1801 Gerrard St E, Toronto, ON M4L 2B4, Canada
This airy hangout offers morning coffee & pastries, sandwiches at lunch & sharing plates for dinner.
This was a random Google find for brunch not too far off the Danforth. I'm so glad we did find it because this place did not disappoint. The restaurant is cute and clean. Perfect for a nice coffee and baked good treat or brunch/lunch. The smoked salmon is a MUST HAVE and it's made in house. The brunch portion was delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the fingerling potatoes texture had a nice slight crisp on the outside but soft on the inside and nicely seasoned. The coffee and latte were hot and fresh. The service was exceptional....Amanda B was super attentive and approachable. She was welcoming from start to finish. We later discovered we had a Scarborough connection....small world lol We will back again soon!!!! I
The perfect Toronto brunch spot. Everything was so fresh. Peameal bacon made in house. To die for French stick... again, incredibly fresh. A really cute place. You can tell the staff loves working here. Will be back.
Stopped by the Bodega for lunch , it is an absolute hidden gem on Gerard west of Woodbine . Its interior is well done, homely setting, compact cozy place with a good patio. Menu has good choices for breakfast and light lunch . It’s mostly packed with local residents who are regulars. We ordered mimosas and a Hot Fried Chicken Sammy as well as the Smoked Salmon Sandwich, both were delicious, prepared excellently and good portions. The fingerling potatoes are crispy in the outside and soft inside. Staff are friendly, welcoming and with smiles
Edit: My daughter and I dropped in today to try again. Because I didn’t make a reservation there was a 20 minute wait, which we didn’t mind, and is a testament to their popularity. We both had the BBQ peameal sandwich with fingerling potatoes, and it was delicious. I’m not sure how a potato can be made to taste that good. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and attentive, and I can honestly say that my opinion of Bodega Henriette has changed for the better. As promised, a gift card in my name was left for me, but I chose to pay for the meal because we thoroughly ourselves, and I wanted to be able to update the review without appearing to be incentivized. It’s a really lovely place I would be happy to return to, and you will too. Original: This is a tough one because it was such a mix of highs and lows. Highs: the food is excellent, and given the cost of food right now, priced reasonably. The atmosphere is cute and welcoming, and the space is artfully decorated. The lows: the food was barely lukewarm when it arrived, and cold before we both got to the end of our meals. It’s a bustling place, but expecting warm food shouldn’t be too much to ask. The person who checked us in, and the food runner, were friendly and warm. Our server however was inattentive, and did not seem to want to be there. Once our order was taken, we did not speak to our server again until I had to stop her to ask for the bill. No check-in about the food, no offer to have another coffee (or anything else). It’s busy, and it’s Sunday, but like getting warm food, checking on customers should be a given, no? Another low: the bathrooms: they were really dirty. The sink had some sort of grime/dirt all over, and the garbage bin was overflowing onto the floor. The paper towel dispenser had fallen off the all at some point (the holes where it used to hang were evident above the sink, and perhaps the source of the dirt in the basin), and a roll of brown, wet paper towel, was placed on top of the dispenser, which was sitting on the floor. It’s possible it fell off that morning, and understandably there wouldn’t be time to fix it, but this was my experience today. Also, no hook. Can’t hang a coat or bag, which is unusual for a bathroom. Our service was bad enough that we won’t return, but the food (minus the temperature) and space (minus the bathrooms), were great. Edit: I heard back from the restaurant, and they very graciously apologized, and offered me a gift certificate for breakfast and coffee to try them again. After going, I’ll update my review. A+ response, and entirely unanticipated. Thanks.
My new favourite brunch spot hands down. I’ve been here multiple times since. It’s located in a great area as well. The food is simply amazing with delicious flavours and pairings.
Came here with friends for a weekend get together. Cute place in the middle of east side of Toronto, on a main street that is on a TTC streetcar route. Atmosphere: cozy cafe eitt open patio that looks out onto a busy street. Perfect for people watching. Hard to get seats for more than four. Will require reservations on a weekend. Food served on cute old porcelain plates similar to ones your grandma used to serve you with. Service: Good, server was prompt, informed, came when needed. Had the iced tea: not sweetened, black tea, nice for a hot day. Had the tofu scramble on a curry chickpea waffle with a creamy drizzle? that was gluten free. Was not a fan of the creamy drizzle, it had little flavour and reminded me of mayo. Tofu was placed on the waffle which made the waffle a little soggy. Waffle was savoury and may need a little more flavour. Would have appreciated separating the scramble from the waffle since there were different tastes and textures. Went home with a stuffed cookie, which was heavy but tasty and not too sweet, best part of brunch. Food mate had the smoked salmon scramble, fingerling potatoes looked well cooked. Cost: $19-$20. Overall: nice ambiance, cozy feel, will try the other options next time.
Everything we Tried at Bodega Henriette In this charming 30-seat café in the Upper Beaches, you're greeted by large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, making Bodega Henriette instantly feel like home. The brunch menu is short yet comforting and perfect. The food is fresh, high-quality, and served in generous portions. Their baked goods are outstanding; everything we tried was delicious. Bodega Henriette is the kind of place every neighborhood should have. 🏷️ $$ 🎥 @melissa_foodie.fun
Such lovely cute spot on the East End. I met two of my friends for brunch, on a Saturday, it wasn’t too busy, we were seated on the patio. Our server and the bartender were attentive, friendly and helpful, although a few times we had to get the server’s attention, service was still very nice. My eggs Benedict with salmon were great, I love the fact the salmon was thick and not very thin like many restaurants, my friends were also very happy with their meals. Definitely worth to try it if you are on the east end.
