The lemon ricotta pancakes were absolutely divine. Highly recommended. Hubby got the pick 5 * breakfast. The turkey sausage was over done, to the point of not being palatable, and he asked for the bacon crispy and it wasnt. I absolutely loved the personal pots of coffee - decaf for me and regular for hubby. Service was great. They give you lots of time to look over the very extensive breakfast menu. Id go back for the pancakes or maybe to try the stuffed french toast, which the table next to us had and looked simply divine! Pokemon players: plenty of stops on this street! Go for a walk after and enjoy!!

Cosmos diner impressed me with the food and service!

This place has a huge menu of endless options and yet some how the food comes out hot and quickly. The service was very friendly and they leave the coffee pot on the table. The most incredible bread comes with the breakfast place and should not be missed. Prices cant be beat and this is well worth the drive from Niagara Falls.

The owner of this store is a racist and very rude lady, and I had the worst experience of my life here. Please, if you are a foreigner, dont go to this store until they improve their manners.

This diner is quick and efficient for a bite to eat. Pancakes were delicious. Our server was prompt and polite.

If I could give zero stars I would. Hands down the worst breakfast restaurant Ive ever been too. We (table of 3) waited in the tiny doorway for about 20 minutes waiting to be seated. The waiter was very pleasant but not very attentive. 2 of us ordered the choose your own breakfast, and one of us ordered a pre set breakfast combo. The menu is very confused with way way too much on it. After waiting about 45 minutes after ordering the food finally came out and we all just looked down and looked up at each other. The tater tots and bacon were so over cooked it was shocking they would send it out! Bacon was black and like glass, literally glass. Even the table beside us didnt eat theres and the waitress didnt notice until they were ready to leave and cooked them more to take home. The tater tots just crumbled into dust. The scrambled eggs were cooked, but the easy over were hard over. Even the bread has no butter and we had to ask for more. No one enjoyed the half cooked and burnt on one side sausages either and left pretty much all of them in our plates. For $32 for 2 people, its a mistake we wont ever make again. The inside is dirty and very old, and not a nice retro old. After using the bathroom and seeing how filthy it was I still had high hopes for the food, but was truly disappointed. Im not sure how they have won all the readers choice awards from Niagara this week they have all over the counter. Save your money and go somewhere else that wont make you sick.

Its a cute breakfast place. I didnt enjoy the breakfast sausage, however, as it had a peculiar taste to it. The rest of the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Homefries were my favorite!

Definitely lived up to the hype. Ordered fruit and got a nice little bowl with pineapple, banana, apples and berries. Bacon was lean and tasty. Home fries were to die for. Service was flawless. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff quick meals

Cute little place that clearly has the attentions of locals. The one server was doing her best to keep up but an additional pair of hands would be a great help! Honestly disappointed. We love to support our local businesses and have been here before and it has been great! This was a different experience. As soon as we received our coffee and ordered we were ignored. The service was not friendly and we felt like a burden to the servers. The restaurant was not very busy it and took over an hour to receive our food and we were not checked up on once the entire hour. Such a shame because the food was good! Hopefully they can fix the staffing issue.

We use to go to cosmos all the time, but haven t been in a long time, we always enjoyed it never had a complaint! But today we realized prices went up which I totally understand! But the food was not the same, I ordered the breakfast poutine which was my absolute favourite, and it just just wasn t the same,it was cold!!! My husband got the corn beef hash and it was the same cold My daughters meal was fine ! Overall for the food we were disappointed. The waitress was amazing, friendly nice and made sure our coffees were filled. The restaurant itself I found was very dirty. The carpet had food all over it, the bathroom was very dirty. Just not how it use to be. The knifes had food still stuck on them, which I understand , sometimes the machine doesn t catch everything, but it still through me off due to cleanliness of the restaurant. For a $63 breakfast it wasn t worth it. Kid-friendliness: Provided crayons for my daughter to colour The server even cut the straw so my daughter could drink her milk appropriately.

The last time I went maybe a few months ago it was REALLY good, but this time was kinda disappointing. The pancakes were so much smaller, and they were the main thing I wanted. Maybe the thickness of the pancakes makes up for the size but theres only so thick a pancake can be before its not good and it was pretty close.

