I got samosa from this business and they gave me frozen one, I got that for my lunch and I was far away from the location, but I couldn’t have my lunch because they gave me frozen food, I called them and told them that you give me frozen food. They said we cannot do anything about it we forgot that it’s frozen. They don’t care about customer they customers and they don’t give good services and they don’t care if they make a mistake they’re not sorry for waisting your money. don’t appreciate and don’t support the businesses that they don’t care about the customer. I usually put good reviews for everybody that deserve it but this time I need to talk about something that is not nice to do with people. We need to appreciate peoples time money when they wanna buy something and give them good food. If we do mistake we need to take care of our mistakes not to say we can’t do anything and Sorry.
We picked up some bagels and cream cheese to go, today. The bagels did NOT taste fresh, and they are already getting hard after purchasing them in the early afternoon. We think they are passing off day old bagels on customers, unfortunately. We will not be coming back. This place used to be better last year, maybe under different ownership?? If you are looking for incredibly delicious and fresh (still warm) bagels, head to Bagel Nash. A bit of a drive but so worth it!! The one star is for the spinach cream cheese, which I like.
If you see this guy, exit the store! Immediately! Worst customer service ever! This guy should not have been hired and he shouldn't work with the public because he's beyond rude. Absolutely DISGUSTING. Would not issue me a refund for a bagel that I no longer wanted because he didn't make it to order nor would he correct it. He just stopped responding to me. This man is racist. I will never eat at this establishment or any of the other ones and the reviews seem to be a downward trend, the end is near. I hope because people should not be wasting their money here. The man in the red shirt is useless. Kept on asking me if I'm having fun asking for a refund and then advised I call the IRS. Wouldn't shop here.
I like that Bagel House is open 24 hours. However, the service is hit or miss. I feel that every time I come, the ordering counter has moved, which confuses customers. Numerous times, my bagel has been prepared with errors despite my simple order. If you pay with cash their is a discount. A few times, my order has cost different amounts despite being the same thing. I hope management looks into this.
We noticed a sign at the front of the store that we could buy frozen Montreal Bagels at the Bayview location. Since we normally freeze our Bagels anyways, we decided to try them. Bad decision. The Bagels are brought up from the basement freezer. We noticed some ice crystals in the bag with the Bagels. The clerk said they were "only a couple of weeks old". They were in regular plastic Bagel bags and not "freezer bags" like when we purchase them at another Montreal Bagel shop. Also, they were packed in dozens. When we purchase at our alternate shop, they are packed in 6's in a freezer bag with no residual air left in the bag. Air left in the bag caused Freezer burn and made them very stale. Bottom line .... they were very stale. We attempted to contact the head office via their email address as posted on their website as well as on their "Contact Us" form on the website. In both instances, no reply.
I ordered the pumpernickel bagels + sesame bagels. They were a step down from grocery store level bagels which is seriously disappointing. Also, $3.99 for 100 grams of cream cheese, fine, I accept... but the cream cheese that arrived was expired and caused some serious stomach issues. All in all, don't waste time, you're better off buying from No Frills.
Always fresh and delicious. It would be better if the staff did not consider everyone as a life long bagel fan! Fair menu options. Cheese and other ingredients looked good
There are positive and negative points that I would like to talk about. Firstly, the line was extremely long during lunchtime when I visited the store, but there was only one staff taking orders, making orders and cashing out, so disappointed. The bagel and filling tasted flavorful but a little bit sweet to my preference.
Terrible food quality and rude staff
Worst place worst service. Do not waste yours money and time for nothing.
Food was delicious
Great! Pumpernickel bagel very fresh and tasty! The lox and cream cheese was terrific! Go! Eat! No disappointment here! Vegetarian options: Yes Parking: Tough... its Leaside... Wheelchair accessibility: No
The fave bagels of our household. Bayview location the best as they bake inhouse and its always fresh. Slightly sweet with the right amount of chew.
Fresh made bagels, wide variety of very good bagel sandwiches. Friendly service, patio seating.
One of the best places to get bagels and a staple of the community in Leaside.
