While I may not call the Junction home, I’ve discovered that Axis Café is the neighborhood’s best-kept secret. This modest spot is the heart of the area, where locals gather to catch up, swap stories, and soak in the charm of their vibrant community. Whether you're meeting friends, catching up on local gossip, or just enjoying the atmosphere, this is the place to be. Of course, if you prefer solitude, snag a table for one, savor a drink, dive into a good book, and watch the Junction come to life around you. I haven’t yet experienced Axis’s nightlife, but word on the street is that it’s the perfect place to kick off—or wind down—your evening. Their beer selection is solid, ranging from craft brews to the classics, and any bar that serves Pabst Blue Ribbon gets a nod of approval from me. The food? Delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with something on the menu for everyone. So, if you find yourself in the Junction, or are curious to explore, make Axis Café your first stop. You won’t be disappointed.

My favorite spot in Toronto. The food is delicious, the service is quick and polite. It's nice to sit at the patio or go downstairs for a pool table game. The jukebox plays good tunes but can always change the song. It's spacious that your around people but still able to have a private conversation. I recommend the burger it hits the spot. They also make a very good veggie wrap. I have been mixing it up with the daily specials.
Shout outs to chef Siva. Seafood pasta is my go to. I go for the spicy option. Secret Siva sauce for wings is also 🔥
First time coming, we had a very nice server, the food was really good, although the fries were overpriced. Even though it’s more of a bar it even has a kid’s menu. One of my only complaints, which isn’t that important, is that when you sit at the end of the left part of the outside area, there is a fence separating the other side which people smoke behind there and you can smell it really strong through the fence. My food recommendation is the nachos, they were amazing!
Went here for brunch today. The service was welcoming and friendly, prices reasonable and big portions. Due to the fact that it’s a big place, it wasn’t an overcrowded line up for brunch spot. We will be back!
The place has been in that location for a long time so clearly they're doing something right. The service is attentive and friendly. The bar is spacious with a large upstairs and a considerable downstairs as well. I've been a couple of times and both times the bar was far from full, I think it's large size only adds to this empty feeling. They have a somewhat limited but classic beer menu with a couple interesting local beers on tap. Overall if you're in the area and looking for a pint I would recommend stopping in but I wouldn't expect my mind to be blown.
Each day it is worse... Never order mojito or margarita, expensive also bad quality of licor. And draft beer was bad today. The nachos are goods... I was going frequently but really each day is worse, I don't back again.

The lemon garlic aioli in this place is absolutely heavenly. I keep eating fried stuff just to get that dip.
Very few ppl were there and it was still too loud. They need to do work on sound baffles in the ceiling.

Comfortable ! Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp that they can put out at side entrance. Not sure if a wheelchair can fit ? But I use to get in because of my painful hips . Bathroom on main floor too that s why I go there.
Go for breakfast or brunch, not a good evening setting with all kinds of weird florescent ligts.. the brunch is great!
Spend your evening spell checking their drink menu, sharpie available upon request. This blast from the past will make you feel great about your life, no matter how bad things are, everything at Axis is worse.

Four of us sat on the patio for lunch. Service was attentive and prompt. Each of us ordered something different and we were all very pleased with our meals (BLT chicken salad, Axis burger, Quesadillas and Veggie wrap). Definitely going back.
The experience was amazing! We were looking for a bar with a pool table, and we found this one. The pool table is on the level below. We ordered a gourmet burguer and the Axis BLT salad. Both were simply delicious. A little expensive, $19 each, but it was very flavorul and beautifully arranged. We also ordered ceasers and it was also good. There was a live band playing rock, and the music was great. Very pleasant! The service was also great! All the waitress are very polite, helpful and always with a smile on their face! We will definitely go back.

Fantastic neighborhood pub. One of the best. Outstanding food, friendly bar staff and great crowd. Really a perfect place for a cold beer in the summer or a scotch in the cold winter nights.

