Looking for an authentic korean restaurant which serves kalguksu, bulgogi, gyoza and plethora of other items? Well, Myeongdong Gyoza Kalguksu offers all of that at an affordable price. Pay a visit to our restaurant today to explore delicious and mouthwatering foods !!!
Excellent food and excellent service. The noodles are made in-house so definitely worth trying if you're debating between that and rice. This was my first time having Korean style dumplings and they hit the spot on a cold day. The whole meal was like a warm hug.
Visited for the first time shortly after having kalguksu at another Korean restaurant. The noodles and dumplings were both great. We also got a bulgogi but it was actually really dry and tough. I hope that was just an outlier and not the norm. The service is exceptionally friendly here and definitely will get me to come back and try them out again!
What a great find. Tucked in a neighborhood plaza - this place offers authentic Korean fare. Menu is small but every dish is on point! Must try their Mandu and of course Kalguksu. Great flavours. And they are open 365 days!!
Went there for Sunday lunch. Everything was great from fast & friendly service up to the food. Mandus were good. Seafood pancake was great. Bulgogi set was Ok. Ended up $70, and $63 with 10% cash discount.
I absolutely love the authenticity of this place. The tender, flavorful meat, savoury noodles, and the delicious kimchi and sauces make every dish stand out. Everything seems freshly handmade, enhancing the overall experience. It's easily one of the best Korean restaurants in Toronto, delivering traditional flavors with high quality. If you're looking for an authentic Korean meal with rich tastes and satisfying portions, this is a must-visit spot. Perfect for anyone who appreciates genuine Korean cuisine. Also very convenient location as well.
I found Myeongdong on Google search as I was in the area. The food is truly authentic Korean style and it tasted great. Great atmosphere to dine in with kids, the servers were friendly.
Definitely come to try the gyoza. They take it so seriously here that when they served them, they told us one of them came out not looking so good so they brought out another one instead. Between the pork and the kimchi gyoza I definitely preferred the pork one. We ordered three of the set meals - I tried the Jaeyuk which came with KalGukSu and rice. They also serve kimchi and are very generous with the refills. The KalGukSu is incredible, the broth is really light and the noodles have a great texture.
Pretty tasty food with good portions at reasonable prices. The restaurant was pretty clean and the service was friendly too. I enjoyed my food but my personal tastes say the soup is a bit on the lighter side in terms of richness. They did have sauces though and kimchi to add to the flavor which was quite nice.
Oustanding service and food tastes homemade!
Its so delicious
Its nice to be able to eat handmade dumplings and hot kalguksu. Its beef bone-based kalguksu, so the broth and taste are different from Myeongdong Gyoza in Myeongdong, Korea, but the kimchi is also delicious and good. I love dumplings so much. The meat dumplings are thick, but the skin is thin and the inside is tender. Its not salty and smooth, so its easy to eat. Ive tried bossam and stir-fried pork, but the bossam set meal comes with mini kalguksu, so it seems like a good option. The stir-fried pork had a fiery flavor and was good because it was seasoned, but it was disappointing because it smelled a bit like meat. It was delicious though. In particular, the staff here are really friendly. They always check in advance with a smile to see if the side dishes are missing or if they taste good. I really want to praise the young employees^^
I ordered small and medium size set of bossam with one order of their signature dumplings. It came to $85 cash. The dumplings were good as usual, however the pork in bossam were like 90% fat and only 10% meat. We had to throw them out because it was disgusting. We always ordered the same menu when we sit down and eat at the restaurant and it was good quality meat but I guess they give out bad ones for take out order because people can t see until they go home. Very angry and disappointed.
Great food and very nice service Would go there again! Food
One of the best Korean dumplings and noodles in Thornhill. Their serivce is good as well.
Good authentic Korean food. Feels like youre in Korea.
One precious restaurant has disappeared. All the food has changed from before, even the noodle soup is different, the kimchi is different, and even the inside of the dumplings tastes different, so it seems difficult to go there anymore... Still, the service was very good
This is my first time coming to Canada and seeing handmade dumplings. Kimchi and kalguksu dumplings are delicious. Its better than most Korean restaurants.
I went on a short trip to Canada and came here on the recommendation of a friend. It was so, so delicious. I recommend the dumplings and kalguksu.
