We had a delightful dining experience at Bopp & Tone last Saturday for our work Christmas lunch. The soul music playing in the background added to the ambiance. Each dish served was rich in flavour and we were excellently attended too by exceptionally helpful and attentive wait staff. The service and food is impeccable. Vegetarian options: We had one Vegetarian on our table and loved every dish. So accommodating to Dietary needs and requirements.

Went along for the Soul Saturday afternoon - had a fabulous time with amazing food, superb service and atmosphere. Will be back again next time we are in Sydney. Thanks Bopp & Tone Team.

We had a late lunch, and the place was still packed. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was perfect. We had a fantastic time there.

It was a restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The pasta was a little spicy. I couldnt tell from the menu whether it was spicy or not. The rib eye steak was cooked just right and was delicious. I would like to come back to eat there again when I come to Sydney.

Came here for business lunch, ambience is good and you get very good conversation here. But food wasnt too amazing tbh, oysters were good. Hanger steak was ok. But defo a very chill place to hang.

Don t get me wrong, it isn t exactly this place s fault. But they could ve made the main menu more obvious. We ended up only ordering from the bar menu lesson learned. The blue cheese, salad and steak tatare were nice though.

Cool shop, attentive service, funny and good sommelier, very good cocktails, great food! We were here on a Tuesday evening and had reserved in advance. But there were still a few tables free.

Found this place randomly looking for a place to dine on a Thursday night. Loved the atmosphere the service and the food. I got the steak tartare which was really tasty and a generous amount my friend got the caesar salad which was tasty and huge! Overall a nice experience

Best place I have eaten at in a long, long time. Absolutely amazing food, great atmosphere, seating, food and wine. The Wagyu Bolognese alone will tick every box. Get the Creme Brulee too

Was quite busy for a Monday night which was a good sign. Despite this it wasn t particularly noisy and had a great feel to it. I wasn t overly hungry so had the scallops, which were delicious. A little pricey but high quality. Wait staff were excellent and couldn t be faulted.

3.9 -The ambience and atmosphere is the main attraction here, not the food. Food was fine but expected more. Zucchini Flower was nice. King Prawn was pretty flavourless and not cooked well. Pasta with Orecchiette was ok. Steak (Angus Flank) was good but not wow. Far better places in Sydney.

A friend booked a table for 3 for a lunch catch up. He didn t realize the booking was in the bar area (still with a $100 deposit). This meant we had to go to the bar to order drinks and food. No big deal (although we only looked at the bar menu) Had a few rounds of drinks and shared a charcuterie board to start. A few sips into my pecan old fashioned (which was very good) I noticed my glass had a crack down the side. I alerted a waiter and he said he will replace it. Fine.. When he returned, he gave me a new glass but with the contents of the old drink poured into it. That was enough for me. We paid the bill and walked down to a Turkish restaurant Maydanoz, where we enjoyed a great afternoon of amazing food drinks and service.

Best food, service and atmosphere in the CBD. Great for business meetings and also I make a point to bring family and friends from out of town through. The food is ALWAYS quality, fresh and great value for money. The banquet slaps and the service is friendly, funny and knowledgeable, most importantly - consistent. The timing of everything is perfect and the atmosphere is always great.

Service was excellent. Very overpriced though. Share plates were small (but delicious) and not big enough for 2 people. Dessert was very small for the $$. Expensive evening.

So .we have been here several times and the service has been absolutely delightful! However, on my most recent visit on a Monday late afternoon, early evening, we visited for drinks. What a debacle. We were told to sit anywhere and order our drinks at the bar. However, every time we ordered and paid for our drinks at the bar, the hostess would come to our table demanding payment and accusing us of not paying for our drinks. Not sure where the miscommunication was happening, but we were incredibly insulted. Understand that it s a difficult time for hospitality but the hostess really should have better people skills.

I had dinner with friends, loved the vibe and excellent service. Nice atmosphere and it was easy to talk amongst us even though the restaurant was busy. Food was delicious and good selection. Extensive wine and cocktails list. Recommended!

