Disappointing Experience - Would Not Recommend I was genuinely excited for a good meal, but what I received was nothing short of a disaster. The wrap looked completely unappetizing—it arrived torn, soggy, and barely holding together. Ingredients were spilling out in a sloppy mess, and it was impossible to even eat properly. The bread was dry and cracked, while the filling seemed hastily thrown together with little care for presentation or quality. For something that should be simple and delicious, this was a huge letdown. Definitely not worth the price or the mess. Save your money and appetite for somewhere else!
Recently catered from this restaurant for an event of 50+ people. The food was delicious and was ready for pickup on time and staff helped to load the car. Kebabs and rice were quite flavourful and came in decent portions and for a good price. Inside of the restaurant is modern and very specious. Overall, happy with the service!
The servers here are unbelievably incompetent and most of them can barely speak English. One girl taking orders is extremely rude and yells at customers. My friend tried to order a bottle of water and she insisted they didn’t have water, when we could see the water in the fridges behind her. Got angry when we pointed that out. Another girl constantly on her phone. They’re all chatting or fooling around instead of taking orders. The water wall feature drips water on the seats. No one cleans the tables. Gross. No actual menu, they told me I had to scan a QR code. When I tried to order, the prices on the menu, the prices on the screen, and actual prices were different. As another reviewer pointed out, for some reason there is a giant clown that comes up on the menu and blocks everything. If you eat here you’re the clown.
One of the best kebab platters I’ve had! It’s advertised as enough for four people, but it can easily feed more. Everything tastes amazing—each kebab is flavorful, tender, and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!
If you have spent more than planned time at Costco - Overlea Boulevard(which happens with all of us, all the time) and want to grab a quick takeaway so you can have your meal when you get home then there no better option than Kandahar Kabab. Consistency is the key with their food - its good all the time you have it. I have tried their lot of dishes and none has disappointed. Their portions are also quite good, so you are never left yearning for more.
When you walk in, there are multiple signs to scan a QR code for the “touchless” menu, as there appears to be no paper menus. Depending on what you want to order, you have to go to a different website to see the rest of the menu. If you try to read the menu on the TVs above, there is A CLOWN that pops up on the TV and blocks the menu so you can’t see the whole menu. He’ll make silly faces, blow bubbles, and walk across the screen. There is also another woman on her phone who appears on another part of the menu. Neither of these bring any sort of value to the customer, and instead block the menu behind them and make ordering much more frustrating. Once you manage to pick what you’re going to order, the process is pretty smooth. We ordered a party platter and the staff were good about customizing the wraps and toppings as desired. The food itself is good, and we felt the wrap platter was a great deal for the price. Management needs to get their head on straight and make the ordering experience easier and more pleasant.
I recently dined at Kandahar in eastyork and had an exceptional experience. The warm and inviting atmosphere, combined with modern decor, sets the perfect tone for a cozy meal. The food was outstanding, with each dish bursting with fresh, flavorful ingredients and beautifully presented. The ambiance is perfect for both casual dining and special occasions, with comfortable seating and pleasant background music. Prices are reasonable, offering great value for the quality and portions. My kids loved the place. I highly recommend Kandahar for a delightful dining experience in Toronto. I look forward to returning.
Ridiculous customer service. I went today scanned the menu and found on website there's a promo. When I asked at to cashier first she told me wait " I will confirm with my manager" I waited patiently and willing to place my other order. She moved from a cash and upon asking she said I'm waiting for my manager. 15 minutes later she disappeared and went back thought I left. When I asked her she said have you placed an order yet. I told her you told me to wait and it's almost 15 minutes. She said I was waiting for my manager but no communication to customer. Treating me like I'm bagger asking for a free food. They continue the work and fully ignored the customer. I have been going there since past 6 years but not anymore
I had an absolutely horrible dining experience at Kandahar Kabob and felt compelled to share my disappointment. I ordered a half chicken, fish, and Kandahar Kabob chicken, and the quality of the food was abysmal. The chicken tasted like it had been stored in a freezer for a month completely dry and hard as a rock. The fish portion was shockingly small, completely tasteless, and not worth the price. To make matters worse, they overcharged me for the half chicken. The QR code menu shows $9.50, the screen menu in the restaurant says $11.50, but they charged me $12.50! When I brought this up to the staff, the management did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. No apology, no explanation just poor service all around. Overall, the food was terrible, the service was unacceptable, and the pricing was deceptive. This place is highly NOT recommended. Save your money and dine elsewhere. Honestly, probably the worst experiences I had ordering food ever. Firstly, since it was a GST and HST break in Ontario they didn t accept card for this transition to avoid the tax, and resorted to customers e-transfering the owner for their payment of the orders which was a hassle and made the line and wait time long. I finally ordered the food and took a bite into raw chicken, it wasn t just one piece that was raw it was every piece of chicken on my plate. No apology or anything from the employees, though I get it it can be busy and maybe they were flustered; fine. I could have escalated the matter right there and then but honestly I just accepted the remade food and ate it. Then to top it off while I m eating my remade food, a cockroach appears on my table while eating. At that point I just got up and left, absolutely a joke of an experience please take it from me, and take your money anywhere else but here.

