The steaks were great! We got the Wagyu steaks that our waitress recommended. The appetisers and sides were generous, and the desserts were fantastic. We sat on the upper level of the restaurant, which has a rustic yet modern vibe. The service was great and we really appreciated the recommendations of our waitress. It's a fitting place to welcome friends from overseas and introduce them to some of the best cuisine in Australia. We were six people for a Saturday evening dinner. Booking is recommended. The restaurant is a short walk from the Hunter Street exit of the Martin Place Metro.
All the food was amazing and want to highlight the grilled cabbage and the bone marrow! The service was lightly disappointing as it felt like we were forgotten after receiving our mains and was a struggle to get the bill which took almost 15minutes. We never received a dessert menu and decided not to have dessert due to the lack of engagement. The service was very friendly and helpful however the delays were making it difficult to enjoy.
We didn't have a booking but were able to get seated at the bar and order from the full menu. Steaks were perfection and our waiter was super friendly in helping us choose pairing wines. Highly recommend!
Amazing streak, cooked exactly to requested, condiments and sauces were also seasoned well. Staff explained the different cuts and went through the menu very thoroughly. Ambience and staff was perfect for dinner with my wife, the staff was very knowledgeable regarding the cuts as well.
The chophouse has become a new favourite of mine after just one dinner. I know I’ll be back. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed and you immediately feel welcome and at home. It’s not pretentious & the staff are really friendly and down to earth. The quality of ingredients is an incredibly high standard and every dish followed, cooked to perfection. Steaks were outstanding. The sauces absolutely on point & we could not fault anything. The cookie skillet was homemade and perfect to cap off a memorable dinner. What was nice was that tables of people around us we could hear the same reactions we had “wow, oooh’ yum”. Just go & enjoy.
One of the best steakhouses in Sydney. Came here for a work lunch with some long-time industry friends and we were very happy with the food and service. Looking forward to returning soon for another fantastic meal!
First time dining at the venue and what an experience! The only reservation I could get was an 8:45pm one but it’s understandable as it was a beehive of activity. I also work at a restaurant and was astounded at the range of wines on offer. I opted for a beautiful 2012 Bordeaux which was decanted after presentation. The meat options were phenomenal along with the starters and sides. You can’t fault any of the food or service, our waitress was extremely good at her job and made the experience even better. All the staff were very professional and it reflects on the business overall. 10/10 would recommend anyone to come and experience the service, quality of food and ambience this stunning venue provides x
I’m not usually one to seek out steak, so when I visited Chophouse, I didn’t have high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal. After the entree (wagyu skewers), I had the pleasure of trying the most exquisite squid ink and truffle salami—oh, I was in heaven! The combination of flavors was incredible and added an extra layer of indulgence to the experience. Then came the steak itself which was cooked to perfection. I ordered it medium rare, though I’d have preferred it a bit rarer, but honestly, it was so good I didn’t mind. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful, to the point where I didn't even use any of the provided sauces—it simply didn’t need them. We were also treated to freshly shaved truffle, which was a lovely addition. It wasn’t overpowering, and its delicate flavor complemented the steak, chips, and mash potato beautifully. It truly felt like a culinary delight. The meal ended with a cheese board instead of a traditional dessert, which was a nice touch. And of course, I couldn’t leave without having my favorite Affogato, which rounded out the experience perfectly. That said, there were a few pieces of steak that were a bit fatty and sinewy, which reminded me of why I'm generally not a fan of meat on the bone. Despite this, the overall experience was fantastic. Would I return? Definitely, if I’m in the mood for some quality red meat!
it is delicious
Awesome steak and great atmosphere. Been there a 100 times and it only gets better. Sommelier was awesome and great wine list.
It was an amazing experience. Food that I ve never tasted before and the sirloin steaks was just amazing. Special thanks to Alex and Sean in the bar team for making delicious cocktails. I would definitely recommend checking in out as it is one of Sydney s best steakhouses
The steak wine was delicious, but I wouldnt go back again. I went to see if there was a Korean server, but there was none, and grilled cabbage or mashed potatoes were not on the menu. The oysters werent bad, but not terribly good. The steak and wine were good, and the sides were terrible. I ordered a baked potato, but it was so salty it felt like I was eating salt. The atmosphere wasnt bad, but it was a bit noisy, and the server in charge was friendly. When making a reservation, you had to fill in your nationality and what you were visiting for (anniversary, birthday, etc.), but services tailored to this were not provided.
Expensive food, not value for the money. Supposed to be 3 course meal and theyve end up serving shared dishes. Very small portions and waitress and the Asian manager with a very little humor/patience. Dont recommend and wont go back
A steakhouse I always go to. The taste is unmistakable
Super
Brilliant menu and dishes, great wine list and good service.
Poor service. Food is decent. Split a supposed 700gm steak between 3 of us. It equated to 3 measly slices of beef each. As an ex chef this was at best a 450gm tbone. Took close to half an hour to get any service to close out the bill. Very disappointing evening and a waste of money for what you get
We had the 1.5kg MB3+ Rangers Valley Black Onyx Tomahawk steak and it was mind blowing! The Steak Tartare and Bone Marrow was also really good!
