Straightforward eatery with an old-school vibe for diner-style fare from eggs to burgers to pie.
It's got that old school diner look and feel, which works for this place. I went in for breakfast which was decent. It was a standard breakfast, nothing special. The milkshake was great and I'd order that again. I understand this place has been around for a while, so they must be doing something right, so I'll go back one day and try their lunch items.
Mars Diner is a nostalgic gem, capturing the classic diner vibe with its bold red interiors, checkered floors, and neon accents that transport you straight to the ‘50s. It’s an ideal spot for a laid-back catch-up, with friendly and attentive staff who keep the vibe upbeat. The menu delivers all the comfort classics; we ordered the Mars Grand Slam and an English-Style Breakfast, each served in generous portions that hit the mark for hearty, filling diner fare. While the dishes stay true to their roots, Mars Diner adds just enough charm to make the experience feel unique. Overall, it’s a satisfying spot that we’d recommend for anyone craving a genuine diner throwback!
Amazing restaurant with great food! Our server was very nice and quick. The food looked great and tasted great. The prices were standard Toronto prices but the portions were a good size. Only issue I have with the place is there was alot of flies at the back of the restaurant. I had the Nutella milkshake and waffle comet Benedict it was very tasty and filling. The waffle was nice and soft while the chicken was crispy and sweet!
Mars Diner is a fantastic spot for a classic diner experience in Toronto! I stopped by for breakfast and ordered their pancakes with an Americano. The pancakes were fluffy, light, and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of sweetness. The Americano was smooth and strong—exactly what I needed to start my day. The retro vibe and friendly service made the visit even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a no-fuss, delicious breakfast spot with great coffee, Mars Diner is the place to be. I’ll definitely be returning for more!
A traditional weekly ritual for our lovely family, we could not pass on a visit to check this place out. For a moment, you'll forget you're in Canada as you step into a 60s-style American diner. A little quieter during weekdays, but reportedly just the same! The meal sizes are huge and are great value for money, Love that it's all freshly made in the open plan kitchen. A little warm inside because of this, no doubt that'd be great in winter! For a filling meal at a good price in great surroundings, you can't go past here!
Amazingly fast and friendly service, classic diner atmosphere complete with 1950s & 60s top-40 soundtrack and delicious food! Eggs were perfect over-easy, great home fries and succulent sausage. I didn’t get a photo but the pancakes are some of the best I’ve ever had- light, fluffy and not too sweet. Will definitely be back!
Delicious brunch! Both the savoury dishes (eggs benedict) and the sweet dish (waffles) were really good. The fruit on the waffles were fresh!
I’ve lived more than 2 years in Midtown and never heard of this 70 years old place. Yes! Believe it or not but this place was founded in 1951!!! They have a very large menu. It is known as a breakfast/brunch place but they also have plenty of selections for lunch or dinner. I was there for a breakfast and I’ve tasted one of the best hollandaise sauce in my life. Florentine is extremely healthy with well-prepared greens on the side. Cooks behind the bar and waiters were very energetic and happy to work with a smiling face. Even though the restaurant was full to the brim, the team was working motivated. Only downside of the place is the size of booths and interior design. It looks like an old diner with lovely red color but there are just too many tables in the available space. Even our 2 plates could hardly fit on our table. Other than that everything was splendid. I recommend you to try this place on weekdays when it is less crowded. A family with a stroller cannot fit. There is not enough tables for larger parties.
Great service: Kind, considerate, helpful and a bunch of other words like that.
Ive been going there since the 90s and just love the vibes. It helps that the food is awesome as well!
In love with the birrira benedicts at this place! It just became my favourite brunch in town!!
I absolutely love this place! So good. Dietary restrictions: They have almond, oat and soy milk for the lactose intolerant. Food : 5/5 |
MARS MOUNTAIN ~ The name says it all!
Great breakfast spot.
