An excellent place to eat! We loved everything we tried. The food was a bit expensive. I'd say it would be $100 a person if you order a main dish and appetizer per person. We would return again! Great service and yummy food that is worth the price.

Lovely chill dining place for a Friday evening. We sat in the gallery section which got packed pretty quickly after 6pm. Food was descent - specially shout out to their grilled octopus, and the portion was generous-my friend and I got pretty full after sharing two appetizers and a main. Service was fantastic.

Overall nice experience. Oysters were nice and sauce went lovely with it. Tartare was nice and went well with the cheese. The cheese pie was nice too with a honey twist. I wasn’t personally a big fan of the duck sausage. But I loved the octopus! Great flavours could get enough. The eggplant and steak were great mains that left us very full!. The banana dessert was light and refreshing. Definitely recommend!

여기 분위기랑 와인 짱이에요. 소믈리에가 정말 실력이 좋은 사람입니다. Le Foote is a lively venue in Sydney known for its vibrant atmosphere, combining elements of a classic European bistro with a modern Australian twist. Located in The Rocks, this place has become a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking to enjoy great food, a wide selection of drinks, and a fun, laid-back vibe. The menu at Le Foote offers a variety of dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. From hearty mains to share plates, there's something to satisfy every palate. The drink menu is equally impressive, featuring an extensive selection of wines, craft beers, and expertly crafted cocktails. Le Foote is particularly known for its outdoor seating area, where you can enjoy your meal while soaking in the historic surroundings of The Rocks. The service is friendly and attentive, making it a perfect spot for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a night out with friends. Overall, Le Foote provides a memorable dining experience with its combination of great food, excellent drinks, and a buzzing atmosphere in one of Sydney's most iconic neighborhoods.

Visited last night for dinner. Everything was good, nothing was bad. However, the food was not anything too special. The cheese pie was interesting but I wasn’t wow’d by it. My favourite dish would have to be grilled octopus, the flavours were well balanced and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The banana parfait at the end was also delicious and I would come back just to order it again, but my friends said that for them it wasn’t anything to crazy and thought that the black sesame overpowered the banana too much. Service was absolutely amazing, our waitress was so attentive and kind. I would recommend if you are looking for a restaurant nearby The Rocks.

Walking in to Le Foote the relaxed atmosphere and being greeted by the warm friendly staff was a great way to start the evening, then it just got better. Our amazing, knowledgeable waiter gave great direction with food and wine, I had a Lebanese wine, at his suggestion, and very glad I did… amazing! The food was really beautiful. Having delicious duck sausages, cheese pie, grilled prawns, octopus and this was just start of the journey. These dishes were so good! The flavours and seasoning, very skilfully handled. The duck sausages, well all I could think about was more; cheese pie, ditto. Really I have to say we loved every dish. The barramundi cooked perfect and beautiful flavour of the eggplant and pork really complemented each other. Having such an enjoyable evening with really delicious food and great staff, I want to go back really soon! 14 July 2024

Le Foot encompasses the best of both worlds, being part Parisian and part Mediterranean. I’ve been wanting to visit this place for a long time as it was so highly spoken of by others. However, I was neither impressed nor disappointed by the food; it was just very standard. We started with the oysters, which I was not a big fan of as they were on the pricier side and not as fresh as I expected. I also didn't care for the vinaigrette as it was very sour and one-dimensional, which did not complement the oysters. The cheese pie was not a standout; it was nice but just what you would expect a cheese pie to taste like. However, I did really like the octopus. It was cooked to perfection, achieving the perfect balance of chewiness and softness. It was also very well-seasoned. The steak and fries were quite exceptional for their price point and were cooked to a perfect medium rare. Overall, it's a decent restaurant with some good dishes. It is also definitely on the pricier side. I will probably revisit sometime in the future and try out other dishes.

Le Foote knows what’s good when it comes to Mediterranean dining! Visited this place with a few friends and had the banquet with an extra course of oysters. Blood-y hell… it was good! From the taramasalata, to the grilled octopus, and finishing with the steak and sides… everything was tastier than the next.. and we left feeling pretty full up. Well worth it for the banquet! The restaurant itself is quite unique with alfresco dining, the staff were pleasant and engaging. Had a great time here and look forward to returning! Oh, and we were generously gifted a complimentary shots of limoncello to finish off.