There was a long line and a lady walked in and ordered without realizing there was a line, the server insisted on serving her altho the lady tried to get in line, people in line werent happy. I finally get to the front, the server takes my order then immediately takes the order of the 2 people behind me. She makes their order and asked me what did i order again. She cashed both of them out before me and neither of the customers seemd to care. This place caters to a certain demographic and I hate to say this but it felt like being a poc wasnt helping me
Its confusing when you walk in as a new customer. Staff inattentive, doesnt help. Food itself was okay.
Best bagel place in the whole world even better than Montreal bagels Kid-friendliness: Always kind to kids Food : 5/5 |
Good place when you want food late at night or anytime
Terrible customer service. Rude staff. They microwave their eggs and bacon
Yummy
if 0 stars was a rating i would give this establishment a 0. no customer service and the employee raise their voice on the customer Food : 1/5
Garbage bagels.
Is not a hygienic environment. No gloves, hair net or anything related. On top of that bagels weren t fresh, and the attendant didn t offer vegetables or anything on the sandwich, I got a salmon and lox and anywhere else is not only salmon and lox on a sad bagel. Definitely needs to train better the employees and be more attentive to hygiene.
A strong meh. Generally good but expensive. Service is ok but not great. And their online ordering app accepts orders, but the Bagel House doesnt always process them.
It s our first time here at The Bagel House, kitchen staff were friendly, I ordered a few bagels for my family and as I was waiting to pay and pick up my order, the lady who worked at the cashier asked me what my order was, caught off guard, I couldn t rmb all the bagels orders and she was flustered and annoyed. It was just me and another costumer waiting so I really didn t understand what rendered such poor service. One of the kitchen staff was kind enough to jump in and help her. Not every customer is a regular here and I wasn t expecting to repeat my list of orders without her putting the effort to check with her team? On top of that, my husband was disappointed with the BLT he ordered - I didn t share my encounter with him then, no point of ruining the day because of one rude person - he said the bagel was tough and didn t taste fresh. Very disappointing first visit on many fronts. Will not return in the future.
Bagels were dry and stale. My jaws tired just from eating half of one. Staff were rude and unnecessarily cold. Other comments saying the bagels are fresh were either lucky they got a fresh batch, or planted comments. AVOID THIS PLACE
Go to the bagel house on eglinton. Staff over there cares about your sandwich and it feels clean, where the people working at this location make terrible sandwiches and cook your egg with dirty dishes. Cash was also just rude/ didnt seem to have a care in the world about the food she was handling. I would not be suppressed to find out a lot of people get sick after eating here. I will not return to THIS location.
Breakfast sandwich hit the spot! Ill be back.
My bro yash
They have the freshest bagels made in-house in front of you and their unique variety of cream cheeses are phenomenal. I always go with the lox cream cheese and whole wheat bagel.
The service has gone downhill. There is 1 person (extremely unfriendly I might add) working during the breakfast rush in the morning. I stood there for 10 mins while he filled pickup orders and never even greeted me or started my order. I left and won t be back.
I have been a customer here for my entire life. I recently went on Thursday, May 2nd at night to buy bagels and the employees were extremely rude for absolutely no reason. I will not longer be being buying ANY food here. The employees intentionally made our bagels worse, including way less toppings than normal, because they had a bias against us for no reason. Extremely disappointed.
Good selection of cheeses, but quite pricey. As for the bagels, the selection was very limited when were there, possibly because it was early afternoon and the may have sold out. But the bagels (we tried 2 kinds) were likely the worst Montreal-style bagels we ever had. Tough (possibly, not enough time given to rise), and with too much sugar and too much sesame, which instead of complementing the taste overwhelmed it instead. Not recommended for bagels, as there are other bagel shops around Toronto, with better tasting bagels.
Pleasant place and VERY Pleasant Staff.) It is too bad, it is so small w such limited seating, Perhaps They are not interested in customers that would like to sit to Enjoy Their food for a bit just grab n go Clients. Unfortunately Their washroom is not accessible that is too bad as well,) It seems Their Customers are pretty loyal; friendly cordial w each other I realize rents are out of control but I really hope Jesse might consider a larger location (preferably on Bayview They do say 3rd times the charm ) I appreciate the 24 hours / 365 days Parking: Parking has ALWAYS an Issue on Bayview, ALWAYS at a Premium, even paid parking and the ticketing is vicious; but BAYVIEW is worth the trip; interesting shops, good food selections pleasant and friendly proprietors. Lots of Great dog watching (I Absolutely love dogs) People in the neighbourhood are warm and friendly too. There are bus stops and it is a nice walking area. Wheelchair accessibility: Sadly NOT At All but neither is McSorley s / People don t give accessibility any thought UNTIL it impacts Their lives BUT Lives Can Change In A Heartbeat.
