100 Steeles Ave W, Thornhill, ON L4J 2L1, Canada
Wow I’m surprised that this location is having so low score on GG review because it is very good Korean cuisine :) i like this restaurant and my family goes here most of the time for comfort food 😊
I heard the management has been changed, and this deep-fried pork with sweet sauce would be delicious. But, it's kind of microwave cook. It is so dried and hard to chew like rubber. I guess a chef might use the leftover food to give a customer 🤔, which made it warm by a microwave. Some pieces of meats are even burnt, so I threw away in the garage bin. It is the worst food I have never had. So disappointed 😞
Based on my personal experience on the day I visited, the servers were friendly and attentive. I ordered jajangmyun and ganjajang, and they were pretty hefty in portion, not to mention its good taste. Their tangsooyook was pretty impressive because not only did it taste damn good, but the portion was a lot for a small size. I'd come back here any day.
Under the new management, this restaurant becomes my best Korean-Chinese restaurant. Especially quality of noodle is the best!
Friendly and cozy Chinese Korean style restaurant on Steeles. We stopped by to grab a quick dinner 🍽 and our order came right on time. The noodles are thin types but little more chewier than other places, but jjambbong soup and enough veges satisfied me enough.
Was looking for Sunny Dragon but I accidentally landed up in The Great Wall. We ordered Ja Jang Myun and Ra Jo Ki Bap. Both dishes were excellent. Being Asian I would have preferred a little more rice with my chicken. That's my only minor gripe. All in all great food, restaurant busy with Korean patrons ( a good sign if u r entering a Korean restaurant) ,clean and spacious dining area. Wait staff was very understanding and polite. We stood out like sore thumbs asking them what every table ordered. In the end they wanted to know if we liked their food. They didn't have to , our plates were empty! Also, menu is very reasonably priced. Definitely visiting again!
This place is small and cute and frequented by Koreans so you know this place is legit! The service was great as the staff were attentive (and even addressed our issue quickly when we noticed a hair in our noodles). The portions are large and the food is made more for sharing than for individual meals. I will say the sweet and sour pork was a bit disappointing as the meat was old and dry and hard to eat.
During my recent visit to this neighbourhood, I decided to revisit The Great Wall, a restaurant that once held a special place in my memory. Although there were glimpses of the good old times, I believe I need to update my rating. Gan Ja Jang: This dish has always been my personal favourite, and I was pleased to find that it was as good as I remembered it. They skillfully fried the black bean sauce, infusing it with the distinct smoky flavour that's a hallmark of the Chinese cuisine. The noodles were served separately, allowing me to adjust the amount of sauce to pour on it. It was rich and savoury, and had a lot of sweet, crunchy onions. It was overall good. Kan Pung Ki: The Sunday special, however, fell short of expectations. Deviating from the typical preparation, the chicken tasted more like Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), with the crispy chicken barely stir-fried with the sauce. Also, some chicken pieces were overcooked, resulting in an unpleasant crunch. It seemed there wasn't enough attention paid to the dish, which was disappointing because the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The restaurant's atmosphere was generally pleasant; the interior was well-kept, and the background music was at a comfortable level. The washroom could have been cleaner. A cash discount of 10% was advertised, but it required a minimum spend of $50 that I didn't reach. The server was efficient. While the Gan Ja Jang still shone with its robust flavours, the Kan Pung Ki was a letdown. As a previous long-time patron, I left feeling that the quality had declined. I still recommend the black bean noodles, but it will be some time before I consider a return visit.