The homemade dumplings were so filling and delicious! However, the taste of the kimchi dumplings seemed to be somewhat divisive. The bossam was chewy and delicious, and the kalguksu was a bit disappointing... However, the staff was very friendly, which made me feel better
So yummy and amazing service!!
Absolutely amazing experience, the quality of the food and friendly service is above and beyond. The kimchi is !!! Will be coming back for sure :)
Very yummy broth!! The dumplings are so well balanced and the kimchi is takeout worthy Above all customer service is amazing! So kind Food
Kalguksu is sooo yummy here. I ve been to the other location but this place is waay better! Staff are super helpful and nice. The kimchi here is so good too.
Good authentic Korean food.
Had the pork mandu and kalguksu. Delicious food and great service!
Good food and good service
I would recommend the pork gyoza ($15) with Kalguksoo ($14). With refills on kimchi and tea, this is the perfect lunch combo. The service is very good and the place is very clean. Im definitely coming back when Im in the area, and I will be recommending this place to friends.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was very cozy and comfortable. The service was also amazing, very attentive people and there is kimchi refill. The Kalguksu was delicious. The broth is very beefy and flavourful. The Tteokbokki was nicely chewy and a huge portion. Food : 5/5 |
Please refrain from telling any more lies. Its really garbage. The day is cold, the tea is cold, the kalguksu soup is lukewarm, the dumplings smell old and are lukewarm, the kimchi is dry, the bulgogi is dry and twisted, and the store is cold. If you plan to continue operating in the future, please refer to it carefully and improve. I am posting this to be of help and hope that everything goes well for you.
I was very happy to have delicious food with a very friendly server. Needless to say, the dumplings were delicious. The liver was just right for Koreans. The kimchi was so delicious that I kept asking for refills haha. It was a soup that I would keep thinking about on cold days like this and would want to go back and eat again and again!!
Great food and service! I think management has changed but food still tastes really good and service got better. They are now open every day!
I was craving of Korean foods and try to find which place closed to us. We ended chosing this place. I was impressed by the way they serve customer. Very friendly and great environment to enjoy food. Their dishes were good also but wish they can have more dishes in the menu.
The dumplings are so delicious!
I visited the store and ordered kal-mandu and meat dumplings, and when I got home and opened them, the kal-mandu soup was lukewarm (it was even colder when I mixed it with the noodles). The house and the store are close, and now that I think about it, it wasnt hot when I received it. I think the dumplings were delicious, but Im reluctant to package the soup in the future. Please make sure to keep it warm when packaged.
Came here to try the dumplings for the first time which were good but was disappointed by the service. Got to the restaurant around 8:20pm and was seated immediately. The food came out quick after ordering, and the staff asked for the bills to be paid first as they were closing out the cash register for the night which is understandable because they were closing at 9pm. However at 8:55pm the staff came back again to tell the two tables left they were closing in 5 minutes and if we can finish the food by then. We only had a few dumplings left at that point but we ate them in a rush to be done. In all my experiences of dining, a restaurant has never asked its patrons to finish eating and leave by the closing time. If that is this restaurants policy, they should let customers know ahead of seating them.
I went here on the weekend and it was really delicious. This is my first time eating such delicious dumplings. The atmosphere was really nice and the service was great, so I was very satisfied with my meal. Haha. If the service is really good, the atmosphere is good, and the food is delicious, what can I do? Other stores will fail! Haha.
My friend recommended me to visit this restaurant, which satisfied me more than 100 percent. The owner is so kind and the dumplings are so delicious. I will visit again next time.
The food is wonderful and service too!! I had a great experience!!
First time here with the family and we were very impressed with the service and the food was absolutely delicious. Definitely coming back to this gem of a place.
This place has excellent services and the foods. I will come back with my friends and family. Food
I never thought I would come across a restaurant in Toronto, Canada that makes their own dumplings. Seeing the dumplings being made directly inside the store greatly increased my trust in the restaurant. There are meat dumplings and kimchi dumplings. The filling of the dumpling is so filling that it is really practical. There is also kalguksu, which combines noodles topped with beef and spicy beef stew. We recommend pampering yourself with chewy noodles and healthy broth. This is a K-FOOD restaurant that I really recommend among the noodle restaurants in Toronto.
