This place is really cute but the food is soooo good 😍this one girl took our order and she was so sweet and explained the menu to us. They made our order really quickly and they were so kind. I recommend coming here for a cozy atmosphere and a small group of people! I got the fried chicken with Nanban sauce and my dad got the Fried Shrimp bento box! Both were so yummy
Awesome Japanese street food for a great price at this little gem in Cabbagetown! Friendly service, cute vibe but definitely minimal seating. We got the original fried chicken bento, seriously so good! Crispy outside, super juicy inside, just right amount of spicy mayo. Loved the pickled ginger and edamame, makes it feel not so heavy and greasy like most fried chicken. Price is about as good as you can get in Toronto, very reasonable! Looking forward to coming back and trying more!
Just to tell you guys the truth, they are only getting 3 stars because they let me use the bathroom, it was moderately clean, but I really needed to go, so because of their kindness I decided to order something because... why the heck not... Right, I thought ok, I will have the octopus balls, and I dont care that it's 6$ and a couple of cents right??? WRONG''' it was the worst decision I have ever made, I should've just said thank you and been on my way, honestly the balls tasted like the version of a frozen beignet that was cooked in fat. Absolutely disgusting. Ah so terrible it was awful***. OMG I feel so bad for my taste buds . I definitely won't be returning to this spot, even to use the washroom.
A friend and I shared the large everything original bento and seaweed salad, which were perfect in every way. Perfectly tender deep fried chicken, takoyaki and potato croquet. Fresh and delicious! Love the cozy indoor patio vibe.
This is a hidden gem! The restaurant has a relatively small menu and limited seating. It is probably better for take out. I ordered the original everything Bento which came with rice, chicken karaage, takoyaki and potato croquette and was very happy with my choice. The portion didn't look big at first but all the fried food was quite filling. The chicken karaage was juicy and I loved the potato croquette. They also use some purple rice that has a nice flavour to it.
Cute and tiny Japanese street style restaurant located in the Cabbagetown area. We shared a Nanban Chicken Karaage Rice Bowl. It was freshly made, hot and flavourful. They serve purple rice here which I felt was a nice touch. Food is served in take out boxes even if you dine in. Overall, food was good but nothing extraordinary. It can get super hot inside on a super hot day.
Gushi Japanese Street Food offers delicious fried chicken and good value for money. I visited with my friends to see what the hype was about. From the outside, the restaurant uses a distinct colour theme of wood and brown, with a red stamp, which continued into the interior decor as well as the food packaging. I appreciated the design continuity, which added to their branding. As soon as I entered, I was hit by a strong odour of fried oil. The deep fryer was constantly churning out fried chicken pieces, and the lack of air circulation made it difficult to breathe. I got used to it quite soon though. The restaurant had a unique system of ordering, which they tried hard to make clear. Unfortunately, multiple visuals explaining the choices made it harder to figure out the price, which was troublesome. Drinks were also presented without prices. I ordered the JG Large size Chicken Karaage Curry Rice, and it was a great choice. On a bed of purple rice, there were multiple pieces of large fried chicken with curry gravy, along with green edamame beans and red pickled radish pieces to make things interesting. The chicken pieces were big and juicy, and the curry was passable, adding an additional layer of flavour to the chicken and helping me finish the rice. The large size meal was very filling, and considering the price, I would say that it had good value. The server was bright and helpful, even though our interactions were short. The only gender-free washroom in the restaurant was well-maintained and accessible through a key next to the cashier. Overall, I had a superb meal. Despite the confusing menu and poorly ventilated interior, the restaurant aims to provide great value while also being quite tasty. Due to the limited space, I would recommend take-out. I wouldn't mind coming back to try their other menu variations if I am in the area.
