I liked the atmosphere, but it was a little bit hard to hear the person next to me when I spoke to them. All in all it was a Great Night.

Update: Ive read many credible stories that staff are treated badly and disrespected. Ill avoid this place. If I do go in, Ill be checking first. Old review: This is always a great spot, in Winter and Summer. The service is quick and the atmosphere is spot on. The Rhino beer is a good price and tasty.

Beef dip was a little disappointing. Its always better on a baguette or bun, not sliced bread. It was missing some sort of creamy horseradish, either on the sandwich or on the side in my opinion. Large beer selection and some pool tables.

I was here for an event and left impressed. The food was very good, the beer was cold and the prices were reasonable.

Visited The Rhino Bar and Grill for two orders of Fish and Chips. We were seated near the back by the pool tables and televisions so we could watch the hockey game. I thoroughly enjoyed the Fish and Chips with a Cola and lime. The Fish and Chips were cooked to perfection. I enjoyed every bite. Our server was polite and courteous and the area we were seated in was quieter than the open spaces near the bar and the front of the restaurant so that we could converse. An excellent dining experience! Thank you Rhino! Highly recommended!

Great bar but I was hoping it would be more rhino-oriented (safari decorations, servers wearing rhino costumes, etc.). There is a big rhino head on the wall but that is as far as it goes in terms of the rhino theme. They have pool tables here - would recommend but not for rhino enthusiasts

We have been waiting here for over 15 minutes in a half capacity bar and not a single server has cared to even ask us if we want a glass of water. They do not care lol.

The bartender (the guy) was awesome.

I arrived about 15 minutes after to join a large group. Unfortunately, the waitress (who appeared to be the manger) was not very welcoming and dismissed my request to order the first time. After placing my order, my food never arrived, although appeared on my bill. When I mentioned to the waitress that my food never arrived, she was as unapologetic. As our group was leaving shortly, I mentioned that I would no longer like to order food, which she responded, Well, obviously . I was just provided with a mandatory 18% group gratuity, which was made very clear when provided with the bill.

Huge place to spend time waiting to do something else at 2 pm in the afternoon. Great beer selection, and good, friendly service. Didnt eat, but food is available.

Very relaxing especially on the huge patio. Which I like a lot.. The inside is big and has pool tables. Great atmosphere. Good times winding down from a work day. And the staff are great.

My server snatched my unfinished wrap and full plate of fries and threw it out before I could save it, then replaced just the fries which I clearly hadn t touched. RIP my wrap, it wasn t amazing but it was super expensive and it was the first thing I had (started) to eat all day. Luckily there are lots of way better food choices nearby if my colleagues continue to meet here for drinks. Vegetarian options: I got the seasonal vegetarian option which was a veggie wrap with goat cheese on a spinach wrap. I love zucchini, but other than that it tasted like a snack at a daycare made with a grocery store tortilla and no seasoning.

Can t give 0 stars so 1 will work. Service garbage. Attitude of staff garbage. Went to get my own menus as I noticed they were busy and server had the nerve to make a bitchy joke that I forgot one. Seems from reviews that day staff is an issue here. Slow service and being rude will not help a restaurant in Toronto. If passing by just keep walking. Great Mexican restaurant 4 doors down. Go there.

Its an awesome, casual local. Big patio for those that like that, huge beer selection, a menu that updates pretty regularly.

Similar review as some of the others mentioned here about daytime staff demeanor. Used to love coming here before I had kids. Came here for a quick drink and snack while we were walking around Queen West today but yikes. Kids just being kids, not obnoxious but just playing around our table and the older waitress wearing a bucket hat came over with an annoyed demeanor and said the kids need to sit at the table lol We get it. You don t like kids. But the daytime staff ladies in general looked annoyed most of the time we were there. It was only the male waitstaff that were all friendly and professional. Guess the obnoxiously loud daytime drunks weren t bothersome. It was just the kids voices laughing and playing which was overwhelming to them. I love family-shaming waitstaff won t be coming back here again

I like this place a lot: the food is tasty, the beer selection is great, the space is big and the patio is awesome. That said, they still have gendered bathrooms downstairs and they arent accessible. Heads up for people and heads up to management to de-gender segregate your bathrooms please and thank you!