This was the first place I visited when I arrived in Toronto, Canada. It was a more delicious experience than the dumplings and noodle soup I had in Korea.
It was so delicious and the servers were so friendly! In particular, the male staff was very kind!!
Dumplings are out of this world. Spicy pork was also incredible. Would most definitely recommend! Good service.
10/10 would recommend, they specialize in a few dishes and everything Ive had here is delicious. Their homemade kimchi is the best Ive ever had, and I love their spicy pork set and korean beef noodles. They have cold noodles for the summer and in my opinion is better than most places Ive tried!
The staffs were busy only to clean up tables, to give bills and to get new customers. They never even ask what the customers needed while eating. They dont understand how they provide services. Very disappointed.
Went there today around 12-12:30pm. No one greeted so we sat ourselves. Had to wave my hands several times to order. Ordered Yukgaejang Kalguksu & Dogani Kalgukso they were 22.99 each but the portion was so small! We found both dishes quite salty as well. We also ordered Kimchi mandu which usually comes as an appetizer but it came later and it had weird sour smell and odd taste to it. Not sure if they had a new staff but they were all over the place and we had to wait for food quite long. It was so busy and disorganized I couldnt really enjoy my food this time. It was very disappointing as we usually went there for good portion and speed of service. We also had to wait another 15-20min for jijim mandu takeout. Id personally recommend to order their basic kalguksi and kogi/meat mandu/dumpling for takeout and or dont go there for lunch hours. I know times are tough but really disappointed at the portion of the food :( I didnt even bother taking photo of the rest of the food.. Edit. I just checked my Jijim mandu takeout and its only 4 pieces of dumpling for 14.99!!! This is ridiculous! Definitely not going back (photo added).
Bossam is the same as what I had in Seoul, fragrant and not greasy. Pork mandu contains pork, leek, onion and zucchini, very delicious, highly recommended. Nice staff and parking space is quite sufficient here.
This used to be my favourite kalguksu restaurant but have noticed that the flavour and quality of food has not been up to par since the end of July. Im not sure if the chef or ownership has changed in recent months but the changes have been disappointing. I first noticed the change in August and thought maybe it was just an off day, but went again recently and it was unfortunately the same. The kimchi and kalguksu soup base were the main reasons I consistently came back, but they now taste like a down-graded version of what it used to be. The kimchi used to be super fresh, garlic-y, and spicy but now tastes pretty basic and similar to what you can buy at a grocery store. The soup base no longer has that strong, bone broth taste and is kind of bland and flavourless. The bossam still tastes good but I noticed that the ssamjang and mumallaengi-muchim that normally comes with the dish has changed as well (not bad, but different).
I can say here is one of the best Korean restaurants in Toronto. Food is very great and service is fantastic. I strongly recommend this place. I m sure I will come visit here more often!
I ordered it through Uber Eats, and the meat was from a strange part and had a great smell. I ordered a size large, but the quantity was only this much. When I look at the pictures posted by other people, I dont think its the same food at all. I dont think Ill be ordering anything in the future.
The food is always delicious and satisfying. Except for the fact that the price has risen a lot recently and it is burdensome.
Its so delicious that I have to import it back to Korea. When you go to Korean restaurants, you get the taste of Korean food with a bit of a foreign twist, but this place is really authentic Korean food. Not only is the food delicious, but even the soy sauce seasoning that came with the seafood and green onion pancakes was delicious. (The ratio of soy sauce to sesame oil and vinegar is just the golden ratio) The kimchi and geotjeori are delicious, and I just inhaled them while spitting them out with my friends. Jjolbokki, kalguksu, gyoza, seafood and green onion pancake, and bibim noodles were all eaten up. Chef, I enjoyed my meal~~!! May you prosper
Ive been to a lot of Korean restaurants while traveling abroad. There is no place where I can truly experience the taste of Korea as much as here. From the fact that they use two types of rice cakes for tteokbokki, I can already feel that they put a lot of care into their food. In particular, the bossam kimchi and geotjeori that came with bossam were really my style. Since it doesnt taste like Korean food made in a foreign country, it feels like the ingredients came from Korea. I get the feeling that every single thing was made with care. Anyway, the food details are 5 stars. C.f) The staff who served us were also very friendly!
