always go to jacks for the chicken fingers, here they were so crispy and juicy with honey garlic slaps every time. recently visited with a group of friends and the service from Tina was amazing she was so helpful and accommodating to everyone s needs. overall a very pleasant experience. Dietary restrictions: good GF options for those who need, helpful staff who recommended what to get.

Good food and good service, Tina suggested i have the Tortellini, and it was great.

Tina basically saved my life. I have an extreme allergic reaction to gluten, so Tina helped me sort through Jack Astor s GF items. After my food came, I asked for a double-check just to make sure the food was safe. Tina was so helpful and immediately checked with the kitchen and my food was safe, quick, and delicious! Thank u so much for advocating for me, Tina! You re a rarity in food service, but your compassion is so appreciated!! :)

i ve been travelling from australia and decided to visit jacks to get a feel for canadian dining and had the lovely pleasure of meeting tina as our server. not only was her service stellar, she was accommodating and super quick to help one of my friends who suffers from gluten intolerance. overall, an incredible night made incredible by tina! would 100% visit again to see her shining face.

I usually like Jack Astors for the amazing wings , but this time I really regreted being there .The restaurants was very cold and the service was awful.We were a group,so the tip was included ,so they were very slow and keep forgetting part of the order

Went here twice during our Eras trip to the city & both times were excellent. Great food that came out super quick. Atmosphere was so precious with all the Christmas decor. The servers were great too our first time in, they were so sweet and chatted with us about the concert that was later that night & even gave out friendship bracelets. After the concert, we went back for a late night snack and accidentally broke one of their water glasses (sorry!) but they just laughed it off and were overall so kind and welcoming. Wish there was a Jack Astors in our hometown back in AB!

I always love Jack Astors! Went to this location last week and it was amazing. Andy was a fabulous server. The restaurant was also so beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Great experience (per usual) at the Yonge & Bloor location (2 Bloor Street East). This is a solid spot where you can always depend on the food being great. And Justine is an amazing server - super attentive and knew the menu well.

Love the garlic pan bread, nachos and beer which goes great with the big game. A big thanks to Justine for the good service and being a friendly familiar face.

Stopped in and the food was great but despite being tired from walking around all day the service was very polite, timely, and uplifting. The food was just what we needed after a long day. I have eaten at this Jack Astor s location in downtown Toronto quite a few times. I usually have an order of chicken fingers with different sauces each time, an excellent option on the menu. The bowls are also interesting and delicious. Service is a plus here, as servers are friendly, attentive, and eager to help. They help create a positive and relaxed atmosphere. A nice place overall!

There are four people total at the bar and bartender has pretty much ignored me but has paid most of his attention with two girls sitting across from me. He then pulled someone else in to join in the conversation and the two of them gave their attention to the two girls. I was never asked how my food was the entire time I had my plate.

I recently visited Jack Astors Yonge and Bloor and the service was top notch. I was only going in to have a quick drink with a co worker, but ended up having wonderful tossed chicken fingers with fries as well. Kay at the bar is so friendly and attentive to every question we had and all of our needs. We ended up staying longer than expected, because the atmosphere Kay created was exactly what we needed after work. I highly recommend this Jack Astors to anyone, for anything you need. Visited this place for what was supposed to be a special celebration for my nephew s birthday, but it turned out to be the most frustrating dining experience I ve ever had. Before we even got to the main course, our waiter approached us to ask if we could settle the bill because his shift was ending. I explained that we hadn t been served the main course yet, were planning to order more drinks, and wanted cake and coffee to complete the celebration. He offered to transfer our table to another server but mentioned he would lose his tips. Feeling bad for him, I agreed to settle the bill for what we had ordered up to that point. He thanked me and assured us we could continue to order from the new server and settle with them later. After that, we waited 40 minutes with no service no drinks, no desserts, nothing. To add to the frustration, the waiter who claimed his shift was ending at 9 p.m. was still there, lingering around but never returned to our table or checked in on us. We ended up leaving without properly celebrating my nephew s birthday. Before leaving, I asked to speak with the manager to share my disappointment, but it was clear that this restaurant s service and management are far from customer-focused. Also, if the restaurant is open until midnight, why would a server s shift end at 9, and why was he still there after claiming to be done? This was hands down the worst dining experience I ve ever had. I will never return to this place again. I would strongly advise against going there if you re looking for good service or a pleasant experience. Such a disappointment!

