This is a tiny speak easy that has insanely delicious food. The table shares one huge T-Bone steak that is grilled one way. They recommend 400g per person but if we did not have the sides I could easily see myself packing away 600g, but I'm American. The front half of the restaurant is a waiting area while your table is readied, while the closed off back half has the grill and eating area.

The steak is very good , some of the sides are perhaps only ok or small but the cauliflower and the pasta sides are amazing. Sommelier service was outstanding but the table service was a little underwhelming and we were asked to move to the bar for dessert to make the table available. Also it is difficult to separate the bill, everyone had to agree to eat the same as all steak must be ordered upfront and shared. . Additional 10 percent charged for table of 9. Better for smaller group or couple I would say.

I must give my very high compliments to the services provided by Bistecca. My cup was never empty and I do not need to pour water for myself. Every waitress passing by will automatically notice and help me fill my cup. I told them that my steak is a bit burnt on the outside, causing a bit bitter taste. They offered to cook me a new one and heating my side dishes up as well as they were cold after the 15 min wait. They are so nice and kind. Also, their cocktail and side dishes are delicious. They are way above my expectations that I had to order more. Finally, the steak is nicely cooked, juicy inside with simple salt and pepper as seasonings.

This restaurant is on the basement located in a back street that you enter through an Fire Exit door with dim light and narrow staircase. Reservation is a must, at least a month in advance for lunch and 3 months in advance for dinner. There's only one main course - the beef Steak, with choices of entrees and side dishes. The steak was well grilled/cooked above charcoal to the right tenderness of our choice of medium rare, medium, or well cooked. The steak was then cut into bite size so that we could enjoy the steak right away. It's a good experience to see the aged beef steak cooked in front of the fire. Unfortunately, all of restaurant guests' mobile phones were kept away in a locked drawer that no photograph taken was allowed during the dining time.

Had a solo dining experience and it was great. Entrance was quite hard to find and you question yourself more after you enter it. But once you are in the bar area, you are welcome by the great hospitality of the restaurant. No phone policy so no food pics but definitely one of the best Ribeyes I have tried. Do note if you are alone is that the min weight of the steak is 600g so be sure you can finish it as I barely did (but it taste great so should be fine). The service is great with everything taken care of and always checking in if I am alright. I was also given a few gourmet dining magazine to pass time while waiting for the food to come. Will be back with my wife for sure when I visit Sydney again

Mixed feelings about Bistecca. We booked as it's well talked about and we previously went to the Gidley by the same group which was fabulous. Located in a laneway just off George Street, the entrance to the subterranean steakhouse is via what looks like a fire door. Down some stairs and the another door opens to the bar area which is dark, moody and really lush. Old world New York vibes. We sat at the bar and ordered cocktails while we waited for everyone to arrive. Cocktails were solid, good start. We were ushered into the dining room shortly after and the servers ran through the venue and listed their recommendations. The venue has one main, steak so the starters and sides are what make up the varierty. The standouts from the starters were the pizza dough ricotta and the beetroot, feta and kale. The squid was a miss, served cold and a bit bland. The Bone marrow, prosciutto crust was also a bit lacklustre. From the sides, the potatoes were a standout as was the radicchio, walnut, feta, grapes salad.Brussel sprouts were also good. When ordering the steak, the server goes through the whole spiel of how much to order, how to have it cooked, etc etc. We definitely over ordered the steak and could have done with much less but there is almost a bit of pressure to go large we felt. The steak was good but for sure, thinner strips probably would have been preferred by us all. The staff know their jobs but the service is a bit impersonal, especially compared to their cousin The Gidley where the staff are wonderfully witty and attentive. Overall glad to have experienced Bistecca and there were some great moments but probably won't rush back. Oh and phones aren’t allowed. I have mixed feelings about this. Most adults are capable of not being consumed by their phones when out enjoying dinner so not keen for someone to tell me to hand my phone over.