Please really eat it Its difficult to enjoy the rich, deep taste of Korea in a foreign country, but this taste makes my homesickness for Korea disappear. The kalguksu broth is so delicious, and the gyoza has a thin skin and is full of meat, so the juice just flows out I also highly recommend the side menu at this restaurant. The tteokbokki and seafood pancake were so delicious!! It was a taste full of sincerity that made you feel like they put a lot of effort into making each and every menu item Be sure to go and try it!!! ***SUPER RECOMMENDATION***
I went there with my kids. What I ordered today were bean noodles, bibim cold noodles, bossam set meal, and kalguksu, and they were all delicious. Even my son, who is a picky eater, raves about it ^^ The staff were also friendly. thank you
The name Myeongdong Gyoza is meaningless. It was my first meal in Toronto and it wasnt very good. The noodles were too thick and undercooked. The broth tastes like bone powder, so we all know the taste, but the noodles dont really have that salty broth taste, so it feels like theres something very wrong with the noodles. The whole thing is salty, and I heard not only me but other tables complain about the noodles being undercooked to the point where they were almost dripping. Yes. Why are the reviews so good?? Seriously?? The kimchi at the kalguksu restaurant is originally a bit short, but other than salty, it doesn t have a bad taste and is of a different quality.
Most dishes were overly salty with an artificial taste, except for the dumplings. Both the Bibim Naengmyeon and Mul Naengmyeon had excessively sharp tastes and only came with an egg and a few cucumber slices. Typically, these dishes include slices of meat and pickled radish. The kimchi was also too salty and overly garlicky. At $20 per dish, the price was excessively high.
Very delicious foods. gyoza is a must try on their menu.
I liked kalgugksu and mandu, but the portion was very small compared to the price paid for the food.
TASTIEST KOREAN DUMPLINGS IN TORONTO!! I just keep coming back and telling my friends that its got the tastiest dumplings. Took my friend from Korea here and he loves it as well and said its one of his faves as well.
Great food. good service . Food
The dumplings are delicious and the kimchi is so delicious! Im curious about the other menus, so Im going to go and try them all.
This used to be our go to Korean spot however these past few months, seems like management has changed so the quality of food and customer service has drastically declined. The store is supposed to close at 9pm and I saw two customers get denied at 710pm due to kitchen being closed...
Taste of food was not bad at all. The middle aged womans customer service was terrible. Looked angry, no smiling, rude to questions, etc. Though food was OK, but I do not want to see her again. Food
Never go back! The service was crappy! However We paid with a very generous tip too. On the way out, one of the waitress stopped my father (a senior) and said he has to pay. My father was very upset and felt very insulted what kind of service is it. A apology was not enough for this kind of insulting. Be careful, take your receipt after pay. We never go back to this restaurant ever again!!!!
Dumplings and kimchi are delicious. Kalguksu is so tasteless
This food brings me back South Korea. It s truly authentic Korean cuisine and the quality is simply unmatched. Get the knife noodles with the king dumplings and your taste buds will thank you!
Another addition to the menu!! Its like a gift that keeps on giving!! Myeongdong Gyoza Kalguksu back again with another delicious new addition, the Spicy Pork Bibimbap. As always #cleanplategang
Theres a lot of quantity and its so delicious! Dumpling gravy is crazy! It s a taste that makes you want to come back! This restaurant also has delicious kimchi! The staff are really friendly and the restaurant is clean
Great service
Clean and had authentic taste, its hard to find such great noodle place even in Korea and this place had both great noodle and dumplings hope they open one in Indiana so we can have them every week
We were not far from here and spontaneously popped in for lunch. We took Gyoza and Bulgogi set. The dumplings have balanced meat-veggie filling. The set is also great and filling. I would like to highlight a meat (Bulgogi) with a sweet/savory flavor and a soup (Kalguksu) which is light and has delicious chewy noodles.
This places services fresh bowls of tasty Kalguksu and wonderful Wangmandu. All their menu items are prepared with skill. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the items are affordable. If you like noodles in broth and meaty dumplings, eat here. Vegetarian options: The Kongguksu is a great, nutty-forward cold noodle dish that is great in the summer.
Loved the food here my newest favourite Korean food spot, loved the Gyoza will definitely be back !
Polite and friendly staff. High quality delicious food. Will try again.
Try spicy cold noodles. Crazy good. Love the vibe and staff here.
