Busy French bakery/cafe serving breakfast & lunch, with croissants, quiches & sandwiches.
Delicious French pastries and brunch. I had the benny with smoked salmon and it was great, the eggs were perfectly runny and the croissant was flaky and buttery. Their salad comes with their own home made dressing which is also very yummy. I highly recommend trying their pastries and tarts as well, taking a couple home, they are so good! It’s worth the wait for a table.
Bonjour Brioche was an amazing brunch spot, the place was simple and cozy. The service was great and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the salmon eggs Benedict, probably the best eggs Benedict I've had and the French toast was amazing as well. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try most of the pastries as they were sold out (around 1PM). If you want to try the brioche or croissants I suggest going earlier.
One of the best breakfast/ brunch bistros in the city. Home made fresh pastries, sourdough, brioche, jams and salad dressing. Omelet to perfection. Friendly staff, charming patio. Visited several times and quality is consistent. Be prepared for a lineup on weekends, well worth waiting. A true gem on the Queen st East. Must visit. Takeout window if you are in real rush, but this place deserves sitting in.
French little hidden gem, nothing extravagant in terms of decoration like the expensive places you go downtown but it provides what we want, great food and an affordable price. I ordered the Benny and the croque madame, croque madame was amazing
This is one of those places where you don't want to leave after you sit. The atmosphere is cozy, the team is great, and the food is awesome. I definitely recommend the triple banana pudding; it is the best banana dessert I have ever tasted in my life.
The waiting staff is very efficient and fast with their service and recommendations. We had the breakfast Benny with smoked salmon and bacon crepe and sandwich, bread can be a bit chewy but overall great food.
Such an amazing spot!!!! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Cute little patio too! Great french style menu. We got the omlette and the quiche du jour.
We went there on a Saturday for brunch, since there’s no reservation we had to stay in a line which didn’t take that long (10-15min) the food and the portions were good and it had a good vibe
Solid brunch if you re in the area and willing to wait. The moroccan scramble was really good!
Amazing food and great service. Hannah was very nice and recommended us the best food.
Cozy, authentic space with great service. My scrambled eggs with salmon and a bowl of latte was very good. I was meeting a friend I hadn t seen in over 30 years and even though they were busy they didn t rush us. Really appreciated that human touch!
One of my favourite places to have breakfast. Something special about their home made jam that makes me want to keep ordering the baguette and butter and jam.
I love this place. Every Sunday I look for places to have brunch and since I found this one, I repeat every time I can. Prices are reasonable, the staff is great, so is the atmosphere.
I have already tried the spicy ham, vegetrian quiche and perfect! Will go again and again
Food was incredible. Staff super kind. And attentive. Super homey decor very French countryside, homey.
Amazing place!
Super nice place, great atmosphere, amazing food
Loved everything about this quaint little bakery & breakfast place. Taste was just perfect, staff courteous and pricing optimum. No wonder there s waiting each time we ve been here.
Will definitely come back, not only for food, for the warmest hospitality of the staff and their warm welcome.
Went for a Sunday Brunch, had to wait for 10 minutes which is normal considering the queue was shorter than usual. The food the coffee did not disappoint, shall be back for more
Buy some French pastry. Amazing scrumptious!
Great little place with amazing food. Loved it!
The food is always great. Try a benny or the quiches. The staff are amazing, friendly and so attentive. I sat on their patio with my large dog and they were so kind and accommodating. If I could give more stars I would.
Comfortable environment, authentic French bakeries and meals.
Best pastries in Toronto!
I adore Bonjour Brioche. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. The restaurant is quaint and cozy. Its not very large so there is often a wait for a table, but its definitely worth the wait. This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Toronto. Highly recommend it.
Great customer service food was excellent. I had the Croque Madame.
Went there for a takeout the line was orthopedic long but the service was quick and pleasant. Their brewed coffee was surprisingly good! Their pastries were not bad but not the best. Overall; was a good quick coffee and baked good experience
My wife favorite. toasted baguette ham sandwich. Has the melted mozzarella cheese with a hint Dijon mustard and the crunch with every bite. The flavor just crazy good.
Been coming to this bakery for years absolutely delicious... Food, service are always spectacular!
