organic and vegan baked goods with gluten-free options; baked fresh daily with love since 2012, in an environmentally conscious space
I used to love this place and go all the time for cinnamon buns. I went back recently and the quality has gone down drastically but the prices have gone up. Sad to say the cinnamon buns are no longer good. The service is also terrible. I ordered a bagel toasted with cream cheese to go, they gave me the cream cheese in a take away container rather than putting it on the $8 bagel….
I got a cinnamon bun, it was just ok. The place looks nice but it's super crowded. Only one person preparing the drinks, so I had a 15-minute wait. Just as they were preparing my latte I was told they don't offer cow's milk, which I wasn't told before. I won't be coming back.
I bake a mean vegan Cinnabon but their’s is through the roof. 🤯 I couldn’t put it down! Cool Ranch Wrap is good in a pinch. Latte was ok. Bought a few more pastry items. Might edit this later and share my thoughts on them. All the staff were super friendly and sweet. Would definitely recommend Tori’s Bakeshop!
Are you looking for some sweet treats that are dairy free, and fully vegan well Tori’s Bake Shop in The Beaches will not only fulfill your cravings, but want you going for more. The staff is amazing. The shop features positive, upbeat vibes. Anything you can do Tori can do Vegan. Plant based dairy has come a long way and Tori’s bakery aims to impress. Best part, no animals were harmed in the making.
On a wet and chilly November day like today, coming upon a place like this is literal heaven on earth! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly baked desserts and brewed coffee! I got their lavender London fog and brownie cupcake! Can't wait to pass by again!
A selection of vegan and glutein free fresh, organic, delishious treats. I come for the delishiousness and the cozy setting, missed out on the soups, but they do have that and sandwiches too. Today it smelled like cinnamon, so it had to be cinnamon roll :) Come try it some time, you will jot be disappointed!
My latest discovery on Queen street East. The bakeshop has an unassuming front entrance and is easy to miss - I am so happy I found it. A beautiful and subtly decorated interior feels very cozy, I loved the colour theme - subdued mint/green (with matching "for here" cups!). the counter display is a feast for eyes (and stomach of course!) - I tried a savoury hand pie (with mushroom/lentils filling) and it was absolutely delicious (warmed up). I can't wait for my next visit at the store. Besides the baked goods there is an espresso bar, pressed juices and a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. All food is vegan.
Located in the beaches on the corner of Queen and Balsam. There is on street parking out front and also on the side streets. Very friendly crew and great products. Grabbed an assorted. Box of pastries to enjoy and could not be any happier. They have both regular and gluten free goods for all to enjoy with their large selection of beverages. Will definitely swing by more often to sample their other goodies
I walked in to get a bagel with butter a few months ago. They gave me the bagel wrapped up with cold butter on the side. I was wearing my newborn baby in a carrier and she was screaming as tired babies do, and they just watched me struggle to butter in $8 bagel. Terrible service.
Very beautiful and polite lady was serving today, appreciate the service and delicious cinnamon cakes
This used to be a staple of ours every time we are in the beaches. When we went in yesterday, we were greeted by a hostile server who made us feel very unwelcome. We will not be returning.
I do wish there were more meal options available as I do not particularly love what there is, but I also appreciate the capacity to have a cake donut that doesnt make me sick. They are delicious!
Service was aweful. no cup lids. the server also did not tell us when our order got ready. FYI we are not required to pay tip for 24$ order of coffee.
(Updated my review to reflect my full experience) +Delicious sugar free berry cake! +Kindly facilitated a custom order request, and on short notice -Communication difficulties -Butter croissant was more like a donut, and sadly not good I contacted Toris for a custom cake inquiry - I wanted a smaller sugar free berry cake for my babys cake smash as the 6 on their website was too big, but the ingredients were perfect and better than anything else I could find in the area. It was VERY hard to get ahold of them (never answer the phone, Instagram DMs were responded with Well check! but no follow-through beyond No update yet but try calling the shop!). However, once I got through to someone by email, although it took some lengthy back and forth, they were very accommodating and were kindly able to facilitate my custom order as an exception, even on short notice. I really appreciated this, and happily, the cake was perfect and delicious! (Not too sweet, tasty, and the perfect size.) Sadly, I did not find the in-store offerings to be very good, which is unfortunate because I was excited to see that the pastries were non-dairy, which is hard to find. The matcha latte was a dull green (green vibrancy is indicative of matcha quality) and was below average (I drink a lot of matchas), and the butter croissant was truly awful (had the taste and texture of a sweet donut - at first I thought I was given a donut by mistake, but it was in fact the croissant). I would return for the order-ahead cakes, but not for anything in the cafe.
