Le Paradis will be open from 5:00 PM for patio service & takeout, with delivery through DoorDash or just pick-up (tap & go) at the restaurant.
All food we ordered was amazing! Bouef a la bourguignonne was fantastic, it melted in the mouth and the flavors yum!
We were passing by and looked nice so we went in and had dinner. I think this was my second time at this restaurant, I thought it was my first but I have been here many years ago. French food, flavor was not too strong nor weak and service was great!
Fantastic restaurant for friends, families and anniversaries. Authentic French cuisine with multiple options from seafood to veal to chicken to vegan. Servers were really nice and professional. The server lady recommended chardonnay which was soft and fruitful. Quite place from chaotic city vibe but warm pub feeling. Fair price for such a quality. You can easily find parking spots along the road side.
A cozy and warm french dining experience in downtown. Extremely friendly staff and excellent food. ✨ Highlight: Flatiron steak, Duck and chicken liver mousse 💭 Other thoughts: For the Escargots, i’d love it even more if it could be more garlicky and slightly saltier!
An authentic French restaurant in downtown Toronto with a wide selections of French cuisine dishes that will bring you an aromatic experience dining here. The setting is very cozy and warm. The staffs are extremely friendly and attentive. I would recommend trying everything that your stomach can handle because the food in this place is definitely underrated. The price point is another A+ for the food you’re getting. Would come back any day.
I love French food but this place was like mid to me. I came here with my family. You can find free parking close by. Waiting area was kind of cramped especially with multiple groups waiting for a table. I ate the auvergnate, some charcuterie, and jarret d’agneau maghrebin. Service was good. The auvergnate was just a salad with arugula, walnuts, blue cheese, and apples. It was okay, nothing exciting. The jarret d’agneau maghrebin was braised lamb shank with vegetable tajine, dried fruit, and couscous. Lamb shank was very tender and easily fell off the bone. It was seasoned and well balanced. The couscous on the other hand was way too salty, I didn’t even finish my plate. Portion size was sufficient. We also had 3 scoops of sorbet. We had melon, kiwi, and lemon. Lemon was very sour so make sure you eat it with the melon to balance out the sourness. Overall it’s a 3 for me.
Excellent French dining in a nice neighbourhood and with reasonable prices for a fine dining establishment. We were seated in the basement area, which was cozy, not too damp and not too dark. We had a three-course dinner and all of the dishes tasted excellent, and the portions were good. Some of the waitresses here do speak French, which lends authenticity to the restaurant. The service was excellent – our waitress, whose name I forgot, was a lovely person who gave recommendations, was attentive and cheerful, and could be talkative when needed but also knew when to leave us alone. A pleasant experience overall!
As someone who has been coming to this restaurant for the past couple of decades, I can confidently say that it is one of the best places to enjoy authentic French cuisine. The food here is simply fantastic, and the sweetbreads are a particular favorite of mine - something that's not always easy to come by in other restaurants. One thing that sets this restaurant apart is the consistency of its service. Over the years, I've come to recognize many of the staff, and it's always a pleasure to see the same friendly faces whenever I return. The fact that they are able to retain their staff speaks volumes about the quality of the restaurant and the work environment they provide. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic French dining experience. The food is top-notch, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is always welcoming and inviting. I look forward to many more years of dining at this wonderful establishment. And did I mention that their price is very reasonable given the quality of their food and service!
This place would get 4.5 stars for the food which is always delicious. They recently added new menu items which are equally yummy. I typically prefer eating at the bar when I go out but the bartender here is gruff and rude. I have never had a server refuse to let me taste a draft beef before order it. It is too bad for this staffing blunder; the bar this the first point on contact when you enter this restaurant and you are greeted by a very unwelcoming individual.
Beautiful, classy French restaurant. Dining here has Always been soo much fun and delicious.
