2930 Steeles Ave E, Thornhill, ON L3T 7X1, Canada
Specializing in Cantonese dishes, this casual, modern outfit also serves some Pan-Asian items.
What an absolute gem of a place. The food is fantastic and the service is great. We ordered the General Tso, Crispy Cantonese Chow mein, Soup, Vegetable Fried Rice and cold tea. Everything was delicious and came out fast. Family style dishes so you know you will get plenty. Prices were great for the large portions you receive. Great place to eat.
Great spot for Chinese classics. I love coming here with my family. We usually grab a few dishes and split everything family style.
Convenient Congee Queen location beside Highway 404. Lots of seating available, but still expect to wait during busy times. Large menu selection of Cantonese dishes. Everything tastes good. VIP card holders get 10% and free dessert.
This location is one of my favorites, better than other locations. Our server Yan was also really nice and helped us take a family picture and also gave us recommendations.
We had a lovely dining experience at Congee Queen in the Thornhill area. Believe this is their flagship location. Ample parking outside. This is an authentic Cantonese cuisine restaurant. They have a total of nine locations in Canada (sadly, no footprints in the U.S.). The vibe is family casual and lively. The dining room is bright, open, clean with an attractive Asian design/decor. We came without reservation but were seated immediately. A waitstaff took our orders but we could have easily ordered via QR code. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner items from variation of congees to live seafood. They have an extensive menu. Hugh food portion at reasonably price point. All the dishes came out lightning fast and piping hot. We of course ordered more than we could eat just like almost each party walked out with the to-go boxes. We enjoyed all the dishes especially the congee and the group favorite BBQ meats. Congee was thick and silky smooth. The bbq meats were top notch, served warm, tender and moist, perfectly marinated, glazed and prepared. The waitstaff were efficient, polite and helpful. Restaurant gave us 5% discount for paying our bill with Canadian currency. The foreign currency exchange rate was in our favor at the time of our visit in Canada. Congee Queen has become synonymous with authentic classic Cantonese cuisine in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for us. This restaurant made us regret not spending an extra day or two in the area so we could try more dishes here.
For someone coming from America, this food is soooo good. Nothing in our cities compares in quality, quantity and so reasonable prices. Yes, I saw few complaints about the food isn’t as good as before, come on down to the US and see what bad Chinese food is. 🤣 We loved the 3 BBQ combo plate, the black bean with clams (such generous portions too). Come to think of it we loved all our dishes. Wish we could’ve eaten more.
Service is prompt and friendly. I wasn’t ready to order when server came to ask, she was patient and came back a little later. We requested hot water as one person in the group doesn’t drink the complimentary tea. Server is nice and even give us a cup of room temperature water on the side in case the hot water is too hot to consume. Very detailed oriented! Food portion is huge! Some dishes are a bit salty to my liking but it’s definitely a personal taste/ choice. Will come back again!
Pretty good food and lots of options. Very popular so they tend to be quite busy. It's recommended to make a reservation ahead of time to avoid the wait. The lobster congee was surprisingly good. The General Tsao and beef stir fry were very flavorful as well. The flavors are fairly consistent with other Congee Queen. Would recommend and come back again.
Could you please take a moment to check the chicken rice noodle roll? I want to ensure its in great condition before we serve it. Thanks!
After eating here 2 hours later my whole family all got food poisoning from here Their food quality went down because of the economy which I understand but please keep and use fresh food not expired food thanks. Now me and my whole family feel so bad and puking
Staff were very friendly, efficient and the restaurant was very well maintained and clean. Food is delicious as usual and prices are reasonable. Take out is quick and easy too. I would definitely come back again, thanks CQ!
Nice congee base. Tasty Hong Kong style milk tea. Chinese bread, stir fry special fish base noodles.

Ive been there around a month ago. I was really good food and the atmosphere also good.
Good food
I eat here frequently and never get disappointed.
I ve been to this restaurant many times, and it s always great. The food is tasty, and the service is excellent. I ll definitely be coming back again.