A great meal in a labyrinthine restaurant, full of cozy nooks and crannies. So happy we were able to be squeezed in without a reservation. My only disappointment is that I wish they had wine pairings. The wines that were on the list were a good representation, but it would ve been nice if there was an opportunity for half pours or flights. So many exquisite items on the menu, and so many ways to pair them with wines. We ordered the cheese pie as an app, and I would ve loved to have had some sort of half poor of a white that would ve stood up to it, and then later with my meat, a half pour of some red, and maybe even wine with a little sweetness to pair with my cabbage. I know it s a lot of glasses to wash when you start getting into the wine pairing business, but the menu really lends itself to opportunities for flights. This is still a five star review! It s just a suggestion of something that would make the restaurant experience over the top. On to the food. We were told that the cheese pie and the duck sausage and the octopus were standouts. I eat a lot of octopus, and so I felt a bit saturated with it lately and did not order that. But I did order the cheese pie and the duck sausage. Both Delicious. My husband said that he was tasting a little bit of spice off the cheese pie, but I did not. The flavors were excellent. The honey paired beautifully, but was not saccharine. The duck sausage was also excellent. My husband had the schnitzel, and it was very tender, but he was coveting my duck sausage! I gave him a bite, because that s just the type of partner I am. He asked for a second bite, and I thought that was a bridge too far, but since he was paying for it, I let him have it. ;) The duck sausage is clearly the winner. The schnitzel was good, but the duck sausage was packed with flavor! I took a piece home, to mix with eggs for breakfast. For sides, we had the potato en croute, which was good, and I had the cabbage, and the cabbage was good, but perhaps a bit vinegary or sour. And the pepitas were a bit overwhelming as well. I couldn t put my finger on it. For me, a skordalia features a lot of garlic, so I suppose I was expecting more of a garlic flavor. It was very good, but perhaps dial back a bit on pepitas. Maybe a little bit more garlic forward? I m not sure. It was good, but in some ways it was just strong. I guess that s the only word to describe it. The cabbage was not coming through. The service was excellent. We were never looking around for our server. We had a couple of different people servicing the table, and they were all very efficient and pleasant. The atmosphere is gorgeous. We actually took a little photoshoot later, because some of the tables were empty, and so we took the opportunity to stage some photos. As we were leaving, the place was really filling up. Le Foote is Labyrinthine, in a wonderful way. it reminds me of those wonderful Greek towns where special places are tucked around the corner or up a flight of steps or down a few steps. Lots of different seating areas with intimate candles. Truly, the atmosphere was so very Mediterranean and so beautiful! Even the bathroom was special, with fabulous artwork in the stalls! Parking: Take the bus to this neighborhood! Parking is very difficult. Kid-friendliness: It did not seem like a place that I would bring a young child. Very romantic, with older couples, or hip young 20 somethings.

Visited Dec 2024. Overpowering sauces/vinegars/mustards and undercooked/raw food. Portions are tiny, think having a small starter for main and you will get the idea. Restaurant claims it is fully air conditioned, air conditioning was turned off, inside was humid and muggy. Waitress noticed food was not eaten. No attempt to rectify after complaint. Overall terrible experience. Would give 0 star if possible. Save your money go to McDonalds instead!

Dined here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The waitstaff were very welcoming, polite and attentive. They were also very knowledgeable about their food and wine. The food was impeccable, especially the wagyu rib eye. The taramasalata, beef tartare and cheese pie for our entrees were also delightful. They make a good white negroni too! The restaurant had a very rustic European aesthetic and ambience, which is very on-brand. Looking forward to returning!

Everything was delicious, from salads to bread to dessert, all paired with wonderful wine. The service was friendly and attentive - the team did not miss a beat. The lighting and atmosphere was perfect for a special dinner (We went for my mum s birthday) But the loveliest thing was the great vibe between the staff who clearly enjoyed their work and cared about the food, wine and service they gave. I was looking for a few nibbles in the afternoon and had such a lovely atmosphere in the outdoor area. It was empty, there was just a table of two seated outside, which indicated the waiter would have come and spend a few minutes with me but unfortunately after leaving the menus on the table, I waited around 20mins (in which i considered leaving) until I had to get up, go inside and ask for someone to take my order outside. Not the best experience. Food was delish. The tartare and the parfait were to die for. Would love to come back and receive a better service as this place is really worth it