It is a magical gem located in Beach Hill. You feel like you are dining in someones home.
Initially, they took us in for a walk-in with an estimated wait time of an hour. After 45 minutes, they came back and said it d be another hour. They also suggested take-out as a quick alternative, but I still had to wait 30 minutes for a premade felafal sandwich. Service was terrible, and the staff was rude.
Really liked the place. Great food, very cozy and warm. Feels personal and pleasant. Highly recommend.
Great food. Fresh juices.
Had the BEST chai latte and then found a great wine to take home. And the Staff was super friendly
Amazing and beautiful place very friendly lady working there. Tasty patisseries and awesome coffee
The best breakfast place in the East end. Amazing for kids. Long list of gluten free options.
Came across this place for breakfast and I must say this was the best breakfast spot I have ever come across in the GTA. Worth the travel if you are in the west end, make a reservation because this place is busy. AMAZING SERVICE, COFFEE, GRAPEFRUIT JUICE
Great food! Loved the Benedict
Amazing atmosphere, food and service! Such an east end gem, we ll definitely be coming back! The decor inside is soooo nice and I loved the music they were playing too. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan options! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp
Best brunch I ve had in ages by far. French toast and the hot fried chicken sammy were excellent. Would definitely come back
Met my friend here and we loved it. Food was amazing, although, I wished they have a bigger breakfast menu. The french toast was so good! Def try that, I had the salad with salmon and it did not disappoint.
Food is delicious, atmosphere is great!
Food was very good! Service was extremely prompt!
2.5/5 Meh, Average brunch spot. Tried bits of each meal and shared amongst our group. Overall we thought everything was alright, not as spectacular as people in the reviews made it seem. At least the prices were somewhat fair. - The dish we would like to specify more on is the sweet french toast. It s on a different style of bread, which was okay in some parts but the rest would be either rubbery & hard or some parts were just not even made with egg- it tasted like we were just eating raw cold bread with whipped cream and maple syrup could make better at home. Our lattes were honestly disgusting as well. Not sure if the milk had been sitting on the counter, but it hurt our stomachs and the taste is just burnt and bland. - Service wise- mediocre. Bland expressions unless they know you. No thank you s or welcomes for us and waited too long for everything. - Overall would not go back respectfully. There s much better spots on the Danforth and further up downtown if you re willing to travel.
My friends and I have gotten the chance to have brunch in this adorable, homey restaurant a handful of times, and the food was always fantastic! The fingerling potatoes are so addicting and perfectly crunchy. I personally love getting the smoked salmon scramble, the creme fraiche & fried capers on the scramble is a great touch
Came here in family for my wife s birthday and we absolutely loved it. Great food, atmosphere and lovely staff. This is our new favourite brunch spot in Toronto :)
Great meal quaint lunch spot...fruendly staff
Wow, this breakfast spot was incredible! The servers were really friendly, and the atmosphere was so calming. The food was exceptionally delicious, with fluffy eggs, and everything was cooked to perfection. Sorry couldn t add photo. I ate everything so fast
Great food, amazing service! Super impressed and very thankful they take reservations. Will definitely be back!
Food was absolutely delicious; I loved my chicken sandwich, and the fingerlings were possibly the best potatoes I ve ever eaten. The ambience is comfortable and beautiful, filled with natural light and surrounded by lush indoor greenery, the music playlist a series of non-stop bangers, and the service was swift, attentive, and friendly. An absolute must visit venue.
Overpriced and overrated.
Eggs benny were to die for
Parking: I ordered the eggs Benedict. They were fantastic. I also ordered the bodega coffee with booze and whip cream. It was worth every penny. I m definitely coming back and this time I m gonna bring my family and friends. Food
We just had brunch here today, and it was terrific. The food was delicious, staff was polite and attentive. The French Toast was the best weve ever had, and the Eggs Benedict was delicious. We will definitely be going back.
I went there for takeout today and we got the Smoked Salmon and Peameal Bacon sandwiches. Both sandwiches were delicious. The fingerling potatoes are fantastic. I will definitely be returning.
I recently visited this restaurant and had quite a disappointing experience. To start, the service was extremely slow; it took about 20 minutes just to be waited on. The server only came to our table once during the meal, and when we asked for the bill, she rolled her eyes and took around 15 minutes to bring it. At one point, the waiter had to retake our order and never apologized for the slow service. The bathroom was another issue very small, with a sink that caused a lot of water to spill onto the floor. This made it an uncomfortable space to use. The food itself was okay, neither bad nor outstanding, but it wasnt good enough to make up for the poor service. We also specifically asked for an indoor table when booking, but upon arrival, we were given an outdoor table. It seemed like the party before us came after the 10-minute hold time, but after already waiting around an hour, we didnt want to wait any longer. Overall, the experience was quite disappointing, and I doubt Ill be returning anytime soon.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! The best brunch in Toronto and amazing staff, will definitely be back again!