Good food,good service,nice manager!
I recently visited Congee Queen with a friend to try their Chinese noodles, and it was a fantastic experience! The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. The noodles were delicious, with authentic flavors and just the right texture. The restaurant had a lovely ambience cozy, clean, and perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Congee Queen for anyone looking to enjoy great Chinese food at a great price!
Worst customer service Ive ever gotten on a lunch rush and I havent even made it passed the waiting area. You are treated well if youre not chinese. To the lady who gave my mom attitude, shes never eating there again.
The chicken they serve is actually cat and they discriminate against non asians.
Very bad customer service ..treat customers in a rude manner.
Great customer service. We always host our Family celebrations and they are always very accommodating. We never feel rushed and our family always has a great time.
Staff are very friendly and food is delicious
Staff are polite
What a surprise, there is actually mandarin duck fried rice Everything is delicious Yan has great service. Xingzhou carrot cake is super delicious
Good
Very good service and food. Recommend .
DO NOT USE THE SEATING SYSTEM - I used the seating system and have been getting spammed constantly on my phone since. Received over 200 text messages while eating lunch alone.
The food is delicious! Ive been looking for congee as tasty as my favorite place in Chinatown NYC. After 20 years of failure, I finally found it in Congee Queen. The staff, especially Yen, are very friendly and such a pleasure. Thank you!
Quick service good food good prices awesome place to come with a big group!
Food taste great. Can put some effort to maintain the cleanliness.
Asian flavor, overall passable!
If I can give zero star I would definitely do that. The service sucks here. Don t come at all. The waiter here is the worst and gave us wrong information, and when we tried to cancel the dish, they rejected at once. I am very disappointed with everything here. Bad service Bad quality of food and overpriced! Again do not come at all! Go to other location if you wish to try the brand.
went yesterday and we came here to celebrate my son s 3rd birthday. good service here, great speed in service and very professional. they asked if we had any allergies after we ordered. overall, great value for price. will definitely come back.

New review on 2024/10/03--WHERE IS THE MEAT?!?! Ordered roast duck leg on noodles in soup ( extra charge for the leg) and was served a skinny portion, in particular the largest piece of meat in the drumstick was missing!!!! Talked to the waiter and was told the rotisserie staffer would not agree to serving another plate of duck and that he would scold him profusely. Now is that my problem?!?! I told him I planned to write them a very bad review, then he reluctantly took the plate and he headed towards the rotisserie area. The meat on the right side has hardly any meat and the parts on the left are the skeleton skin with no meat and just mainly fat. The waiter/manager came back after talking to the rotisserie staffer (which I was close enough to hear him say he did not steal any meat) and said thats how the duck leg was. I told the waiter thats unacceptable and asked him if it was unreasonable to which he did not reply. The waiter then offered not to apply the extra charge for the leg and asked me to just accept the plate as is and I refused. I told him hes taken the dish to the rotisserie staffer back and forth talking about and probably over it, so I wasnt going to accept the same plate with their saliva spit over it!! He then offered to serve an uncut duck leg, which I turned down. Decided to just eat a bowl of plain noodles. $16.50 for roast duck on noodles in soup vs $6.50 for plain noodles, which means they charge $10 for the plate of duck meat with hardly at meat. Mind you they gave plenty of sauce! Never ordering this again and wont be visiting this location again either ..too many disappointments. +++ Super nice waiter Kenny--very courteous!! Felt like a valued customer. Glad they installed plexiglass between booth dividers. Superbly creamy Hong Kong-styled tea. We add our own sugar. Pea leaves with garlic $18 was tremendously tasty albeit a bit oily. Pea leaves must be in season. Fried dough wrapped with rice cheung fan is too crispy for my taste buds. These are usually bought already fried and restaurants re-fry them in their dishes. Singapore noodles could be spicier...will ask next time. Parking on weekends are usually tight since the restaurant shares parking with a grocery. Great experience! +++ Another visit: Pineapple fried rice did not come in half s pineapple boat like many restaurants and it tastes awful...it was apparent that the chef didnt drain the canned pineapples enough. We barely touched the dish and when I reflected my comment to a waitress, this wonderful staffer offered to give me another fried rice. I had reflected my discontent with another waitress earlier but was told thats the way they cook/serve this dish. REALLY impressed with the second waitress and took action to please their customers as I felt like a valued customer and they genuinely care about pleasing their customers. The pork bone congee tasted great If they could make the duck kidney thin slices into thicker chunks, that would be great.
