Disappointed with the ratatouille.... -Lamb shanks Must Try -Grilled Octopus...9/10 Service is horrible. It doesnt justify the price. Reserved for a Birthday. They didnt even. Acknowledge the day . You wouldnt spend so much just to have crappy service.

Hey this is a super late review, however it needed to be done. I celebrated my birthday At Skylight on Saturday July 13th 2024 and I must say what an amazing experience it was for me. The ambiance the vibes are so immaculate. Our server who was of Asian descent was awesome! His attention to detail, charisma and overall amazing energy cannot be appreciated enough! Also, the food was top notch! Thank you skylight for making my birthday a very special occasion with all my close people.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of working with Tina as the florist for a wedding. She was incredibly helpful, guiding my team through the setup with ease. Tina was both professional and friendly, making the experience seamless. The ambiance at the Skylight is wonderful for a modern wedding, and I d be thrilled to return as both a Wedding Planner and Florist!

Came for Saturday brunch. Service was attentive & friendly. Food was delicious & fresh. The full breakfast was quality > quantity. Filling enough without leaving stuffed. Beautiful space too!

New menu is absolutely terrible. The filet mignon tasted absolutely raw and old. The old menu was much more tastier with the beef kebabs. Please bring the old menu back. The bream was okay, but not worth my money. Definitely would not come back here.

What an incredible experience Skylight exceeded my hopes, let alone my expectations. I love the casual, comfortable yet sophisticated environment, the perfect lighting, the extra high ceiling and cityscape through the tall windows, and the comfortable choice of seating. I also love the mix of comfy benches, comfy couches, and comfy chairs along with more traditional seating and a beautiful bar in the middle. However, the best part was the food and service. The menu is exotic yet approachable, and the staff is wonderful. Its obvious that management is out to create a complete casual dining and lounging experience. This is not just a place we will go back to, its a place we intend to become regulars at. I cant wait to enjoy a weekend evening with live music or a DJ. Thank you!

The food was exceptional! We tried the oysters, charred octopus and cured salmon, and both were outstanding, especially the oysters. This spot is perfect for a first date cozy, chic, and offering a fantastic view of the city.

We had an average experience, and especially the service was below average. We asked them to split the bill and they refused it because we were group of 8! So what is the point of split the bill for smaller groups? Also at the time of payment the waiter was looking multiple times to the payment machine to for whatever reason. The price was unreasonable and the food quality was average. You can find better options to spend your evening!

I was hoping this place would be better since reopening but the brunch menu left something to be desired. First as an update, they ve moved to the 9th floor and renamed from former Public School on the ground floor. Pros: Ambience and views were great, service was also on point. Cons: That said, brunch is about the food and this was lackluster. The salmon eggs Benny wasn t great - hollandaise wasnt good and the addition of pickled onion did nothing for the dish. Waffle fries were good though. Also got the duck croquette for $20 and was not worth the price at all. Overpowering taste of mustard, tasted no duck - which was shredded inside. Tasted like a salt and mustard corn pop. Only redeeming quality was the presentation. The Miracle breakfast was standard. Nothing special - but did not look or taste like anything out of the ordinary. Overall, I hope they revamp the brunch menu here, otherwise they can t compete against nearby brunch places like Maison Selby.

Seems like it was too strong texture and taste. Was not good cauliflower was hard to chew , the chef should look into it . And another was pistachio kebabs was heavy didnt have any mixture or like other turkish kebabs do. and also tasteless .

we booked this place for a special night a month in advance and they ended up moving us to a below average table. even after several calls they ended up giving us a secluded area with poor lighting and ended up changing our table twice. i wont recommend this place as it has few decent tables and the booking is not reliable. they ruined our night even after spending more than 1000 dollars.

My girlfriend and myself went there for drinks and would probably have stayed for dinner after, but the service was so terrible that we left after 1 drink each. The ambience and decor is great and we would have loved to spend a few hours there, but it took a while for someone to come take our order, and then our drinks came, no napkins or anything, just two overpriced drinks. We had to ask for napkins, which took someone a while to bring. No one came to check if we need to order anything else. We had to wait a while to get anyone s attention as they all seemed busy discussing something! For overpriced drinks it s was a very lousy service. Even a road side bar has better service than them. After one drink each we decided to leave and go to another restaurant for drinks and dinner. Very disappointed .will not be visiting again

My friends and I had a birthday dinner at Skylight and the service was exceptional. It was unfamiliar ends to us so we were running late, however the Staff and hostess were so incredibly kind to hold our table for us until we had arrived. We had also brought our own cake which flipped over when we were in the car. When then hostess brought our cake for dessert, we were surprised to see they completely fixed up the cake with lots of decorations and the cake looked even better than before. The food was great too, awesome view at night. Definitely recommend, will be visiting again!!