Amazing meal, our group of 4 had the kingfish crudo to share, then a wagyu striploin 300g each, and shared sides of glazed carrots, steamed greens, roasted potato, baby cos, mixed leaf salad and chips, we had to finish off with their famous chophouse choclate block (wish we could have cut the block ourselves with their mini clever)
live in dream thanks brandn
My go to place in Sydney for lamb chops. Good food and great wine. Sommelier was very nice. Will come back again. Was there twice in a week!
Lovely place but very poor service. Took one of our global leaders from the USA and they forgot our entrees order and table service not good. Their staff dont know how to pour wine from a wine bottle. Had some gristle in my Wagyu steak
I visited Chop House because there were many reviews recommending it! The sirloin was delicious, but the tenderloin was not so good (my friend who went with me was a meat expert, but he said it was a tasteless tenderloin). The appetizer is called Bone Merrow, which is grilled beef bone marrow served with bread. Its delicious. Be sure to try it! And the mashed potatoes are good, but the roasted cabbage is delicious~~~! The female staff member with good pronunciation was so friendly that I remember it
Service was fine, entres were also good , but the actual quality of the steak was very poor, considering the prices they charge , there are much better alternatives.
Everything was good but too noisy to be able to meet customers!
Amazing atmosphere, delicious steak and the caramel hazelnut cookie is incredible.
Great place for a steak. Delicious steak but slightly disappointed at how thin it was, although this is a harsh criticism. Never had this before but the highlight of the meal was the cabbage which is a must! Good sauce and fries. Great meal overall
The steak recommended by the Korean manager was delicious and the atmosphere was nice.
Perfect lamp chop and amazing service. Was attended with hospitality from start till the end. Will be back to try their steak and dessert!
The portion of Tomahawk Steak is quite large, enough for three people to eat Steak is delicious The sorbet of the dessert is very refreshing
Great space and the wait staff she was very friendly and lovely. Food was good but definitely not enough food. We came as group of 7 and the food was more for 5-6 serve. For $145pp with drinks i think doesnt hurt to give another plate of salad overall service was great
The chophouse was a bad experience as the stake that i ordered was very tough to eat and lots of fat in it,very expensive for what it was. Ive had better stake in the local pub sorry but I will definitely not going back.
Incredibly friendly staff and the brown butter old fashioned was a revelation. My new favorite restaurant in Sydney. 5 stars.
The atmosphere and background music were pleasant, and the staff thoughtfully inquired if we were satisfied with our meal. However, the portion of the $17 drink was somewhat insufficient.
This is the best restaurant Ive been to in Sydney or Brisbane. Definitely go there and try the T-bone steak. It was really nice and friendly to have someone who spoke Korean. Its best with oysters, potatoes, steak, and wine.
Outstanding food and great feel to the place. Unfortunately the service was not great and neither was the attitude that came with it.
Mind blown. The best steak of my life.
It was my first steak during my trip to Sydney. I ordered an 800 gram T-bone steak with high expectations, but received a small steak that looked to be around 5-600 grams. Although it felt uncomfortable, we ate it as if we were going to eat it, but after ordering various steaks from other restaurants, we realized that we had definitely been scammed. I want to think of it as a mistake and not intentional discrimination, but I cant help but feel offended. When we went there, there were no Korean servers. Is that the fault? Even considering the high price, the service is very disappointing compared to the price. Its an experience I wouldnt recommend.
Food was good but not spectacular for the price. Good service and ambiance though.
One of the best hospitality experiences I have had, food was off its head, service was spot on everytime, drinks were amazing. Highly highly recommend!
Nice staff but so slow, good quality food but tiny portions. Must be the smallest steak I ve ever had.
One of my favourite spots in the CBD for lunch
Came here on Friday evening whilst visiting Sydney and the food was phenomenal. The steak, sauces, sides and entrees were all 10/10. The waiters were all friendly too especially the Asian guy with glasses, he gave the best service. Very professional and understanding. Will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Sydney, thank you !
Visited Sept 25th. Staff was fun and pleasant, our waiter helped us figure out what to order since my wife wasnt very hungry. Food was delicious from beginning to end. And thanks to reservations coordinator Georgia for helping with a question I had
The inside of the restaurant is a little dark, but the staff was bright and the service was good, and the meat was delicious. Among the many shops introduced by various YouTubers, this one ranked high for me.
Steaks are amazing, service was slow. It was a lengthy task trying to raise the attention of a waiter. Also, the bread was stale. Overall good food / experience.
The steak was cooked perfectly to our liking, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere felt cozy and upscale, which made our family dinner enjoyable. Prices are on the higher end, but its what you would expect for a premium steakhouse. Overall, a nice spot for a special night out.