Long-lived Bistro serving authentic and delicious casual French cuisine Vegetarian options: Usually just one vegan main Food : 4/5 |
Terrible service. Had reservation but table was not ready. We were asked to sit somewhere else until table is clean. 45 minutes later when I asked for 2nd time they seemed clueless as they had forgotten and when they realized, they started saying we are working on it while they had given few tables away. After total waiting of 50 Minutes after our reservation time (total 1 hour as we were 10 minutes early) we left hungry, Disrespected, Frustrated and had to go somewhere else. Would never enter that place if I had left my phone and wallet there. Terrible attitude.
I ve been coming here for a while because I love the food, but my latest experience was not very pleasant. We kept trying to get the servers attention to get us bread and we finally got it, after we were almost done with our meal. After which, he shaded us for not tipping him enough. His words exactly, the industry standard is 20% . Not sure which world he s living in where this is an industry standard. Secondly, if you expect that % of tip, have better service, or include the tip beforehand instead of ruining your dinners experience with your sarcastic comments.
Wonderful French bistro in a great neighbourhood. A place that will become your favourite due to amazing staff ( who know your name after a few visits), great food: duck confit, daily fish, variety of beef dishes, vegetarian options.
Craving French? Unapologetically Parisian in Toronto. Have never been let down by any of the dishes!
Tasty French cuisine in a cozy restaurant and at a relatively affordable price.
We were very happy with our dinner at Le Paradis on a Friday evening. We both ordered the grilled calamari to start and the duck confit and beef bourgignon for mains. Delicious! Great portions. Not too salty. Service was also excellent from start to finish. Im hesitant to even post this review because I dont want my new hidden gem to become too popular... But it seems like this joint has been around for a while and is here to stay! Thank you.
The food was good, the beef tartare and duck confit were delish! The grilled calamari could have been better presented, and bad/old salad could have been removed from the plate. I will unfortunately not go back and can not recommend either, as the overall experience was not memorable. Ps: Originally from France, I can tell they hired a typical French waitress, super cold but polite.
Consistently great food and service. A total gem of a restaurant!
Fantastic little neighbourhood French bistro. Really enjoyed the food, especially the beef bourgignon. Service was slow that day so they comped us the desserts which was nice. Will definitely go back again!
Fabulous servers, fantastic food and very fair prices. This place is #1 in my book! A Toronto gem!
My birthday was amazing here
Always delicious. When in doubt, have the duck confit, lamb burger or steak frites. Always have the fries. Always have a Malibar cocktail. At a time when service in Toronto has degraded to the point that I barely want to go out, this place is a staple and never disappoints.
Our first visit to the restaurant. We were with a little girl. There is no childrens portion, too bad. The food was very tasty. It was quite dark and I used my phones flashlight to read the menu... We ate chicken with mushrooms and potatoes in white wine, Atlantic salmon and a salad with palm hearts.
The Stake was over cooked. It was not the nicest area for my sons 40th birthday. It used to be much better here. For a 350.00 dollar meal I would expect more.
Great little French bistro.
Good eats and great value. Nice selection of traditional French bistro food. Service can feel a bit rushed at times, but always friendly.
Ultimate. Not to be missed! Food, service, atmosphere of great quality Our server is a hard-core professional. Oh la la, the wine, the starter, the dessert!
Kid-friendliness: No kids menu Wheelchair accessibility: Interior stairs Food : 5/5 |
Food was good overall besides the mussels which had sand in it. Only ordered appetisers and dessert. The escargots is one dish I would order again.
As a Frenchwoman who arrived in Canada 2 months ago for my semester abroad, let me say that this restaurant is incredible. I went back to France for dinner, and the moules frites and salade verte I had were worthy of a Parisian bistro. The bread we were served with butter reminded me of my meals in France (I even got to dip my bread in the sauce at the end). The waiter, Robert, was perfect, very attentive to our requests and pleasant. And to our delight, we were greeted by a waitress who spoke French.
Average food, typical pub fare.
Always great food and service Staff is great even when it is very busy Which it usually is and should be I consider one of the best restaurants in the city Food : 5/5 |
A fantastic restaurant with a great variety of options! Everyone involved in the service was excellent and very professional in every way imaginable. The atmosphere of the place was very eccentric, but in that family sense. Lots of chatter filled the air, and nothing quite beats that. For the quality it is aptly priced. Try it!