Went to skylight yesterday with my sisters and ordered some apps as well as a turkish coffee martini. On the menu it says order for the table for shifting sands and an experience . $26 for a regular espresso martini. I could have gotten a regular espresso martini and sprinkled some cinnamon dust on top. We asked our server where the experience was and he brushed it off

First time there .great drinks

We went here for after dinner drinks. Decent drinks and nice venue. Drinks were on the pricier side but expected. I thought the overall experience was ok.

We had a great time. Jasmine served us, and she was very friendly, attentive, and talkative. The service staff, in general, really made an effort to connect with their clients and were committed to delivering excellent service. Thanks a lot! We definitely recommend Skylight.

Yeah, I would skip. Took out of town friends here and was expecting a nice relaxing weekend brunch service. Instead they had us wait forever (while the place was empty and we had reservations) to get seated. Their tables are tiny and all their cutlery is HUGE so table real estate was never paid attention to. Service was slow and erratic. Food was served cold and very underwhelming.

Had a great dinner at Skylight. The food, decor, ambiance and service were all very good. The chefs take on some Middle Eastern classics is interesting and worth the try. Would definitely recommend this for a date night.

I am so disappointed, recommend that our friend have her birthday here, what a mistake! The service was aweful water cups were empty no one came to ask if we want more told them about a celery allergy they gave food with celery, meat came and the potatoes came 15 minutes later so the meat was cold. Desserts came and the coffee arrived 10 minutes after. When it came to pay the bill we were 4 couples that ate differently and when we asked for seperage bills they outright refused! When we said its ok well figure it out and pay with 4 cards they said no! Only 1 card can pay. I have been to many restaurants too many tbh lol, all over the world! And never have i ever had such a bad experience in my life! A total disaster! I will never ever return and tell everyone i know why not to ever go here. Food was still good, and the atmosphere and music were great though to be honest. Vegetarian options: many of the dishes. Dietary restrictions: Psyliac, vegeterian, food allergies.

Great place to take a date to for drinks. The atmosphere is so good. All the staff that works at Skylight are awesome people. Our server was a blast, so friendly, upbeat and fun to chat with. The hostess was so polite. The views are great of Bloor East. They have a DJ who plays a mix of everything. Definitely will go again.

Skylight provides a well decorated ambience and an elegant atmosphere. Its a great place to chat and catch up but other than that the place is a little over hyped. The place is pricey as expected while the food is average or slightly above average. It was a late night on a weekend but the service is all over. They also do an early last call for both food and drinks which i find a bit odd. We were also brought to a table that wasnt entire clean. No plates or table napkins to start with, I had to take it from the other table. Either way, I stand with what I said that this place is a great place to catch up. Id be happy to come back if my friends or colleagues are near the area, just not for dinner, maybe just for drinks. Wheelchair accessibility: There s an elevator to get to the restaurant

Not the best view in the city as it is obstructed. The food and drink were good.

Skylight has great ambience and it s really nice to enjoy the terrace especially in summer but the food is really average, we had hoped for better flavours and portion sizes. Service is nice and fast but also it wasn t too busy when we went so not sure if that s the usual or one off.

I came here for my sisters bday I had a horrible experience. We came to get only drinks. I waited 1 hour just to receive my cocktail. Upon arrival we didnt receive the menu or even water. The waitresses wouldnt even look at our direction. They do not know how to accommodate to customers. Absolutely 0/5 experience.

Had an amazing experience with our server Connie. She made our night memorable. The food is not authentic Mediterranean it s a fusion. So please don t go in thinking it s Mediterranean. Ambiance is great, service is great by Connie. But not authentic Mediterranean.