What a horrible experience! We ordered from the afternoon tea menu - a beef brisket lo-mein, a deep fried trio stuffed vegetable, a red bean ice cream drink and an unsweetened iced milk tea. What has shown up was a beef tendon lo-mein, which was extremely overcooked and soggy, and a sweetened milk tea. We asked the lo-mein and the milk tea to be changed. What came out was beef brisket lo-mein, which tasted like leftover food. The lo-mein was not only overcooked and soggy, it tasted sour and smelly. It was totally unbearable. We finished the deep fried trio stuffed vegetable, the red bean ice cream drink and the milk tea and left with disappointment. Whats worst was that both of us had a bitter taste in our mouths for 2 hours. Obviously, this restaurant offers below par services inside out. This will be the last time I visit Congee Queen at this location.
I always go to this location for taking out. The cashier is very friendly and always remember what I usually order which is good. I went there on Sunday with my family for dinning, the new dishes are delicious, waitress are nice and helpful. Super recommend to come this location.
nice food and great service.
Food was excellent. It was flavourful, fresh and came hot. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely go again.
Good food and good service!
Delicious food, good size portions , waitress were friendly and very efficient , always a good experience for our family . Xie,Xie.
The standard is above average and very good
Tasty food, reasonable price, and the nice service
Perfect restaurant for our family to meet and talk over food. The turnip cakes are amazing !
Fantastic service!!
We had lunch with a large group and the staff were extremely attentive. The food was delicious and served quickly. I highly recommend everyone to enjoy authentic cuisine.
Those wings were tiny. Are you sure theyre chicken wings and not pigeon wings? My mom can also make beef brisket 1000 times better too. Food : 1/5
The food is very generous and filling, extremely delicious!
Nice
The portions of the food are huge, the taste is very good, and the service is very considerate
So delicious! Yummmy!
Good food and big portions!
Taste good. Big portion definitely recommended
Very good food and service.
We had a family lunch of 7 people and we always go to this Congee since it s always great and convenient. On this day we left a decent tip since it was a big bill but we re approached by the waitress that we did not tip enough. Since it s many people that serve us and I am sure they split it by the end of the night we were offended and embarrassed by the confrontation! The absolute audacity of this person which never happened before got me thinking if I want to go back! Tips are optional and not mandatory as far as I was concerned and customers should not be humiliated if they have that option. Not happy at all by this place!
A good Cantonese meal means congee queen. Book ahead of time on weekends.
Order from here almost every weekend. Love the great chinese food. Very good quality and good portions. This location also has ample parking very convenient.
Why are the waitresses so rude at this location? The Lawrence location is way better! Kid-friendliness: Not friendly
Great food found here. Our go to for eat in and take out.
Delish! HUGE lunch portions, decent prices.
Good food, good service, beautiful space
Its called roasted pork and roasted duck rice, but theres no roasted pork. You have to wait half an hour to transfer the oil to the chicken rice, right? There is no meat and all the bones Don t ask for soy sauce when ordering rice. It s like soaking rice in soy sauce.
We enjoyed the flavors and the chefs skills during our visit. However, being asked in-person to tip more made us uncomfortable. We suggest allowing customers to tip at their discretion to ensure a more respectful experience. Once you solicit 1 customer to tip more beyond 25%, it is not mandatory and your customers will find other places. Thank you.
Just a OK place for a quick note.