Got a table for one but the food was so good it was hard not to share with restaurants guests!! I brought it up to one of the waiters and they said its always like this!!! If the tables have this many pests, what is it like where they cook guests food? Food : 3/5
Too slow. They forgot our table and took another tables order who sat after us. We went inside to place our order anyways and we informed them of their incompetence. Understaffed for morning rush. Staff are too busy making waiting lists, because of limited seating. Covid procedures are affecting their quality of service. Went inside to ask for our own condiments, and to ask to pay for our bill. Food was good and the staff were nice, but they are too overwhelmed. Recommendation to management: Have an extra person helping from 10 to 12 perhaps. Its a lot of work for the girls to be running back and forth and managing a waitlist. Update: This review is reflective of their experience during covid. Perhaps things are now better.
Very good food and tasteful, excellent service and a good atmosphere. Sorry for the photo, I was hungry and started eating and was very good, couldn t stop.
Poor service and higher prices. Long wait for food today that was served cold. When we pointed out a mistake in the order the (Vietnamese?) server gave attitude. Been a customer for years but not anymore
This place rocks! All the dishes are amazing and portions are quite big, service is always great. They have a limited amount of seating and there s always a line, I don t mind waiting for 10 mins to be seated.
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Dirty, infested with fruit flies everywhere. Was sick, throwing up all evening after dining here. Obviously a case of food poisoning from how dirty this place is. I also noticed (when leaving) one of the cooks moving cooked mushrooms from one bowl to another with his bare hands! I wish I d seen that when I first walked in so I could ve walked right out! Uncomfortable and extremely tight seating and the food was mediocre at best. Home fries were gross, and they charge a pretty penny for the terrible germ infested food they serve. Save yourself and your money!
Fun cozy spot with great fried chicken and home fries!
Good food, and better service. It is usually my go to place with my gf for breakfast.
The quality and cleanliness are terrible in comparison to the price; simply ask them to check out the other side of the store.
Beautiful day
Old fashioned atmosphere, great food!
Love the food and the experience
I had a BLT with fries, and it was amazing! Good amount of mayo and lots of bacon. Honestly great service, the price was also quite reasonable for food in toronto nowadays. Overall a solid 9/10
Food is decent, the portions are smaller & kinda pricy which is understandable considering the location. The waiting time is way too long ....no one should wait 20-30( been there 3 times and each time same) min for bacon and eggs specially when place is half empty. The waiters and waitresses are decent. Slow slow service

Food tastes really good, I appreciate the salad the add in every plate, service is good.
Definitely has that retro feel but the food that we had was not up to par. We had basic diner sandwiches and they were mediocre at best. One of the sandwiches was so soggy it was inedible after a few bites. Also pretty expensive considering quality/quantity of what you are getting. Great diner vibe but the food needs work.
Service and atmosphere has declined greatly in the past few years. Now its expensive as well as cramped and hot. Food
Great spot for the classic diner food and vibes. Solid burgers, breakfast, and shakes. It is very busy at 1pm though, don t expect fast service.
Foods good; very crowded seating.
Food was really good, however the service was a little lacking and the hygiene has room for improvement. Otherwise the staff were kind. Definitely recommend their variety of eggs and Ying Yang.
Everything a diner should be. I love the large variety of eggs Benedict.
An excessive amount of flies to be considered a restaurant
Whoever thought about Diner experience must have thought about this place. I did not expect the quality of food and creativity out of a Diner place. This is my new regular place. Look for Thomas, youll thank me later.
Amazing place for brunch. There milkshakes is something to die for.
Haven t been here in quite a while. Happened to be in the neighbourhood and needed a place to grab breakfast. Pleasantly surprised this continues to.be a great breakfast spot in a great area of the city. A+
Really cool vintage place.
Sick vibe, the spanish omelet is worth a try!
Prefect!!!!!!!!
We loved it! I had chicken and waffle and probably the best I have had. The waffle was so light! Chicken is delicious. He had Nevula and loved it. Prices are good for the amount of food.