This is the third time I've been to Bistecca, and it still remains one of my favourite restaurants. From the moment you stepped into the restaurant, you felt so welcomed. The only main, the T-bone steak, was again perfectly cooked. We had roasted potatoes, Brussels sprouts, white beans, and egg plants as sides. Everything was so delicious. Last but not least, the beef fat candle really impressed my friends. The waitor offered us a second serve of bread to soak up all the fat after it was burnt and melted. I highly recommend it!

Bistecca is an experience as well as dining for a first timer. Anniversary dinner at Bistecca was a good choice. Meat was cooked beautifully and we liked the sides. The wine recommendation from staff was a win. We found the idea of locking phones away interesting and for us refreshing too, to see people actually talking to each other, although our parents were skeptical and chose to keep phones with them - we appreciated the idea.

Quite on the pricey side for a rustic type of place but food was excellent. Steak was superbly well cooked at a perfect medium rare. Great crust. Well rested. Session throughout. Sure were fabulous. We started off with a light salad entre of beetroot and fried kale which was quite tasty and the bone marrow half pipes with a pecorino crust. To go with the steak we had a refreshing but nicely seasoned radicchio salad with fire roasted grapes, the roasted potatoes, charred Brussel sprouts and the soft polenta with fontina cheese and truffle (which I would order again and again). Wines were good. Drinks I had were ok also. Service was friendly. No phones allowed

Dined here on a Sunday night, craving a proper steak experience and was not disappointed. Sat at the single chefs table. Ambience is warm but still spacious, like a modern aussie version of a tuscan hole in the wall. The host was amazing and the staff is unhurried The beef tallow, duck fat and rosemary candle with bread was served as a table starter. Really aromatic and opened up the nose. I ordered the marrow as an entree with a glass of cab sauv blend. Perfect flavour-packed crust with an intense, juicy marrow. Got the taste buds fired up and tingling ready for the mains. 600g of steak (min order) and brussel sprouts. Ordered rare+ and maybe came out more straight rare but Ill eat anything as long as it doesnt moo. Still, super tender and easy to chew through. Didnt have to be overly fatty like high grade wagyu and the meat was allowed to speak for itself. The brussel sprouts, sour cream & pecorino were an absolute god send to alleviate the weight of the meat. An absolute must-order as a side dish. The only points of improvement could maybe have been the cocktail (Bianco e Negro / Black & White) which got a tiny bit singular tonally and whilst it helped open up the taste buds, didnt really do it for me aromatically. When contrasted to the massive slab of steak, lacked a bit of depth. I could have consulted the bar and ordered something more typical to a negroni here. Being encouraged to part with ones phone isnt actually that big of an ask when the senses are being constantly stimulated and two hours flew by. Carve out a minimum 120mins in your schedule to dine here well. Kid-friendliness: No under 18s allowed.

Was a disappointing visit this time around. Staff were not very attentive. We ran out of focaccia, and our candle had melted and gone hard by the time someone paid attention to us trying to flag someone down. When our steak arrived, it was just dumped, and the waiter ran away before I could ask for some meat to be cooked a little more. Had to keep chasing them to top up our wine since the bottles are not left on the table. Also, please sharpen your bloody knives, you are a steak joint for crying out loud. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible at all, not recommended for people who find steepz dark stairs a challenge.

Not many restaurants can create a cult following with just one dish on the menu. Bistecca is one of those. Like many have said, they lock away your mobile phones the moment you re seated. Bread and beef-fat candle was served as appetisers. To pair with the 1Kg steak we ordered, we also had brussels sprouts, pizza dough, beetroot and roast potato. Steak was medium-rare perfection, basked in butter oil, spices and whatever magic dust they are using. The crusting and smokiness really adds to the richness of the meat. Without the phones, the three of us really talked, laughed and enjoyed each other s company, albeit we can t show off the beautiful meal to anyone the next day. Will definitely make a reservation the next time I m In Sydney.