Good food but doesn t have a variety of choice. They have cold noodles during summer time
Everyone that I know who tried their food loved it. Their kalguksu is delicious, the ingredients are all fresh. Kimchi is also excellent. This is by far the cleanest restaurant I know. Their kitchen is cleaner than most hospitals Ive been to. The owners really care about the quality of food, service, and it shows.
Great korean food. Both normal and kimchi mandu are superb.
best !
Its really delicious and clean.
The bean noodles are so delicious, the taste of my mom I miss Kimchi is also really great. I enjoyed it so much. Thank you.
Its clean, the food is neat and delicious! The staff are friendly.
best Korean food I ve had in Toronto so far. the bulgogi is literally to die for I don t know what they season the beef with but it s so intense and delicious, def a must try!! atmosphere is nice and calm and the place is airy and clean. The service is also great. Can t wait to be back!
Best food I ve ever had <3 thank you! I ll be coming back
Kalguksu. dumpling. Bossam is so delicious
I mean it s alright if you want food that s very and I mean VERY clean tasting then sure. Not much flavour and pretty pricey for what it is. Great kimchi though.
Kalguksu is delicious and great to have on a cold day. Soup is good but a bit salty. Kimchi is very fresh, crunchy and spicy. Also, I enjoyed their spicy pork and bulgogi set which comes with a smaller portion of kalguksu.
We ordered bossam and noodle. The bossam was good but the noodle was okay.
Come here for the 5 star kalguksu. The mandu dumplings are average a bit on the dry side so you need to enjoy it with sauce. However their broth for their noodle soup was so savory. I don t know what combination of seafood they used to build that base but it was delicious. As well, their kimchi is delicious. The kimchi isn t diluted and sour like the supermarket kind most restaurants serve. I think only Hanyang s kimchi comes out slightly ahead, but nonetheless we had 2 refills!
Authentic Korean restaurant
Excellent customer service and what we appreciated the most is the Cleanliness of the place. The food is fresh and overall delicious!
Food was authentic and delicious!
The giant gyoza tastes home made and the skin is very thin. Seafood pancake had a good amount of seafood in it. Kalguksu noodles has good texture.
Nice and clean, Gyoza tastes authentic. The portion of food is enough if compared to the price. Friendly staff.
Mandu was succulent, full of juice and with pleasantly translucent wrapping. Galguksu was outstanding, especially the beef bone broth, the pleasant clean flavour left a long-lasting impression on me. Bibim guksu was refreshing and adequately spicy at the same time. A very good experience overall, it was fairly busy around 1 pm, so there may be some wait. Ample parking on either side of the building.
Fav Korean spot in the area. They get busy on Sundays
Food was delicious! Kimchi is fresh, the best Ive had in Toronto and they give refills.
Its more delicious than Korea!!!!
Toronto people are so lucky because they can have delicious kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and mandu (dumplings) whenever they want. Im really jealous
Nice lunch location, good Gyoza ,even better with kimchi. Will always come back for more food.
Pretty accurate Myeongdong noodles! Very flavourful and kimchi was great (but quite spicy)
Loved the new menu<3
Good food, All staff are very kind
The best Korean noodles and kimchi I ever have around GTA area, and the services are always super great!!!
We get the hot plate pork set and it comes with small portion of noodles and rice. Then add a side of dumplings. Highly recommended since you get to try everything. We also recommend the clam broth noodles.
Korean dumpling ricecake soup is my favorite. Good food and service.
Small but tasty menu. The soups are different variations of the same type of beef bone broth soup, so the only different soup was the spicy beef bone broth one. Otherwise it s a clear beef broth base with knife cut noodles and gyoza or rice cakes. My suggestion is if you re sharing, get those jumbo gyoza on the side and order a plain kalguksu (no gyoza). If you re not sharing then I recommend getting the kalmanduguk - the beef bone broth soup with knife cut noodles and gyoza. The kimchi dumplings were good but I think I d go for the plain meat ones next time. The kimchi inside the dumplings was a tad too sour for my taste. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce for the dumplings though (some sort of soy/vinegar mixture). The server for my group was so attentive and provided anticipatory service, offering me an apron to help protect my white sweater from staining! I was pleasantly surprised and grateful too. Overall, great taste, portion size and service! Parking: A decent number of parking spaces - both front and back of the building.