So thrilled we were able to score a last-minute reservation for brunch. Super-cute, chill, neighbourhood spot, with excellent house-made bakery items, coffee drinks and a fantastic weekend brunch. No notes possible for the Tofu Scramble wow! Vegetarian options: Tofu Scramble was amazing, and vegan and gluten-free!
Absolutely delicious food! Cute & cozy little place.
Cute little brunch spot, I had the French toast which was really nice and had a unique crispiness to it. The potatoes are AMAZING ! I will definitely be back, the atmosphere is cool because it s a residential neighborhood with the restaurant on the corner
Amazing pastries and coffees. Nice little patio too.
You ll notice in the reviews that food is always rated very highly, and it s good. No qualms about that. The service, however leaves much to be desired. We had an older blond woman wait on us, and she was very nice and professional until it came time to pay the bill. We were a fourtop, two couples, which she correctly divined. But she dropped the machine in the middle of the table and said that the charge was for two of us, gestured quickly to all of us, and then left. There was no itemized receipt for us to divine which couple it was for. When we asked for a receipt, she left again without a comment, and came back with a lot of attitude when we tried to explain our confusion. We ended up paying for each other because she didn t clarify until the first transaction was done. Haven t seen a demeanour change so quickly in a while, so I guess you can bill the experience as brunch and a bit of a show. If consistently professional and pleasant service isn t high on your list of dining priorities, then this place will be fine for you
Food is bad, bacon is overcooked, too dried toast is fair, service is bad but environment is nice. The price is not cheap tho.Won t try it again
Terrible customer service. Had a waitress rushing me to leave, she came up three times and asked me to pay. I d only been there 20 minutes and it wasn t busy! I also hadn t even finished my coffee Never experienced this anywhere before, and it s a shame because it s a beautiful looking café
Vegetarian options: Had a delicious tofu scramble! Food
This place is pretty magical. If you like butter you will love the food at this place. The servers are lovely. Few notes on the weekends you need a reservation 98% of the time. Kids are welcome but they dont have room for your stroller, its very cozy there just isnt room. So be prepared to leave it outside if you bring one. They have booster seats and our baby loves everything they have. Overall we live in the area and always try to have breakfast here first.
We were in the neighbourhood one rainy Saturday morning and looking for a place to stop and have some breakfast/brunch. After being told we would need to wait 30 mins for a table, the waitress told us we would have to leave the premises and couldn t wait for our table inside. We had a two year old toddler with us, and they basically threw us out in the rain.
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! They say money cant buy happiness, but how could that be true when bakeries and restaurants exist? Bodega Henriettes weekend special bread pudding instantly caught my eye for its beautiful golden brown appearance and colourful accent of tartness from the strawberries, cherries and blueberries that have turned a bit jammy. Each bite is a contrast of a crispy puff pastry exterior with a fluffy bready inside, and of course I had to get a cinnamon bun and cookie to complete the three course dessert meal after my lunch.
This is such a fantastic little neighborhood restaurant that I almost dont want to give it a good review so I can always get a table when I want one. We love this place. Friendly and comfortable, with wonderful wait staff, we come back again and again. Every dish is excellent, the wines are well priced and the cocktails are exquisite. Cant recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Favourite east end brunch by far, with a cute and cozy neighbourhood vibe. Our waitress recommended the Rapini Sandwich and it was so delicious. The French Toast was amazing as well.
Arrived as a walk-in here with my husband this morning. First of all, their instructions on where to wait to be seated is super unclear as there s a board outside where it s written to go to the counter for walk-in, coffee/tea or pick up but there s a podium with the sign wait to be seated when you try to enter. After waiting there for a few mins, I went in to see someone at the counter. I saw a blonde server to whom I politely asked if this is where I ask for a table. She literally barked back at me saying I m busy can t you see, wait outside To say I was appalled is an understatement. Never in my life have I experienced this kind of behavior and I ve been living in New York for a majority of my life, the so-called rudest city of all time. Unfortunately, I didn t read the reviews before going there, and now I see many people have faced this kind of behavior from this place. I don t feel bad at all for not getting to try the food, which I heard good things about. I absolutely do not want to waste my money on a business that does not value their patrons as humans. I definitely won t be coming back and will also be telling my friends and family to stay away from Bodega Henriette.
Great patio and food is pretty good too.
Bodega Henriette is my favourite little cozy corner in the East End. The potatoes are heavenly and pretty much everything on their limited menu is high-quality and super flavorful. Definitely try the Savoury French Toast (its actually sweet and savoury both). Tofu scramble and Hot Fried chicken sandwich are delicious as well.
We stopped in for Saturday brunch and absolutely loved it. Without a reservation we were informed of a 40min wait at around 1:30pm so we got coffees to go and walked around the neighbourhood. The lattes were great (one London fog and one salted caramel). We were seated at a lovely table that felt really spacious for how small the restaurant is. We ordered peameal eggs Benedict and the savoury French toast and were blown away. This was one of the best brunches we ve had in Toronto. We will definitely be back
Some of the best brunch in Toronto. Such a cute plant filled atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, DELICIOUS fresh food. Perfect proportions too, and great coffee to boot!
Came here twice now for brunch and food is absolutely fantastic. Menu is elevated brunch foods and quite large sizes. Atmosphere is more family style, lots of families with kids but note: they are not stroller friendly inside.
Came for a quick bite randomly, fell in love! Been back many times since, service - food - drinks - all top notch.