Went for lunch and was underwhelmed by the inconsistency in service (2 good staff 1 very average at best ) The food - entrees very good the mains below par. My wife had the prawns (3)of which 2 were partially raw). The waiter was happy to comp however didn t offer to replace the dish and said that was the way the chef prepared ???it, then why wasn t that spelt out on the menu), while my sirloin steak was not much better than a pub steak at I think $64 The raw prawns and waiters dealing with the situation spoilt my birthday lunch for both of us The restaurant styles itself as a Mediterranean Grill - nah

My wife had the Taramasalata enteee and the Grilled Eggplant main. The Taramasalata was presented with a selection of raw veggies as opposed to the more traditional pita bread / chips. And the wines yes all great, but please, please do yourself a favour and try a Lebanese wine..yes it s a thing, amazing on the palate, great structure and wonderful fruit, well worth it. Le Bar -1 : Happy Hour rob-out . $14 dollars sparkling water on tap for 2 people, plus another $7 for something unexplainable, hc. Crazy that their sparkling water on tap is more expensive than their beer and the same price as most of their happy hour drinks!?! They should be ashamed to charge this. It s just water on tap, in an ordinary glass. Food is nothing special, happy hour drinks are ordinary, service are snobs. not friendly ambiance, overinflated price for sp.water on tap. To note: We dined at Le Foote s New Year s Eve set menu on 31 December 2023. Food was good and the sparkling water they served was bottled, branded, NOT on Tap, and it s reasonably priced. p.s. though some food portions are small compared to $$$$$ you pay. We had dinner last night out in the courtyard veranda. It does seem to get noisy inside but our outdoor ambience was perfect. Our server was lovely, knowledgeable, and attentive. We got the cheese pie and octopus for starters. Cheese pie was a flavour bomb, it was more sweet than savoury. They also catered to my macadamia allergy by removing it from the octopus. For the mains we had the Angus sirloin and Barramundi. The steak was cooked perfectly. My personal favourite and highlight of the night was the Barramundi. The best piece of fish I have had in a long time, simply delicious. We also received complimentary coconut gelato for our anniversary, we were already so full by that point but it was too yummy to resist.

Had dinner there with a friend. First time. We probably seemed like difficult customers because we changed seating, had a relatively small meal and did not like the desert (personal preference). Despite this the service never declined. Our designated waiter never waivered in his attendance and courtesy. The mains we shared were exceptional (Prawns from the Grill, Eggplant Dish, Tomato Salad). It was unfortunate that we chose a desert neither of us turned out liking. We hardly touched it but fully expected to pay for it. It came as a total surprise when at end of the evening the waiter had removed it from the bill. The seating in the main restaurant is charming albeit noisy. We ended up outside on a lovely elevated terrace style nook amongst the historical buildings. I would go there again any time. Vegetarian options: Eggplant dish with hazelnuts and pomegranate was delicious

I m writing this review as I wait for 20 minutes for the server to potentially pay attention to our table. This place has all the markings of a stand out restaurant - delicious smells emanating from it, a lovely courtyard to sit in. However, it was probably the worst service I ve experienced in several decades of dining out. I couldn t for the life of me catch the waiter s attention so eventually just walked up to the bar to order drinks. Then, we still didn t get table service so eventually had to go back to the bar to order food. Throughout the 90 minute experience, the service was completely absent, except when it was time to pay. I recommend you find a different restaurant for your next meal.

Literally my favourite restaurant ever. Been here a couple times now. I raved on about the octopus to my family, (we are Greek) and explained how this is the best octopus Ive had since Greece and they had to try it, well of course they had the same response. If anything I wish we had ordered more. I do not know the name of our waiter but he was French/Italian and his service was 10/10. I cant wait to come back, I will devour that whole rib eye steak to myself.

Great dinner last night at Le Foote. Food was delicious and the service impeccable and quick. The restaurant is spacious and not loud. Everything was perfect except the dessert. We had the rhum baba and it was just a small brioche soaked in syrup with rhum with whipped cream, not great and overpriced ($22). Shame to finish on a disappointing note.

Went there after a daytime show at the Opera House and they had space to accommodate walk-in guests, which was great. Snacks served were good (LPs saucisson was a highlight, focaccia and fries were filling) and a good, if quite pricey, wine list (~$220 for a Shaw and Smith Lenswood Chardonnay). Service was okay, it felt like maybe we were there at a shift change over of staff, so it wasn t immediately clear whether there was table service or if we needed to order at the bar. With the weekend surcharge added on, it was $312 for a bottle of wine, sparking water and three small shared plates. I am glad I visited, but I d go further afield in future as I think there are better options slightly further away from The Rocks

We happened to cross here one evening. We were worried it would be some soul-less, overpriced tourist trap, given its location. However the opposite the proved to be true (except perhaps the price, it is pretty expensive). We were sat in a candlelit inside courtyard, had a couple of delicious starters and desserts, and split a pisco sour which they made for us even though it wasnt on the menu. On the whole, we had a super special, really lovely evening, and will definitely dine here again in the future.