Food took an hour literally and the waitress didnt even say thank you after a 20$ tip!
Food
Excellent service and dedication, as a tourist I definitely recommend visiting this place
This is the best French Brasserie restaurant in Toronto. The food is always delicious and generous. I love this place, I am a regular client there. The team is always nice and professional. The waiter is also very handsome and pro. ;) the price is very reasonable and I always recommend to my friends to try it out.
Food very reasonably priced especially cocktails(12$?!? Nice ore drink spot) waiters attentive and efficient. Food wasnt imaginative or special. Simple french fair. No complaints but nothing stood out.
What a gem! We rented an Airbnb in the neighbourhood and dined here twice in 1 week. Great service, great food, and great very reasonable too.
Still good
Very impressed with the service. The servers were attentive and superb. Food was excellent and came very quickly.. It was packed on Sunday at 7pm .. mixed crowd. My guess: once you ve beeb there, you ll go again! Food
A wonderful bistro with great food! Weve been patrons since the late 90s.
Great French brasserie
Food wasn t as good as I expected it to be. Charcuterie had no cheese which was unusual, and had perhaps a pâté or or tartar which wasn t great. Duck breast entree was pretty good. Wine was great. Mussels were great. Nothing stood out as amazing though it was a reliable French restaurant atmosphere and impeccable service. Vegetarian options: Veg options Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
The staff are so unfriendly, grumpy and rude! If you don t want to serve, then get another job. I still tipped but honestly I regret tipping them! We were having a dinner with great friends at Le Paradis. Regrettably the great company with friends (food is ok) was ruined by the rudeness of their staff. We live on the same street. We love to support the local businesses (there are so many great restaurants in this neighbourhood), but this was such a horrible experience. Will never go back again!
A bit outdated place that has been there forever. But good service and food. Friendly people and dedicated to make it a good experience for your group.
Great French food and lovely service. Tons of gluten free options!
I took a friend from Germany and the entire experience was authentic and delicious!
France in Canada.
Great food, service and ambience! If the server remembers me, I did send the creme caramel picture to my mom and she liked it! ( It was yummy btw) Food : 5/5
Disappointing date night experience. Despite making advance reservations and the restaurant not being overly full, we were seated in the basement near the washrooms. Diners at two different nearby tables were conversing loudly, continuously dropping F-bombs every few sentences throughout the meal. Definite mood killer which staff could / should have addressed imo. This combined with the tired decor in the dungeonesque dining area failed to create a positive impression. Portion size to price ratio seemed fair however the food itself was only mediocre - bland and uninspired - falling far short of the rave reviews we had read here before booking. Server was attentive and the only bright spot of an otherwise lacklustre experience. While it may be unfair to compare the food / ambience to authentic experiences weve enjoyed in France, it IS fair to measure against a comparable meal enjoyed at another French restaurant in Toronto just four days prior, which absolutely outshone Le Paradis on every level, at precisely the same price point. The other restaurant is one to which we will most certainly return. Le Paradis, not so much.
I ve been a loyal customer of this French bistro for almost four years now since we live very close by. However, my most recent dining experience left me very disappointed. It wasnt about the food the food is still amazing! But the service was really bad. One of the older lady servers stepped on my chair while setting up my table and started being grumpy. When she was cleaning the table, it almost looked like she was throwing the plates. She ignored me most of the time when I asked for more bread, please. We heard her asking every table around us how the food was, but she only showed attitude toward our table. I dont know if she s racist or what because we were the only Asian group. My friend only gave her a 12% tip, and she started making very grumpy sounds behind our backs. I ll go back for the food for sure, but I will not tip next time if the service is still this bad.
A reliable French bistro/brasserie with no surprises but a nice classic menu, fair prices and cordial service
Great bistro, lots of ambiance. Excellent food. Extremely reasonable wine card, topping at 50$/bottle, with very good products on offer.
Le Paradise, nestled between commercial and residential property, on a narrow Old Toronto street, retains its 80s charm, hidden character and ambiance, and should be on your list of romantic hideways. Expect friendly hosts, French & English convo, representative upscale bistro menu, attentiveness throughout dinner, and appealing savors for every palate. I love this place. $100-$150/ person depending on what youre celebrating and with whom.
