First of all, most of their 5-star reviews in Google are rigged. We went to try their food after seeing a 4.2 average rating and was shocked the moment we entered! It's not that no other customer was there, but the guy at the front desk was scrolling through his phone and didn't even notice us! Anyway, we ordered food and the server was cordial, but I could see he was struggling with English. He managed anyway. The food took about 15 mins but at first glance, we knew something was off. The biriyani looked pale and super dry, the shish kebab had a yellow glow, and naan was dying! Super thin and super dry! That would be the worst naan I've ever had in any restaurant. The biriyani had no taste, no fragrance, and felt like pre-cooked, they just heated it up. Kebab lacked any other spices, only turmeric, and was hard to swallow. Who puts so much turmeric in kebab!! Even the mango lassi tasted weird. When we notified the server about the mango lassi, he went to the manager and came back saying it's all good, just got from the fridge! I won't blame the server because clearly he was being underpaid, but the manager didn't even bother to come to our table and talk!! STAY dafaq AWAY from this place called restaurant. There are way better biriyani and kebab places on Danforth road. (Their regular tea is okay, you may try once).
Worst Food ever!! We had a lunch there with chicken tikka masala, plain naan, matar panner and biryani. The main thing is naan is extremely raw and thick from inside and totally burnt from outside. And the matar panner is without matar(peas) there is just lots of chickpeas with 2,3 panner. Just waste of money and time. we couldn't even finish half of it. We had a really bad experience out there and i recommended all of you guys please don't waste of your money.!!
Today, I ordered for the first time at Al-Mani Grill & Biryani, Alhamdulillah food was great. Shrimp biryani, chicken wings and lamb curry. After long time, we had a good meal. Loved the shrimp biryani 😋😋
I ordered the Bhuna Lamb and a Plain Naan. The naan was raw - just barely cooked, rolled out dough which made me feel sick after I had forced myself to eat it. The Bhuna Lamb turned out to be Karahi Lamb - I confirmed this fact with the server and from the receipt that they had substituted what I ordered with another similar dish. Whatever it was comprised of bones and fatty blobs with barely any meat. I am glad that I was alone while I attempted to finish the sickening concoction of tomato paste and salt filled with capsicum. It would be cruel to make someone else eat this disgusting food with me. It was honestly one of the worst places at which I have ever eaten. The restaurant's ambience was quite depressing, and I was the only customer there. I was not even offered a glass of water and had to ask the cashier for water after I finished my meal. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. Their chef does not know how to cook, and they cheat people by feeding them bones instead of the meat that they ordered.
It is a good restaurant. The food is good so is their service. They offer Indian and Bangladeshi foods only. The restaurant environment is nice and clean. It’s a good place for spending time with friends and family. Overall, a good experience and I'd recommend them. About food, I would like to add my latest experience. I have ordered a Chicken Biryani from there recently. Rice was well cooked and mixture of spices was perfect. There were only two pieces of chicken which some might think as less than their expectation as I did. Unfortunately, they do not provide any boiled egg or any drinks with the Biryani. Yes, they do provide some green chutneys which I don’t eat, so can't say much about that. Their pricing for the foods is moderate and competitive with the market.
I’ve eaten here seven times in two weeks. The food is easily among the best Indian food I’ve ever had - tandoori chicken wings are especially delicious and the saag paneer is complex and full of flavor. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is a brand new renovation. Give Al-Mani Grill a try, you won’t regret it!
We ordered the Chicken Biryani and the Chicken Seekh Kabab. They were both delicious, very flavorful. Even their sauces were tasty. Service was good as well. Will definitely visit again. Update: Visited a second time but the food wasn’t that great. Had the Chicken Biryani again and the Karahi Chicken Curry with the Garlic Naan. This time we visited in the evening so I’m not sure if it’s a different chef.