Tried this place on a friend's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Everything Curry Rice (Large) and were pleasantly surprised by the warm service that matched the quality and generous portions of the food. The dishes reminded me of my favorite childhood meals, bringing those memories back to life 400%. The only difference now is I can eat more! I'm not usually a curry person, but this place won me over with the perfect texture and flavors. I actually preferred this curry over Maji Curry because of its simpler flavor profile without any overwhelming complexity. (It's not as runny as Maji as well) The real star of the show was the fried chicken. We had Nanban fried chicken on the curry rice and ended up ordering another 10 pieces of fried chicken with Hot Maple and Teriyaki flavors. The teriyaki was standard and a bit on the salty side, while the Hot Maple lacked flavor and could have been stronger. However, the way fried chicken prepared is the perfect example of what fried chicken should be, regardless of whether it’s Korean or Japanese style. True classic juicy meat and fried batter that's also medium crispy while holding a bit of moisture, I wouldn't mind devouring 10-15 pieces of it myself next time. The only regret was the edamame on the curry rice. I didn’t read the menu carefully and realized there was a generous portion of edamame mixed in. For those who appreciate additional protein and flavors, this is great news! They were fresh and seemed well-cooked. But for those who struggle with soy-related issues like myself, keep this in mind. Overall, this place delivered a fantastic experience with delicious food and great service. It’s definitely worth a visit, especially for the fried chicken!
Amazing place. Highly recommended!
The employee was very nice and friendly to my friend and I :) we got the 4pc takoyaki to share. I m assuming it was freshly made since it took them around 5-10 mins to make and it was served hot/warm. We enjoyed it and our only regret is that we didn t buy more haha
Cute spot, normally the food is good but the last time I got my regular order it was slimey skin chicken and not crispy like fried chicken normally is. A little pricey but cute spot. Good mango cheesecake and friendly staff. :)
Great food. Highly recommend!
Amazing chicken! Great service! Loved Parking: Theres a few Food : 5/5 |
The food was very well priced, and the servings were generous. I got the Everything Original Bento, and the purple rice was sweet, while the takoyaki and karaage were really juicy and flavourful. Everything was perfectly fried, and clearly made right before it was served to us.
Got the original fried chicken bento and it was soo good! Wish I had discovered it earlier.
our favorite toronto karaage chicken. very juicy, crispy, delicious jasmine rice. took away one star, because out of 4 times when we had takeout, 1 time the chicken was at a 50% discount and it was not tasty at all, just breading in oil, almost no meat... I understood why there was a discount, but it was unexpected and sad
The food her is soo delicious, the stafd are really nice people. It atmosphere was enjoyable i like the art on the walls. Its also great tasting food when orded from a deliver app too.
One of the best chicken sandwiches Ive ever had. Super friendly staff and quick service. Dine in and take out. Food
I had the fried chicken on rice with delicious thinly sliced pickled radish. It tasted so good and I will be making it a regular spot. Its under $10 and a great portion.
The fried chicken and croquette were excellent. Price was reasonable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The best in Toronto...
Worth it! We had the snacks original and namban - so crispy and tasty!
Small shop, great shop. They were so lovely, even wrote a little thank you message on my takeout containers:) the food was delicious (I had Takoyaki and Dango) and Ill definitely be returning. Thanks for the great experience
Amazing people
Absolute vibes. The service is great, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is super cozy. Their music playlist is my favorite jazzy ghibli vibes Food
Definitely an authentic Japanese Street Food. One of the Best in Toronto, food is really affordable too! Original Chicken Bento, is literally 9.80+tax 3 chicken pieces is big enough to fill your stomach with rice as well!
Eaten in and take out many times, always delicious and great service. Some of the best fried chicken in the city
Very kind and attentive staffs, really good food, and very affordable price. Recommend the place to everyone.
Gushi has been consistent and delicious for years.
Amazing. You have to try!!!
Quality has been slowly going down hill. Used to be amazing and juicy.
Best chicken spot so far. We have it every Friday for dinner. The special they right now is 2 pcs chicken with rice combo. Its the bomb.
Super low key but super yummy fried chicken! Its a hidden gem.
Came in and the staff just stared at us. No greetings; not even tried to do a welcome gesture. But then perhaps they are busy so that s fine. We tried their Original chicken karaage bento and it was okay. The chicken appears to be mushy and wet. Rice is also extremely wet in texture, and they put too much spicy mayo sauce making the dish extremely in a mushy condition. Didn t enjoy that particular dish but perhaps I ll try their other dishes next time. Overall, just an okay experience. Nothing made me feel impressed or anything like that.
