The food is delicious. The service is pleasant and attentive. I'd love to try more selections. The chicken quesadillas were fantastic.
The largest disappointment was the food. Out of 5 people in our party only 1 person was able to finish their dinner. Everyone else found the quality so poor they could not even finish. The person who did finish admitted the quality was poor but it was technically edible, so they ate it.
Not worth it. The food was meh, they brought the wrong drinks, the steak was over cooked and their Poutine was lackluster.
I love this restaurant for its quiet atmosphere and excellent service. The menu is not exciting, but the tables are spaced far apart to allow for privacy in conversation. We are never rushed, and the view of the Harbour is lovely.
Stay away! There is a reason this place is empty on a Friday night! First, they had no steak, even though they are a steak and seafood restaurant. The service was terrible! The server had no idea what he was doing and a simple meal took forever! The food we finally got was not worth the money. Next, they have a full bar but only serve basic American beer like bud and Miller and offer one red wine that tastes like grape juice. Last, they cannot make a kiddie cocktail (aka Shirley Temple). We will never return to this restaurant!
I ordered meatball pasta and garlic bread. The food was good, but nothing special or amazing. But I like the interior design and decoration of the dinning space. The staffs were doing their jobs very efficiently, I met a waitress called Helen, she was so friendly and helpful, that night she was not busy so I had a nice chat with her and another customer. It was a great dining experience and I revisited this restaurant on next day noon, although the food can still be improved a little bit more.
Food was fine and well cooked but nothing special and seemed mediocre in terms of quality of ingredients (Eggs, potatoes, sausage and French toast). Coffee was weak and nearly water. The restaurant needs a major cleaning. The chairs are cool and fit the ambiance of the old hotel but the cloth arms are super gross. Our waitress was the best part- very friendly, warm, attentive and kind.
The decor is old and very non-eventful. The food is, however, very good. Service is great and friendly.

So happy to be back at Portside for breakfast . Had our wonderful server ,Randy who brought us up to date on the past two years :) Beautiful breakfast . Great place for breakfast.
Our waitress, Michelle, was a gem. The prices are a little steep but the food is good.

Good food and some of the best serving staff in town! Always clean and I love the old furniture.
Worst experience! Took 20 minutes to get coffee!! I ordered a clubhouse with no lettuce and no tomato... I am allergic to tomatos. When I received it, it was warm at best and upon picking up the second piece of sandwhich there was tomato pieces and seeds under it. Called the waitress over and told her she remade the sandwhich, which I said I would not eat and let her know it could have killed me. No apology, no manager came over, no chef... they did take it off the bill though. I will never go back!!
Our server was prompt with service and we were met with warmth and smiles. Food was hot and delicious. Wonderful child friendly atmosphere. Our baby enjoyed the interaction with our server and loved the food.

Aside from the very noisy drilling and hammering coming from upstairs the $5.99 breakfast was outstanding! Great service too actually.
Prime rib here is very very very tasty.
Best Philly Cheese Steak this side of Philadelphia! If youre in Thunder Bay I would highly recommend going just for the food, even if youre not staying at the Prince Arthur.

Went down for breakfast, they had a nice layout for a continental breakfast however the danishes were refreshed it was stale. None of the tables were cleared, they all had plates and cups from previous guests. Milk was in a craft at the station for cereal and empty. Ordered their discounted breakfast for guests. Waited for almost an hour and then asked about my food and was handed my order that was put in a to go container and sitting on the bar for who knows how long. I was told she asked everyone and laughed as she realized she didn t ask the actual person who ordered it. I had to ask for a new order. I will not eat here again!
The food took forever to be served. Steaks were ordered rare an med but came well done. Chicken was so over cooked that a steak knife could not cut it. The waitress was the only good thing about the evening!
I love going to Portside for breakfast. Staff always makes you feel like family.

Wonderful lunch with the ACW from St. Michaels. The food was delicious. Table was nicely set, coffee carafes on the table, jugs with ice water as well. The staff was great. One waitress took all the orders and then other people helped bring out meals as there were 22 people in the room. We had reserved the room at the end of the restaurant. Not sure if it has a name or not.
We have our staff Christmas party here every year. Great food and awesome service. Highly recommended.

Overpriced greasy, low effort breakfasts. Coffee is terrible if you like yours with flavour and body. They used to have a decent brunch buffet but not anymore. Some ambiance, but it still felt crowded and claustrophobic as tables are too close together.

My girlfriend and I both got sick after eating there. The food gave us the runs. They also forget to put everything in their food. They like to use the dark parts of lettuce as well. Whoever is managing the kitchen is doing an awful job

Very racist to natives who travel hours to stay there for medical. To be treated so segregated. Sad
A predatory system where a hotel provides a breakfast voucher to lure you in, then offers you some peices of fruit and cereal, or you can drop cash on a mediocre plate. I wouldnt advise ever going here if youre not already staying in the attached hotel.

Went for the prime rib buffet. Took visitors from out of town. We were all expressed. Everything including the dessert was perfect. We will be going back.
Went for breakfast , ordered from menu and was given toast , bacon , and pancakes from the Buffett so pancakes and toast were dry and hard , and the bacon was very cold and hard . I ordered from menu hoping it would be made fresh and got old dried out stuff . Wife and I wil not be back Ps . The one star I gave is a courtesy star