Tonight I had plain biryani rice, butter chicken, bihari kabab and naan 😋😋😋 Thursday, April 21, 2022 Vegetable biryani with chicken tikka masala...so good. 😋😋😋 Wednesday, April 13, 2022 First of all, let me explain that all of the other dates in my review start from the OLDEST review and then run chronologically to most recent. Today was the first time since COVID hit us in March 2020 that I actually had the chance to dine in, and oooh, I missed this place. (I did, however, manage a Skip the Dishes delivery a few months back, but that doesn't count.) The food is still as good as I remember, and the aroma coming from the kitchen is almost intoxicating. I had the Al-Mani Classic combo from the menu: chicken tikka, beef kebab, plain biryani and naan. Sooo good! Why did I wait so long? Wednesday, August 7, 2019: Now THIS is the kind of restaurant we've been waiting for in the Main and Danforth area! The menu is filled with a large variety of South Asian foods which should appeal to everyone! I had the lamb biryani - succulent pieces of lamb in a mountain of deliciously spiced basmati rice, topped with green chilies (at my request), cilantro and red onions, and a wonderfully cool raita on the side. I saw the outside sign go up a few weeks ago and just couldn't wait! Friendly service with a smile, clean and inviting atmosphere; some traditional music in the background is a much needed accent. Get in and try something! You'll know what I mean! Wednesday, August 14, 2019: Today is the second time I've visited this restaurant (happens to be my birthday), and again, not disappointed! Ordered the beef biryani - a treasure of tender, melt-in-your-mouth chunks of beef buried under light and fluffy, aromatic and well seasoned basmati rice cooked to perfection, accompanied by raita and tamarind sauces. And a sweet mouthful of gulab jaman to follow.....looking forward to my next visit! Saturday, August 24, 2019 Took my Bangladeshi friend (his first time at this restaurant). We shared naan, lamb karahi and 12 incredible wings served on a sizzling skillet (that's steam you see rising in the photo!). An order of plain rice followed 3 seconds after I took the photo. Every time I go, I'm more impressed than the time before. Never tried Bangladeshi/Indian style food? Then here is the place to start! Clean restaurant, table service on real plates and a 100% professional kitchen! Hats off to Iqbal, who does most of the cooking. A-one! Tuesday, October 8, 2019 Couldn't stop myself - just HAD to go back! This time, lamb rogan josh - tender chunks of lamb smothered in a rich tomato/peppers/yogurt sauce, plain biryani, and a beef seekh kabab (which arrived on a sizzling platter with red onion and lemon). AND some garlic naan to make sure I got every bit of everything from my plate. Mmm-mmm-mmm😋! Friday, November 1, 2019 Was craving some good local food and came in after work. Good choice, Thom! Chicken seekh kabab, beef seekh kabab and chili chicken tikka over plain biryani rice just hit the spot perfectly!

They are serving stale biryani that is reheated in the microwave. And this is during the middle of the day as well.
Just to note, it s a Bangladeshi biryani place, so I guess they don t use basmati rice for the biryani. It was a decent beef biryani, but the flavors are not the usual Pakistani/Indian biryani type. If you like Bangladeshi biryani, 5 stars if you don t like that style, you might want to try another restaurant.

Don t go by just seeing the reviews. It s manipulated I guess. I had Biryani and beef kebab, didn t like any of them at all. Worst taste and very less chicken in the biryani, all rice with lots of red chili powder. Beef kebab was equally bad, no taste and stretchy. Don t waste your money.

Wife and I had high hopes due to the high rating. But we were utterly disappointed. Far below home cooked meals, too. Vibe inside is poorly ventilated. Very congestive. Atmosphere wasn t good enough to eat inside, so we requested takeout. Food was below par. We thought maybe the food took so long to prepare because it was made fresh, but we think it is just reheated from earlier made or frozen stored. Certainly the chicken curry was stale and had a strange smell and taste, covered by the curry to hide it. Cooked well, but inedible due to the stale poultry. We requested Biryani to replace the regular puluo rice, but was given regular puluo rice. And the beef leg was barely edible. Not cooked through and tough. Quality of the Naan bread was poor, too. The only thing one of us liked was the Haleem.