Best effing bagels in the city !! v nice staff <33
Good decent bagel, I got the BLT. You can t go wrong with that! The coffee is self serve and the service was good. A good spot for fresh Montreal bagels.
Greatest Bagels and sandwiches and staff in town
Amazing bagels
Order a baguen with salmon spread and came with nothing on it please check picture I beleive is a rip off they change over $ 7.48 for the baguen I do not recommend this place been here before but present stuff are not trained properly of the just they don t want customers to return
Bagel was not very good. Long line for what? $3.50 plain bagel with plan cream cheese. Tasted gross.
Extremely rude, they are, in particular, the manager (who I believe is the owner as well). I received the worst customer service ever along with attitude. Service
Never fails
Club sandwich with Avocado Vegetarian options: When available the avocado Sandwich is my first choice Food : 4/5 |
the old man is a douche bag and there are cockroaches everywhere Vegetarian options: cockroaches Food : 1/5 |
My BELT bagel was without egg
Great bagels, but the service is terribly slow. The prices have also increased drastically above the quality of bagels.
Fresh but very blend
If your into Montreal style bagels this place is it. Its chain business so there are plenty of locations throughout GTA. I like the Bayview location cos they have whole wheat bagels without the seasme seeds. Theyre delicious!
Expect to wait 10 mins before getting your order taken, and other 10-15 mins before they make it. It takes them 3 people to make 1 sandwich. Bagels are also stale
Montreal bagels made in house.
Great bagels! The salmon cream cheese is amazing and included chunks of real smoked salmon. Plus theyre open 24 hours so I was able to grab some bagels when most things on the street were closed.
I m a big on bagel sandwich, I got the club it was good I would buy again but my personal opinion the best bagel house in the city for price and taste is This place called Timmys bagels 2834 Markham Rd, Scarborough, ON M1X 1E6 they also have the best hot food table such good quality.
Do not recommend! I got a lox and cream cheese. I am allergic to onions and do not like capers meaning only salmon and cream cheese in the sandwich. I asked without three times due to the employee asking me twice, which is perfectly fine. I got my sandwich and there were onions in it. I told the employee in front of me there I asked without the onions. They apologized and proceeded to give me another one. The girl who served came to me and said that I said with, that I wanted onions and I was wrong. I just told her again I said without three times. I got my sandwich and went home and when I opened it there was a single onion left in it and the smell of onion. Meaning they used the exact same bagel as before. I did not eat it and will not be returning. Rude customer service.
I like your Bagels. Im disappointed that when I ordered a dozen today around 12pm and only got 11 Bagels after arrived home.
Good bagels, but they cant count. Short changed too many times. Moving on from this shop.
Traditional Olde world wood fired smell permit through the sence of smell something more than greed an understanding of balance between quality and invited cost as you draw up on this uncompromising brick and mortar store to the public!
They have the best bagels
15$ for a dozen bagels... No thanks
love the bagels!
they dont care about anyones order, those who come after you go before you.
Great food, but the service is generally disappointing. Zero love/pride goes in to their sandwich preparation, and staff seem unhappy all the time. Tough job, but management could choose to improve working conditions or remuneration in hopes of better employee and customer experiences.
Great bagel store in Leaside. Friendly service, good selection.
I have been eating here for many years. This is the best bagel in Toronto. It is different from Internet celebrity stores. It is very traditional and simple but delicious. I must buy it every time I pass by.
Horrible. Poor MTL bagels. Dont even heat them.
The customer service wasn t that great. The sandwich could have been a lot better I was disappointed with the service generally speaking and that left a bad taste in my mouth
Could not find a worse operation. Staff are less than useless.
First received a wrong item, then got it but found a hair on my bagel. I love this place but somehow they have changed
I have been there couple of times but still don t understand the hype. Pretty expensive I would say taste was not so bad , but not worth it in my opinion.
Always good.
Great bagels. Super sandwiches. Yummy spreads and fantastic liver pate
Fresh fresh Montreal style bagels. Great pastries too!!