Edited August 2024 Service here now suuuuucks. Miserable, unhelpful, sometimes ignored...ask them for something and they just walk away to never return. Paid bill. Went next door to Tilt and had a much better experience.

I found this place on Queen Street, which seemed very welcoming. They have ample seating indoors and outdoors. A good selection of beers and hamburguers and sandwiches. There are also a few pool tables if you want to have a game. Good experience overall

The Rhino was my neighborhood pub. Great outdoor patio. Was dependable with tasty food. We will no longer be going back. The prices have gone way up. The food portions are much smaller. Its not a local stop anymore and not worth an expensive night out. RIP.

I have been coming here for many years.. I used to like it .. but when you get served and pushed to finish your cup in 1 minute, Waitress waiting on your side at 1:55 am on a Saturday night we have a problem just close at midnight or stop selling at 1am

The prices have definitely gone up and it s not as pocket friendly. Staff is rude and seems like their so unhappy there. Service is unprofessional and definitely not a good place to have a chilled night out. Vibes are way off.

Its a cool spot, lots of sun on the patio. Food and drinks are good, didnt have a great experience with my server. Very short tempered and rude when first ordering and slow to serve me and my date for the remaining of the evening. I dont think Ill be returning any time soon.

THIS IS THE WORST BAR/Restaurant ever. The owner is a girl and very angry and mean for no reason. She makes her staff scared of her and mean to them too. I feel sorry for the staff having to deal with her everyday. Do not go here, if you want a good night and care about your happiness. The owner will do everything to ruin your night. DO NOT GO HERE.

Comfortable dive bar atmosphere with a surprisingly extensive menu. They have a fantastic selection of both non-alcoholic and regular beers. The vegitarian poutine is particularly delicious!

Its either this place or the Skyline that have the worst service in Parkdale. This place should get an extra 2x half star because 1) I actually had a good server the other day, and 2) the food is generally good, approaching very good. Cannot understand the general disdain for clientele or the attitude the staff have.

I went on a trip to Canada for my birthday and I really wanted to try something more local and authentic, I saw there was poutine so I decided to come here and it was soooooo good. The poutine was so yummy plus vegan, it was even better than I expected it to be. My burger was so good too, it was a real burger, I enjoyed it so much. My dad also said the salmon was super good. So I definitely recommend it if you want something more calm. The waitresses were friendly as well! :)

Its reliable. Theres tons of seating both inside and out so we always get a table. The food selection is solid and they have lots to offer in terms of drinks.

The crowd and the nightlife is fantastic. The food is also excellent. Unfortunately the day shift is staffed by bitter sour less than friendly people. But dont worry after 4:00 the stop changes and its the greatest place in Parkdale. But if you enjoy waitresses & bartenders who roll their eyes and pretend like youre bothering them... If you like that kind stuff then this is the place for you. Like the saying goes... Good help is hard to find. Are the only good thing here is the food, on the atmosphere

I live and die by the rhino. This is my favourite bar to drink with pals.

Very cozy place on a cold winters night. The guests are a full mix of Parkdale and west ends finest. Great bar menu and the pricing is fair. The drink selection has something for everyone. The staff are friendly and welcoming. A great local if you live in the hood. A massive patio for those great sunny daze. The brunch menu is my favorite. The Rhino is a Parkdale institution. You must check it out if youve never been. You will love the casual environment. They have a huge summer patio. Just fully rebuilt. The bathrooms are fully renovated which is very nice indeed. Love that poutine!

This is a great bar. The Beef dip sandwich was amazing. The smoked meat was pretty large as well, and good. Lots of beers on tap and cans/bottles, although Id love to see some more options of similar beers to each other (raise/have multiple stouts or multiple ambers for example) Pool tables were full but the vibes seemed good back there too. Tons of seating. Would be a repeat visitor if I was in the area more.

