Roses is a modern North American restaurant inspired by culinary trends across the continent.
We got into town at an odd time and they were happy to serve us a late lunch. I had a side of salad with grilled chicken thinking the tuna would be too small but both portions were actually quite large. It was really delicious!
Went there for lunch during the Royal happening near by. Location was hard to find with hungry kids but it turned out to so worth it. Note: the place is hidden on the second floor of the hotel. Food was so good. Server was accommodating to our rushed schedule. My boy loved the uncommon pancake. Looks different very yummy. Even the kids menu was awesome. Kitchen made me some exceptional scrambled eggs. Warm delicious and just slightly wet. So good. Wish I could make them like that. My breakfast potatoes were awesome. These aren’t hash brown you leave on the place. My daughter’s fries were also great. This place has their potato game down and solid. Sorry but I’m not the kind of person who takes pictures of food.
Gastronomical experience was definitely achieved!! The waiter was phenomenal, very attentive, even though he was the only one working. Several stars for him and the manager. The chef has a special place in my world, every item placed on the table did the most lovely sensory dance in my mouth. The signature roses cocktail was a dream. Such a delight to have experienced this.
Donovan was the best bartender I’ve ever had! Every cocktail he made me was delicious and beautifully presented. The food was delicious as well. But the service from Donovan is what will bring me back! Thank you so much for making this a wonderful experience. UPDATE! I came back for dinner and Tara-Lee was just as amazing! Delicious drinks and amazing service! Love this place!
My husband and I went for a dinner to celebrate his Birthday last night. Our table was ready when we checked in, we were instantly welcomed and attended to by our waitress (apologies, didn't get her name). She was wonderful, attentive when finishing drinks or our dishes and coming over to clear the table. She was awesome, super vibrant, polite and we got great service. We ordered a burger (well done) but due to a high volume of guests, unfortunately it came out more rare. We kindly asked to send it back and weren't looking for anything in return. The waitress was apologetic even when we explained we knew it wasn't her fault. The manager on duty (Ricky) came over and apologized as well as removed it from the bill. Things like this can happen but it was handled well plus they acknowledged hubby's birthday and brought a dessert over. Great experience and service!
The food, ambience and service were impeccable. Julian went above and beyond for us. I love the decor but the food, oh my goodness. The brunch was the best we ever had - the huevos rancheros and the southern Benny were unreal and the cookie after. Will definitely be back!
A great dining experience, celebrating a special event. I was there for a late lunch on a Sunday and found the restaurant not too busy. I got this wrong impression that we could see the lake from there but the restaurant is on the 2nd floor and the view of the water is blocked. I shared The French Omlette as I was told that the portion was quite generous. It was, but not for someone who would be hungry. The food was quite tasty; the mushrooms were marinated so nicely, and the salad had a nice dressing. They surprised us with a dessert and a candle for the birthday person, which was a very nice touch. The dessert was a delicious brownie that was rich enough to be shared by three people. I had the most delicious cappuccino made with almond milk. The staff were curtious and attentive. They validate your parking ticket and you can park for free for 3hrs.
I came here to have brunch with my one of my friend. The photos look so good online. My friend ordered French Omelette which was okay. It said there was black truffle added to the omelette I guess it was a little dash because we couldn’t taste it and the salad could be more to it was only spinach and pickle onion… I order the avocado toast… total disappointment. I could make much better at home and 80% less cost. There was not enough food on my plate, they could have added a side to it. It was one piece of bread smeared with cold avocado and two eggs sunny side up and some micro greens… at least cut the toast in half guys. The service was okay, the waiter didn’t even follow up with us after they brought the food to the table, it’s like we had to flag the person from the other side of the room. This review is intended for the management to improve their food and service.
Wow, not sure what drove all those negative but my family and I stayed at Hotel X and we loved it here. The food was excellent, service warm, and light-filled atmosphere.
What an AMAZING experience we had for Brunch. Burrata Salad was so yum and drinks made by the BEST bartender Donovan!
We were excited to try this place out but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. Service was not great, drinks left on the bar for 15 minutes while the waitresses aimlessly just circled tables filling water. We were seated well after the table beside us and received our food first, to which they were less than thrilled. Finally received drinks after the food. Food was dry and overcooked, salad was soggy and saturated in vinaigrette. The only time I saw our waitress was when it was time to hover over my shoulder and make sure I leave an adequate tip. I don t do negative reviews often but for $150 meal it has to be better than this.
Overpriced brunch and overpriced bottomless drinks. The brunch menu is incredibly subpar with an abysmal choice of options. Very clearly charging their exorbitant prices trying to cover their overhead with no intention of being any good
Perfect cosmo, thank YOU, Donovan, best bartender ever. If you have not had a perfect cosmo go to see Donovan.
Great spot for dinner
Good ambience. Food was ok. Nothing extraordinary, very average. Friendly and polite servers however quite slow service. Parking was free with validation which was a plus.
Excellent service and food was great! We were there in between shows at the EX so it was a very convenient place to go. Highly recommend Roses Social!
Great food, terrible service.
The food was honestly amazing. Has a very cool vibe to it all, but the service was BAD. First off, it took forever for someone to come up and just give my friend and I some water. The wait for our mimosas took a really long time, and I think it took about half an hour just to get the bill finally. Don t get me wrong, really great food, but the service hit a point where it felt like we were purposefully being ignored.
Convient location close to Budweiser stage. The atmosphere is very nice. Service was incredible. I will say that the foot was lacking, The Alfredo pasta and Green Goddess Salmon were just okay. Affordability and quick service balanced out the meal.
the service isnt the best or worst, and the food is decent
Delicious cocktails and a great place to catch a bit before a concert.
Fantastic service, small menu but the food we ordered was top quality. They even have a nice patio to enjoy.
For a 4.5 star hotel, this place was a dump. Service was excellent - she really did do a great job. Food is delicious - no complaints about either. If you order a cappuccino, you will get a latte. The barista didnt even know the difference. In fact, it came from a machine - the barista does not make the coffee drinks here. Again, 4.5 star hotel.... Giant TVs everywhere you look. Why?? It turns the restaurant into a bad sports bar. This is the 4.5 star dining area! The decor was so bad! The rooms are beautiful! Come down for brunch and look at this dump compared to the rooms. Glassware was fancy. But the decor was terrible in comparison. Do not eat here. Do not even come here for a coffee. So bad....