Very busy (be prepared to wait) but understandably so and worth it! The French Toast with Pork Belly was probably the best Ive ever had. A nice chewy texture which is a nice difference to ur average french toast that can be mushy. Huge portions too! Service was stellar with the cutest decor/design Ive seen
I waited 15 minutes to be seated and the servers were serving walk ins who came after me instead of seating me and my partner there were multiple seats outside available, so I went out to seat myself, which was 4 tables available and she passive aggressively told me wait until your seated. I was light headed and just needed to sit and I left because very poor attitude. Usually people get seated first especially if it s empty seating, then they come back easily to get your order if they re attending other ones.
Great brunch spot with plenty of options on the menu from savoury to sweet and smaller portions to fuller sizes. Went with my partner on a long weekend so it was slammed, service was excellent I think they just should have been more clear about their waitlist. I got the smoked salmon scramble which was excellent. Will return!
Had a great Saturday brunch here. We loved the homemade pastries, the French Toast and Eggs Benedict.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant. Relaxed, a little crowded but everyone enjoying food, family and atmosphere.
I was rather enamored with the quirky charm of its unconventional location than the restaurant itself. Sitting in an offbeat, angular house at a street corner, its a bold move to turn this space into a dining hotspot. Stepping inside feels like entering a quaint, miniature botanical garden. Visited for weekend brunch and ordered the Eggs Benedict and Tofu Scramble & Waffles. The Eggs Benedict, served on a croissant, were quite tasty. The Tofu Scramble was intriguing, with its curry-infused tofu, though the chickpea waffle was a bit oily, but I guess thats not unusual with vegan food. The service was so-so; the staff didnt seem to care our table much. Their kitchen is downstairs by the washroom, so you could see the cooking staff when heading to the restroom. I cant quite describe it, but it gave me a somewhat depressed feeling when I saw the kitchen. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 3.5/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 4/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 2.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 3/5 OVERALL - 3.2 Vegetarian options: Tofu Scramble & Waffles
yum
The toast(regular or gluten free) is either fried or grilled. Last two breakfasts the potatoes were burnt and rather fatty. Breakfast came with no garnish (slice of orange or tomato might help). Coffee just average could use a better quality. Too expensive for quality. Dietary restrictions: They have a gluten free bread.
We found this place driving by. Got in, very tiny and cramped place. We waited to be seatted. A lady came to us and asked if we have reservation, told us that the wait time is about 45 min (although could see 2 table available). She turned her back to us and left us not even waiting for our decission. That was extremely rude. Never seen something like this especially from a mom & pop establishment.
I was ignored for a long time, until my non-black friend joined me. The waitress also refused to make eye contact with me. Would not recommend.
We tried Bodega Henriette for my Birthday Brunch. All the good reviews were absolutely correct, the food was delicious and the presentation on each plate was lovely. The restaurant itself has a bright friendly atmosphere which is very welcoming. It seemed to me that many people were regular customers or at least had been there before which says a lot. Its not a big place so reservations are recommended especially if youre going with a group. Vegetarian options: There are yummy vegetarian options Parking: We went on a Sunday so there was free street parking.
Such a hidden gem! Best Eggs Benedict! Potatoes like no other and great Flat White Coffee! The Eggs Benedict rocked with Peameal Bacon.
Got take out - live 4 minutes away - arrived before food was ready. Food items were all over the map temperature wise - like they weren t even prepared for the same meal. Tasted very good, but the portion sizes were shockingly small for the accompaniment. Only two potatoes on the side? I ended uI m guessing due to the temperature -that some things had been prepared for other meals or prepared far in adva
What a lovely gem of a bistro. Atmosphere and ambience wonderful. The peameal sandwich was impressive and creatively constructed with yummy toppings. Wow
Great food, relaxing atmosphere and delightful hosts. Easily, my favorite brunch spot.
The salmon sandwich was to die for! The potatoes changed my life, so crispy and fluffy and perfect. Christina gave phenomenal service, friendly and quick especially since it was busy. And the ambiance was phenomenal with tons of plants and some local art too! Will be back :)
I never write reviews. I was SO looking forward to visiting this cute cafe with a new mom friend and while the food was good, we did not feel welcomed by the staff upon entering. No one was happy to see us and when we were told the stroller was not welcome (which is perfectly fine) we were given no more than 5 seconds to close the door, get out of the way, and figure it out. All with a newborn in the cold weather. The takeaway is you never know what someone is going through and we really could have used patience and grace today. Also, it is important to note that the space is entirely inaccessible, including the bathroom facilities. We completely understand the space is small, but accessibility for all should be a priority.
Perfect everytime
Love Henrietta s!
Almost perfect. The Curry Beet soup was delicious. They fried potatoes perfectly crispy. I only found the smoke salmon sandwich a little lacking. Could hardly taste any of the salmon. But I will return to try other dishes for sure.
Fantastic food in a fun local hangout, really enjoy the summer patio vibes too.
You need a reservation to dine here, it gets really busy. I love the menu selections and drink menu. They have cookies and pastries to gobas well. Beautiful quaint place and staff are wonderful. Overall an amazing brunch with my daughter
Excellent food, both in flavor and presentation. Cozy atmosphere. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options available.
