I love going to Jules on the weekend to get croissants and pastries. They also have different types of breads that I have yet to try. The service is fast and friendly. There is always a line to get in though since the place is not that big. So only 2-3 people can be served at a time.

These are some of the most authentic, delicious French pastries we've had in quite a while. You can taste the quality in the ingredients and the love they put into each item. I've gone to pastry school, and my husband and I have been in the industry each over a decade, and we've had our fair share of good and bad foods. These were top-notch! I got the almond croissant, and my husband got the mixed berry Danish. They were absolutely perfect, the jam in the Danish was not too sweet, it was perfect. You can tell these were fresh and made in-house and well worth the price. My only regret? Not ordering a coffee and sitting in the cafe to enjoy it! Highly recommend!

French pastries and excellent espresso -- it's heaven! We had a vanilla cream square and a plum Danish, both flakey and delicious, accompanied by tea and espresso. The bathroom is downstairs.

Purchased a couple ham and Swiss croissants, a plum tart and a peach tart. The peach tart was good. But the plum tart was not great. The plum fruit was super sour to the point it was inedible. I ended up just eating the tart and threw out the plum pieces. A bit disappointing considering how expensive it was.

The cashier made me feel rushed in ordering a pastry & I didn't even take a long time. I don't think she can handle being asked a lot of questions. The Apple Pastry was GREAT honestly. Crispy & powdery on the outside, AMAZING. Creamy on the inside. Great apple taste, really effective flavour combination. The food is PERFECT but the service needs improvement. I still like the experience overall. Really great pastry & I love pastry.

If you’re looking for a real croissant in midtown, this is the place you need to come. I could tell from one bite that they use quality ingredients. Staffs are friendly and the service is quick. They offer a variety of baked goods such as croissants, sourdough breads, sandwiches, danishes, tarts, quiches, cakes, cookies etc. We tried some of their products below. 1. Plain Croissant : 4.5/5 2. Almond Plain Croissant : 4/5 3. Chocolate Almond Croissant : 5/5 - Just delicious. I've never tried the chocolate + almond combo before but they go really well together. Highly recommend. 4. Mustard Twist : 5/5 5. Vanilla & chocolate cookies : 4/5 6. Apple Almond Danish : 5/5 - The texture of baked apples and the layers.. everything about this danish was amazing. I usually don't like the taste of baked apples but this danish? Please try. If you ever see this danish in the basket, just get it. You won't regret it. 7. Pain Au Chocolat : 3/5 I recommend visiting in the morning if you’d like to try various pastries. And maximum 4 people are allowed in the store. I’ll definitely come back and try their cake menus too.

Jules Cafe Patisserie is a small and popular bakery on Mount pleasant. They are offering a variety of treats and breads. I recently bought from them a great sourdough ray bread that it was amazing. When it comes to the treats my favourite remains the pistachio fig tarts. It seems that they really know how to balance those flavours. The crust alone is so battery that it is worth each cents of the cake. I definitely recommend this place, but be careful on weekends it gets busy and they may run out of your favourite.

Pastries are quite delicious no matter what you choose. Ill be honest, Ive been going there for years, but never stayed there to eat. They are half an hour (more in traffic) drive from my house by the pastries are really worth it. However, staying there to eat turned out quite unpleasant. If you want to sit at the bar kind of seats, you get the uncomfortable metalic bar stools and full of crumbs and dishes counter. Or they have 3 bar tables with VERY unstable bar chairs. Two people before me fell off and complained, then I fell off twice. When it happened to me, the owner (or seemed to be the senior member of the team) was there, but only the poor server kept apologizing for the chairs. In addition to this hazard, they were changing the carpets in front of the counter and seating area while people were eating. Which if done carefully, is not an issue, but they did it in a way that all the dust from carpets, and whats under, went up. Then they swept the rest in the same way. If I didnt see the dust flowing right in front of me and on my table, I really wouldnt care, but with their prices, to have to throw out half of the pastry because of the carpet dust on it, is just not right! Last is no wifi... I never use wifi in coffee shop but just dropped my phone and lost all service, something with sim connection. I was sure that wifi in the coffee shop is as common and essential as napkins, guess not.... Well, Im getting wifi and coffee in the coffee shop down the road looking for a new phone and writing a somewhat angry review...

Its a hit or a miss. Dont go too early because sometimes the almond croissant is from yesterday. It aint fresh! Sell through via too good to go or another app if you dont want to waste. When people are paying $3.75 for a plain croissant to over $5 for a danish, you have to make it fresh. I want to continue to support small businesses but its sad when Tim Hortons is fresher. Very disapointing experience. Will not come back. 1. The cashier did not greet me upon arrival, which felt unwelcoming. 2. While I was eating, the person washing the dishes was clanging them loudly on the counter, making it hard to enjoy my meal. 3. Additionally, a dirty rag was left near my plate, which was concerning from a cleanliness standpoint.

This is an ethical review! To the bakery crew: If you see someone standing in a line, it means he or she is waiting to be served in sequence and it does not mean he or she is warming up, standing for nothing or just interested in watching what other customers do. Please note that its not the customer s responsibility to remind others and you to greet and treat people fairly and not to serve whomever you prefer! At least watch this simple ethics in this neighborhood. I mean, while there are several classy bakeries on Bayview, just steps away!