Busy place but service was excellent. Food was tasty with a large serving. Our dishes were blueberry pancakes and the grand slam. Both were very good. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Had an old diner look, a little bit small but its enough room to eat.
The grilled chicken club sandwich with home fries was delicious and great value, easily could have fed two!
amazing brunch, lovely fresh smoothies and great portions! one of our favourite weekend brunch spots :)
Great food and good prices Fast service Food
Great food! The staff are very friendly and the service is fantastic
Went with a couple of friends while visiting for the weekend. Super friendly staff with a very comfortable environment and delicious food to boot. If youre a fan of the retro 50s style diner aesthetic, I cant recommend this place enough. Will happily come back again next time Im in town!
great food, could use a little more flavorful hollandaise sauce... server forgot I had ordered a drink.... couldnt enjoy it with the great tasting food
This is one of the coziest place to have breakfast/brunch. Amazing food and really great service. The retro setting of the diner takes you to a couple of decades back in time. Sort of reminds me of Susie and Maisel s diner spot on The Marvelous Mrs Maisel show.
Its not very common to find a place serving brunch food for dinner, but you can get it here ..so points for that.Food was okay...Had high expectations so was a bit disappointed. Have had better tasting Benedict plates from various other restaurants. Potatoes were meh...Service was nice.. atmosphere and music was good for the diner style ambience
This place serves up amazing breakfasts! From fluffy pancakes to hearty omelets, every dish is cooked to perfection. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it the perfect spot to start your day. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious morning meal!
Absolutely horrid of what little service at this diner. The waitress didn t deserve more tip due to the dining experience she provided, and she badmouthed the diners. I wouldn t go back no matter how good the food was.
Nice breakfast spot, strawberry milkshake was yummy
The menu has something for everyone. The food is always fresh and tasty. Great place for breakfast/brunch/lunch.
The place is small but busy. Come for brunch or dinner. Mars mountain is my favorite.
Sometimes they are understaffed and the potatoes can be undercooked. But otherwise a good, reliable, old school brunch place
Great food and cozy environment. It was pretty packed given it was Saturday afternoon but we requested water 3 times during our meal and it didnt get to us until the bill came. The washrooms were visibly clean but reeked of sewage somehow and were freezing cold due to the fans. Other than that, the server was very friendly.
Very rude staff.
We were so excited to go to Mars diner due to the overwhelming number of positive reviews. Who doesn t love a good retro diner? However, we arrived to an understaffed and dirty diner. There were two tables that had dirty dishes but none of the 3 staff seemed concerned with clearing the table to seat us and the group ahead of us. After waiting around for 5 minutes, I finally went up and politely asked the hostess how long she thinks it will be till we get a table. She looked at me and said I have no idea . I was baffled and repeated her statement, posing it as a question. She responded with I don t have a clue when you will be seated . We did not linger any longer as all hopes of being seated were gone. Shame.
Not our first time here so I can say that food is decent, but service has deteriorated and restaurant ambiance s just bad, and very expensive too! We came in a time when there s only one cook, and I know this sort of things happen. But if this is the case, they should let the customers know that waiting will be long. We waited for more than 30 mins and the food did not even arrive. We had to leave for another appointment and just told them we ll pay for our coffee. Tbh if they are truly sorry for this mishap they could have offered to give the coffee for free and I would have still insisted on paying. I think they just don t care for their customers. I would say just go to the bagel place on eglinton and that s more value for money.
The male host is good as a host. Dont let him be your server, he will forget about you to talk to the cooks. Also, dont bother with the milkshakes anymore. They dont put them in proper pint glasses rather small diner soda glass for the same price...
Good diner. Lots of menu options.
Space was bigger than it looks on the outside. A bit tight seating though. Food was ok. Had to send back plate to get it corrected. Price was ok. Staff was accommodating.
The best burger in Toronto!!!