Honestly this place was great, good food service and atmosphere. The pancakes were a interesting composition but still fluffy, and offered turkey sausage when I thought they wouldn t have non pork substitutes.
I ordered the eggs benedict and it was possibly the best Ive ever had! The service was very slow, but friendly. Food : 5/5
If you are looking for a great vibe, chill space and excellent service; you have to check out Roses. Went in looking a bit lost but was immediately greeted & taken care of by Ricky. His attention to detail, excellent recommendations and overall welcoming energy took this experience to a full 5 stars. Be sure to check this spot out and ask for Ricky.
Great food option before a concert
This was an amazing restaurant. Getting there is a little confusing, but the food was delicious.
Very expensive, very slow, not a great choice.
Great food, great service and awesome atmosphere.
Rose s Restaurant is beautiful - offering great service and amazing food. Absolutely worth it!
Nashville chicken was not great, Ive had much better fried chicken locally. Steak was poorly done, especially for the price. No sides with the steak, and no warning from the server that it would come without sides. French fries were actually really good. Beef dip was good. Could be a lot better.
Thank you to Komal for making our time at Hotel X a pleasant and memorable experience!
Not very good. Stale food and a bit rancid. Manger was concerned and removed all items from the bill. Service and staff were excellent, but cannot overcome the poor quality of the food. More a Dennys. One than a better restaurant.
V was very personable and a very great server! Best of the best! Give this man a raise! This is just a pit stop for him on his journey to greatness! Thank you V we will be back! And we need you as our server! Great food and excellent service!
Had brunch at Roses today; our experience was elevated by our lovely server, V. He was genuinely friendly & attentive; he provided us with exceptional service. When I said I didn t know how to pronounce my meal choice, he knew right away it was huevos rancheros! I asked for the eggs to be overcooked; as he approached our table with our meals, he noticed that they were jiggling, & took it back to the kitchen without me even having to request that. V has a warm & friendly smile & Roses is fortunate to have him. Thank you V, & all the best to you! (By the way, the coffee & food were both delicious! My husband Kevin enjoyed his Eggs Beny, too.)
Our server, Star, was incredible! She has guaranteed a customer in me for a lonnng time. Thanks for the stellar service, and for being you. Real is so rare, and it was so very appreciated. You rock!!! Ps. Ill be checking for that dermal top, lol.
Excellent service from Tera Lee! We had a great supper and dessert was delicious.
We had a wonderful group dinner tonight with excellent food, cocktails and impeccable service from Tara Lee.
Food and service 10/10. Tara Lee was our incredible server; prompt and efficient and just the loveliest human all around!
Was looking for a restaurant close to BMO field to have dinner before a TFC game. Hadnt heard about Roses before but gave it a try anyway. Atmosphere was great, food was delicious and service was on point. Well definitely be back.
Starr made my experience here so memorable. I will recommend this place to everyone. She knows the menu really well and made us feel so welcomed and cared for. Genuinely such a nice day spent.
Living far away, I wanted to send a bottle of sparkling wine to my sister who had lunch reservations at Roses Social. Mansi, the manager, was incredibly helpful throughout the process. She ensured that the delivery went off without a hitch, communicating with me promptly over email. When I called to confirm the delivery, the woman who answered the phone was equally kind and reassuring, confirming that the bottle had indeed arrived. Its rare to find such exceptional customer service, and it truly made all the difference. My sister loved the surprise, and I am so grateful to Roses Social for helping me create a memorable moment despite the distance. Highly recommend this restaurant for their outstanding service and attention to detail!
Great spot right inside the hotel. We ve been back here every night so far.
Service is inattentive. Will not be recommending.
This is a GREAT choice if you re looking for an incredible brunch with beautiful views and good service. This was our last meal in Toronto before heading back to the States and I couldn t have asked for a better meal. I ordered the French omelette but requested half as much of the mushrooms/truffles and to add bell peppers and kale to it instead highly recommend if you re not a huge fungus fan. :) My friend got the burrata salad which was flavorful and delicious. We shared the pancakes which were unique and incredibly tasty. I recommend getting the toppings on the side so you can customize the proportions of each. I ve never topped pancakes with granola before but turns out it s a great call! The service was overall good I had to flag someone down a couple of times but it was fairly easy to do. They also validate hotel parking which was extremely helpful. And, very importantly, the bathrooms were nice. Coffee is refillable, the presentation/plating was beautiful, the views were lovely, the vibe was sophisticated, and the food was clearly fresh and made to order. We were both completely full and satisfied by the time we left perfect note on which to end our time in Toronto! Will definitely be back.
We were here preconcert Budweiser stage, August 15/24 around 3 oclock and had drinks. Decided on a light late lunch. I had Roses Chopped salad, amazing, crunchy with a twist of spicy dressing, I give it a 5 star. My husband had Nashville Hot Crispy Chicken with a hot kick. We were so pleased with this surprise meal. We recommend you order when youre here. Julian was a fine host and server.
Beautiful view, amazing service, good food and make sure you take advantage of the bottomless drinks!!!! We had a BALLLLLLL. Great for groups!!!!
Its a restaurant in a five-star hotel so automatically theres a certain expectation that they have to meet. Sadly only the prices were in line with that expectation. The server did not follow up at all with either the drink order or the food. The latte my wife ordered was delivered without any sugar, and after asking somebody they brought sugar cubes but there was no spoon anywhere to mix it in. The bread to go with her burrata salad only arrived halfway through the meal, and no sign of any butter anywhere. Trying to flag somebody down always took a while. My huevos rancheros had entire chunks of jalapenos including seeds which was far too spicy for my liking but I can accept maybe thats my fault for not asking first. The portion size was also quite small for a brunch menu item. Overall my opinion is that the servers have gotten complacent because theyre used to getting large tips regardless of the quality of service, what with it being in an expensive hotel and the tip machine offering 18% as the minimum setting.