I really wanted to like this place because it s super close to home. But I found the bagels to be meh and the service to be even worse. Doesn t even compare to kettlemans
I entered the premises with my service dog. The person behind the counter told me I could not have my dog inside. I told him that it was a service dog (the vest also says so). The server said a service dog is just a label but okay it s a service dog . I felt unwelcome and was treated rudely. I did not appreciate the sarcastic tone. I won t be going back.
Bagels are amazing, no doubt about it, good quality ingredients. Service can be improved for pick up, you can be standing there for 10 minutes until they care to notice, and if you call them they act surprised. Also, using their app is cheaper but they often miss the orders and you could be waiting even longer.
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE FOOD AREA PERSONNEL IS WITHOUT CLOSED TOE SHOES, NO HAIR NET OR FACE MASK , USING EARPHONES WHILE MANIPULATING PRODUCTS THAT ARE GONNA BE CONSUMED BY YOUR CUSTOMERS, MUCH MORE BAD THINGS THAT I CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURE BUT WHATEVER...
Went to buy bagels and compare them to previous ones I have bought. I saw that they were exactly like bagels I had bought in Montreal and did not like but bought only a few anyway. I was right once I had one. I feel the best bagels in this city come from Gryfes on Bathurst.
Good bagels and quick service.
The bagels I got today were clearly yesterdays. Not good at all and not worth the long wait.
Have been a huge supporter of Bagel House for years. However, I will no longer be spending a cent here or stepping foot inside. There is an extremely sexist and degrading older male that works here. My order was made incorrectly and I went back to politely ask for it to be fixed. To which the older man accosted me, degraded me and told me it was my fault the order was wrong. He mocked in front of dozens of customers and all the staff just stood there and did nothing. Overall, extremely unprofessional. Avoid.
Sexist, rude manager or owner. Cannot believe how I was treated as a paying customer. I left in shock with my bagels, and only to find they were stale. Way better places in the city to get actual Montreal bagels, and kinder service.
Favorite go to. I love that they have hamantaschen off season :) Wish they had coconut bagels!
Bagels were dry and old and had the thinnest spread of cream cheese on them! Dont go here not worth at all! Cream cheese wasnt even flavorful
Amazing service, super friendly hard working staff, delicious fresh bagels and lunch items. The ONLY reason Im not giving 5 stars is because there is no tip option on the card machine. The majority of customers pay with card these days, and the hard working staff here dont deserve to lose tips for what could be a simple fix from the owner. If youre reading this, and you want 5 stars, please address this issue ASAP. THANKS
Raw disgusting bagels, happened twice in less than two months!!!! We have gone here for over 20 years and have generally been very pleased. However, I have to warn others that the quality has gone down. In such a short time we have had raw bagels twice ( dough raw in the middle) and pastrami that had gone bad. I called to speak to the manager, Sam, he said that they were rushed this morning and if I like then I can exchange them. Not even any compensation was offered, and I always leave a good tip. I find the people that work there are generally nice, but I do not want to go back again. They have lost a dedicated customer. Sad to see you go, we shall find another fabulous place.
Open 24/7 that is great! Bagels are are obviously fresh, service is quick. Highly recommend if youyin the area especially after-hours.
Fabulous ..thanks
I saw a full size cockroach (1.5 inches in length) inside the display case, walking over multiple bagels. I also saw a baby roach (3-5mm in length) inside the display case. I told the staff behind the cash that I saw a full size roach and the staff informed me that an exterminator was on sight. There were customers placing orders behind me and the patio area was full of customers eating food. I am disgusted that the owner has it open with an exterminator in to treat for bugs AND FULLY GROWN COCKROACHES INSIDE THE DISPLAY WALKING ON THE BAGELS.
They wear gloves but use the same gloves to answer the phone and open doors..very unsanitary and disappointing
Small store dont expect to be able to eat inside but very good bagels and food at a reasonable price. If you want a quick bite to do that filling and affordable this is a great stop.
I eat this for lunch every time Im near it
Should have more whole and multi grain options
I used to love The Bagel House. Unfortunately, the quality at this location has gone down. This was the 2nd time where the bagels tasted stale and dry when I bought them fresh. On top of that, one large cream cheese was over $20.
