a lovely neighbourhood spot, great food and love the atmosphere. a special thank you to the kind server who came back over to my table to tell me there was now a free patio spot, and encouraged me to take my time and read my book. I was having a hard day and this made all the difference.

I went for happy hour, the prime burger was very tasty, however, their happy hour deal was very limited (just the burger and 4 drinks). Although the atmosphere was decent, I prefer to go somewhere for Happy Hour.

One of my favourite burgers in this city, hands down. Atmosphere, service and food/drink all tops in this little spot in the East end. Should be on everyones burger list.

Server forgot to put in our dinner order, other tables seated after us and were served their food (same dish we ordered) 30 minutes before we received ours. No apology from the server for the mix up she just stopped serving our table and asked another server to serve us (had this conversation near our table so it was clear). Only brought 1 of 2 drinks that we ordered.

Arguably the best burger in the city. The place is very dark but great ambiance for a romantic atmosphere evening.

The waitress with short hair was absolutely rude. Her attitude made the visit unpleasant, and I wont be coming back.

My date here was not worth $130. The drinks were very strong, and I like my drinks to be strong but this was too much. The fries were generic fries you can buy in costco, not fries that are wedges or home fries. Just regular skinny generic fries. Theres not enough sides on the menu. The steak was a big slab of meat but took 30mins to get to our table.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Laid back vibe. Great music with the right level playing so you dont have to yell having a conversation. Drinks are very well made and the food is upscale and delicious. Everything is reasonably priced

My first and only negative Google review. Food and drinks were fine, but everyone in our group agreed the night was ruined by the needlessly rude service. No one pays hundreds of dollars to be talked down to at every single opportunity by staff. There is no scenario where I could ever go back here on my own dime. Ridiculous.

Great place for sharing plates. Good cocktails. The only reason the atmosphere doesnt get a 5 star because its too dark. I get it you want the bar vibe, but I hate having to use my phone flashlight to see the menu. A pet peeve of mine.

Our server was great. Like the other reviews said it s so dark in there, good if you like moody atmospheres. Food was great it s just very pricey. Spent $100 and we were still hungry afterwards

Cool bar with a relaxed vibe! The drinks are served fresh, ice cold (as they should be) and are absolutely delicious, I swear the bartender makes the best classic cosmo in Toronto! The house drinks are fabulous too. I ve come with a friend a couple of times, they always have space for two. Most recently I spent a Friday night here with a group of 4, and although they managed to fit us in, I definitely recommend a reso after 7pm if coming with a group. Oysters are fresh and delicious, and my husband said the burger was one of the best he has ever had we ll definitely be back for more good times! :)

Walked in at 8:45 PM on a Monday. They were supposed to be open until midnight, but the hostess informed us that theyd be closing at about 10. Tough to swallow when I drove 30 mins to be there. Other than that, service was lovely, prime rib burger is a solid option, and cocktails were delicious.

This place is absolutely fire. Friend recommended it a couple years back and have been consistently going for some time now. They have phenomenal cocktails and I swear the best burger in the city. Also have off menu cocktails which are crazy good. Ask for them :)

I was here with my girlfriend and we ordered one drink each and some food, which was pretty good. However, throughout the night we were continuously berated to order further drinks, each time politely declining. After paying (and leaving a 20% tip), we were quickly told that they would have reservations coming in at some point, and that we should leave. There was no mention of this when we were given the table, and there were a couple free tables when we left, with no one waiting for service. I found this quite bizarre and disrespectful, and as a former bartender/server possibly the result of inexperience. Needless to say, we wont be back anytime soon.

Favourite restaurant in Toronto. Come for a cocktail, stay for the meal, and stay longer for their amazing wine selection. Enjoy their awesome interior decorations too.

A friend and I went yesterday. It was waaay too dark for our liking. I believe this was due to us missing a lamp by our table? Either way, it s very dark in general with lamps on the wall and candles (real ones) on the table. We had to use the flash on our phones to view the menu lol. We had a total of 4 drinks which costed us $85 after tip. So it s pricy. Food selection very scarce and they don t offer traditional bar food btw (fries, etc), so if that s you re forte, you ll be disappointed. It s more of a date night/chill vibe. Nothing speculator. Staff friendly in general.