Service was very slow. Had to wait 40 minutes for hashbrowns and slices of tomatoes. My boyfriends food was butter with a side of breakfast food he did not finish the plate. We complained and was not offered a discount or anything. This did not live up to the reviews we read. Would not recommend

Been coming here when Im in thorold since 2000. Always the same quality. Super retro inside I LOVE that they play oldies music. Reminds me of my momma. The food is deeeeelish and for great prices. And the fresh squeezed juice is magnificent. I would recommend highly. My fave is the 5 for $10 breakfast , the waffles, and of course the OJ. If youre ever in thorold give them a try.

The menu is large and the food is really good. My only complaint is the cleanliness. It needs a real good clean. Please put the coffee pots in the dishwasher!!

Great little restaurant! I got the Comet for breakfast and it was like a comet of flavours exploding in my mouth. It was great and I will definitely blast off to the Cosmos next time I am in the area.

Had breakfast here and it was delicious!! I had the avacado and bacon eggs benedict with home fries!! It was soo good, the home fries are the best Ive had. Others at the table got breakfast specials...eggs, home fries, bacon and toast. The portion are generous! My niece got the kids pancakes and she was very happy...they were big! Lol The staff was so friendly and the service was fast! Worth a visit next time you are in Thorold!!

After reading an interview of the owner of Cosmos Diner in Niagara This Week ... her values are in line with mine ... protecting each other is the way out of this lockdown. When you open on Thursday Ill be placing my first of many orders with you :-)

I was at Cosmos today for the first time. Wow! It lived up to its reputation. The food was outstanding. Unfortunately, I was there when two ladies caused quite the scene and stomped out throwing five dollars at the server. I can t believe during these unprecedented times two grown women would behave this way. It was busy but our server reassured us that it would just be a short wait and she was right. Hopefully when people go out to eat they have more kindness then these two women exhibited. In it together - support restaurants!

Im not one to post reviews but wow. My sister and I went in there this morning and there was one server working the whole place. She was very nice and that was the only good thing about this place. It was so dirty, coffee spilled all over the floor and no one cleaning it up. There was a hair in the bowl with the milk and cream. My sisters tea pot was filthy and our coffee Mugs had residue in them. We read the reviews from a year ago and they mentioned it being dirty and hair in the food, but figured wed give it the benefit of the doubt a year later. Its still the same, we couldnt even stay to order food so we left the server $5 and went to a different place. *No scene was made what so ever. We politely and quietly got up and thanked the server before leaving*

Excellent as always! This place is amazing, no frills, just great food, service and music. Our tables, cutlery and dishes were all clean, food came out in timely manner, server was super friendly and polite. 10/10 would recommend and will return.

Great little gem!

Found this gem on skip and had to try it. I was blown away! It was easily the best breakfast I have had in such a long time! The comet ( peanut butter and jam stuffed french toast, dipped in pancake batter then deep fried) is a must try, amazing take on an old classic. Corned beef hash is also amazing. So many amazing things to say about this place, but you should see for yourself!! Cant wait to order again and hopefully dine-in very shortly.

Love the crepe platter comes with a crepe, eggs and your choice of side for $15. Only suggestion is you should add drinks to your online orders

Found multiple hairs in my food, oily finger prints all over the plate, and the food was meh at best. Definitely not going again.

We saw that Cosmos Diner was voted #1 breakfast in Niagara and had to give it a try. We googled the time that it was open until on Fridays since we were heading out for a later breakfast and they were listed as open until 3pm. It was 1pm at this point so we headed over. We arrived at 1:15 to find out they close at 2. We figured 45 minutes was enough time for us to eat and leave. Our server immediately let us know that they were closing at 2 and was clearly not happy we were there. She was trying to hide the pure misery of our arrival, but it was not genuine. After she took our order she cane back and slammed our cutlery onto our table. After that she seemed to have been a bit more relaxed. Coming from the restaurant industry, we understand the dread of people walking in close to closing. But we just wanted to eat and leave and spend our money there. We ended up out of there right at 2 pm. We loved our food a lot, it was delicious and we will come back, but I feel like we maybe should have given our money to another business who actually wanted it that day. Sorry if we inconvenienced the server.

Great home fries

Ate there last week and the Food was the Worst food I ve eaten in a long time. The place was not even better. That restaurant can t be recommended just avoided

First time in I was happy with the everything. Breakfast is well priced and tasty. Second time in this morning I was disappointed. The cutlery was dirty and home fries were way greasier than before. I looked around and noticed the place needs a little tlc. Overall the service is great but cleanliness isnt great.

our server was great. the food was alright. the over easy eggs were hard. our main concern was the lipstick stains on my coffee mug. one lip stain on either side of the mug. we told our server and she brought us a new cup. second my boyfriend found a long black hair mixed in with his eggs and hash browns . well hidden but it was still spotted. we took photos also.