Incredible Service from the Host to our Section Waiter. The food was incredibly fresh and the Striploin melted like butter! Cocktails were cocktailing - Balanced, crisp and just the way I like them! Food : 5/5
The food is delicious and all meats and desserts are available, but most of the drinks are not halal
Had our 30th wedding anniversary here a few days ago and we were very well looked after by Tahlia. Great food and great service. Thank you for making our night extra special with bubbles and sparklers !!
Excellent food service & cocktails
700g Sikkim T-bone steak for 2 people The sauce is not that good The taste is not bad, but a bit chewy... (medium rare)
Being French, I wanted to taste very good meat. It was Magyu. Excellent and tender meat, a real treat. For me it was slightly too medium although we had requested rear, the pinot noir by the glass was medium. Its aroma did not develop and my taste buds were not amazed. It s a good place, a little noisy and a little too dark for my taste.
Delicious steak cooked perfectly, helpful and friendly wait staff and sommelier, great atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Crazy prices!
I searched here and there before coming to Sydney, but it was easily accessible and there were many good reviews, so I visited. The dry-aged meat is soft and melts in your mouth, but should be eaten medium. You can also order lamb gently and scotch fillet!!
I stopped by and it was great! Recommended if you want to eat delicious meat The staffs customer service was also good.
I had a delicious steak, friendly service, and a pleasant meal. If I go to Sydney again, I plan to visit again.
Bentley our waiter had really good explanations and wonderful service. Steak was cooked perfectly with a nice setting.
The beef was good but nothing really extraordinary, considering the price we were paying. The onion rings were huge. Unfortunately, the drinks came in really tiny glasses which wasn t worth the AUD$19 and $27 we paid for.
I was taken to chophouse to celebrate my 18th Birthday. I loved everything about the venue. The warm greeting at the door. The fun and professional service (Lorena) is an awesome waiter backed by a great team. We couldn t pick a favourite dish as everything was flawless. I highly suggest though the wagyu tomahawk, it s next level. Rodrigo the sommelier will narrow down a huge wine list through conversation of what qualities you enjoy in a wine and offer several great suggestions. Come to this restaurant when you re looking for something special
T-bone steak and sirloin were both delicious. Artichoke and fried onions too!!! The Korean female server was really, really kind!! Everyone was really friendly
Food was great but it took a long time to get our main meal, over 40 minutes. It wasn t a busy night so this was too long of a wait
I had a beautiful dining experience at Chophouse Sydney. Service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. he went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and his recommendations were spot on. Highly recommend the starters like crispy calamari. Keen to try other dishes and dessert next time!
As my wifes birthday coincided with my honeymoon, I made a reservation for dinner and visited. The atmosphere goes without saying, the servers were friendly, and the steak was delicious. If you order medium, its cooked just right and its perfect for enjoying the steak with a light glass of wine. Thanks to you, it was the end of a very happy day. I will definitely visit again next time I travel.
That was most beautiful T-bone stake in my life. thanks for korean staff to recommending well.
Loved it. Would come again any day.
Poor service attitude!
Worth every cent, life changing meal, life changing drinks
Third time back at Chop Shop from Wellington and it never disappoints! The most tender delicious steak and the greens are hands down the best greens I ve had. Delicious!
Amazing wine selection. Very good service. Very good management. We had the Wagyu - nice.
Absolutely good portion for power lunch on weekdays. Servers gave good suggestions and recommendations about menu.
Not very cost-effective, the calamari was salty and the onion rings were greasy. The steak was edible but not great. Personally, I recommend it.
If you feel you need some micro manage style restaurant after your work. You could definitely choose this restaurant, as you will receive a service like your supervisor is watching you, making the food feel tasteless. What a wonderful night.
Staff here are fantastic and go that extra mile to ensure your experience is a great one. Food was outstanding. Will be back for sure
Fantastic. Atmosphere was great, food was amazing. Loved the Scotch Fillet and the Lamb Chops. Also, the Mashed Potato and Greens selection was so yummy.
Great night dining at rhe chophouse , food service and drinks were amazing
So good food
The pasture fed eye fillet I had was one of the best steaks I have enjoyed in my life. Definitely would like to try the on bone next time. Good drinks and service.
Good good
Restaurant of life Full dish. Main dish. beer. There isnt a single wine I dont like.
Love the Tbone
Very enjoyable.
Amazing steak! A restaurant that lives up to its reputation. We came on a weeknight, service was fast and friendly. Starters were great, portions adjustable to your party size. Would love to return to try the tomahawk! Parking: Paid street parking was easy to find on weeknights
Excellent service, GREAT food and always welcoming.
The service was very good. I ordered the eye-fillet and it was very ordinary.
Who doesnt love a fresh Oyster entree, followed by Eye Fillet. All finished off with some cocktails and the big gooey biscuit desert. The easiest way to get my teenager out of the house full stop. Went to the truffle night this week and had the pleasure of dining with some really nice people in a communal style setup. If you find Aria a little too fancy, you will be pleasantly surprised here! Big shout out to the wait staff. Matt has some really good characters in there. Dietary restrictions: GF well catered for here.