Their banana caramel donut is just amazing and the coffee is good too:)
This place used to be so awesome! I was really disappointed with my very pricy drink today. I paid for a large but she made a small. I pointed it out, no big deal, but then she asked me if I wanted the small. No I paid for a large. I asked for it to be extra hot and it was just lukewarm, and it had a bit of an off taste to it but I couldn t be bothered to deal with it further. I m sad to hear that it s changed hands because it s not the same and I definitely won t be back.
I got a chocolate birthday cake for my wife and even my kids couldn t handle how sweet it s the cake. If I close my eyes, it seems I m eating a spoon of sugar. Dietary restrictions: It s vegan
Over-priced. These ingredients are not more expensive to purchase because they are turned into vegan food. The ovens arent doing alchemy, and above all, the quality is not the same since they changed ownership
Wow, what happened to Tori s, place was a gem, now staff read books while we get to sit next to a bunch of dead bugs. Was gonna sit outside, but who wants to sit next to that? Also, the selection here used to be at a much higher level. Sorry
I really love their almond muffins.
The muffins were rubbery and stale. I dont recommend.
Clouie the barista was so sigma! My drink was bussin, and the bathroom had a skibidi inside! The place had +10000 aura and the staff mogged me! They are such sigmas!!!!! 1000/10 gyatt
Back in the summer of 1972, in Pasadena Texas, I was with my friends at the beach when I saw the most beautiful woman I have ever set eyes on. In that very moment, I vowed to marry her one day. From a friend of a friend, I later learned her name was Tori. After work, I used to drive over to the pier in my busted old Ford F-100, and hope to catch a glimpse of her - Once I worked up the courage to talk to her, I learned the crush was mutual. We grew very close, and it wasnt long before we were dating. I look back fondly on those warm nights at the drive-in, nestled closely in the bed of my truck; or when we would take hits of the devils lettuce, and listen to her record player - we really bonded over our love of Genesis. By 1978, she had graduated college, and I was managing a Mcdonalds in town. Every time I got a paycheck, I saved as much of it as I could, until I could buy a ring that I knew she had had her eyes on. I proposed, she said yes, and we had our wedding in June of that year. I remember seeing her, in her frilly lace dress, and thinking back to the very first time we met in 1972. I had done it - married the most incredible woman. We were so happy. We had 2 children - Phil and Floor, 2 years apart, and they were our pride and joy. Tori and I loved them unconditionally, and our house was always filled with love, laughter, and music. We couldnt wait to watch them grow up and lead lives of their own, and I couldnt wait to grow old with Tori, the love of my life. On December 23rd, 1984, Tori went to take the kids to a movie, while I finished wrapping our Christmas presents. A semi-truck collided with the car, and that was it. All 3 were gone instantly. I have been crushed ever since that awful, awful day. I spend a lot of time wondering what Im still doing here, without them. I quit my job and moved out of Pasadena, and tried to travel, but everything reminds me of them. Every single day, I wish that I had been in that car with them, or that I could somehow trade my life for the three of them. A few days ago, I passed through Toronto, and saw the sign for Toris Bakeshop. I thought what the hell - maybe this was some kind of message from God. I went in, and the staff were all so kind. One of the baristas there, Chloe, looked just like Tori, and it took everything I had not to break down right there. I got the purple lemonade, and while I sipped it, I thought back to the lemonade that Tori used to make for the family when it was hot out. It tasted perfect. Since then, my suffering hasnt eased in the slightest, but I think that when I die, I would hope to come back as a worker at Toris bakery.
I got the grimace lemonade which wasn t as purple as I had hoped but it was really good 10/10
Gluten free donuts are a blessing for my mouth. Friendly staff and cute atmosphere
Tasty cupcakes. Sadly it went vegetarian fully and they dont have regular milk anymore. Coffee is ok.
