On my way from my job, decided to check out Wok and Grill which was recommended by my cousin. I ordered the Cantonese Chow Mein, fried rice, and Spring rolls. Couldn’t wait to eat. When I opened the Chow Mein. First thing I noticed that the shrimp were the smallest I’ve ever saw in this dish, and they weren’t deveined, the chicken piece were big and the noodles were very dry and hardly any veggies. No way I was eating it. Spring rolls were so small, like the ones you get in the grocery store. I didn’t eat those either. Without the chow Mein, it was no way I was eating the rice that didn’t look the great. $40 down the drain, I should of ordered a Canadian dish. I won’t eat from there again and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
I ordered by phone for pick up an hour and half before I picked up. The owner was friendly on the phone. When I got there he still was cooking it. So wait time was another 10 minutes. The place didn’t look like a restaurant. It had more of a bar feel to it. There was a pool table and a bar behind the cash with liquor and a sign saying $5.50 for shots. A tv on the wall. Plenty of seating. The clientele consisted of 4 elderly guys sitting at a table drinking. My guess is they have lots of locals. There was a customer outside the restaurant, beside the front door smoking and the smell of cigarettes was coming inside the restaurant. The food was ok. I didn’t feel like that there was enough in the containers. It should have been more stuffed. And not enough variety in the cantonese chow mein, lots of onions and watercress. I did like the spring rolls. The rice was small grain and a little hard. There is plenty of parking and they have an outdoor patio.
Pretty good spot! We moved to the area and definitely miss having various Chinese food options. The food is great for the price and portion! Service wise, everyone is super kind and friendly. I do think the service runs a bit slow, especially if there's more than 2 groups there (small kitchen). Not a bad thing, just be mindful if you're in a rush haha. Atmosphere is alright. Interesting fusion of Chinese and Western flare/decor (makes sense given the community). I haven't dined-in or stayed for a drink yet (just takeout), so maybe I'll update after having done so.
Nice hole in the wall local joint. Tasty, low cost pub food. Good, lively environment. Had the wings and general tao chicken.
My fav place to go for food and/or a beer. I recommend all the food but the dumplings are the best.

We had a hankering for Chinese food and it was getting late, this was a couple Fridays ago. This place was still open so we popped by to get take out. It was nice to see this local place in full swing - people playing pool, other people coming in to order food and I think there was a birthday thing going on. Chef there was super cool; was chatting with birthday guy and then asked me what I wanted to order and basically customized it for me. Lady at the front really nice too. The fact that the food was made fresh, the portions decent and at a reasonable price point is why I'll come back. Will probably order trays for next get together. Update: As promised, came back for a light dinner and ordered trays for a gathering tomorrow. Got to talk to the chef again, Tula. Great guy. Showed us the size of the trays he uses and how he doesn't chintz on portions. I believe it because our chow mein was so good with plenty of meat and veggies. At $11 you're not going to find that price with that taste and freshness anywhere these days. This place is a hidden gem and I love the vibe. Will continue to support!
We love the food here and there is always someone to play a game of pool with. The best value for your buck and amazing take out or eat in.
Really quiet bar and a great crowd of people who like to play pool at talk with. Also the owner is a great guy and the bar tenders are amzing. And the food well that is for you to judge as we all have our own taste of food Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp up to the door and anyone there will help you in and hold doors for you

This is a regular takeout spot for us, but the most recent order was way beyond expectations. Each of the seven meals we ordered was delicious, from the veggie to the beef to the shrimp. Great quality, truly friendly service. Make sure to tip the staff, they really deserve it!

We visit this bar and grill during a trip in Toronto. Tula was so nice that we came back lots of time. Also have a nice snooker. Good noodles.

They have really tasty food, I just wish it was fresh. You can tell it is reheated. However, it still tastes delicious.
Got a chilli chicken daily special and oh man, I finally found a good Chinese spot in East York. Rice was done perfectly and the chilli chicken wasnt dry and actually had amazing flavour. As for their hot sauce? Made in-house and Im trying to decipher what the ingredients are. Its that good. 11/10 would recommend
We stopped in for the first time and sat down for our meal, and it didnt disappoint. Chef accommodated our request for all veg in the Singapore noodles, and we complimented with eggplant in black bean sauce and veggies spring spring rolls. All the food was excellent, and the staff / owners / chef made it a point to come over and check on us, ask of everything was good. Suffice to say, it was great, and were looking forward to coming back - maybe trying the patio come warmer weather.
It is my go to late night fast Canadian Chinese Food. Not a place to hang out in but great service and good food a great prices.
Worst place to eat if you see the floor it has roaches all through this place they have to close down for a day of the week to clean it this bar is for people who go there everyday and is not for outsiders the young oriental girl working cash is crazy and lies about how much things are do not go here worst place on o Connor to eat or go for drinks

Wok and Grill has the best bar food hands down. Imagine Chinese food tailor made for a bar environment. They have delicious wings, fried shrimp, and calamari appetizers, if you get the seafood fried rice and a pitcher of beer while watching some sporting event on the screen and its a guaranteed good time. The other cool thing about this place is that the owner cooks the food for you. You can see him at the wok doing his thing. You can witness how he cooks the delicious yummy food for you. You can see the flames doing that thermodynamics, changing the chemistry to your food and see the final result on the plate looking all beautiful and delicious. The wings are delicious.

This place is a true treasure! Don t even have a picture because every time food just gone like a wind! Chef Luo cooks in a way that s like all you could imagine of a true street food chef in Chinese movies! Yes you re right fire in the wok and food flying in the air! The smoky taste is so good in every dish that even excessive oil and glutamate and starch are not needed! As a 100% Chinese I must say that flavor is absolutely not compromised even though it s sitting in an absolutely not Chinese neighborhood!

Chef Tula is legit! Came here with a friend who is also from Hong Kong. Had fried chicken wings and spicy eggplant on rice. Wings were juicy; nicely marinated with great flavour without any sauce. Eggplant was fresh, lightly fried and not greasy, with just the right amount of spice to go with the rice. Had a good chat with Chef Tula about his background at various kitchens around town. Look forward to coming back and trying other dishes like Singaporean fried vermicelli & spicy squid!

Ive been here many times and every dish ive tried has been amazing. The ingredients are always fresh and the flavours are superior to other Chinese restaurants. The dishes are reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly. I go here when I want an authentic experience.

This place is a dive and I love it! The owner/chef is amazing. You have to try his shrimp spring rolls! You wont regret it!! He uses whole shrimps not minced and the flavour is just scrumptious! Im actually wanting them right now! And the owner/chef is such a sweetheart, very welcoming and a very good conversationalist. Friendly too boot! My husband and I came across this place by accident. And now we call it our bar. We order a few drinks (reasonable priced) and a bit of food. Which I may add, is made right in front of you in an open kitchen style. So enjoy this place and spread the word!