Love this place - have been going here for 20 yrs
Has never been less than great.
Excellent service and delicious food, fantastic drinks and amazing service.
Classic French bistro in every way. Good food, good service, great attitude, and reasonable prices.
High calibre French cuisine. Definitely make a reservation!
A classic french bistro and Toronto staple. I have been coming here with my family for years. Great food. Amazing value. Lovely service. Always a great place to start your evening.
Excellent French brasserie right when you need one. Cozy. Efficient service. Food exactly as you picture it.
The escargots were on the bland side but the duck leg confit with cherry gastrique was pretty good. Both the cheese tart and flourless Belgian chocolate cake were good. Service was friendly and food came out promptly as well. There is a small patio out front as well. (2018 visit) Went back a second time in 2024 and their pan-seared duck a lorange was excellent. The mussels in white wine sauce and fries were tasty and lemon tart was delicious.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and great wine menu!
Great food, fantastic service and reasonable prices. My favorite restaurant!
Unassuming spot with absolutely delicious French cuisine at reasonable prices! The vibe, decoration, and waiters talking French definitely add more authenticity to this place it is almost like you are not in Toronto the moment you stepped inside! Everything was delicious, homemade style and still delicious, and we devoured everything. Btw, I loved they served bread slice by slice so it is always warm! Was especially impressed by the snail, very interesting presentation and the snail was the most tender that I have ever had, and the garlic butter is sooo fragrant that you don t want to waste them either. There were already quite a few customers at 6 on Sunday and I wouldn t be surprised that this place has a lot of regulars. Would love to come back to sample other dishes
Wonderful dinner out at Le Paradis. Chicken liver pate was excellent and the Duck confit was prepared beautifully. The room was bustling and had a really welcoming feel to it, full of diners enjoying themselves. We were shocked at how reasonable the prices were especially in 2024 when it seems like value no longer exists in the Toronto restaurant scene. Will definitely return!
Fabulous birthday dinner last nite. Perfect service & delicious food. Lovely ambience. A+
Great experience with Le Paradis. Great food and service Highly recommend La Paradis! Food : 5/5
This is a neighborhood gem, and theyve been around for decades. A down-to-earth, but fantastic French restaurant, with reasonable prices, which is something thats hard to find in Toronto. Their menu gets updated regularly (which is the mark of a good restaurant) but some staples stay. Theres lots of French classics, skillfully prepared, and never boring. They always have lovely service, and very experienced servers.
A throwback to the 80s/90s in many ways. Reliable bistro-style menu. Food is consistently and capably prepared. Service is similarly confident. Loyal clientele seem to have been coming from the very start. Always a good sign.
Service always great - food usually good - - since pandemic food is not always consistent but getting better every time we go.
Wonderful place. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly service. Amazing buttery delicious homey French food. Will absolutely be going again.
My go to spot for great French cuisine. Beautiful ambience with friendly staff. I love the fact that they allow you to bring your own wine for $20 per bottle. Highly recommended, and always a pleasure to dine at this place.
Terrible duck confit, the leg is too dry, very disappointed.
Went to this restaurant 20 years ago, and it has still maintained its charm. Food was Amazing.
Really impressed, the service A1 and the food was so delicious. Ill be back for sure
Great food, great service, been here multiple times, love it!
Feels, tastes authentic French. More like homemade meal. Food
Warm service, reasonable price, comfortable environment
never disappointed with the food and service!
Awesome night out/dinner
Great service, affordable prices and a fun atmosphere! Our server and the staff in general were very hospitable. The duck confit was phenomenal. Will definitely return again!
Best french food Ive had in toronto. Great old school brasserie atmosphere. The staff are great fun as well.
A lovely bistro with a fancy atmosphere, lots of authentic French personality and charm, and a menu that is both delicious and reasonably priced. A rare jewel in Torontos often shallow culinary landscape, this place has everything: hospitable but unpretentious, mouth-watering food, stunning service from le meilleur service and an atmosphere where you can hear conversation without shouting, and finish your meal without being rushed. Greater than the sum of its parts for having it all. My fav.