They use coconut milk in most of their products which they shouldnt ever do. Coconut is a very common allergy and this was something I had to ask about; there was no signage about potential allergens. Also customers were allowed to oeer over their lackluster sneeze guard/display glass. Dietary restrictions: They use coconut milk in most of their products Wheelchair accessibility: No room for wheel chairs through door or in store. No automatic doors. Has to actually turn a nob to get inside.
vanilla cupcake was not good. sad to have spent over $5 on it
Wish I read reviews before buying their gluten free treats. It was awful. NOT FRESH/STALE. Will not be returning.
Second to none! If you re looking for a gluten-free bake shop that not only tastes amazing, but the presentation is incredible and they have exceptional customer service, then you need to go to Tori s Bakeshop! You will not be disappointed! I live north of the city, but we always look forward to stopping by to pick up a few goodies when we are in the city! As well they are our go to when purchasing for special occasions. Honestly, if there was more stars to give I would, this is how much I love this bakeshop! Vegetarian options: Cupcakes, donuts, cakes, you name it! Dietary restrictions: We have people with allergies and that are vegan, and we are able to order stuff that everybody can enjoy and that tastes amazing. This is usually unheard of, but not here.
Everything is vegan here which is a big plus for me: ))) I tried the chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll for my boyfriend. Omg.. They were amazing!!! So tasty and delicious Im so glad I found such a good bakery that isnt limited to 1 or 2 vegan options. Highly recommended!!
Dietary restrictions: Vegan Food
The smoothies were bigger 2 years ago. The smoothies we got this past weekend were $27 for 2. I think thats way too much for what we got. Ripoff
Unusual and tasty baked goods gluten free. Great coffee and tea.
Vegetarian options: Everything I tried was vegan and delicious. Food
I could not recommend a better Bakery in the beaches, Ive been coming here since I was a kid. Their Oatmeal chocolate chip cookie will always be a part of my heart and soul.
This is the second time our family has been to the bakery. Unfortunately, some of the baked goods we ordered were not fresh. My husband had a cheese croissant and said it was as hard as a rock and must be several days old. The pink donut was also hard, so my son just ate the icing. The gluten free muffin (with flax and fresh berries) was the only fresh item and was delicious. I d return only for the muffin. The weekend staff were not overly warm and seemed inconvenienced by you placing an order - definitely not good customer service skills. The bakery itself has a nice vibe and seems comfortable.
AVOID at all cost, bad service, bad coffee, BAKERY NOT FRESH AT ALL. Only good thing is the decoration!
Plant Based Gluten Free deliciousness! First time customer and I look forward to my second visit. Thank you, the baked goods were a birthday success
Highly recommend their nanaimo bars and cinnamon rolls. Their vegan cream cheese in the fridge is also really good.
They have many different food restrictions in mind so a variety of eaters can enjoy. Their food is hit and miss, example: chocolate donuts good the white not. Cute atmosphere, nice service. Not appropriate for all celiacs due to not being a gluten free facility. As a celiac, I had the most delicious gf oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and still wanted to live after, but yes it s eat at your own risk.
The cafe is so cute that I was sucked in and absolutely fooled! The coffee was foul. FOUL. And I gave it two more chances and every time it was foul. The pastries are also inedible? I can t understand why anyone would go back? I m convinced people go here for the cute decor because it CANT POSSIBLY be the coffee. You d have to lack the sense of taste to waste money here.
They don t answer their phone and will cancel your order on you the day of without notice.
Picked up some banana chocolate chip muffins and cupcakes - they were okay super dense not amazing
Hidden gem !! The smell and look in here make me feel sooo happy the nicest staff! Vegan almond lattes amazing!! Like seriously amazing the best almond lattes we have ever had! Foamy yet rich in flavour! You have to come by here when in Toronto especially if heading to Woodbine beach! But really anywhere!!
Soo over priced. Had 2 very small and very mediocre lattes and a lemon poppy seed slice for 21 bucks! The lemon slice was super dry and sugary. The only reason why I didnt give them one star is because the inside of the cafe is very cute and cozy
Cute little coffee shop with great drinks and muffins. Staff were friendly and helpful too.
A small basic drip coffee is served in an extra small espresso cup - yet a full price is charged. It s actually offensive to charge people for a small coffee and serve such a portion. However, service is good and staff understood my concern.