It had been one of my favourite places for many years in the GTA. But my last three visit in different locations has changed my idea.the beef is not juicy as much as it used to be. The plates are not filled as much as it used to be. Something has changed for sure but I do not know what exactly it is.
Cashier is rude when asked to clarify an item. Tables were not cleaned and it was hard to find seats.

I ve had enough of this restaurant s incompetence. They constantly send incomplete orders or deliver items I never even ordered, despite the fact that the receipt attached to the bag is correct. It s clear they don t bother double-checking anything before sending out orders. The last straw for me was my most recent experience they delivered only TWO dishes when I had ordered and paid for FOUR. This is completely unacceptable, and it s not the first time something like this has happened. If you value your time, money, and sanity, do yourself a favor and avoid ordering from this place. I certainly won t be ordering from them ever again.

I had dinner today at kandahar kabab.I dont know what happened to their food maybe their chef changed or owner got changed.Before i used to have dinner their food was amazing.But today everything was not worth it.Kabobs were dry and chops were smelling to bad.Even their food presentation changed.I will not recommend anyone to come to this place.

I love the taste of wrap I had all my family come try it but today jan 3 I went in I not even the girl who making wrap same gloves she using to scroll tablet with she then use it to take the veggie. Also I don t eat beef spiritual reason but the 3 knifes sitting same spot when I ask she told me she know which is which fact is they not suppose to be in same spot . Now I don t want the wrap I pay almost $9 for . I won t be going there anymore. Went back there lots of young people working . Ordered takeout. Two orders of the Lamb chops. Tasted amazing and my sister loved it also. The portion size for one order is good for two people.
Rip offs. I have ordered a platter from Uber and the size of the platter was extremely small. Half of the platter was filled with pickles. The other half barely had any food to even fill a kid. The taste of the food was pathetic to the height. Buying from them for years but the last two orders were terrible. No more Kanadahar kabab. April 14,2023 Quality has gone way down. I placed an order and the amount of food $100 got was abysmal. The meat is less as compared to rice. My order was also missing a shawarma combo. Customer service is lackluster as I have called twice but no avail. I would suggest choose any other,better places than Kandahar Kebab as its quality,service,portions are sub par. So throughly disappointed. Just minor tweaks needed, otherwise good food quick service and great ambiance Edit:July 7/2019 The accessible washroom is out of service, and its very difficult to use the facilities with a special needs child.Washroom is clean, but efforts should be made to open up the accessible washroom ASAP.

I always dine in at the Scarborough location , love their food and portions. This was my first time in the Thornecliff location and I m Quite disappointed with the food quality and portion. Never going there again. We ordered barg kabab wardak chicken, and herati kabab. Most of the kebabs were quite dry, specially the Wardak. Don t order it, it was super dry. The portions were quite less compared to Scarborough and the quality of salad was bad too. The ambience and service was good, but the food was bad. Overall, not a good experience at all.

Unfortunately their food quality and quantity has really gone down!! I was shocked to see the portion and the salad just had cabbage and onion no lettuce no cucumbers nothing!! Spoke to the manager - Roze/Rose, extremely RUDE, horrible customer service, she clearly doesn t know how to speak to customers, she advised if I don t like the salad, I shouldn t BUY! Just a heads up, but I think the person who took my phone order could use a crash course in customer service. I mean, shouting at customers who dont understand the menu isnt exactly the best way to make a good impression. You guys are representing the great Afghan culture and values, and that kind of behavior is not exactly what Id call a shining example. The kitchen crew is busting their butts to make sure every meal is a home run, but if the customer service is subpar, it could end up being a swing and a miss. Just something to chew on. Humility is the secret ingredient, my friends. Lets celebrate the kitchen heroes and their dedication to creating culinary masterpieces that make our hearts and stomachs happy!