I liked this diner a lot! The interior was bright and colourful, with pictures of classic stars and vintage records adorning the walls. Even the fixtures gave the place a nice retro feel. The place is of a good size, but it wasnt crowded around 2pm on Saturday. The menu is huge, with so many options that youll be inclined to come back to try something new. This visit we tried the breakfast poutine and breakfast lasagna as they sounded unique. Both were delicious and very filling, and were of good value considering the price. Overall, Im looking forward to visiting again. This is a place youd want to go whether youre looking for a nice nostalgic joint or hearty hangover food (I wont tell you which reason I came here for).

I suppose I should have listened to my own advice, normally I read the negative reviews first, and see if theres a response from management. I decide whether or not I will attend at a establishment based on the manager owners responses. My boyfriend suggested we go here, without me looking up reviews. Based on how the owner responds to criticism , its suggest to me that any form of resolution at this establishment is likely not going to be favorable for the customer. Might I suggest to the owner that she curb her excuses and condescending tone when responding to constructive criticism from customers. With that being said, we arrived at Cosmos on Sunday morning at 10:06 a.m., Although our waitress was very friendly, she clearly didnt have her area well organized. There were four girls serving approximately eight or nine tables, you would think that service would not be a problem. We didnt receive our food until 11:07, we were actually packing up and ready to walk out at that time. When the food did arrive, I will admit that it was very good, cooked to my satisfaction, and I would definitely eat again had it not been for the fact that it cost us $47 for three people to eat! Thats two adults and one six year old. That is ridiculous! Not in a lifetime should breakfast ever cost anywhere near $50. I got a breakfast bowl, my boyfriend got a create your own meal with five items, and my daughter did a childs create your own meal with 5 items. I suspected the bill to be about $30, not 50! I will admit that the fresh squeezed orange juice was a nice surprise, but definitely not worth almost $5 a glass! Even hot chocolate was ridiculously priced. Needless to say I will not be returning based on value and the incredibly slow amount of time it took to get breakfast. By reading the other comments, this seems to be a regular theme. Its sad, because their food is really good. Just not worth the time and money.

I go here fairly often and always have a blast, the menu is huge and fairly priced but I would highly recomend the deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich defintely a favourite

One of my go to breaky places! Skillets are good but this last time there was WAAAAAY too much grease. I couldnt finish because everything was covered in thick grease. Good coffee and average prices. Nice and clean. Pleasant staff.

I came from Hamilton because I heard about how good this place and WOW was it worth it!! The food was so amazing and the owners were so friendly. After reading some reviews, I didn t know what to expect but I seriously wonder what these people did to get such a bad experience. The owner was such a nice woman and the chef came out and we had such a nice conversation about the food. I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back soon!

Awesome food

I informed the server of my food allergy when it was my turn to order. She basically told me I shouldnt eat there. Perhaps, food safety training is necessary for kitchen staff, if they do not know how to accommodate people who have food allergies. The server could also use some training on customer service as well, she made me feel very awkward in front of others at my table. On a good note, the food was tasty.

Honestly its average at best. Cutlery was filthy, which was awful to see since the spoon came in the coffee - when we pulled it out it was crusted with gunk. However, the server was quick to apologize and replace the dishes and coffee. The eggs and pancakes and toast were great. The hash browns were mediocre, and the bacon and sausage were quite frankly terrible - the sausage looked like it had been cooked, refrigerated, and then deep fried . It had a hard crust that went through half the sausage. It could just be a bad day, and I didnt try their infamous stuffed French toast - judging by the pancakes it would be amazing. I wouldnt go there again for a traditional breakfast, but Ill probably try again for their specialty at some point.

Good breakfasts and friendly stafg

Ive gone to Cosmos all the time while at Brock and the meat skillet is always fantastic. Its always hot and so big I usually have to take some of it home. Ive grown to know the staff and the owners and its evident that they take pride in their business. The owners are always there working every day and their consistency and attention to detail never seems to dwindle. We need more business owners like these two in Thorold, considering they have owned this business for like 20 years. They must be doing something right!
