Beach Hill Smokehouse in Toronto

Would not go again. Restaurant reeked like smoking charcoal briquettes soaked in lighter fluid, just burnt chemical. Big D sandwiches tasted exactly like the smell along with smoke flavouring, does not actually taste like slow roasted brisket but meat coated in smoke chemicals. Like licking the inside of a soot filled oven. Unpleasant and overpriced. Mac n cheese was ok, but you get a tiny cup for like $6 which is thievery.

I could say these were the best ribs and brisket I ve ever had in Toronto. The staff is very friendly and guided me in choosing my menu. They were also very kind and offered me a delicious corn cake and a sample of wings. The best experience I would come back a thousand times over!

We came in Dec 8, 2024 when they were closing and decided on the pork belly and brisket! Sides were Mac and Cheese and those jalapeño poppers were absolutely delicious! The staff were so helpful when we asked the questions! Thank you for making such a great experience

All I can say is OMG the brisket. It is melt in your mouth flavourful. The sausage and cornbread were also excellent. Bit on the pricey side but will absolutely come back!

Amazing food, amazing service. I played an online order through the website on Friday to pick up on Saturday. Ordered briskets, sausage, burnt ends, mac and cheese. I called in advance and the gentleman on the phone was awesome and answered all my questions. The food was amazing and portions were great! Highly recommend!

I went out of my way to try this place for their thanksgiving platter after seeing their ad on Instagram - it was good but its not something I would go out of my way for again. The burnt ends were disappointing, compared to the ones I had at Bennys Barbecue. I also do not recommend dining in, as its a very run down place in an old building (personally I dont care as long as the food is good). The food ended up feeding my family for the entire week, so thats a plus. Ill try their newly opened downtown location next time as thats only 10 minutes away from where I live.

(Never visited the bathrooms so I m not sure if they are accessible)

Very good food . Genuinely creative. Biggest complaint is people that live in area complain about smoke infiltrates area buildings, maybe due to chimney being too low.

Food was okay nothing special, mediocre at best. Ribs were dry and hard to chew. Brisket was decent but under seasoned. The Mac and cheese looks nothing like the menu. Coleslaw was horrible, dry and no flavour. Peach cobbler tasted like cinnamon and nothing else. Super disappointing based on the good reviews :(

Fantastic! We hosted an event for 35 or so and Beach Hill was a no brainer! The white glove service, delivery, set up and the feast ..unreal! If you haven t had the brisket you don t know what you are missing. And the ribs, burnt ends, chicken, sausage and incredible wings are all exceptional. Darien and team treated us like gold and we are so happy we chose Beach Hill. Thanks all!

When I arrived, it was empty. The fragrance of smoke intoxicated me so profoundly that I ordered more than I could handle. I arrived without calling so my options were limited. However, what I did get...was some of the very best bbq I could have passed through my lips. On the contrary, as Im writing this its just me and the staff here. So perhaps thus spot is more of a take out spot...but what I did is a wide range of diversity behind the counter and coming in. This food deserves this place being packed...all the time. When in the 6ix this is the spot. Stop looking. Start eating. Although the food was tasty, A bit on the salty side wasnt giving any barbecue sauce which would have been nice. The servings extremely small for the price... I literally got two ribs and a small potato salad and it was $25

Went during lunch when it wasnt busy and got to speak with the owner. We told him we came because we saw the place featured on Eater and he was super nice to chat with. We ordered the pitmasters cookout and my favs were the brisket because it was soo tender and the mac and cheese.

I was here before 4 pm, and they had no sandwiches available because they ran out of buns. The restaurant is supposed to close at 8 pm, though.

This place was everything I hoped it would be. Smokey, tender, perfectly cooked meat. Phenomenal service and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable environment that suited it perfectly. We will definitely be back, and Id recommend it to anyone. Kid-friendliness: We took our almost 2 year old and our newborn. The tables were big enough to fit the carrier, and the staff were amazing with my toddler. Plus he absolutely loves the ribs and sausages.

