Went for dinner last night with my wife. Service was great the food was very good. I would say with the atmosphere, food, and great service it was a pleasure.

Exceeded expectations in every category! Every dish was delicious but the veal tomahawk especially stood out. The server Trevor was hospitable, funny, and knew the menu inside out. Additionally, everyone else we interacted with was friendly and professional. Highly recommended!

Our waitress Janet was really great. The staff made sure our drinks were always full and checked on us a lot during our meal. So appreciative of the great service.

Unfortunately my boyfriend and I did not share the same impeccable service mentioned in other reviews when we dined here. I made us an 8:30 pm reservation. Upon being seated, we were not greeted by a server for 10+ minutes. It took 30 minutes just to get our drinks. The food was delicious (3 course meal) but it doesn t make up for the slow service we received. We truly felt as if we were a forgotten table the entire evening. It s too bad we had a poor experience overall, as we were really looking forward to our date night at Giorg, especially because of the many roaring reviews found on here.

Wow! What a great dining experience! The service was over the top. What a great bunch of people - all were smiling, attentive, friendly. Very nice atmosphere, obviously-pleased patrons and tasty food with nice portions. After an appetizer, perfectly toasted dipping bread, and a shared salad, we were able to take home some pasta leftovers (which is rare for us.) Great wine selection and helpful recommendations. As first-time visitors to Thunder Bay, we drove by a lot of restaurants before choosing this one. It just felt right, and it was wonderful from the moment we stepped in the door. A lovely dinner to celebrate our anniversary - if we return to the area, we will eat here again.

Our dinner experience was fantastic. The food was excellent and the service was absolutely exemplary. It was hands down the best service I have ever experienced. Our server and the other restaurant staff were attentive, made great recommendations, and were lovely to chat with. We had an appetizer, salad, pasta entrees, and lemon cake and each was more delicious than the last.

I cant tell you enough how great this restaurant is. Youre welcomed by staff who want to take your coat in this cozy, romantic atmosphere. You are seated with the wide profile wine menu with many by the glass, half litre, bottle selections. The staff are well trained in the varietals and can guide you through your preferences. The food menu is not too big/small. It also doesnt veer far from traditional Italian. The server kept his eye on us the entire time without being in our face. The attention to details and service from this server was unprecedented in Thunder Bay. Each menu item nailed the style with some elevation. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or special occasion.

Went there for a cooking class at 6 pm. The staff were friendly, engaging and responsive to everyone. However, the class provided no hors deoeuvres until 730pm (which was not too bad). However, from 730 until 10:07 there was no other food served. When the dinner did come, the food was marginal at best (especially for $200 + price point) the timing of the food was off, some of the food was not hot and then dinner wrapped up at 1030pm. I wouldnt recommend attending one of these classes

Absoluting amazing food. Service is impeccable, the servers seem to really enjoy their job and take pride in it.

Dined out with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Very good service, food and atmosphere. We started with a charcuterie plate to share followed by salads and delicious pasta dishes. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Sadly we had no room for dessert. Menu is different than on web site.

Recently, I have been reviewing and posting about places I have visited from time to time, and I have also received some positive feedback from Google. I feel that I have helped others, and I am very happy! So I thought about recording the places I have been to before, especially our family s self-driving journey experience across Canada from August to November 2021, hoping to help friends in need! Let s start with the place that impressed me the most today. We went to this Italian restaurant when we visited Thunder Bay in late October last year. The appearance of the restaurant is very low-key. We walked around the door twice without knowing it. Later, we saw a few people pushing open the door next to us and entering, and then we realized that the restaurant was right next to us. Due to the epidemic, the tables in the restaurant are widely spaced, making them appear extra spacious. The waiters are very enthusiastic, friendly and professional. The shape, color and taste of the dishes are quite good. The waiter even proudly said that the tomatoes are local and they are really delicious. Their cocktails were also very good and I drank one after another.

Excellent food and service!

Friday night I had the pleasure of celebrating my 30th birthday at Giorg. We had a reservation for about 30 people. Staff was amazing, atmosphere was perfect and the food WOW! I had Selected a prefixed menu and I will be dreaming of that pasta for weeks, so tasty!!!! Everything was perfect. Thank you to all the great staff that worked that night.

Great staff dinner with the sharing/family menu. There was way too much food, which they kindly packed up for us to take home. This is my favourite restaurant in town for good reason!