Brought 8 people for a birthday dinner and did the $108 banquet and was let down immensely. When the entree was dropped on the table, they dropped all the plates down one end of the table without any explanation. Then everything else came out progressively and it proved that this banquet option is not worth the money. Additionally the food was lacking in flavour or any finesse worth this price. There were no check ins about the food. Left hungry and annoyed at the money spent. NOT WORTH IT.

DO NOT waste your money on the banquette. Has to be one of the worst banquettes I ve had in my years of dining. $108 and I was STARVING when I left because the portion sizes were a JOKE. Had to beg for more bread to try and fill empty stomachs. Don t waste your money here :)

Excellent in every way

A wonderful find in downtown CBD location, we had the set menu for dinner which is a great value at approx $100 per person looking at the premium ingredients used and a great choice to try many of their signature dishes. Very much a bistro atmosphere but with lots of character and the open kitchen is a nice concept to complement the overall ambience. Service was warm, attentive and was up to the marks. Kudos to the management team for maintaining such high standards. All the disges we tried were fantastic, mostly simple dishes but very well out together, paired and plated and most of all tasted delicious. Steak was without the doubt the highlight, wonderful cut of meat, nicely seasoned and beautifully grilled. Overall a great restaurant and without a doubt one of the restairabts we were thrilled we found using Google reviews.

Steak done masterfully. Got a nice wagyu and was not disappointed. Scallops cooked perfectly and very fresh. Grilled prawns and the potato were great too.

Must go place if you re in Sydney and looking for a classy night (pricey) - nice place with great service - good for both solo, friends after work, couple - steak frank was ginormous! Would suggest for 2 (we hope your waitress did tell us that this could be shared between 2 ppl, we ended up order 2 steak dishes which were why too much food!)

We ordered The Grand from the banquet menu. I particularly like the king prawn and the spatchcock. Great service too!

Their set course lunch is awesome. Great location, great service and fantastic ambiance. Only feedback, during peak lunch hours take a seat outside, indoors gets smokey due to constant cooking. Overall great place for hosting team, clients and business lunches. Vegetarian options: Try their vegetarian/vegan set course lunch.

Tasty food although light meals. I think this is the most expensive restaurant Ive ever been in and I felt a little out of place as I tried to seem like I should be there, personally wouldnt go again but my parents greatly enjoyed themselves and would definitely return if they found themselves back in Brisbane. They were spot on with their cross contamination precautions and allergy awareness.

The perfect place for a celebration! The food was cooked to perfection and the black garlic butter was the most amazing sauce I ve ever eaten on a steak. A cool vibe and outstanding customer service (felt like dining with a friend) means I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for making our celebration so good!

Terrible. Had The atmosphere of a Sizzler or Maccas. Three dishes on the menu were not available at peak time on a Saturday night. Way overpriced for the size of dish you get for the money. The cheapest stake at $68 was the size of a beer coaster. Not recommended and won t be returning.

Perfect for date nights Bopp and Tone, create a cozy atmosphere, with an aroma of wood fire around the restaurant, the stand outs would be there wood fire steaks that are of top quality and we re cooked exact to customer orders, the staff that took care of me and my partner for her birthday, were welcoming and made the overall experience a delight

No matter how you ask you steak to be cooked they bring it out seared on the outside and otherwise raw uncooked and unseasoned. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Came here for a glass of wine after work. There is nothing to write home about, not our top 10 place.