This place is incredible. Everything Ive tried here is perfect. My go to is The Austin, with a side of baked beans and cornbread. So flavourful, tender, juicy, and delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Extremely disappointing, and weve been to a lot of BBQ places in Toronto. Extremely overpriced and underwhelming -- we ended up paying nearly 50 dollars for 4 ribs! We also ordered half a pound of burnt ends priced at 18 dollars (too much $$ for too little), mac and cheese, coleslaw, and banana pudding. The mac and cheese was mushy and overcooked, the table spoon of BBQ sauce for the ribs was cold and not unique, the coleslaw was flavourless, and the rest was just simply underwhelming. If the food was solid, maybe we wouldnt have been bothered by how ridiculously expensive our meal was. Would not recommend this place as there are way better and affordable than this one across the city.

Decided to try this after my nephew told me about and it. He s 12 bth. Very overpriced bbq. Everything was dry and very small portions. They weigh the pork ribs . My pork ribs two pieces came to $15. Please go elsewhere. Very mid overpriced food.

Very good food, very very bad sides. We ordered the brisket and it was fantastic, for sides we had Mac and cheese, which was very very dry. Even the person working there admitted it was very dry. Our favorite side was a bread bun, which they bought from outside. Will not come back.

Hard to find great southern BBQ in the city buy Beach Hill Smokehouse will be a go to I would drive out of my way for. Have the family special and get a little bit of everything. It is a mistake to miss anything on this menu!

Religiously come here once every 2 months, it s the only place I ve found to serve authentic Texan BBQ in the GTA. As a bonus the staff is great! Especially Anik, very helpful. If you re a carnivore like me, 10/10 recommend to try the place out at least once.

Been a couple of times but won t be going back. despite being just round the corner. The food is tasty there s no denying it. But come here if you want small portions of overpriced food .that s if there s anything left - both times they were out of most things. My daughter had them cater her husband s birthday party. The food was outstanding! The young man that delivered and set up the buffet was so wonderful and helpful. Absolutely everyone commented on how great everything tasted and all the flavours complimented each other so well. My whole family are foodies we do not leave great reviews often! I catered food for 30 people from here and everyone loved the food. The brisket is amazing, the pork ribs are fantastic, the chicken was juicy, and the sides were to die for. I would highly recommend this place and Darien and his team are easy and fun to work with.

Online order of brisket. 60-65% was fat and the small portion of meat that was left was from a bad part. We were so disappointed and called but no one answered. We left a message for a return call but this didn t happen. We left a messages on Instagram with pictures of all the fatty part and high % of the portion but no answer at all. We will not return as customers

My wife and I tried this for the first time and were blown away. You can smell the smoked BBQ from a block away lol! Everything is so juicy and flavorful. Highly recommend the burnt ends, sausage, potato salad, and corn bread. Heads up they do tend to run out of food closer to the end of the day so arrive around afternoon to have the best selection available. Wheelchair accessibility: Its all on one level, entry door is decently wide, and there is a ramp to get in.

BH catered a +200 event for us this past weekend and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by all - it was delivered on time with care to keep it all very hot. Great experience, would recommend for big group catering in addition to stopping in to get a meal for yourself or your smaller group/family.

We ordered the Pitmasters combo. Everything was good except the pork ribs. The Brisket was really good, never had it before, very tender not dry. They were out of chicken but gave us wings instead. Didnt like the wings either. The potato salad was good, and the Mac n cheese was good. Baked beans were mid as well as the coleslaw. The corn bread was crumbly, sweet not dessert sweet eith little corn pieces - my family liked it, I didnt not. Thought we d try this spot tonight finally as it s highly rated and close to home. We were not disappointed! I didn t have high expectations. Plenty of seating at the front of the restaurant which is good to know for next time. We ordered the Family meal, upsized to the Mac & cheese instead of the potatoe salad. Everything was delicious. I don t usually like beans but they were good and I had seconds. I don t love cornbread and it was yummy! I m not a fan of Pablano peppers but I enjoyed the coleslaw. As you can tell I had no motivation in coming to try this place lol The girl taking my order and cashing me out was excellent. I m leaving this review based on my interactions with her firstly and secondly for the food. She was warm and friendly. Proactively made recommendations and suggestions. Offered me a free sampling on the peach cobbler which was amazing so I had to get an order of that also. She offered me the cornbread on the house which was a kind touch and not often seen these days. I wouldn t have ordered the cornbread otherwise and glad I got to try it. Her customer service left a great impression. My husband absolutely loved everything. He s a bbq guy and had no complaints.

