Came in for lunch and got the tom yum fried rice and vermicilli noodles with chicken. Both dishes tasted ok and had decent flavour, but nothing which was like flavour explosion WOW. Customer service was great and food came out pretty quick. Worth a visit if you are in the area and feel like Thai food.
Great service! I loved the service here, the staff were so friendly and attentive. I ordered mhu grob pad prik khing, pad thai, steamed rice, and par tuhng go. I really liked the pad prik khing, which had a great balance of flavors and just the right amount of spice. The crispy pork added a nice texture to the dish. The pad thai and par tuhng go were decent, but nothing too special. The portions were generous, though, and everything was well-presented. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, making it a great place for a casual meal. I might come back because of the high-quality service and the pad prik khing 🫶🏻
We ate at Chat Thai every day while vacationing in Sydney for 3 days. This is the best Thai restaurant outside Thailand you shouldn’t miss if you are in the area. Food here is true/authentic with organic ingredients from their own farm. Menu has many interesting dishes, hard to find dishes, made to order. Staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Chat Thai, you won’t be disappointed. We wish we had this restaurant in the US.
Great spot for Thai but food isn’t as good as their original Haymarket branch. Portions are on the smaller side compared to other spots. Booked a table for lunch and still had to wait 10-15mins for the table to be cleared and ready.
Ordered the Barramundi with mango salad and cashew chicken. both tasted great. The mango salad provides such a nice kick for tje entire dish. Love it!! Aroy Mak! อร่อย!! Service was superb. The lady who served us (Boo) was so nice and welcoming. When i ask for some chilli sauce, she took the initiative and brought me some additional seafood sauce for me to pair with the fish. Can’t find any reasons to give anything under 5stars. I guess that’s also why this restaurant has such a long queue.
We ordered Pad Thai and Pad siEw. I thought the Pad Si-Ew was decent and I asked for extra vegetables. The restaurant was nice inside Westfield but it was a bit hard to find. The staff was lovely but it was very busy, so make sure you book in advance especially for dinners. We went on a Thursday night. I would come back to try other dishes.
Located in the busy Pitt St Westfield, this is a place that serves authentic Thai food. It gets very busy during lunch and dinner, so I would recommend booking, but they also ccept walk ins if you don't mind waiting. Due to it being busy, it took a while for someone to get our order, and the food did take a while to come out. However, once they got it rolling, the food came out in a pretty timely manner. Everything was delicious so I do not have any complaints in that area, which is the most important! It is difficult to get staff's attentuon at times but they are friendly. Overall a good dining experience and would definitely go back again when visiting Sydney CBD.
They serves some of the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted in Sydney! Overall the dishes are bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. What really stood out to me was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient, even though we kept changing our minds and went back and forth with our orders. They ensured we had a wonderful dining experience. Surely will come back again.
I had yummy pad Thai, with a nice cold soft drink for a reasonable price, especially for the city. The massaging beef was pretty good. The Penong chicken was so incredibly spicy you couldnt taste anything other than spice. The staff were friendly. I would definitely go back when Im in the city next.

Very slow service. Took nearly 45 mins to get out meals. Very small portion and over price. Came in Saturday and said they were on break. Don t recommend it at all

I got the chicken pad see ew and it was incredibly average. Very flavourful, but a bit tangy (sour) and it tasted like they poured the lemon juice in themselves (no lemon served with dish). Considering it was $19, not worth it. Service was also not great, one server tried to get me to sit down when I was lining up for order at the counter, and I told her I was ready to order; there were plenty of seats and I was carrying Christmas shopping alone. I got served the dish and no napkin, and I saw one lone tissue box out of the several tables around me being used by a family. I asked a server for a tissue and she pointed me to another side of the restaurant facing the kitchen to get a tissue from the tissue box myself. Not coming here again.

Delicious Shrimp Paste Relish Fried Rice with Mackerel, Acacia Omelette accompanied by delicious shrimp paste sauce. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Waited 40 mins and still no waiter bothered to take our order. I called them so many times but still they did not bother taking our order. Absolutely pathetic service. We just left from there after spending a substantial amount of time.