Great congee n outstanding service
Havent Been Here For A Couple Of Years And Still Consider This Flagship Store At Steeles And Don Mills The Best Of All The Locations. Had 3 dishes I shared With My Brother. The Half And Half (Ying & Yang) Fried Rice Topped With Chicken/Tomato Sauce And Shrimp/Cream Sauce, Singapore Style Fried Rice Noodles And Spice And Pepper Squid. Excellent Food Especially The Crispy Squid.
Great congee (congee with salted egg), squid, and crunchy noodles...price was very reasonable as well
The service was really bad, I waited more than 45 minutes for my order and didn t even get it at end.
Good Chinese food for a reasonable price. The portions are still big.
The food is great. But the AC is not working at all. We were swearing while we were eating. Didn t enjoy the meal at all.
Food not hot enough
Love the salt and pepper squid!
I ordered half size of toasted duck to go, when I got home, only a few meat cover the top, a lot of duck neck hidden under, so disappointed. They are not honest
This Congee queen location is very consistent. Food are tasty, service is good, portion is not small. They have on site Chinese BBQ.
Vegetarian options: There are a variety of veggie and tofu plates. Additionally, seafood plates for those who are pescatarian. Food
This is one of the worst congee queens I ve been too the waitress was super disrespectful. She had short hair to her neck with black glasses
The pasta doesn t quite taste like it Regarding the dry-fried beef river, although the noodles were fried well, it lacked wok gas, and there were too many red and green peppers competing with each other, making the overall taste not outstanding and difficult to call it authentic. Xingzhou fried rice lacks the flavor of curry and is too salty, which affects the overall taste. As for the fried rice rolls with XO sauce, although there is XO sauce in the name, it is actually difficult to detect its unique taste. Instead, it is like ordinary fried rice rolls with soy sauce, which is disappointing. The beef brisket in the Beef Brisket Lo Mein was cooked to tenderness and flavor, but the noodles were too dry, requiring additional brisket juice to improve the overall moistness. Although the skin of salt and pepper tofu is fried thin and crispy, and the tofu also maintains a tender texture, it lacks the unique flavor of salt and pepper, making people feel that this is just an ordinary fried tofu. The Jinsha Custard has received unanimous praise. The Custard is fragrant and has a distinct milk flavor. It is a rare highlight of this meal. Although the ingredients of the red bean jelly and sago are sufficient, the sugar water is too sweet and greasy, which affects the overall texture and taste balance.
one of a few top Cantonese style restaurant in Toronto. This is not the flagship store but the food quality is acceptable. Lots of asians customers.
Great tasting food in very generous portions. Friendly and attentive service. Great job!
My friend and I visited this Congee Queen location at noon on a long weekend Sunday. The restaurant was packed and the hostess said it would be about an hour wait if we wanted a table inside. She offered to seat us outside, which I had no idea was an option. We said yes and got seated immediately. Generally, I get nervous with sitting outside. I assume it would be sunny and hard to get service. I was pleasantly surprised, however. The tables were all shaded by tents, and the waiters came outside to check on the few occupied tables pretty frequently and regularly. Food was good as always! For those who dont know, Congee Queen serves very good portions. Its great value for your money. We had a good time! I look forward to visiting again, especially now that I know theres an outdoor seating option.
Great Chinese food, with great options and fast service. Exactly what you want at lunch when youre on limited time.
One of the best Congee locations. Always look forward to the food. Good value and portion sizes.
Our go to spot for quick eat in, takeout and even party trays.
Food is acceptable. If they are cooking with NOT frozen meat. Surely will taste much better. Food
Great Chinese Restaurant
For weekday afternoon tea bag drinks, you can choose pearl milk tea, which is cost-effective. But I can t find afternoon tea when ordering Tsuna, so I can take out the food over the phone.
Always a pleasant experience. Food is always great. We always pick up food before driving home. This time, we found two separate hairs in our food tonight. We are very disappointed. We always come to this location, but we are not sure if this will be the last time.