This is 3rd or 4th time we have been there. The food is always good. There were 5 of us and we racked up a very healthy bill - that was expected so nothing surprising as it is a great venue. I did have an issue after, having spent so much, to being rushed off our table given we had just finished our steaks and being asked to order desert in the bar. As a result we did not have desert which the waiter was somewhat surprised! He seemed more interested in getting the table reset for the next sitting. A little piece of tiramisu and a candle for the 70th birthday boy. I think you can do better.

Having tried to book to place on numerous times without success we manage to get a last minute booking by chance. You know you have hit the right spot when all they do is 1 main dish and that is the good old T-Bone steak or Bistecca as it is known back in Italy. If you want the best steak in town you can t go wrong with Bistecca! They cook it to perfection on their coal BBQ giving you that lovely smoke charr flavour from coals. I can t wait to be able to get another booking again! Please be aware they have a no phone policy so that you can enjoy your Bistecca with your friends without the constant beeping of your phones.

The atmosphere is very nice. I wonder if the reason for the good reviews is not because of the taste but because of the atmosphere.. It takes a long time for the steak to come out.... I ordered cauliflower side because I thought it would be greasy, but the smell was musty. It wasnt a side that would neutralize the greasiness of the meat. The default cooking is medium rare and you can request changes. The steak was personally so-so. It wasnt that soft... I wasnt expecting too much, but it turned out to be a really delicious steak that I didnt want to eat again. The Outback Tomahawk was more delicious. The kindness wasnt pleasant either.

Bistecca is an absolute gem in Sydney. Everything was excellent and I think you would struggle to find better anywhere. The low key entrance, the venue itself and its lock box to put your phones in before eating is genius and I hope the idea catches on at more places as it made the whole experience just so much better. The service was impeccable and all the food was what you would expect. It is a little unusual in that its very much a sharing menu centered around exactly one kind of steak, the bistecca fiorentina so everyone has to have it cooked the same way and its priced by weight. Id add photos but as my phone was locked up there arent any! Vegetarian options: Vegetarians should go here to be converted :)

After waiting for a special occasion to book this restaurant we found the experience underwhelming. My wife made sure to book a table 30 days before 13 September and to make sure she was online at 7am right when booking was available. She was surprised to find there was only a 5.30pm or 9.30pm spots available. Because of the restaurants limited availability we had high expectations. The waitress was nice however the food not so much. I am going to be completely honest, I found Bistecca in my eyes to be way overrated. I was expecting an unforgettable experience however it fell short. I was awaiting a spiritual awaking like I do at a selected few steak restaurants and especially like I do at the little brother restaurant The Gidley. The lighting was dim and set the mood, the decor was qwerky and neat plus the candle butter was the highlight. I think a major factor that missed the mark was my tastebuds not getting tickeled and a lack of satisfaction in the aroma department. You know that scented smokey smell you get through out The Gidley and Bay St near Margaret? I was expecting that. However i do have to say the meat was tender but was bland. If I were to recommend a steak restaurant to friends and family, Bistecca wont make the list and the patrons that accompanied me would agree. Edit: First we emailed the venue directly to give feedback however received no response.

Not exactly sure what the hype is about here but I followed and booked a spot. Had to walk in a lane way that smelt disgusting you had to cover your nose, go down a stairwell and into a bar. So, felt that we had to purchase drinks prior to our sitting. The decor and furniture was old and quirky so cute! Sat down and and our phones were taken away (this I dont love) there were conversation I was having that needed my phone for reference so that was annoying. Also, was not aware that the steak is actually the main course. You do not have a choice of anything else so the steak is picked and then you select the sides and entree. To be honest, I wasnt a fan the sides Or entree but the steak was nice. There was pics on their Instagram that I would of loved to order but the waitress said that none of those are on the menu. Hard to find parking Not kid friendly Sides are vegetarian Definitely did not see any wheelchair access.