Large selection of pastries but Ive gone around 1/2pm on weekends and theyre sold out by then sometimes. Lots of bread to choose from and some tarts as well. Come support them! They take AMEX TOO! Edit 5/22 Vege Croque Monsieur is amazing. Good blend of mushroom, cream sauce, spinach. Seasoned well with generous cheese. Bottom of the sandwich can be wet/soggy. Recommend the savoury items, especially anytime they make a savoury kough-Amman, I guarantee you it is delish. @trebzheng

I have been a loyal customer of Jules Cafe for many years. On April 20th around 9:30am, I ordered an almond croissant and a Croque Monsieur ham sandwich, as I have done many times before. I requested that the sandwich be warmed up, but the staff member informed me that it would take 10 minutes to do so. I acknowledged this and said that I was willing to wait. However, the staff member used a microwave to warm up the sandwich and returned it to me in just 1 minute. Unfortunately, the sandwich was not in good condition as the bread had become soggy and the ham had become hard and dehydrated due to the microwaves high beam energy. Consequently, I had to throw away half of the sandwich. I have some questions that I would like the manager of the cafe to address: Why was a microwave used to warm up the sandwich when it is known to ruin the texture of the sandwich? If the staff uses a microwave on a regular basis to warm up sandwiches, why did they tell me it would take 10 minutes when it only took 1 minute to warm up my sandwich? If you want to explain that the staff member was new, please do not. Instead, please address whether or not you train your staff on these important details. I was very disappointed with my experience and had to remove my previously five-star review of your cafe to write this one. I hope that your response to my concerns will be better than the behavior of your staff and that you will not disappoint your customers.

Is it because if you need to ask then you can t afford it? Wow, talk about putting on airs. The service is so pretentious it is a foil to their baked goods. I ll pass on them for my croissant fix. BTW, we just tried the sourdough and find that it is not sourdough. So there is definitely some truth to the reviews I ve seen that the male counter person is not only rude but have no product knowledge or just don t care about what they say to their clientele. Such a shame!

After my son surprised me on my Christmas birthday with the most wonderful plum cake I had ever tasted, I was, after a couple of months, able to make the drive from Brighton to Toronto, to not only visit my son BUT also to visit Jules Patisserie. To my delight they did have plum cake and plum tarts available. I was in heaven. Truly the best ever. What an absolute delight. I sure wish Jules was closed to my location. I cant wait for my next visit to Toronto. Thank you!

This was my favourite place for amazing French pastries bu todays experience has changed my mind. I havent been to Jules in a while, today everything looked dried out. I bought the Caneles and they were hard on the bottom, burnt on the top and $5 each. I threw them out. I would not go back- ever.

My favourite bakery in the area so why sell stale baguette? Think people can t tell when it was rebaked and why it is stone hard? This is the curse of being a bakers son, I know most of the tricks. Do I not give you enough business? This is too bad now I have to double check my orders for freshness.

Overpriced and bad customer service. Doesn t make sense as their space is very super small - rents and materials etc. shouldn t jump price so much!

Horrible. French pastry? This is faux-French garbage.

From the service, to the coffee, pastries, and other baked goods, this place is a standout in Toronto. Sure, maybe in France or Japan this would be a 4/5 , but for Toronto this is most certainly a shining star amongst the so many underwhelming Patisseries. Enjoy!

Plenty of pastries remaining unsold but shop is closed... made enough money for today. They dont need me as a customer... too bad so sad.

We had chocolate and almond croissants. We used to love the place and heard a lot of good stuff. This time, they even lack the supposed architecture of a croissant!!look at the picture of almond croissant. Does it look like croissant? The taste was soooo usual! And the prices are so high. With good quality, the price could be reasonable but this time it was really disappointing. Never going to try again.

I was happy to discover this bakery. Every time I was walking in front of it, I was seeing lineups. They also only allow 2 people inside at the time. They offer a lot of baked goods and I wanted to try everything. Their baguette is very similar to the ones in France. Their butter croissant was nice and flakey but in my opinion was not buttery enough. Their almond croissant was delicious. Their chocolate croissant was very good. My only disappointment was that the 2 chocolate bars were stacked and not separated enough so that you would have a really nice chocolate-y bite and then some with no chocolate at all. Maybe it was just the one chocolate croissant. Their pain au raisin was very good. I also tried their twisted chocolate bread which was very enjoyable. Their fig pistachio tart was amazing. They had a lot of different fruit tarts that all looked so good. They also had a whole quiche and sandwich section that looked very tempting as well. Their coffee was very good as well. Their quiche lorraine was nice and thick with a good amount of bacon inside. Would definitely come back.

The first time I went with my friend this place was full of regular flies and fruit flies landing in the food. I pointed it out to the workers and they didnt care. I went back a second time because my friend didnt believe me, and yet again tons of flies landing on the food. Absolutely disgusting.

This bakery is one of my local favorites. The chocolate croissant is a must and you should definitely try the whole wheat sourdough. On my last visit I had the ham & cheese sandwich which is delicious but not for those on a diet. I usually have a cappuccino but this time they only had regular coffee as it was almost closing time but I must say it was actually pretty good. Hope the pumpkin croissant comes back to the menu next year.