Bad tasting coffee, runny eggs, undercooked Bacon, food wasn t what I ordered. The waiter then ignored me until it was time to pay. Never asked if the food was good or even if it was what I had ordered. They had like 100 empty tables in that place and they decided to sit two families on either side of me while I was trying to enjoy a quiet breakfast. Nothing about this was a good experience. Would NOT recommend.
Overpriced MOLDY food. There are better Breakfast options at the airport! Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else
Not sure how this restaurant can continue with the staff they have. Absolutely no clue how to run a restaurant. Wait staff were running circles aimlessly and so was management. All the tables were talking about how awful their experience was going and we were warned at while waiting to be seated. 30mins for drinks, missing entrees, and food all came at once after we had different courses so most food was cold just sitting. Guest were just going to the bar to order their own drinks because wait staff wasn t getting drinks. Restaurants falling behind is a normal occurrence but hospitality and how you respond to guest is can t also be mismanaged. I honestly don t think they all knew what they were doing and need desperate training.
Hosted several lunches here as part of an event and appreciated the service and accommodation!
good food, wack management.
Great location for dinner or drinks before a Budweiser Stage concert. Nice atmosphere, food choices and quality is quite good, but many items are overpriced. 3 hour free parking in hotel garage is nice, just be aware if youre going to Budweiser Stage you will be over the 3 hr limit and have to pay full price for parking.
Some of the drinks are quite pricey, but so so so worth it!
It may be a great day for motorcar racing here at the Toronto Indy, but its also a great day for a wonderful breakfast at Roses in Hotel X!
I absolutely loved the menu at Roses Social. The Roses Chopped was incredibly delicious, and the Lobster Roll I had on a different day was just as mouth watering. Staying at a hotel with such fantastic food, great views, and a wonderful atmosphere is truly important. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be returning to dine here again.
Everything we had was scrumptious very very tasty food & table service was excellent. We will for sure return
Our waitress was more interested in her phone and talking to her friends visiting at another table than to bother returning to check on us. Took the order wrong, but we rolled with it. Food was pretty good, but thankfully other staff picked up where our inked server fell down. Regular hotel visitor but not interested in returning here
We enjoyed breakfast twice here during our weekend stay.
would give zero stars if possible. had a reservation for tonight at 7:45. the hostess greeted us by telling us she couldn t seat us because they re understaffed?! the most insane experience. never been turned away from a reservation like this. awful service.
Last Friday, we marked the culmination of our big project with a celebration, but encountered some serious issues. Despite nearly succumbing to frustration, I managed to regain composure. Our order included main dishes and Caesar salads with shrimp. Unfortunately, the steak, ordered medium rare, arrived overcooked too much. Both the salmon and shrimp emitted a concerning odor. Though tempted to voice my dissatisfaction, I hesitated, not wanting to disrupt the positive atmosphere with my coworkers. One coworker suffered from diarrhea nearly all night, improving only by the afternoon. Eventually, another coworker noted an odd smell emanating from the steak. My suspicion is that they are indifferent to such concerns. To avoid ruining your day, I advise against dining there.
Julian was amazinggg. Good communication, attentive and great customer service!!
We were a few minutes late for our reservation but the staff gladly accommodated us and manager Harshit was super patient and let us stay to enjoy our Valentines Day meal well past closing when we were the only ones remaining in the restaurant. Food and drinks were absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much and well definitely be back! Highly recommended!
Stayed at the hotel as a local while my place was being renovated. Had a great experience checking out this hidden gem. The service was excellent and would definitely recommend to visitors or locals alike.
Went for the bottomless mimosas/drinks brunch, was very worth the $48 because we had at least 5 drinks. Had a really attentive and helpful server. Ordered the Southern Benny and it was really good. Would come here again!
Was very disappointed in the service at this restaurant. Had to get up multiple times during dinner there for service, & once again at breakfast. Both times we went it was slow, not busy. We spent around $450 for dinner and breakfast, they offered to make it up to us with a $100 credit. That doesn t go very far in a Toronto restaurant, keep in mind you also have to pay for hotel parking $35. Once again just disappointed even when they had a chance to redeem themselves the bar just wasn t met. I recommend just going to a diner for great food and excellent service. Help the family owned restaurants, they have heart.
This was the worst Winterlicious dining experience. Their reviews and pictures looked great but our experience was far from picture perfect and we will not return after this visit. We had a reservation for Sunday at 11:30am. We arrived at 11:26am with no one to greet us at receiving desk and we stood there as staff went about their day without ever, not one person making eye contact with us or acknowledge us. 5 mins went by before I could get anyone a attention and before I could say I have a reservation, I was told to sit anywhere you like . This made it feel like I walked into a diner, not a hotel resto. As we looked around for a free table we noticed many of the empty tables still had dirty dishes and cups so our options were limited. We did manage to find a table but it took us to flag down someone for a menu. The server brought out their regular menu and I had to ask for the Winterlicious one (note- I made a mention of this in my open table reservation so if they had checked in me through that when we arrived, they would have seen this). We placed our orders at 11:45am. Since we sat down, a larger group got seated next to us. They got their plates served before even water came to our table . At 12:15pm I flagged down our server for an update. Within minutes our starter salads arrived. My kale Caesar was beautifully presented with a generous portions of smoked bacon as described in the menu. The only problem was that there was way too much dressing mixed in and it was extremely salty. After 2 bites I had to ask them to remake the salad. 28 mins later they brought me my salad but no dressing on the side as I asked and no bacon . Before I could even tell the server she hurried away. I flagged the server and she brought me a small dish with dressing and bacon (cut up regular bacon) on the side. She again hurried away so I had to flag her down again. Another 8 mins go by and finally I was served a plate of rubbery pieces of fat that looked like it was trimmed off some other dish there was no meat on these things and I had to flag down a floor manager to express my concerns with how things had gone down just with my starter. Not to mention they didn t prepare my eggs as I had requested. Food aside from bacon tasted fine. But it was mind boggling how they kept brining out different types of bacon each time? Mistakes happen but it s as though the kitchen didn t know or want to correct the issue by serving what s supposed to be in their kale Caesar salad. The manager was apologetic and empathetic. He listened to my frustrations well and did rectify the situation and did comp my meal. Their prix fixe lunch was priced at $41. I ll say that my friend didn t encounter any issues with her order/food and did thoroughly enjoy her meal. We left the resto at 1:32pm. The whole ordeal lasted 2hrs and we even asked for our desserts to be packed up to go because service was really slow. Overall unpleasant experience with service, food (bacon issue) and parking. Not worth the trouble. Tip- when they validate your parking ticket they hand write down the time you go in (valet person did this in the garage) and the restaurant write your out time by hand. When we were leaving the garage the valet person asked to see our receipt from the restaurant (which my friend did not take with her). We asked if this person can call up Roses to confirm and she said no. She expected us to go up to the restaurant and retrieve the receipt when this was not clearly communicated to us when we arrived. There was no event happening in early Feb around the area. She saw us 2hrs prior and Roses manager validated our ticket but that wasn t enough. My friend ended up pulling up her pending transaction on her baking app to prove to the valet attending we dined at Roses. Parking: 3hr parking validation available if you dine at one of their restaurants, green P is not exactly walking distance from the hotel
Great food! Nice atmosphere. Fantastic service- thank you Marie-Eve!