I had the lamb, which was very nice. The service was excellent too.
I am not a lamb person, but the lamb chops they serve here are just amazing. The tenderloin steak was amazingly good as well, coupled with very good service.
Scott the manager was super accommodating for our group, 9 of us came in for a birthday celebration and the meal was 100/10! Service was spectacular and wine knowledge to go with it- we ordered a beautiful Malbec for the table for starters and upped it to a Shiraz that was perfect for the cut of beef we were recommended. We had 1 pescetarian and a pregnant lady as part of our group and the meal was tailored for them. I would highly recommend this venue for any occasion, great staff- awesome atmosphere and value for money. Super happy with my visit to Chophouse!!! Will definitely be back again
Wonderful experience. Classy but also very kid friendly. The steaks were out of this world - recommend the wagyu rump or scotch filet . Also try the scallops. Great drink and dessert options- try the chocolate block. Super attentive, customer focused, and frilendly staff. Higher prices but worth it for the quality. I will definitely return.
I cant recommend Chophouse enough! From the moment we walked in until the moment we left it was a fantastic experience. Both the food and service were impeccable. We had the dry aged Ribeye(cooked to perfection), winter greens(chips and full of flavor), mash potatoes(honestly the best mash youll ever eat. Puts any Paris mash to shame for sure.), and to top it all off the wine and dessert were delicious! Already planning my next visit to start working my way through the menu.
Disappointing Experience This was our first time at this restaurant, chosen based on its high rating, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. I took my two friends there for their birthdays and was very let down by the experience. Service: The service was below average, rude, and slow, even though it was a quiet night. We waited 15 minutes for the staff to take our order. When my margarita finally arrived, it was served in a small glass with a giant ice cube, making it impractical to drink. Starters: The chicken pâté was average and seemed like an industrial product bought from a third-party supplier, served with three tiny pieces of bread. Main Course: While the meat was good, the eye and scotch fillet were not seasoned. Simply placing a piece of meat in the middle of a plate with no effort in presentation looks amateurish, especially when charging $60 per plate. Presentation doesnt require much effort but makes a big difference. Sides: The sides were no better than those from an average local pub. The mashed potatoes were starchy, the onion rings were undercooked, and the frozen chips were disappointing. A steakhouse selling frozen fries is unacceptable. Those are the basics of cooking, which are taught in 1st year of cooking class. Dessert: The cheesecake was the worst Ive had in a long time. Even store-bought cheesecake is better. It had so much gelatin that it was hard to cut with a fork. Coming from a food industry background, this is unacceptable. I would have preferred good pub food over what we had here, especially considering the $600 bill.
The food was acceptable. The wine (and food) were overpriced. But the real downside was that the manager (Scott) was incredibly rude repeatedly. Basically chased us out of the restaurant. But of course tried to ask for a tip while pushing us out the door. I ve spent plenty of money and been to lovely restaurants throughout Sydney, I ve never felt less valued and more exploited than here
Terrible service. Were told more than once to be quiet which ruined the experience for us.
Dinned here for my fiancés birthday and it was amazing! Was initially a frustrating booking as I had booked to visit on his actually birthday only to receive a call and say we can t dine there that night do to a closed event, only to find out it was a truffle dinner that was open to the public for bookings - so not sure why we were refused to be allowed to dine that night but nonetheless had a great time when we were allowed to go. Ordered the Tomahawk and it was incredible!
The best steak restaurant! I highly recommend this restaurant, the food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Shoutout to Anne! She is just so good at what she does, from serving food to establishing rapport to customers! Food
Its delicious. The French fries are delicious and the kids eat the steak very well.
Absolutely loved our experience at Chophouse. The food was exceptionally delicious and well cooked. Staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Prices were reasonable and food quality was perfect. I highly recommend visiting Chophouse.
Good food, good service, enjoyed the meal. Seemed a little over priced but was very central.
I am sad to say I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The staff at this restaurant were intimidating and incredibly rude to my friends and I. The food is was ok though over priced, and overshadowed by our experience. A staff member, Scott(?) claiming to be the manager was intimidating and rude multiple times. At one time he even waited for my friends to go to the bathroom to come back to our table and berate me. It was incredibly embarrassing and at times scary.
That sauce was not Chimichurri. It was at best Parsley with oil. Dont call it Chimichurri if its not chimichurri Food
Staff were exceptional. Friendly and extremely attentive. Food served was really quick. The cocktail special was great. The food was quite salty but still delicious, the cheese desert was excellent
Staff were very attentive. Striploin was amazing. Chimichurri can t be blended though as it gives a running texture. It s much nicer to finely chopped the cilantro and parsley.
We are all very happy with the food, the service and ambiance in general. Personally I like the fresh steak more than dry age steak. Dessert is something you should not miss.