Visited for an early dinner and thought the food was great! We sampled The Big D Sandwich with coleslaw, brisket and sausage; the side mac and cheese; banana pudding; and the peach cobbler. All were delicious and the right portions. Looking forward to revisiting. The only challenge was the design of the bathrooms - stalls are way too small and worth redesigning for a better experience.

Very good and quality food. The beef brisket tasted really good and the smoked chicken wings were the best chicken wings I ve ever had so far. Fries could have been better. Overall the experience was really great. Would recommend the smokehouse to everyone.

You absolutely must go to this place! The food is beyond incredible. I ordered the family platter and a couple of extra items for my husband and me, and it could easily satisfy three people. The ribs are so tender that the juices practically burst out when you squeeze them. The beans and everything else on the menu just heavenly! Oh the peach cobbler is delicious! The portion sizes are generous for the price we paid. On top of that, the customer service was top-notch. After a night out at a party or club, this food would hit the spot like nothing else. Were planning to visit this place again for some mouthwatering southern BBQ.

The food at this place is really really good. The beef brisket is very tasty. However, the price is on the more expensive side while the portion is very small. You would definitely need to spend at least $40 to be somewhat full. I think the place should improve their portion size so that customers would get a better experience!

I always saw this place on my commutes and finally bit the bullet to try it out, and for me the results are a bit mixed In terms of the smokiness, this place got it and I love that, the brisket was nice and tender with great flavour. The chicken definitely smelled like it lived in the smoker from birth to death, which also might explain why it tasted so dry In terms of sides, the mac n cheese was nothing spectacular, but there wasnt anything real bad about it either, just a real standard fare. The cornbread was pretty decent and exactly what youd expect as well - sweet and buttery with a nice crumble

I ordered 1 lb. brisket, 1/2 lb pork belly, large beans, jalapeno poppers and was disappointed. At least 70% of the brisket was fat. I got most of the meat from the small cuts. Ive had way better brisket at so many other places. I couldnt finish it, i tried but all that fat made me feel sick. I usually get jalapeno poppers for my daughter, but she doesnt eat bacon. It didnt say that in the menu. They had other items on chalkboard menu on wall, like the mushroom brisket, burnt ends and cornbread that they were out of, but they couldve wiped it off the chalkboard.. The beans taste like the one you get from a can, nothing special. They need better sides, what do you eat with all that meat. They dont even have fries... This place was a waste of time and money. Dont bother going here.

Amazing Amal was super accommodating to our needs. He changed his gloves knives and cutting board when my friend told him she does not eat pork for religious reasons. The restaurant is very clean all of the staff are very helpful and the food was great!! Definitely recommended it.

Our kids Hockey team, Ted Reeve Thunder U11A had a Lunch reservation here after practice. 3 platters fed all parents and kids. The FOOD: OMG! so delicious! So flavorful, meat was succulent, juicy cooked to perfection! Thank you to the pit master! The potato salad was so good. The beans!!!! Lovely! Coslaw was so fresh! The owner was so sweet, kind and generous. We are all very thankful and will be back for more!

I recently visited Beach Hill Smokehouse at Gerrard East, a restaurant that offers authentic Texas BBQ in Toronto. I was very impressed by their brisket, which was tender, juicy, and flavorful. It was cooked to perfection, with a nice crust and a smoky aroma. It was one of the best briskets I ever had, and I have tried many. I enjoyed every bite of it, and I could not get enough of it. The brisket was the highlight of my meal, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves BBQ. I also appreciated the friendly service and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. I had a wonderful time at Beach Hill Smokehouse, and I look forward to going back again.

