Maravilhoso! I was looking for a brazilian restaurant cause I was missing some good sunday pastel, so I decided to go to Samba after a recommendation from a friend of a friend - I’m glad for the rec. The place is so cute and the decor is very charming, I felt very comfortable with such a good and nice service. Food is authentic, the pastel tasted exactly like it is in Brazil, and the same goes for the brigadeiro. I’ll get in the chain and also recommend this place to anyone :)
Samba Brazil Eatery - sempre beleza no meu coração (always beauty in my heart). I had discovered this special place on an overcast day in June on my first exploration of Yonge Street this summer. Located just south of Yonge & Eglinton, Samba Brazil Eatery shone forth in the radiant colours of Brazil's flag: yellow and green (with some blue for good measure). This is where I tasted my first "pastel" - a popular Brazilian street-food: rectangle-shaped, thin, crispy, savoury pies filled with assorted goodness (meat, cheese, herbs, etc.). Longing to return, on my second trek up Yonge Street, I danced on in and ordered the "Jerky Beef" pastel/pastry - Brazilian-style Jerk Beef with cassava and onions. The staff, as always, was full of sunshine and cheer. The staff member suggested to add an extra helping of "Requeijão caseiro" - a liquidy ricotta/cream-cheese - to the pastel/pastry. This added a very desirable element of creaminess to the flaky tenderness of the meat. Beleza com certeza! The atmosphere was authentic. With the arrival of a couple of families, seating was at a premium and became a very cozy carnival - the sounds of Brazilian Portuguese filling the shop and patio table outside. As the words of my favourite song best describe: Não dá pra esconder, o que eu sinto por você, Samba ... Só sei que o Samba Brazil é bom demais... (I can't hide how I feel about you, Samba ... All I know is that Samba Brazil Eatery is too good...)
The service was friendly... I ordered the Bacalhau Da Casa pastel. It was incredible. The pastry was light and chewy (good things , IMO). The cod was delicious. I only wish there was more filling... I would have liked the option to pay for more.
It's a tiny cozy place but the food is amazing, only exceeded by the warm and friendly staff, Livia is simply awesome! it was a wonderful surprise to have reasonably priced Brazilian street food right in my own 'hood, my go-to pastel is the classic meat & cheese, you got to try it with the vinaigrette and Brazilian soft drink Guarana, also available Zero sugar. You will be back for more!
the pastry was very delicious, loved the flakiness and crispy exterior. not enough filling for me however... felt like only 1/4 of the actual pastry had any of the filling in it. delicious nonetheless, but definitely wish it had more filling.
Whether you want a good Brazilian dish or give it a try in what we call “pastel”, you should try this place. They have one of the best paulista pastry in the area. Highly recommended. Btw Lívia is the best. The most patient, kind at the place. She’ll explain and give you ideas of what to order.
Best Brazilian pastry in Toronto. I tried creamy shrimp and beef and cheese savory pastries. They were godsend! So yummy 😋 Perfect snack! Nice vibe as well. I’m hooked now. Yes! Highly recommend this place.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The most unanimously Brasizilian street food or snack you should try. There are several vegetarian options. Don't forget to ask Guaraná for a drink I bet you won't regret it. I hope it can grow for a bigger place in the neighborhood.
Small space, food is worth the wait.
Loved! Fast and delicious
Their pasties are to die for and it s affordable.
Everything is very good...a snack place, not for luxury...I recommend it Perfect pastry. I found it small, but very filling.
The best pastry Ive eaten here in Toronto!
Shrimp risoles with wonderful cream cheese. Big and tasty. Just-sized cheese pastry, super filling and tasty. Very good Coxinha chicken with requijao grande and very creamy and delicious. The filling is very united and delicious. I highly recommend it. And I hope they open one in Vaughan lol.
Very tasty mozzarella pastel. Friendly staff.
So delicious. Loved chicken pastel and special one.
The food here is bomb!!!
Great patio!
Very well located, would highly recommend!
I have been a customer for years at their St Clair West location. It is a great place to get Brazilian pastel and coxinha.
It was the best food Its an unforgettable taste Im going to be a regular
GET THE CHEESE ONE
The Ground Beef Pastel is amazing! Would definitely come back again!
The food was just so so good!!! Would highly recommend!
Got some takeout from here yesterday. It was just okay. Expected more cheese in the filling as shown in some of the pictures but it didnt turn out that way. The crust was way too oily, probably all the pockets needed a good pat down after frying. They did keep my order nice and hot which was good.
We ve been living in the area for a while and have just discovered this place. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Julia is great! Ordering over and over Ps: I wish they had some more vegan options
Wonderful food, amazing service. Would go again. I have already told my friends that this place has the best pasteles!!
Pastels are as good as they are in Brazil
Best pastel of Toronto, now in Midtown
Authentic Brazilian pastel! Fresh and well-done food.
Great food, unreliable hours. Despite saying they are open from 12-10 PM, they are just randomly closed. Same reason the Korean place that used to be there also closed. Its worth going for the food, its just annoying to be unable to rely on their hours.
The pineapple and coconut cake is to die for!!!! Sooo good!
Great pastel, very crispy and good amount of filling. Prices are fair. I tried almost all the pastéis in Toronto and this one is the best so far!
Absolutely delicious savory pastries (pastel). The passion fruit mousse is also fantastic. Super cute little spot too that plays nice Brazilian music. 10/10
best place to find a good pastel in Toronto!
D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s and authentic Brazilian snacks! Good portions, fresh, tasty Impossible not to love this place! The staff is very nice! I love the Pastel with Coalho Cheese and Dulce de Leche and the Shrimp Risoli with cream cheese (Requeijão)!!! Oh and can t forget to mention the carrot cake with brigadeiro!! yummy!! The ambient makes you feel you are in a Brazilian bar (boteco), so nice!
If you like traditional Brazilian pastéis this is the best place to eat!
Authentic Brazilian Pastel! A small place with big quality food. Love the atmosphere, charismatic servers, and a great variety of fillings to choose from. Ive tried 4 so far and love all of them, but specially the sweet ones.
Glad this cute little store opened in the neighborhood! Just gave it a go for the first time. Fernanda explained their menu with a lot of enthusiasm and made some great recommendations. She handed over my takeout, with the warmest smile and a hug oh and the pulled beef sandwich sure did hit the spot!
Sooo good, I loved it! The service was great as well, the people were so nice and sweet.
Absolutely wonderful! Fernanda was a delight. Can t wait to come back again :)
If you ever find yourself needing a little boost to your spirit, then I definitely recommend going to Samba for one of their many treats! The staff is so friendly! And if Fernanda offers you hot sauce take it
Best pastel of Toronto!
During my dining experience they literally forgot my complete order, when asked, they said they had no idea so I insisted on receipt in which showed my full order. Also saw the cook filing her nails and then touching our food.