Their quality has gone down, it is now mediocre. The service is pretty standard. Food
My favourite Korean restaurant in the whole city. They have a small but unique menu. The popular Mandu soup was so good. Also the in house kimchi is amazing!
I really enjoyed my experience here. The food was so good. The lady serving my table really took her time with us and was very pleasant.
Dumplings are delicious
Yummy dumplings and noodles
Best restaurant
The was pretty good but the , especially the broth, was amazing! Would definitely go back!
Food was average, not bad at all but nothing stands out. Price is pricier than average.
Food and service is excellent
I tried both the Bossam set and the gyoza. The gyoza was wonderfully steamed, with a juicy filling that made it very enjoyable. At $12.99 for six pieces, it was reasonably priced. However, the Bossam set, priced at $22.99, left me a bit underwhelmed. It included 10 small slices of meat and a small bowl of Kalguksu, I anticipated a more substantial portion for the price. The quantity of meat was rather limited, and the noodle bowl, part of the set, felt small and tasted average at best. While I found the Bossam set a bit lacking in value for its cost, I would maybe return for the gyoza. The kimchi is also delicious here!
Authentic Korean noodle place
So delicious!!! I had the bossam set meal which came with side dishes, meat, and a noodle soup!! Would recommend!
[visited 2023 December] My partner and I came in for lunch and shared a Bossam Kalguksu Set and an order of Gyoza. I enjoyed the bossam a lot, and it s always so fun to put together a lettuce wrap for it. The kimchi here is also one of the best I ve had in restaurants, it paired very nicely with everything. The Kalguksu was amazing. It is a light but creamy beef broth with a hint of pepper. This Bossam set was a good portion for us especially when we were sharing the Gyoza. The dumplings are huge they had a very thin wrapper and generous filling. If you are getting your own set/Kalguksu I feel like the gyoza should be shared between 3 people without leaving food behind. I really recommend sharing these two items between 2 people, we got to try so much and it s so nice to jump between flavours. I highly recommend this place and can t wait to pay them another visit soon!
Kind staffs, nice foods
Great dumplings and really fresh kimchi
The staff were beyond friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. My friends and I ordered so much food and everything was so insanely delicious. A must go-to when in Koreatown. Thanks so much for an amazing experience and for being so welcoming!!
this place is known for their giant gyozas. It is a must try dish when you go. if you like spicy then you will also like their kimchi. it is so hot but delicious. you can also buy some to take home. Also their noodles in soup is recommended. it really hits the spot if you want something homey and comforting. really nice when it is super cold outside. plenty of free parking in the front or back of the building.
Its a flour dish that costs over 15,000 won, but the toppings are too small. The soup is delicious. The price is too expensive compared to the food.
Portions were huge and very delicious!! Staff was very attentive and service was fast. Bulgogi wasn t overly oily and just right
Great food
Having a meal here is like giving my stomach a warm hug Everything is so good and I love getting the bossam set with kalguksu. You have to get the mandu/gyoza with your noodles too! It s a lot of food so I always have leftover bossam. Their kimchi is not fermented long, which I prefer and they have one of my favourite restaurant kimchi ever.
2023 August 4 A small cozy Korean shop with seating for about 40 patrons selling dumplings and beef based noodle soup. GYOZA $14.99 Homemade king size dumplings made with thin diough and flled with vegetables. served steamed. Very good and juicy. Would recommend. YukGaeJang KalGuksu $20.99 Homemade spicy beef soup with flat wheat noodles added to hot beef broth with vegetables. Perfectly spicy and b flavorful soup. Beef was tender. Would recommend. TTEOKGUK $16.99 Soup with sliced ovals of rice cakes in a clear beef broth, topped with slices of beef and julienned egg. Flavorful and really filling. KALGUKSOO AND SPICY PORK $22.99 I mean, everything was good including the pork. Though a smaller plate. Overall, a definite try. The beef soup base was flavorful. The dumplings are juicy. The kimchi was unlimited. Free parking.
The service is friendly. The food is the same and the kimchee is delicious too.
We got the spicy cold noodles & bulgogi set - everything was amazing! Restaurant was clean. Will definitely be returning.
dumpling! dumpling! dumpling!