Upon entering the waiter asked if we had a reservation. I said no can you accommodate us?!? He then said something that irritated me. Did you look at the menu before I seat you? I said I glanced at it yes, as if to say can you afford it?!? I look at my cousin and her beautiful daughter both in dresses my wife in with capris and a beautiful blouse.....I let I go. Overall, food was good! Not amazing, just average. Our waiter was lovely, the only issue we had was the manager. When we booked there was a BYO cake option to click on. There were no details about a cake fee or how much it would be, so we assumed there were no fees. When we got there they explained which we understood however didn t disclose how much the fee was pp. Once our mains were done, we asked for the cake. We were met by the manager who was quite rude. He explained that there is a fee (where his staff already notified us) which we knew and went on to say You should know that every restaurant around here has cake fee . A cake fee of $10 pp might I add. What if we didn t know that every restaurant here had a cake fee? There was no need for the attitude.. If he had just said, sorry the website doesn t specify but we do have a fee or unfortunately there is a cake fee of $10, that is so fine with us.It just made the overall experience at Le Foote, Le SUCKED.

I had the calamari for entree which was divine - tender & fresh - I would have slurped the sauce from the bowl if I could! Prawns for main which were light & delicious. My dining partner had the oysters (v fresh) for entree then the steak which she was swooning over - we had pomme frite & endive salad as perfect accompaniments. I had a Chablis which was superb. The Pinot was also excellent apparently. Our waiter who was lovely both attentive & friendly even brought out a scoop of ice cream as a birthday surprise which was the stand out dish aromatic & caramel flavours! This was a random choice for lunch after a couple of pints of Guiness at the Mercantile listening to some live music. Sunday in The Rocks is a great atmosphere. So we sat outside Le Foote and our afternoon was looked after by the fabulous Laura. Thank you Laura. Five of us shared most of the starters and threw in a couple of Maine courses with a bottle of French Rose, Australian Riesling and Tattinger Champagne for good measure. The Duck sausage was delightful, simple yet juicy and full of flavour. The Calamari was fresh, soft and perfectly juicy with a delicious sauce The Cheese Pie is an absolute must have ( will have to get the recipe). The Prawns for main course were sensational. Cooked beautifuly with lovely flavours. The Special was Steak and Frites which was also a table winner. Throw in an Endive side salad for good measure. After a fabulous lunch we walked down the Fortune of War pub for more outside drinks with live entertainment. A well located and ambient restaurant where flashbacks to Europe are induced. Food is fine, at least from what we had. Nothing exceptional, but nothing disappointing either. We had some oysters, the tartar and a whole Barramundi. The venue lacks character and personality, therefore falling short on experience. In this time of Sydneys French Revolution, Le Foote really doesnt compete with any of the alternatives in the area, especially when considering the similar price point. Nothing sets it apart. I have a good memory when I visited Phillips Foot at the end of December 2017. It has now changed to le foote, but since it was a family trip, I made a reservation and visited to make good memories once again. However, I was very disappointed this time because of the staff here. The waitress who took our order, an older-looking woman wearing glasses and tying her hair, came to our table about 10 minutes later while we were sitting and thinking about the menu, and urged us to make our selection quickly as business hours were short due to the New Years event. Its not a language I use often, so even when I look at a menu, I have to explain it to my parents, and if it says ingredients I dont know, I have to search for it in case its a food I cant eat. I feel sorry if it is the manners in this country to order quickly. The funny thing is that we arrived a little early and it wasnt even before our reservation time yet. At the same time, we unfolded the napkins in front of us and placed them on each of our laps. To me, that behavior felt rude, not kind. After I finished ordering, he said that he was sorry that he couldnt be of any help to the Chinese people. I was dumbfounded, wondering if he knew how discriminatory it was to label Asians as Chinese or if I had misheard. Do you feel good when you say that a Westerner is American? Meanwhile, the employee put the order wrong and the shrimp came out unexpectedly. Fortunately, it wasnt included in the bill because it was ordered incorrectly. So, the missing menu item I originally intended to order was re-ordered 40 minutes after the first order. It takes 50 minutes to eat one sausage. Since business hours are so short, whenever I was told to order quickly, I always placed my order incorrectly, so it took longer. And they didnt pay much attention to our table, so if we wanted to ask for water or check if our order was correct, we had to look at the staff for several minutes and try to call them. The only time the staff paid any attention to us that day was when they were urging us to order. When I tried to pay, I ate everything, but no one came and it seemed too busy and our time was wasted, so I just went out and asked where to pay. The female employee said it was a form of paying on the spot, but who is standing here because they dont know how to say bill please? I couldnt concentrate on the meal and came here with my family, saying it was a good place, leaving other good restaurants aside, but I just felt bad and upset. Im even sadder because Ill never come back. Its a place I really liked... - Good pub atmosphere. The restaurant has a good atmosphere but is noisy. Its pretty, but Im in a bad mood so it doesnt look pretty. -The food is just so-so. Not particularly tasty. I gave it a low rating due to the wrong order. -Service... If I had come with friends, I would have just been shocked, but I felt really bad when I came with my family.