Easily one of the best burgers in Toronto, but unfortunately none of the other dishes I had even came close (green goddess salad and beef tartare). I would definitely go back but only for the burger.

Great cocktail selection, good music, and decent selection of a variety of foods for all dietary restrictions but probably the BEST burger Ive had since Ramonas (Thornhill). It gets pretty packed on weekends so expect longer than normal wait times or go early.

Hey Jake was most convivial and was our Sherpa through a very unique and adventurous cocktail menu.. Call ahead for this spot if you are seeing a show at opera house.. 11/10

Please for your own sanity avoid this place, horrible customer service, they literally told I am dumb not to book a table in advance. If you having a fun night out please dont go there,they wont have space for you if you are not young white male. Please dont ecourage this nonsense, go to other authentic places near by who care about customer service and kindness.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cocktails and the dessert at this place. Stumbled across it and we just walked in. Got seated at the bar and our night went from a 0 (terrible dinner in the area) to a 10.

Really friendly staff with great service. Food is tasty - green beans are a must, salad is fresh fresh. Would like to see more veggie options. Negronis are good, other cocktails are hit or miss IMO. Gets busy so recommend making a reso.

Dropped in after a show at The Opera House. What a neat spot! Bartender Ben made the absolute best Moscow Mule Ive ever tasted. I mean just phenominal! The Comrade would also be an excellent place for a first date, especially if youre into cocktails. Ill definitely be back.

Not only the best cheeseburger in the city, but the best Ive ever eaten. Make sure you have a napkin handy because its extraordinarily juicy.

Food. Top notch. Service is friendly and they try to be attractive. Atmosphere is loud. All good but dont expect to have an intimate experience with your group. Went on a Tuesday. Goreat watering hole for locals and such. Would go back for the ribeye burger! 3 drinks, burger, spilts on the oysters came out just over $100. FYI. Parking sucks but I lucked out. Be warned.

Had a little night out to celebrate and came here with a friend. This is one of his fav places in Leslieville. My friend ordered a few cocktails and they interesting and were well done. I ordered the house rosé, which was ok. The music was cool, a nice mix of retro, indie and shoegaze. Very busy place, even on a Wednesday evening it was packed. You know what, I came for the escargot ... and sadly I must have been looking at an old menu as I was advised this was no longer on offer here. I stayed for the good company, music and eccentric cabin like look to the place.

Stopped in for a quick cocktail and oysters. Im adding The Comrade to my list of places to go back to. The cocktail was delicious, and the oysters paired with a pear mignonette were sublime!

Fantastic drinks, STUNNING burger, and great service. Had to deduct 2 stars for the massive open garage door patio which lets in far too much cigarette smoke.

Atmosphere is great but food is only OK and way too pricey for what we got tbh. Sides are separate order.

Must visit place on the East end of Queen. The rest of this area is a sparse with night life but this place is a vibe. Outdoor seating available during summer, but the best spot is definitely indoors by the window that opens up. Especially if you want to have a conversation, it gets a little noisy inside. Only feedback is better lighting in the washroom area, as its not easy to find or make sure youre not making a mess. The menu is small but fun with cute cocktail names with a variety of liquor bases, and a range of small shareable and mid sized plates. I shared the tartare but looking forward to returning to trying their burger and their charcuterie and if it returns, the beef marrow.

Love their oysters, Brian is the best server in Toronto.

Service: the waitresses are giving us so much attitude (the only table with 2 Asians , everyone else are white) so it s a patio (right on the street next to parked cars). After a few drinks we asked if it s ok to smoke here, she said no you can t do it in Canada. And like not a friendly explanation The way she said it made me felt a bit uncomfortable. So I decided to tell the next waitress about it- something doesn t sit right, Idk. Perhaps it s a misunderstanding right? but here comes the worst part: before I even finish the story- she cut me off mid sentence with No smoking within 9 meters, it s the law in Canada and walked away walked away I guess I ve seen this 9m sign before, but she walked away walked away . That s rude ,racist or not ok. And then after we asked for the bill, of course. The second waitress again served the bill with no smile whatsoever, and not a word. And of course the bill took 30 seconds to arrive but the drinks took forever. Im shocked. I was expecting either friendly explanation, discussion or apology of the micro aggressive remarks but got even more aggressive treatments. Beer: local beer. really nice but the glass isn t cold Drinks: old fashioned- very smooth. Vodka soda: kinda watered down

