Never been here before. It was great for the first experience. Perfect place for professional Christmas Dinners. Staff was friendly. Had a great time here.
The best beefsteak I’ve ever tried. We ordered hot stone beefsteak and it kept the beef warm and juicy. Fresh and clean oyster, house special burger and salad were amazing. The server and bartender were knowledgeable and friendly, we didn't know which cocktail should we try and he gave us few options that matched our favorite and we absolutely loved them. Nothing to complain about!!
Went on a Saturday, 4pm. Asked for a table, but told all tables had been reserved. Made sure no tables available because I wasn't sure I'd fit in the booth. Answer still no, full house tonight. Finished and left at 5pm, only one other couple seated..in a booth. Food was OK..had the prime rib and it definitely needed more seasoning. Might try again, the place has potential.
I was never so disappointed with my food. My wie n I both ordered the prime rib my wife small 6oz and I asked for the large 16oz it tasted great but I'm pretty sure the chef has no idea what size he was cutting. My wife's was so small it looked like a slice of bologna and mine was no thicker than 1/2" maybe 8oz. I have spent alot of time buying and cooking meat so I'm sure on the size it should be. After thought I should have taken pictures . I never like to complain so we didnt show our displeasure but I can assure you We will not be back . We come to thunderbay quite often and have never been disappointed with the prospector or the keg.
Don't let the exterior fool you! The interior is upscale and the food is great! Was there while on work trip so sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and social.
Really enjoyed our time here, food was excellent the steak was cooked exactly as requested. Atmosphere was spot on, perfect for date night. Service was good. Would recommend!
Nice atmosphere but not a fan of the on the rock menu feature. Also our server never told us about it when were ordering but luckily one of our friends asked or we would of never known. Maybe try again but the normal menu as we hoped the steaks would of been at least grilled a bit on a regular grill for better flavour. Desserts are not worth it at all. Cheesecakes very small and the creme Brule crust was too thick making the sugar almost chewy.
Omg. Where do I even start? We ordered a lot of food. The portions were great and the service was so fantastic. The food was so DELICIOUS. From starters to mains to dessert. Everything was so great! We went into a food coma after eating and it was so worth it! We will DEFINITELY be visiting again. This was the first time we had all visited and we all had foodgasms because everything was just so delicious and well presented. Very very wonderful experience and I am really happy the whole thing was also affordable and well worth every single cent!

The plants in front of lot 88 restaurant has to be taken down. It s hard for drivers passing by to see the cars passing through. Below is one of the few accidents i see everyday
Well i had to try, but i can now confirm that steak cooked on a hot stone suckssssss...... no delicious bbq favors.. tasted boiled

My partner and I went a couple months ago and I had the best fillet mignon ! It was on the stone and so dang tender it almost melted in my mouth! I ve been craving it ever since, so returning this evening hopefully! It s a must try in the venue of restaurants in Thunder Bay! There is even a little fire place at the booth tables. Great for date night.
Big shout out to the owner! I made a reservation on the wrong day and I dont get date night very often. The owner took the time to squeeze us in even though they were fully booked. The food and service is top notch! Thank you
Had a wonderful experience as a first-time customer. Prime rib was awsome. Cooked to perfection melt in your mouth. Had the escargo app. The reason for the four stars and not five is 2 fold. The food was not hot enough for me. The temperature was luke warm and the mushrooms were actually cold. Also, the escargot needed more cheese and more spice. We were a party of 5 and we all enjoyed our dinners. We had a reservation and were seated at a long table. While we were waiting for our dinners to come a booth was emptied and we asked to relocate to the booth. They moved us right away taking our drinks to the booth for us. Our server was very helpful although she did not get our full order as 2 of us added a lobster tail which did not come with our prime rib. She immediately put in the order and it came as we were finishing our prime rib. The entries were all served at the same mine. She offered us a free dessert as an apology which we took to go. She kept our water glasses full and our drinks refilled. All in all, we will be back Just loved the menu variety. Will have to try the lobster bisque. Will ask them next time to watch the temperature of the food.

bailey is a very rude server, wont check on you and i wouldnt recommend ever going when she is there unfortunately

Fantastic prime rib, terrific service, great atmosphere.
I have been here a few times with different groups. The hot stone to cook your steak on it is a neat concept. It does allow you to cook your steak the way you like it, and the cuts of meat are reasonable quality for the price. Other items on the menu are tasty as well. I had the prime rib this time, and it was excellent. Service was extremely poor on this particular visit, but it has not been in the past, so it was likely due to how busy it was.
Went with a party of 4. We all enjoyed our meals. My prime rib was exceptionally good and really enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Great service, will be back Cheers Food
One of my favorite dining experiences. The ribeye on the stone is a signature dish. Generous pours from the bar. Friendly service, just a top notch dining experience.

