Golden Dragon Restaurant in Timmins

Most of the food was cold and hard, or just freezer burnt. It was pretty expensive for just a few people and I say it wasnt worth it.

Really not good at all

Do not go eat there, food is so greasy and its cold, chiken balls are just balls of doe, all the beef is like beef jerky, and trust me, you will go to the bathroom during that nigth.

Terrible food. I ordered dinner for 2 the beef was slimy and undercooked, the chicken fried rice seemed old, the chicken balls were greasy. This is the first and last time i will order from the restaurant.

I love going in to eat and ordering home delivery. Always satisfied with the food and service. Highly reccomend.

Wait 45 minutes to be told that they dont have the menu item I ordered 45 minutes prior and then I should pay additional for a substitute protein. Well, the food may taste okay but the service is absolute garbage. The price isnt good, the package isnt good, it tastes good but will never return to this place even if you pay me to come here. DONT GET LOO MEIN. ITS MR. NOODLES. UNDERCOOKED MR NOODLES. DISGUSTING.

When for the buffet today and was super disappointed by how much it s declined since it s apparent new ownership. More than half the trays were empty and when they were replenished they only added a small amount instead of filling them. The food wasn t fresh either all the deep fried options (chicken balls, wontons, spring rolls, onion rings etc.) were stale, cold, and hard as a rock like they d been sitting out all day. The other dishes seemed like they d been refried or something. The building itself is looking really run down and shabby inside now too. Also, I noticed the girls at the back making the wontons right in front of the bathrooms and one of the coughed right above them a few times. We were charged $80 for two adults and one kid and the food we were served was nowhere near the quality that would justify such prices.. this place was one of my favourites growing up and I was disappointed to see it run into the ground like this. There was a for sale sign on the door so hopefully the next owners will have some pride of ownership.

Don t waste your time or money. When everyone else on here posted a bad review I thought, well maybe it was a bad day. It most definitely was not. This was by far the worse Chinese food I have ever tasted! The food had been out so long that it was burnt to the pans, rice dried out and burnt tasting, didn t know you could make honey garlic sauce wrong, but I do now. Didn t even have a honey garlic taste at all! The ice cream has been sitting so long that you can t scoop it, it s freezer burnt and was two pieces of cake for dessert! Will never return and will ensure everyone I know doesn t either!!

Ordered chicken fried rice and hot and sour soup, worse experience of eating chinese food , I had to find where is chicken in rice . The rice was smelling like cooked with used oil. The hot and sour soup was like boiled water and egg together

STOP! Trust the reviews! I ordered the S&S chicken balls and pork fried rice I have eaten a few bad meals in my day but this has to be the worse ever the balls were hard and dry and rice bland and mushy its like leftovers refried I called and complained and at first he tried to say different but then had my meal resent OMG! If he didnt send the same hard rock dried balls and the rice looked the same. I didnt even bother in the trash it went either they dont know what good food is or buffet food recooked in dirty grease they should be shut down. My stupidity should have trusted reviews and ordered pizza!! I want my money back!!

DO NOT order from these asshats. We called 15 mins to close and ordered a few dishes. When it got here you could smell it. Opening the dishes the food looked great but the peppers were burned black and that taste and smell was in everything! Every bite tasted burned and bottom of the pot burnt. He began to yell and scream and proceeded to hang up on me twice, calling me names and telling me I was a liar. All I asked was that our meal be replaced. Wasn t mad just wanted our food , we even kept the food to send back so they could see. He was so unprofessional and hung up on me again. To have his other worker answer and forced her to hang up on me. Imagine if there were people in his restaurant at that time and heard him talk to me this way. Limited parking out front. Extensive menu options. Our choices did not disappoint. Buffet, only on weekends. Not busy at all when we visited, yet service staff not attentive. Playing on her phone and out of tune with the few guests she had. Food

We placed an order and we didn t receive our sweet and sour sauce or our chicken wings. They told me they will send it next time I order. Never order from there again.

Omg where to start. Ok so I thought I would try something different from our regular Chinese Restaurant. Mistake. Then I ordered Diner for 2. Mistake. Diner was warm at best. I dunno if we were eating almond chicken or almond Pigeon.Stringy weird taste. I don t want to know what it was but it wasn t chicken. Mistake. Then came the rice. Beef apparently . The chicken balls and wonton were hard like a rock. I can go on but never again. I won t even go into cleanliness details but I ll give that -10. It s for sale. I get it.

Cantonese chow mein was the worst Ive ever had. Reminded me of a frozen dinner you pop in the microwave. Noodles were soggy and slimy and chunky. Shrimp tasted bad and all the vegetables had an off taste. Definitely a waste of $30. I usually order London cafe and its amazing. I chose to try Golden Dragon because it was the only option on skip the dishes. I very much regret it, in the future I will be going back to calling London cafe

$28.50 per person the buffet! Mostly fish/seafood okay if you dont have allergies. But also...many items labeled didnt match what was under label, some not even labeled at all! And they charge $6.00 extra if you dont eat everything on your plate to curb food waste. Fine but for $28.50 each person have a better selection!! This place used to be a premium restaurant. Now a cheap knock off of better days gone by.