Best bagels in Toronto... customer service can you use some work, but they mean well and want to give you the fresh stuff. Open 24 hours!
Best bagel in town.
One of the best Montreal style bagels in the city. Friendly staff and great selection of bagel flavours as well as cream cheese, and a few other goodies. Recommend going early or calling to find out when the flavour you like is freshest because you just can t beat that hot out of the over taste!
Stale bagels
They do not skimp out on the cream cheese and the lox was nicely portioned! A bit pricey but worth the once in a while treat!
Always a problem ordering here.
One of the best Bagel outlet in the city. Super tasty bagels.
...if you wanna bagel with cream cheese... this is the place... busy on friday night though.. worthy
Awesome tasting bagels!
Love this spot. You can get bagel fresh out of the oven. We sometimes buy a bag for the week to take home but they are best enjoyed fresh. They are generous with their cream cheese. My husband likes the breakfast sandwiches. Good luck to them!
Former Montrealer here. I love these bagels, especially the sesame. Their cream cheeses are flavourful and balanced. My favs are the salmon and the chili/coriander.
Always fast and fresh. I like their bagel sandwiches and the fact that theyre always open.
You wait in line a bit and instated to wonder why. Now that I have had the bagels I get it. Worth the wait. Lots of variety, spreads, cheeses. Will return. Open all night too.
Save the trip to Montreal, get your bagel fix at The Bagel House at 1548 Bayview Avenue., Toronto. Good variety, good price and great taste! The staff are super friendly and very accommodating. I ll be making this a regular take out location.
Best egg salad in the city, Ive ordered the egg salad on a twister bagel with double egg salad probably 40 times, it never gets old. I ve tried the egg salad at all the top 20 bagel places in Toronto, this is the best by far. They don t skimp on portion size either which I greatly appreciate. And prices are extremely fair, which makes me want to support their business even more. Never had a bad order from them, ever. Or a stale bagel. 10/10 thanks so much!! I was the person who ordered all the egg salad last night through UberEats lol
Bagels are truly Montreal style! Excellent!
1st time at bagel house and was pretty impressed with their bagels, big hefty delicous BELT bagels served all day for 6.75 taxes incl, and this place is open 24hours! And their roasted red pepper cream cheese is great, give this place a try if your in the area.
Always hot and fresh. Similar to Montreal style but not exactly. These days, anything at a grocery store is frozen and placed on the shelfs left to defrost at room temperature. This is so much better thsn anything from a grocery store.
A nice store with good bagels, sandwiches and other goodies. Because the store is so small, it is not a great place to sit and enjoy your food. Because the store is open 24 hours, you can get something to eat any time of day or night! Sandwiches run the full gamut BLT, bacon and egg, cream cheese (Many flavours) and smoked meat. Coffee is not great but OK. Of Course there is a full selection of bagels to take home along with other tasty snacks.
My bagel was fine. I saw them clean the wood that the finished bagels sit on with windex, not food safe and definitely dangerous. I addressed this to the kids working there and they didn t care. Didn t think there was anything wrong with it. Soap and water or vinegar works and are food safe.
I drive about 45 minutes to go and get my favorite poppy seed bagels!
Reasonably price. Bagels are not quite of the consistency of the Montréal style, but they have a good assortment of options, including filled savory pastries and, something that you must try- a bagel pizza.
I can t leave -minues star, otherwise I wouldn t give one star! We just got home! Bought 4 bagels and one cinnamon roll. Bagels are okay, not fresh though, but the cinnamon roll is a disaster! There are molds on it! Never go back to this store! Ewwwwww
I love this place because I work at night and it is open 24 hrs and I can buy good food late at night. Their service is good and they prepare your food within 5-10 min.
My favourite
Always excellent service, always a wonderful atmosphere, always wonderful food.
Fast, quick service.
Love their bagels 10/10 bagels for sure . but wouldn t you think of serving the customers in store first before making pick up orders? And maybe having more than 1 staff member working in the morning???
Employees dont care about giving out orders. And give out incorrect ones consistantly
This place doesnt look so amazing from outside. Hell it doesnt even give off a wow factor inside! Let me tell you though, this is THE place. The staff are friendly polite and make great food. I showed up at 5:30 am (its 24h) and the staff treated me like a king! Made me fresh coffee, a delicious sandwich, a hot chocolate and asked what more they could do. Its a bagle shop but they staff and food would better fit a mid level restaurant. I hope I can go back, they are amazing
Ive been to this store several times. The bagel is super tasty, but today I was treated so badly that I will never go back there. The cashier (probably the owner) was so rude that I left the place crying.