The braised beef was as tough as leather. we ordered 2 and they were both bad.
The food was horrible! We both ended up feeling sick the next day! We ordered the braised beef which is supposed to be so tender that they did not bring us a steak knife. But the meat was so tough that no knife could cut through it! Hard as a rock! I told the waiter and he just nodded and left instead of offering to rectify the situation. Never go back again!
First time trying this place, cocktails and food were mediocre. 2 people from our party ordered the braised short rib and were very disappointed by how tough it was. Not sure if this was just an off day but I won t be coming back here.
A quality local French bistro with comfort food that doesnt just do nostalgic cliches. Also a decent wine list that wont crush your wallet.
A staple in Toronto. The food and service are consistently great, the ambiance is part of the character. Its comfortable and reliable, a must try.
Great little gem in the heart of the city
Phenomenal food and friendly service.
This is a restaurant that I really want to go to only myself. The wine prices are also very reasonable.
A wonderful French gem. Fresh food and very reasonable prices on wine bottles. Expect an older crowd but that s part of the charm. Servers are very professional and accommodating. Dress fancy if you want to (you should cuz it s fun!)
This place seems very under-rated. Being in a weird, almost barless and restaurant area. Right on the cusp of Mount pleasant and Yorkville. Basically in-between. This might be the absolute best Anglophone French restaurant in the city. Its quirky, but Im basing that solely on the food. The service has been impeccable. I walked in and said I had never been in, and the host gave me a tour and allowed me to choose a seat. The server seems like the owner. And Im going to order something else!!
Still good place, very friendly people, will go back again
Some of the best French food in Toronto. Constantly rotating menu with unique dishes. Quality and service A+. Good wine selection.
Good beer and good company. Staff were great
No French-speaking staff, the boss makes a mistake on the bill, forced to insist on a change. The waiter who takes us a bit for kids mhh it s a really good FRENCH baguette yum yum However, the meal was good and the service was quick. Just very disappointed with the bosss attitude. If you want
Staff are wonderful and food is delicious
I think their waitress needs to follow a legal webinar, because tipping, as culturally North American as it is, is still something that depends on goodwill and is not an obligation. Their waitress should follow a webinar abut law, tips remains something that depends on goodwill and does not fall under the obligation.
Very unpretentious and feels like genuine french bistro. I had the Tartare and the calfs liver and enjoyed that very much. Very friendly service. I will be back.
Reminiscent of an authentic Parisian bistro, with good food and somewhat disorganized service. Highly recommend the steak tartare and the confit canard, which can compete with most places in the 8ième. Ask for their drink of the day - its usually quite inventive and unique!
Small restorant, very friendly staff, well prepared meals. Be prepared to park in the street or public parking close by and walk ( beautiful in the summer or fall). Food
If youre looking for authentic French cuisine, look no further. The food is prepared using true French methods and the service is simply exquisite.
Great little bistro. Prices were affordable and the food was delicious. I had the artichoke appetizer and the steak. Both were amazing. Cocktails were just ok. Service was polite.
a neighbourhood favourite: the open kitchen layers on the sounds of cast iron and the scent of butter overtop the comforting french reductions. the rewards of leaving something behind allows for dessert sharing.
Went here for dinner for the first time. Leith was an excellent waiter. He was very kind and we could tell he is very passionate about the food as he told us the proper way to eat the various dishes we ordered. Superb service and all the dishes were excellent, very fresh and made to order. We will definitely be back.
Very much enjoyed the evening with amazing food. Felt like a fish out of water with elementary level french but the staff was very flexible and accommodating. The poached ear was unavailable but I was told its worth trying. Cod was excellent, best Ive ever had.