This review is a month late but I just thought Bistecca deserves a good review. So, my husband and I had our late lunch there. We ordered the steak, an appetizer, a wine, and a bread with edible candle as the dip (complimentary) . Even though it was too dark for me inside the resto, overall, it was a great experience. Pricey but very worth it. Use of cellular phones are not allowed inside the dining room. They will ask you to put it in a locker. Make sure to book a reservation beforehand.

How can a restaurant survive with only one main dish? Plus the entrance is a fire exit door that looks like its leading into a dungeon. Well this one thrives!!! Deservedly so! The Fiorentina steak is cooked on wood coals and its cooked perfectly. You just order it by the kilo then order sides. The brussels sprouts & cauliflower sides are great! The bone marrow is a must order. Leave room for the Tiramisu too. Service is wonderful the staff are engaged, efficient but not intrusive. A must for the carnivores Oh! Your mobile phones go to prison for the duration of your dining experience.

Was happy that our hotel managed to get us a reservation at the last minute for the day after! Albeit odd timing at 230pm. Watching the steaks getting cut- steak was really nicely done. Very good steaks! Would have preferred to keep my phone on me- I know it s just one of the things the restaurant wants diners to enjoy the meal. But would have loved to save a memory of the meal to recommend friends as well. Would suggest having more sauces (again- no insult to the chef, but personal preference). Can consider having creamed spinach on the menu. Potatoes nicely done, Brussel sprouts a tad burnt but sauce was super tasty Had wine and a cocktail and the restaurant also nicely gave us some tiramisu for our anniversary.

I was so satisfied after my May visit that I made my second visit yesterday. If you tasted the best steak of your life in May, Yesterday I ate the most salty steak Ive ever eaten in my life. The taste of the meat itself was okay, but the amount of salt added to it made my mouth tingle. The staff grilling the meat were different from when I went in May and yesterday. Could that be the reason? Anyway, I dont think I will visit again.

Bistecca is simply one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the speakeasy-ish entrance to the welcoming bar and the phone-free dining room I felt like I was on an adventure. The service was fast and friendly, but not pushy. The steak, oh my gosh, the steak. From the moment I took my first breath in the dining room, I knew I was in for a treat and I was not disappointed. Our 600g T-bone for Two was perfectly prepared and the wine recommendation was a perfect pairing. I will be back every chance I get!

Food was ok but the service and environment was terrible. Aggressive waiters reaching over/bumping into me nonstop to lay plates, cutlery then remove and repeat, the whole night. As others have pointed out, gimmicky - taking away phones bc they dont want people to talk on their phones (as if anyone is able to, the restaurant is noisy as). Why no photos allowed? Plenty of photos taken of the interior and food and uploaded on Google. Tiramisu and other dessert, average. Candle steak fat? Gimmicky. And overpriced. Would never go back nor recommend.

I love this place! Its the second time Ive had dinner here, and its always great and unique. I really like the idea of them taking away phones its nice to be free of distractions. The bread with the beef tallow candle is delicious! They offer a variety of entrées and sides, and the steak is among the best in Sydney. I usually avoid Italian restaurants due to them being obnoxious and rude, however this one was different, service was excellent, staff were very pleasant! I liked the atmosphere, dim lights and how they set up the tables, plenty room between them, so you don t have to listen to your neighbors. As for food, I am not gone lie my favorite was the melting wax and bread:) Had two salads and liked both. Bone marrow wasn t that special. Steak was nice, but I have never had a steak that wasn t nice:) At the end we were very full and there were no room left for desert, however they gave us a small complementary tiramisu, it was just right portion and yummy, thank you! All in all, it was a pleasant experience.