I do not so like to write about a busniess in any way an negitive way but... Toris was very diappointing to me and some of our guess this weekend. I bought 18 cupcakes which cost $5 each which total $90. They have free delivery over $80 which was very handy. We had a birthday party and my wife wanted cupcakes instead a usual cake. I have went to Toris in the past and found it to be magical. Todays cupcakes where anything but magical, they seemed to be on the small side, flavours where not on point and some of them where dry. Pleople at the party asked where did I get these in the neg sence and so enjoyed them. The croud was split, on ordering again or not. I know my reponce to Toris Bakeshop would be a hit but a miss in the cupcake isle. Alot of money spent on these 2 star cupcakes.
Love their gluten free goodies and relaxed vibe.
Outstanding quality baking and wonderful service. We have so many wonderful memories here, from the time my son over the years. Thank you for adding your unique touch to the beaches community.
The grilled veggie sandwich and green smoothie will keep me coming back for more. 10/10
Come on!! Answer your phone! Dont refer me to your website or tell me to email. I have a very specific question and I cant get a hold of anyone at your business.
The food here is so yummy and healthy too
Very nice little vegan cafe. Deserts were great. Coffee was great. Super friendly and good vibes place!
Cute bake shop in the Beaches. Really loved the pineapple coconut cupcake
I ordered cupcakes and mini donuts from Toris and they were excellent! Service was also amazing, I will definitely be back!
Picked up a TGTG box from here recently after having their treats for last year s birthday had forgotten how tasty their stuff is. The gluten-free items aren t as dense and chalky as such things tend to be, though you still can tell the difference. A bit pricey regularly but the day-olds are a steal!
Yummy & fresh vegan baked goods and coffee (among other things). If they have them available I definitely recommend trying their chocolate croissant and focaccia.
Warm and welcoming. Perfect for a rainy day
Randomly went into this bakeshop as the shop down the street was closed to take away. I had the cereal cupcake, which was as sweet as youd expect. It was good overall... frosting was just ok. Not sure what they made the frosting out of but it felt mellow. The service was really friendly and beach vibes. Free water to customers was nice.
Glad I found this bakery store. This is exactly what I am looking for - healthy dessert and bakery. I love the variety and unprocessed ingredients used in the bakery.
Love Tori. She is a wizard for anything vegan and gluten free.
Great Vegan baked treats
Really nice people a lot of gluten free options. Gluten free and dairy free muffins and cookies. I tried their banana muffin, oatmeal and chocolate chip cookie aswell as their genmaicha green tea all were amazing. Would definitely recommend
I picked the Fresh Seasonal Berries With Coconut Whip and I was pleasantly surprised with how balanced the cake was I loved every part of the cake, Im so happy I could enjoy cake on my birthday.
We went into your shop this afternoon and had two cans of beer, which were fine, but then my partner got a supposed pint of the house beer - Burdock chateau, and I got a pint of kombucha and a cupcake. The thing is, neither the beer or the kombucha were in pint glasses. I asked the server about it and she replied, these are the glasses we use and my manager told me to use them. I informed her again that the glasses were not a pint and she said something about the beer being French or was it the owner being French and that maybe its a French pint. Ive never heard anything so ridiculous in my life! A pint is a pint, its an imperial unit measure thats been around for 500+ years and it doesnt alter or change from one country to another. I find it deceiving that you charge $8.50 for a pint that isnt even a pint. Thats such a rip off. Why not just remove half pint and pint from your menu or maybe just get actual half pint and pint glasses. Gee, what a novel idea! Also your staff were rude and unwelcoming and the cupcake was mediocre and really not worth $4.50 for that size. We will never return to your establishment again will also warn people what a rip off your business is.
Great bakery for gluten free treats. I was very sad when the Canary location closed down.
I was there when Torys bakeshop opened in 2012. It immediately became popular. I would drop by whenever I wanted to cheer myself up and have something warming and decadent to eat. I left Toronto in 2013 and now I want to come back and visit and one of the places I want to take my kids to is Torys bakeshop. I am glad they are still there and doing amazing!
I m not gluten free, but I prefer the GF cinnamon buns at this place over any other non-GF cinnamon buns! Their muffins were decent too. Lavender London fog half sweet with oat milk was tasty. The staff were very friendly. One of the best vegan bakeries I ve been to.
They did an amazing job creating a custom cake for my daughters 8th birthday and were pleasant, friendly, and quick with communication back and forth. Plus all their stuff is delicious. 10/10
I want to give a big kudos to the staff here. Dont get me wrong, the treats are excellent and I love every drink I was able to try while visiting for the weekend. But it was really, a very friendly, and knowledgeable staff that make every visit to Toris a delight. Thanks so much. Ill have to try and make it back next time Im in the city.