Used to play darts at this restaurant in our dart league as an away team. One time we were visiting the home team and I ordered a wings and fries and a drink. I paid for this after I finished eating. Found out the next day, they tried telling the home team that I dined and dashed and one of their team members paid for my meal. I paid that person back, but I had essentially paid for the same meal twice.
The food was the worst I have ever had. If Gordon Ramsey is looking for a place to visit this would be it. A brie and green apple sandwich with red pepper jelly on warm bread was ordered. It seemed like they put a whole slice green apple with literally and no exaggeration a teaspoon sized blob of brie in the middle and a half teaspoon spread of jelly on bread. It was dry and disappointing. I do not recommend eating here. And as for the iced tea - watered down and undrinkable. Not very busy during dinner time which is why I chose the safest meal. How hard can it be to make a good sandwich? Do not recommend.

Their Sweet Potato Fries Are Great!
So the patio is very cozy. In the late afternoon the sun hits it just right, so you have a few hours of warmth on cooler days. The wait staff seem pretty switched on, they are friendly and dont seem to be too rushed. The food is ok, the menu is kinda basic and forces you to go with something safe. My food was overcooked. I actually think that the place would kill it if they simplified their menu a bit and produce 8-10 really good items. Example take out chicken fingers and bring on a Nashville Chicken Sandwich.

Food and service were decent. Street noise and a guy at a neighboring table playing his music through a Bluetooth speaker took away from the following experience. Nice to be on patio.
Food and drinks were great only reason why I m giving a 2 star. Waitress was very cold with us, she only showed up to give us our food and cheque. She also said something rude under her breath, it was awkward when one of us caught her. Prob won t visit
Myself and husband and two friends decided to eat here before attending a event. We sat outside in the patio area. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious. The menu has a variety of choses of pub food and I had a few entrées I wanted to try but only could choose one.I was lucky that I got to try a few bites from my husbands and two other friends meals and all four meals were delicious. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. I would go back if we are in the area in the future.

Breakfast is always hot and fresh. Our server and staff are always great!
Weve only gone for drinks and every time weve gone they are incredibly let friendly. So its nice to have a pint and sit outside while your dog enjoys the love of the wait staff.
Parking: On street parking. We both have mobility problems, but have never had to walk more than a few yards to the patio or the interior Kid-friendliness: Dog friendliness, dont have kids but hes a big dog. Wheelchair accessibility: Outdoor patio is great, service is excellent and all of the staff I have met are extremely competent.
This place was such a favourite when I lived in the junction many years ago. I was so happy to see on a recent visit to Toronto that it is still open.
Fish was crisp, & delicious. Fries were acceptable. Tartar sauce a little too much mayo & not enough lemon. The staff were wonderful. Excellent service, and a good place to enjoy a pub meal.

No parking, Terrible service, only two people waiting on 100 people with a rock band going on. The band was the best part off the night.
went here for dinner after our regular place wasn t open about 2 months ago. i had the pulled pork quesadilla. i swear to you i have not stopped thinking about this quesadilla every single time i get hungry since i had it. i am so serious this quesadilla changed my life. best thing i have ever eaten. get the quesadilla. 100/10.

I really liked the relaxed atmosphere. I came here with my son & the food was quite nice (chicken finger & fries), arrived super fast & still hot. It was great sitting on the patio & watching life go by. I had Amsterdam Blond draft beer, which came about 30 seconds after I ordered it!

Used to love this place, but there is absolutely zero covid protocol being followed. People come and go without masks, and the staff just doesnt care... Going to try Gabbys from now on.

Leslie is awesome and always brings out a water dish for the pups. Great beer, great service - I recommend the patio even I a cold day if the sun is out. Its west facing and on a corner. Definitely our go to in the neighborhood!

Club house sandwich was quite good. Patio is ok and covered which is good if it rains. Extra patio seating available by the sidewalk. They had hands sanitizer if you requested. Not bad considering were in a pandemic. Oh and theyre responsible enough to take contact information in case someone gets Covid-19. Thumbs up!

Its not that great for the price you pay. Food is often over cooked. The quality is not the greatest. The service is why I gave it an extra star. The lady working was super nice and friendly.

Axis is my local pub. The bartender Moyuru is one of my favourite in the city and they have one of the few good patios in the Junction. The menu has good food, a bit expensive (but I guess fairly standard for Toronto) and it would be great if they had more vegetarian options, but otherwise consistently tasty. Its a good place if you want to go with a group of people, they also have pool and darts downstairs and they usually have the game on behind the bar. Its a Junction hold-out, an old school pub in the midst of new and expensive specialty beer haus.