Being a Bangladeshi myself I am saying stay away from this business. They are not here to share our culture but to scam people in the name of food with having bright lights and paid 5 star reviews. We came here to show our good side not the bad side . Don t Ruin Bangladesh s name when you charging 20$ for a platter which the service worst than with food quality both from very small corner Bangladeshi Restaurants in Bangladesh or whatsoever. I feel ashamed of whoever the owner you are . You should have never been in Canada .

I stopped buy for lunch as I was faly hungry. Upon entering the resturants, I noticed that almsot all tables were dirty, which was alread ya negative signs. But ince I was tired, I decided to have lunch. one main ourse with rice turned out tobe $26! The food served was microwaved and pverall it was a very bad indian food and got me sick.

Al-Mani a very nice restaurant on Danforth. Nice neighborhood restaurant with decent selections. My family love having their cheicken bryani also cheicken and beef kababs. There many more dishes cant list them all now. I highly recomand to visit this restaurant it is very clean and cozy. Service was superb.
The food was honestly mediocre to tasteless Let me know explain. 2 orders of biryani rice and 1 order of beef kabab that would have two kabab. What i got was Taste less yellow rice 2 orders and 2 orders of mediocre seekih kabab. Atmosphere was like comming to my backyard garden, where there was a guy lying on back streching his feet and having conversation with a best budy of his, no respect if there are customers walking in or out. Honestly not sure why the reviews are postive at all. Oh mot to mention when ordering i made my self clear regarding the order and he completely copied what i told but still was able to have the quantity wrong.

We were the first customers of the day, and I believe the chicken they served us was at least 1-2 days old and served with a simple gravy and the chicken smelled aged. The naan we ordered were flaky and burned. We chose biryani rice, and what we received was plain, flavourless rice that was turmeric or yellow food coloured Will not suggest this location.

I had a disappointing experience at this biryani place. When I walked in, I wasn t provided with a menu, despite being the only customer in the restaurant. Three employees were engrossed in their own conversation, speaking loudly and disregarding my presence as I tried to place an order. After I finally managed to order, I waited for my meal at a table for a full 15 minutes, while the staff continued chatting and laughing. Politely, I inquired about the delay, as I had commitments to attend to and needed a quick meal. Only then did two of the employees acknowledge my presence, reluctantly got up, and went to the kitchen to start preparing my meal. Upon receiving my chicken biryani, I was further disappointed. The rice tasted stale, and the chicken had a noticeably old and reheated taste. Some parts of the rice were even cold, as if they hastily microwaved it when reminded by the customer that they had an order to fulfill. Overall, it was an experience filled with neglect, a lack of customer focus, and subpar food quality. I hope this feedback can help the restaurant improve its service and food quality.

Great authentic Bangladeshi food*1 at very reasonable price*2. Service*3 is excellent. This place will do great if they keep these 3 components in check. All menu Was somewhat disappointed that we didnt get to eat what we went for, but lesson learned. I would just request owner that you put a generic message about some items may on Google, Facebook, online menu. Also delicious food. Business has to build a menu that fits and is accepted by the general population, not each individual preference.
Worst place . I got paneer makhni and naan. What I got was not paneer makhni, but rather pureeed tomatoes and onions that were just boiled ,with small pieces of paneer. No spices , or cream or butter or a tempering . Literally worse than what people could make at home. Their cook obviously doesnt know how to cook these dishes. They shouldnt have things on the menu they cant cook. After I ate a few pieces , I found multiple pieces of paneer that had mold on it very clearly . I asked them to take the dish back and just pack up the rest of the naan . They first tried to charge me full price for everything , even though they served me moldy food that I didnt even eat half of . Then when I protested after a long discussion gave me 3 dollars off my bill. What a joke . They need to fire their cook and management. Worst food experience I have had in my life. Edit#1 : I threw up about an hour or so later and have a stomach ache.