The varied seating options from lounge couches to bar seats added to the experience. While the hostess was friendly, some servers fell short. This was surprising, given the exceptional service Ive experienced as a frequent guest on previous visits to the lounge and restaurants on lower floor of the hotel. Despite hunger prompting me to eat the meat, both my experience and that of my friend, who found her tartare lacking in taste despite its appealing presentation, left much to be desired. Humus: The dish was presented beautifully, with thick, perfectly round warm pita and seed-covered flatbread crisps. The texture was smooth and velvety, though the depth of flavor could have been more developed. While the pita outshone the flatbread crisps, both paired well with the spread. Overall, it s a solid 3.5/5. Pistachio Crusted Kebab: The dishs presentation exceeded expectations, with skewers elegantly displayed on a metal structure with a sauce plate underneath. However, upon the first bite, disappointment set in. The meat was room temperature, dry, and slightly overcooked. The lack of discernible spices left me questioning its pistachio-crusted description. The accompanying sauce did not complement the dish, leading me to use hummus as a dip instead. Overall, it s a 1.5/5. After perusing some of the reviews, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the staff takes feedback seriously and actively seeks ways to enhance the dining experience. One guest had expressed concern about the kebab lacking sides. When I ordered the dish, the server not only clarified that it only came with the sauce but also kindly inquired if I wished to add anything else. This proactive approach to addressing customer feedback speaks volumes about their dedication to improving and ensuring customer satisfaction. In conclusion, while the restaurants ambiance was delightful and ideal for a romantic evening, inconsistencies in food quality and service detracted from the overall experience. I remain hopeful that the restaurant will consider feedback and strive for improvement. Perhaps a return visit under different circumstances will yield a more satisfying outcome.

Cool place in an oddly situated W hotel. The prices are definitely hotel prices. Cocktails get up to $30 and apps are overpriced. That being said it was all pretty good.

It has good food but menu is isnt reflective of toronto multi culturism. It doesnt pan across good meat and veggie ingredient spread. The ambiance is generally good but music is too loud to even have a conversation with people on the table. The rooftop makes excellent dining experience. Servers are typically nice and hospitable (worth voluntarily giving them a high tip) with the ocasional rude. My basic problem was to find the entrance of the restaurant from the public school cafe and lunch room. When visiting first time, there is no way to say wether the elevators go to rooms or to restaurants. Guess now i hear they have a hostess desk with no host. But good enough to self identify.If signage is done better it will complete the experience. Specially to match ratings of W Vegetarian options: There are options but very niche

Had a really nice time! The drinks were lovely and a nice selection! The ambiance is fantastic. A great place for dinner with friends or with your partner and it s pretty spacious :) A bit confusing on how to enter, you can ask the people at the coffee shop downstairs there is a door off of it that leads to an elevator!

We visited skylight for our anniversary tonight and were incredibly impressed by the service and atmosphere. Our server Connie was so personable and friendly, she really made our experience special and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. The ambience is beautiful, we ordered the kebab s and 1/2 chicken with the cranberry rice. Everything was flavourful, we enjoyed our cocktails and our dinner. Would 100% recommend for a night out, you won t be disappointed!

Its not realistically in my price range to be a regular here, but as a treat for myself this was unbeatable. The High Park is an otherworldly cocktail and the food - I had the charred octopus, oysters, and shrimp cocktail - was unimpeachable. Kurt provided one of the most incredible curated dining/drinking experiences Ive ever had in Toronto!

Too many good things to share about this place. We booked the Loft at SKYLIGHT for a private dinner recently and it was such an amazing experience. The ambiance of this place is great, the music was perfect, the food was phenomenal, drinks along with mocktails was exactly what we wanted. Everyone who works here is so kind. The staff from first conversation months ago to the end of the night was wonderful. Carly who helped with the private dinner booking was thorough, and kind, and just a delight to chat with. Thank you for being so responsive and helpful. The day of the dinner, Karen was the Manager on site and she helped take care of anything that was needed. Made us feel so welcome, and very professional and kind! Our servers- Sydney and Connie were incredible. They understood exactly what we needed...took extra care of those with dietary restrictions and kept the dinner on pace as we required. Super attentive and truly a dream team to service your event. I definitely recommend this place for a private event. Thank you to your whole team for everything. There was staff whose name we did not get such as other servers, the bartender etc. But we spoke to each one at some point and truly thank you to everyone. The night was perfect, and exactly what we wanted!

This place was OK, some of the food was good, some of the food was meh. The volume of music change that happened around 930 / 10 o clock was intense. You could no longer have a conversation. My biggest annoyance was we were running so I was courteous and called them, told them we d be about 10 minutes and I was rudely reminded that we had a two hour maximum for our booking. When we got there, nobody mentioned the two hour maximum and the service was very slow. We were there for much longer than two hours as we were a group of eight people, so the comment the phone was completely unnecessary and left a sour taste in my mouth from the beginning.

I came here alone to have a drink at the bar. I was approached by a man who made my dining experience a little uncomfortable and the bar staff did a really good job of noticing this and making sure I felt safe and comfertable.

Was disappointed with the food, especially the kabab. The dish includes no vegetables and only includes the kabab with the tzatziki. It gets tiring to eat after a while. The appetizers were good, and so were the drinks. The server was very nice and the ambiance was pretty nice.