This local favourite has been around for many years with a traditional French bistro menu and an excellently priced wine list (most bottles are $45 to $50 with not a single bad selection). Portions, flavour and value for money are all spot on making it a perfect formula as a regular dining spot, especially when inflation plus cost-cutting have become the norm in the restaurant industry. There are a rotating set of specials that keeps the menu interesting all the time. The staff have remained mostly consistent for well over a decade, and its just great to see them remember their regular patrons and their food and drink preferences. My wife and I had not been back for some time due to the pandemic, and our usual server immediately remembered us and asked me specifically about my field of work. I was floored that she remembered after all that time! Atmosphere gets a 4 because it could use a face-lift by todays standards, yet still maintains a charming feel in spite of the dated decor.
Weve enjoyed Le Paradis many times over the years, and have always had a great experience. Every item on the menu is worth trying, their cocktails are delicious, and dessert is a must. In nicer weather they have front and back patios to enjoy as well. Its tucked nicely into a more residential area, so there isnt much traffic going by either.
I have been visiting for many years and each time I marvel that a lot of the same serving staff are still working there. This time I ordered grilled octopus with an orange sauce as the starter. I never would have thought of that as a combination but it was superb mains was boeuf bourguinon which was also to die for. The only comment would be that the sauce needed a bit more bourguinon... But that was a minor issue. As always the service was wonderful.
Very few restaurants outside France can pull off not only an authentic bistro menu, but also the feel of a bistro. Le Paradis, which is tucked away in a side street north of Bloor, succeeds at both. The only thing that s not authentic: they give pleasant and attentive service unlike their counterparts in Paris. Highly recommend ordering a main with their superb frites. Their wine list is almost completely French and boasts some excellent wines that are also great values. Only street parking is available; you may want to park at a lot off Bloor and take a 10 minute walk to the restaurant. We will definitely be back to dine again.
Very lovely experience dining at Le Paradis. If I were to sum up the meal in one word, it would be satisfying . What I really enjoyed about Le Paradis was the familial, unpretentious atmosphere of the restaurant, from the food served, to the way the servers interacted. Now onto the food. Absolutely splendid. We started our meal off with the beet and goat cheese salad, which was peppered with hazelnuts. Very nice combo with the creaminess of the cheese, and the pickled onions it was served with. Next was the beef Bourguignon. Tender beef is a rich, almost smoky red wine sauce. My partner ordered the coulotte with peppercorn and frites, which was also tasty and comforting. We finished off the meal with coffee and a cherry sundae, complete with crumbled Balthazar cake and sour cherries. Overall - a 5/5 experience for me. This is my kind of restaurant, and I ll definitely be back! I must also give credit to our server Gigo (sorry if my spelling or memory is way off), who really added a lovely touch to the whole service.
Wonderful visit. Good pricing and brilliant menu. When you have a number staff members who have worked there for more than a decade, it says something very warming about the restaurant. Well see you again, very soon. Food : 5/5
Its our citys most perfect restaurant!
We caught the restaurant in inclement weather..a hail storm in June actually!Just as we arrived, our reserved table in the quiet section became unavailable, as the back patio had to be cleared of people as the storm rolled in. The atmosphere was pretty chaotic for the balance of the evening, as we were finally seated in the front. Service was quick but tense, probably as a result of the storm and ensuing panic The food was delicious. I had the foie de veau et frites, with a lovely glass of Bordeaux, a side of grilled asparagus and a lemon tart, which was perfect. I think I would like to come back and enjoy another meal here. Next time, we will reserve on a calmer night!
Sadly, place has declined. Atmosphere is poor, outside back feels like one is sitting in a parking lot, food was bland, the Mahi Mahi as well as the Salmon, service poor.
Beautiful food, amazing service, highly recommended! Parking: Easy parking along the street Food : 5/5 |
Le Paradis is a medium size bit of civilization in Toronto with a fine menu, great food, solid wine list, and service staff who are friendly and fun.
I love this little local gem. A real french bistro. The artichoke chips were very different and lovely. The escargot was tasty and delicious. Ordered the liver for my main and was not disappointed.
This is my second time at this restaurant. Once again, it did not disappoint. The food and drinks were delicious. Leith was our server, and he was just fantastic! Dietary restrictions: Tree nuts
Enjoyable, reasonably priced and real French food in a nice bistro atmosphere.