What is this
We ve been visiting this restaurant at least twice a month for the past 10 years or so, They recently have changed ownership, And in doing so they have made quite a few negative changes. To start they only do a cash discount if your bill is over $100, This is very deceiving because they actually have a sign that says if you pay in cash, there s a discount (I don t remember if it s 5% or 10%). The second last time I was there, I paid in cash and after reviewing my receipt, I noticed there was no cash discount, When I asked the owner, he said that the bill has to be over $100 . OK, that s fine, I asked for my cash back and paid with a card, but it s still strike 1, strike 2 Was last Sunday, We ordered a white seafood jjampong (not spicy), Without exaggeration, it had two small pieces of octopus leg (About an inch and a half long, And 2 cm width), And 1 mussel .. Blasphemy. When I addressed this politely with the owner, He stared at me with a blank face .. No explanation or apology. I told them this was the last time we would be back here, politely. There is a place a couple of traffic lights west of this place, It s called (Sunny Dragon Restaurant), their food is superior Now that this place really stinks. If you don t know anything about korean-chinese food Then you might be fine with this place, But if you know what good food is . Stay far away from this place because you will be disappointed. I would like to thank the previous owner for a great 10+ years., I don t think this new owner will survive much longer at this rate . He clearly has no business skills. Rule number #1 of taking over an existing business is to not make any drastic changes at the very beginning, implementing changes should be done slowly. I m sure this place will not survive.
I went to eat with my family last weekend. This is a place I go to once or twice a month. I thought it would get better after the owner changed... . While we were eating lamb stew skin, one of the ingredients was so salty that the whole family spit it out. I called the server and asked, and he said he would look into it and that it was a jellyfish. There wasnt even a word to say sorry or what to do. At the end, the boss came with the receipt and I told him, and he said he knew. It was absurd. The owner and the workers are the same!!! How do you want tips while working like this? Its really the worst. Taste is important, but I think service is just as important as receiving a tip.
An acquaintance who lives out of state always asks me to eat at the Great Wall of China when he comes to Toronto every few months, so Ive been visiting Jaui and Tauis classes regularly for a long time. Last June, when I visited with an acquaintance, the owner changed and the hall system and food taste also changed. I was planning to post a review, but I didnt write a review because I thought it would take time for my acquaintance to pay for the meal and for the new owner to make the food taste normal, but today Kim suddenly said yes. After seeing Jjamppong Shorts, I was craving Jjamppong so I visited with my wife. I did not come with an acquaintance, but I ate with my own money, so I am posting a legitimate review. First of all, on a busy weekend evening, there were only about 1/3 of the guests in the hall, so it felt uncomfortable from the moment I entered. First of all, I was not used to tablet ordering, so it was difficult from the start because I had to call a hall server to order. The jjamppong I ordered didnt taste bad and had big shrimp. The food was sloppy, with only tough frozen squid and no large mussels, and the black bean paste + sweet and sour pork that Waip ordered was divided into two bowls under the guise of a combo. The amount of black bean noodles was reduced by half, and the sweet and sour pork was fried with glutinous rice and came in about 6 pieces, so the price of the black bean paste noodles was $10. One piece of sweet and sour pork costs about $1, so its very cost-effective. Moreover, the sweet and sour pork was not seasoned and had a spicy smell. From the owners point of view, it may be tempting to install tablets to save on labor costs and save on ingredients to increase the margin while operating at a high rent, but it is natural that regular customers will drop out one by one if the taste and quality of the food is inferior to the food they have been eating since the last owner. I am posting the review I was planning to post during my June visit because I did not see any improvement after a re-visit with a grace period, so the owner is requested to check the food taste, hall service, cost-effectiveness, etc. and make improvements. Before that, I had no intention of revisiting even if an acquaintance came from out of state!!!
This is our 4 th visit ! Great food with new management Superb home made noodle, ja jang sauce was fantastic. Their batter for tangsuyuk is the best I have tasted anywhere in North America
Its been a while since I went and ordered takeout sweet and sour pork, but I thought I was chewing on chicken bones... I put the one that wasnt sold in the microwave and it tasted like the meat was completely burned inside. We ordered a takeout for the fried pork and it truly had the texture of chicken bones. My dad said they mustve microwaved the leftovers they couldnt sell, because the meat inside was so stiff and dry. Horrible.
Its been a long time since I last went and ate it, but I was surprised at how chewy and delicious the sweet and sour pork was! The servers were also friendly
I went today and ordered sweet and sour pork, but it was the worst, so I left it as is. If it had been changed to glutinous rice sweet and sour pork, it should have had a chewy taste, but it was the worst kind of sweet and sour pork, almost like dried rubber. Today will probably be my last visit.