I organized a work event at skylight for our office holiday dinner. From the planning stage with our Event Coordinator Grace, till we exited the venue, the service was impeccable. The menu catered to every dietary restriction and the options were exquisite and enjoyed by all. The servers who attended to us too were amazing, fun and and so eager to wait on us and attend to everyone s needs. Never a dull moment and I am certain no one felt they weren t taken care of. Beautiful place and very nice vibes.. I met Monica at the front with her beautiful smile and she made sure I get the comfortable seats and very well behavior. Ordered couple of things but what I liked most is the: HARISSA GIGUERE CHICKEN and CONFIT DUCK CROQUETTES !! So good. The kebabs werent very juicy and felt hard and chewy. So overall good experiences!

Went to SkyLight this weekend to celebrate my birthday. The staff was incredibly friendly, really made it a point to make me feel special on my big day. Loved Skylight at the W hotel, went for the Valentines Day fixed menu, and had an amazing time! This place is such a vibe. The cocktails are delicious, you could easily just come for drinks, but the food hit it out of the park. A beautiful representation of Mediterranean food with an elevated touch. The wagyu was INCREDIBLE, and the Brussels sprouts were the perfect side for it. The branzino was done perfectly, and you could tell it was very fresh. The menu came with a palate cleanser of prosecco and rose water, which was a sorbet served on a plate of ice, and it really elevated the experience and added to the romantic menu. Desert was a lovely rich chocolate and cherry cake presented as a heart shape and white chocolate macarons. The service was also great, Cat our server made us feel very special as well as the rest of the staff! The regular menu was also looking like I might have to come back and give it a go!

I had high hopes going into this restaurant after seeing multiple tiktoks. The ambience is very beautiful but the food is below average. We tried the pomegranate salmon which made us both feel nauseous. The $23 price tag was not worth the 8 bite size slices were received. It came with a sauce that did was extremely salty. Then we moved on to our mains which was $30 something for simply 2 pistachio kabobs with a sauce. No sides or anything including. Though the skewers are decently sized, the taste is no different than your average kabob shop in the GTA. We found the kabobs boring to eat on their own so requested a side after submitting our order. We recieved jeweled rice I believe it was called that was extremely dry and seemed old. The lamb shank was tender and soft but again for the 30 something price tag, we found one singular lamb shank with the risotto that tasted average to have a heftier price tag that deserved. For dessert, we tried the baklava cheesecake but it was a poor attempt at a cool infusion. Its maybe 1 singular sheet of baklava with a pathetic creamy mouse as the cheesecake . As it was my fiancées birthday, they wrote out happy birthday on a piece of fondant which was inedible. Overall, the ambiance and service were the only nice things about the restaurant. The food is below average at best with outrageous price tags.

This restaurant was soo good, the service the ambiance was really amazing. The food we got some chicken that comes with fries and rice a solid 8/10 just that it was too salty. That s how I decided to get the cranberry salad that s the best salad I ve ever had. A solid 100/10 for real. The DJ Indigo was lit with the songs she was playing. She made our night 100% better. Also the food is halal except for some items definitely check with them.

Beautiful but it s DEAD and the staff seem to close as early as they want. Don t believe the posted hours. They closed the bar at 11:20 and refused to serve anyone even though the front desk and other bars said they were open until 12 and sent us up. Very disappointing location and vibe for a 30th birthday - go to any other hotel/bar downtown.

It was a great dinner experience I had at Skylight at the W Hotel! The pistachio covered grilled kebab was authentic and delicious! Also had the salmon ceviche which was refreshing and savoury! Overall great experience except the parking situation! Great selection of rum also as most place don t carry a diverse selection as skylight! Would love to come back and try the cocktails!

Hostess at the front was rude. I just wanted to pop in for a quick drink. Haven t tried the food there but the drink was just ok .not worth $30 after tax and tip. The decor is lounge, not a proper sit down. Wouldn t recommend nor be back.

Horrible service. Waiting hours for each course. In some instance half our table got the third course and the other half had to wait. For the amount being charged per person, one would expect at least the meals to be on time. Its past midnight and the other half of our table is still waiting for the 3rd course. Hoping theres a McDonalds nearby. We are about to leave.

It s not good when you call and reserve a table from 3 weeks before and when you get here they give you wrong table and when you mention it that you have reservations they only reply you that their system got some bugs. Had a room booked and reserved this resto. got seated and then had to wait 20min and we weren t even served water and nobody came to serve us and then left because someone that came after us were served first, we were also seated in high seats even thought table seat was available

Skylight is a Patio bar situated inside The W Toronto. Came here for some drinks while I was staying at The W. Lovely ambience and very flavourful drinks. They do have food on their menu but we didnt try any as were here only for drinks. The place is a bit high-end but is usually very busy and popular. Staff are quick and warm and will ensure you are having a good time.

