Amazing food at a greta price. Ive never been disappointed coming here. The salads are well dressed so every bite is a perfect ratio of greens to toppings and dressing. Wonderful staff, clean, cozy, LGBT friendly, quick service and great food.

Best salads always

We always order their Greek goddess cous cous and has been our go to spot for salads. Today was a disappointment as our salads came SWIMMING in dressing with barely any cous cous. There were also several wilted lettuce leaves which I had to pick out. I felt like a just drank a whole bottle of dressing. We were disappointed and will think twice about ordering from this place ever again.

Place is too small for who wana sit n eat. Very cramped. Food was good however the price for an avocado sandwich was way over priced its a place to go and then say yep went there had that then save 4 months to go back.. Food

The food is often ready faster then I expect. It s always top quality and highly nutritious. Very enjoyable place to order pickup food. Mindfulness of being environmentally friendly is a high priority for this restaurant as well. Good job

Ordered a build your own salad and venus rice bowl. The rice bowl was great but the build your own salad was literally missing the salad there was 0 field greens, and the celery was not cut up.

I ordered a Chipotle unwrap with chicken. It was so delicious and fresh! I didnt take any photos because I gobbled it all up but the salad was so good.

Great place. Love to eat here anytime I visit Thunderbay. They use local fresh ingredients to create unique tasting salads and dishes. My favourite item is the chipotle unwrap and it is a great value as it fills you up. Also love going to their sister restaurant Rebel Salad.

Fresh food...great flavors!

Normally I would give this place a 5 star because Ive been coming since they opened and its my kiddos favourite place for takeout. I never have a problem when I dine in, food portions and everything are always consistant, but the last 3 times now my takeout orders have been much smaller, I got a venus rice bowl, and the season sandwich had no dressing on the salad twice. Its making it an untrustworthy place to order takeout from which breaks my heart

Such YUMMY and huge salads!! I wanted something fresh after so much fried food roadside, and this place really exceeded my hopes

The best healthy cafe

Good to see that there are also healthy places to eat in Thunder Bay. The seating area outside could be a bit nicer.

The food is great, but what s even better is the people! When a guy who was clearly struggling walked in, they had a friendly chat with him then offered him some food on the house. When I offered to pay for a beverage for him - to go with his meal, they told him he could have a beverage along with his meal and it would also be on the house. It s amazing how the humanly decent the people who work there are. Shoutout to one of the workers there, Andrei! He was a ball of sunshine.

Great lunch visit! Came in today in the early afternoon, which was apparently right near the beginning of the Saturday afternoon rush! The phone was ringing off the hook while the staff took orders at the front counter, servicing a lineup that extended out the door. The staff were clearly swamped in all aspects of the business but they handled themselves like seasoned hospitality. The staff were friendly and their demeanor belied the fact that they were very nearly in the weeds for service. We found the outdoor seating behind the building and enjoyed the scenery and our drinks while we waited. The portion sizing of our dishes was markedly more than expected and everything was tasty! We were pleasantly suprised at the value and quality of everything - perhaps we shouldnt have been! The interior/exterior of the business immediately puts you at ease and give you lots to look at. The feeling is rustic and comfortable. Thank you for the wonderful visit today. We will recommend you highly and will stop in everytime we come through town. Staff: Keep up the great work. It can be a vexing job at times. p.s. To the staff member that slipped going up the back stairs and banged her shin (really hard): Bravo for putting on a brave face infront of everyone. Make sure you ice that tonight.

It was really good. I got the Harvest Salad and it was super delicious with yummy toppings (it s supposed to be cranberry but i swapped for sesame snaps), however there was a little too much sauce so the salad was kind of overwhelming. It was super filling, but a little pricier (~$15 after tax)

Good is always pretty good. But the slowest service ever. Even when ordering ahead wait times are upwards of 15 minutes from when told food would be ready.

Really it is the best take out in Thunder Bay, so delicious. Online ordering system is quite good. Staff are a fabulous assortment of cool personalities. Its an essential part of Thunder Bay. Essential salad. And you can buy the pesto and the dressings in jars too so you can enjoy at home (and pour half a jar of chipotle dressing on your greens )

Super tasty food and friendly service inside a cozy space! Would highly recommend and Ill visit next time I am in town. :)

Rebel salad, Bonobos and The Growing Season have the tastiest vegan and vegetarian food in the city, hands down.