This place is no joke. They are serious about meat. Loved everything I had there. So far my favorite is the brisket and the sausages. Did not try the beef ribs yet, I will next time I visit. Stay tuned. Bon apetit.

Myself, my wife and her sister decided to try this place out. We had seen good things about this place and have been looking for a good replacement for Adamsons BBQ after they closed. Unfortunately, that was not what we found. The place itself is not hard to find right on the corner of Main St. and Gerrard St East. and is a nice indoor take on an outdoor Texas BBQ joint. The place has nice picnic tables set up with lots of paper towels to clean up with. The staff was nice and helpful and very friendly and made you feel welcome. Let me start with the good things about the food. The sausage was good and the flavor and cook on it was great. The BBQ sauce was great as well and had a great little kick on the back end . The way spice should be done. Unfortunately the rest of the food was a mixed bag. The brisket was cooked ok, the fat content made most of it uneatable. Out of 1lb brisket, maybe was something that could be eaten. I mean we all expected some fat in the brisket, as there should be some, as it s what adds great flavor to the meat. But in most pieces, the fat content was almost 50% of the slices. It was too bad, as what we were able to eat was good. The chicken was a big disappointment. The chicken had little flavor and felt overcooked in parts and under in others . Even the skin had little flavor. We had a hard time telling if the chicken was BBQ and not just oven cooked, because it definitely did look or taste like BBQ. The sides were also a big miss. We got the Mac & Cheese and the Peach Cobbler and Cornbread, all of which were lacking. The mac & cheese was mushy and lacking any real flavor. We all agreed it needed some pepper or other spice to give it some kind of taste. The cobbler was not what I would call a cobbler. It was a mush of dough and peaches, with a little bit of sweetness. The real miss was the cornbread, It was gross to be honest. It had full pieces of corn in it, that made the texture feel off and the flavor just bad. My wifes sister, who is a big fan of cornbread, said it almost made her sick to her stomach. We were so excited to try this place and it was a huge disappointment. I hate leaving bad reviews, as I know how hard restaurant owners and workers work to try to give their customers a good product, but in this case they missed the mark. If you are looking for a great BBQ place .. Don t eat here. Wheelchair accessibility: You could defiantly get a wheelchair in the door, but the is no real place at the tables to accommodate a wheelchair. Bathrooms are also not accessible, as they require a step up to enter them. A person with walker may also find staying here to eat difficult.

Writing this review after food was demolished so no pictures. Fantastic bbq. Brisket was a favourite as well as potato salad side. Greeted by Darien very upbeat and a pleasure to learn some of the history of his start up. If you get a chance you have to order the family cookout. Serves 4-5 ENJOY

Tried their mushroom brisket that they are doing for Veganuary. Please add this to the menu permanently! (For the non meat eaters of the family) The sides are fresh and tasty and just delicious.

Excellent smokehouse thats on par with Cherry Street BBQ. Brisket and brisket burnt ends was the best Ive had. The ribs and sausage was very good but better at Cherry Street. Corn bread and potato salad was very good and an excellent side. Mac and cheese was meh.

The food is good but the portions to the price is awful. It s expensive for what you get. Not a good bang for your buck. 3 ribs, 1 sausage and 4-5 med slices of brisket and one small corn bread was $45 before tax and this was take out. Something wrong being still hungry after spending that amount. Too bad cuz the food was Smokey yummy.

Having eyed this place on Instagram for over a year, the anticipation was well worth it! The Texan-style BBQ here is unparalleled in Toronto. The briskets tenderness and the perfect level of pepper and spice lived up to the hype. The pork skin and ribs were downright amazing. The chili, beans, and coleslaw were delightful additions. My only qualm was the limited beer selection; it could use a bit more variety. Nevertheless, this wont stop me from returning for the fantastic flavors this spot offers. A must-try for any BBQ aficionado!

Amazing food!!

Went in on Superbowl Sunday (In retrospect bad idea since they were very busy and a number of items were sold out) but boy were we impressed. Love that they give you BBQ sauce on the side so you can really taste the meat. Darien and his team really know what theyre doing! Once you enter you can smell the flavor, we had the sausage and brisket and both were incredible. Cant wait to come back and try the chicken and the ribs. They mentioned a Richmond Hill location soon and we cant wait.