Stayed at Hotel X. Tried to go to Roses for breakfast twice, not successful either time. Non existent service. The first time was told it would be 1 hour wait for any food (there we 3 tables with people) next time was seated and waited 20 min, no one came by, no greeting, no coffee, basically no service. Gave up and went off site for remaining days of my stay. Looks to be suffering from a desperate lack of staff. Would expect more from a supposed 5 star hotel? Not recommended.
The only thing holding up this review is the Amazing Eggs Benedict! Our server was really nice as well. Honestly some of the worst quity of service I have ever gotten. We ordered coffee, eggs Benedict, and a salad. The coffee came immediately instead of with the brunch. Then it took more than half an hour or more to get our food. When the food came it was cold Again, amazing eggs Benedict even if it was cold. I would give this place a try but expect extremely long wait times. Even though it was not packed, we had to wait too long for our cold food.
I didn t check properly but came 9:30 didn t realize they closed at 10pm but staff was very accommodating and let us stay till we finished which was nearing 11pm 10/10
Tried this restaurant for the first time this weekend for Winterlicious. The restaurant was very busy, but service was warm and attentive. The chopped salad appetizer was beautiful and tasty. And I really enjoyed the fish entree. The server selected a mocktail for me that was delicious. We enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Totally perfect from the food to service i remember my server star was perfect recommended a perfect breakfast and lunch alll around good vibes plus she was super cute and energetic
Wonderful restaurant, food is always amazing! Service was fun and personal
Been there more than once. Food was fantastic. Service was great I would highly recommend.
Winterlicious menu was so delicious! Shrimp cocktail with huge shrimp and a yummy cocktail sauce. Steak cooked to perfection with a creamy pepper sauce and their famous French fries. For desert, a key lime tart and my friend had the skillet brownie which was so decadent! Loved the meal! Loved the service! Loved the atmosphere! This restaurant never disappoints, always a great place to eat.
Great night out with the ladies this night. Came to Roses for their winterlicious menu, however some additions were added and the food did not disappoint. Drinks and service were good as well.
Starr was a fantastic server. She really took care of us and made our experience really fun. We came in for brunch before checking into Hotel X, and it was the perfect start to our stay. The food was delicious and the cocktails even more so. Highly recommend this spot for brunch. The service is excellent, the meals are tasty, and the Toronto city skyline views are beautiful. Thank you again, Starr, for making our experience awesome!
We were given the most wonderful experience by Harshit. He was very attentive and had an exceptional service. Food is amazing and the staff are very friendly.
First time visiting Rose Social located in Hotel X Toronto. Not sure because we visited in Christmas Day, hotel is very quiet and underground parking has no cars. The underground parking elevator took me directly to second floor when the restaurant located. Upon arrival, it is quite empty! We sat down quickly and ordered French Omelette and Supreme Pancakes. French Omelette with black truffle mushroom is very good in portion, except a bit lack of flavors, we have to ask for salt and pepper. The pancakes on the other hand has a wow factor! It is soft inside and crispy outside, with cream and berry sauces. Wonderful lunch for us, but don t know why it is quiet.
Food was average . Service was okay too . Atmosphere was good . Good place for brunch
The burger is a MUST!!
If I could give more stars, I would! Roses Cocina is a dream for food enthusiasts. The flavors dance on your palate, and the friendly staff make you feel right at home.
Great dish.
Yesser
Overall, if its not located in a 5-star hotel, I feel like I am eating in McDonalds. Like we got forgotten by all the stuff in this place. This is by far the worst service I have ever had in Toronto. The thing is not the service itself, its about you getting treated differently than others. 10 mins of waiting for ordering, people who came after us got the service first (Nice logic). After ordering, no one ever came to the table, no water, no coffee refill. Meanwhile, both tables next to us got treated properly. (Or everyone else got treated properly) Holding hands for 10 mins and nobody even noticed, good job for making me feel embarrassed. Separate bill got the wrong items, food was average, signature dish lobster was out of stock(on Sunday? Really?) Was about to give 1 star, 2 star is for the dude came at the end, its a credit for him. No tips were charged, since theres no service, I guess thats what it supposed to be.
Food dudes nailed it with this one! Im a regular, and its amazing every time! Food
We ended up here after dinner downtown with our teenage kids on New Years Eve. We were looking to have dessert and hoped to find a great spot to watch the fireworks... boy did we ever luck out! We had the best experience, super friendly staff, and incredible desserts and drinks! They made it so much fun for our kids with the great party favours and balloons and I had a complimentary glass of bubbly at midnight. The view of the fireworks from both the outside terrace and inside restaurant was great. The entrees looked amazing as well at the table beside us. We loved this place so much that we tried to book for dinner next NYE but they arent taking reservations this far out. What a great find and wonderful way to spend NYE! Highly recommend.
All the food was delicious but the burger did something for my soul.
Came here for brunch with my friends, Love the decor and the vibe of this place, so cute!