The food here is nothing less than amazing. Healthy and yummy, inexpensive. I wish I stayed longer in TB to try all of their dishes.

Food was great - if more drinks were offered, Id bump the rating up to a 5. My one recommendation is to implement customer facing compost. All of my waste was compostable (including the food container) and it would be really easy to implement.

The season sandwich with added chicken breast and the chipotle chicken tasted great! They were also healthy and of a good portion size. Everything felt good quality.

We got the chipotle unwrap - delicious! And HUGE portion - very impressed with the amount of shredded chicken. Ordering online process was seamless. Only downfall was they only provide wooden chopsticks as cutlery!! No disposable cutlery. You can buy a reusable cutlery set for $5. That s fine, I get it, save the planet . But we re driving across the country and eating a green salad with chopsticks while driving the trans Canada highway was not an enjoyable experience . It took a great amount of convincing to get my husband to stop here rather than the usual Tim Hortons and this didn t help with his distaste for health/planet conscious eateries. We would have appreciated a heads up - a bring your own cutlery note on the website when we placed our order would have been enough.

The rice bowl is phenomenal and the staff are kind and helpful. Definitely recommend!

The food here was absolutely amazing!!! I was in Thunder Bay for a work trip and my co-workers and I went to The Growing Season every day to try a variety of their menu items! They did not disappoint! My favourite was The living salad.

All I can say is Yum! I ordered the Venus Rice bowl, it was so filling I couldnt finish. I took the rest home and ate it later. So so good! The restaurant itself is small and cozy, when we went it was really busy in there at the time, our food didnt take long though.

Intimate, funky, friendly, with excellent vegetarian dishes

We often order food from here but one time we thought of eating there only and we felt little partiality may be bcoz we were Asian. They gave food everyone who came later then us and didnt ask for our name as well. Otherwise food is great.

I feel 100% confident recommending this restaurant. The prices are amazing, the people are always sweet and welcoming, the food is always delicious, and the portions are filling! Their hummus is the best Ive had! My usual order is the tofu chipotle unwrapped and I would definitely recommend, their tofu is the best Ive tried and they have really good naan bread. Great atmosphere too, I love that they hang the artwork of different local artists each week. They are also super inclusive and always have a large pride flag hanging in the window. You can eat in or dine out and I would definitely recommend the strawberry fields smoothie!

Great little funky place to eat at. You can eat in or takeout. I had the season sandwich and it was really good. So the ingredients were fresh and they use lots of local sourced foods. The atmosphere is cool, lots of art, and it is nice and chilled environment. I will go back.

SO GOOD. I used to eat there back in 2010. I moved away for 9 years and just moved back to TBay last week. I was ecstatic to see that The Growing Season is still there. I just ordered two take-out meals (Garden Grill and my 2010 favourite, Chipotle Chicken unwrap) intending to have a meal for work tomorrow, but they were so delicious that I ate both (oops). Im pleasantly surprised that this local place has far outdone any of the amazing British Columbia organic cuisine that Ive been eating for years. Seriously good food!!

Fantastic fresh juiced and delicious salads

Small place in the center of Thunder Bay where you can both take away and eat at one of the very few tables available. It offers a wide choice of wraps (piadine) and vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Almost the entire menu is also available gluten free. There are also many smoothies.. there are some for all tastes even if not much to my liking. If you can, make a reservation, because at certain times it is very crowded.

Tried the growing company while visiting thunder bay. Will definitely be making this place a regular visit while I am come for work trips. The salad I had was the Greek goddess. The dressing is made in store and fantastic. The cous-cous is a interesting twist to a common Greek. I really liked it. Only thing Id add is that I hate cilantro and no where on the menu does it say the salad has it in there !! I would have asked for it without. But still giving them 5 stars because the atmosphere and staff made up for the little error.

The Living Salad was unreal. Changed out the dressing to their Tahini to make it vegan. Best tahini dressing I ve had. Husband had the Venus Bowl and raved about it. So good. Cosy vibe and delicious food.