This is a really groovily decked-out sanctuary of a restaurant. They ve gone to a fair bit of trouble to wood panel the interior, complete with period framed photographs and a velvet cape-like curtain that is drawn open as you re shown to your table. The menu is thoughtfully put together and the flavours sing like Sinatra on a good night, although it must be said everything is quite pricey, reflecting the premium address and surrounds. The waiting staff are a little fickle, happy to chat among themselves in the centre, so it was challenging at times to get their attention to place orders, but they were generally proactive when it came to offering further drinks when glasses neared draining point. Our small group enjoyed a few rounds of drinks (including the thimble sized gin house martinis which were pre-ordered for arrival at the time the booking was made), and share plates (entree sizes of the sliced scallops, steak tartare, prosciutto, and a couple of small size pastas), which all came to around $90 pp - not too bad for a light dinner in the Sydney CBD. The wait can be prolonged, especially for mains. At night the fine curly cursive font in the food and drinks menus is tricky to read due to the dimmed lighting, but hey, that s what smartphone torches and reading glasses are for, I guess. The volume of the piped music could also benefit from being lower to be more conversation-friendly for diners over the shouty threshold of 30 years old, but these are just small grievances in what was overall a reasonably pleasant experience.

I had my first visit to this establishment last week and it was fantastic. The vibe is incredible, the food was incredible, the decor is so spot on. And it s one of the few places in Sydney that actually do an Old Fashioned any justice. Can t wait to be back.

I ve been here twice now and both times the food were great, service very attentive and friendly. Didn t take too many photos, the steaks were perfectly grilled, the tartare fresh and well seasoned. The seafood dishes were equally impressive as were the sides, highly recommend the octopus and cucumber salad. Will be back

Came here with my partner for anniversary dinner and had a great time. The restaurant ambience is very cosy and heating was just right. Colour palette of the restaurant fittings is done beautifully. Fave of the night was definitely the octopus. Smokey meaty bite delicious

All the food was truly delicious, and with the friendly service and great atmosphere, it was a very satisfying restaurant.

The chef needs some work on his cooking skills! Got the calamari and a couple of burgers however everything is over seasoned with salt! Its a bit bonkers! The Creme Brulee was delicious :) I recommend it post any meal .

Have always loved this place. Great place to have a drink after work especially with happy hour from 3-6pm. Ample seating both indoors and outdoors available.

When I arrived the host offers me a seat at the bar by the cooking area and told me the would take my order at the bar . After ~25 min of no one engaging or acknowledging me I went back to the host and asked for a table and was refused, after explaining the situation she apologized and said I was to order at the to the bar. Easy mistake. I went to Maydanoz next to it. Maydanoz is world class. A simple change of attending to a patron at eating by the cooking area will fix this issue. The atmosphere was great.

I had crispy calamari, bolognese pasta, and Wagyu sirloin steak. It was really good, and I think any dish on the menu would be nice. The old fashioned cocktail was also great. Lovely place, good food and great vibe

We did the bottomless jazz brunch on Saturday. The food, service and ambience was amazing! A huge thank you to our server who was attentive and patient with us. Sometimes the quality of the wines at a bottomless can be disappointing but I found the bubbles and red to be really delicious! Great spot for a classy day out. Will be back.

Can t recommend this place enough. The food is amazing. The services is fast and friendly. Recommend a booking Thursdays and Fridays. It has a popular after work crowd and great happy hour. They have tons of outdoor seating you will want to snag as well. Great bar menu for those who want to keep it simple. I love the cocktails and the wine list has options for everyone. The grilled meats are a must. You can see into the open kitchen to watch the grill masters at work. This trip I sat at the bar and started with a cocktail and some oysters. My main dish was the steak and fries with a glass of wine.

Beautiful, fresh, well prepared and very tasty food - every dish we had was really great and presented beautifully. Very comfortable setting, he only reason I have the atmosphere 4 stars is because the background music was just a touch too loud making a little difficult to converse around the table without trying too hard. But overall this is a fabulous restaurant!

Had the $130 Soul Saturday Bottomless lunch.The wait staff were outstanding. Looked after us so well. So impressed that the bottomless drinks were certainly not sparse. Waiter was so attentive and friendly. The musicians were also fantastic. Music selections were so entertaining. Certainly had us bopping at our table. Food was great also but $11 extra per person for one grilled scallop seemed expensive, but absolutely amazing flavours. Compliments to the chefs. A 10 out of 10 experience. Would definitely book the bottomless lunch again.