I dont recommend this restaurant The customer service is terrible and food tastes terrible
The food is good but man, the service is the worst I ve ever had. Honestly service I would give 0.1/10.
I know its because youre busy, but I wish you could do some basic greeting. Also, I wonder if the delivery drivers and pick-up customers could be kinder... The food is pretty good. I wish the soy sauce was a little less seasoned.
The restaurant recently changed the owner and the food is sooo yummy! If you truly want to experience Korean black noodle, zzangpong and tangsuyuk, you gotta really try here! Will definitely come back again!!!
The worst place ever. Food taste horrible. Will never come back.
I bought jajangmyun and tangsuyuk. Under new management and maybe new cook or recipes, the food tasted awful. The Jajangmyun was extremely sour and did not have any meat, the tangsuyuk was gamey. After going to this location for years, I can say that I wont be going here ever again. RIP The Great Wall
It s delicious~^^
My liver has become very bland. The sweet and sour pork I received today via Uber was also very hard. I tried it for the fourth time after the owner changed. I thought it would get better, but the bland taste is still there. Im so sorry.
The taste has improved a lot these days. Jjajangmyeon & Jjamppong is the best value for money among the Chinese restaurants Ive tried recently. I will go often..
I ordered jjamppong, black bean noodles, sweet and sour pork, and the food was all very delicious. In particular, the noodles were very chewy and the combination with the sauce was great. It tastes just like the one I had in Korea!! The sweet and sour pork was also crispy and good. They say there has been a new owner and the taste seems to have gotten better
Ordered takeout and thoroughly enjoyed each dish! Well packaged and fresh. Highly recommend the jajangmyun, tangsuyuk, and kkanpoongi. Thank you so much!
Its been a while since i came here to try Korean Chinese food, especially Jajangmyeon. Since theyve advertised that theyre under new management, I thought Id give it a try. First thing i noticed was they have a new system to put your orders in. At each table, theres a tablet you can use to look at the menu and order food, which was very handy. However, thats all the nice change i can say about the new management. The food was still underwhelming and bland. Jajangmyeon ( ) lacked flavours and seemed like missing quite a few ingredients youd normally see in it. Kanpoongi ( ) was way too sweet and tasted just like sweet and sour pork youd find at typical Chinese restaurants. Id rather go elsewhere in the area for jajangmyeon or any type of the similar Korean Chinese food
The best korean-chinese restaurant in town! With new management, became my favorite! Check this place out!!!
I bought Jjambbong and it was the worst 3 mussels and a few pieces of small squid Vegetables were also poor.... new owner They say...
Newly opened? Its been a while since I went there because I heard they were holding a commemorative event. I had Jjajangmyeon, Jjamppong, sweet and sour pork, and fried rice, and they were all delicious. In particular, the sweet and sour pork, which was soft on the outside, was the best. I hope this quality continues for a long time.
Both Jjajang Jjamppong were delicious.
The best jjajangmyun and tangsooyook in Toronto. The store reopened with better recipes and service. This restaurant will be the place that I will bring my friends if they are craving for Korean-Chinese food. Food
I visited all the Jjajangmyeon restaurants in Canada, and Great Wall had the best Korean Jajangmyeon and the noodles were really delicious.
Changed owner, its so delicious!!! I recommend Yuringi and Jjambbong!!
The taste of the Jjambbong was absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork Yurigi. I enjoyed it.
I had a delightful dinner combo for two people at a restaurant with great service. However, I cannot give a full five-star rating for the atmosphere. We were the last ones to dine in, but the staff began cleaning the floors and tables with cleaning products, which made us uncomfortable. When the waiter brought our food, he was in the middle of cleaning the floors, and I was concerned about whether he had washed his hands thoroughly since he was using bare hands to hold a mop. Therefore, I cannot give a full five-star rating. Nevertheless, the food was excellent, except for the smell of the cleaning product Javax while we were dining inside the restaurant.