Awesome restaurant experience with delicious and fantastic Italian dishes. Our server, Trevor, was absolutely amazing and helped to space out/organize our dining experience perfectly. We ordered the arancini to start followed by the blood orange salad. Both were unreal! For our mains we ordered the Dry-aged bistecca and the Fettucinne alla Giorg. Truly unbelievable. We finished with a chocolate Budino and pistachio/dark chocolate cannolis. The experience was by far the most upscale and fine dining in Thunder Bay by far. The food and service were truly awe-inspiring - thank you Trevor and la squadra di cucina

Id love to go back to this restaurant next time we visit family in Thunder Bay. - Fettuccine alla Giorg (small size) $21 - Caesar alla Giorg (small size) $8 *This combination was perfect amount of portion for me!

We were looking for a new experience in Thunder Bay. Research brought us to this fabulous Italian restaurant. The restaurant was quiet enough to carry on wonderful conversations. We were not rushed and our waitrer went.out of his way to explain the different dishes. Over 3 hours we enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine sharing the soup of the day and the gorgonzola salad, veal steak and a rabbit pasta dish. Each was a unique savory flavour. Some of the best Italian food I have eaten in my entire life (and I have been to Italy several times for long periods)! Staff was awesome, super friendly and really helpful!

Always outstanding, everything Ive ever had here has been amazing. Even their cesar salad is amazing. My favorite dish is the Bolognese, they make all their pastas fresh and WOW it makes such a difference. They once had a parmesean soup as the daily - parm rind broth, with the little ball noodles, topped with dry grated parm and pepper - it was the most simple yet most delicious soup Ive ever had. Also, this is probably the only italian restaurant Ive ever been to where Ive never had a waitstaff correct my pronunciation of italian foods and wines, which can really affect your overall experience.

What excellent food and service!

My boyfriend Buddy and I were out for a nice meal to celebrate him starting cabinet making school. Our waiter Brad made sure the evening was perfect, removing every single crumb we dropped on the table.

This was my first post Covid dinning experience and I truly enjoyed the rigatoni bolognese dish. Found the neat sauce to be very tasty without adding any heat to spice it up. I like my food a little on the spicy side but not required for this dish. Excellent cappuccino to top off the meal. Would love to try the other ideas on the menu at another time.

The food is delicious, but what makes this restaurant totally worthwhile is the service. Trevor and Brad are absolute masters at their craft. This restaurant may seem a bit out of the way, but dont let that stop you from enjoying one of the best dining experiences Thunder Bay has to offer.

Giorgs has been a staple in upscale Thunder Bay dining for years. Amazing food, atmosphere, and the staff, who provided what I would consider to be the best service Ive ever had at a restaurant. One word of caution, do not order the calamari unless you want to have it ruined for you. Hands down the greatest calamari Ive ever tried, now calamari from elsewhere just wont be as good now that I know how it should really taste! Once again, amazing servers, chefs and back of house staff, coupled with an ideal atmosphere for anything from nice family dinners, to a classy bite with friends. Not to mention the food is probably some of the best in town. 11/10 for sure!

Very well prepared and tasty food. We had the Ricotta dumplings, Whitefish special, Duck breast and Tiramisu. All were delicious. The marscapone in the tiramisu was a bit too sweet for my taste. The wine by the glass list is small. The cherry sauce on the duck was outstanding! Overall an excellent dining experience - great service and great food. 5 stars for sure.

Amazing experience. Server was so knowledgeable about both the food menu and alcohol menu. He was able to recommend a great wine with our pasta. We went on a Tuesday for half price pasta. We shared the sweet pea pasta and the spaghetti bolognese and it was amazing. High class for sure and we felt important. Every time the server visited we had amazing conversations. A real experience along with an amazing culinary experience. The cooks and the chef performed amazingly. No complaints. Italian food at its finest.

We come here on special occasions only, however this place has some of the best dining in Thunder Bay, the servers are very nice, it is also very cool how you can see the cooking as the kitchen is also with the dining area. The ambiance, service the food is just phenomenal.

Service was 5 star Food was 4 ...I say four as Ive been to many Italian restaurants. How ever the prices match up perfectly with the quality of food. Have bread made just before it gets to the table and cook pasta another 30 to 45 seconds gets you a five.

The hidden gem! Absolutely must visit. High end restaurant in the heart of Thunder Bay. Just behind the Courthouse. Highly recommend the soup of the day. That meal was pure joy!