This is one of the worst congee queen that I have been to. The cooking method is different from other locations and the tast is completely different. The batter for the shrimp was too thick and not moist, the noodles were salty, the Chinese vegetables had no garlic sauce... This is a restaurant I never want to come back to.
AVOID this location. Came here for the afternoon special which ends at 5pm. We had table for 8 and ordered 9 items. Their was a group of female staff (one of them had their hair up with a bun) 3 to be exact who were giving our table disgusting eye contact which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. They didnt seem to please that we ordered from the afternoon tea special which we submitted our order minutes to 5pm. Their food came out the same as their facial expressions disgusting and rushed like the food is free. Better going to the food court then coming here. Awful and never returning or recommend anyone to dine here. Drinks come with the afternoon tea special and they charge a $1 for a takeout cup if you cant finish your drink.
Food comes fast, everything tastes amazing
Great place to eat and share meal with family and friends. Prices are great for amount of food you get (its a lot) and the food taste great. We ordered about 10 dishes to share between 9 people and we were all full and took home 3 containers. Excellent value for your $.
Table had old stains on it which were embedded into the top. **should replace** Drinks are standard, ordered iced tea-it came in a can, not fresh-strange? The iced tea was never brought by the waitress either. She was visibly upset that one of our congee orders was mixed up. The food is incredible but the service is not the greatest. Would I go back?, nope, Mandarin is by far a much better family experience and the cost is near identical.
Its OK. Nothing special. Not my favorite place. Its too noisy, and the food is only so so. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options include tofu and fake meat.
I went to the restaurant at 2:37pm today on Friday. The female mainland waiter had no service at all and zero communication. She looked at me with sharp eye contact and was super rude. She only gave us 2 menus and left. It was completely did not communicate with us? Of course I asked another woman wearing glasses, and she told us clearly the lunch menu time and afternoon tea time. Of course, the female mainland waiter continued to argue that we did not tell her the menu for the afternoon tea that I was waiting for. She was afraid of losing her job, so she went talk to the mainland female boss and continued to talk loudly and explained is not her fault. So she continue laughed at us. She showed no respect for the customer at all. She was not suitable for her job. Today is my last day went to this restaurant and never go again. It has nothing to do with me that you will lose your business forever!
Great value
A typical Asian restaurant. They quickly serve you and get you out.
Its delicious! You are kind
Good menu, especially when you cant read Chinese.
Always a crowd pleaser, fantastic tasting Cantonese fare.
Good food and great service by Kelly. I recommend this place. They serve fast even with many peoples reservations.
Food is different from location to location
Lot of choices and the food is decent.
Havent been here for a long time. I feel like the taste is getting worse, based on my previous experience. But it still has lots of customers. The mixed mushroom stew pot used to be my favorite one, but I think I wont order it again, at least not in this location. Service is just like that, not too bad. So overall, 3.5 stars
I was disappointed during my recent visit when I asked for the afternoon tea combo menu and was informed it wasnt available. However, I later noticed new guests receiving that very menu. This inconsistency was confusing and frustrating. I wont visit this restaurant again and will advise everyone I know to avoid it as well.
ate here 3 times. each time we ordered different dishes and each time, there s no flavor
Ordered online, was very dissatisfied when coupon doesn t work. When walking into store to take out, apparently the coupon was supposed to work but cashier refused to compensate what the coupon was supposed to provide
Don t order holiday set meal, not discount at all, equal the original meal price, what s the point of set meal
Oct2021: Excellent location for this GTA centred restaurant chain. In particular, this location has a nice, glass walled patio area that is comfortable to use. In my experience, the cantonese styled dishes are of a generous portion, a high consistent quality and delivered relatively quickly to your table. Im especially fond of the various congee dishes, the crispy fried noodles with seafood toppings, the fried turnip patties/cubes (mildly hot) and the shrimp or beef rice rolls. Nice place for a cantonese style family brunch. The menus are in English so ordering should be straightforward.
I congratulate the colleagues, good service, speed
Food was delicious but over priced. Spent roughly $100 and the food portions were very small.