Ate there tonight and it was delicious. Had the veggie platter, and the paneer tikka masala was the highlight. Also the paneer with spinach and green peas! I also recommend trying their mango lassi. Very flavourful food, and served with lots of care.

Very bad experience. Ordered Karahi Beef; half of tandoori chicken, and two garlic naans. I couldnt see Curry beef anywhere on the menu. Maybe that shouldve been the giveaway. I even spoke with them about Curry Beef in PARTICULAR; for over 10 min. I discussed this with him. Im assured this is the BEEF dish I should order. Order is placed; Ordered Karahi Beef; half of tandoori chicken, and the two garlic naans Waited for 20 minutes. Took the packaged meal home. I dig into the sauce covered, beef, with some naan. I immediately hit bone. First thoughts didnt even occur to me that this isnt even BEEF. The ordered beef dish is chicken; VERY disappointing! Im hungry, so I take a some of the chicken I already have caught up in the naan and try the food anyway, Under-cooked chicken. Highly disappointing. Ill be honest with you; I wouldve even eaten the wrong served dish, because I was so hungry, if it had actually been any good. I phoned the place; and the guy says the next time I come to his place, hell make me my dish for free. I replied I didnt get what I ordered, but youre suggesting I eat what youve WRONGLY packaged here and come back another day? I would like the ordered beef dish. He replies that I can come by right away, as hes preparing the beef dish now. I hang up and get ready to pack up this order to drive back to this place. I get a phone call, asking if Im coming by? I said , I ordered BEEF. and yes Im coming back. I get back to this place. Same thing happens again. I wait. The prepared beef dish is under cooked; as if they just want me gone as quickly as possible. Then there are bones in it. Four large chunks of bones are still there for me to return to his place so he can SEE them for himself on what hes served his customer. The beef is not tender at all; Ive never had issues with breaking up the beef with a touch of the naan in the past. This was horribly prepared. Ive ordered this dish far too many times to count, and there has NEVER been any bones for me to EVEN think about when I dive in with the naans. NEVER EVER! The tandoori chicken was horrible. Again, this is a dish Im FAR too familiar with the number of times I devoured whole tandoori chickens, for ANYONE to tell me what it should taste like! You would think they would make the beef dish, I just came back for, with some additional care to make sure it is appealing to their customer after all this time youve already wasted for your customer. The tandoori chicken is still sitting there, if he wishes for me to return it. This is what he does give me for my inconvenience: Three gulab jamuns. Which Im afraid to even try; perhaps he wishes them back for his next disappointed customer? Horrible restaurant. Very disappointed FIRST time customer. I can provide you with the number of a restaurant for your in-house cook to learn how to prepare these common Indian dishes.
Horrible service. Owner brought his kids to work and they were sick. Coughing and sneezing on cutlery that were given to customers. Kids were playing behind the cash counter. Owner did not respond when bell was rung and we had to send his kids to the back to get service. Unorganized and unsanitary environment. Will NOT go back. A one star is being generous.

One of the best chicken biriyani in town. Summing up it with great service by the owner himself made the experience wholesome.
I went to buy biryani at 1030pm, so it happened to take 20 mins to give my order and 3 people working, one guy in call and other guy using phone and 3rd person moving around. If you guys are not interested in serving customers you should better get a -good staff. Last thing - Eventually after debate between those guys one person heated my food in microwave, sneezed on my order (you need to wear mask Basically it s a food place horrendous service never ever coming here and highly recommend not others to atleast try here. I took my time to review this guys, you understand my frustration levels.
PS Updated review : I had recently picked up chicken and beef seekh with garlic naan Well the Seekh was on point however , their garlic nan wasn t very relevant to garlic nan in real . It looked like few garlic pieces mistakenly fell into the nan. No very impressive, hence change in ratings! The place has a lot to offer for halal guys and people with good spicy taste of food! It serves halal meat and chicken and everything ! I have tried the chicken skewers and the beef they both taste awesome! The mutton biryani and chicken biryani is finger licking good!!!