I live across town but the prime rib burger and green goddess salad inspire specific cravings worthy of booking a babysitter for the occasional cross-town dinner date journey. The bartender is also a master of his craft. Will be back again, and again, and again.

I was at your restaurant for 5 mins when I walked up a slope to use the washroom in regular shoes. Since its tiled and has no friction, I almost slipped walking up and down. Can you please place some resistance material over the tiles to prevent any falls?

Could easily be on a Michelin guide. The burger, however, deserves a whole Michelin star. My friend and I were trembling as we ate it. I felt myself becoming religious. Then psychotic. At last I was convinced the burger was the chefs way of flirting with me. But then I saw that everyone else was also salivating and wagging their tails in a frenzied manner over the food.

Great drinks and delicious food. It is a very iconic and exotic environment placed in the Eastbound. The music is too loud, though. It s a little annoying when it gets hard to chat with your friends sitting at the other side of the table.

We had Crudo, shishito peppers and prime rib burgers. Everything was very delicious! Really like the burgers. Appetizers were on the more expensive side but very good! Service was incredible. Great ambiance & Staff was very friendly.

Went here a couple of years ago with a friend, and I have nothing but great things to say. Great drinks, delicious food, and friendly staff. Its definitely a little on the expensive side, but its what to expect in that part of the city. Will be going back soon.

Love going to the Comrade.....however please, please change the font on the menu. Being dyslexic, tired at the end of the day and may or may not be sober I simply cannot read. Are you also aware that some of your antlers on the wall are upside down? For those of us who hunt its important to us.

What a great bar to go to. Its long and skinny and might hold 50 people comfortably. Tin ceiling and brick walls covered from front to back with all sorts of game animals from birds to deer to skeletons. It is very dimly lit so reading the drink or food menu is hard but when your eyes get used to it is ok. The drinks are expensive most around $16 plus tax etc, same with the food. The food is really tasty but really expensive for the quantity served. Theyll slice a sausage paper thin and then spread it over a plate and give it a catchy name. Great taste but serious low amount. Id go back thought.

Came here, its closed. Says 5 to midnight Tuesdays. Its 7:47 pm on Tuesday and its closed. Wasted my trip.

The most shockingly expensive burger I have ever had. $21 for just a burger on a bun, no sides, not even a garnish salad. The burger was tasty, if a little greasy, but not $21 worth. Even The Keg wouldn t be so presumptuous. At least at The Keg where you pay $40-$50 for a steak, you would get impeccable service, generous sides, and complimentary bread and butter/oil. They had a single option for white wine, which was an okay wine, nothing special. $13 for a small glass! The staff were so laid back they were practically horizontal. It was difficult to know who was actually a server and they were superficially polite from the outset. The best thing I could for say for them was that they mostly left us alone to chat and didn t keep interrupting us to get us to order more.

Good food and good service, would go again.

Its dark. Even the bathroom is dark. Small menu. Ordered the prime rib burgers and I truly havent had a burger that good since Mikes Fish and Chips on Eg West shut down like 50 years ago. My son had a smoke and mirrors cocktail and really enjoyed it. He also had a ginger beer, which I tried and it was really refreshing. Back to the burgers, very simply dressed, bun had a crispy edge. Cant wait to go back for another. Service was friendly and efficient. Go early if you want a table.

One of the best places to dine at or grab a drink in Riverside/Leslieville. It gets pretty busy very frequently, so be prepared to wait a little sometimes but it is worth it. Get the burger and the tostada, you won t regret it.

Cozy atmosphere. Soft, warm interior with just enough accent lighting. Feels like you could be in back in 1800 s London. Music is also not too loud, making it possible to talk to people comfortably. The service was great.