Fantastic food and great wine selection. I recommend le Tabel rosé wine and the moulin à vent red wine. Just follow the recommendations from Brigitte and you cannot get it wrong. Incredible. Works so well with the duck. This is a gem!
Omg ! Fantastic place! Listen to Bridget !!!
Great experience with Bridget ! ask for wine recommendation
IMO, Le Paradis is the #1 best spot for authentic French food in the city. Been going for years with my family and friends and its always great. Prices are good, service is great, and theres lots of space indoors and out. The atmosphere is unpretentious and perfectly lovely. My only request is to stock some St Germain liqueur so I can order my favorite cocktail!
Solid place to eat- delicious mains and apps. I will be coming back.
As a Frenchman with a decent history of culinary experiences, I cannot recommend this place, at all. I was looking forward to a typical French-sounding menu, but unfortunately the quality of cooking did not live up to the expectations. Our comments were also responded to with some infatuations, such as when asking why our red wine was brought to us cold -- the waitress came back only to say that this was the style of the house. As for the particulars of the cuisine: - The snails were chewy and bitter, floating in oil -- where were the butter and herbs of a beurre descargots ? - The rognons were curiously glazed but decent in themselves, but were also drowned in a thick layer of oil. As an amateur of veal kidneys, that was borderline disgusting. - My partners ris de veau tasted vinegar. Again a far cry from the actual dish or simply from something enjoyable. Overall, this left us a feeling of carelessness. I honestly cannot fathom why people left reviews praising the authenticity of the place, if they know French cuisine.
Toronto classic
An amazing French restaurant. Excellent decor, excellent food, just the perfect noise level (can easily talk to your partner without leaning forward, can lean forward to not be overheard)
A bit out of the way, but well worth the walk. No fuss, straight up basic French cuisine. The cuisse de canard was excellent, paired with a nice glass of red Côte du Rhône. Both, btw, recommended by the waitress.
Authentic French cuisine with very experienced staff that makes you feel welcome all the time. A great fine place to dine with friends and family without breaking your wallet. My all time favourite is duck confit and recently they started serving duck breast as well so it s a tight match now.
Great restaurant! Food is tasty and a good portion. Service is excellent. Got the escargot, tartare, beef cheeks, lamb shank and sweetbreads.
had an awesome time here. i m no connoisseur of french cuisine but the food tasted good, the service was good, and the wine was good. plus the patio is private and covered. prices are very reasonable for toronto! washrooms could have been cleaner.
Food and service were fantastic as usual. We ate in the back outdoor area which was nice and could have used more decorative touches so the back lane way wasn t visible. Not a dealbreaker by any means, however
What a treat to have found Le Paradis during our trip to Toronto last month. Classic French cuisine in a comfortable atmosphere with great service. Looking forward to our next visit!
Amazing!!!
Great food great service you should check this out.
Fantastic experience - very good value. Very tasty food, with many unique dishes first and foremost (I tried several). Exceptional service, and very nice vibe and atmosphere. Prices were very fair given the quality of food and the overall experience. I dont often return to the same restaurant twice, but there are a number of items on the menu I still want to try. Definitely recommended.
Wonderful food. The low hard ceilings makes it quite loud but cest la vie.
A very solid place to enjoy French food. Food was cooked and seasoned very well, and the price was very reasonable for the food I had. I didnt order anything that tastes particularly outstanding to me this time, but I hope I can find something that does next time when I come back!
Both the food and service were excellent! Highly recommend!
Food took just one hour to arrive from time we placed our order. As usual the food was outstanding...the service was frankly poor. That said we will definitely go back to this charmingly delightful restaurant.
Delicious food with good pricing, the staff are very welcoming, make you feel like you are dining in a small European town where they are familiar with their customers
The duck was incredible! Definitely going back for more.
Nice French bistro at very good prices.
Used to be good. Ate here over the summer and got a campylobacter infection that lasted two weeks. The health department has been notified and is likely closing this place down. Avoid!!
No vegetarian options at all. Insane. It s 2023!