This place is a vibe! Gorgeous decor with some amazing interiors. Very roomy and you never feel crowded by other guests. The staff is super friendly and really make you feel welcome. But lets get to the food. It is delectable with a capital D. My friends and I ordered a bunch of items and the ones that stood out for me were the Mohamarra, the Harissa chicken and the minced meat kebabs! The flavours feel like an explosion in your mouth and in the best way possible. People who truly understand flavours can appreciate the food here. It almost feels like the chef curates every bite for you. The aromatic spices in the kebabs, the crunch of the nuts, even the chicken did not have a single dry morsel! Skylight is definitely recommended for a fancy night out with your loved ones. Hats off to the chefs and wait staff for an unforgettable experience :)

My girlfriend took me here on my birthday and she got mad at me for not eating the food. That s how bad the food was $300 later. Save your money and avoid this joint at all costs. Nothing about this place is middle eastern and the kebab with the pistachios.. I m going to throw up thinking about it.

Skylight is absolutely one of my favorites in Toronto. Great vibe, nice setting ambiance, EXCELLENT food, service is even better! My favorite is the first salad like thing (forgot the name) but it has kale, special kind yogurt, a bit nuts and TRUFFLE! Wow

Skylight is a journey. A delightful journey you can take your tastebuds on. The ambiance is breathtaking whilst the food will make you reach a state of nirvana. Definitely try the truffle labneh and muhammara. The hummus, babaganoush and pickles are amazing as well. For the mains, 2 things you absolutely cannot miss is the whole Harissa chicken and Beef kebab! They will melt in your mouth. The saffron rice is amazing as well. All in all, a fabulous experience. Kudos to Sous Chef Karan Ramchandani and his team who give you a gastronomic experience you wont regret!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was the BEST experience ever, Connie is amazing and took care of us very well, she and Adolfo made us feel like stars Food is beyond delicious too, my favourite was the raw bar!! Highly recommended, we will be back for sure!!

Skylight is your destination to get away and feel like youre on top of the world. Located right in the heart of Yorkville , near Bloor Street and Park Avenue. Skylight is a premier and sophisticated venue for you to enjoy. Located right in the heart of the W Hotel, The menu at Skylight is primarily a Mediterranean restaurant with dishes ranging from Hummus to Oysters to Lamb to amazing appetizers. The service at Skylight is really awesome as the staff keep everything under control and help you choose the right options from the menu. Id give it a 10/10. I had the luxury of getting a good seat in the restaurant as the restaurant has a lounge area as well as a dining area as well. The rooftop patio is very luxurious and you get a great view of Toronto from the view.

The food way too expensive not even that good I wouldnt recommend this place thats why its empty the only good there is their server they are nice but the restaurant so expensive not ideal..

The atmosphere here is great, its beautiful inside. There selection of wine is interesting with some local choices from Ontario. Excellent customer service, cocktails are beautiful!! The price was also reasonable. Would go here again 10 out of 10.

Was told its because we had a late reservation 1045pm, although tables were available (people came after us got better seating). My boy wanted food, kitchen closed at 11pm, but the Manager came through. Was really only out to celebrate another year on the Ontario Sunshine list with a few drinks & my guests wanted to check the place out. Will I be back? I wanted to extend from a party of 3 to a party of 5 and they said they were fully booked. Upon arriving my group was taken to a corner of the restaurant and every table was empty. I was extremely disappointed that they told me they couldnt accomodate and the place was empty. What a pretentious staff ! Severely overpriced food for what I received. And to be honest the vibe was sooooooooooOo bad for a Saturday for them to be that stuck up about changing my reservations. EPIC LET DOWN. Will not be recommending this spot to any future clients flying in.

Came here for drinks for my birthday on a Saturday with 2 girlfriends and it has a great atmosphere. Theres a DJ spinning mostly (what seems like) latin-inspired music and the venue is just beautiful. Cant wait for the summer-time when the patio opens up. I cant really speak to the food, as just one person ordered the octopus, but she said she enjoyed it. I ordered the chocolate dessert and it was amazing. Our waitress was so amazing and attentive to our needs and she was so sweet and put sparklers on my dessert and took it off the bill - it was really nice. Cocktails were great! Would definitely come back for drinks again.