Did not have a good experience at all. On entering and providing our booking name I was accused of slurring my words. This was not the case and was a terrible.entrance experience. The same person subsequently apologised but damage done. There was no experience whatsoever and the attention was minimal at best. No bread offered and it took 90 minutes for our food to appear. When the food did appear it was good and so that has.made me go up from 1 star. As regular attendees of The Gidley this place is not in the same stratosphere as that place. Will not be returning.
Had an excellent steak dinner at Chophouse in Sydney. Even though we didn t have a booking they were able to find us a table.
Chophouse delivered an impressive dining experience! We walked in on a Friday night and, despite the busy evening, they managed to fit us in and even accommodate additional friends joining our table later. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic, especially the steaks. The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, making it a perfect spot for a spontaneous night out. Highly recommend for a great meal and exceptional service!
Had the fillet and it was delicious. Also had a taste of the Waygu fillet and it was also Devine. Argentinian Malbec was also ordered and was great ! Would recommend to anyone going to Sydney and looking for a steak. Food
Beautiful meal, incredible service
Went to few steak houses but not allowed to go in as we bring our kids. Chophouse is a kid friendly steak house, they even provide activity goody bag for the kids. Steak is very tender and has great smoky smell, especially the Wagyu beef. There are 5 of us (3 adults, 4 Children), we spent around 400AUD.
Highly recommended steakhouse. Great steak, superb services and they dont have below 18 years old restriction, so you can go with your kids !!
Absolute must if you want a steakhouse in Sydney. The bone in Rib was cooked to perfection and all side were delicious. Warm macadamia cookie was outstanding. And if you re a whisky drinker the double smoked old fashioned will impress. Comprehensive wine list with great world wide representation. Definitely worth it.
Great steak, friendly professional staff . Highly recommend
Where to begin, service was dyer! Food wasn t much better. After sitting down at 6pm, it took 15 minutes for someone to ask us for drinks. At which point we were ready to order, so gave the full order with starters including bread. You would think the bread would come immediately, followed by entrees, then the main. Well after 30 minutes pass, nothing, not even a drink at this point we ve asked twice where the drinks are and also the bread. At 6:50pm we re brought everything at once, bread (warmed up brown loaf) which tasted stale. Entrees that had to be sent back as they were cold, and then probably the worst cut of Wagyu I ve had the misfortune of tasting in my life. Medium-rare, it was tough, chewy, zero flavouring, and marbling score was way off. To top it off, some basic chips that looked like they ve come from a McCain frozen chip bag and some bland mash. I feel sorry for anyone classing this as a good steak house, as you ve clearly never been lucky enough to actually taste what a good cuts of meat are, and then mastered in the kitchen by the chefs. Avoid this place like the plague if you re looking for good steak
Chophouse for chops. Good steaks and lamb chops, good selections of beers. No one does chops better than the Aussies.
A fairly historic steakhouse in Sydney. They say a Korean was the main chef in the past... Im not sure if thats still the case. We ate T-bone steak. The tenderloin is savory and delicious, and the sirloin is tender and delicious. Its nice that you can order steak in 100-gram increments, so you can order the right amount of steak. The steak is delicious, but the mashed potatoes are truly outstanding. The atmosphere is also very good!! Very highly recommended
Was perfect, 10 out of 10 Will definitely come back again Food
Had the T-bone steak medium rare. Just amazing!!!
Ive eaten many famous steaks. Lightness + softness is great here. Two adults ate 800g and ordering was easy because the staff was Korean. Even my husband, who is a picky eater, wants to come again.
Fabulous upmarket but casual steakhouse - great service, food and wine. We enjoyed every moment. Attentive but not pushy service.
Convenient location in the heart of the city. But the dishes and service were average. We got the group menu ($110/each) and it was very awkward to be served 4 wedges of pumpkin and having to split that amongst 5 of us. The portion of sides that were served were inconsistent - we got 2 portions of chips, but a portion of squid, tartare, beetroot salad - understandably to be shared but amongst 5 people. Not worth the price tag imo. The service was slow, dishes were waiting to be cleared, and one of us had a drink spilt on them by the wait staff when clearing the table. Hopefully a better experience next time!
Nice steak place in CBD area. Yes it is pricier, but i think you should get the dry aged beef here. Casual yet nice, expect to spend around 100 per pax, but it s well worth it. Do give it a try.
It should be the best steakhouse in Sydney, in this surely the taste of wagyu and lamb are perfect and also the servers were so kind and professional. If you want to eat steak in Sydney, come here! Other highly rated or famous places are picky about visiting times and are racist, but this place had the best taste - try the recommended high-grade steak! The servers were also professional and friendly :) It was worth the money as it was like a sweet treat after a tiring trip to Sydney.
The three of us ordered T-bone steak, side mesh potatoes, and three glasses of wine, and it came out to $197. The T-bone steak wasnt enough for three people, but it was just enough to eat, and I think it would be perfect for two people. The T-bone was soft and delicious. The sauce was also delicious. suggestion. The atmosphere is good too
We enjoyed t born steak and it was really delicious. My sons best steak restaurant
Solo travel in sydney first time First food and first day in sydney Chophouse very nice steak House Staff are very welcome and friendly Super Super
The food was exquisite and the lady that assisted us was the warmest and most hospitable server I have ever met!