Fish and chips... Fish was perfectly crunchy but the fish was no flavor and super super bland.. the potatoes was so simple and super dried the gravy was perfect..

Burgers and sandwiches were HUGE! Everything was reasonably priced... perhaps even better than reasonable! Our server, Forest, was friendly, quick, and wonderful! Parking: When we got here there was plenty of street parking, and it was free after 9pm.

I ordered the Nashville hot chicken here and it was incredible - like possibly the best one Ive ever had, and Ive been to Nashville 3 times!

Great service. Multiple servers asked of we have been taken care of yet. They also checked in frequently to see of we were enjoying the food. Food was really good. Atmosphere is great.

Had an incredible night at the Rhino recently with a large group of friends and family. I was overly impressed with the staff and service. The vibe was perfect for a large gathering, and I will definitely be back again!!!

Lovely place I love playing pool, so that s a plus. The food definitely great, just the service, don t come here for your first time and sit at the bar you get nothing but dirty looks, and forget about asking where the washroom is some guy who looked like a guest had to show me. Would have been better had the bartenders not been so rude, considering I saw them laughing with guests and then immediately catching salt when they look at us.

Would never go there again. I was charged $38 for a bottle of wine I did not order nor receive. I am 100% sure it was not a mistake. I paid without checking the bill because I was with some important guests. Went back a couple of hours later and was refunded the amount. Terrible patronizing waitress.

The Rhino in Toronto is a true gem - we came for trivia, and the lively atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. There is an extensive beer menu - from craft brews to classics, theres something for everyone. The pub food was good as well.

Food has always been meh. The bar is sticky, stinky, and LOUD... like extra LOUD. Everyone has to scream at each other to hear. Be prepared to repeat yourself. Everytime I go I feel like its the servers first day. Sadly the best part of the bar was having international beers, now its just like every other bar with the same old same old beers you can find in the 12 other bars on same block.

One of the best west end spots. Extensive beer list, knowledgeable friendly staff, great prices. Their trivia night gets crazy busy! Vegetarian options: For a local pub they have excellent veg/vegan options.

Great and friendly place . I cant say anything bad about The Rhino .Summer , winter , spring, fall , its consistently in service , and friendly faces endures , and thats why its the best place to have a good meal and rekindle lost friendships.

One of the biggest patios around, and usually not too busy surprisingly, great spot for the summer. Depending on the time of day you can usually get a spot shaded by the building next door, or in the sun. Parking is available on queen at specific times. Large selection of beers, ciders, sours etc. The food is pretty good as far as bar or pub food goes. The poutine, fish n chips, and nachos are what Id recommend. Trivia on Mondays, and they have 2 pool tables ($1 to play). Service can be slightly on the slower side sometimes, but its quite a big bar and usually decently busy, so I cant fault them too much. Overall, def one of my local go-tos for pints with friends. Would recommend.

Im from the neighborhood. Food is always great here. Service has always been friendly, good vibes. 4 stars because of how absolutely packed it gets. When that happens the service gets very slow (understandably). Ive always gone here for dinner & drinks. A few weeks ago I went for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. It wasnt packed and the food was fantastic.

Literally the rudest and most racist staff, if you aren t white avoid this dump at all costs. I say dump because it s literally a dirty, dingy dark hole in the middle of Parkdale but the boomer staff seem to think it s the 4 seasons. Avoid at ALLL costs.

Rhino bar in Toronto is a decent neighbourhood bar with a good atmosphere and great music. Food and drinks seemed reasonably priced too. Service was not the most consistent (sometimes fast, sometimes slow) during our visit but I can t think of a place that doesn t have days like those. Rhino Bar in Toronto seems like a good place for large groups and would definitely recommend this place for larger groups!