Garbage customer service very racist establishment and the foods trash. Better off going to Tim Hortons at that point. Tell the owner to learn how to treat his customers of all race and color. I witnessed this to another client while present. Would GIVE a -1000 the guys a toolbag.
Horrible customer service!!! The older man working was very rude to my girlfriend!
Awesome place for a quick bite! Patio is dog friendly as well :)
Delicious freshly baked bagels. Some additional baked goods are for sale as well - the apple cinnamon flavoured items are delicious.
Fresh and delicious.
Great bagels
They have variety of bagels and flavoured cream cheese spreads , yummy!!
Great bagels, always fresh!
Great bagels, sandwiches, much more, good food and staff, outdoor seating
Sick bagels. Great service as well
Used to be worth going out of your way for, but something has changed and it s average at best or maybe a bit below. Bagels aren t fresh anymore. And bagelboard is soft and soggy and not worth purchasing. I bit into my bagel board leaving the store and asked if it s meant to be crispy as mine was mushy, and she said it is meant to be soft. Then I bought some from a competitor and they were crispy and much better. Hopefully they improve overall, it really used to be going out of our way for. The pretzels are still good at least.
Awesome traditional bagels. I stop whenever Im passing by
Bagels are always fresh. There always seems to be piping hot bagels coming out if the oven!!
Best Bagel and honey all the time. Staffs have very good customer service. Highly recommended.
Super delicious! Ive often had a bagel when its still warm from the oven!
Best Montreal style bagels in town. Everything bagel is a must get. Freeze extras. Easy to reheat - just microwave to defrost and toast. Comes out like fresh baked!
Yummy.
Some of the best bagels in Toronto!
The bagles in this establishment are not consistent. The dozen bagles we got today, ten are dry as wood and two are suitable. Give this place a miss.
The best bagels I had so far in Canada - fresh, home-made Montreal style bagels baked in a wood oven for a more than reasonable price.
Best Bagels hands down
Love my bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon and onions!
I love their bagels theyre very good I drive-in from Cobourg to get them open 24 hours which is great
Fresh bagles.
Great bagels, coffee so-so
Fresh bagels 24 /7/365. Best on TO.
Best place to get a Montreal style bagel in Toronto
I ve ordered from this location for delivery or take out multiple times, hoping next time I ordered would be different. This is my last time ordering from this place!! There has not been ONE TIME where I received my accurate complete order! Either it s missing a salad or a bagel or wrong topping and this time our juice!! How hard is it to double check the order before giving it to the customer/driver ??? Even when I called to let them know they sent me straight to voicemail. What a joke of a place.
Nice place.
Great bagels! Fresh and tasty.
Closest youll find to Montreal bagels in Toronto!
Friendly staff. Super fresh bagels.
Great selection of bagels and 24/7 hours are extremely accommodating
Great bagels. Love my sesame bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. After a hike or a bike ride, perfect place to grab something for a quick bite. Long line up for Sunday Breakfast;)
This place has the worst customer service ever. Come here if you like being cut in line by other customers and then have staff do nothing about it when you raise the concern. In fact - they tell you it was your own fault!
Excellent Montreal style bagels for connoisseurs. Downgraded because I paid for a dozen bagels and they put only 10 in the bag.
Customer service is not available today. Called in sick. The older man wasn t gentle. Clearly understaffed and he just wanted me out. Never again if its the last and best bagel on earth.
Yummy bagels, fair price
Montreal style bagel in Toronto. Love it!
Bagels are average at best. Nothing close to St Viateur by comparison. We were going to try a sandwich until we saw the preparation. Only one (recycled) plastic glove being used by servers on a very cramped prep station, dirty containers where ingredients are kept, flies... just not clean.
This place is serious about bagels: Montreal style bagels with tangy cream cheese. Just go.
Love the bagels can t stand the service!! Hire more people please!
The woman working was very rude. I love bagels here, but I will never come again, I have never met such a rude employee in any restaurant in my life.