HORRIBLE Experience. The restaurant claims they make Indian food but they dont know how to do it. We ordered the Veg Thali and the food was so bad that we could not even take one bite of the Paneer or Dal we ordered. We were a group of four and none of us liked it. When we brought this to the notice of the staff, they got rude and demanded full money even when we had only eaten a single bite and complained immediately. They argued with us with half an hour and in the end we paid them half the money and left hungry. It was a horrific experience and would not want anyone to go through it. Please dont go here if you are looking to eat Indian food.

Great restaurant to have dinner. Mr. Shamim, owner is an excellent host. We had Chilli Chicken Tikka, Chicken kabab n Karahi Lamb. All are delicious but the lamb was awesome. I will definitely go this restaurant again.
We ordered deals 1 from the menu and it was sufficient for a couple with 1 kid. Also the taste of the food was very good.

We had ordered a chicken biryani and a chicken tandoori and it tasted really delicious . The service is great. End your meal with a mango lassi and a gulab jamun.

Their Mutton Biryani and Chicken/Mutton Karai is awesome. Only 4 stars because their whole chicken Tandoori was awful. Tandoori wasnt properly cooked, and it felt like a boiled chicken instead of grilled chicken. Recommend their Mutton biryani and Karahi but not the other items.

Who on this planet would eat the vegetable biryani here? Dare not!!!! Some big chunk of vegs ,chilli, soaked rice and no taste.... I wonder do they not taste it before selling them???? Either make it good or dont attempt ! After reading my review, plz act on this. Dont continue making the same old mistake again!

CONS : FOUND SMALL SHREDS OF BONES INSIDE SHEEKH KABOB AND CHICKEN TIKKA (Boneless Dish) You get what you pay for. I ordered 2 plain Naan (10/10) Lamb biryani (5/10) Chicken tikka (6/10) Chicken sheek kabob (4/10) it was cold.
Beware, steer clear of this place. I placed a online order for over $64.00 of food (including a 20% tip). The restaurant is located less than a five minute drive from my door; almost 2 hours later and still no food. I called and they said 10 minutes more. 15 minutes later I called back and cancelled the order. They said fine, and I received an online notification that all of the items had been removed from my order. The next day I found that I was charged the full $64.oo and refunded only 0.56 cents back! I placed 4 separate calls on 3 separate days to straighten this out and have been given the run around. I received no food at all and had my money stolen from me. The charge has been disputed via my credit card provider and is now under investigation. We love supporting local restaurants in our neighbourhood, and its too bad we had such an awful experience here. *Update* regarding the owners response, no screenshot was ever emailed to me and no refund aside from the 56 cents I spoke about above. I have attached a screenshot from my banking institution. Be careful with this place
Stay away. If there was a way to give less than one star, I would. Worst service anywhere in a very long time. Ordered at 6:27pm on a Sunday; nothing received by 7:45pm (delivery time that was indicated on their website), called to inquire and they could not give me a time when it would arrive. Order did not arrive until 8:20 pm (I live less than 5 minutes away, their website indicated it left restaurant at 8:09pm). Butter chicken had only 6 pieces. Beef korma was gristly and had bones. Promised refund and did not receive it. When I called to inquire, they changed their minds about the refund. TERRIBLE customer service.
Bets biryani in danforth
Ordered online from Al-Mani for delivery and they completely forgot about my order. When I called to demand a refund, the restaurant said they would look into it. Five days later, and still no refund, I called back only to be told that they cant process a refund. I had to call my credit card company to have my payment refunded as a fraudulent charge. Wont order from here again, as there are plenty of other good Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants nearby.