Having eaten at both the bar side and the restaurant side now, can confirm that this is a great spot for dinner on a whim in the CBD. Both times on weekend nights and no reservations were needed and food has been consistently good with reasonably nice cuts of beef and sides to match. Solid cocktails and other beverages to chose from! During the day they have a wicked sandwich bar/cafe that is also worth checking out.

The food and the stuff for absolutely lovely, very professional staff and very delicious food. The sommelier helped us choose a great bottle of red. Water glasses kept being topped up. We didn t have to ask for anything additional. It was pricey, also the restaurant is very big, but you wouldn t feel that with the dedicated service. Some areas can feel a little cramped as customers were put on the table right next to us, even though the rest of the restaurant was empty at that point, and didn t fill up till later in the evening.

Came for the Valentines Day menu. The food was amazing particularly the oysters and the wagyu scotch fillet. The waitress that served us was friendly and attentive to our needs.

Two kids and three adults went and ate well. There were no tables inside, so we ate at an outdoor table.

This is a perfect place with good atmosphere and good food. The location is also easy to access, so I like it! It was nice that the restaurant was spacious so it was easy to get in even for walk-ins. I visited 5 times in 3 months. I especially recommend the sirloin steak. Its so soft!! I also recommend the cornbread and lobster pasta. I tried most of the menu items over the course of five times. Everything was delicious. It s a place where you don t have to regret anything. Im going back to Korea next week, but before that, I definitely want to visit one more time and eat sirloin steak and lobster pasta again!

I ate the menu recommended by the staff, and both the steak and burrata cheese were really delicious! I had a happy evening, but my husband forgot to leave a tip and I was embarrassed by the staffs suddenly cold behavior and it didnt end well.

The tone was pitch perfect. From front of house to the immaculate results from the kitchen, you wont be disappointed. It was our first time and we were warmly greeted and led to our table amongst the gorgeous fit out. Lovely sumptuous touches everywhere. The menu had some great variety and I have to give props to the kitchen for producing hit after hit. Whether it be Mediterranean inspired or French classic items, every dish was a peak execution. The octopus was tender with no hint of fishiness, the tartare was wonderful with the crunch of that sour dough starter cracker, the pappadelle was silky and the ragu was deeply rich and comforting. The potatoes were just outstanding, incredible even crisp without a hint of oiliness and what seemed an impossibly fluffy centre - best Ive had in years. The parfait was a real song of texture and the hit of salt in the base was so compelling. Well be back with friends for sure.

A thousand miles away from care. Loved the experience in one of the more intimate inside tables, and the food was delicious, the Moreton Bay Bug Pasta the highlight.

Overall the dining experience was great. Being someone with dietary restrictions, it meant a lot to be able to have something different from the banquet offering. The only issue I had was the waitress never advised me that there was a Green Thai chili pepper on my plate. It was mixed in with the leafy greens. It was not a pleasant experience eating this yesterday, and am still feeling pain in my mouth.

Celebrated a birthday and a wedding there. Very charismatic atmosphere, superb staff service, amazing attention to detail, great wine list! Highly recommend to go for a set menu! All dishes are outstanding! Perhaps the restaurant could consider adding wine paring option to its set menus! Right at the heart of buzzling Sydney, they served such amazing meals where each dish got better and better. The servers were super attentive and made sure we were well taken cared of. If youre ever in area, I recommend dropping by.

Exceptionally tasty food and loved the atmosphere. Great music, not too loud to have to shout. Had an incredible wagyu bolognese and steamed spinach. Was really happy with portions and flavours but unfortunately the spinach was gritty. Such a pity because everything else about the experience was fantastic. That being said, I would go back.