Recently dined here with my husband for a Saturday lunch. Having to book a month in advance for a Saturday lunch is frustrating - the restaurant wasnt even full! We were not impressed when we were told min steak is 600g - this is not stated on your website and Im pretty sure this against ACCC Consumer Law. Found the candle beef a bit of a waste, the sommelier asked if we wanted it relit I said no, she asked if I was going to try it and I said no - she looked offended when I said no. Sorry but I have no desire to dip bread in melted fat. Was also not really happy when we were told the steak would be cooked medium rare - it was more on the rare side, I had to send pieces back to be recooked. Also what really annoyed me was when the sommelier took the sparkling water bottle, refilled it and returned it, we were then charged for two bottles - not once did she ask if wed like another bottle. Yes its only a bottle of water but its the principle, you dont just make assumptions. The tiramisu was extremely strong and all the alcohol had seeped down the bottom, so much so that I after a few bites I was done. The food was nice, the steak was tender but for all the hype it isnt anything really unique or special. Also found the no phone rule a bit wanky. Would I return? No probably not, also recently dined at 6Head and found that to be a much more enjoyable experience.

Stock photos from Instagram We dined at Bistecca yesterday, and I can truly say it lived up to the expectations. As an ex chef I was so excited to be dining at Bistecca as I d heard it was amazing. From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable, we ordered drinks at the bar before we were invited to sit at our table. They have a strict no mobile phone policy which allows you to enjoy the ambiance. We ordered some starters, and beautiful house baked focaccia appeared for the table. Our sommelier suggested a beautiful bottle of red wine from Tuscany, which complimented all the food perfectly. We went with the waitresses suggestion of two sides with our steak. The potatoes, rocket and Parmesan salad were a perfect balance of flavour and texture. The meat was amazing, perfectly cooked medium rare and was honestly the best steak I have ever eaten. The weight suggested was perfect for four adults and left us some room for the amazing desserts. We had tiramisu and affogato to finish. 10/10 food, 10/10 service and 10/10 ambiance. Thank-you for an amazing experience, we will definitely be back

Ate solo at Bistecca. Overall, an excellent experience but for a few small warts. Atmosphere: as a solo diner, I was at the chefs table , which was just a barstool right by the kitchen. I didn t particularly mind, but you re right in the middle of everything, and I can see how someone might not enjoy the experience, particularly being right next to the grill which gave off quite a bit of heat. They also enforce a no-phone policy, which I personally appreciated, but also meant there was no way to document anything. As a single diner, sitting with my thoughts for 75 minutes was fine. Food: they take great care to create an incredible steak. That s what you re coming here for - the steak - and you could see it being carved, seasoned, grilled on a legitimate wood-fired grill, and then brought to temp in an oven. The meat quality, the preparation, and the serving were all top tier. It had a great smoky crust with incredible flavor. I ordered mine medium rare, and some of the cut was a bit closer to rare, but I d rather the temp be more rare than more well-done. I also had a side of Brussels sprouts, which were great. My only knock was I found a massive hair in my bread. To Bistecca s credit, they apologized profusely and comped me a glass of wine. Service: prompt and cordial, no complaints here even as the restaurant became busy. Overall: the steak is the center of the show, and the steak shines. It s some of the best steak you ll find in Sydney. The no-phone policy, odd seating arrangement, and minimum 600g requirement for steak means solo diners might not have the best overall experience, but if you re looking to have a great steak, it s absolutely the place for you.

Literally the best restaurant Ive ever been to in my life. Insane. And its not just the food, but the entire atmosphere and experience. P.s. I dont really like cocktails but I had their homemade cocktail and it was I recommend getting as many entrees as possible so you can taste everything, and then have the meat as the main. To start with Bread and candle butter is good but the bread could definitely be more airy and crunchy. Best bone marrow I had so far. The prosciutto crispy on top doesn t affect the taste of it and the lemon wedge to squeeze it with actually tastes delicious. We had roast potatoes and broccoli and the sides also don t disappoint. We loved the red spicy sauce under the crispy roasted potatoes and the broccoli was cooked to perfection with a nice crunchy along with a good yoghurt sauce. Me and my partner love steaks but we aren t a fan of T-bone. For a T-bone I don t think you can get any better. We would be back if the restaurant had other cuts of meat. Overall it was a 8/8.5 for us.