Its absolutely beautiful! The soft lighting, eclectic furnishings, and minamilist furniture was beautiful. The drinks however were over priced. I feel like a martini doesnt need to be $30. But I have been here before and the food is absolutely delicious. I dont remember the drinks being so overpriced.

I am a Silver Elite member. I stayed at the W for 3 nights for a work trip. There was a group of 40-50 of us staying at the hotel. I came into the bar to see if any of my colleagues were having drinks. The hostess blocked me from entering despite me telling her I was just looking for friends. As other reviews have mentioned the hostess was rude and unwelcoming. She demanded to know my friends name and when I told her I wasnt sure what name it was under and just wanted to check if they were inside she rolled her eyes and said you dont know your friends name. When I explained to a manager and gave him my room number I expected some follow-up, but heard nothing. I never was able to get a drink with my colleagues who were inside.

Great location and music. Had a hard time getting the server because we got all our drink except for my friends who we were celebrating. Food is fine. Warning to people the upstairs isn t great unless you want something more quiet and private.

Great ambience, and great service by our host. We went for the Taste of Mexico menu (picture attached). However, the food was below our expectations and even below average compared any Mexican restaurant in Toronto. The presentations were perfect yet they fail to make up for the taste. I would recommend going only for drinks.

Ambiance is very romantic, but also perfect for an intimate evening with a close group of friends. Interior is very boho-chic. For drinks we ordered the lavender sky and an old fashioned. Went during the cinco de mayo weekend where they had a special mexican inspired menu. The only downside was the menu didnt have much vegetarian friendly options. So we only ordered the guac.

Everything we tried was delicious! My only complaint was the service was a little slow. I highly recommend getting the Beef Kabab and the Saffron Sultana rice. The Blood Orange crème brûlée was also delicious!

I went to the W Hotel s SKYLIGHT for the first time with a friend and we sat in the lounge area. The place has a great atmosphere, the decor is beautiful and there was a DJ playing so it had a really fun lounge vibe - it reminded me of PUBLIC Hotel s lounge in NYC (which I also love!) Our drinks and food were also great, I loved the confit duck croquettes! However, the real standout was our server, Connie. She was so attentive, funny, kind and made us feel like we were getting the 5 star treatment :) I ll definitely be back and I ll be making sure to ask if I can be seated with Connie again!

We had one of the worst experiences ever. Our table wasnt available until 10:50 despite the fact that we had a reservation for 10:30. Instead, they made us wait in the lounge and urged us to make our orders because the kitchen is about to close. The server crystal was absloutely horrible. I had to ask her who she was because she didnt introduce herself when she approached the table and asked if we would like some drinks. She remained anonymous. She didnt greet me. She was furious for some unknown reason. After that, she didnt follow up with us to ask how our dinner was or if we needed anything. We had ordered desert because it was a birthday celebration, and when she brought it out, it practically slid it on the table. Although we didnt care, she was utterly unfriendly and didnt even say happy birthday. None of the staff members were pleasant, and everyone was quite upset for some reason. Never again will I come here. Service sh*t. 0 our of 10.

I work in the food industry and I love going to different restaurants around the city, and BOOM, I found this gem of a restaurant. Best Service Ever (Thanks Connie). Exquisite and unique food (Lamb and seafood stews, appetizers and desserts)to die for. and the best rice ever. The ambience fantastic (elegant and modern). It was really an outstanding experience, all my friends have been raving about it.....Highly recommended Restaurant!!!!!!

I love visiting this new hotel in downtown Toronto as they have a number of great venues, including the Skylight rooftop bar! I recently brought a colleague for Summerlicious, and we had a great experience! The portions and offerings for this menu are a bit different than the regular menu, but the quality and service are maintained. We weren t able to enjoy the lovely patio given the weather, but it s great if you have a chance! You wouldn t think that a typical hotel restaurant like this would be known for Middle Eastern fare, but it s authentic and delicious! We had the hummus with chicken, the baba ghanouj, as well as the Wagyu beef kebabs, and they were all very well presented, flavorful, and very filling! They also make a mean, Paloma, which is my favourite beverage! While you re visiting, be sure to check out the beautiful library bar with a large open fireplace not to mention a Moët and Chandon vending machine! Thank you, kindly and I ll be back soon!

As soon as you walk in you feel like you ve been teleported to a NYC rooftop restaurant. The decor is sophisticated yet modern. Waitress was knowledgeable about how to order with food allergies and most of the menu can be made gluten-free celiac safe. Ordered mocktails custom from the bartender since we didn t drink. Food was filling. A bit pricey and had to wait for our server for 15-20min before ordering drinks/food but the rest of the evening went smoothly. Would definitely come back! Food was decent, if seafood is your thing it s good. The lamb skewer was the best item we tried. The ambiance at the restaurant is great. Probably would not go again as you can probably find something more filling for about half the cost.