We were all very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant no one in our party of 8 had ever been here before. The staff were amazing and the food was top notch. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. We will go back. Excellent food. Parking: Great parking behind the restaurant.

Amazing food. Attentive and courteous wait staff. 100% will be returning. Needs better teapots tho :-D (and I need to learn to pour without spilling) Vegetarian options: Beyond beef patties available and a few dishes are vegetarian. GF options also exist here
Amazing food and even better service. Had a great waiter in the lounge side that was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. The food was amazing and the wait staff brought out all our food at once and explained the hot stone cooking experience. Everything about the meal was wonderful. It was our first visit (and spontaneous, since our reservation elsewhere fell through), but it definitely wont be out last. Thank you for a wonderful night out!

Was looking for somewhere we didnt need a reservation and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was and how good the service was! Would recommend and will be back!
My chicken parm was good. Wifes steak was under what she asked for. They offered to fix and gave free dessert for that. Service was pretty slow and they were not busy.

I was offered to sit at the bar instead of a table, and the restaurant was almost empty. I wish I have the opportunity to decide.
Relaxing comfortable enjoyable cozy ambience. Food delish, lots of choice in pritein, vegies etc. Table privacy, conversing, great space for visiting with your dinner mates. Staff werent constantly at your table, the service was a great balance of checking in, and assessing our when they didnt need to. We will definitely be back. I looked around at other tables, smiles and comfort everywhere. Nit packed in tight, lots of space surrounding each table, booth. Highly recommend this restaurant. I wish I had pics! I rarely eat out and had heard good things about this place particularly the stone cooking. So I had it 2 weekends in a row. The food was lovely, the service was attentive but not overwhelming. Great time both visits. Prepare to drop a couple hundred dollars if you go all out with apps, and a few drinks. But you can keep it more moderate too, theres something for everyone on the menu. Worth the splurge for us given we dont do it often.

Always great food when we come here. Unlike other steak house in town, steak is always cooked the way ordered and in a timely fashion. Sometimes if I am lucky, I get the drunken mussels they used to serve in Tony and Adams..so good. Service sometimes slow but it happens. Food always comes out hot and my Dad always leaves full.
Our go to place for a great steak dinner. The steak on a stone is definitely the best in town. Always great for and awsome/fun servers. I would highly recommend this place for your next dinner out. The home made pasta dishes are also top notch

Highly recommend Lot 88! Dakota, our server was attentive and ensured we were well taken care of. We all ordered steaks on the stone. Novel idea and very tasty. Oysters on the shell, lobster bisque and lobster and artichoke dip for starters were a hit. Definitely will be a return customer!

We had a hiccup after we were seated, the servers all thought we had been served so there was a delay getting drinks and our orders taken... But that is okay because the food was amazing. I loved the concept and wished I had something similar where I live.
Food was good. Place was busy. Waitress forgot my rum and coke. Had to remind her after 30 minutes. Someone in our group got charged for a beverage when they didnt even order one.
Our server Bianca was a gem: professional and patient! Our meals however were unfortunate: salmon was so over cooked it was dry, steak was ordered medium-rare and arrived well/done, prime rib was ordered medium-rare and arrived very rare. lamb was cooked on the stone and good. The vegetables were cooked perfectly although they had no seasoning, or so little seasoning it could not be tasted. Management took care of the poorly-cooked meals and we appreciated the way they handled our issue. The wine list is small but the selection is good and the 9oz glasses are reasonably priced, however based on our experience with the food, I would not return. I found the menu dated and the preparation of our mains was not acceptable for a steakhouse.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner there. Staff very friendly accommodating and informative. The lava rock option is a great choice and good gluten-wise choices.
Great food great ambiance amazing service
The lava stone experience was really cool but I expected my steak to have some sort of butter option to cook it with. My stone was also noticeably cooler than my gf and by the end it was slow to cook my steak while hers was still sizzling with her lamb. Overall, i enjoyed it

Great steak. Served on a hot stone so it cooks as you eat it. Neat idea. Decent service. Parking can be tight, but theres spots on the side streets. Good spot for special occasions.
Was ok. Few little issues. But but we went the first night so little bumps are to be expected.