Really good place for breakfast/lunch. Tasty food reasonably priced. was not a knowledge when arriving which would be nice, but I guess after the French toast and milkshake it didn t even matter anymore.
Where to start? Place was freezing cold.. dirty.. Food was poor quality.. 3 scrambled eggs was like 1 scrambled egg.. hash browns the worst ive ever had.. Server had 4 tables and didnt get any of the orders right..Place is a joke... Must be new owners since I was last there.. USE to be a good breakfast place.. Too Bad!!! Never again.. UGH
The picture speaks for itself - toppings for my burger.
I am vegetarian, so usually most places in Canada have 1-2 options at max. But Mars has so many options! I was beyond happy. Plus it was tasty. Service was great. I will definitely go again and try different items every time for my brunch. My friends ordered items that had eggs, they said that their eggs werent cooked enough & ended up leaving some food without eating.
Busy but worth the wait! Comfy, retro vibes with great portions and fantastic service.
Great time for breakfast but take time on line 25 min.
Classic diner style breakfast. Large portions and lots of options. My favorite breakfast potatoes in the city.
The foods are coming wrong, the atmosphere is good but the service is terrible, the guy here acts like he does not give a damn care to us at all. Feels like it would be better for him if we didnt even come inside. We are telling the lady to bring us a pancake with fruits on top not cooked with. For gods sake she says we dont have that and brings cooked and then later on with the guys uncaring attention towards us, he comes and changes my friends wrong taken pancake order.
Best breakfast place in Toronto! Their mimosas are to die for! Great service too albeit the place is a bit small and you may have to wait to be seated BUT ITS WORTH THE WAIT! Service bus stop tier and personable(cant remember my servers name but she goes to uoft) Go check it out!
Generous portions, fun atmosphere, great old school tunes, and smiling staff
Food is good. Burger is nicely done. Salad on the side is quite large. Good value. Service is friendly. Decent prices.
Very solid diner with great food! Recommend their chicken and waffles!
Dont believe any bad review. They were probably just having a bad day and took it out on normal people in a normal restaurant:p I fricken love this place. I live down the street, so I come here allotttt (and order online delivery on my hangover mornings lmao). Huge portions, reasonable price. I always get the British breakfast with a side of poutine. Always pretty darn great. Sometimes I have to wait for a table to be cleared, but its never more than 5 min and its worth it tbh. Not a 5 Michelin star restaurant or anything, but literally perfect for breakfast/lunch.
The breakfast is phenomenal
Received my food through Uber. Ordered the corned beef hash. Toast was soggy, my sunny side egg yolks were congealed and inedible. The corned beef hash was even worse. I have never had corned beef hash cooked into a patty before. Usually it s a pile of a good mix of hashbrown pototoes and beef. They also added spices that I have never associated with this dish before and was very off putting. The flavour was definitely not the corned beef hash that I love. Only ended up eating a couple of bites and threw out the rest.
Went here during the Christmas Break and WOW. What a treat! The milkshakes were superb! Oreo and Nutella were both amazing! My personal faves were the Southern Fried Chicken and the Philly Steak Sandwich! Both cooked to perfection and came with golden fried onion rings or French fries! The gravy?!?! CRAZY! Please ask for some on the side cause my oh my it s liquid gold! Would recommend this place to anyone! P.S. they have alcohol!
Great food, great classic atmosphere, and great staff. Highly recommended for brunch.
Amazing place and great staff
The food was AMAZING, wonderful staff
Beautiful, delicious and the lady who served us was also very nice and friendly Vegetarian options: Vegetarian wraps Food : 5/5 |
This place used to be good. I went there a while back to work. There were flies everywhere. I couldnt sit there in peace and enjoy my meal. It was off-putting and I lost my appetite. The food wasnt the best either. They really need to make it cleaner.
My burger was dry and burnt. Asked for fries have me a side salad instead
Quick and friendly service, DELICIOUS breakfast. Such a cute place with a retro diner atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a coffee or a bite to eat.