Great spot to pick up a quick and satisfying meal!
Great place for Japanese food... Small seating space but good vibes... The bento everything bowl was great.... The takoyaki tasted nice, the karage chicken was good .. also the rice sticky was very nice
Good Good
Bought the karrage sandwich for the hubby. He said it was pretty good, but that the chicken karrage I make him myself tastes the same. Nothing special. It was crispy, lightly battered and not oily. More of a 3.5 rather than a 4 , though. Service was great and so was the atmosphere.
I was uncertain about what to order, but the chicken dish I selected was truly delicious! Being a very picky person I can say the chicken was phenomenal by itself.
Really excellent and tasty place. Loved their fried chicken and nanban dish.
Truly one of those hidden gems type places. Prices are very reasonable and the food is flavourful. Takoyaki got a good amount of octopus meat, and the curry is very flavourful. The order to meal the around is also super quick. Food
Amazing experience, chicken in my karaage bento box was PERFECT, took about 10m but its worth it trust me.
Great price! Curry tasted flavourful.
Man that karage is goooooooood.
I asked for 5 croquettes and teriyaki meat with a coke. It was $28. Came home with 5 croquettes and 3 different sauces and a coke. Called to request my order and was argued with. This place was good but such a rip off. I highly recommend not going here. You ll be disappointed. Waste of money.
It was my first time trying this place and I loved it , the chicken was tasty, ordered the Bento box with rice and edamame and it was very good, the prices are reasonable , definitely will go back
Small space, very clean, staff extremely friendly. Food, delicious and fresh/ from scratch. Eat here now.
A very tasty experience! Recommend for a quick lunch or when youre craving fried food especially. I always get the croquette sando - salty, crispy, very delicious! - and my partner enjoys the fried chicken immensely. Good customer service, clean shop. Its a tiny store, so not especially good to sit down and eat, but the food is the type easily eaten with your hands, so dining in-store is not really a priority. Vegetarian options: They offer tofu, croquettes, and vegetarian curry.
The best in town. Nothing beats their karage in Toronto!
Always amazing
Best karaage chicken Ive ever had. Delicious curry sauce.
Cute likkle spot in my ends styll. Karaage bento is straight flames on God fam. Underrated for shure.
Im seriously unsure what happened to this place but it was really bad today. The chicken i had wasnt even remotely close to the juicy pieces of chicken that i used to get. The chicken tasted old ,extremely dry and cold. Is this what you guys do to people who get take out? You just give them old pieces? Im so disappointed
Love this place with some amazing Japanese street eats.
Great food, friendly staff, fresh and high quality. Authentic and made to order.
Excellent food with excellent service! Will be back :)
This quaint little shop serves up a variation on the standard chicken meal with chicken and rice with other fixins added onto it, and let me tell you, its very easy to get addicted so watch yourself. As far as fried chicken goes, it seems higher quality than a lot of the other fast food restaurants you go to. The care and affection is obvious as well from the moment you step in. The customer service is very friendly, and its hard not to show a business like this one my support
A hidden gem in east toronto! Was met with such kindness and hospitality, and the food was even better - truly reminiscent of my travels to Japan kaarage was so crispy and juicy, Japanese curry was sweet and savoury just like it should be, potato croquettes were creamy and nicely battered. A must go
Incredibly delicious! Staff is so nice and friendly. Space has a few tables inside, but you can always walk to Regents park and eat outside if the day is nice! 10 out of 10!
Everything tasted great but I wasn t a fan of the dark miso soup. The staff were very kind. Small space but I ll definitely be back again.
Ive meant to stop by so many times that finally today was the day. Step up at the entrance so not fully accessible. The restaurant is clean. The Staff are presentable & polite. My young male Server/Cook took my order in no time and began to prepare my Nanban Everything Meal as I sat with a nice, hot green tea. Seating is limited and the seating stools are narrow so wide spreads use caution. One table for two by the front door has wider seats :) No hooks to hang coats. The food is delicious and I finished with the Mochi trio. I would however out of personal preference order my next meal with half mayo.