Nice location, good food.
The food was excellent! We took some home because we couldn t finish it all!
Found the prices a bit more for the quality of the food
Great food and good price
Great service from everyone!! Food tasted good too! Howevere we were more thirsty than normal after the meal.
We ordered the lobster dish amongst many other items on the menu. The lobster was delicious but a bit small. The large seafood congee was on point as usual. Plenty of free parking spaces available
Great food here! I love the milk pudding dessert . The place was packed but we did not wait long.
Big portion, consistent quality, comfortable seating
I was disappointed with my dining experience. The roasted pork with bitter melon and rice was too dry and overly salty, although the side dishes were passable. The salted fish and chicken fried rice was decent but failed to impress. The mango slush was underwhelming and not enjoyable. Service was equally lackluster, with a noticeable disinterest from the staff, making the atmosphere quite unwelcoming. Unfortunately, I cant recommend this place based on my visit.
The taste really went down hill at this location. We used to love this place. Today we tried 4 dishes and they were all very bland.
Service was exceptional! Went in, took our order and food was ready within 10min or possibly even less. Service was great and food was amazing
Always great food.
Congee Queen is usually my go-to spot for comfort food. Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience at this location. 1. The service was extremely slow. And when the waitress did arrive, I felt rushed through my order. 2. The quality of the food was okay. It tasted sub-par, and it also did not look like the photo in the menu. 3. The overall vibe of this restaurant felt chaotic and disorganized.
The tofu and pork belly rice was terrible. The roasted meat was like bark. Service non exist, 15-20% tips? It was good before though!
The. worst. service. One of the lady servers has no hesitance to express her bad attitudes
Nothing to brag about, food is ok.
Super YUMMMYYYYY FOOOOOD, MASSIVE PORTIONSSSSS, you have to go here with multiple people because 2 dishes can feed like 4 people atleast in my family, we go with two adults and one toddler and we take home food and have tons for like two days, always fresh. Kid-friendliness: they have high chairs for toddlers.
Got takeout for 10 people and all the food was done in 15 mins. Very happy with the quick service and for a chain the food is pretty good.
They asked for tips no matter how the service was. They looked at me angrily when I said I would not give tips. My mom had to give them extra 10 dollars because she felt so embarassed when they looked angry at us! I wont judge them. Readers may judge yourselves. Food
The presence of flies was bearable but I dont think Ill ever come back. The food is average nothing was outstanding but the way they handle cash payments is a bit underhanded. I paid cash for a dinner out with friends and gave a considerable tip. I realized the amount that was given back to me was less than what I was supposed to get. But without a receipt I would never be able to refute this error and they would never be able to check on their end since they write on a piece of paper what the total is if youre paying cash.
I have been coming here since it opened for business. A very convenient location next to the 404. Capable staff, always courteous and fast. I also come to buy take out food. Just a wonderful place serving the neighborhood.
A good place to eat Chinese food for a decent price, if u lucky enough there have no lineup, but sometimes u need to wait to be seated.
It tastes really good , every dish is delicious, cooked just right, but the lobster meat is a bit missing, the fish meat and fish bones are very delicious, and the fried rice is a bit bland but very healthy. The service was very attentive and they even gave us sugar water. Stephanie was kind enough to pack it for us. Thank you. We will come again next time. Highly recommended.
Variety and flavour ! Quick service! Extensive menu, you can find something to please everyone! They offer specials on holidays for 4 6 or 8 people. Really enjoy visiting any of the restaurants in this chain@
The food tastes clean and delicious. Its easy for Koreans to eat, and its not salty, so its good.