My partner and I recently enjoyed the all you can eat brunch buffet. It was delicious and staff was nice and very courteous. Will definitely try the all you can eat supper buffet real soon.

Kind service was nice. We had the buffet. I enjoyed all of the dishes I tried, especially the General Tso Chicken and deep fried wontons. The restrooms are large and very clean.

NEVER AGAIN! This was one of the most disapointing meals I have ever had. Ordered a Dinner for 2 with Wanton Soup. Took over an hour to deliver this disaster! Everything was BLAND. THE wanton soup looked like dirty toilet water with wilted cabbage, and who put freaking upon noodles in there wanton soup? The beef fried rice was over done and flavorless, the chicken and vegetables with almost was almost slimy! The egg rolls and chicken balls were greasy and tasted of burnt oil telling me they were cooking with very old oil. Will never order from here again!

Excellent personalized service

Mothers Day. You had to know you would be busy - very busy. When your staff give you a specific pick up time and only after showing up after waiting an ADDITIONAL 90 minutes and the very same staff tell you not once but twice we do not know when your order will be ready that s a problem!!! This long time customer has to ask - why continue supporting your business?

I was pleasantly surprised with our meal and takeout experience at the Golden Dragon. Its my first time ordering from here and it wont be my last. For a start they actually pick up the phone here, you dont have to call 15 times. The wait time is reasonable and was accurate to the minute. No trouble picking up the meal at the restaurant either, I called and they came out immediately with my food. Now for the food: it was very tasty and still hot when I got home. We had egg rolls, chicken fried rice, chicken chop suey, chicken balls, S&S shrimp, Hunan beef and General Tao. Everything was great especially the last three items I listed. I will try more items next time. On top of everything, this place looks clean and maintained unlike some of the other places I ordered from before. My only complaint is that I only got 4 fortune cookies for 8 items. My new favourite Chinese restaurant!

From Burnt Food to Awful Service But don t even think of mentioning that something you ordered was a little on the burnt side, and that was being polite about it! It was terribly burnt, the female owner will take great offence & then get her husband from the back(Cook I m presuming/Male Owner) to come out & together they will try to publicly humiliate you! I Have NEVER Seen Worse Service & Professionalism In my entire life! So bad, I would love to see this place shut down!

Spent $50 through SkipTheDishes (with delivery included) for 2 spring rolls, mix veg, deep fried wontons and sesame chicken. The sesame chicken was the worst chicken dish I have ever had in my entire life. I just tried to give it another chance the day after and I cant eat it. The breading was already soggy when it arrived. Theres rubbery inedible pieces in the chicken. The sauce is brown and consistency is absolutely horrible a d extremely bland. Figured wed give it a shot seeing as we cant go out during these times and it was a huge let down and waste of money. Too bad.

Where do i begin? We ordered a diner for 3 and 1 order of plain egg foo yung. We placed our order online with understanding of 10% discount for first time use of website. Well $65.00 later. The food was terrible, the vegetables had a musty taste, not to mention the food was incredibly greasy. The egg rolls were dripping of grease. The food was so terrible i threw it in the garbage where it belonged. I used to order from the Golden Dragon all the time NEVER AGAIN.

Buffet is alright if you go on certain days. If you go late in the afternoon most of the food is cold and gross if you ask about it they usually ignore you till the food is completely gone after that they will add new stuff. Other better places to go for a buffet.

Well for start , they are usualy quiet welcoming. Buuuut its really a hit or miss here. Its best you here at busy buisness day or RESERVE. Why? Becaude the food gets cold or they dont have much tocchose from if they dont have much people here.

Both the service and food was lacking and theres a pretty steep price for a mediocre buffet at best. It was fairly busy and I got there to eat at around 5pm so cold food should not have been an issue yet, it was. We never got asked for refills on drinks and we were basically left alone up until we paid. Only go to this restaurant if you want a ton of cold fried foods with a random assortment of veggies and carbs otherwise steer clear and slap an avoid sticker on this basic Chinese buffet.

The service here is always friendly. The food is good. There is a decent selection of items (menu or buffet); even for a vegetarian such as myself. This is a good place to go with a group of friends.

Never written a food review because I have better things to do with my time but ..... Just ordered Chicken Chow Mein to go and it is literally the worst I have ever had . Barely any vegetables and I could count the small slivers of chicken with one hand. Sad.

We always get wonderful service. The food is delightful and the prices are nice too. They always remember who we are and they are our favourite restaurant to go to as a family.

Although the food was good, the buffet was limited to just Chinesse food....no salad bar which was disappointing. Not a good option if one has children or someone who wants a good variety

Absolute worst Chinese food I have ever had. Rice was crunchy and cold, egg roll was terrible, wings tasted horrible- the entire buffet was cold. I ate five bites and left. When I complained they said I told you if you need anything else to ask....anything else? I just wanted good food in the first place! The fact that they were serving this garbage speaks volumes! To their credit they did not charge me- but not before asking me for $16.95 first despite my complaints- the manager finally said I could leave without paying...Do yourself a favour- if you are heading out for Chinese food, go for pizza instead!

Only place in town I order from. Tastes good, good value in portion size. Dinner for Two A Serves us four just fine for $20. Wish there were more parking downtown. They have a really cool fishtank.