The taste was a bit disappointing compared to the price. The content of the sauce in sweet and sour pork has been significantly reduced compared to before. Now all I see is a bit of onion and pieces of apple and carrot. Gospel rice also has almost no vegetables. Jjambbong was a bit spicy and there was too much seasoning in the soup so it was difficult to eat. If the price had been raised according to inflation, the quality would have to be maintained similar to before, but the price has risen and the quality has fallen drastically.
Its been a while since I had Jjajangmyeon and Jajangjang with my husband, but I was so full after eating somewhere else that I didnt think I could eat sweet and sour pork or other dishes, so I didnt order. Even though I ate after I was full, the Jjajangmyeon and Jjajang were delicious, so I ate a bowl of them. Even though I only ordered Jjajangmyeon, they took care of me if I needed anything during the meal, and asked if I enjoyed the meal afterward. I was impressed by the customer service. This is the Great Wall of China that I want to keep visiting in the future^^~ I hope you always succeed and stay at the Great Wall for a long time!
It was my first time going on a family day and it was so delicious! I ordered Samseon fried rice/Samseon jjambbong/sweet and sour pork, and it was so plentiful and delicious that I think Ill only go here in Uptown from now on
Tasty food, deliciously fresh chewy noodles and quick friendly service, cant ask for more!
The service was very good. It was a friendly and customized service. We talked about what food to order and ended up ordering what we always ordered, but the service turned out to be what we had given up on. I was really thankful that the person taking the order seemed to have listened to everything and then given it to us as a service. I recommend this place as a place you will want to come back to again and again as it makes for a pleasant day.
There were always a lot of people, so I went at a time when there werent too many people. Jjajang is cheap... but it was too bland. There are no ingredients in sight... it doesnt seem like it used to... it feels like the cold soup was brought to the jjamppong. It was disappointing
I went today. It may be a little different depending on my taste, but I am always satisfied. I ate Yuringi, and the outside was thin and crispy, and there was no chicken smell, so I was happy the whole time I was eating it.
The sweet and sour pork is so black and salty that it wont cut. Kneaded food is the same The jjajang noodles were slippery and the taste was much worse than before.
Jjamppong and Jjajangmyeon became very delicious. The servers are also really friendly.
Great Korean food! Simple and casual setting. Must Try: Yu Rin Ki, Tang Su Yuk (pork), Kam Pung Ki, Mapu Tofu, Ja Jang Myun
I try to make reservation for 25-30 people, and they said we have to order the food minimum $25 for each person, usually staying time is 2h, but we can only stay 1.5h, I find their conversation was very very rude.
This was my second visit and the combo menu was well prepared. My child likes the fried dumplings here. They are crispy and fried well. The jjajang was not too sweet, which was good for my taste, and the jjamppong was also spicy, which I liked. Sweet and sour pork is served with sauce, but it is best to ask in advance if you want the sauce separately. And there was a lot of food left over, so I asked for takeout, and they gave it to me separately. Overall, the amount is quite large.
Great value Taste good as well
Sweet and sour pork was delicious!
Today, the whole family ate japchae rice, fried rice, and sweet and sour pork, and it was very delicious. I think it s really the best in Toronto!! I think I had a better time with my family because the female server was so kind. thank you
I like it because they are so friendly every time I go. Yuringi Jjajangmyeon Jjamppong is all delicious!
While eating Jjamppong, something that looked like plastic came out. What was it? . The taste is so-so... . For reference, I went with my Chinese husband. I ordered it wrong and ate it late. It would be better not to eat the set.
Food was good but expensive , i paid for 3 dishes $100 including tips.
Food: Worst Tang Yu Suk I ve ever eaten. Soggy. More breading than pork. Service: Ignored us for pretty much the entire duration of meal. 0/10.
I went there often because the noodles were so delicious. But some staffs keep asking for more tips. Is the 15% tip low? It was a very violent experience. I dont eat out now. This is because I hate employees who ask for unreasonable tips without service.