I love coming here for brunch with friends! The menu is short and perfect, they offer high quality food and they have the most amazing baked goods. The brunch food is impressive and comforting, everything I ve tried has been delicious. The inside of the restaurant is eclectic and pretty, including the tableware. I highly recommend making reservations and coming here for brunch!
The space is tiny so be sure to book a table in advance. The staff were friendly. My family was having lunch and we all ordered different sandwiches, however there was no option to order a side salad with our sandwiches, only fried potatoes, which were really salty. For the price, a side salad should be an option. The sandwiches were on pieces of baguette, which is a lot of bread, especially with a side of potatoes. The chicken sandwich I ordered was overcooked. It would have been more enjoyable to have a salad and a sandwich for lunch. The meals were too heavy and too salty.
Been to this local spot a few times now. Each time we go the staff are extremely welcoming and lovely. The food here is beyond incredible, would highly recommend their french toast as well as their sandwichs. The whole menue is a 10/10! Love this spot.
Extraordinary food and service. Most adorable decor. All for incredibly reasonable prices! Signed- your nearly daily regulars at this point Chris and Meghan Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly
Cute neighbourhood place with great brunch! I ll be back to try everything else on the menu.
My favourite branch in Toronto so far
Perhaps the best eggs Benny I ve had in the city, and the fingerling potatoes are an exceptional side dish (not an afterthought). Beautiful atmosphere, only downside (if it could be considered one), is that it s on the smaller side, so if you re without a reservation you ll have to wait. Plan ahead, and it ll be smooth sailing.
Having driven past Bodega Henriette countless times, we finally made reservations for brunch. What a beautiful space attended by lovely staff. The food was amazing and plentiful. Before we left, we perused the bottleshop and bakery space in the front, taking some things back home with us. We ll be back to enjoy more menu items in-house especially those beer taps & wine list! Vegetarian options: Plenty of options! Staff are aware of ingredients in all dishes to make recommendations and substitutions Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread substitution available plus GF and DF menu items already available Parking: Park along Gerrard Street East in either direction Kid-friendliness: Child seat strapped securely to a chair. Kids menu with great selection. Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately too small to accommodate a wheelchair without bumping tables and shelving. Also not sure of washroom location.
Hands down, one of the best brunches I ve ever experienced in my lifetime. I read the reviews they were great, but the food truly exceeded my expectations. Restaurant is Super cute & quaint, lovely people running the restaurant, they know their business. We will be back again and again, thank you! We had the peameal bacon sandwich 10 out of 10, smoked salmon scrambled eggs 10 out of 10, French toast, 10 out of 10! WOW!
Rude rude rude! Went in to ask about to a table and the hostess basically said We dont have tables! Then I asked if there was a wait that we could join, she said I dont know, wait outside, its first come, first serve. Who talks to paying customers like this?
Every dish served is made with love. I highly recommend this establishment and encourage you to try anything on the menu. You wont be disappointed!
Went for brunch on a warm fall day and had a beautiful meal on the patio. Went back last week and dined inside, it was just as nice. The food is great and there are some really interesting things on the menu. The chickpea waffle is a favourite! It s like a waffle version of a falafel. Both times we made reservations just in case, although it wasn t busy when we arrived.
Bodega Henriette is now one of my favourite brunch spots in the city! The food was uncomplicated and deliciously prepared. We had the baby arugula tomato eggs benedict and the smoked salmon scramble. Perfectly poached eggs sat on a tender, buttery home made croissant all lusciously draped by a classic hollandaise. I was hesitant that the dish would read heavy, however the accompanying arugula salad was dressed with a highly acidic dressing that provided peppery, tart relief. The hero of the dish were the potatoes - the crispy skin curling around a the creamy texture of the potato. The smoked salmon dish was less desirable. The texture of the eggs and salmon were too similar and the crispy capers did not provide enough of a relief. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and so welcoming! I would love to try their dinner pop ups and store front bakery in the future!
Friendly neighbourhood bistro.
Did not feel welcomed upon dining in with my colleagues. Would not recommend.
Lovely brunch spot. One of the best brunch spots in Toronto. Great food. Great vibes. Great people. What more can you ask for? Im making my way down the menu.
Quaint corner with quirky interior. Had the savory french toast, which was tasty and perfectly made. Service was decent
A lovely experience with great food. Love the vibe and service.
Great food in a tiny spot. They take reservations. Will go again.
Came here for Brunch on a Sunday! Little Cozy and Super Sweet Place. The food was really good and fresh! The service was kind and lovely and attentive. We really enjoyed coming here and definitely recommend it if you are looking for a small quaint brunch place! Thank you for having us! Parking: The parking is on the street all along the side of the street. It is not a busy area so you can find parking but might need to walk a little. We did not have too much of an issue but just as an heads up! Parking is free until 4:00PM and cannot park after 4 on the street but that is okay because the restaurant closes at 4:00PM
Everything is so good and the staff are lovely!
Charming little restaurant. I have heard great things about brunch here but have only gone for dinner. I had the squash bruscetta and branzino...SO DELICIOUS. Our waiter was also super nice and made the experience all the more better.
French toast there was great.
Unbelievably good food and service was great!
Delicious, great atmosphere and a nice place in general!
Lovely staff, great coffee and baked items and delicious food will definitely be back!
