Ordered a deluxe pizza that came with virtually no cheese on it but had pineapple. Order was mixed up I am guessing. Was a take out order. Wouldn’t recommend.
Was not what I expected.The lasagna was lacking sauce and spices the Alfredo was more like soup. All in all won’t go back.
Great pizza and even better staff, you have to try the homemade Cesar salad dressing and homemade desserts

Almost $100 for three large pizzas. Out of the group that we fed everyone was disappointed. One pizza was under cooked, the other didn't have many toppings. We were not pleased, which is a shame as we had people recommend it that had a positive experience. It's tucked out of the way a bit and a little dated inside.
Haven't had Mama Alfas since I was in highschool I drove past and I decided to call an order from them again to see if it was still as good as I remembered. Oh man was I not disappointed, tasted just like how I remembered! Great place I don't know why I ever stopped going! Great service, great atmosphere and even better pizza! If you haven't tried them then give them a try. You won't be disappointed! 5 stars!
For $50, you expect a decent pizza, but I will never order from here again. I did like it years ago, but they have changed. I don't know if Mama Alfa is still cooking here. She was pretty old when I worked here a couple of decades ago, so I don't think she's still the cook. There's way too much herb in it. No one here liked this at all. It tasted very herby with a lot of cilantro and oregano. The ground beef was little meatballs. The bacon was maybe a tablespoon of dark brown crumbs. You have to look really hard, but you will see the lunchmeat style "ham" that they use on top of the bologne type pepperoni that they use. The crust was overcooked to burnt in places. One of the pizzas was swimming in sauce (which is disgusting), while the other was ok.
Deluxe pizza was excellent. Quiet little place. You will wait a little longer but fresh ingredients and pizza won't disappoint.
First time is the last time. Pizza wasnt ready and basically think they forgot mine. Waited way too long. Ordered the Gourmet and not very good. Was told it was good food....off night l guess. Not going back.
the pizza is really greasy and will be the first and last time do not recommend for picky eaters, horrible.

Now also houses Seattle Coffee House, so great Coffee, great local and original pizza in a friendly, comfortable environment.

Id sooner lick a truck stop toilet seat, than eat any of the food this place offers. Youd likely get a warmer welcome from the Sentinelese than you would from the owners of this place. Do yourself a favour, save a ton of money, and get a frozen pizza, heck, eat it frozen, and itll still taste better than here.

Ordered 6 extra large pizzas several weeks ago for a party....they we very good.....ordered 1 extra large deluxe last week...the crust was like a McCormicks soda cracker...extremely thin ...very dark brown...crunchy..overbaked crust....sauce was very spicy as well...phoned in order....asked if could substitute the pineapple with cheese,,,$23.99 quoted)..the employee said no charge ,,no problem substituting ...picked up this pizza..this employee said no subsitutions are allowed and charged $27.99.........too bad..I thought we had found a new great pizza place....will not go back...they are not consistent.....would like to support this local business...but like other restaurants in T BAy...no consistancy....

tried to order off the website. link goes to Skip the Dishes. Skip the Dishes has no idea who Mama Alfa is. phone in my order, according to the menu on line. wanted a Calzone. was told they dont have them anymore and that the menu online is old and to use the one on Facebook. went to the one on Facebook, and it is dated Feb 2018. you mean they cant update their website after 3 years? ordered two panzerotti. went to pick up the order, as per a previous post, none of the people behind the counter was wearing a mask. got the order home, panzerotti was undercooked. sauce was straight-from-the-fridge cold. Caesar salad, the lettuce was all wilty and limp. wont be back.
Consistently great tasting pizza! Highly recommend the Greek Pizza.
If you want panzerotti look no further. Even though you may see a single offering on the menu you can have whatever you want in it. Cook is very personable.

You close to early, and every time I call you have no driver to deliver, we have been customers for as long as you have been open, miss MoMA alpha and Ralph, they were the best!
food was pretty good, not sure about the price, as I was not allowed to pay for dinner. But still pretty good food, not cheap with the toppings either
I really enjoy the pizza here, it s a true Italian pizzeria. Want to try some other dishes. It s literally the farthest pizza joint from us (Paquette Rd to here and back takes about an hour) but we make the trip for the za. The sauce could be a bit less sweet though in my opinion, but the rest is excellent.

Mama Alfas has one of my favourite pizzas and Caesar salad which is unfortunate as I will not be ordering from them going forward. The sanitary conditions I witnessed when I went to pick up my order was really disgusting. Of the three people working, only one was wearing a mask which was slightly covering his mouth but not his nose as he was making pizzas without gloves. The woman and young girl working were NOT wearing masks (they didnt even have any on them) as they moved around the kitchen and taking orders from people on the phone and in store. There is only a small amount of plexiglass separating the customer and the kitchen which means nothing without masks on. So please keep that in mind if you are ordering from here in the future during the pandemic - it doesnt seem like the people working here care much about the sanitary and safe conditions during this time.

if only i could give more than 5 stars. hands down, BEST, pizza Ive ever had. Big portions, fresh, authentic, delicious, inexpensive.
The pizza and Italian salad was excellent. The peanut butter pie was so good I took a second piece home for a midnight snack!!!!!

What a joke! Not too friendly customer service. Pizza ok but pasta needs to be ordered in advance or it will take 1 hour. The pasta always available on the other hand will take only 60 minutes!

We ordered delivery and the owner himself brought the pizza. Not only was he extremely friendly, but this was the best pizza I ve ever had. The sauce is amazing! Perfect cheese and giant pepperoni. Garlic bread was also insanely good! It was worth waiting a little longer for fresh, everything obviously homemade and top quality!

A really nice, quaint mom and pop style Italian restaurant, they offer great pizza and if you call ahead by a day theyll make you fresh homemade pasta too! If youre here, you need to get the Caesar salad, its the best way to start off a meal!

Pizza Calzone was everything but a pizza calzone. We waited 50 minutes. Prices way to high. Unfriendly.

I just went to the Halloween dinner dinner theatre. A person needs to bring for their appetite. Mamas make sure to put on a spectacular meal, italien style. Plenty of courses. Tantalizing to the taste buds. Homemade desert and an aperitif. Wow what a feast. The decor was spooky the entertainment first rate. What a treat. Thank you to all the staff for a great evening out.
If I could give it more than five stars, I would. The food is fresh, so tasty and the Caesar salad is divine. Their pizza is the best Ive had anywhere and I just cant say enough.

Best pizza place around! Mama herself came out with our appetizer (fried ravioli) and chatted with us for a while (were from the twin cities in Minnesota) and was very active in making sure our experience was fantastic. It was my first time in thunder bay, and I will remember this place if I ever come back!!! The menu was fantastic and authentic Italian, just wait till you see mama, the cutest Italian lady whos cuisine clearly originated in Italy! Go here! Dont think about it, just do it and you wont regret it
Best Caesar salad, worth a visit alone.
Each time I visit Thunder Bay, Mama Alfas is always first on my list of places to eat. Cannot decide which is better the food or hospitality. Where else do you get met with such a warm welcome.
A good place, but slow service... unless youre friends with them or something.