Quite possibly the best customer service and quality experience I ve ever had. The staff went so above and beyond, I love this place and am officially a loyal customer. Highly recommend!!!
Excellent brunch with delicious bread at the right price.
Fabulous food! I cant say enough about the delicious pastries, omelettes, quiches and egg dishes available for brunch. One bite of their flaky buttery croissants and its easy to imagine youve travelled to some small French village where food is taken very seriously! Dont miss a chance to drop by, youre in for a treat! Vegetarian options: Bonjour Brioche chef has developed a wonderful VEGAN dish for brunch, a Moroccan-style scramble that my vegan daughter loves!
Very chill and cheap 30$ including tip and tax for 2 people (we took 2 sandwiches).
This place was everything I was expecting and more. Staff are great and make sure the experience is good for everyone. The food is amazing and lattes are perfect. Atmosphere is nice and cozy. Would definitely go back to try the other options.
food is good but the portions are small for the price Vegetarian options: the tofu scramble is delicious and well seasoned but small portions Food : 4/5 |
French Brunch foods and great coffee
Just okay. I don t know why is this place so overrated. We came here from another part of the city to get pretty mediocre brunch. It s not bad at all, but 4/5. Also would be great if you guys could get transparent plastic cups for iced beverages, not the same as for hot drinks. Food
I love the pastry from here. It s always so yummy.
The French toasts are amazing!
The food is tasty Small space and tables Doesn t matter how early you are there They always run out of something even very common croissant
If youre a fan of amazing pastries this is the spot for you. Bonjour hits the spot everytime. I have yet to try something there that isnt delicious
This is a must go spot. Still the same prices as 5 years ago. Still same amazing service and the food is always delicious. Usually get the croque madam and a latte bowl with an almond croissant . This place is incredibly authentic, great food and better service . Never had a bad experience going here for the last 20ish years. Please never change !
If you get there before 10, not a long wait. We were seated and waited on fairly quickly. It was busy but we didnt feel rushed. Food was tasty and decent portions, we had the brunch/all day menu. Staff were friendly. Will definitely go again to try some pastries.
Cute little spot in Leslieville. Always love going, one of the best brunch in the city. I love how there s no reservation with first come first serve. Photo shown in the salmon Benedict (which is only available on weekends)
I had brunch here. I loved the food and the service was excellent. However, the outdoor patio heater was too strong, the seats were uncomfortable and the music was too loud. There wasnt much space between tables so it was rather noisy. Perhaps sitting inside is more spacious and comfortable? not sure
Very friendly and tasty
Super cute french bistro with fresh pastries. I always go for the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs rosti. Friendly service and amazing food
I stopped in for a solo brunch on a weekday and had the pleasure of seeing first hand how lovely this team is to their customers. While I was there a group of elderly regulars came in and I watched a staff member hold their hands to come down the step in the entryway and walk them to their table. It also seemed like the staff remembered their orders and preferences. Always love supporting businesses that are such a staple in the community, and the great food is a bonus.
I have dined here for years and always know there is a wait. There is a snow storm today and I came in with my 9 week old baby and husband for lunch. My husband dropped us off to see what the wait was. Too long which is fine but I asked to stand inside for 2 minutes while my husband pulled the car around. The young man who was seating people was so rude and would not let me inside. He said it was a fire violation. I asked for 2 minutes as I have a new born and there is a snow storm. I left in tears. I had to beg. Never have I felt so small. Never have I been treated so rudely. It was so awful. You have lost a customer and what a shame. A new mother should never be treated so bad. As I went to leave after a minute as my husband ran to the car. Shame on you.
A hidden gem in East York.
Had the soup and sandwich for lunch. Ham and cheese on a baguette and a cup of mushroom soup. The soup was great, but the sandwich was just kinda sad. A couple thin slices of ham and cheese and a little mustard. Nothing else, no tomato, lettuce, onion...lol. so I took a little salad from her plate to give it some flavour. Was sub-par at best. The other dishes being served looked okay, but stay away from the jambon avec cheese.
Long time customer. Have had exceptional experiences dining in. For takeout, not sure if the pastry chef changed but these dry burnt stale croissants on a Saturday morning are not acceptable.