Delicious kalgukusu and mandu. The staff also come by regularly to top up your kimchi which is nice and garlicky. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The staff are friendly and can help you with any questions about the dishes.
Happiness of tasting lovely food.
Theres no need to say anything about the dumplings, and the cold noodles and bibim cold noodles were sweet and refreshing, which was nice The staff was especially friendly and kept smiling from the time I came in until the moment I finished paying and leaving.
Still the same and good taste since i last came 1 year ago
Great korean place; definately come here
I was aimlessly scrolling Instagram food posts last night when I stumbled on this spot. The food-- especially the dumplings/gyoza-- looked fantastic, and I was certain itd be somewhere far, far, away. To my very pleasant surprise, it turned out the restaurant was just 2km from my home! Needless to say, dinner tomorrow = sorted!. And wow, I just finished my meal, and immediately had to hop on and fire off a review, it was just THAT impressive. Im just one person, but decided to get two dishes; the Bossam set, and the Gyoza. Both were absolutely bursting with flavour, and clearly utilize quality, fresh, ingredients. I seriously dont think Ive ever had a better dumpling-style dish from any of the countless dumpling-style dishes around the globe. These are absolutely massive, and one order could quite safely fill up two people. But I just cant get over the incredible flavour and overall quality. And the Bossam set... everything just comes together so flawlessly; the perfect marriage of deep flavours and textures. The kimchi might actually be the best Ive had at any Korean restaurant, and the soup that accompanies was excellent- a contrast to everything else, in that the broth was more subdued in flavour, yet at the same time deep if that makes sense- Id almost call it refreshing if it werent for the (superlative) noodles. My order was takeaway, but I did experience the warmth and kindness of the waitress I dealt with- she was fantastic in our brief interaction. Needless to say, I am so thrilled to discover this new-to-me gem, quite literally right around the corner from where I live. Korean is one of my favourite cuisines, and maybe I dont know the best spots, but Ive just been so disappointed by so many of them, whether downtown or here, uptown- Im so glad to find one that really delivers at a high level. I cannot wait for my next visit, and will surely introduce several friends. So nice when you find a hidden treasure like this right under your nose! What a quality flavour-bomb of a restaurant!
Incredibly delicious and affordable.
It tasted good with plenty of ingredients, and the service from the staff was excellent. I was disappointed that I couldnt try kimchi dumplings because they said they werent available on weekdays.
Recommended dishes
First-time to see such huge Korean Gyoza and it tastes so delicious and so filing .highly recommend. Shop itself very simple, not many seat and can easily full house. The menu is not complicated and simple. Famous of their rice cake noodle with clear beef broth soup and huge steamed gyoza. Won t be surprise, most patrons come here for their dumplings. Unlimited side kimchi dish. For me, their homemade kimchi is so good until can t resist to buy their 1 size of container of kimchi costs $12.00 each. And my second time to here.
The only thing I liked about here was the Gyoza. Everything else was alright. I would only go if I were craving Gyoza. The place wasnt busy but there were two servers, but they didnt serve us until 10 minutes in. Even when I looked at them, they just continued their conversations.
Yesterday, I had dinner with a family friend from afar. Thank you for the clean, neat food and friendly service!
Noodles were so fresh and chewy. Soup was well seasoned - not bland and not overly salty. Best Kalguksu! Bossam was cooked well. Dumpings were huge and its skin was so chewy! *Noodles was served with Kimchi which is traditional
Interesting Korean restaurant.
All the dishes taste good, even the side dish! Today is cold, and I get the hot barley tea! It really made my day! Food
Worth Trying. A homely, high quality Gyoza and Kalguksu focused place. Long lines on the weekend, arrive at opening recommended. Not the cheapest, but good quality. Gyoza - pretty good. Bossam Set - tender, juicy, decent set. Bulgogi Set - sweet salty umami. Not bad. Kimchi here is actually pretty good. Doesnt take AMEX. Parking is hard.
The environment is clean and the food is delicious. The steamed dumplings were big but too long to be steamed.
It s been really hard to find a good and ideal korean restsurant these days, but I finally found the hidden gem spot. Myeongdong Kalguksu s food was super yummy, also staff were superb which in turn added to the betterment of the food taste. I recommend the kimchi here as well. Enjoy everyone!