Food was super tasty, the service was attentive and friendly. Manager on duty (I believe his name was Andre?) went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time.
My friends were staying in the hotel and we came here to have dinner. Didnt know what to expect because Ive never heard of this restaurant but Im SO glad we came. The food was amazing! I could eat that lobster roll over and over again.
Good food, nice people and warm atmosphere. Simple and delicious, will be back.
A bit costly, but hey, its in a hotel. I loved it and will return
Huevos Rancheros and Lobster Brioche are both amazing. I ate here 3x during a conference. Awesome atmosphere, I would love to see what they would do with a dinner menu. Even the coffee is clearly premium and prepared by someone who cares. Was the perfect breakfast stop before busy workdays on the second floor of the (super cool) Toronto X Hotel.
Went there for winterlicious. The atmosphere and server were great. The food is pretty good as well. However the salmon not that juicy, maybe it just doesn t suit my preference.
The service was excellent but I personally think the main dish was just fine and I expected something better. The appetizers was amazing, I always order chips and cheese at Mexican restaurants and this one is the best i had so far. I think this place would be much more amazing for lunch than dinner.
For me it was representing hotel food, nothing really special about it, our server was super nice but the food was just ok , we went for brunch and food in general didnt look that fresh, (salad and fruit plate specifically) it was our first time to try but we may go back only for drinks, it should be a great spot for the guests of the hotel X but has not much to offer for locals with so many great options around the city.
Wonderful evening!! My husband said it was the best burger he had ever eaten. Chopped salad was fresh and delicious as was the chicken!! Staff was very attentive and the service was excellent We look forward to returning Parking: Lots of parking in the hotel and the restaurant validated parking!
It s a decent restaurant but I wouldn t say that it s exceptional at any level other than the fact that it s at Hotel X. For the marketing done for this restaurant I expected food to taste a lot more authentic and flavourful. Not sure why Canadian wines listed on the menu are priced as if they are Amarones or Brunellos. The ambiance is nice, service is ok but to be honest that s all you re paying for.
Went for Winterlicious ($41 lunch) and left extremely full. Its now 5 hours later and were still stuffed. Best value of anywhere weve tried for Winterlicious, and some of the best salads (Chopped & Quinoa) weve ever had anywhere. Huevos Rancheros was an interesting take on the dish - a black bean stuffed tortilla, topped with eggs & quac. Ordering off the brunch menu, our 3-course meals wouldve come to $55 and $68. Well definitely be back, but maybe for a couple of a-la-carte items!
This would have been a 5 star as the Winterlicious menu was delicious and the wait staff outstanding - wish I had got their names ! All 5 of us our enjoyed the visit and the meal! Given we are coming from Mississauga and we do not have go right into downtown to enjoy a super meal we will be back. The 4 star is because although we had a reservation for 5 we were given a table for 4 with an additional seat placed on the end without the proper table setting (squeezed between 2 other tables). When I asked the manager for a larger table he said nothing else was available as they were expecting a larger group. Not 5 minutes later the larger table was split in two for a group of 4 and 5. The manager knew I was annoyed and did not check in at all during the meal as he with other tables. So frustrating start to the meal but as I said the food and wait staff more than made up for it. Thanks to them for a super evening
Winterlicious menu was a good deal and was quite delicious - and we left very full with a bit leftover. Salad was delicious (which is an accomplishment) and the lobster club was incredible. Large chunks on lobster that wasn t overpowered by salt, sauces etc that often happens at other places. The margarita cheesecake was light and tangy while the chocolate pecan pie was rich and sweet (but came a bit frozen and very hard to cut). Service was great until the end where I was charged for a breakfast sandwich I had requested to go at the end but the sandwich wasn t delivered (and nowhere near ready). I m glad I checked the bill and caught that, otherwise it would ve been the wrong bill. Taking a star off for this reason.
Increíble experience. Food was a perfect 10. Staff very friendly and attentive. Thank you Andres for your hospitality. Highly recommend.
Birthday/Valentines Day celebration. The food was awesome. Santiago gave us the best service!
A wonderful experience, delicious food, big portions, drinks, great people and service, and a nice view over lake Ontario. Will definitely return with my family.
Great view of Lake Ontario..friendly staff and an epic burger that was phenomenal. We will be back Parking: $35 daily parking..was charging Tesla and its a very high-speed charger... ..go to Roses restaurant, have an amazing Burger and get your $35 parking compensated by Roses. Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu, same portions as Main menu, except price is significantly less.
I do not remember having a better hamburger. And I have had a lot of burgers from good quality restaurants.
An ok place. Nothing bad other than Toronto price for food which is to be expected sadly. Food bland and was cold. Did like fingerlings. Again just ok
Service was fantastic...waitress we had was going non stop...sorry I didnt get her name a true asset to this place
Visited for winterlious. Food was great. Staff was great Location was great Overall I will return and will recommend
Great views of Lake Ontario
Came here today at 10:30am for breakfast with my partner and was unfortunately told there will be no more pancakes for the rest of the day. Very disappointing because usually Hotel X has the best pancakes and odd that none is available in the middle of breakfast service. We ended up choosing an alternative we both didn t want.
Absolutely amazing bottomless brunch! All of the food was so fresh and flavourful! My favourites were the pancakes and the huevos rancheros for sure! Will 100% be coming back!
Most overpriced place Ive ever been. Half a butternut squash..roasted...with some drizzle of sauce on it. 27.00. Are you for real?
Went there for brunch with a group of friends. The staff who greeted me was also the server. He was really nice, took and hung my jacket and placed my big stroller somewhere out of the way. I was with a group of five. I ordered the southern Benny and it was okay. I felt that the fingerling potatoes were under seasoned, had gotten cold by the time they gave it to me and even a bit hard. The salad it camewith has a very spicy dressing. I love spice but this offered no relief, it was just oddly spicy for a salad. The poached eggs were also quite cold and perhaps if it was served hot it would ve been better. It took a while to get a coffee refill. The meal I had was about 2.5 - 3/5 . It s a nicely designed, spacious restaurant in a nice hotel.
Great food, super friendly staff
Food was amazing! Pancakes were super delicious along with the lobster benedict. Overall 10/10, service was good as well and the ambiance is great!