We come here as a family quite regularly and have always been very satisfied with our experience. Our most recent visit was really great. New food items on the menu, all delicious and great Christmas decorations. Service was great and so was the overall atmosphere.

I am compelled to share my alarming experience, which I can only describe as one of the worst establishments in Toronto. My visit, initially meant to be an enjoyable evening, quickly devolved into a troubling confrontation that raised serious questions about their customer service and ethical standards. Upon trying to settle my bill, I was confronted by a male staff member who insisted that I could only pay in cash. Bewildered, I explained that I only had my debit card. This is where the situation escalated unreasonably. The staff member claimed that the bartender had explicitly informed me upon entry that the bar only accepted cash, a statement that was patently false. No such information was conveyed to me by any staff member during my visit. When I insisted that no one had informed me of this policy, the staff member resorted to calling me a liar. At this juncture, my concern shifted from the monetary issue to the principles of honesty and accountability. I made it clear that I could easily pay in cash if given proper notice, but he refused to acknowledge the lack of communication. As I noted the presence of surveillance cameras, I informed him that the footage would corroborate my account. Ultimately, security intervened, and I was relieved of the obligation to pay the bill. However, the situation did not end there. The manager, Andrea Carter, attempted to de-escalate the matter but ultimately refused to offer any form of compensation for the embarrassment I endured. In light of this distressing experience, I have consulted with legal counsel and will be pursuing civil legal action against them for emotional distress caused by their staffs unprofessional conduct. Going forward I will urge my friends and family members to think twice before visiting this Jack Astors location, as the lack of transparency and respect for customers is unacceptable.

I had a wonderful experience at Jacks today and I am glad I stopped in for lunch. To start, the staff are all so friendly, helpful and communicative. The food is always good, definitely try the chicken fingers if you haven t yet - hands down the best you can buy! Our lovely and sweet server Haley let us know that the payment systems were down and she had to hand write our receipts and manually process our card. I really appreciated that she notified us right away so we made sure to leave some extra time before we had to pay. I watched her take care of 4 tables in a row with speed and grace. Talk about staying calm in a storm! Great service, great food, great experience. Will be back!

this was actually 1st time we sat inside when visiting this location, as in the spring n summer their patio is a great people watching spot. Our go to is usually the CLASSIC chicken fingers but yesterday we decided to try their new poutine appi. We decided on the loaded, but in all honesty we would probably go with their CLASSIC next time. Lets just say that had we not already ordered our main, we would probably have split something lighter as the poutine it is almost a meal to itself

I came in this past Tuesday around 9PM and had an incredible time. It s an interesting dynamic because it seemed like all their systems were down, and everyone had to do a lot of extra work on their hands. Sat by the bar and watched the bartender writing every order down, making every drink, and being very attentive while still sharing time to crack some jokes. Everyone in restaurant seemed to work extra hard, and the food still came out fast and was delicious. The manager stopped and had a chat, and the bar seemed to have a lot of regulars that were all very friendly. Overall seemed like everyone was having a great time, feel bad for the employees, but happy everyone was in a good mood!