I was told that the Rhino was a very friendly bar for dogs. I subsequently walked into the bar with my. 6lb dog, and was YELLED at by the manager that I was not allowed to bring a dog into the bar, even though I was looking for patio seating. That s understandable, but I was told 4 times that I needed to stay at the tables that were at the fence line by the sidewalk, even when I was already outside and at that location, and was really staunchly spoken to. I GET IT GIRL! 5 minutes later, a large dog was sat at a table at the back of the patio, very far away from the sidewalk that I was scolded to stay by very aggressively. I asked to speak to the manager that yelled at me about my dog and she was very defensive and didn t really give me a reason why me and my dog had to say at the front and why she was originally aggressive and angry and with me, but this large dog could sit wherever they chose. I am honestly shook at how this blonde older woman spoke to me. As a service worker myself, I think this was appalling and kind of gross. I will not be back and will instruct my friends to do the same. I think that as an older woman in the service industry, she should have better customer service, as she has obviously been doing this for decades. I don t normally make reviews but this woman was not okay and was unhinged. Our server was lovely, but this manager was honestly a hypocrite and not someone I would never want to work for or with. Gross!

It s a good place to spend some time with friends. And I really love their beer! We spent $54 for 2 people. It included 2 beers 20 oz, 2 beers 12oz and 1 portion of fish and chips.

Insane beer selection and insanely slow service. Parkdale OG though so they still get plenty of love from me.

So we were in town for a show and decided to go to this place for dinner, we walked in to a restaurant that was 98% empty and were told by a bartender to wait to be seated. 5 min. Later we were told to sit where ever we wanted, really! The waiter that took our order was nice and the food was served in a timely manner and was very good. The group working the bar seemed like a miserable bunch.

Lovely patio, amazing summer time atmosphere! Our server was lovely, very sweet and laid back. Would highly recommend the perogies here!

The Rhino is always a great restaurant in the Parkdale area if you re looking for somewhere with good food and chill vibes. They have a big outdoor patio in the summers as well which is great to have a few beers on - cheers! We got the fish and chips (sub chips for ceasar salad) and the bacon and cheeseburger with fries - both were tasty and fresh. Will be back.

Possibly the worst service I have ever experienced. I gave it the benefit of the doubt for the second time and some how they managed to charge me $150 extra on the bill and if I didnt notice they would have let it slide. Extremely unprofessional service. Food isnt bad and the crowd is chill. Service is a game changer and they need to change their game.

3* for the food because it was typical bar food nothing exciting but the nachos were pretty good, 3* for the service because it was a little slow and it wasnt even busy, and 4* for the atmosphere because the patio was huge and the crowd was great

We picked this place for their vegetarian options and it did not disappoint! Highly recommended the vegetarian poutine and vegan fish and chips. Vegetarian options: They had a vegan and vegetarian poutine, we went with vegetarian and it was amazing. The vegan fish and chips is made of tofu but tastes just like real fish. My husband got the impossible burger and also enjoyed it.

Wowzers - great food. I had the onion rings FANTASTIC, and the signature burger with a side caesar - very generous portions. Connie had the watermelon salad DELICIOUS and the fish and chips. Beer selection was great. Our server was helpful, attentive and a big smiler. We sat outside on a cloudy night and temp was perfect. Why only a 4 re atmosphere? This is Queen St. West and there is always entertainment

Came in with a large group and our server was very rude. Showed a lot of attitude from the moment she came by, for no reason. Food wasn t great either.

Rhino offers a pleasant patio ambiance and cold beer thats definitely a plus. However, our experience was marred by some hiccups. If youre planning to attend a trivia night, be prepared for potential service delays. On top of that, the nachos were disappointing - basic and lacking toppings. To our surprise, we were even charged extra for sour cream after expressing dissatisfaction with the nachos to our server. The tables on the patio needed attention as they werent properly wiped and cleaned. Even on a Monday night, it was evident that the establishment needed more staff, both at the bar and as servers. Despite these setbacks, I would recommend giving their Rhino pint a try. With a bit of improvement in service and attention to detail, Rhino could become a much more enjoyable dining experience.

Love love love this place! They are always reliable, the new chef and their menu are the best yet (daily specials ). There s a great selection of beers, wonderful waitstaff and the best patio in parkdale!