Delicious!! I went for dinner with my partner and we hope to return soon! We ordered the cheese with honey and OMG as a starter. As an accompaniment to the meat, the zucchini were very delicious and the potatoes were what we liked the least because the sauce was very strong. The meat was perfect and the tiramisu was the perfect ending. We loved it and we will definitely return. Oh and the service is very good too :) PS I recommend arriving earlier and having a snack at the bar, they surprised us for the better.

Had a Friday night dinner with a good friend, the service was friendly and attentive. The taking of the phones before officially starting the meal was an interesting experience, we didnt mind it as we usually arent on our phones when we dine out, but the one and only downside was no food photos lol Only managed to take a couple of pics in the bar area while waiting to head into the dining room. We started with complimentary bread and the dip came in the form of a candle - it was a fun concept and tasty too. For our entrees we ordered the pecorino, beef tonnato, bone marrow, squid and pizza dough, and for our main the waiter recommended the 880g bistecca for us to share. We had the brussel sprouts, zucchini, roast potato for sides and finished with tiramisu and panna cotta. The steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare for us) and seasoned well, no extra salt or pepper was needed. Definitely recommend all the dishes we had - the flavours were all on point, each dish was well presented and absolutely delicious. We already want to dine here again.

Best steak in Sydney by far! Unfortunately you cannot have your phones inside so we didnt take any pictures of our food. We knew we wanted to order a large portion of steak so we didnt order too many side items. We ordered 850g for two and it was the perfect amount. We could have even ordered more. For sides we ordered the potatoes and the calamari. The focaccia bread and candle butter to start was delicious. The crust on the t bone was also to die for. Highly recommend the calamari as it is unique and tasteful. The potatoes were also lovely. And the bone marrow... WOW!! For dessert we ordered an affogato non alcoholic and a tiramisu. Everything was absolutely perfect. The wait staff was prompt and kind. The whole experience was just amazing. Perfect for a date night or celebration where you can experience this with one another. Great food and ambiance. Went to Bistecca for a work dinner on a Wednesday evening. We were quickly seated in the private wine room due to the size of our party. Very private area but missing out on a bit of the action from their massive grill in the main room. They do ask you to hand in your phone lock them away to get the full experience of the food and the company you are with. Food is very delicious all from the starters, the amazing Bistecca steaks and a cheeky tiramisu for dessert. Would recommend everyone who get the opportunity to visit.

Horrible online booking system. I had to make a reservation one month in advance for this restaurant just for the service to be appalling. My friends and I arrived on time and was told to wait in the waiting area. Other people who arrived after us were brought into the dining room first and we were left waiting. No one approached us to bring us in and we had to ask the waitress to be brought in. The waiter took our food plate away very roughly every time. My plate still had food on it and was taken away and the waiter did not ask if I was finished with it. We were only given 1 menu to share between 5 people, whereas the table next to us all had one menu each. This restaurant does not deserve the high ratings given the poor service and average food.

Reliably good T-bone steak and food, plus good sommelier recommendations from the all-Italian wine list. Fun ambiance and a good restaurant to visit regularly. Have been back to dine several times since writing the above, but never just to drink at the bar, as I did with a good friend yesterday afternoon. We ended up staying for a few hours and several cocktails. We ordered the initial two, and then, inspired by the interest and knowledge of our mixologist, Pru, we just went with her recommendations. They were excellent! We both tried drinks we wouldn t normally have ordered, but thoroughly enjoyed. Pru was excellent and we d highly recommend a discussion with her about your drinks when you re at Bistecca.