A beautiful venue experience thanks to the Yelp Elite community. This time we got to check out Roses Covina at Hotel X. It overlooks Lake Ontario and also provides scenic views of the Toronto skyline. The ambience is elegant and the service and hospitality has been so promptly and courteous. We started with the Bay Scallop Ceviche and the Roses Chopped Salad and got served bread and honey butter. The bread and honey butter had such a distinct taste that was quite memorable and paired really nicely. Between the two starters, the Bay Ceviche was really nicely flavoured. The chicken itself was also presented wonderfully and had a nice mild seasoning to it. The dessert also has a nice tangy sweet taste. Parking was complimentary but does have a charge and was easy to navigate. Overall it was a pleasant experience however I am not sure what the standout culture is here. There were some Tex Mex options however I didnt get the complete range of it, I felt there could be more Tex next options.I got a more modern feel of the restaurant. Its a nice spot to visit if you are near the waterfront and looking for a casual, affordable and elegant ambience.
Looking for a Tex-Mex culinary experience? Be sure to visit this restaurant inside Hotel X at 111 Princes Blvd. Great selection of tequila, signature cocktails and wine list. The menu has gluten free and vegetarian options. Great wrap around views of Lake Ontario. #datenight #texmex #6ixeats Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and gluten free options available
We had an amazing time at the Yelp Elite Experience! The restaurant location in Hotel X was easy to park + find. The decor has such a great vibe and we were welcomed immediately. We sat at a great booth and our server Mackenzie was awesome! We ordered the regular Yelp Elite menu and one of each cocktails. Super pretty drinks (presentation was great!) We enjoyed the scallops ceviche, roses salad (this was our FAV), half chicken (we d probably skip that in future) and we skipped the cheesecake. We also ordered a couple of other appetizers that caught our eye (and because we love to support businesses on these events!) SO happy we did because our add-ons were the Queso and Tuna Tartare. This was among our fav events to date! We also tried a tequila flight (a MUST do!) + desserts to go (pecan pie + crème brûlée etc) The restaurant was clean, lighter music, comfortable + we ll definitely return. Thanks for having us!
The cocktails were great. I am not a fan of seafood, so my husband got to enjoy most of the appetizer. Both of us thought the dressing was way too sour. They shouldve balanced it with something sweet. The salad was great and we loved the cojita cheese. There was some crunchy stuff on top of the salad which was amazing! Main course - the half chicken couldve been better. The service was way too slow, and maybe thats why the chicken was cold by the time it was brought to us. Our waitress forgot to get the tortillas with it. We asked her and then she brought it to us. The margarita cheesecake was pretty good, especially the buttery crunchy sides. Overall, there is room for improvement! Do walk around the Hotel X. And also go to the terrace to enjoy the views of Toronto and Etobicoke! Pretty spectacular to sunset.
$100+ for two If you re looking for a fine-dining experience for your next outing with your partner or colleagues, you might want to check out Roses Cocina at Hotel X. It serves high-end Tex-Mex food which includes chef-designed appetizers and mains and unique cocktails. I was here with my partner for a Yelp-Elite sponsored dinner. Was thoroughly amused by their signature cocktails - both taste and presentation-wise. Recommend both Sayulita and Roses Signature drinks. In starter, we had Hot Queso - it s like that comforting cheese fondue except this had nacho chips and tortillas to go along with warm cheese. Loved it. Next, in salads we had Roses Chopped and Butternut Squash in mains. Roses Chopped was very refreshing and I liked minimal flavouring. Butternut Squash could be avoided as it neither feels like a complete dish nor it feels balanced in taste, however that leaves you with no other vegetarian option in mains. Margarita Cheesecake in desserts was a delight, especially for people who like tartiness in their desserts. Follow @mygourmetaffair on IG for more such finds.
Food was good. I truly enjoyed my burger and my fries were so much. But the drink I had was to die for.
Located on the second floor of Hotel X, Roses Cocina is a modern North American restaurant with a Tex-Mex-inspired menu, drawing influences from worldwide trends. I got to experience Roses Cocina thanks to Yelp Toronto as a Yelp Elite Experience. We went with the non-vegetarian set menu which included: - Sayulita - Roses signature - House bread with honey butter - Bay scallop ceviche - Roses chopped - Half chicken - Margarita cheesecake My favs: - If you love Moscow mules, the Sayulita was my preferred drink of the two options! - The honey butter that came with the bread was *chef s kiss* - I am a salad fan and this one was so creamy and a great side to the chicken - The cheesecake was my fav! Super creamy with that citrus margarita flavour A big thank you to Roses Cocina for the hospitality and to Yelp Toronto for organizing this wonderful event! :)
I came here with a Yelp event! We had a later reservation at 8:45pm, food seems to be hit or miss, and the service got slow towards the end. However, I think this restaurant has potential! Our fave throughout the whole meal was definitely the hot queso. It was super cheesy and the tortilla chips were perfectly salted and crunchy. We were glad we decided to order it in addition to the regular set menu (put together through Yelp) because almost everything else was just okay: * Drinks - we had one of each, and didnt love either but the Sayulita was better than the Roses Signature. * Chopped Salad - it was our second fave dish, and we were pleasantly surprised with the different components in this salad which made it exciting - creamy sauce, chopped romaine, and especially the cheese. my main comment is that the flavours could be stronger. * Half Chicken had no flavour and was very dry! This was very disappointing and I barely ate it. * Scallop Ceviche is one of my favourite things, but this dish was missing something. My boyfriend thought that it was too sour, but I felt it was lacking in that acidic citrus flavour that is essential to ceviche. I also think that it was lacking balance and the scallops tasted too fishy. * Margarita Cheesecake was not our favourite - maybe it was the alcohol that gave it a strange taste that we didnt love. Parking: pay for hotel parking
Great experience at Roses sadly they were out of lobster when we went, however the other options were good as well! We had bottomless cocktails at first they said you had to stick to one kind but the server let us switch around, which made it worth it! Our server was knowledgeable and they even brought us Prosecco to celebrate a friend.