Great spot for a takeout food, the OG Gushi I could eat every week , 8.8/10 keep up the great work !
I had the Gushi Original Chicken and Miso Soup, and they were AMAZING! The portions of chicken were very large even for the regular size and the purple rice that came with it was delicious! Loved the spicy mayo as well (always the cherry on top). Price point for the meal was also extremely reasonable! 10/10 definitely recommend you check this place out if you are in Cabbagetown!
Pleasantly surprised by the depth and flavour of the curry. The owner was nice enough to give us an extra piece of chicken. Takoyaki balls were crispy and fried to perfection. There was so much curry in the rice that every spoonful was flavourful. We would definitely come back again.
Awesome fried chicken. So juicey, so crispy. Lovely flavors on a bed of rice. Croquettes are classic. You cant go wrong here Vegetarian options: Lots of options Dietary restrictions: Staff can try their best to accommodate Parking: You will be parking on parliament so first come first serve Kid-friendliness: I didnt see a high chair but then again I didnt ask Wheelchair accessibility: Roll in roll out
Gushi chicken is delicious! For years Ive been ordering the regular size original recipe with half purple rice and half salad. It used to feature nice crisp lettuce but recently they switched to cabbage. Yuk! (Now I ask for edamame only.) Lately the English of the counter-staff has improved greatly, which certainly makes ordering easier (I dont speak Japanese). And with a bit of remodeling, customer space is much improved -- to the point where eating in is actually an option.
I love their fried chicken, so tasty!
All of the food here is amazingly tasty, well-portioned & great value for the money! Highly recommend
Okay, this was seriously amazing Japanese fried chicken. I had the slider and the curry and both were amazing. The chicken is sake marinated so it has a suddle sweet sake flavour, and the the crunch factor was quite dense. Not too much breading, but serious level of extra crispiness. The chicken also was well seasoned. Not too salty and you can taste everything. Definitely check this spot out if you haven t. You won t be disappointed.
Crispiest fried chicken and rich curry
Great food? Great value and nice people. :) recommended!
Rich, flavourful, best fried chicken in town! And reasonable price too!
Can t go wrong with the OG
Takoyaki and croquettes go hard (translation: are amazing)
Great tasting food!!!
Delicious but a bit too greasy. Mayo and sauce over fried chicken, fried croquettes and fried takoyaki was a bit over. Maybe could include sliced cucumbers or tomatoes to offset the oily. It may balance the nicely prepared dish. Venue is mostly take away, but would benefit from a nice clean esp from previous customers who ve not picked up after themselves. Friendly nice staff.
Best fried chicken in Toronto
Love this place so much, always a delicious and hearty meal with great service that wont break the bank. Definitely one for my neighborhood favs and highly recommend trying. :D
Have been a customer since day one. Food is consistent and good value . Kid-friendliness: If your kids like fried chicken and rice Food : 5/5 |
If I could give them a 6 star rating , I world. Amazing
Japan Curry Potato Croquette Meal is so good. Service and vibe of the place is nice too:)
Hours are ridiculous here. Closing at 8:30 is simply not acceptable.
Great Japanese street food!!
Really delicious food! The chicken and rice was so tasty. Would definitely recommend and I will definitely go again one day. Waited about 12 minutes for our food.
Love the curry fried chicken
Quick service and good food!
I had the OG Chicken Meal for lunch, which was great! Service was also friendly. You ll likely have to eat outside as spacing inside is very limited. I wish there was better seating for outside especially in hotter weather (an umbrella would help).
First time at this location! We really enjoyed their chicken and croquettes.
Just tried my first Japanese street food and it was amazing 10/10 definitely recommend anyone for any that likes fried chicken or looking for a snack to bite.
Very generous portions and fast service. Highly recommend the croquettes.
I m obsessed with this place. The karaage pieces are big and crispy but not at all dry. The purple rice is sticky and delicious. The only thing I could ask for would be more sauce/flavour options, but honestly the chicken is so good by itself with how they season it that I get why they don t have more sauces. 10/10 would recommend
Found this gem walking by, got the 3 piece fried chicken. Chicken was juicy and crispy and the sauces were amazing. Would recommend. Food : 5/5
Its a take out place rather than a restaurant. Friend staff but lacked in English. It was my first visit and had some questions on menu and I had to guess what the server was saying. Got the family combo, I had better karaage but the rest of the food was great. (love the sauce that came with) For a take out place, I thought it was lil over priced. Id check them out again if Im near the neighbourhood.