First time to the BB. I just loved it. Lots of returning guests were in line while I waited. I had the lentil chorizo soup(very good) and the chicken salad sandwich on a crossaint. I would recommend it, and I would definitely be back.
We lucked out and got a table as soon as they opened. The food was super tasty and the vibe was intimate and nice. Food
i will spend my last dollar on them tart because they re so worth it.
Not sure how this is possible but Bonjour brioche is actually better since the new ownership. It s always been so, so good - and now - service is friendlier, croissants even more amazing. The flourless chocolate cake is more spectacular than we remember. Congrats team!
The baguettes absolutely slap; along with everything on the menu. I visit here often and each time is such a treat. It was also neat to see Bonjour Brioche in Handmaids Tale! Food : 5/5
Great (but busy!) brunch spot in the area Very good prices especially for how good the food is! Ordered: quiche and croque madam The service was very friendly and fairly quick for how busy it was The only thing to note is the space is small or I would not recommend for a group larger than 4
The salmon Benny was delicious! The server was very attentive with refilling our waters and coffee! Never felt rushed to leave after finishing our meal. We got lucky and did not have to wait but I heard typically there is a line.
Loved the place for the authentic french Pastries and croissant! Best Chocolate Tart and flourless chocolate cake I had in Toronto. The taste was rich, dense and not over sweet. Its my go to for Sweets craving.
Tasty! We picked up 3 frozen tourtières for a holiday dinner. They were super tasty (perhaps a bit too salty). Worth the $30. And, they arent really tourtières, they are just regular meat pies. I am sure we could argue endlessly on that. But really, they are just meat pies. Lol
Always worth a stop if youre in the East end.
I love the place! Menu has variety and definitely recommend French style omelette
The best croissants in the city! Sooo good! Were so lucky to live near this bakery
The salad dressing is a delicious enigma
Amazing tastes, fast and nice service, Ill come back.
Our favorite place for a weekend brunch so far. My wife and I loved this place since the first bite. We have to wait to be seated but it worth it, anyways is not a long time waiting. The service is great and the staff very kind! They always refill your coffee and the food is delicious!!
What a great spot! The owner and team are so lovely, and put out some delicious grub! The quiches are spectacular and my pup loves the croissants!!! Thank you for being such wonderful neighbours!
Their croissants are perfect .
Excellent bake goods , breakfast and coffee.
Great breakfast and pastries. We had the spicy bacon sandwich and the croque madame. Dze madame did not bite! Lol Very good and great service!
Doesn t worth the amount of time vs attention and food. Don t waste your time going there.
Wonderful place with great food and kind staff. The owner is lovely. Also love the heated patio! Best croissants in town
Great breakfast and coffee. Croissants are delicious!
Good
Fantastic environment, great food . We ll proceed and the new owner is awesome.
Amazing food and amazing service by Nathan !
Delicious and service is great. Long line but so well worth the wait. They have a heated patio in the winter and its great, Nathan the owner is super friendly. A must try!!!
Wow. So as soon as you get through the waiting line (worth it btw), you are greeted with a smash of warm air scented with freshly baked bread, and fresh ground coffee. The server was incredibly friendly and patient. We ordered a tea and pomegranate mimosa for our drinks. We both ordered the eggs Benedict on smoked salmon on a fresh baked croissant, and an extra croissant on the side. The flavor that hits you is indescribable, it is salty, sweet, creamy, eggy, fluffy, buttery... All in one bite. Then we ordered a lemon twist and a lemon tart for dessert. If you love lemon, and cant get enough of it, the tart is for you. Its SOOOO tart, I mean it is called a tart so they have that down pat. It is served with raw whipped cream, but the tart is sweet enough to compliment the raw cream. The lemon twice was great! Less lemon, great for those who like a touch of lemon, instead of being assaulted by lemon flavor like in the tart. 9.5/10 recommend and would 100% return. The wait is well worth it.
Yummy Baileys latte bowl! We also had omlettes. They were fantastic!
Super busy but worth the wait! Great croissants
Delicious food and filling! So good though!
Amazing staff amazing food and has felt like home ever since our first visit. Now a weekly staple in my schedule.
