Poutine with no cheese and lumpy gravy. Gross stringy meat. Very poor food for a high price.
It was my first time coming into this place with my daughter and my mom. I went to order while they sat down. As soon as my mom sat down with my daughter this guy comes out and shouts at her “no outside food”. I think he scared everyone there. A simple “ Sorry guys but we don’t allow outside food” thing would’ve been appropriate. But screaming at my child and mom was beyond unnecessary and disgusting behaviour. Other people in the restaurant complained. He never once apologized too which just proves my point the lack of respect they have towards customers. I will not be returning. Oh and the wings I order tasted like frozen ones. We threw them out.
I ordered a Reuben and it was good. However, there is one to note; this restaurant is VERY overpriced! I understand as a kosher restaurant there are costs to meet, but the sandwich itself maybe would cost 10-11, and I paid 20 dollars for it. Also a Reuben should not have a burger bun on it.
Came here for father's day dinner and completely ruined our day. Paid $50+ and got yelled at. This review is two fold, the food and the experience. When we walked in, it smelled good and were excited. We ordered the fried chicken, which had an unique smoky aroma. Not sure if that was intended or not, but it didn't taste good. It was not crispy enough and was cold despite us waiting for 20 minutes and eating it fresh. The only good thing was that it wasn't dry. The burger was a big disappointment. It didn't taste like anything at all. Couldn't taste the meat (no flavour and super thin) , the tomatoes was bland and it just felt like I was eating the bun with ketchup. We also ordered the Chicago dog but they gave us the chili dog instead, so that had to be changed. And didn't make it a combo like we ordered so had to wait a while again for the fries to come. They were fine to me, but my toddler that was asking and asking for fries didn't even touch them at the end. Guess he didn't like it. Now to the experience. Honestly, I wasn't expecting to be yelled at by the owner /manager. He came out with headphones on so maybe he didn't realize how rude and loud he was. I had taken out my 2 year old's usual dinnerware out: water bottle, a plate and utensils. Since there was quite a wait I started giving him some steamed brocoli and a juice box that I had brought. Manager comes out screaming that no outside food is allowed, to which I responded promptly "sorry, I didn't know." and put everything away in a matter of seconds. He continues to berate us saying there's a sign AND CAN'T YOU READ THE SIGN? Again, I had already put them away immediately to avoid a scene. The cashier mentioned to my husband that it's because it's a kosher restaurant. After a while he comes back and apologizes, which I appreciated. What really capped off this terrible experience was that he came out a third time to tell me that I can't even use the toddler plate that I brought with me for my 2 yr old to use, but he couldn't provide me with an alternative. My son ended up eating on a piece of paper and couldn't drink his water. Honestly, we couldn't wait to get out of there after paying $50+ for the meal and being yelled at unnecessarily. Both my husband and I had stomach aches at the end of the night.
Quality of food is OK, but see the review pictures of the thick patties from 6 months ago? You're not getting those today. The patties are paper thin, but the quality and freshness of the ingredients is good. Good, fresh fries, but zero seasoning or salt. Wife ordered a burger with kosher beef-bacon and it seemed to come with a corned beef product instead. Expensive. Almost $50 for 1 burger and 1 combo. Cleanliness wasn't outstanding either. See pic of the napkin dispenser at the table. Pretty nasty. I had to use my knuckle on the water dispenser button at the machine as it was extra grimey. Not likely to return.
First time visiting this place and decided to try their tacos. The grilled chicken one was okay, the pulled brisket was much better. Overall the tacos were not bad but kinda overpriced tbh - $16.99+tax for 2 tacos. Service wasn't rude but wasn't great either. I also got there close to closing time, so that mught be why. Might try their burger next time!
Sheli's is Legit!! Tucked away in the plaza at Chabad Gate and Bathurst St in Thornhill is one of the areas truly amazing restaurants. Sheli's is legit, as I have travelled all over North America and ate at of some of the most established Fried Chicken Joints America has to offer. Some Examples are Hattie B's in Nashville, Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in Memphis, Sams Fried Chicken and Donuts in Houston and The Red Yeti in Jeffersonville IN. I've had some good Fried Chicken and Southern Style foods. Sheli's is no exception, I found the place purely by Fluke after picking up my kids from a birthday party in the plaza. I saw the sign, I saw the crowd, and I saw all the Kippahs so I was curious. Low and Behold, little did I know that Thornhill has its own fried chicken joint. Sheli's has gone so far as to keep it Kosher but keep it as Southern Style as possible with its pressure cooked chicken and other items. I spoke to the guy at the counter who although busy, was more than happy to share the history and the concept of Sheli's. Based on his recommendation we got an order of Home Cut Fries, a helping of Popcorn Chicken and I personally tried the BBQ Chicken Sandwich. We loved everything we got, the fries were very good, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sandwich was out of this world. I have been back a few times with friends to try the Burgers, Beef Bacon and the fried chicken. I have to say the food is top-notch, take from a guy whose been around, Sheli's is legit!!
Good food overall, with just a few tolerable problems. Chicken good, burgers tasty (although I don't recommend the vegetarian burger or the specialty burgers), decent onion rings. The salad we got for $10 was a disappointment. Venue is a bit chaotic and small (only three large tables and stools at a counter), plus some cleanliness concerns, but when things get busy and the place is full of kids what can you do? For Toronto kosher food it's certainly one of the top places to go, although that doesn't say much.