The only Chinese restaurant I go to in Toronto is the Great Wall. The food is delicious and most of all, the servers are really nice. These days, the taste seems to have gotten better, so Im coming back for it a lot. Its a great atmosphere to go with family. Yellow hair the last time I visited? There was a server with bleached short hair who was pretty and kind. I dont know if shell see this, but I want to say thank you so much! Anyway, the Great Wall of China is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, and everyone is nice, so I visit often. Hope you prosper!!
It was my first time coming here and the servers were as nice as they said!! The food was really delicious too!! I was surprised that it tasted better than a Korean Chinese restaurant. In particular, the dishes such as sheep intestine skin were really delicious, and even though there were quite a few customers, they served us kindly!! One of the servers stood out a bit because he had yellow hair, but I was thankful that he was so nice~~ Thanks to you, I have a great time with my friends.
I went there on Friday afternoon^^ My daughter loves it!! I was grateful to the yellow-haired server for taking such great care of my child.^^ hahahaha The kids enjoy it and my husband likes it too. The food is so delicious^^ Thank you always!! I spent about 60 dollars.
Even after washing my eyes and spraying eye drops, I couldnt see the beef in the soy sauce. Even so, the seasoning wasnt done, the mushrooms werent even cooked, the shrimp tasted like rubber pieces, and the soup was even cloudy in color. It was truly the worst Jjamppong Ive ever had in my life. Its not that I cant eat it because its not delicious, its just not delicious. It was the worst Jjambbong Ive ever had in over 20 years of living in Toronto.
Stay away from this restaurant, people are working there are not polite specially one of waiter called Su was extremely careless in hygiene and disrespectful to the customer. If your health and service quality is important to you stay away from this place.
The servers worst response to missing orders. Changed taste. A restaurant where only the owner is full.
my go to chinese-korean restaurant for many many years now!
I went to the Great Wall of China for dinner. I went there on Halloween night and it was so delicious that I m posting a review now! I went with my boyfriend and we both left satisfied. The server was friendly and he was around the same age as me, so I spoke to him and he spoke kindly, so we quickly became friends and it was so much fun! And the server was dressed up as a cat. It was something I had never imagined, so I came out laughing so hard. The atmosphere looked so good!! Anyway, the food was so delicious and I plan to come here to a Chinese restaurant in the future!! I didnt take a picture, but I ate sweet and sour pork and it was delicious!! Come visit sometime~~
Always the best jjajangmyun and Korean-chinese food. Beats all the downtown Korean-chinese places
Of all the Korean restaurants in Toronto Ive experienced, this place has the friendliest service! The price is reasonable, but the food is also very delicious. Its a place I never regret visiting again, and Ill use it even more often!
My favorite Chinese Korean food
Ill be frank, I havent been to this place in a long time, because of terrible service I got a few years ago. This time around, at least the service was not bad. The food quality, however, was not what we expected. The noodles were a bit dry, and the seasoning was a bit too much. I would come here in the future if I am around the area, but likely won t actively look to go.
Friendly service and food is great. Large portions too.
Their jajangmyeon is umami.
Good Food kind staffs
Ordered a shrimp stir fried rice coming with a blackbean sauce and a spicy soup. Very satisfied with the overall taste and how they harmonized :)
This is my go to Korean chinese restaurant in Toronto.
Always good food there and super friendly staff.
its good i came here after swimming class everyday, price is too high, very loud, but overall its fine
Good!!....i like its
My friend and I ordered black bean noodles and tasted amazing!! Nice and warm Jasmin tea is served a free of charge as well.
Never go. Bad service, would rather not eat and starve
As rumored, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Toronto. The service is friendly, the store is clean, and the food is delicious. There were 2 of us who had a large bowl of Nanja Wans & a double bowl of Jjajangmyeon & regular Jjajangmyeon & 100ml of Yantai Kaorang Liquor... The Nanja meatballs were generous in quantity and delicious even though the meatballs seemed a bit overcooked, and the Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) were also generous in quantity. Just giving Yantai Kaoliang liquor in a sake bottle is a bit... If you had said there was none, I would have drank soju... Anyway, as I heard, I enjoyed it and enjoyed it...
food is amazing value and service was lovely
I gave them some spoiled pickled radish lol.