Visited the famous CHOPHOUSE in Sydney. Although it is located in a business district, it is crowded with tourists as well. You can see how popular it is. The high-quality steak is Tajima beef from Japan. I ordered local Aussie beef. It was delicious.
My steak was divinely tender and the food delicious. The stuffed Zucchini flowers were a very expensive, but delicious. Would definitely return.
The chop is amazing. The service is great.
All 3 steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. Will try the tomahawk next time.
Fantastic steaks, lovely atmosphere, and unpretentious. Pricing is right for a bit of a special occasion without being ridiculous. My wife and I spent $280 for an anniversary dinner, no wine but one $35 cocktail. Kid-friendliness: Table next to us was a family of four, two kids. They were catered for
Good food & friendly staff...
Food was average and the wagyu was even average. The restaurants got a good vibe. For the price you would think you could get the exceptional service but from the reception to the waiting staff we did not feel we were very welcomed. It seems that the people do not really like the work they do there and you can tell no one is happy... The girl who served us constantly got distracted and looking elsewhere when taking our orders... not a pleasant experience
Absolutely fantastic dining experience! Although it is a busy restaurant it seemed they took us to a large table where we selected, instead of putting us (2 ppl) to the counter or to a smaller table. The staffs serving us were all friendly and polite, great service provided. Very satisfied with all food plates served. I recommend this place, I definitely will go back again.
Excellent restaurant. We are from the states and very picky about our steaks. Chophouse did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Our steaks were very flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were very and were a tasteful accompaniment to the steaks. The wine list is also very good and they offer premium wines by the glass.
Great steak and service
Chophouse, upon entry your greeted with welcoming smiles. The staff are extremely helpful with drinks & menu. The atmosphere is cosy & very relaxed. Entrees arent overly filling but full of flavour which is great because the mains are very generous. Steaks are perfectly cooked and prepped, highly recommend the rib eye, 10/10. Once again missed dessert here, had other commitments, next time. 24/02/2014
This review is for the group banquet. Firstly, stick to the steaks when youre here as other items as part of banquet were just OK. Squid lack crispyness and was very greasy. We did enjoy beef tartare and buratta. We did not like alternate drop concepts for desserts , given there was zero flexibility to considering preferences within groups. Group was also not consulted on steak doneness preference. Considering 10% service charge for Group 8+, no flexibility to accommodate preferences and found ourselves asking for water refills, overall service was disappointing.
Very disappointed with this experience at Chophouse. We came here for the group banquet, and there was no flexibility offered whatsoever. We asked if we could all stick with the one dessert type, and was plainly told no . The steak options were decent, however we weren t asked how we d like our steak to be done. Also, there was not a trace of salt or pepper on the steaks, and none was available on the table either. The sauces were pretty poor as well, with a tiny amount offered, and not the usual sauces I d expect to see from a steakhouse. Chips were crunchy and thankfully had seasoning, the corn and salad were fine too. I was looking forward to the cookie and ice cream. It was quite good, except half way through - I couldn t eat any more as it was extremely sugary. If the sugar was toned down a bit it would have been an excellent option. The service was speedy, however didn t feel worth the price we paid for it. I ve been to Chophouse before and it s always been good, but I think I ll consider other options before coming back here
The meal was all delicious, and the service was outstanding, especially from Mr. Matt and the woman who looked after us. we came for our graduation. They truly brought us great joy.
They upsell you without telling you - they charge for sparkling and ask you which cut you want - and add $80 to your order - not sincere
We were very impressed by all the services and food. In the beginning, the food was a bit delayed, but Mr Matt checked on us and gave us some entrees to fill our tummy while we were waiting. When the food came, everything was excellent! The tomahawk steak and potato mash were incredibly amazing. All staff were friendly and attentive, especially Anne and Matt. They made our graduation celebration full of happiness. Thank you!
steak cooked to perfection.
Tomahawk
Nice little steakhouse in the city. Service was great.
Excellent entrees and mains. Had our work christmas party here and some beautifully cooked steaks. Dessert was sickly sweet i think, which was a shame because everything else was fantastic. Great night and highly recommeneded.