The views are fantastic of Lake Ontario and Ontario Place. The restaurant seating is a mix of bar space and tables with some offering bench seating. The restaurant is on second floor but you can access second floor from elevator. The servings are large! Much bigger than expected. The food came super fast - timing was off needed more time to finish appetizer. The fries are crisp and salty. The tuna tartare appetizer had a nice touch of spice and the chips they served with it were homemade and super fresh. The braised short rib was 10/10 - we left completely satiated and happy with our choices. The staff were all very friendly and we will come back! Great venue pre-show at Ontario Place. Parking: Underground Kid-friendliness: Lots on the menu to accommodate all Wheelchair accessibility: Access via elevator
If I could give 0 stars I would. We made a reservation for 1.45 knowing than the brunch ended at 2pm. And the hostess told us that they will not be serving the brunch anymore. Lunch menu is an absolute joke with only 2 main items on. Will not be coming back.
Very disappointing experience!!! We made a reservation at 1:30pm today and they had us waiting for about 20mins to place the order and finally when someone came to get our order, was told the brunch is no longer served (at 2:10pm) and took away the menu given to us and gave us a smaller menu, which literally had 2 main (Lobster club and cheese burger) out of which lobster was SOLD OUT, which left us no option but to go with cheeseburger and the cheap fries that came along with it. People don t make reservations to come eat very regular style cheeseburger here and the waitress was not even ready to check with the kitchen after we requested if they can still make some brunch menu items for us even after expressing my disappointment about the service. Please note, people don t come to restaurent like yours for not just food but also experience! Please learn from some of the other restaurants out there who go above and beyond to to make sure customers have a great time dining there! Overall: Terrible experience + below avg food.
Food was great, service was frustrating. We were asked to put our group of 10 on one bill (which was fine), we watched 4 tables come and go before our orders were taken, multiple drink orders forgotten, and many menu items had either changed or were unavailable but was not mentioned initially so we were left to order from a menu of very few options.
Vegetarian options: Got the butternut squash and it was delicious! The best server ever is in this restaurant and his name is Santiago ! Food
Comfort food that is gourmet. I enjoyed my Lobster and Shrimp roll. The fries were thin and had a nice crisp to it. My friend is a vegetarian and was happy with her Butternut Squash Main. Service was impeccable. Attentive and willing to please. We especially liked Santiago. He went out of his way to makes us have the best experience.
Loved bottomless mimosa special. You have the options to choose from 4 different drinks.
I love this place, everything is so beautiful The service is excellent and the food was amazing.
A convenient place t have breakfast while staying at the Hotel X. Good service and food. Recommended
Such a fun place! Me and my friend went there for dinner. Very nice environment. Amazing food, thanks to chef. Our server Starr were very rush & rude to finish our table. If you are looking for quieter than downtown and luxury highly recommended!!!
OVERRATED! STAY HOME !!! If you plan to come for amazing food, DON T! You re better off cooking at home or going to your favorite food spot. the place is cute and that s all you re coming for if you re not staying at the hotel it s connected to. Nice aesthetics for pictures Bacon was drenched in oil, eggs didn t even have the cheese mixed in it. I ordered the KALE romaine casar salad SPECIFICALLY FOR THE KALE !!!!! no kale in my dish and the Caesar dressing tasted like ranch ! Overpriced, bland, greasy, distasteful, false menu descriptions.
Beautiful place, food was pretty good, but THE SERVICE. Went for my birthday at 12pm Sunday brunch. My party all got bottomless with their meal. Our server seemed as if he had never served a table in his life. Never checked in, we had to flag him down to order anything. Our drinks came at a MINIMUM of 15-20 minutes. We had to order our next drink when a drink arrived and he would forgot what we ordered or even that we ordered multiple times. So disappointing. Do not recommend.
Our brunch was very underwhelming. I was waiting at the reception desk for almost 5 minutes by the time someone came to seat me. It was another 20 minutes until someone brought us water and took our order. We didnt get drink menus, and the drink list on the website is not accurate, so we got paper menus, but it was another 15 minutes for someone to take our orders. My mimosa, served in a red wine glass was the saddest looking one ever. Others enjoyed their drinks more. Food was alright, the cheddar crunchy potatoes are very tasty, my French omelet was okay. Our bills got messed up at the end. If its not for the price point and the expectation, it would probably be 3*, but it was a very disappointing experience.
Saw the Bottomless brunch online and had to check it our for myself. I was not disappointed, it has amazing value.
I saw that roses was a brunch spot on social media but when i went to check out their website I saw they had a great dinner menu. Went in for dinner last week and it did not disappoint. My favourite was the lobster roll.
Vegetarian options: Veggie options are available but the portion size is relatively small as compared to non-veggie options. Food
Came here before a concert and was able to sit on their super cute patio over looking lakeshore. Great drinks and snacks. Will come back for dinner one day!!
Service is absolute trash. Asked 3 times for orange juice and the server never executed, I had to ask another employee
Huevos rancheros was incredible! Service was very slow. Nice atmosphere, cute for girls get together.
Amazing service and delicious food.
The roses signature cocktail was my favourite ( how do they make the ice cube??) The decor was ecstatically pleasing with beautiful pieces around the room. Very impressed.
Food was great but the pancakes were not fluffy and they were dry. Everything else was good, we also ordered the lobster roll which was really good. The service however, was not good. It was good until ordered and then our server was never to be found again. We asked for a coke refill and it never came, also the coke was $4 for one cup which is 100% ice, and refills are not free, which we were not told about. I got up to get the coke from the bar myself, and we had coffees and waters which were also never refilled. We then waited 40 minutes for him to bring our bill.
Delicious food, friendly staff.
THE RIBS, and spicy mac. Match made in heaven.
Wonderful service and conversation. Recommend. Staff are lovely to talk to.
Great food and service.
Like the atmosphere and food. However, compared to their prices, the food is not that great, also the coffee and beverages are expensive as well. The servers were kind but were to busy to check on us. I was there on a Sunday, it was busy and they seemed to be short staffed.
We sat at the bar after a horrid experience at the roof top restaurant. 830pm on Sunday/ June/ 18th. Chelsea the bartender(think thats her name) took great care of us. Fantastic drinks and good service. Thank you!