I enjoyed the Kosoyore very deliciously ^^ Nurungji, Yangjangpi, Yusanseul, Shrimp, Sweet and Sour Pork, Fried Rice, Jjambbong, Jjeongban Jjajang..... But there are only a few tray jjajang haha.
Hit or miss.
The quality was surprisingly horrible. The sweet and sour pork was very stale, even after requesting that they fry it fresh because last time we had this dish, it was also stale. You can smell how stale this dish was. The black bean noodles was so blend, it seems very watered down. The spicy seafood noodle was good but overall I dont think I will be coming back. Ive given this place few tries but its consistently disappointing and I rather not spend any more money here.
My house in China.
The service was friendlier than before and the food was delicious.
Extremely poor customer service. We ordered along with many other dishes; however, our table was too small that we couldnt possibly fit all the plates and eat comfortably. So we kindly asked our to be split into two smaller bowls, but the owner flat out rejected our request saying that we cant order and then ask for two s. We tried explaining our situation saying that the table was too small but she kept insisting that we were being ridiculous. Here is a piece of advice. Next time, actually take the time to listen to your customers requests and think about the reasoning behind their requests.
I visited for dinner and ordered FRIED shrimp, but it was super soggy and not freshed at all. Another lady came to our table and she said we shouldve asked to make it crispier. Whats the point of something fried? If the customer complain about something, you have to apologize them. I wont be coming back anymore.
Great food. I love zza jjang myun
This is the worst experience Ive had in a long time. I entered at 9 and as soon as I was seated, The server informed me that it closes at 10 oclock. The store smelled of cigarette smoke. By the time we were done eating, the cook even came. He glanced at me to see if I had eaten everything and left. Im leaving after paying, but Im holding on to it and it will be refunded within a few days. They asked me to pay again with a card other than AMEX. At least you told me in advance that you dont accept AMEX. This is my first time experiencing such an absurd experience in my life. As a restaurant, please follow the basics. I wont go again, but others I am writing a review in the hope that you will not suffer any harm.
Good price. Great portion. Lack of server.
Two person combo special is the best bang for the buck option out of all the competitors on Steeles.
Great servers and delicious food! All the waiters are very nice and speak Korean and English.
Absolutely terrible service ever! I asked for more onions, but they had this look and said hate this kind of customer in Korean. Umm hello? I can hear you speaking in Korea. We LITERALLY should stop going to this restaurant and stop supporting this restaurant! They are not HUMANS!
When I came out after eating, they forced me to tip so the food tasted bad. Its a very unpleasant place where I cant give as much as I want and I have to give the amount they force me to give. I wonder if this is the only Chinese restaurant. I should never go here again, absolutely, never... ah, I was in a bad mood.
I had red pepper jjamppong, which wasnt too spicy, but was delicious. Sweet and sour pork was also delicious, but my order came out a little late. I dont know why, but the food came out with people who came in about 10 minutes later than us. I thought I was starving to death. That made it taste even more delicious. Look at me..!
I ordered sweet and sour pork through the Uber app, but it was delivered yesterday or the day before, either refried or air fried. The batter was hard instead of crispy, and the meat inside was shrunken, hard, and so dry that I ate several of them and threw them away. Oh my, that s a waste of money.. You shouldn t do business like this. Tsk tsk
Great food!
Loved their Yang Jang Pi and shrimp fried rice! I ordered for myself but it lasted me for 3 meals. Large portions and great taste.
I can recommend this as a delicious Chinese restaurant in Toronto. There are a lot of people during lunch time.
Theres a Korean restaurant. Good food
I ordered combo for 2 ppl. But I could not took a picture whole dishes. It was so tasty the black noodle too. And this pork fries was so delicious and huge quantity
Delicious lunch! Cham pong for $12.99.
The food I had from last visit was improved.
Korean Chinese restaurant
Jajangmyeon sweet and sour pork is really delicious! I enjoyed the jjamppong rice.
The Kkanpunggi sauce was delicious. My younger child could eat the entire plate of Jjajangmyeon, but my eldest son, who likes Jjamppong, left some Jjamppong. My eldest son said it was delicious, but the sweet and sour pork came out mushy.