Mixed experience at a downtown chophouse in Sydney. Relatively slow service on a simple terrace. Simple menu but the food was underwhelming - aged steak didn t taste particularly aged, and they mixed my order up on a very quiet day. Should be better, all things considered
The staff is not friendly
It was very delicious
Fantastic experience here. Partner and I ordered the Wagyu rump and lamb chops. Our waiter, Elliot, had both attention to detail and initiative as he took the extra step to ask that the lamb chops be served on individual plates, and the wagyu rump presented for sharing. We hadn t asked, but once we understood what had happened, it definitely made the customer service feel 10/10! Food-wise, we d highly recommend the lamb (we got it with the signature mint jelly), as well as the cookie dessert. The lamb melts in your mouth and is cooked superbly, while the cookie dessert is the right balance of sweetness and comfort. The wagyu rump though cooked very evenly, was unfortunately a bit chewy (likely because it was the rump); I was a bit disappointed because it has an MB7+ rating. No big deal as the other dishes were great: the burrata appetiser (it was refreshing and light, yet filling because of the cheese and basil), and their chocolate block was also surprisingly good! Very smooth and creamy. Would recommend for milk chocolate lovers. Their steamed beans is also nice (my partner loved it as he likes beans; I found it was enjoyable and I liked the flavours). We both enjoyed our experience here, and would be open to coming again! My partner s comments are: You can feel and taste the care in each dish. Chophouse has left a good impression and high expectations for our next visit
The steak is really delicious. I made a reservation and visited.
zone. taste. mouth. you. all. Its so delicious
A must-try restaurant in Sydney. The steak is Wagyu beef mixed with Angus. Foreigners like beef that is not too oily and chewy. It has the freshness and sweetness of the beef but is not too old. The onion rings and French fries are all made with fresh ingredients. fry
Two people went and ate 300g sirloin, 200g tenderloin, mush potatoes, and onion fries. The atmosphere was nice and a server who could speak Korean helped us.
Amazing steak. Perfectly done
Exceptional service and amazing food! We will definitely be back!
I cant ask for the level of food. The prices are high, so I dont know why this restaurant is so popular...
Came in with my partner for a Valentine s Day dinner. Probably the best steak I have had, exactly how I asked for it and the sides were incredible. Service was so friendly and felt super warm and comfortable from the minute we came in. Will definitely return soon!
The service were excellent and the food is very delicious, definitely will come back again.
The staff are very friendly and, professional and the steak is quite good!
It was last meal in Sydney. We ordered double lamb chop 400g and dry aged t-bone 800g for 3ppl and both menu was really fantastic! Regret I didn t order more don t forget to order chips! I haven t wine but definitely well with Shiraz for sure!
The steak is reasonable considering Australian prices. There was a Korean staff member who helped me with my order. I almost overcharged by bringing another table bill when paying. (It was just a mistake, so it doesnt affect the star rating.) The atmosphere was reasonably casual so I didnt feel pressured.
My partner made a reservation here for my birthday tonight, As soon as we walked through the door there was a group of 5 men in suits absolutely intoxicated shouting from upstairs to one of their mates downstairs. That had already been a red flag for me. We were early for our reservation by 15-20mins and the lady at the front managed to get us a table early, The staff and service was awesome however for the food the appetizers / starters are an absolute joke $26 - $28 for 6 small prawns and $26 - $28 for 6 tiny slices of kingfish. We ordered a scotch filet and eye fillet both to be medium rare one was medium and the other one was pretty much raw. I also had to be the unlucky person to be sat next to the group of 5 intoxicated men who were carrying on, To be honest I felt like I was at a local pub just way more expensive. I would much rather have spent a little more and gone to the Epicurean at Crown as their buffet make a better steak than this establishment. I dont mind paying the price for good food but if definitely wasnt here nor was the atmosphere.
Don t get me wrong the service is amazing and we are regular customers but this time I m unimpressed. We ordered the tomahawk 1.3kg but then it was sold out and the lady recommended to upgrade to the 1.5kg We received it and it had only 300g of edible meat on it from a 1.5kg, the rest was slabs of fat. We are frequent buyers of this cut of meat so we know exactly how much meat we should be getting when ordering the 1.5kg.
A good overall experience. Service was a little lacking, we had to ask to order drinks/food after a 18 minute wait. Ordered some of the premium wines by the glass, no explanation or information given, just a Coravin at the table and pour, not even a smile .
Amazing! We arrived to a birthday greeting and by the wait staff who served us And staff were super attentive during the entire dinner (but not too much). The charcuterie board was delicious and the steak perfect. The little chocolate block dessert was filled with a beautiful Nutella ganache. Thank youe everyone !
We went there a few months ago and only got a chance to comment now. It might not be relevant anymore but I want to bring it here in case it still is.. Our experiences come in two parts, let s start with my personal experience. To put it simply, it s absolutely amazing and I wouldn t regret the price despite its being expensive. Food was amazing and knowledgeable/nice staff. Why did I put a two star on Services? I must bring up part two of our experience. I could relate to some of the comments here, one or two particular staff was just as horrible as it could be. My wife went to this restaurant once without me, she said there was one Asian waitress who was apparently being racist towards ASIANS (my wife and I are also Asian so no racism from us here). How did she know? Apparently that particular waitress got REALLY impatient, mean and never bothered to put a smile on her face when the customer was Asian but always had a big smile when serving non Asians. This was not a standalone case, we did search reviews from Asian focused social media and lots of people were having the same impression on the same girl! I m sure some of our friends decided to never go back because of this experience, I liked this restaurant and I hope the management could investigate and act on this.