Myself and a group of friends attended Skylights Soca Brunch during Caribana weekend, and all I have to say is WOW! The atmosphere, food, service, music and drinks were phenomenal. I didnt even feel like I was in Toronto. The team did a wonderful job at marrying Caribbean culture and cuisine with an upscale, city vibe. There was a DJ that set a fun ambiance, along with live musicians who provided wonderful entertainment. I must say, the selection of dessert was certainly the cherry on top - there was an array of handmade sweets, chocolates, ice cream and cake. I would certainly come back again, and I really hope they host another Soca Brunch next year! Thank you to Johann and his team for such a wonderful time.

Had high expectations for this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointment. The pistachio Kebobs were not very good and everything else was average considering the price and portion size. Much better restaurants in the city. I would not got again.

Dubai standard venue in Toronto. Beautiful place with a five star décor. You can smell the exquisite odor of W Hotels as you walk the lobby. Reminds you of the awesome hotels in Dubai and Qatar. Service was outstanding and food was great. Wine selection is top notch as well. Walking on bloor street is bit unsafe but thats Toronto. So better take an Uber or drive there.

Me and my partner came here for a few cocktails before pre-dinner and and were quite pleased with the service. As we walked into the Hotel, there was someone who redirected us to the elevated, and happen to bump into the GM who kindly introduced himself and brief overview of the restaurant on our way up. The front desk/hostess was accomodating, however not overly inviting. Our server was great, checked in a few times and recommended great cocktail options. The the atmosphere was great, well designed, with some flair to it. We didn t have any food, however, when we saw the food coming out it smelt amazing and looked great, will definitely need to try when we come back.

I love this place. The decor, the cocktails, the service, and the drinks are phenomenal. I think it is a perfect place to have a date night or gather with friends. Theres a separate section to sit more than 10 ppl for little privacy. I highly recommend this place.

We went there to celebrate me and my sister birthday, the food was good( actually was big portion, more than I expected as usually in this kind of restaurant the meal portion is very small) Also the waitress was very nice and she had attention to our service, at the end also they offered us slice of birthday cake !

Beautiful decor and patio. But apart from the vibe, the food was didnt hit the mark. Dont mind paying for good food - but if you want to check out this place, come for drinks. The best part of the entire meal was the babaganoush / sharak sampler. We had the pistachio crusted kebabs, braised sticky beef short ribs and chicken. The meat was just okay on the kebabs, nothing special and the flavor was lacking. Same with the short ribs. They were nice and tender, but it was very bland and mediocre. We had one super star waitress (thank you!) who was so on the ball with everything and explaining everything. One of the other waitresses was a bit more all over the place and putting random items all over the table not explaining who they were for or what it was. Overall - service is great. The host was really nice as well. Honestly it is a nice spot in the city. We didnt have many drinks (just some sangria which was delicious). So would definitely check it out sometime for some apps and drinks. But there are so many better places for food. We have a lot of persian and syrian friends, lebanese family, and so none of our expectations were met based on the type of cuisine that was offered. Check out places like Chef Reza, Shatter Abbas, Reyna on King, even Amal Toronto for delicious eats. And another beautiful place with great ambiance, outdoor terrace and great drink selection is The Writers Room Bar in the Park Hyatt Toronto across from the ROM. Gorgeous set-up, just set your expectations when you come here and you will have a nice time.

The abundance of positive reviews are actually beyond me. This is a really beautiful restaurant no doubt, the ambiance is super nice but the food and service, as well as price point and concept are extremely lacking. I booked Skylight for a dinner for 11 only since they said they had no minimum spend and could split the bill evenly. The day of, the server had no idea what I was talking about and I ended up paying 1 bill for the whole table when I confirmed on the phone multiple times that they could bring the machine around to everyone. The food is so incredibly overpriced, especially as absolutely nothing was authentic or good. $35 for two kabobs, which were not authentic, fresh, or tasted like middle eastern food at all is insane. The dips, apps, bread, everything was genuinely terrible. We had to send the $13 tiny rice bowl back since it tasted like old rice that had been sitting out and boiled with unsalted chlorinated water. A lot of the food is simply dressed up with greens or pomegranate seeds, and is a massive bait and switch from their menu. The lavash they list on the menu is really just a couple of dehydrated sesame crackers. Its important to note I was expecting to pay a premium for food items but this was nothing short of ridiculous. Everyone ended up spending ~$60 per head for terrible food. If you want upscale middle eastern dining youre better off going to Laylak or Amal. (Also the DJ was questionable)

It was a very beautiful night. The outdoor seating was one of the most wonderful nights for me in Toronto. The services are excellent, the food is excellent, the prices are acceptable. The only thing I did not like is the desserts. They should take good care of them and add new dishes.