I ve been here a few times, and this is the WORST experience we ever had by your RUDE server named MAY. The place was busy at that time, and when people tried to leave, there was a crowd, and many people were trapped. We were seated at a table near the exit, so I had to stand up several times to let people out. The first time was fine, but by the third times, it was getting annoying, and it was clear the layout was poorly designed. So, we asked politely to the server, MAY, if we could move to another table. She agreed and told us to wait, then another server, who was aware of what we asked, seated someone else at that table and MAY noticed that HAPPENED. Leaving us sitting there in confusion, MAY never returned to explain or apologize until after our food had been served. Only then did she come back, and rather than address the confusion politely, she arrogantly asked, Why do you want to move? without any apology. Havent finished our complaint she cuts us off twice with We have tables in the back. If that s the case, why not move the other people back there instead? Then, without any sign of remorse, she laughed at us and walked away. This experience left us questioning why such unprofessional behavior is tolerated among your staff.

The most unpalatable food I have ever eaten in Sydney is the tom yum goong soup from this restaurant It s like drinking sea water, one mouthful is full of sand, except for three very fishy shrimps and a little enoki mushroom, it s super sour and smells like fermentation The smell is not spicy at all; I only took two sips of the soup, while my friend drank more. I got stomachache and diarrhea after going shopping in the afternoon Also, no outside food or drinks are allowed! Dont go! ! !
Went here for lunch but the experience is underwhelming. My wife got her food (fried pork belly) in no time, but mine (tomyum noodle) came almost 20mins after. The pork is hard and the tomyum only has 4 small pieces of squid, a prawn and a half-ish of boiled egg. Not really enough for the price (around $20ish). We used to like this place, but this time around the experience is not good.
This place is always busy and the food is always fantastic. Have tried a few dishes but the standout for me is the stir fried vegetables. Service is always amazing. All round great Thai and why I ve been back three or four times now.

Great service, waitresses who were polite and helpful. Atmosphere was calm. Food was on point. Would totally recommend! One point of feedback is the desserts, I feel they were lacking slightly. Otherwise great service overall and nice atmosphere!

Alot of diff choices, not like the ordinary thai restaurant. Alot of things I wanted to try. Ordered fried eggplant, could be more crispy. Pork jowl salad was yummy. Beef massmuum curry very tender. Steam snapper was abit spicy for me. Overall very good food, excellent service and didnt have to wait long.

Food, service, and atmosphere on point! Food came out quick, perfect temperature with good presentation, service was prompt with smiles all around. Atmosphere was buzzing, even on a Wednesday evening. The service staff is very good. The food is delicious and the price is affordable at all. Next time will have to come back to eat again. I just dont live in Sydney.

Found a dead maggot/bug in my food and it grossed me out but all they did is give me a new one and said sorry abt that. Also I ordered a pork belly thing but the plate was filled with rice and veg and only a couple of pieces of meat. Dont recommend lol

Ive loved Chat Thai and enjoy their food. Recently Ive noticed the dishes are not what they used to be. I had a tom yum soup. It contained 1 prawn. 2 pieces of calamari and half a boiled egg, noodles and soup. For $23 Thats madness.

We ordered the red curry pork belly, yum woon sen, and par tuhng go (some donuts with coconut pandan sauce). The red curry pork belly was good! Its not too spicy and the pork belly was tender and there were good amount of it. The yum woon sen came quite warm but the vegetables were still quite crunchy and good to have some peanuts on it. Would be better with more generous amount of meat tho. The donut was crispy and really enjoyable although not a big fan of the coconut pandan sauce. Worth trying! Its situation in a shopping mall and opened until quite late.

We come to this place every time we visit Sydney. It s one of the Thai restaurants that serve lesser known dishes. Wheelchair accessibility: A little crowded but possible as i have done so before with my dad.
Very local thai food and the service is also perfect! Recommanded if you craving for some thai food this is definitely the best place in sydney cbd :)

decided to try this place one night when we were passing by, read the reviews and saw that it was highly rated. Staff were friendly and service was good but food was a let down compared to traditional Thai cuisine. had the crab spring rolls 7/10 but expensive and the barramundi was 5/10 but not the flavour profile you expect after reading it off the menu. The suki seafood was good but it only had 2 prawns 2 mussels and 4 pieces of calamari. this was highly disappointing for the price of $60+ per person. I had expected better. There is better for the price. but the staff were very friendly so thats +1