Just mediocre Both service and food.
We had a lovely breakfast and our server was so kind and generous. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing experience with a small-town vibe.
A cute spot in the Queen street East neighbourhood. Waiting was approximately 20 minutes if you want to sit inside. We enjoyed the spicy bacon sandwich. The filling was a perfect mix of bacon, avocado, tomatoes and spices. However the showstopper was the baguette that was freshly made in house. We bought a baguette to take home with us to make our own sandwiches. Our server was hilarious and gave us goos tips of the specials and how to heat the baguette once we reach home. Keep it up Team Bonjour Brioche!
Good food. Space is at a premium, though
Very nice staff, good price and great food.
French pastries and more. Feels like you re actually in Paris. Try the eclairs.
My favourite brunch spot in the city. There s a reason that there s a line up for brunch every weekend! The place is a bit small and they have limited indoor dining but they only accept walk ins so you just have to be prepared to wait a bit. Their smoked salmon benny (only offered on weekends) and baked french toast are to die for! Their croissants are sooo yummy too, especially the cinnamon raisin one. Also the mango tangerine juice is so fresh every time. This place is a must try!
Great food and great service!
Great bakery for breakfast.
Bussin! Great cross-aunts :)
Outstanding there is a reason why this place is always busy. The food is fantastic. Their Eggs Benedict is so yummy! The hollandaise sauce tastes like it s made with real butter and not coming out of a package. The coffee and lattes and pastries are also really good! Usually good reviews are an HR campaign not for this place what you read about it is true.
If I could give a ZERO I would!!! We drove 1 hour to begin a great anniversary day celebration starting at what we thought would be a great little French restaurant. It was a cold and rainy day, once we were seated we could feel the cold draft from the door I politely asked if we could move to a table that had just cleared. No problem said NATHAN (apparently a part owner as he said). We ordered a quiche and Benny, after 30 minutes of waiting for our food and seeing other people come in after us and ordered and received their meals with some even finished and left. We inquired about our order 10 minutes later at 40+ since ordering, NATHAN brings our food and I asked, NATHAN is this typical to wait this long for food? Well guess what NATHAN answered me? we ll you ve been grumpy since you came in we tried to please you with all your requests WHAT REQUESTS?????? All I asked was to move tables oh I m sorry NATHAN for disturbing your peace. And the best part some girl from the table beside us turns and says oh I work as a server at another restaurant and sometimes it s busy oh WOW thank you girl at other table for the advise and opinion that no one asked for! Thank you NATHAN and thank you BONJOUR BRIOCHE for ruining what was to be a great morning by being unnecessarily RUDE and having ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. Here s what Grumpy does good news travels but bad news travels even faster! I ll make sure to let as many know of your TERRIBLE and RUDE attitude. To top it off we just returned from Paris last month not even in Paris were they as RUDE as NATHAN. If NATHAN really is a partner in the business, he couldn t have more than 1% into it. For the sake of your business just buy him out! You don t need this type of TOXIC attitude representing you. All he had to do was apologize for the delay. What he chose to do is say I m grumpy (which I wasn t) so that means delay my food????? NATHAN YOUR A SPECIAL ONE.
Great spot
perfectly cooked eggs benny. service can be a bit slow, but hey, it s brunch, what s the rush?
Truth be told, this place deserves 5 stars for the food, environment and service. Where the rating falls short is solely due to the fact that dogs are allowed on the shrubbery/fence enclosed, covered patio. We could visibly see the dog hairs flying around in the sunlight, just to have to pick them off our food while trying to eat. We then also had to pick dog hair off our clothes after leaving. We are dog lovers but I do have to draw the line somewhere.
They dont miss. Fresh tasty quick and great staff. Pay them more they deserve it
Cosy, yummy, hearty, genuine
We spent a great time and had a wonderful brunch there. The staff there are just amazing. Bread could not get any better and also they offered us a passion fruit lemonade which was just so wonderful. We will go back there 100%
I love that this place
A TRUE 5 STARS! The food delicious, this I knew from the many times I ve been. I had the omelette provençal and my daughter had the french toast! The french toast is made with fresh raisin bread (YUM!). What made this visit special is that my daughter couldn t decide which juice she wanted so the server prepared a whole juice tasting for her!! So sweet!! She definitely felt like a princess. Definition of going above and beyond.