Very cute diner! The food was so delicious and I loooove the jams they provided. My favourite was the orange jam. I enjoyed the grand slam a lot and would recommend this place if you re ever in the area. Was quite busy and bustling Friday noon, which is always a great sign! Server was very kind and attentive and patient when I asked her for recommendations. Love me some diner food!
Went here today for my boyfriend s birthday. Atmosphere was fantastic, such a cool place! We had the eggs benedict and it was very very good. Staff was so kind too
I was excited to try this diner and when I got my order, there was a hair in my burger (which i know happens sometimes), they did replace the burger but did not compensate for this like other restaurants always do. I found that incredibly rude because I almost puked when i found the hair in my food and it ruined my appetite. i dont need them to give me free food but they literally did not even try to compensate for it in any way which i found disrespectful. idc if i sound like a karen but honestly that was not a fun experience.
Friendly, fantastic staff. Consistently delicious food. Always solid tunes.
Decided to have the Mac and cheese and was delighted with it. Great service as well Food
They have rats and roaches in their kitchen watch out, and most of their condiments are expired -employee
A north Toronto staple! This is our go-to brunch spot.
Great place to grab a bite. While it is not physically huge the staff are friendly and the food is good with reasonable prices for the area
Mars Diner is a quaint little diner, that serves the typical diner essentials. My coworkers and I have been here a few times and their pancakes are wonderful, as well as their service.
A typical diner with some very good breakfast/brunch options
Ordered 3 meals for my friends and I while I was moving in for takeout. One of the meals, chicken strips & fries, didn t have the dipping sauce. The fries for all meals were unsalted and undercooked & had to be thrown out.
Absolutely delicious food. Ive already made plans to go again.
Friendly staff, lots of options, hot coffee and fresh food! Whats not to love?
I visited this diner for lunch both days I was in town, and I enjoyed the diner vibe. The service was quick. I tried the burger and fries on the first day, and it was great with large portions. On the second day, I had the benedict breakfast, and the hollandaise sauce was amazing. Overall, this is a great spot to check out if youre in the area!
Loved it. They had WiFi and an outlet and I could stay there for a long time working on my laptop
I havent visited Mars Diner in a couple of years and the food still tasted great and was served on plates that were as big as I remembered them being. Despite being so busy that there was a line out the door and onto the sidewalk, the waiters were all very courteous and came back to check on how my friends and I were doing or if we needed anything. Solid recommendation for anyone that loves all day breakfast food and more!
The food is good. Very busy restaurant so the service is not very fast but it is ok. Smoked salmon has a little bit of fishy smell and taste, but their potatos and eggs are great
One of my worst experiences happened here. The food was bad, the environment was very dirty, and the staff were rude and unprofessional. I question anyone who gave this restaurant a full rating, what pleasant experience did they have? The restaurant manager was also unprofessional like the rest of the staff and didnt care about respecting the customer.
Pretty nice place, super fast service and it tastes much better than many other places out there. Awesome value for money as well This place is outstanding and consistent, Ive been coming here for 8 months now and te food is always amazing
Unfortunately it was one of the filthy restaurants I have been there also the it waiters were too rude and impolite,I never go there again and wouldn t suggest it any body,
Unfortunately not only the food was awful but also the personnel was rude. It seems every thing here was completely out of service and control.
Why cancel my order!
Great brekkie/brunch spot - tons of benny options!
Terrible restaurant I d give it 0 stars if I could, they have bugs everywhere and there was hair in my food. The kitchen staff seem very incompetent and do not practice hygiene or food handling regulations. Overpriced for what it is.
Cute interior, very delicious omelete :-)
Food is tasty but be aware of the inflated prices... how can they charge 6.25$ for a f* slice of bacon?? Just read the menu carefully.
Great diner. Music is great, food was perfect breakfast. Home fries are home made. Waitress was awesome, kept the coffee cups full.