Wow, just wow! I stumbled upon Kandhar Kabab Restaurant in Thorncliffe Park and Im so glad I did! Their Tandoori Chicken Shawarma is a game-changer. The flavors are incredibly rich and the chicken is so tender it just melts in your mouth. The combination of the crispy shawarma bread, the creamy tzatziki sauce, and the perfectly spiced tandoori chicken is absolute perfection. Ive had my fair share of shawarmas, but this one takes the cake. The portion is generous, the price is reasonable, and the service is friendly. The place is very unhygienic, poor customer service. Veggies had some soapy smell. Customer service is pathetic had to wait for my order from like 45 mins on top of it when I got my shawarma plate the chicken was falling on to the tray and rice was also spread out on the tray. When I called for the manager to complaint she refused to come over the call. Would not suggest anyone to go here.

Just picked up kofta kebab, salad and naan. Simply disgusting!!! The entire meal seemed like it was reheated. Kebabs were rubbery and looked like cardboard. Naan was burnt. Good service is meaningless when the food is this horrible. Then when I called to complain. Spoke with somebody who could barely speak any English!!! Disgusting!!!

Just had the most amazing experience at this place. Kebab was Absolutely perfect. Every bite was a delight, like they knew exactly what I wanted before I even ordered. And let s talk about the space it s huge! Plenty of room to relax and enjoy your meal without feeling crowded. Plus, free parking is always a win. No hassle, no stress, just park and enjoy. I recently ordered from Kandahar Kabab and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. I ordered the chicken, but when it arrived, it was clear that it wasnt cooked properly. The meat was still pink in some parts and lacked the flavor I was expecting. What made matters worse was that a few hours after eating, I started feeling unwell. I suffered from a severe stomach ache that eventually led to diarrhea. It was a miserable experience that I wouldnt wish on anyone. Given the poor food quality and the impact it had on my health, I cant recommend Kandahar Kabab. I wont be returning, and I urge others to be cautious if they choose to eat here.

The halal status of Kandahar Kabab is questionable. I have concerns about the halal status of Kandahar Kababs meat(Beef, Lamb and Chicken). When I visited their EastYork location (45 Overlea Blvd), the staff refused to disclose their halal meat supplier or provide Halal certification. I asked to speak with the manager or owner to inquire about their halal policies, but was denied. I advise fellow halal meat consumers to exercise caution and verify the restaurants halal credentials before dining...
An all round amazing spot for lunch or dinner. Taste, portion and cost are all 10/10. Friendly staff and nice clean atmosphere. I look forward to the next meal from the team here!

I was disappointed to find that Kandhar kabob doesn t provide halal certification for its food. As a Muslim customer I couldn t trust the food being served. I urge the hotel to consider obtaining halal (HMA)certification .

Yesterday night i ordered chicken pulawo around 10:30 pm it was buy one get one free but the chicken was smelling .I am also a cook i know it is smelling . Please if you cannot serve good food for bogo then please sell just one but not the food that was smelling . But the naan was super good i will order the naan once again but not the other food .
I m very sad to say that I used to enjoy this location very much until recently I was sick for 3 days because of rotten meat and maggots that was served with my chicken shawarma wrap. When I went to complain and ask for a manager, they said they don t have one. The cashier didn t seem to care at all and just gave me a phone number that was disconnected. Please be safe and check your food before you eat it here. Please see attached picture of maggot found in my food.
The counter was so bad manner
I used to come here to get lamb chops. Im not sure if their system is changed or not however their portions got smaller and they are not cleaned as usual. I got 4 small lamp chops and 2 were super dry and we couldn t eat at all. It is luxury to eat at restaurant nowadays, plz take care of each plate.

Terrible Food and a Health Hazard - Stay Away! This was one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had. We were excited to try this restaurant, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. We ordered Kandahar kabob and lamb chop, and both were absolutely awful. The lamb chop was dry and had a strange, off-putting taste that made me question how fresh the meat really was. The Kandahar kabab was even worse tough, overcooked, and completely flavorless. It was as if they didnt care about the quality of the meat or how it was prepared. To make matters worse, the food clearly wasn t fresh. Both my husband and I ended up feeling sick shortly after our meal. The meat tasted like it had been sitting around for days, and we regretted every bite. We had high hopes for a delicious kabob dinner, but what we got was a terrible experience that left us both with upset stomachs. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone there are much better options out there that actually serve fresh, properly cooked food. Stay away!

I picked up my order . And the sides and bread were missing. And this happened twice. Careless and irresponsible behaviour. Spoiled the dinner party. When we contact them. They always say some will call you to fix it. But no one calls. Bad service experience not even once but twice.