The sausages and brisket were delicious, and the poblano coleslaw was a perfect complement to the meal. Next time we ll come earlier for the smoked chicken !

Oh my goodness this place is just Fanfriggingtastic. The food is just great and so is the crew that work there. Their chicken wings on sat amd sunday are freaking amazing, best wings ive ever had. Shh dont tell mom its a wee bit pricey but worth every nickel. I promise you will not be disappointed Hope you go, and i know youll enjoy

I have been to Texas, so I can say this place can pass as authentic to me. I like their online ordering system that lets me guarantee beef ribs, as those can be hard to find. The staff and atmosphere were also great. Unfortunately, their brisket was a little disappointing across all 3 visits Ive had compared to the high expectations. Its not bad at all, but just not great. I highly recommend the beef ribs instead, which are great.

This place was highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. We got the family cookout combo plus a side order or pork belly for lunch. Everything tasted so juicy and flavorful. Service was top-notch, and everyone was super friendly. This place is a gem and you must try.

The food is really small. They had no side dishes. I could just get coleslaw and it had cilantro in it. It tasted disgusting. I never heard of cilantro in coleslaw, so I didnt ask. Why would you put cilantro in it? Thats absolutely horrendous and unintuitive. I couldnt have imagined that there is such thing. There is just counter service, no table service. Beside of the disgusting coleslaw the food tasted good, but its a very tiny portion for the price. No side dishes were available when I was there (not even fries or mashed potatoes???) and the cilantro is just disgusting. Its not a nice place to sit in, Id recommend you for take out, so you can have a side dish and a nice atmosphere and dont have to deal with the lady in the front.

Best bbq in the city! Been going to Beach Hill throughout the years and Im always impressed by the quality and tastiness of their meats. My favourite is the burnt ends, which has a sweet smoky taste to them. But other offerings are great too, from the really tender brisket, to the glistening pork belly, the creamy potato salad, and a peach cobbler that grandma would approve. If youre in the mood for a no-frills-all-thrills texas bbq, Beach Hill is then place to go.

Very good place. Had a sample of their pork belly which was very moist and filled with flavour. The brisket would be comparable as well. Just as juicy and smokey. Beans and the banana pudding was great. Im pretty sure at this point everything Ive eaten right now I have no bad things to say. Service was unreal. The owner stopped by and welcomed everyone with hospitality. Will be back for sure.

Beautiful rustic wood trim throughout the restaurant. If you dont like smoked meat dont eat here. Pulled pork is over powered with the smoke flavour and sickening after wards. Brisket also overpowered with smoke flavour. Parking: Parking isnt available on the street. Try the community center across the street

I was soooooooo disappointed I went to the closest location 40min drive away.. didnt have the full menu.. drove to the next location had the full menu another 50min drive and I felt like I was lied too because the ribs was not like the advertised video.. the ribs had so little meat nothing like the video which Im sure was beef ribs but I got pork with less meat.. the chicken I thought was gonna have bbq sauce or something.. had no flavor..(my opinion) the brisket broke in your mouth but need more sauce it was almost tasteless.. the sausage was like any other sausage.. all for over $65.. waited till I got home to eat another 50min drive just to get that feeling you wasted so.much time for something you could have made at home and better.. staff as nice..

Beachhill has continued to be the best BBQ smokehouse spot that I have been able to try. Service is always good and almost always turns into a conversation. The meat is tender and falls off the bone. A And you will always leave smiling and smelling like you just left a cookout !

Had the Lockhart and Austin sandwiches. Amazing! Staff is always very friendly. The desserts are delicious as well. Worth a visit for sure.

Amazing food. Loved the ribs, sausages, brisket. So good. Sides were decent. Peach cobbler was delicious! I dont recommend dining in, however, if you plan on sharing food, as there are no plates available.

I was really excited about this place and have wanted to try it forever. The brisket came wrapped in butcher paper nice and juicy. But the taste just didn t do it for me. Mac and cheese wasn t anything special but was a decent meal.