Great service and lovely food!
Ive visited this place a few times and I must say, their pastries are quite enjoyable. Their brioche, in particular, is amazing. During my last visit, I ordered the Baked French toast and while it was different from what I expected, it tasted quite good. I would describe it more as a bread pudding. The flavor and consistency were pleasing. On a previous visit, I had the Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs. The eggs were perfectly cooked (believe it or not, scrambled eggs can be an art). However, the dish could have used something to cut through the heaviness of the fat. Nonetheless, the flavors were still great. I was fortunate not to have to wait too long in line, but Im aware that it can get quite packed.
Dropped by for their bake good for the first time. I fortunately was able to pick up their tarts. Ethan was really kind and was super accommodating. This is one of my favourite tart so far in Toronto. It was super well made and has a nice balance between sweet and acidic. Every bite has the taste of buttery flavour. I m going to be coming back for their other bake goods.
Enjoyed a delicious brunch outdoors yummy eggs benedict with lox and their basil and goat cheese tart everything so fresh. Service couldn t have been nicer!
Drove an hour for a bottle of their salad dressing. Worth it.
There was a long line outside. The waiter comes and asks out loud who is willing to sit inside. I m the only one to raised a hand, and I don t regret. Lovely smell of freshly baked pastry, the fans were more than enough for a 25C morning, the kitchen was a bit behind the orders, and it took them about 20 minutes to bring us the food, but it was delicious. We had eggs Benedict and smoked salmon, and a marvellous Fig, Caramelized Onion and Gorgonzola tart. The arugula salad was stupidly well balanced with balsamic vinegar and spices! Not too sweet, not too acid. Bonus point, they had decaf! Marva was our waiter, she is the best!
Fabulous brunch and location!
Great food, lovely service. Definitely will come back!
Great brunch place
Very friendly. Good service and food without any buts. Optimal place to start the day
Their patio is open for cocktails and small bites on Friday evenings 6pm-11pm. The margarita pitcher is awesome, and we loved the sliders!!!
Our favorite local spot that s been around for many years. Retains its fantastic local neighborhood charm and the staff will get to know you after a few visits. All the pastries are great and the salad dressing is something I buy and bring home. Prices are also very reasonable. Whether you re new to Leslieville or have been here for years, you haven t experienced local Toronto east end until you ve been to Bonjour Brioche. They also launched a Friday cocktails series called Bonsoir Brioche which is equally charming.
I don t want to share this place because the lines are honestly long enough at this point but alas the hype is well deserved, and every single person I ve ever met here has been lovely. Weekend brunches here are absolutely worth the wait, the smoked salmon eggs Benedict is a forever favourite, and even the side salads (which I usually hate) are delicious. Love love love this place, and will gladly queue up for it.
The best!
quiche was literally 10/10. everything so yummy
Food was mediocre. The butter croissant was like store bought, I could not evet get butter smell. The omelette was definitely not french style as it s claimed on the menu. The crepe was uncooked. There is nothing special with this please. Also they brought me a glass with lip marks on it and when I mentioned this waitress did not even bother to apologize, but she gave me a weird look instead.
If youre looking to do brunch on a sunday, I would recommend arriving before 10:00 a.m. the menu has changed quite a bit in the last few years for the better, and this time around we tried two of Savory Tarts and they were both good along with the side salad and baguette. We also had the blueberry custard brioche and almond croissant. Both were just okay as the Almond croissant did not have enough almond frangipan and the blueberry custard brioche could have used a bit more filling as well
Amazing breakfast option
Meh - is the best descriptor I could offer. Ordered a croque madame... first, it was the size of a tea cup with no gruyere and no bechamel! Dry and tasteless. It cannot be a croque madame without this. Butter tart tasted like it had lemon in it, with a soggy crust. Food is not that great; not sure why the long lines. The only thing Ive ever liked from here is the croissants and brioches. Wont eat here again.
Its a great place for brunch. The coffee is wonderful and the qrocke madame is the best we ever tried. The croissants have real Parisienne taste. Dine outside.