Called in and was told I could replace a $7 add on with an extra piece of chicken. Placed 2 orders online only to then be told we Dont do that by someone else when I got my food without the extra chicken. Terrible customer service at this location.

Amazing Place, I had the Double Sabra and I was amazed by the taste, quality and even the cooking. Their patties were daily fresh, made on daily fresh brioche bun from the Bakery next to them. Not only was their beef real, unprocessed, well seasoned it was also well cooked (a lot of places over cook it, youd be surprised) Also loved the fact they dont charge you for simple toppings like mushrooms The only thing I saw that they could improve is the dine in experience, sure I get it its a takeout place, but, instead of bringing the burger wrapped in paper simply brought individually to your table, I think a tray or something similar could be useful even in a self-serve way. Overall an amazing place with amazing food, you cant go wrong Will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu too

The food tastes like plastic. But the staff are very fast, you get your food less than 5 minutes when it s not busy. The food is really dry and gross.
Just picked up take out for the first time !! Was sooo yummy!!! Fries were so crispy and warm and not soggy at all like most places when getting take out.. the burgers were delicious my kids ate it all up!! Thank you :) will definitely come back soon!!!
No customer service at all go somewhere else
The food is not terrible but it s also not great enough to be charging 16.99 for a burger and nothing else. I ordered two burgers and added fries and one drink to share. To add a drink and fries it s an additional 7.99. I wouldn t normally complain as I ll spend a good amount of money for an amazing burger but this just wasn t it. I m not sure what justification they have for the price but I definitely would not eat here a second time. Service was good though

Stay away from this place. Especially with kids! Terrible experience . We were in the area with my family my wife and 3 kids. From the start the atmosphere of the cashier was awaful so unpleasant and even rude. Any question I asked they roll their eyes. The food came after15 minutes maybe too long for this type of thing fast food - burger and fired chicken. I ordered a burger and my wife and kids a bucket of fried chicken. The prices are overpriced and expensive. The food wasnt good the burger was too salty and the meat felt like frozen meat not fresh. My kids 6 and 3 years didnt like the fried chicken the dough was thick and spicy and the meat was raw inside. Now to the worst part. My daughter (6yo) had taken a sip from a bottle of water and the owner came to us from the kitchen he was very rude and angry - No external food and drink allowed are you kidding me? Shes 6 and thats just water. Anyway I felt terrible sitting there and we so we threw our expensive food to the nearest trash can and ran away from there. Dont even try this place do yourself a favor.

The Manager is a complete rude person who has no respect for his customers as he yelled at my friend who simply asked him a question about garlic sauce:( also the hot dogs were under cooked but we didn t want anymore intersections with this manager, after spending $60 on under cooked hotdogs and putting up with rudeness I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst friend.