An exceptional experience from the moment you enter. You feel like you are entering a special place. We started with some delicious hand crafted drinks expertly mixed by Zack. We then moved into the dining area. Again, it felt like we were in for something special. Their menu is basically beautifully cut and perfectly cooked Florentine steaks. Thick cut with the bone, meant to be shared by the table. For 6 people, we had 2 kg. Keep in mind this includes the bone. Along with meat is an extensive list of side dishes including salad, potatoes, vegetables... All interesting, and delicious. Nothing overly complicated or pretentious, just pure, simple good food. Our sommelier , Sheila was always there to help us make the right choices. We had a couple of great bottles of Italian reds. And something special they did made sure that we were all engaged and talking to each other, laughing and sharing the moment. Bravo to you! I wish more restaurants did this. All in all, one of my favorite dining experiences ever.

It would be wrong of me to offer anything other than five stars, as we didn t eat here. However, after reading other reviews, we thought we d try for a table on the spur of the moment. The main entry is a back street fire exit which is reached via a dimply lit street, punctuated by taxi drivers pulling ip for a piss against the wall. The entry is a purely industrial fire escape. Sadly for us, there was no availability but the basement bar reception area was offered with a limited menu. The whole area stinks of drains. People are actually eating and drinking in there . Presumably, they are going for the reputation but hopefully, the atmosphere and experience are what most reviews crack the place up to be. First impressions for a first timer are first rate dismal.

They do take away your mobile phone and lock them away so you actually have a conversation (hence no photos to go with this post). The evening progressed very well with lots of conversations, some entrees, 1.6Kg Bistecca shared amongst 4 and a few sides to go with it. We ended with sharing a tiramisu, a ruhbabb panna cotta and a whiskey cocktail. Over all an amazing experience. Would certainly vist again and recommend.

It seems like its really hot. Its crowded with people... Personally, I live in a basement and grill steak over an open fire. The smell and air were not good. But the side dish is really delicious... I think it was worth a visit at least once.

I hope you love steak! A great experience, and delicious all round. The steak was of course amazing, size cut to your liking from a slab of beef and cooked perfectly before your eyes over charcoal. The sides were fantastic as well! We took a gamble on the Brussels Sprouts, and my goodness, they were amazing! Dont let their reputation put you off, these sprouts were rich and packed with flavour, the perfect companion to the steak. Polenta was another winner which I can recommend. Service was quick and attentive. Our burrata entree was served in minutes, followed closely by our main, which was welcome as we were in the late seating. We made good use of their in house sommelier who made great paired wine recommendations after we finished enjoying the cocktails we ordered at the bar on arrival.

OMG!! This is the best place steakhouse I have ever been to!!! It was a really great way to end our family vacation back in September of 2023. Australia is known for their beef and that was our goal. Our concierge was the one who booked the reservation. The main entrance looks empty as if you were going to a storage unit, until you walk into a 1920s speakeasy. First, is the bar then in the back is the restaurant. Second you will be asked to lock away your phones, so no pictures available. The restaurant wants you to experience the food. Third, you have to eat the candle . Service was excellent and it was great to reconnect with my family after some difficult times we have faced! Bistecca is about connection with each other and the food!

The ambience was amazing from entry to exit. I absolutely adored the attention to detail with the decor from the choice of lamps, brick ceiling to look underground, frames for photos to the candles. The service was great and so friendly, the waiter gave great suggestions and was very interactive throughout the night. The food was perfection! I ve never had a steak better than what I enjoyed here and the entrees/starters were amazing with perfectly combined flavours. An absolute 10/10 Parking: We parked in a nearby Wilson secure parking facility.

Fantastic. Would recommend to others and I ll certainly be back. Love the atmosphere and decor. The entire experience from entering through the fire exit in the back alley, to waiting in the bar area, to entering the dining room and locking up our phones. The theatre of the beef fat candle and open kitchen was great. Staff relaxed and attentive making you feel very welcome. Food was top notch and I think their prices are very reasonable.

We really enjoyed the experience and meal on our anniversary. The only criticism was for the cocktails. The two cocktails sounded much more complex but in reality were quite simple when we finally got our drinks. Theyre far too expensive for what they were....but other than that, the steak was fantastic. Next time Ill stick with your wines and beer selection for drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
