About
The Porcupine Dante Club had its humble beginnings in 1938 when it was called The Sons of Italy which was part of Sons of Italy chapters around North America. Once World War II ended and Adolf Hitler had ravaged Europe, many Europeans made their way to Canada for a new start. Italians came to Canada for a better life as they were told that the Canadian streets were paved with gold. In the 1940’s after the war, the Mascioli family, which ran a construction company in Timmins, needed strong bodies to work on its sites and many young Italian men came over. They came here looking for jobs to make money so they could bring their parents or their wives to live in Canada.

The place has a nice mood. I also like how you get the food, by standing up and getting it yourself. The staff here is also nice. The food is nicely done and I say this resturant if i was asked, "if you could keep one resturant in the world, which would it be?" I love italians. Thank you. JJBA reference? For a supposed authentic Italian restaurant, the food quality can only be rated under par. Food is bland. This is comparing to any Italian restaurant down in GTA and Italy for that matter. No tiramisu nor gelato on menu. They should up the game with the flavours, maybe more spice... all in all, could simply be better for an italian restaurant.
This place is and has always been a staple for our family, we've had numerous weddings here and we are never disappointed! The food is always so delicious and cooked to perfection! The venues all have so much room to dace amd have fun! They even have a game room! Awesome service, keep up the amazing work!
We went to the banquet hall for a party. The food was good and the staff was attentive and friendly.

This is my second time visiting Porcupine Dante Club. Although they are more for receptions and events, I have been lucky to be in town when they are open for dining. You have to try their buffet. You get to try a bit of everything. Their cooking is like my Italian mom's cooking. You have to try their food. Loved the service I received from Karen.
The Dante Club is a Timmins Institution. The food and service are excellent. If you have not tried it yet attend their December Christmas Luncheon (buffet). It includes Christmas Turkey and stuffing, etc and all the regular favorites. Offered only Dec 11-12 & 13 at 11:30 to 2:30pm, it is popular and requires reservations. Best Christmas Luncheon in town.

Food hasnt changed, buns were stale but there was salad when there was a lettuce shortage. That gives the extra star

I love the Dante Club. It is always clean, and the staff is friendly. We play darts once a week there, and our group all enjoy the drinks, media resources, and each other!

Always a blast at the PDC. Great venue and place to hold events. Even though my rating is 5 star, I think a couple improvements could be made. 1. Make sure the atm machine is full before an event! Consider having 2 available in case one gives out. 2. Have an option available to speed up the bar! Long lines are not fun for anyone. :) i ll be back!

Excellent food and customer service
Customer service is terrible. I paid 19$ for plain gnochi +0.75c for pesto which is fine , but I asked nicely in the comments if they could pls add some veggies cause their was no option to add it on online, then when i went to pick it up I get a dirty look from the server, get home & see they wrote right on the pasta container YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR EXTRASS IN THE FUTURE! for the one piece of brocolli they added. I honestly would of paid extra if they had the option/button listed but they didnt so I put it in the comments. The pasta wasnt seasoned at all and very bland as well (no onions or garlic for flavour, not true Italian) How they dealt with it I found extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming, probably wont be back

Had my sons wedding reception there. Dante club always does it right.
Was there for a comedy show. Starter was meatless rigatoni, which was ok. Our meal consisted of a soggy chicken cutlet, frozen carrots and a pumpkin(?) puree (no potatoes). Comedy show was great; however, the meal was disappointing.

Great building
The Porcupine Dante Club is a terrific place! From weddings to meetings and anything in between, we are always very comfortable. The buffets are decent as well as prepared meals. Parking can be trying in compared to what the building can hold so I would suggest to go early to just take a taxi or mass transit.

If youre looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place to go to! I went there for lunch and took advantage of their Buffet. The food quality was superior and I enjoyed every single bite! The staff was very friendly and attentive and Ill definitely be going there again when I return to Timmins.

I dont know what the hype is all about. The food is plain/average and the halls are due for a major renovation. The restaurant doesnt even have dedicated washrooms. Nothing special here folks, perhaps its nostalgic for the locals, I dont know. In my opinion, If you want tasty Italian food give Toffanellos a try instead.