I had a very delicious avocado toast. Staff are very polite and friendly. The patio is amazing, and the food is delicious. Very ideal for brunch.
food was decent, wait was a bit but ambience & overall experience was good.
I used to come to this place a lot a long while back. It was so cute/ neighbourhoody/ vibey etc. Revisited last week and it was rather disappointing. The food was kinda bland, kinda basic, not very elevated. They still had the caviar on potato rosti, the croque madame, but somehow it just felt underwhelming. unlike the girl in the reviews below, I thought the waiter was trying his best to service everyone in the space, also it really was just him running the whole show. Kinda demanding, and post covid I understand if theyre low staffed, it was more so the food that disappointed me. I m
Wonderful homemade pastries and breads!
Racist and worst customer services . They were so racist and didn t want to serve Asian customer .
Wonderful food and staff. We enjoyed the quiche and eggs Benny. The grapefruit juice was so fresh. Picked up some croissants for my family and they really enjoyed them.
Love!! Just love for all the years of this wonderful European correction of the once bleak Toronto food scene and whose special place standard has remained steady over so many delicious years. May we have them forever!
Honestly, I had high expectations with the place, but after eating there, for me it is only ok
Yummy as always, been coming here for about 25 years! Sour cherry tart was a bit sweaty today but still delicious! Staff atmosphere food . Keep it up.
The French Toast I ordered was delicious, but I didn t finish it because one piece tasted like bacon and I don t eat pork. Their coffee was great and the best part was that they refilled it. The tablecloth was dirty but maybe because it was really busy.
Excellent food and service. Was at the park nearby, and decided to come here to eat improptu for Sunday brunch. Surprisingly, they seated us within 5 minutes, which is very rare to happen in Toronto for Sunday brunch. Waiting staff were very friendly and provided great service. Food arrived promptly after ordering. I had the eggs Benedict, which came on a croissant and tasted great. It also came with a salad, and a toasted half baguette, which were both fresh and great tasting. Overall outstanding experience, and would highly recommend.
In case anyone still thinks BB is cash only , it is not! They take plastic. Rejoice! Also, the little bakery window is delightful and serves the whole menu. Food is excellent. Worth the wait.
This is a down-to-earth French bakery with excellent croissants.
The food here is fantastic. They make their own bread for their sandwiches and ask their food is made fresh with quality ingredients, and made well. The only downfalls of this place is their seating is very limited, it is popular (and rightfully so) and when its busy the food can take some time to arrive, but the servers are pleasant and very attentive while you wait, and this is a place you dont want to rush in and out of. They also have a take out window if you want your sandwich to go. Highly recommend.
Indoor seating is quite cramped and looks like the jiggled things around to try to make it work. Ran out of some of the brioche pastries around lunch time unfortunately. Kitchen was also quite slow to get out some relatively common breakfast items.
Wow wow wow! Safe to say that was the best croissants Ive had in canada! Had a lemon twist, plain and pain au chocolate. They were all perfectly buttery and flakey and delicious my only complaint is that they arent close enough for me to walk to everyday!!!!
Down to earth, French Cafe vibe. My quiche was the lightest and fluffiest Ive had. Prices were reasonable, given that its 2023. Excellent, friendly service.
Extremely busy on the weekends, questionable seating but overall, solid brunch options. The service here was pretty great, with a super friendly host giving updates regarding wait times frequently. I came as a party of 3 on a Sunday and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered the vegetarian quiche, feta and tomato tart, smoked salmon benny, and sweet crepes. We absolutely LOVED the crepe, so delicious and light! The quiche was flavourless and the tomato feta tart was really salty and grainy. Smoked salmon benny was solid though. The main issue was with being seated in front of this humongous heater in the outdoor patio. We were boiling and had to remind our waiter a few times to reduce it. Just something to note if you re being informed about your seating options avoid the heater if you can.
My new favourite breakfast spot in Toronto. Food very good but has a wonderful charm. New owners used to work there and kept the warm character. Best French Toast in a long time!
Food & Service never fails here 10/10.