I ate it after ordering it, but the taste of the food was way below my expectations. However, because food can vary depending on who cooks it and mistakes can be made, I called my wife and politely told her that it tasted strange. However, I was taken aback when my wife asked why I wanted to teach her, and she hung up the phone. As someone who used to cook, I dont usually give bad reviews, but I really dont think this restaurant is... Im attaching a photo. This is sweet and sour pork made from dried chicken. It wasnt just one thing, it was all of them.
Taste is consistent and never disappointing. The service can be better.
Service was bad and food was sub par. When this place opened years and years ago it was delicious. Now the jjajang noodle sauce was 90% small diced cabbage and onion which diluted the black bean sauce and made it look barfy and no black bean flavor. The tangsooyook meat was dry and the sauce was cold. It was obvious they had pre-made sauce and just threw raw veggies on top. You need to cook the sauce with the veggies to get them soft and flavor the sauce but they took the shortcut here. Also sauce had no pineapples and mushrooms. They topped it with raw onions and raw carrots. Bleh. Disappointingly overpriced for the food.
Its been a while since I ordered a late lunch to avoid the busiest times and waited. The men at the other table seemed to be acquaintances and their food came out quickly. The restaurant staff finished their lunch. I waited for a while, but my friends table was given more meal menus, and Jjajang and Jjamppong were served. After a while, the menu items we ordered were finally brought out one by one. Its not busy and there arent many tables with customers. Jjajang is salty, jjamppong is a few pieces of squid, one shrimp, and various vegetables are onions. It seems like they are using too much ingredients. The sweet and sour pork was a bit hard, but it was still edible. Meanwhile, prices are rising compared to before! If you pay in cash, you can get a 10% discount on purchases over $30. Changed to over $50. I felt like it was a waste to tip while paying.
Nice place to visit!
Delicious noodles
Foods are soso. Service is great~
The taste is truly inedible.... I ordered Jjamppong Jjajang Sweet and Sour Pork, but the Jjamppong tastes so strange... The Sweet and Sour Pork is so fried that it hurts my teeth... Im posting this because I think this is too much as I work in the food business.. If youre nearby, get it right away. I want to go, but I just go straight to the trash can ~~~ Im really angry..
My preferred spot for Ja Jang Myun and Gan Ja Jang. Nice flavouring of their sauce and good texture of the noodles. Other dishes are also good and tasty.
The prices have gone up, but the food doesnt even contain the right ingredients. The taste is not good either. Even though I felt that way before, I went back one more time to check, but as expected... I decided not to visit again.
To be honest, I was worried after reading the reviews, but it was delicious. Its better than most restaurants Ive had food delivered to in Korea... The combo comes with a small size, but it doesnt look like a small size at all... I ate a lot... I asked them to change it to kansho shrimp instead of kkanpung shrimp, but thank you for agreeing to it. My friends who went with me also gave me the same price. The food was reasonable, the portions were plentiful, and the fries were so delicious that I emptied my plate There was a wait of about 30 minutes, but it was worth the wait. Strongly recommended
Over the years, owners and chefs has been changed quite a few times which affected the taste as well as the service. Just visited recently and the taste and the service seemed to be on the positive side. Looking forward to visiting the place again. This place is Korean-Chinese Restaurant for those who do not know what they serve. Think of it like the style of food of Hakka, Chinese food influenced by Indian Food.
Was very disappointing. There customer service is good the servers were very helpful but the food made everything go to waste.
Uses to be good
The sweet and sour pork is still delicious~ It was a shame that there were no mushrooms in the jjamppong and sweet and sour pork... but the staff were so friendly that I was so thankful that I enjoyed the food. I went as a walk-in without making a reservation, and although it seemed busy because it was lunch time, they catered to me very kindly and I was able to sit down and eat right away without having to wait.
Red pepper jjamppong.. just light...