Food was good, service was great. Our waitress in particular was super nice and friendly. She gave her honest answers to our questions which was really appreciated. I had the coq au vin and my friend has the sweetbreads. Both were good. My favorite part was the fries and house made mayonnaise. Simple but so delicious.
Kid-friendliness: Treated us really nicely and gave us free bread and butter. If I were to describe my experience in one word it would be amazing. Food
Food was mediocre at best, took forever to come. The char of my steak tasted burnt, I expected more for sure. Drinks were good however, but also pricey. What really ticked us off is that one of the male waiter kept hitting on my friend, in front of all of us (10+) and it made her (and us) super uncomfortable. The other waitresses were fine, it was just that one guy- and after this experience I dont think any of us would come there again.
Acceptable food. Fair price and value. Below average desserts. Service unpredictable.
It was an exceptional dinner with extraordinary service thanks to our super nice server who took good care of us the delicious food recommended
I ve been coming to Le Paradis for the past 30 years and have always loved it. This weekend I dined there and it had a different feel. I found the restaurant very sad looking. It needs a facelift. Very dated. My seat had a large gash in it. Above me were three light switches that had dirty fingerprints all over it. No ambiance. No candles on the table anymore. Our meal was very good except the Branzino I ordered was paper thin and so small for what they charge you. The crème brûlée is now made with milk instead of cream so it was tasty but like a soup. I had to drink most of it with a spoon. The service though was as great as always.
The Cuisse de Canard Aux Cerises at Le Paradis is a delectable delight, bursting with rich flavors. The foods exquisite taste is elevated by the warm and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, making it a truly delightful dining experience. If you are a dessert person, I recommend you try the rich Crème Catalan. You won t regret it! Recommended dishes
I absolutely adore this place. The staff are so wonderful and enthusiastic. The atmosphere is chill and classy. The food is beautiful and the wine, even better. I always highly recommend this place to friends and family because it just ticks every box. The staff are always so professional and deserve high praise, handsome tips, and a good chat. Well done La Paradis for being the best French cuisine in town.
The food was GREAT. I highly recommend the onion soup and the lamb main. So gooood!!!! The chicken dish was also really good, but in a different way. The escagot was too buttery for me personally but was also good. Service was fast and fun! All the servers showed enthusiasm and personalities, which i love! The place is a bit crowded/packed. All the tables are quite close to one another so theres not much privacy. Overall, i really like the experience and will definitely go back!
Best bistrot in Toronto. Great food, very professional and friendly service. Were there more people speaking French and youd feel à Paris.
Delicious in every way! Highly recommend. Fois gras is exceptional and so is the artichoke appetizer.
Great hidden gem. Attentive service, loud atmosphere, great appetizers. Traditional French cuisine at its best , I had the leg of duck confit with a cherry gastric Food : 4/5
Tried the tartare, very very fair price, had a glass of Merlot also very well priced. They were great together, rare to find fair pricing in Toronto. Service was subpar but it s not a fine dining spot so I don t expect magic however I know I will return back here. Thanks again, Paradis.
The place was very nice. From the moment I arrived and saw many tables with adults, I knew it was a good place. Older people have good taste, for my first time in a French restaurant. The person who served us was very nice and hearing her speak in French was so divine I dont remember her name but she is a lady with many years of experience very good place
Had a lovely date night here with my girlfriend. The staff made us feel so welcome and the food was fantastic
I have had a lot of excuses to dine out of late so have frequented it many times in the past few weeks. Service is topnotch , and the food is wonderful. The prices are quite reasonable and I have no regrets spending the money because of the value I get for it. Cocktails and wine prices are also good. Only slightly downside is the seating is quite tight and it can sometimes be a bit noisy. Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend taking kids here. Its fine dining and a nice date night place.
The food was very delicious, the waitress was a little annoying, the place was very comfortable.
We were so looking forward to our visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful, unfortunately they did not have their signature dishes of sweetbreads and liver. The items we did order apps and main course was cold and lacked seasoning. No attempt to heat the plates to help preserve the food temperature. We were truly disappointed as all previous reviews were very positive.
Peter was very kind :)