First and last ever visit here. Never even got to try the food. 2 members of staff seem to have studied the art of how to make their customers feel a positive nuisance. We were greeted with a harsh NO strollers inside. There isn t room. That s absolutely fine perfectly understandable once we saw how compact the interior is. There s a way to convey a message, though, and this wasn t it! I requested a high chair. The same member of staff delivered another curt response. We don t have high chairs. After a brief pause she continued . we have booster seats. Meanwhile son had reversed stroller outside and returned with toddler in his arms. He was just about to hand him over to me and return to close the door when a second staff member verily raced over sternly ordering CLOSE THE DOOR! and then duly pushed it to. Before he could finish his response I was just about to she retorted it s cold out there. I have never encountered such seemingly studied rudeness anywhere on my travels. It was like a slap in the face.
If you have kids , do not go to this restaurant! They are very rude to people who bring strollers in and do not accommodate to toddlers. Save yourself time and go somewhere else.
Food was amazing, and staff was super friendly. Small little boutiquie place. Would HIGHLY recommend. Will definitely be back. Would recommend making a reservation, we went mid week and it was relatively busy. Not direct parking, but lots of street parking around.
The flavours of the dishes here! The pork belly French toast is a must! The French toast and maple syrup combination go perfectly together with the tart blueberry compote. The home fries are super crispy and fluffy on the inside. Don t forget to grab some cookies from the cafe on the way out!
This neighbourhood needs more like this.
Hands down my TOP 3 Brunch places in Toronto! - (only because I m still on a journey to find something as great) Although the space is quite small, would highly recommend reservations or getting there a bit early - the food is phenomenal. I ordered the Savoury French Toast - w/ pork belly and bacon it was to die for. They also use a different type of homemade bread that s crispy on the edges but SOAK all the flavour from the syrup and flavours in between. My bf got the eggs Benedict which he adored! - so good. The service was amazing, the vibe was cozy and best part is that they have a little nook in the front where you can buy fresh baked goods ( I had the sugar cookie to go - just GET IT) You also see families and couples grabbing from the store throughout which was so cute! Experience it if you re curious - it was amazing!
Utterly disappointing-ordered smoke salmon eggs Benny-both orders of eggs and potatoes were cold to lukewarm. Cappuccino lukewarm as well. I have eaten eggs 10 000 times in my life from Egypt to Ohio. This is the first time I ve had COLD EGGS!!!!!!!! This was while place was half empty. Takes the mediocrity of Toronto brunch scene to new lows. Snotty service bordering on contemptuous. Hard pass unless you want to your money.
Such an amazing spot in the neighborhood. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. Reservations are required as its quite small in there.
The food and service was fantastic!
Brunch is amazing! Probably the best food in the upper beaches area. We love their service too!
The first thing that catches your eye is how pretty this place is. Right from the charming red door to the plans inside and the wall paintings, this is a quaint place to catch up with your friends over brunch. They have an outdoor patio but we couldnt experience it during the winter. We visited in February. Reading the reviews online we made reservation that promptly got us a seat. They have a few good options in terms of the food and options for vegetarians. A bunch of us in our party ended up ordering the smoked salmon scramble, which was decent. I personally would have preferred getting something else since I found the salmon too salty. But the potato fingerlings that came with it were bomb. Eggs in this dish were perfect but the portion wasnt filling (we all have huge appetites). In retrospect I should have ordered the savory french toast that a lot of reviews recommended. One of my friends ordered the bodega burger which looked delicious (my kinda food). Our party also ordered the vegetarian sandwich but received an omelette instead of the scrambled egg mentioned in the menu - no big deal for us but if youre particular about how your eggs are made, thats something to consider. Our party also ordered some lemonades, which came with a straw in a packaged bottle - fresh lemonade would have been nice. Washrooms are downstairs, down a very narrow staircase. One of the toilets is the size of an airplane toilet! Vegetarian options: A few options for the vegetarians in your gang
Kind service and one of the best chocolate/almond croissants I have ever had.
Fantastic service place is really cute and intimate. Portion sizes were super fair. Would recommend the chicken and waffles! Plenty of apps made up for a small wait because of the small kitchen!
Great little place. The chicken and waffles were fantastic. Our server was very friendly and made our night. Love to get back there soon. Got back last night and the food and service were equally good...and apparently I really like their chicken and waffles because I ordered them again. 1/2 price bottles of wine was a nice surprise as well. The bread pudding for dessert is a must share....too big for one! A great place!
Came here for brunch with a friend. It s a cute and cozy little restaurant with great service. I ordered the breakfast and an oat latte, both of which were good. They do take reservations which is so rare for Toronto and so convenient. The French toast seems to be a big deal here so I d probably want to try that next time!
SO GOOD! We also got the burger and shared both.
Exceptional food and service. Great local spot for any meal.
Very great intimate place to enjoy a good meal.
Have had one good experience out of the four times I ve gone. Would be lovely if they specified on their website that their kitchen has closing times (correct me if I m wrong), as this is the second time we have made the treck and they couldn t serve us. It s too bad as this place would be a great spot in the east end. Don t think I ll be giving them another chance. p.s don t order take out, they gyp ya
One of my favourite brunch spots, great service and delicious food.
I stumbled upon this place while visiting some open houses in the area. It s lovely, cozy and the food is delicious. I am glad I ended up here and would definitely go again.