Writing this review on behalf of my mother in law. We are very disappointed with our experience at this Congee Queen. At the end of the meal, my mother in law and a group of her friends all pitched in cash to pay, the amount included a 10% tip. They counted the cash two times since it was a bunch of people pooling in money. The wait staff took it away, and then came back, slammed the money down on the table, and declared this is not enough . The staff then counted the money right in front of them, with the amount being $20 less than what was put down initially (again, it was counted twice beforehand) The biggest slap in the face was that EVEN WITH $20 less, the amount would have covered the entire meal, it was just less of a tip. Looking at many other reviews, wait staff demanding a larger tip at this location by declaring what was given was not enough is a common theme. I ve honestly never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life - I understand tips are the only way to make a living wage for many serving staff, but demanding more like that is NEVER acceptable. So, a word of warning - if you re paying a large amount of cash in smaller bills, count the money IN FRONT of the server before they take it away.
* Bad service and waitress are a nightmare* I was here the other day with some friends, and one thing I will say the service was horrible after tipping one of the waiters came back demanding more tips, I understand tips are important but to come to a student and throw a fit at a FAMILY restaurant over a tip is disgusting and rude I recommend people not go here if you want to yelled at the waitress for something kind that you are doing.
Had a decent experience and wouldnt be writing if a situation didnt unfold. We ordered fried rice and other dishes. The stir fried turnip cakes were a bit of a disappointment and they burned our fried rice. During bill pay the the person at the cash was not satisfied with 10% tip and demanded more. Well we paid the tip and leaving a review also for other to see. We went up to get take out boxes for left overs and and the waitress was alarmed and told us she would get an ear full since she didnt help us. We didnt fault the waitress but wanted to write this to hopefully encourage management to treat their staff better.
I took my family to dine two days earlier. My children really liked the mustard clam porridge, and my other two family members liked the eel fried rice. I also ordered the rice noodles. It was delicious and not too chewy. The shrimp wontons were very big. It is highly recommended. Kid-friendliness: Very suitable for childrens taste
Great food and very friendly staff!!!
Food quality consistent. Service is either amazing or non-existent.
Very crowded and busy place at all times. The good is solid and delicious. Fast service and meals are delivered very quickly
Its busy for a reason but once seated, food is served quickly. Decent and fast service. Think of it as an Asian Swiss chalet, for a guaranteed good meal you really cant go wrong. Of course they have good congee but they also have noodle soups, side dishes like fried turnip and tofu, soups, even thai inspired dishes. Parking can be a problem on their oddly shaped lot, not to mention idiotic drivers on the prowl. 5% off if paying by cash
Very busy at dinner time. Congee Queen is always good!!!
Torontos crown jewel of Chinese cuisine. Congee Queen has long been one of our family s go-to restaurants. They have many GTA locations including the OG location at Steeles/404. It s always crowded in the meal times. This time we enjoyed Cantonese classics : - Shrimp Wonton Soup: huge wonton balls - Seafood Chow Mein (Fried Noodles): crisp noodles loaded with seafood & sauce on top - Spicy Fried Turnip Patties: always done-well - BBQ Pork & Roast Pork Platter: cut straight from tasty meats hanging at the BBQ counter The menu is extensive but well-executed for the classics. What keeps us coming back is the consistent flavor at an affordable price point.
A nice modern casual Cantonese dinning joint, great food at great prices, nice big servings family style, featuring mainly Cantonese stir fries, congee, noodle & rice dishes, also limited pan-Asian cuisine such as Thai & Singapore, efficient fast piping hot service, helpful staff.
The food space is small too. The quality is also poor
It s been a while since we visited this store. We had a good impression of all Queen s Famous Porridge branches in the past. But today we were disappointed. I ordered a piece of silverfish with the Queens secret sauce. I tasted a piece and it was obviously not silverfish. I asked the waiter in the restaurant and she insisted that it was silverfish without contacting the chef or manager. See Im not the only one making a complaint. When I was paying the bill, I asked another waiter the same question. She also retorted and even asked the waiter next to me to help. I told them that I would treat your manager and chef to eat this dish! If customers also have questions about the ingredients, do we still have confidence in the Queens Famous Porridge brand? I paid for this ad. Thanks
Great food. Portions are large so consider sharing.
French cuisine Chinese restaurant.
Good food and friendly fast service. Worth a family trip.