Friendly and helpful staff, bright and warm store with lovely and tasty bakery treats. Carries both vegan and GF options
Too good to go surprise bag. I love how these are vegan! It is not everywhere can find a bake shop that specializes in unique productss. I did find these to be very standard tasting cupcakes. Wasnt a lot of variety and wasnt the freshest which is to be expected I guess. Wouldnt return based on price, quality etc
Their cakes are amazing. They have good vegan and gluten-free options, but they are more expensive than your average bakeshop
Nice staff and good gluten free desserts
Of course they made my cake wrong. It wasn t what I asked for. I wanted the sprinkles/stars on top as well but there were none .i spent $70 they juu took my money
Love Tori s Bakeshop. Cozy atmosphere to work in. And healthy food options! The workers are also the sweetest. Fave cafe in the Beaches.
Amazing baked treats, clean and consistent.
Great vegan treats. Bad service accommodating people who cannot wear mask for medical reasons. I stated this to a women and man today at the front. The guy went out of his way saying he can serve me outside. Discrimination for not wearing a mask is unwelcoming feeling when i paying you money not asking for free goods. We are 2 years into this pandemic. Over 80% vaxx, mask and vaxx pass and even with that in place, businesses still have to lock shop. The virus is the media & fear mongering. Yes the government says mandatory Masks, however under the bi-laws exemptions should be honored for people who have medical conditions. This pandemic will be going on for awhile. We have to start to live with it without separating others. Its funny how we fight for human rights for so many issues, yet we discriminate who can enter your shop without mask. I had to stand at the door, while the man told me 3, maybe 4 times I cant enter. My children had to complete the transaction. Good look Tori Bakeshop. By the way, there is another bakeshop with 2 locations who accommodate all patrons and dont ask them to stand outside to purchase. Also, mandates are not law. The laws have not changed under human rights & the bi laws section 6 in the city of Toronto states - exemptions should be honored. Quite distasteful experience today with my children.
Their thumbprint cookies are my favourite!
So so many choices! Gluten free heavenly desserts and wonderful coffees with assortment of non dairy creamers! Fantastic
Cute ambience and display of selection. Great to sit by the street facing windows. Coffee is great and the service is very friendly. The baked goods are very yummy and organic!!
Best vegan baked goods in the city!
The coffee is good. But why is everything so expensive!! Was shocked when I was charged over $8 for a cup of latte. Plus tips on top of that. I gave their baked goods a lot of chances. But its just bad without the dairy and eggs. I honestly dont understand the hype.
Ordered a vanilla birthday cake online, came exactly as ordered and on the day requested with no issues whatsoever. Cake was absolutely delicious, I actually didnt end up taking a slice until 4 days after the cake was delivered as I need to be in the mood for sweet things as I am more of a savory guy. The cake was still moist and fluffy, the icing was just enough to carry the sweetness without overpowering and was also light on the mouthfeel and melted in the mouth almost like whipped cream. I am generally not a fan of the almost liquid sugar type of icing you sometimes get on cakes that sticks to every part of your mouth so the icing on this was damn near perfect! Looking forward to the chocolate cake I ordered for my wifes second family birthday celebration at the weekend and will likely encourage an order for a carrot cake from Toris for my own birthday in May!
Tried your new savoury mushroom lentil turnover today. Delicious!!
Love this place! Yummy options for everyone!
Pretty but too sweet for me.
Gluten free cake melted upon transporting from location to venue - make sure you check care instructions on website as staff wont let you know. Taste was not so great as well - too sweet and cardboard-like flavour. We ended up throwing it out. Make sure to ask for instructions on storage. The cupcakes were delicious so giving them an extra star.
Best beet root lattes in town!
High quality baked goods. The savoury scone was slightly dry for my liking, but the cupcakes were really delicious with unique fillings and stayed fresh for the entire day.
Enjoyed Ice Americano and Scone. I wish they use real glass cup for in cafe customers for less waste.
So cool!
My strawberry lemon birthday cake was awesome, it reminded me of a Victoria Sponge with a lemon kick and everyone marveled at how nice the buttercream was.
Yummy desserts with GF options
AMAZING!!!! I ordered through the TooGoodToGo app and received two mouth watering cupcakes and three delicious doughnuts for $7.99. Everything was incredibly scrumptious and picture picture!! The pastries were fresh and I will definitely be coming here again :) Thank you <3
Fresh baked cinnamon rolls and oat cappuccino says good morning deliciously!