Based on the recommendations from my closest friends we were looking forward to visiting this restaurant. To my surprise the staff was not at all friendly, no hello or smile, they actually looked angry and made us felt like we shouldnt be there. We ordered the family meal and pieces of chicken, octopus balls, french fries and potato patties were fried well - light and crispy. Unfortunately, except for the french fries, everything was quite bland. The taste just didnt capture what we experienced in Japan and other parts of Asia. Overall, the biggest disappointment was really the service and the attitude by the staff. It was pretty bad and we couldnt help but wonder: Did we go to the wrong restaurant? Were they having a bad day? Are they working under oppressive conditions?
Really good food and service. The interior definitely reminds me of a small izakaya in Tokyo.
Good fried chicken. Crispy, juicy and flavor. Fair price and good service. Have been here often. Always a good lunch option
Cozy, delicious and very authentic. This reminds me of best times I had touring Japan! Definitely will be back for more Japanese street food.
Teriyaki chicken is highly recommended. Hachimi is a must try. Other items are average.
I ve been a customers for months now and the karaage is always tasty and freshly made. Not only that, the workers are always so nice and pleasant which makes the experience even more worthwhile!
Got take out, very yummy and filling. The large box is good enough for 2 people to share.
Their staff are not good. Their behavior is totality unprofessional to the customers. I went to the restaurant many times, their hygiene level is not up to the mark.
Excellent food! Some of the best chicken I ever had!
Tried the rice and chicken combo on a reccomend, absolutely phenomenal! And the people working there were awesome too!
The teriyaki sesame chicken sauce is particularly good. Theyre really friendly too!
Why is this not halal? Depriving me of this delicious chicken.
Its a definite recommend for those who want a different spin on fried chicken. Ive eaten here a few times and its been good every time.
I heard about Gushi through the Suppli reusable takeout container platform and Im so glad I did. I ordered the plant based nuggets and my partner had the OG chicken meal. We both loved it so much and will be back, next time for the fries.
I havent been back in awhile, but was in my old stomping ground neighborhood and had to have a very wonderful meal... owner / operator are wonderful people ...
I always get takeout here for work. My orders are timely and I always get it fresh while being still very warm. The chicken is nice, flavourful, moist and crispy. Its so simple but good. Definite one of my faves
My favourite spot in the neighbourhood for lunch. So good!
Had the Gushi Chicken Meal and it was awesome. Tender, juicyand full of flavor. Definitely will order from here again
BEFORE ordering I specifically asked if the chicken was breast and I was told yes, only to leave, walk home and take a bite into chicken thighs. ALL of them are thighs. The fries were greasy and soggy, I would ve gotten better food at KFC or something. So shocked and disappointed, don t let the reviews fool you, the place also smells horrible, it wreaks of raw chicken, its like they don t sanitize after using raw chicken or something.
Great fried chicken.
Id eat it everyday all the time. Its the best.
Simple menu concept: fried chicken with purple rice. Elevated toppings and sauces. Small spot with friendly service.
Unreal fried chicken!
Tried this Japanese Street food joint at corner of Gerrard & Parliament .. Had the Gushi Chicken meal & it was Delicious!! Shared the large meal between 2 people & we were both full (deep fried chicken, amazing rice)
Friendly service reasonable prices
I didnt expect to enjoy this place THAT much, but I was wrong. We got takeout since the spot doesnt have indoor seating. We had the 2-people family set and it was amazing. The croquettes were especially good and the garlic and curry mayo sauces really took fried chicken to the next level. Highly recommended to anyone in the area.
Tasty fried goodness
Too salty ..
Great fried chicken, very crispy and juicy. Other items were just okay.
Best japanese food Ive had! Their chicken is phenomenal, the spicy mayo is A MUST, get extra. Their prices are great! Its just a bit far, but that cant be helped lol.