Great food and atmosphere. Service started off strong but as the night went on we werent asked if we wanted more drinks and had to ask twice for our bill before getting it so we could leave (was over 40 minutes from initially asking for the bill)

Absolutely amazing. The food, wine, and service were all top-notch. The pork neck, seafood tartare, and octopus were particularly spectacular, and our server was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

Not bad but bit pricey . Ordered the banquet menu, better to try ala carte next time . Steak and Prawns are good, the pumpkin or fish isn t that nice in my opinion . Very noisy

Bopp and Tone has become my repeat destination, and its no secret their charcoal prawns are the stuff of legend! I find myself drawn back time and time again for that perfectly grilled, smoky goodness that elevates the dining experience. The atmosphere here is vibrant, making each visit feel like a celebration. Beyond the prawns, the menu is a culinary adventure with flavors that never fail to impress. The staff adds to the charm with their warm hospitality, making Bopp and Tone not just a restaurant but a reliable go-to for indulging in memorable moments and, of course, those irresistible charcoal prawns.

Please be aware the staff do not sing you happy birthday and still bring your desert with a candle to your table. I was solo as I am not from Sydney and it was horrifying singing happy birthday to myself in a busy restaurant. The food is okay and the service is alright.

Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere! The staff were extremely lovely, but weren t as attentive. This was understandable as we went on a Friday night when it was extremely busy.

Food is very good. Not alot of it...unless you order loads. Music very loud...so hard to have a conversation. Its a great atmosphere thou. Food

I wrote a review based on my experience and a charge I got promised wont happen, this morning I found the same person who talked to me on the phone not only refunded the fee, but wrote an apology, he didnt ask me to change my review only asked me to give them another chance in the future. I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for not only rectify the mistake but most important for not using it to push me to change my mind, i did that based on your fantastic approach.

My experience here was not enjoyable. Our table was inconveniently situated right in the center, the service staff didnt pay much attention to us, and we had to actively seek someone out every time we needed assistance, very disappointing.

We went on Friday (busy lunchtime) to have our work Christmas lunch - so had the set menu. I have a number of food intolerances - some of which are a little more odd and harder to cater for. I advised them ahead of time what they were, and they assured me they could cater for me. We turned up for lunch, hungry. The waitress came over and checked in with me (even letting me know she had RESEARCHED herself what i could and couldnt have (a first for most restaurants!) and assured me that intolerances and allergies were easy to accommodate. She showed me what i would and wouldnt be getting from the menu - and assured me i would receive something else in its place. Normally i would expect something simple, basic, not quite as exciting but generally edible. Not at Bopp and Tone! Every dish was substituted out with something i could have that was equally as delicious (or better!) All extremely high quality - with the same thought and dedication that went into every other dish that was served. To say im extremely impressed is an understatement - and Im extremely grateful to the team for making me not feel like a burden and treating my intolerances seriously, and still delivering on delicious high quality food with wonderful service! I will definitely be a returning customer! My sincere thanks x

Great food and service

On the corner of wynyard, this spot used to be another bar but was recently taken over by Applejack group and turned into stylish Bopp & Tone. We sat outside on the patio which is elevated from street level which felt private enough but also outdoorsy enough to look out and watch the commuters heading home from the CBD. We enjoyed the cocktails and did the set banquet menu which was plenty of food and a good mix of what is offered on the a la carte menu. We really enjoyed the steak, and the crispy potatoes, as well as the crudo!!

It s so salty Especially the Caesar salad... the anchovies were so salty that I couldnt chew them.

Really nice set menu food and drinks. The staff was friendly and attentive. Went there for a Christmas dinner with the company.

I had dinner here with some friends to celebrate a birthday. I loved the interior decor, it was so classy and sophisticated. We ordered food to share. They were all very delicious, and amazing. The steak was just perfect. The Creme Brulee was my favourite dessert. Loved it!

We drop in to this place on our way out in the city because its right next to Wynyard train station. Always happy to squeeze us in with no booking. Great place for a quick drink and the food looks good too.

Every dish was excellent. The scallops, steak and potatoes were stand out! Make sure you get the steak with black garlic butter. Could not fault this place.