I love this place. Classic breakfast spot. Its always packed on the weekends but tables move pretty fast. My go-to is the eggs benny. Great energy to start the day.
Amazing food and service
Really good food, service, and experience. The ambience is pretty standard and crowded. But the food makes up for it.
Best breakfast ever!
Food is good, but I ve got no clue why the owner ever attempts at running a restaurant, they are closed every day at 4 and don t be fooled by the sign that says they are open until 10 thurs-Sat there is a very good chance they will not be open, it s a case of a person who should never be in the restaurant business yet wants to call himself a restaurant owner.
Great food and awesome service
Great food and reasonably priced. I love the option to eat brunch food at 3pm on a weekday.
It was great. We had awesome timing because we got a booth right away. Everything was fresh and our server was attentive throughout the meal.
A nicely located restaurant with a really cool old school diner feel. The lineups can be quite long on weekends. The food is pretty decent, with the chicken and waffles being my favourite go-to. I think the employees are spread thin, and there isnt much of a system for taking down names and getting us seated as efficiently as possible. At least, that was my experience the last couple of times I visited. The overall experience here has been pleasant, however Id say the service is the weakest point.
Great food, great service. Everything you d want to have at a diner. Great for a weekend brunch. Vegetarian options: Beyond meat burger: The Venus
Brings back fond memories of my younger days going to Mars restaurant on College Street. Classic diner but with a young hip vibe. Like everywhere these days its a bit pricey but the food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend it.
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the amazing food service I received at your restaurant. From the moment I walked in the door, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the friendly staff who greeted me with a smile. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was blown away by the quality of the ingredients and the care that went into each dish. The chicken and waffles were scrumptious with the fresh OJ The owner was so welcoming as well our server Nella went above and beyond. Thank you!!
Love coming here! Just brought my son for birthday brunch and he loved it too :) Staff are amazing and the food is delish
Food was delicious next trip toronto Ill be back
Old school Americana. Super friendly staff. The food is excellent. I recommended for sure.
Very much a diner. Booths were a little tight. Food was good, service was pretty quick. Using the bathroom, with the wobbly basement floors made us feel a little drunk. Would go back!
Great breakfast place. Well served dishes and nice staff.
Delicious food, aesthetic environment and the best service! Hands-down, one of the best brunch places in Toronto.
Went for breakfast and it was fast and deelicious. Gave it 4 stars as there were not enough potatoes. Was great
A great little hidden breakfast spot. Friendly service, great food and reasonable prices.
Love Mars. The best bran muffins.
Filling and tasty food with a cozy diner aesthetic.
My favourite brekkie in midtown with a true diner experience and atmosphere. I love that there is a long list of 15+ varieties of delicious Eggs Bennies to choose from. You won t be disappointed with the multitude of options available here.
Belgian waffle is amazing. should try the Grilled Reuben sandwich . worth the money spent.
This place is your classic all American diner! I loved the look and feel of the place, most diners, although lovely, can feel really dingy. This place gives you that exciting classic diner feeling, from the booths, to the lights, to the cups, to the uniforms! I loved this place. I walk by it all the time, and it s always either full, or has a line coming out the door. Lucky for us, we were able to get seated very quickly. Service here is friendly and prompt. The staff are efficient and very kind and patient. The menu is huge, so prepare yourself for some amazing options. When I see a huge menu, I often worry that the food won t be great, because why are they making so many different things? But not at the Mars Diner. The food was phenomenal. And yes, it was classic diner food, but wow it was delicious. I ordered the southwest Benny sandwich, and an iced coffee with vanilla syrup in it. The iced coffee was great, I really enjoyed it. The food was also delicious. It was cooked perfectly, the salad was simple but tasty, and the home fries were classic and delicious. I loved the chipotle sauce and peameal bacon on my Benny, it also came with sautéed onion and mushrooms, which added the perfect touch. My partner ordered the mars mountain sandwich, which unfortunately wasn t what he expected (he misread the menu and didn t realize all the food would be layered on top of each other with the meats being chopped and mixed with the eggs). However, despite that, it tasted fantastic and he enjoyed the whole meal. This place does diner food fantastically, and it s no wonder it s busy all the time. I can t wait to come back here and try something else off of their menu.