I ordered black bean noodles, sweet and sour pork, and gospel rice and it was really delicious. But when I went back recently, the Jjajangmyeon was spicy and my father said the Jjamppong was not tasty. Thanks to you, I went to different Chinese restaurants over the past month. However, I only had one incident like that, so I think it was a mistake. When I go again, I hope they dont make the jjajangmyeon so hot. For reference, this all happened before the coronavirus outbreak.
Great food, Good service in the restaurant prior to covid. During covid for takeouts, If they are busy, they tend to miss (asking for soup) or mix up notes in order (asking for less yellow radish and more raw onion).
Awesome Korean/Chinese food!! Awesome quality! Incredible portions! Great service and excellent price. Certainly a must try! Chef quality in a very casual setting!! Only drawback is parking in plaza is busy. Worth parking across the street and going for a walk.
Their black bean noodles was nice. The fried pork was horrible. Dry and tasteless. Like a chewy sponge
This restaurant food has a bad taste. I don t recommend the sweet and sour pork. The sauce is too sweet and the deep fried pork have a thick batter. I don t want to eat from this restaurant anymore It s a waste of money!
The Great Wall is pretty authentic Korean restaurant offering Ja Jang Myun (Black Bean Sauce Noodle) and Cham Pong (Red Spicy Noodle Soup with Seafood), and those two are the only things you should get here. The other items on the menu are okay, but their Cham Pong is incredible.
Forced to tip
The sweet and sour pork batter was soggy and felt like it had been fried again, and I couldnt eat it because I couldnt eat it, probably because they put a lot of miwon in the jjamppong and jjajang, so I ended up eating it. The service wasnt as friendly as before and I often went here for Chinese food, but this time I was very disappointed.
Big portions, flavours can be better. Good pricing for the 3 combo: Black bean noodles, seafood noodle soup, and sweet n sour pork.
Ordered delivery and found a finger nail in the food. Owner refuses to refund us
Not so welcoming was my experience
Their food was good and reasonable price. It is a good place to get together for family!
i am sitting at the table right now waiting for my food for 20 minutes
Good portion, savory and well-cooked, friendly staffs and descent parking space, minus one star because of one male staff.
Go eat instant noodles, same thing but better.
Good fusion, Korean-style Chinese dishes. Try their package menus for several different dishes for multiple people.
Good food Very nice service!
sweet and sour pork large Violation large One pickled radish????????? Do you think pickled radish is expensive?
It is unbelievable that this place is still open. They are not that kind of people who respect and appreciate their customers. Besides, the quality of their foods is getting worse and worse. Dont spend your money for the people who disrespect you! There are many other places to go nearby.
Ive been consistently going to this place for the last few months...yesterday I had the seafood noodle...and everything seemed okay at first and then I came down with food poisoning. Still feeling sick never going back here.
I think the amount of tray jjajang has decreased by 20-30% compared to a month ago, perhaps because of the pandemic.
friendly serve
I visited here sometime during weekend. The food was nice, but the service was bad. What happened today was that one of servers directly asked me for paying 10% tip. Generally, a restaurant would ask you about service satisfaction if you pay less tip(which is generally 15%). To be honest, everything was late and even i got food served after someone who ordered later than me. Do not expect any service here and keep in mind you sould pay min 10% tip without service. The reason I left a small tip is because I wasnt satisfied with the service. It wasnt my first time visiting, and I usually always pay 15% when I go. Rather than coming directly and asking for a 10 percent tip, I think it would be more appropriate to ask me what I was dissatisfied with the service.
They are good
Good food at a decent price. I love the Jajangmyeon there. Delish!
The food was really good as always, knocking off a star because the guy rudely refused to give my friend a mask
The portion of small sized sweet sour pork was enough for two. Gan ja jang was also authentic but slightly salty. A waitress was really kind and helpful. My Chinese friend is addicted to Koreanized Chinese food after trying the food here iryewon.
The only thing in the jjajang sauce was onions, cabbage, and two chewed up pieces of meat the size of peas. I ordered soy sauce to make it a little more delicious... but I thought it would be difficult due to the coronavirus, so I tipped $3 first. I just cant pass it up, this is my first time writing a review!!