Nice restaurant with Brunch. We ordered an Omelete and it was really good. The potatoes that came with it were also really good and probably the best potatoes we have had with breakfast meals. They are always bland and tasteless but this ones were really good. We also had the Wild Boar burger for the first time if you have never tried it, i would say try it, BUT know that the flavour is very subtle or plain. Its not as flavourful as beef in my opinion. So I personally would not get it again but you may like it!

Stopped in just before midnight to an unfriendly woman behind bar that just said last call has already been called ...we were just looking for a nightcap after a great concert and Google said open til 2am ...very disappointing seeing we ubered to check out the Rhino BUT we went a few doors down to the Motel and had great friendly service and met some great people!!

4.5 stars Pretty good pub! Really big, surprisingly so. Pool tables are a more open dining area are in the rear, with your more traditional pub saloon at the front. Drink selection, service and atmosphere were all good and the food was very good pub fare, and the prices are reasonable. Staff we re pretty friendly in their laid back way. They host a quiz every Monday night which is a lot of fun and worth a visit.

I am an irregular regular at the Rhino, I am a vendor of a clothing brand named D-Day Wear and sell my products at festivals and events recently while venging at the CNE and not have not been a patron at the Rhino for over eight months. When I arrived, the bartender Melissa remembered my name and my libation of choice out of their eclectic choice of brews on tap. (The Rhino has s better selectionof beers tha some LCBOs I have been in). The owner/manager Louise remembered me as well and treated me I could ever expected. I have never, ever been disappointed with anything I have ever eaten at the Rhino and, I must say their specials are outstanding. If you are in the Queen and Dufferin area of Toronto, please do check the Rhino, you will be doing your pallet a favour.

Chill spot for cheap, but good beer and $2 games of pool

This is a reliable go-to spot for me. They have decent food and a pretty good beer list with reasonable prices. In the summer, their patio is cute. They have trivia on Mondays which is always fun. The same host does it every week and he s great. Nothing to write home about but it s a good neighbourhood spot!

Lots of pool tables and is usually pretty quite if you wanna bring friends and play or just by yourself.

Even though I do not drink alcohol, Ive had some delicious meals here. Not to mention the pretty good terrace which is my fav place to sit

Great pub with a huge patio. The Rhino is one of the longest running bars in Parkdale. Their beer selection is quite extensive. So many local and European beers to choose from. The food is well priced and always fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly & the ambiance is very inviting. They have pool tables and tons of space. A great place for a work or Christmas party. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: So many vegetarian and vegan options to choose from.

ordered burger with fries today. The fries has mixed texture, some are soft some are super hard to chew. Really have doubt on how fresh they are. If fries are fresh, it shouldnt taste as hard as 10* as yam chips. The patties were very overcooked without much taste in and some part were burned. Also, the waitress had no smile all-time during not so busy day. In a client facing position, smile is very important, in my opinion. Would not recommend anyone order burger and fries from this place.

Good happy hours, and Id say best bar around the parkdale area. Service wise and choice of drinks wise.

The Rhino is a fixture. A dingy, lackluster fixture that will one day probably be overtaken by bars trying harder, delivering better food and, um, looking better. In the mean time, the service is trying, the beer is good and the location is an advantage.

Great spot for cheap drinks maybe not so much for food

The manager there is probably the rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever met in the hospitality world. From the moment we walked in she was rude, short fuse and absolutly cold towards me and my friends. I feel bad for the staff and customers that have to deal with her on a daily basis. I will gladly spend my money in any other establishment for the rest of my life. Wild boar burger was bomb and the waitress was nice and accommodating. If you dont like people, maybe dont work in a bar Judy or Ruby or whatever her name is. Honestly, just get another job

When I lived in the area this was my favourite haunt. Great space, food, cold beer and service. Went recently and nothings changed. Love consistency! Food

I love the Rhino, cheap drinks and a good atmosphere. However, the last two times Ive ordered the poutine it has been disappointing. Either not enough gravy or not enough cheese curds even when I order extra cheese. So for that Im only giving 4 stars.

I was in for brunch on the weekend. The service and the food were great but the people behind the bar kept changing the music halfway through songs and it was very distracting. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant and patio or wheelchair accessible but the bathrooms are downstairs.