First time try the place, everything was great. Its worth trying
Great food, amazing menu options. Service was amazing. Went on Labour Day when they were swamped and still relieved good service. Dont forget to try there own freshly squeezed orange juice. The scenery is straight out of a 1970s movie scene
The place has a cozy atmosphere but it has very limited space. The food was great and the service was amazing and really fast. If you like brunches this is a fun place to visit, some of the names in the Menu are hilarious.
Really good
Love them! Vegetarian options: They have many options on their menu Kid-friendliness: The environment and their food options so good!! Good for all ages :)
Went for the first time with my family, and we had THE BEST brunch in this neighbourhood!! Absolutely amazing home fries (real potato style), plus french toast made with challah bread (best bread for french toast), and some eggs Benny with absolutely amazing hollandaise sauce. I cant get over how great it was, plus a proper diner vibe and atmosphere to boot, you will not regret eating here whatsoever! Highly, highly recommend
I feel that the quality of the food here has gone down in the last few years. No qualms about the service and atmosphere though.
Hours on google are wrong. Wasted our time going there only to find out they were already closed
Best clubhouse sandwich in town . Solid milk shake , friendly staff as usual : )
Perfect spot for a no fuss breakfast. Good service, good coffee, good eggs.
Friendly, thoughtful staff, Great hash browns!
My partner used to love this place, so sometimes we still go there, but our last two visits were not pleasant so I don t think we ll ever go back. During our last visit our waiter forgot about us and we had to remind him about our drinks. He brought the wrong drink and forgot the milk on the side he also messed up my partner s food order and we had to ask him to replace it. During our visit before that - we waited for our food for 20 minutes and then it was served cold, so clearly they just forgot about it and it was sitting on the counter. The atmosphere used to be pleasant, now it is very chaotic we left irritated and won t be back.
The laid back vibe as well as the classic eggs made my day together with my close friends there . Also, the server ( Liz ) , who is an asset there , with her always ready pot of coffee made it much more comfortable & friendly .
The BEST brunch in the city, if you haven t been to Mars uptown, you re sleeping on some seriously great food! They have the best Benedict and dare I say blueberry pancakes in the city. GO HERE!! Vegetarian options: So many veggie options!
Favourite brunch spot in the city, and my gold standard for a diner. Yet to order something here I haven t enjoyed. Phenomenal Eggs Benedicts, amazing pancakes and waffles, great desserts, sandwiches, and I ve really enjoyed their Fried Chicken and dinner menu too. It s consistently good, whether during the week or on a weekend, morning, afternoon or evening. Expect to spend some time waiting in line on a Sunday morning, but it s always always been worth it. Even on a cold February morning. :) Vegetarian options: Plenty!
Quintessential American style dinner serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Large portion size and great quality control. Good place to go at any time if you are unsure what you want to eat but certain you want it grilled or fried.
This is a fun traditional style diner that serves incredibly delicious food, fun beverages from the typical to floats. The decor brings you back to simpler times. The service is friendly. Give Mars a try and you will agree that its out of this world.
Good diner food with a 60s ambiance
Best breakfast and brunch in the city and probably one of the best in Canada.
Hearty breakfast with a fast paced diner vibe. Great music and friendly staff.
A very cozy place with a special theme that takes you back to the 90s, I loved it, and the food was delicious.