Delicious!
Cute and cozy on Sunday at lunch time. There are only 2 tables with 2 seats each outside. We actually thought it was DINE-IN but clearly not. Technically... DINE-OUT. It was okay because we did sit outside at the table. Easy to order inside and handed through the window on the side outside. Also, there was a tipping option which I gave. Absolutely loved it. We ordered a large OG Chicken Meal ($5 more than regular) and it did not disappoint. It was how I remembered it when they were at the TD Union Market many years ago. We split the large and it was more than enough. The 5 pieces of Gushi chicken were big, juicy and crunchy, the purple rice was terrific and warm and the ginger and edamame were a nice touch. The kicker and game changer is that sauce. It makes the dish so great. Without it, pretty plain. Glad we were able to go. And WOULD definitely go again, especially if we were around Riverdale Farm.
perfect place for takeout. The food was made quickly but the flavours were superb. I got the OG meal and the chicken was crunchy while still being super juicy. The meal was cheap while being big enough to share with my girlfriend. Would recommend to any foodie. Only thing missing is seatings to enjoy there
Got the OG meal large and it was perfect to share with my boyfriend! This was so good and the chicken was still juicy, yet crispy on the outside. It would have been nice if they had a dine in, but overall, it was a great experience even in the short time we were there as the staff was also nice!
Food is really good, tasty and portions are on point!
OK ! The chicken is indeed very gushy and juicy af, and crispy. Super flavourful! It is a grease overload so be ready to drink lots of hot liquids.
Generous portions, delicious flavours and they are super friendly! Cute little store front too :)
Our go-to is the Nanban chicken & the croquettes are a must! Ask for the sauces on the side so its still crispy / nice to warm up.
All gushi chicken locations are really good.
The food is super delicious! I love this place Best chicken in the city.
I have been going to Gushi for 9 years and this is their second location. This location is in a real store front, whereas their original was in the repurposed shipping container marketplace at 707 Dundas St West. I ordered the 10 piece original Gushi Chicken today and called in the order. It was ready 5 minutes later which was perfect. I love the special sauce, seasoning, and unique marinade that they use for their chicken. If you havent tried this restaurant and in the area, I would strongly recommend it! The workers are polite, friendly and know their products! When Im eating alone, I usually get the Gushi chicken meals which include rice, ginger, and the chicken pieces. I love their mix of white/purple rice. Dont get scared of the rice, it looks purple and all but its amazing!!!
really great place. Good is creative and fun. Ill go back to try more.
I come here everytime Im in the cabbagetown area and I NEVER leave disappointed. Gushis menu has something for everyone, with a great selection of carbs to pair with their super juicy chicken. The daango snacks are fun as well, I always order at least one :) I also love that Gushi works with Cabbagetown BIA and Suppli to offer the option for reusable takeout containers. A great example of a beloved local business that cares about the dining experience of their customers.
Delicious fried chicken. Try the nanban.
Found this place way too late in life.
Quick and friendly service, got their 3 piece gushi chicken and it was freshly fried to perfection (with skin too! Yum). Chose the red hachimi salt and spicy mayo dip. 10/10!
Love the vegan nugget meal... Purple rice for the win! Sidenote, awesome french fries
Best fried chicken spot in Toronto! I ve had the H&M (hot and maple) chicken and the Original but the Original is way better. I didn t find it that much different than the H&M one. It comes with spicy mayo sauce and soy sauce.. honestly the flavour combo is just so good. I ve ordered a few times now and every time it is fresh, moist and flavourful!
Really good food. Highly recommend takoyaki and plant based meal
One of the best Japanese street food places I ve been to. I had the karaage curry bento box with purple rice
One of our favourite spots in the city. Amazing food, service and people. Authentic as can be street food from Japan. Nanban is a personal pick, with extra hashimi.
This place is definitely one of my favourite casual restaurants in all of toronto! The fried chicken is always SO juicy and the sauces are great too :) may just get a food coma after so be warned
Went at Gushi 10 mins before they close on a Saturday night and they kindly took my order. I m a first-timer and what a treat! It s one of the best fried chicken I ve tried, perfectly cooked and juicy inside with a layer of crust that was super crunchy. Additionally had some Takoyaki very tasty and fresh. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend!