Love this place. Always greeted with a warm welcome and served fresh delicious meals.
Food was great!!!
Located on the 2nd floor of the Hotel X, this restaurant had the potential to provide an excellent dining experience. We were promptly seated, but waited 15mins for our sever to take our drink order followed by another 15mins to take our food order. The Tuna Tartare was out of stock that evening so we ordered the Lobster and Shrimp roll which was buttery and tasty but not filling. The Spicy Macaroni was overpriced for being served in a small side dish and had little spice to it. Overall service was slow and our server never checked on us after taking our order. We decided to forgo another round of cocktails and dessert and kindly asked another server for our bill as ours was absent. We left disappointed.
After being seated for our reservation, we waited 30 minutes for service and never got any. Maybe it was a busy night, but be prepared - at least for your reservations.
Tried to get there before 2, but due to the road closures, we ended up dining for the 2 -5 mid day menu . Menu items are small, but nonetheless, the good was flavorful and appetizing. We started off with drinks. We had mock tails . 2 options. Lost in the Grove and spice 94 highball. Lost in the Grove was sweet and subtle. But my girlfriend and I really enjoyed the spice 94 Highball. We liked the taste of the ginger, and the spice was just right. We ordered another glass of spice 94 . Took a while to get the waiter to notice us . Even when the restaurant wasnt busy. When I got the server to notice us . It seems like the order was not communicated through because it took a long time for the 2nd drink to come in. 2nd time, we had to confirm if it was coming, and it seemed like we had the manager come by to confirm if everything was okay , we just wanted to order a 2nd drink it was really good! We both had a chopped salad with shrimp. Its very summery and savory. The shrimp was super meaty and large. Would recommend ! And we ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich and burger. Both are really good. Cant go wrong with both. It just depends if youre looking for chicken or beef . Despite the loss in communication with prdering a second drink. The restaurant was great. And food was just as good too. Just wished we got there for the brunch menu as we were looking forward to going into roses coccina!
The service was absolutely garbage. And even though the food we ordered was amazing, the service was so bad that we couldn t enjoy our food. We came for an evening snack and dessert and only ended up eating the snack because we were so disappointed. The server was rushing us to leave. The restaurant wasn t busy and they had just welcomed two large parties. We did not get a refill on our water even though we asked 2x. We asked for additional tortilla 2x. And we were only halfway through our tuna tartar when another waitress came and tried to take it away because our dessert was ready . We decided to leave the dessert and go somewhere else with our money.
Stayed at HotelX for the first time this week, visited Roses onsite for a quick bite before a concert. Ordered the Cheeseburger - lacked any seasoning/flavor - what s worse is that two bites in, I noticed the burger still had traces of pink, which is an absolute no for me with ground beef, waited for a 2nd burger well done, which was still undercooked & had traces of pink. Didn t end of eating. Very disappointing.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly Food
Stopped by to see if they were still serving coffee when they were closing up, and the lovely bartender/barista graciously made me one. So grateful!
Fantastic
Overrated cost way too much the service was atrocious, food came cold and took more then an hour to recieve , 8 ppl
Roses is that hidden gem you dont know about, but you need to visit. Nestled away on the 2nd floor of Hotel X, roses has an amazing brunch and dinner program that will blow you away. Whether its the fried chicken sandwich, the heuvos rancheros, or the drinks, Roses Cocina has something for everyone and you should definitely give this place a shot
Stayed at Hotel X this weekend and made reservations for Roses Cocina (located on the 2nd floor). All 3 of us enjoyed our food and the server was fast and friendly. Would definitely recommend the Southern Benny! Ill need to come back again and try their cocktails!
Nice restaurant inside Hotel X. I had the Nashville hot chicken and the Brussels sprouts. Chicken was ok. Nothing special. The Brussels sprouts were amazing though! Peanut sauce on the bottom was delicious! Had the champagne Pina Colada which tasted good but over priced at $24. Service was a bit slow but friendly when I went early dinner time. Peach cobbler for dessert was decent as well. Wife had the tacos which she said was bland but she loved the creamed corn. Overall apps were great, mains just ok.
Located in Hotel X you would think it would be an ups ale restaurant. not really. Don t worry about dressing super fancy. Atmosphere was more like a diner. Service was quick and waiter was very friendly and attentive. Drinks were good but pricey. Food was pricey and just ok. I got the fish tacos and found it to be very bland. I ordered the cream corn on the side and it was delicious. Overall my visit was mediocre.
So under staffed them poor waiters can t keep up. Super super slow. Food is subpar at best for the pricing. I ve been 3 times now during big events and have faced the same issues each time. Really unfortunate as the restaurant is beautiful.
Went there for a friends birthday over the weekend and had an excellent time! The staff constantly made sure we had everything we needed, were very nice and welcoming, and made my friends birthday. The bottomless drinks deal was 100% worth it. Thank you to our server Anastasia, along with Justin and Star! We will be coming back!!
Amazing brunch ! Bottomless offerings were awesome. Can t wait to return
Food was delicious and fresh ! I will come back for sure !
Worst food experience Food ordered: Benedict and fired chicken sandwich. Benedict the saw the dry and flaked up. Fired chicken was overcooked and completely dry inside Food : 1/5 |
Star makes the best espresso martini! Highly recommend
Possibly one of the worst meals and dining experiences we ve ever had. The food was subpar. The servers had little to no empowerment or flair. Timing and attention to detail were way off. A complete disappointment.
I had the pleasure of hosting a mini surprise party for my daughter at Roses following an event I hosted at 10XTO. The food, the wind and the staff were amazing. Can t wait to try their lunch menu
Love this place. Been here for brunch and most recently for dinner. Service was outstanding, the food absolutely delicious and the presentation, very classy. Cocktails are perfection. Parking is available at the hotel at no cost when dining here. Highly recommend.
Eggs benedict is always my favour. I stayed in Hotel X and came here for a lunch before enjoying the spa. The poached eggs are great and out of my expectation. If you are also the eggs benedict lovers, must try this one!
Really liked the brunch. Waiters were nice. Food was super tasty. Loved the pancakes. Big enough to share.