Love their gf donuts! Just sad now the vanilla ones have almond flour as I have a nut allergy. Bring back the nut free, gf options pls!
Lovely place for vegan delights! Good quantity and tasty baked goods.
Tori s Bakeshop not only makes the most delicious gluten free/vegan delights but are truly a pleasure to work with! We recently ordered a custom cake through them and they went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Hands down best GF/vegan bakery in Toronto!
cutest little plant-based coffee shop & bakery EVER! been going here for years and it has never failed to satisfy my tastebuds! coffee is nice & strong they use great espresso beans. donuts & sweets are always delicious & moist. and the staff is always lovely. they even offered to re-fill up our water bottles! 10/10 you have to try it here :)
I took my Mum and Dad to Toris for the first time today. We made a purchase and were back in the car when my Mum asked me to drive back to Toris. She loved the cookies so very much that she immediately wanted to get back to the store to buy a few more! I dont have any pictures just now because we ate them all without any delay. My mom declared that she just added Toris to her list of favourites. Im sure shed try everything on the board in the coming days. Thanks guys! Good luck.
Cupcakes are sooo good. They have some nice drinks as well and if you re lucky, you ll get one of their vegan soy free croissants
Their gluten free options are delicious and the right consistency and texture. Their vegan buttercream is just the perfect sweetness and come in various flavors. Birthday cakes are well priced and quality made.
Came here to try the cupcakes - tastes pretty good for being vegan! Most vegan products I ve tried are grainy or somewhat dry, but their cupcakes are still moist. The icing is VERY sweet if you have a sweet tooth this might be for you, but I find it too sweet for my personal preference.
Plant based bakery offering a variety of sweet and savoury goods. - Potato Focaccia: A bit dry, nice caramelized onion undertone, good density and a bit on the greasy side. - Savoury Scone: could not taste the sun dried tomato but lovely flavour overall. - Peach tart: sweet and good but not enough filling and too much pastry. - Cinnamon bun: excellent, very good. - Butter tart: a bit plain and dry, nice sweetness though. - BLT Sandwich: very good flavour but WAY too greasy because of the coconut bacon. The pesto is wonderful though. Service is friendly and helpful.
I got a Too Good To Go package from Toris and it did not disappoint! Two sea salt brownies, two mini donuts, a jasmine flavoured cupcake and a huge cinnamon role. So good. Brownies and the cupcake are the two winners for sure.
Not very good
Still amazing after many years.
Their chocolate cupcake was delicious, and the staff or owner who served me was so friendly!
Best healthy breakfast in the beaches staff is so sweet and helpful And their seasonal cupcakes are phenomenal!
Been going to Toris for years--best vegan bakeshop in Toronto!
Tori s made my wedding cake! No regrets. The tiered pressed flower cakes are stunning. Thank you, Tori.
Awesome spot for GF DF pastry!
Friendly staff
Adorable Cafe! All coffees are served with soy milk by default so no extra charge for plant milk! I love their cinnamon latte and the cinnamon buns
Amazing bakery lota of vegan options
Amazing deserts, the best gluten free cupcake Ive ever had, better than most regular cupcakes
Staff are always nice and wearing masks. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the baked goods!
When me and my girls dropped by there about a week after Christmas, we waited patiently as from the outside of the bakery, it looked welcoming and festive with garland hanging outside the store. After we purchased 2 chocolate brownies, 2 butter tarts, and 2 snickerdooodles, i regret to say that every single item we purchased was hard and stale. They mustve been displayed at least 2 weeks since prior to Xmas as they were so underwhelming that i just threw them out. I dont mind spending good money for baked goods/pastries but for heavens sake, try them out yourself and say to yourself, Would this make a new customer come back? Is this honestly fresh enough to sell? Would I myself be happy if i had waited patiently outside and paid $30+ dollars for goods that are at least 1.5 week old and so hard? Now i know better as they mislead people with their lovely set up of the store and lovely display when you walk in, however the moment you eat any, you will find out for yourself how hard and stale their goods are...Much more the employees being the Asian lady in her mid to late 20s deceives you by saying every single item is fresh when clearly its NOT!!!