The staff wasn t helpful - I could see 2 2-seater tables available, and they said no to our 2 adult 1 child party. The wait would be an hour I was told. A hint of not wanting to help, with a splash of don t-care attitude. Not going back, thanks!
Definitely will be back! Food was amazing, the staff/ owners were just the right energy to start a Sunday! Although get a reservation cause they are full! Food
It is across the street from my house and reasonably priced. Really good for when you are feeling under the weather.
Lovely staff, atmosphere & food.
Came here for the first time to take my mom out for Mother s Day. Perfect experience! We were early for our reservation so the lady needed extra time to make sure everything was set up, but noticed we had been sitting outside for a while and made sure she personally came out to bring us in when she was ready. Food was delicious and service was phenomenal! The cafe is also super cute with a lovely patio.
Greatest breakfast Ive had in a long time.
Great food and fantastic service, we will be back often!
Amazing place. Ambience, Food, Service - 5 out of 5
Little oasis in the upper beaches. Amazing service. Adorable patio and ambience. Food was DELICIOUS!!! Will definitely be back!
Second time visiting here and I left with the same positive impression as I did the first time in 2018. Very cute and cozy establishment, excellent food and good service. You need to take a reservations so plan ahead.
Stopped in for brunch. Had an absolutely lovely dining experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and made sure that we had a memorable meal. I ordered the grilled rapini sandwich with fingerlings. It was sensational. Will definitely return in the future. Thank you!
Love everything about this place. The food, the people, the surroundings. Absolute gem in the area!
Loved this place beautiful and super friendly! Food was amazing and grabbed some treats from bakery blew me away !
A delicious intimate family wedding brunch on the patio made for a great meet and greet. Big thanks to the wonderfully efficient staff. Superb food and drink, will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu.
Had an amazing time here! Loved the waffle with scrambled tofu, the combination of flavours was perfect. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit again!
Always great. Nicole runs a right ship and the food is always a delight. Wonderful little neighbourhood spot where I can drop by, grab some coffee beans and wave at the people on either the front patio or back yard.
Very flavorful savoury french toast. BBQ pemeal sandwich was a winner The drip coffee was too acidic for my taste but thats a minor complaint for an otherwise tasty breakfast
The loveliest corner place serving great brunch for a very reasonable price. It was a Saturday morning in the spring and a steady stream of all ages coming through. The French Toast was huge and delicious. the patio was busy the whole time, but tables indoors opened up as we sat there.
I am torn between how to review this place because I get two very different experiences based on who we talk to or deal with when we visit. I think the place is run by two people... One is very friendly, very nice, always smiling and the other is the exact opposite. There is not really something specific but just a bunch of small things in the way that person makes you feel unwanted there... Like they dont want your business specially when it comes to reservation. The last encounter was when we called to make a reservation and the answer was very stern as if we insulted them. We said can we please make a reservation at 10 am today (sunday) and the reply was no, we dont take same day reservation on weekends. Said in the most unsympathetic and unapologetic way ever, it might as well be said by a Robot. She didnt even say sorry for that, unfortunately, or anything like that and she crushed through the words like she cant wait to get rid of us on the phone. This might not bother some and we personally have visited the place on many occasions over the last few years.. And we always deal with the same rudeness from the same person there. The food is great though, the atmosphere is nice, the patio is nice, just not all the people hosting you.
Cherice and Amanda are my morning heroes. Always the best service and friendly conversations. The perfect neighbourhood spot. The scones and oat milk lattes bring me life! Thanks friends.
Wonderful upper beach food destination! Had brunch/lunch with a girl friend. Hot drinks and cold drinks sampled. Cute extras from the baked goods also purchased. We will be back.
I stumbled across this place while looking for a brunch spot in the area and it absolutely MADE my day. The staff was all incredibly kind and attentive and gave great recommendations. The place itself is also adorable beyond words, and I really felt like I was just having breakfast in my grandmas backyard. It was incredibly cozy and comfortable and kitschy in all the right ways. I went with my boyfriend and tried the savory French toast and the bacon and scrambled egg breakfast sandwich and ate every single bite of it. The pork belly was perfectly cooked, French toast was pillowy and the perfect level of sweetness thanks to the blueberry compote, and the bacon and egg sandwich will be something I dream of for the rest of the summer, made with the creamiest eggs and crispiest bacon on a nice soft baguette with cheddar. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Small menu but all great options. Veg friendly. Cute but limited dine in options has resulted in wait times. Youre able to reserve ahead and recommended on weekends.
Best brunch food in the area
Didn t make a reservation but arrived at 9am (opening time) on a Saturday and had no problem getting a seat on the cute patio. We were asked if we had a reservation, so it s likely recommended to have one if you are not planning to arrive at opening time. We d heard about the famous fingerlings and being a potato lover I set my expectations high. I was not disappointed! I had the Breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon, fingerlings and fried sourdough. The eggs were a little over done for my taste (more scrambled omelette) but still delicious. The bacon was crispy and not greasy, and the fried, not toasted, sourdough was a throw back to my childhood (full English with fried bread!) However, the star of the show was the fingerling. Crispy outside and fluffy inside. My partner ordered the French toast. It disappeared quickly. Not loving dessert for breakfast, I can t comment but he said it was delicious. Great, fast and friendly service and hot, strong coffee. We ll definitely be back!
good food but not very friendly staff
Great brunch.