Some of the best service i ve had in a while. Everyone from the owner to the workers were super polite and gave great recommendations. Simple put, good people even greater food. I grabbed some wings, onion rings and smoked brisket burgers for my boys, everything was on point. Keep up the great work guys
Great food, bad service. Online ordering doesnt work. I try it every time I order. When I call in my order I often cant get through. When picking up an order I have to wait in the same line as people ordering which takes too long and is frustrating. My food is almost always cold by the time I pay. Really a shame because the food is so good.

Amazing sauce amazing place to get lunch or dinner
This is to address the House Salad. Obviously the main attraction here isn t the salad- but having a salad with 2 thick circles of sliced tomato, not diced, is very frustrating. We had to cut the tomato into pieces ourselves. Please make sure the tomato is diced when making the House Salad.
The chicken is great. The combo doesnt have enough coleslaw for the number of servings of chicken there are, but everything was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend, but plan your sides accordingly. Dietary restrictions: Kosher meat! Parking: I never have trouble parking at thatplaza. Drivers be crazy, mind you. Kid-friendliness: Nothing in particular. Just a good place with enough options to get kids fed. Wheelchair accessibility: The place is level. Once you get inside, you can sit everywhere except the diner bar area

Has to be 1 of my favourite Kosher serving restaurants, their fried/crispy chicken is my usual go-to (plus their unique sauce). All their burgers are also worth having, I really love this place.

Great burgers with great selection of free toppings. Chicken tenders are second to none. Unfortunately the manager is very rude and doesnt know anything about customer service to the point that even with amazing food, I dont feel like going back. We ordered a couple of burgers, onion rings and chicken tenders. When we asked for napkins, we were told to get napkins from home!
Terrible customer service from manager. I was standing there for several minutes and I had to ask to be helped. He also did not appreciate me asking questions about their menu. Despite the name Louisiana Chicken I dont think its a crime to ask more questions considering Ive never ordered this before, especially from this location. I know its been difficult for smal businesses in these trying times and I was trying to do my part in supporting this local restaurant, but after such rudeness and unappreciative attitude, I left without any food and I dont think it phased this manager at all. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Just bad service. The lady that took our order wasnt pleasant. I was waiting for 40 minutes with my family outdise for our food. Didnt get any sauces on the side with our burgers. When I went back to ask for some, got a rude answer (at first the same lady even wanted to charge me a dollar per sauce!!!) When I finally arrived home, to eat the dry burgers, which we bought to celebrate my sons birthday, I saw they forgot one of the fries. Called them to complain, but instead was on hold for another 7 minutes. Thats when I just gave up... Thats just poor service

Tasty burgers with fun toppings, like carmellized onion and Sautéed mushrooms. Burgers are a bit thin, so if youre hungry, go for the double patty. The tables are set up like picnic tables with benches, which isnt ideal but casual and friendly. If they changed the seating, Id consider increasing my rating to a 5 star. Fried chicken is crispy but could have a little more flavour and spice. Expect a short wait as there is usually a line up here.

Coming from Israel, it gets four stars, but it definitely is a Toronto 5 star kosher restaurant. Good food, ok service, reasonable cost.
Small burgers. But the toppings are incredible. Great selection. Good fries. 12 different sauces to choose from with your chicken nuggets! Milkshakes are Amazing, I had the Oreo crumble milkshake, an hourblayer and Im still in euphoria.

Racist team leader yelling out yala after i rejected offer for free saturated oily not crispy french fries. 5. My first visit was bitter sweet. Bitter cus Im better + they know + cant stand it. Sweet cus I filled up on empty. 6. Q: Will it be my last visit? A: yes Not because of the service, but the food is mediocre at best. I visited hoping for the best, but instead resulted in the worst. I used a fake name Goldman wondering if it would make a difference and I was still treated like a 3rd class citizen. Israeli owned business called shelis, fit 4 the pit.

Great food and service
I went off the usual and order the chicken and onion rings. First of the best onion rings I ever tasted and the southern fried chicken was excellent. Eli is truly a mensch and understands the customer. Thank you it was truly delightful