AMAZING CUPCAKES
I am in love. Best gluten free chocolate chip muffin (doesn t taste gluten free at all), it was moist and so yummy I wish I d ordered 2. And then... THE CINNAMON ROLL was the BEST vegan roll I ve ever had and I have tried sooo many. Most are overly sweet and just don t do it right with the flavor but this one is wow! Reminds me exactly of cinnabon from my non vegan days. This is the real deal. The size was good too (a nice generous portion). Unfortunately I didn t enjoy the carrot cake donut.. didn t like the texture was too sweet without a carrot cake flavor.
Such amazing baked treats, love their cinnamon buns and their bagels with their homemade dip is amazing. They have an extensive variety of flavour shots for your lattes including lavender which is hard to come by year round! I always snag a bouquet from a local flowershop as well whenever they have a fresh batch before theyre all gone haha. Women led and also supporting other local shops, love it x
High quality dessert and beverages, lovely employees and an overall beautiful energy. Looking forward to being able to sit inside again. Always enjoy the experience : )
Cinnamon bun was fresh out of the oven! Their thumbprint cookies are a must try as well.
Ordered 6 vegan chocolate cupcakes online for my friend in Toronto (Im in London) - they were delivered as promised & left with concierge. I have confirmation that the vegan chocolate cupcakes were yum! And they hand wrote the gift note too which is a nice touch. So happily recommend them if you live abroad and want to treat your friends/family. Youll just have to deal with the envy of not being able to eat them yourself! ;)
I was on the lookout for gluten-free and dairy-free donuts for my best friends virtual bridal shower and I came across Toris Bakeshop downtown Toronto. I emailed first before placing an order to discuss the dietary restrictions and flavours and received such prompt responses. I was so happy with their communication and most importantly, my best friend absolutely loved the donuts. She said they were delicious! Thanks so much, Toris Bakeshop! Well definitely be returning. (:
Wonderous baked goods. Great and friendly service.
Excellent food, great variety. Highly recommend trying the delectable treats from Toris
If you re planning on going to Glen Stewart s Park, this is a perfect place to grab some snacks. Unfortunately we went in the evening after work and most of their items were sold out since they bake their cookies fresh everyday. The employee was super nice and recommended her favorite cookies that were still available. Can t remember the exact names of the ones we got, but one of them was a chocolate one and the other was an oatmeal one. Both were amazing and super soft - best vegan cookies!
Cinnamon buns are the bomb dot com.
Good selection and vast array of treats to try from. Id give it a 5/5 for the cupcakes and cookies but the gluten free donuts were definitely an acquired taste. Even my kiddos who love donuts would not finish them past the first bite. Unfortunate as they arent cheap. With that said everything else was gobbled up, and we know for next time what our preference are.
Extremely friendly and helpful FOH staff ! Research the style of baking they offer pre- visit!
Great tasting muffins, everything was delicious. Perfect and plant-based!
Love their gluten free donuts the best!
Picked up some seasonal cupcakes, donuts and a selection of local beers/wines. The cupcakes were incredible!!
Very dry, dense and too sweet. Maybe because it s dairy and gluten free? It was packaged nicely with a lovely note.
Great vegan snacks.
I love the thumbprint cookie and the Oatmeal chocolate chip. I do wish they had calorie counts available on their website. I also want to try the butter tart. I saw a picture of it on their Instagram or website. It looks delicious.
The donut and cookie was really awesome
Great quality and service
Great tasting stuff! The carrot cake muffin, recommended by the incredibly helpful and bubbly woman at the counter, was delicious. Even better was the iced Cardamom Chai Latte that I got. It wasn t too strong, yet I was drinking the leftover ice water just to get more of the amazing taste lol. Excellent stuff!
Delicious!!!!Thankyou for making very amazing Everything!!!And the factor that Everything is Vegan Makes Me So Happy!!!
Had the lemon poppy seed loaf and dark chocolate sea salt donut, a must try if youre craving something made fresh and not too abundantly sweet! Perfectly balanced flavours thatll keep you wanting more
(I m celiac) I am always nervous trying new places and their website is honest with the possibility of cross contamination of gluten. I had no reaction and the treats were delicious. super great location on Queen close to the beach.
They are completely unwilling to save a donut for a six year old who s mom is on the way to go there. Not willing to support this business anymore. I will learn to make my own for my child!! Thanks but NO thanks. We have very few places due to allergies I can buy treats for my child. Not willing to help an allergy parent out is horrible!
Best chocolate chip cookies!