Great steakhouse but will definitely make your wallet lighter! Their dry aged steak was top notch and the appetisers were a good build up before you devour the meat! Great selection of wines and beers! Service was good and our sever was very helpful with their recommendations. Steak was cooked perfectly! I would recommend working up an appetite before heading here to ensure you get good value for money!
Not only is the food delicious, but the service and atmosphere are also great. Compared to Korea, it is cost-effective. I had the tomahawk steak, fried squid, and mashed potatoes, and I recommend them all~
From starters to desserts, the food was tasty and high standard. The experience is even better thanks to the staff ! Dietary restrictions: The staff know what they do, just inform them about any specialist dietary, and they will assist and find a solution
Great steak, come and try it out
Everything was great, from the service to the food and to the cocktails, I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning.
First of all, the steak wasn t as good as the reviews mentioned. Major disappointment. Maybe try the dry aged meat, not the fillet, or perhaps try somewhere else. The mashed potatoes were really good but it didn t come with gravy at the time of my visit. The tables are somewhat crowded as well. The waiters are quite friendly but not the manager. :(
All in all, a great experience! Delicious food, friendly service and yummy cocktails! Entrees of Zucchini flowers and garlic prawns were moreish, Stuffed zucchini flower. Deliciously crispy on the outside, flavoursome on the inside! Perfectly seasoned and a great texture combination. King Prawns, garlic butter, soft herb. Simply moreish! Balanced flavours and cooked well! Mains of steaks all around were tender, juicy and well seasoned. Sides were Delicious! Onion rings perfectly crispy, creamy mash, Steamed green beans cooked to perfection- not mushy and not too crispy. The only disappointment would have to be the lack of appealing desserts. Overall, recommended!
Dined here with a couple of friends when we came to Sydney and was amazed by the food and service! We ordered a range of shares and mains off the menu and it did not disappoint, everything was cooked to perfection loaded with flavour. I ordered the Wagyu Steak which was delicious! The service was amazing also, had a laugh with the maître d when we were paying the bill and she was so lovely and kind! Will definitely be returning when I m back in Syd
We had lunch here after receiving a gift voucher. The staff were friendly and engaging, the food and drinks were amazing. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Dry aged T bone was cooked perfectly, best steak I have had. We were a family of four and every single dish we had was outstanding, even the mash potato was perfect. Service was very attentive and everyone was very welcoming. Cant wait to come back again.
Really nice tasty steak!
It was a restaurant I really liked. The service was great and the food tasted good. I ordered T-bone steak starting at 700g, so I didnt order any other steaks because it was a large portion. The oyster dish looked delicious, but I regretted not ordering it. There was unlimited sparkling, so I drank it often and the staff kept refilling it.
Had an amazing dinner here to celebrate a birthday. All the food was great and there were lots of wines to choose from. Our server (Luca) was incredible. Very friendly and efficient with making sure our wine glasses were always full and taking us through the menu and speicals. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a lovely steakhouse for a nice dinner.
The food is delicious and flavorful, so this is a steak restaurant you must try when you come to Sydney. Reservation before going is essential.
Really lovely dinner there, went midweek and so wasnt packed full but still a nice atmosphere around the place. Menu was nice a simple, not overloaded with options which was nice. Wine list was huge, but nicely laid out too so easy to navigate given we didnt know much about wine. Food was fantastic and the waiters were brilliant. Our waiter Luca was so hospitable and the service was so fluid and perfect.
My partner and I both had the scotch fillet and both agreed it was the best steak wed ever eaten! Cooked to perfection. The service was also excellent. The place has a really great vibe. We will definately be back.
Brought my family who came from Japan and we all loved their aged T bone and Sirloin steaks! All the waiters are really helpful and welcoming! It was absolutely an excellent dining experience in sydney! Highly recommend for those who seek for the best steak.
Sydneys first steakhouse, no words needed :)
A high quality, carne-driven menu that cannot disappoint. Atmospheric, intimate and with great service. Strongly suggest this venue for romantic dining or to celebrate life with friends.
Very nice mood and delicious food...
There was hype about chophouse steaks, so we went there but I will be honest, the steak was nice, the cook was beautiful but not out of this world. Everything else around the steak was average. Atmosphere was awesome. Dietary restrictions: Meat is Halal, which is absolutely brilliant.
Limited menu, but whats available was great, super affordable, standard and led to an all round great night. That caramel cookie was fantastic.
$5.50 for unlimited sparkling water but they take the bottle away and never refilled my glass. Would have asked for more if I knew the price was that steep! But of course there s no mention of the cost until the bill.
Very delicious food. The steak was heavenly, and the lamb chops were cooked to perfection. We tried two sides, mashed potatoes and onion rings and both were amazing. Also the drink collection is stunning, better than most steakhouses I have seen. Staff were so helpful, friendly and good looking. All in all the experience was fantastic. The only suggestion I have is, to put a little time on decorating the foods. Although simplicity is beautiful but a little artistic touch can make a big difference.
Superb service and outstanding food. Highly recommended! Food
Steak was amazing. Melted in my mouth