I visited this place years ago and the portions have definitely shrunk. Everything in the OG Everything box was juicy, crispy and delicious but I just wish it was bigger! I liked the curry poutine too - instead of using cheese curds, its mozzarella so no chance of it being too rubbery.
Went to this place because we were very hungry and trust me it wasn t just appetizing but also filing. We got purple rice with fried chicken and it was too good! Loved the place but it was quite expensive as compared to other food joints! Imagine buying $20 for this portion. A must try though!
My sister is addicted to this place - and rightfully so! Delicious takoyaki and homey-meals for an affordable price. Dangerously affordable!
Great chicken! Hot and fresh. Loved the people working there, so genuine and friendly. Thanks!
One of the best values in the city OG small box is sufficient for lunch or dinner. Chicken is crispy, juicy and flavourful (fyi they use dark meat). Highly recommend this place!
Love love love this food. Simple menu done very well, and amazing technique and flavors. It can get a little crowded, but they make quick work of your order even when theres a line
Uncle tony says its the best
Normally, I would post pictures of the food as part of my review. Well, lets just say that we were so hungry and the food was so good that by the time I realized it, we were down to the last piece of chicken. Seriously. They use cornflour so the chicken itself is gluten-free. However, most of the sauces may have wheat so be careful. Small box is 250g with 3 pieces of chicken while large box is 375g with 5 pieces of chicken. Each piece is a good size and cooked to order so comes piping hot. Note that seating is very limited here (they do have outdoor tables) and no bathroom.
The one of everything meal was delicious. Good crispy texture on the takoyaki and croquette!
Tiny but mighty and tasty is how I describe Gushi on Gerrard x Parliament. The portion is more than I expected. Everything is flavourful. Wonderful staff and quick service. Great choice especially if you are craving for quality Japanese fried chicken.
Its getting a little expensive... Good food
My favorite
Just absolutely delicious!!! Have been going here for years and never had a thing to complain about. Lots of options for customization, GREAT value, saucy and crispy and delicious
Soooo good. The price soooo reasonable
Great fried chicken, tasty and juicy. Why eat KFC when you have Gushi.
Great food
My meal was missing edamame which was the protein/star of the plate. Instead of letting me know they acted like it was normal to leave out main ingredients and were surprised when I wanted a refund. Plus the octopus balls were bland and disappointing.
This place has the most awesome chicken
Best karange chicken Ive had! Great value
Wicked fried chicken
Love this place! I usually get their rice box with EVERYTHING cause I can t ever decide which to get. So good!
The chicken wasnt super crispy and the sauces felt a little greasy. Good food but nothing special. The mango cheese cake is very good though.
Delicious!
Love their karaage rice bowl.
My favourite place to go on my lunch break! !
Really tasty vegetarian curry and pumpkin croquettes. The regular is already a good sized portion. Getting the large for the extra cost isnt really worth it.
Amazing!
Literally the best fried chicken in Toronto and so unbelievably cheap. Great takoyaki too.
The portion of regular OG rices meal is kind of small, but Flavor wise, it definitely deserves a 4star
best taste
Absolutely love this little place! Just the greatest food, super delicious and quick great for lunch. And the prices are super reasonable hard to find lunch in the city for 10$ anymore with quality like that
Amazing food especially the chicken and rice. The price is very reasonable.
Absolutely fabulous chicken! Staff are very polite, and helpful.
Perfectly crispy outside, tender juicy inside. Intensely flavoured. I love the acidity of the lemon mayo, and the bright ginger.
delicious ! I recommend !
super tasty and fast!
This is the go to fried chicken place for my kids and I. So happy theyre in our neighborhood. Also the Mango cheesecake is awesome.
So goood . Recommend the 3 PC original meal
Takoyaki were too oily, I couldn t finish them. ( Don t grab Takoyaki there , you will be disappointed ) Can recommend crispy chicken. The tables are too close to the garbage bins, would be nice if they would not be standing too close. The area itself isn t pleasant to eat in, so I would only recommend take out.