Placed an order for delivery and I was SO excited when it arrived. We went for the mixed bag - 6 different treats for $25, such great value! So far we ve tried the scone, chocolate chip cookie, and the croissant muffin. They are all so tasty but the croissant muffin is by far the star. Can t wait to order again!
A friends father recently passed away and rather than sending flowers, I wanted to send a treat to her. I was happy to find Toris Bakeshop offering local deliveries during the lockdown. I order the mixed bag which were six assorted treats. The delivery was well received by my friend! Thank you Toris for such great service and baked goods!
I love this place to death. I cant wait to return when it reopens!
Great Gluten Free Products
I am addicted to the blueberry lavender doughnuts. Absolutely Amazing!
I didnt think it was possible, but the store looks even nicer after the recent renovation! Staff is always friendly and their foccacia and kale/garlic scones have my heart! Im definitely more of a savory over sweet person, but they have some of the best cinnamon buns Ive ever had, and Im not even vegan! Always excited to go back and try more treats!
Cookies were a hit for our guests with allergies and who are vegan at our wedding. It was great to find a list with all ingredients in each item on their website. This is the main reason we went with Toris Bakeshop because our guests could see exactly what was in them to give them reassurance and insure we got something they could eat. Thanks!
Not a bad place, food looks stale sometimes, tiny flies were flying around the cupcakes last time I went...yuck. Their bagel and creamcheese are actually pretty good.
Great to see a local bakery that has various gluten-free options. Unfortunately I found a lot of their baked goods way too sweet. I tried there fall drink cardamom chai and even ordering that 1/2 sweet was still soo sugary. Really wanted to like this place since its near me and has gf options.
Incredible donuts! I m lactose intolerant and my partner can t eat dairy or gluten. I had the pack of six (2 of each delicious flavour) delivered for my partner s birthday and they were such a hit that even the lactose and gluten-friendly young adults in the house gave them 10/10! A perfect match of moisture, flavour and freshness. Thank you!
Toris is, hands down, the BEST bakery in Toronto, especially when it comes to gluten-free goods. The cinnamon rolls are out of this world, the cupcakes are unmatched in deliciousness and dont even get me started on the salty chocolate gluten-free donut. The absolute best. There is not a single bakery in Toronto that even comes close to Toris.
Outstanding quality products, clean and consistent. Lovely staff! The staff is so kind and caring to our little guy everytime he comes in and they have become a part of our family and family tradition for a treat. Thank you for everything-this is our happy place and we appreciate you so much!
They have an excellent selection of vegan baked good. Ive had a few different things from them and they are all very good.
charming little place with yummy options friendly service
Such a treat! I love everything about this place - the food, warm drinks, friendly service and ambiance. Very kiddo friendly, my toddler tried having a nap in the window seat. PS. If youve done the nature walk from Kingston Rd through the Glen Stewart Ravine, Toris bakeshop is a wonderful treat at the end.
Great gluten free cupcakes here!
Terrible baked goods at high prices. I ordered the banana chocolate muffin which i did not realize is gluten free (not labelled). It was awful, so I kindly explained that I didnt realize it was GF while ordering, and the staff offered to swap out the muffin with two bites out of it for something else free of charge. I then ordered the non-GF chocolate chunk cookie, which was also awful.
Today I made a huge mistake! No.....wait! I was mega in the mood for a great scone and I wanted to be close so Tori s popped up in my search. Being me and having no idea this place was vegan and gluten free away I went for my yummy treat and coffee. I walked into this super sweet space loaded with people, the most beautiful baked goods and smiling staff. They had cardamom lattes and I just can t resist. The coffee was well made, good and strong. We ordered a cinnamon bun and blueberry scone and it was suggested they were warmed. This is extra work but they offered and we accepted which on a chilly day was truly welcome. The chewy, stretchy dough on the cinnamon bun was perfect and the scone was a great texture with a little sweet glaze. Thank you Tori for changing the way I look at GF and Vegan. Impressive. Great place for coffee and a fantastic place for gluten free and dairy free baked goods. Only half a dozen or so tables but theres always been a place to sit when weve visited. Highly recommended!!!!! Please remember to like reviews that you find informative so reviewers know what has value to others. Thanks!!!
Sweet
Excellent atmosphere, coffee and baked goods! The vegan BLT is always a go-to for me and my husband always says yes to their cinnamon rolls :)