Mediocre diner style food in a faux-50s style room, crammed booths, refills of properly watery diner coffee. Menu leans mostly into breakfast options, with a few wraps, burgers and sandwiches. I had a cheeseburger which was tasty but overly mayo laden and impossible to eat. Fries were limpid and seemed leftover from an earlier order. No kids menu. Noisy and not terribly family friendly. Service was pleasantly harried. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible
Weve tried many other all-day breakfast places but we always find ourselves coming back to this place despite the travel and parking (which is surprisingly easier than it looks for the area). They are certainly the best at being consistently skillful in poaching the egg to your liking. Most places cant get their eggs to be soft and a little runny like the way the chefs do it here. They definitely make the best eggs benedicts and weve went to at least 10 different restaurants who make the same but doesnt compare. Always a good trip to Mars and feeling great going back to Earth.
The best diner in Toronto. Always fresh ingredients and everything is good on the menu. Been going here for 25 years and it only got better with time.
Very kind staff. An excellent breakfast.
Vegetarian options: Omelette Food
Shared a delicious chicken sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The sandwich was insanely tasty and the server was friendly and helpful. Well be going again when in the area.
Second time I ve eaten here. Food is great and service is generally good. Our waitress today was pretty bad, gave lots of attitude and was very slow, really seemed like she didn t want to be there today. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope that maybe she was having a really bad day. Other waitress was really kind and uplifting, the cooking staff was really kind as well. Hope it was just one of those days and not a reflection of that individuals general service.
Eerything was good but theres a long line up at the weekend, the best thing that I noticed was a complete menu which can be chosen by any types of person. Despite the crowd their service was amazing and theyre super friendly and take the orders asap. Even when the waiters are busy , the chef come and take your order , so everyone pays attention to the customer which is great
Wonderful excellent food and atmosphere, we loved listening old classics while we were eating. Thanks so much to the Mexican chef, Eduardo who makes us a delicious dinner in a very short time. We really enjoyed it and definitely will be back soon.
Went for Sunday brunch at Mars Diner! Had to wait a few minutes in line to be seated, but our food came out very quickly once we got a spot. I enjoyed my omelette and the fun vibe of the place! I will come back again, maybe to try some of the fun dinner options I saw on the menu!
Come here all the time for lunch on the weekend. The wait time is usually between 10-15 minutes but there are a lot of tables so the line always moves quickly. The food is consistently great and the staff do a great job working as a team. The kitchen is open so you can watch your food being made which I find entertaining. The only thing I would be wary of, is the size of the seats. They are very small especially for two person tables. Otherwise this place has a great vibe and good food that keeps us coming back.
Excellent choice for brunch
Cute diner, not very spacious but has a lot of character. I got a burger which tasted great but completely fell apart. Shoestring style fries were really good too.
Awesome breakfast place! Yummy food! Innovative dishes! Only issue is long wait times Wish they could take table reservations Dietary restrictions: Have options for everyone
A gem in my neighbourhood! Love their chick Chicken comet with waffle and Eggs benedict, chicken and waffle were amazing! Like their salad dressing as well. The server and the chef were nice and friendly. Wanna try other dishes for the next visit! Food
That light, delicious burger that, as soon as you finish eating, makes you want to eat another.
I have never been able to eat here -- I have waited at the front for over 10 minutes without acknowledgement whatsoever from the very busy staff, twice. I always end up walking out as Im not sure if, or when Ill be able to sit down. I dont bring friends here because the chances of getting to eat is very low. Hopefully Ill finally get a chance to eat here and maybe change my review.
Come here regularly, as I work in the area. Was running late for my shift. Decided to pop in Mars and order breakfast to go. I was immediately greeted and told outside drinks arnt allowed. I didn t realize holding a coffee while waiting for take out was no longer allowed. Oh well Tim Hortons it s. Guess that s the only option in a pinch.
Good food good service fair prices. Plus you can see the kitchen and watch your food being made
Very small place was sat next to the entrance line out the door cold air rush in every time a had people staring standing next to and over are food and table as we ate the whole time. very small booths waiters were nice and polite food was ok overall my experience was not good