I attended the Toronto (Yonge & Bloor) Jack Astors location on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. I have been to many Jack Astors locations in the GTA and all the locations in Toronto. The Yonge & Bloor location I have been to before, but the experience I had on Tuesday was extremely disappointing and I want an explanation from the owner why this occurred. A little after 4pm, I showed up to the restaurant. No staff was at the front entrance, so I seated myself at the bar. While at the bar, I waited a few minutes. Then a gentleman in a hoodie approached me and asked if I have been served as yet to which I replied no. He apologized for it, began my drink order, and served me my beverage. Minutes go by and nobody checks in with me, I wasnt presented with a menu, or asked if I will be ordering any food. I eventually stopped one female employee who was occupied at the bar and asked her when she has a moment if I can place a food order. She said okay and walked away continuing doing what she was doing. Minutes go by and I stopped a male employee working at the bar and asked him if I can place a food order to which he promptly started working on that for me. I got served my Nachos. No plates or napkins were served to me to which I had to request from him to provide. No check-ins were provided by employees to see how I am doing or enjoying the food. The female employee who I did initially ask when she has a moment, can I place a food order returned and was doing some work in front of me. I asked her if I can ask her a question to which she replied sure. I asked her any particular reason why you forget to take my food order? She began to give a reason something about the shift she is on, but I replied back that she could have communicated with her co-worker to take my order instead of me chasing him down for food because I was hungry. She apologized and the male co-worker hearing the conversation began to do check-ins with me and served me another beverage. I later asked for the bill once I was done and left the restaurant unhappy with my experience. There were moments when I felt like leaving the restaurant, but I said I came all this way let me stay and was craving your Nachos. I do not know if the staff was new, they were disorganized, or this is the new standard at Jack Astors, but I was extremely disappointed and this was the worse experience ever at Jack Astors. Please have a manager contact me. I am sure the surveillance system can corroborate my story.

I recently visited Jack Astor s and, unfortunately, the experience didn t live up to their usual standards. When we arrived, the restaurant s computers were down, and it seemed to affect the entire operation. We waited a long time for our food, and when it finally arrived, the fries were cold. When I politely asked for condiments for my burger, the server s response was dismissive, as though I was being a nuisance. To make matters worse, the burger came with a tiny top bun that made it awkward to eat, and it only highlighted the issues with the food even more. While Jack Astor s is generally a reliable choice for casual dining, it was clear that this location struggled to maintain service quality when the technology failed. Even getting our receipt took around 30 minutes, despite the restaurant being less than half full. I hope the management takes steps to ensure that service doesn t come to a halt just because of technical difficulties.

Walked in, tons of open tables but their system was down so couldn t seat us anywhere but at the bar ..service is going downhill here, not going back.

Cam was such a good server. The food was amazing and the service was so fast. Great restaurant and Cam was a great and funny server.

This Jack Astor s is one of the best I ve visited while in the city! The staff are amazing and the food does not disappoint! Our server Andy was absolutely awesome and super sweet!! We had the manager come greet us aswell! She was super great as well! Would 100% recommend eating here / great spot to grab a bevy or two!! Hope you enjoy as much as we did!!

My favorite Jack Astors location! Service is always 10/10 and the drinks are amazing. I went here the other night and Nat and Cody served my drinks. They were made perfectly and always made sure my glass was full. Can t recommend them enough

I went in and sat at the bar. The staff, Cody and Nat were awesome, and after finding out my preferences, recommended the gummy bear margarita. It was the best choice ever. I still think of it. 10/10 would go back just for them and the gummy bears.

Had the most amazing experience with my family dining at you restaurant. The ambience is so warm and inviting, the food is chef kiss and your staff are amazing from the hostess, to the servers and the bartenders. Special kudos to Nat, Cody, Shiv and Josh . Great experience. Centrally located in the heart of North downtown near financial hubs and subway stations. The staff is always attentive and the atmosphere is upbeat. Games are always on which are great for after work hangouts. Chicken fingers are always a hit. Staff are attentitive and caring. Nat and Cody are always super friendly and approachable. Regular check ups and speedy service. Would definitely come back more!

Friday night in Yorkville Ave Toronto, my childhood friend & I looking for a dinner both can agree on. She s fussy, I m not. Deliema for sure until we agreed to check our jack Astor s. well!, fabulous- good menu, atmosphere, our adorable bubbly both host & Waitress/Server made our dinner the highlight. Let s include how much we enjoyed our meals, she finding the Spaghetti & chicken Parmesan, and I really enjoying the Salmon meal with couscous, squash & very nice flavoured sauce. Cheers to the chef, kitchen, as we both cleared our plates. Please visit and acknowledge this great relaxing meal experience in the busiest corner of Toronto (Bloor/Yonge). Our server Caoimhe with her gorgeous smile, bubbly personality and her incredible Irish Accent, was such a pleasure! We taught her to save for a beautiful van clef necklace-bracelet from Yorkville in her lifetime. (I don t have one but she had imitation) so we tried to start her saving fund!! Thank JA staff and the wonderful lovely Caoimhe! The whole staff is wonderful- thank you and see you all soon!