Very friendly and welcoming. The burger was delicious and potatoes were crispy and wonderful. Highly recommend
Adorable place with delicious food, everything was really well made.
Called to ask if there was open space currently, was met with a I dont know. I dont know what will come up in 10 mins. Its first come first serve. Was then hung up on. When we arrived we were left standing at the entrance with plenty of open tables both inside and on the patio, only to be ignored by 3 different servers.
Poor service, rude. You might be busy but treat customers better. Just be courteous.
I went for Brunch for the first time. Staff was not very welcoming. Food was amazing! Eggs Benedict was delicious. The young lady who was serving the guests beside us was wearing extremely short shorts. So much so that her backside was completely out. It wasn t very professional attire and I didn t want to see that while I was eating. Probably more suitable for a different environment.
Very cute place, but the food itself is not great. I had the salmon benedict and it was below average, then I bought a croissant from their pastry section to try to end with a good taste, but they refused to heat it up and it was quite cold and unsatisfying. The atmosphere is nice, so it might be a better place to have a drink than to eat.
Hidden brunch spot with limited seating. Always book ahead for weekend brunch
Beautiful decor and such diverse, yet simple, options.
Loves dogs it! Amazing eggs Benny, plus the pastries were delicious.
Service is lacking, but the food and drinks are good. The atmosphere is nice on the patio as well. Its our go to local brunch spot.
I love the brunch here. The salmon and eggs are my favourite but I ve never seen someone have a disappointing meal here.
Good sandwiches and decent coffee. The patio areas are very nice in the summer. They do get busy on Fridays so reservations are a good idea.
Amazing food and service. Warm and cozy atmosphere. Poached eggs were absolutely perfect. Will be back for sure. 10/10
One of the best Toronto hidden gems. Chicken sandwich on point.
My husband and I decided to try brunch for our 44th wedding anniversary, the experience was delightful. We started with mimosas, and ordered eggs Benny, every bite was delicious. It was a wonderful mix of people, very noisy at times but also very pleasant. Finished the meal with a strong coffee, no complaints. We really enjoyed the time and highly recommend the staff, the food and the ambience !
Fabulous local spot! We didn t have a reservation but walked in right when they opened and were greeted by a superb waitress! The food was amazing, and the portions were very generous. I ll definitely be coming back and recommending the place.
Great hidden gem. It small but the food and service is very good.
Delicious, fresh food served quickly in a clean, quaint setting. Highly recommend.
A neighbourhood gem
First time at Bodega. We went for brunch and sat on the cute patio. The food was yummy and the staff are great!
Love lunching here. It s a great little spot for weekday business meetings. Always fantastic food and fast and friendly service with good tunes and lovely decor. Perfect homey vibes.
Had the savoury French toast. I took off a star because the pork belly wasnt crispy. Great spot otherwise. Very competent staff.
Had a delicious Sunday brunch here. The food and service were spot on. Just one comment on the salmon benedict - the salmon was quite dry!!
The friendly service, reasonable prices, the very very best savoury French toast. Absolutely the best I have ever had. Pork belly bits, bacon, maple syrup, blueberries, 3 huge pieces. Delicious. Thank you.
Great service, excellent food, neighborhood gem.
Wonderful brunch, would definitely recommend the eggs benny. Made a reservation for noon on a saturday but there were walk-in tables available nonetheless - started to really fill up half an hour later though so reserve to be safe. Sat outside but the interior is lovely, one of the absolute prettiest Ive seen in a while (I feel like atmosphere is more important than people give it credit for)!
It fills you with immense happiness when a long bookmarked place is so gooood that it can now move to Favorites list instead. We were here for Sunday brunch in a group of 4. We couldn t book reservation and instead did a walk-in. Thankfully we got the table after 15-20 min walk. We ordered 1. Tofu Scramble with Chickpea waffle, 2. Falafel Sandwich, 3. Egg Benny with Peameal, 4. Savory French Toast. I can speak to vegan dishes as I ate those. Both #1 and #2 were great really wholesome and flavourful. They were not trying to emulate meat, instead it was a celebration of vegetarian flavours on the plate. I initially thought I must replace Tofu scramble with scrambled eggs but I would have missed the delight Tofu was. The sandwich bread could be more crunchy but it is a minor thing. The portion sizes are just right, not American large. Ended the meal with Latte and Bumbleberry Bread Pudding. Latte was rich and pudding was soft and subtle sweet. I enjoyed being here and will be back for sure. P.S. they should do something about mosquitoes harmless but annoying. Vegetarian options: They have sufficient vegetarian and vegan options. Not the processed versions but real veg food that doesn t try to emulate meat. Loved it.
This was our first visit to Bodega Henriette, but it wont be our last. It was an immediately welcoming place, with a wonderful ambience on its tiny-but-charming covered patio. The 3 staff who helped us were absolutely lovely, and the food...DELICIOUS! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience yesterday!
Love the neighborhood feel of this small bakery/restaurant. Good was excellent and love all the plants!
This cafe has very tasty dishes, the serving of dishes is fast.
Very friendly and cozy restaurant. Tasty and high quality food.
Delish food. Make sure to make reservations. Always a line up.
real food and absolutely great people

Best Breakfast Sandwich of all the Breakfast sandwiches. A wins a win!