Imagine being excited to go for brunch at Bjr Brioche after a long time. You get there and it smells great. Love the ambiance. You wait quite a bit for your order. You take a first bite of the baguette which happens to be soggy and cold. Then the scrambled eggs arrive on soggy tasteless rösti. Tried the restaurant 10 yrs ago and never went back until now. Such unimpressive food for such a quaint place full of potential. Sad. I ll try it again in another 10 years.
Service was impeccable, the manager was so nice and on the ball. Food was amazing. All three of us had the nicest time. The wait wasn t too bad for a Saturday either. Get dessert to go!!
One of the best breakfast scenes in Toronto! A must check in for everyone!
It was astonishing breakfast with good service. Definitely will recommend this place.
Skip the butter tart (unless you like watery) and get the perfect cheese croissant!
Beautiful montages, well eaten! I recommend the croque madame and the Bonjour Benny . A little chilly (service window with open window).
Hands down best bakery on the est end
I had the almond croissant and it was disappointing. I ve had their regular butter croissant, it was ok. Not worth travelling to the east end for.
So good!!! 10/10 recommend. Best pastries ever!
This place was incredible. It s a staple of that neighborhood. The line out the door was indicative of how great the food is. I was impressed with the coffee as well. My wife and I will definitely be coming back.
This place is a gem!! Delicious food and pastries, cozy atmosphere, friendly service! Definitely will be back!
Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a cute brunch spot, or just craving some excellent baked goods. I had the salmon eggs Benny and it was to die for. Service was impeccable, never did I get a chance to run out of water or coffee, felt welcomed and appreciated since the minute I walked in. Will be returning again 100% some of the best baked goods I ve ever had.
I am glad somebody else realized the lady (owner) attitude. Horrible service!!! I found a fly in my salads vinaigrette I should have taken a picture but it was so quickly. We told the owner she did not even apologize or offer a kind of compensation. Awful Awful Awful
Good baked products
Went to this place with my 7 year old daughter and a girlfriend. We stopped before to get my daughter a treat and water and my friend grabbed a coffee from another place. We were walking and then waiting in line. When this lady(owner?) said: are you all done with your drinks? Because I don t allow them. The way she spoke to us was so condescending and rude. I wished I had said something but she walked away when she said that. We left and would never go back there. Some people should never be in business.
If I could give less than one star I would. Went there and bought two croissants for NINE DOLLARS with a tip included and when I asked for them to be warmed up I was refused because it s against their policy what a joke. Places like these are spoiled by the brunch crowd. A bakery that refuses to warm up their own pastries to paying customers is a disgrace.
Used to love the brunch there!! But very disappointed by the baguette I brought home today. I can tell it was a baguette made the day before, not fresh at all it will make me think about it 2 times before going there again
Food was fine but the service was horrible. All the other employees seemed nice but we were stuck with the middle aged lady who seems to run the place. No smile, no thank yous, just a straight transaction. Would not return 1/5
Wonderful!!
Such a wonderful place to have brunch. Great food and friendly service. Can highly recommend the Spicy Caesar and make sure to get dessert. Thanks Hannah for making our visit memorable! Cheers!
Many negative reviews here are all for the same reason as mine. The service and attitude here is horrendous. The servers are rude, get annoyed with questions and want you to order as quickly as possible. This is definitely not a welcoming or inviting place to eat. Ive never wanted to leave a restaurant just for their service alone.
Not Kid Friendly. My wife and I came to this restaurant for breakfast with my one year old. From the onset, the staff were annoyed that my child was playing with his trucks on the ground even though he was not bothering anyone. One of the members had the audacity to tell us to keep him in his chair. We could not believe why they were demanding this as my child was not bothering anyone. Another middle aged lady, who I believe was the owner spoke to us so loud and condescendingly that the rest of the patio stopped and stared. We we were so embarrassed and upset about this that we had to pack up and leave. This restaurant should have a no kids allowed sign posted up front if they are going to treat families with young children the way they treated mine.
Incredible place - had a great time with friends! Food is delicious and not pricey at all. Super recommended :)
It was good service. The food was okay. Okay prices too. Maybe some other dishes can be better. Algo of the breads are hand made. Okay place to have breakfast and brunch.
Best brunch in Toronto. Love the quiche Lorraine, and I always take the frangipani and clafoutis to go. Yum yum!