Venue is good, and atmosphere was lovely. Food was okay, but service was poor. Felt very pressured and rushed. Waitress was explaining the menu to one person only ( i.e. looking and talking to one guest only, and only seldomly making eye contact with the rest of us (4 pax). When i mentioned i am unable to hear, i ws told its noisy in here. Seemed irritated and wine was not poured into our glasses, seemed like it was just thrown, no elegance or finesse about it. Overall all four of us felt uneasy about the service. With that being said once staff changed there was a difference in the level of service and I felt more at ease and relaxed.

During our recent visit to Le Foote for lunch, we encountered a series of disappointments that marred our dining experience. Firstly, the service was less than welcoming. Upon our arrival, we were hastily informed in a rather abrupt tone that the kitchen would close in half an hour, pressing us to order quickly. This rushed greeting set a rather uncomfortable tone for our meal. While the foods taste met our expectations, the portion sizes were a letdown, especially considering the price. The salad was minimalistic, offering just two leaves. The Potato en croûte was a misnomer, being merely pastry without any hint of potato. The dish featuring octopus, potatoes, and macadamia, sprinkled with Aleppo pepper, was also underwhelming in portion, with the octopus barely extending to the size of a finger. Another point of contention was the wine list. It was shockingly overpriced. Rieslings, typically found at bottle shops for under $20, were marked up to over $100. Similarly, a Pinot Noir I regularly purchase for $60 was listed at an exorbitant $300. Such pricing seems unjustifiable and detracted significantly from the overall dining experience. Fortunately, the company of great friends salvaged the outing. Their presence turned what could have been a wholly disappointing experience into a bearable one. Nonetheless, based on the rushed service, poor value for money, and prohibitively expensive wine list, I cannot recommend Le Foote for those seeking a fulfilling dining experience.

Just amazing. Service was fantastic, atmosphere was lovely. Food was insane, the $65 steak was the best I ve ever had. Also recommend the cheese pie, a lot yummier and different to what it sounds!! Would definitely recommend for a date.

Simply put this was one of the best meals I have eaten in the last several years. My husband and I shared a variety of plates and each was unfussy (in a good way), perfectly seasoned and absolutely delectable. We started with the local oysters and the shaved calamari salad; both were wonderful, and the calamari salad could not have been better seasoned. Simple, clean, and perfectly executed. By way of salads, we also shared a stone fruit and tomato salad; the tomatoes were in prime season and the stone fruit too. We ended with the pork and flank steak and both were done extremely well, though the other components of our meal were probably the highlights. Service was spot-on. Not too overbearing but attentive to our needs. The location and the restaurant itself are beautifully decorated and the ambience was delightful. We ve eaten at several three Michelin star restaurants over the past couple of years, and (while not as fussy or cheffy as some of those other places), Le Foote is going down as one of my favorite restaurant visits this past year. Kudos to the restaurant team for putting together such a wonderful experience.

I d come back for the cheese pie and the banana parfait but honestly, most of what we ordered was delicious. The spot-on wine recommendations, good service, and the charming ambiance (especially on the upper floor) make it a must-visit.

The fish was overcooked ( coating tasted like burnt toast,) salad ordered did not include what it stated. Staff & atmosphere were great, but food needs improvement