Its always a great time here! Sitting on the wood where you get to interact with the bartenders/mixologists is a top-notch experience hands down.

Brought a group of 12 for my birthday and server was very rude and forced one payment on a single person (me) during Halloween weekend. There was a protest outside and I ve also likely been charged a crazy amount per head because we couldn t make the reservation time due to the protest. Never again.

Server (Connie) was rude and condescending, she forced us to pay under one single bill and said this isnt a club you cant go and order at the bar if you want a drink then again forced us to buy some drinks after her Rude attitude. Later the group saw her pointing and laughing at us with her co-worker. She was very stressed that we came as a big group even though we established that we would all want to pay separately for obvious reasons. She later tried to walk away from constructive feedback come a fellow customer.

We were simply blown away from the food. Yes the food was a little pricy but the vibes, the decor and the atmosphere made it worth while. Even without the decor, the food was simply unbelievable! When it comes to the drinks, be sure the bring the bank because the drink prices are a little out of hand. And be sure to specify if you want lower or higher end for your drinks and they can range. We went for a friends birthday and had a party of 18 but the service was phenomenal. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here at least once as you will not be disappointed!

I took my husband here for his birthday. The Australian Wagyu was soooo good, one of the best steaks I ve ever had. Loved the atmosphere, gorgeous bar. Food : 5/5

Beautiful scenery . Food is on the pricy in regards to portion size but the lobster was good. Our host was amazing , she recommended and broke down many things making it easier to understand in order to place our desired orders

as much as the appearance and atmosphere of this place is very pleasant, the food-to-price ratio is just ok. we ordered the Sharak platter, as a starter was nice, but cost $75. for main course we chose the Charred Octopus ($32) and the 22oz prime steak ($140) which was with way too much salt (the smokes fries were very good). the wine list (by the glass) is disappointing for a place at that expected level and prices - they charge for a glass what a bottle costs at the LCBO. Im ok paying $20-$30 per glass but not for a $20 level bottle of wine. Last but not least - please do something about the espresso - it is just not good (sorry).

Lovely atmosphere. Cuisine is beautifully presented. Light fare for pairing with their limited but exquisitely crafted cocktails. Moroccan-style menu. Downstairs bar area has larger tables but seating is cramped. Seating upstairs is not conducive to wearing short skirts and heels as it is all low lounge pouffes and benches with only a handful of bistro style tables. Excited to revisit once we are able to sit on the patio which hopefully will be a year round experience?!

Visited Skylight on Friday night with my friend, the ambiance was great. Our Server, Violetta was sweet and very attentive- she recommended the Sharak and Skylight tower which was terrific Highly recommend for a date night.

A new spot in Yorkville that s pretty decent. It feels like an upscale spot with a fairly good selection of drinks. Although the food is still overpriced for what it is. We tried the shakshuka, the harissa chicken, and the cauliflower stew.

Terrible experience, the server (blonde one) was trying to force us to sit in a very bad table, and despite We were already made the reservations days before she still was trying to make fake excuses not to change our table. I left and never be back to this trashy place.

Really surprised by the other reviews. Just had dinner there and the food was incredible. Typical W Hotel vibes. The staff were super friendly and knew exactly how to take care of dietary requirements (I need gluten free and they made sure I had chickpea flour pita bread!!). Will absolutely be back.

Ive been to Skylight many times, and leaving a review for the first time because it is worth it. Great DJ, delicious cocktails and as a bonus our server Danielle was amazing. Totally recommend, the music, the ambiance, food and service are all A+. We had beef Kebab and Shoulder lamb; and enjoyed them both beside the Fatoush salad and Cured Salmon.

The music was way too loud. This is not a place to go if you want to talk to somebody. This is also not a place to go if you want to dance because it is not a club and has no dance floor. The material of the curtains was cheap and blocked the beautiful view of the floor to ceiling windows. Fake plants everywhere. Overall a very confusing experience. Would not recommend.

I was apprehensive because of the mediocre reviews on Google, but a friend and I decided to try this place out yesterday. Everything from the service, to the drinks, to the food was amazing. Id recommend making a reservation, as the place fills up quite fast. Will definitely be returning again!