In response to the review from S... I was there that day and their kid was literally sitting and playing on the wooden accessibility ramp that was on the only path from the restaurant to serve the street patio. Their kid was in everyones way and in danger of getting knocked over by servers carrying hot drinks, pedestrians, and dogs. At one point, the parents even moved the ramp to their table to let their kid continue to play, and then the owner stepped in to tell them they might need the ramp later for other customers (i.e. wheelchairs, strollers, etc.). Please check your entitlement and take some responsibility for your kid. Aside from this, the food was fresh and delicious as usual.
The best cinnamon and raisin pastry ever!
Seems to have gone downhill went back to try their classic baguette and Ham,, Half a baguette no butter two pieces of ham $15 hardly worth it
Delicious brunch that tends to become busy during the weekend, so get there early! Excellent selection of brioche and croissants. The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was what I had for brunch and it was delicious (really cant go wrong with smoked salmon and eggs).
Great place for lunch or brunch! Their baguettes are incredible as are their quiches. Theyre usually pretty busy, especially on weekends, so its best to go when youre not in too much of a hurry and better if you can get there early.
The food is exceptionally mediocre. Why do people wait to eat here? However, this but one star review is for the truly garbage service. It took us 15 minutes to be seated while the restaurant was empty. Then, the server repeatedly screws up describing menu items and specials. We have to correct her, otherwise she was going to overcharge us. Then after bringing our drinks, the waitress forgets to bring mixing spoons forcing us to get up and find spoons. Then when the food comes, our server is again no where to be found. Since we have no cutlery to eat with, we had to get up again and scout the restaurant for clean forks. Never ever going back!
Great brunch spot ten years ago. Terrible service!
First time here and was happy with the service. Our server was very nice, in fact. We tried the eggs Benedict, which was very good, and the baked French toast, which I found a little rich, but tasty. We also bought some pastries to go. The dining area is small but they have a heated outdoor patio.
Have pre-ordered desserts from here multiple times for family occasions. My favourite so far has been the clafoutis which was so delicious Im still thinking about it 6mo later. I also usually pick up some tarts or baked goods for myself when I go - so far my favourite is the tomato feta. Service at the window is friendly even though in spite of the inevitably long line. Go early before the brunch rush to avoid it!
Line outside could be long for takeout
Food is consistently good, quiche is fabulous. Salad dressing is to die for. Customer service, on the other hand, is completely lacking, as reflected in many of the reviews below. Don t expect to be treated in a friendly manner, particularly by certain managerial/owner staff.
One of my favourite pastry spots in the city. The croissants are amazing but the lemon twists are insane - I can t recommend it enough. I always think to take a picture but start eating as soon I get the product. Never had brunch here because of the long wait but hope to try it soon!
Great french bakery with a tasty selection. Good brunch spot in the neighborhood
A nice and cosy brunch place which also has an outdoor heated section. Service was top of the line and the Bennys (Benedict) are probably the best I ve had. I had it with the smoked salmon and would definitely go have them again. Brilliant!
This review is based on a situation, Thursday, November 3rd. It was a nice day, and we were looking for a good spot for brunch/lunch with a friend from overseas. The patio was quite full and the waiter said a table was finishing up, and itll take about 10 minutes. Well, we waited for longer. Now I am aware the waiter has no control over of a table leaving sooner or not. What I am expecting is some communication. Whenever we asked him how much longer (20 minutes at this point) we were rudely dismissed. Now, there is a long queue for take-out. We had errands to do and decided to order take out instead. Not wanting to wait in line all over again, we KINDLY asked the waiter if we can order food through him for take-out. He rudely told us to go to the take-out counter. I reminded him we had been waiting over 30 minutes and did not want to wait in line again. He took our order but was quite rude and condescending. My summer ritual is Bonjour Brioche take-out, and sit at the park with my dogs while I have my croissant/sandwich and coffee. I love their croissants and spicy bacon sandwich! I think Bonjour Brioche may be best enjoyed as a take-out spot based on our experience trying to get a table.
Probably the best chocolate croissant I ve ever had. They were selling out of their window - I m not sure what the sit-down breakfast is like, but I will be back just for the croissants!
