Boom at Eglinton in Toronto

Easily one of the best breakfast spots in the Yonge-Eglinton area. My partner and I have tried most of the items on this list, and I dont think there is a single thing Ive disliked. The staff are friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Highly, highly recommend!

The waitresses are mean, rude and unpleasant. The management appears to be clueless. Maybe this might give them a clue. I was there on the weekend with my toddler, newborn and wife. We stood at the door for a while. No one walked by or spoke to us, until we saw a waitress pass near by so I waved (hello) only have her stop look me dead in the eye and the most aggressive rude way possible said the host will be right with you okay and he will seat you We wanted to leave right there and then, however we had just parked we have kids and werent ready to walk out hop back in the car and go somewhere else. The food wasnt worth the wait either.

I have been going to boom on eglinton ever since they opened. The food is great and plentiful. The whole staff is always very welcoming and friendly. They even give out little snacks to the people that are waiting for a table. They never rush you and always make sure that you had a great time. I highly recommend boom without any reservation.

Went there for branch after a 5k race the food was amazing I got B.F.F Chicken sandwich but one thing the fries were not cooked very well but the portions and sandwich were very good. The service was good

Anna s service was the most memorable part. She was really sweet and attentive and really felt like she made my dad the birthday boy feel special.

I recently visited Boom with a few friend, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the service was incredibly slow. We waited over an hour for our food, which was frustrating. When the dishes finally arrived, some were overcooked, which was disappointing. My brunch burger, while flavorful, was too soggy and unappetizing. Overall, the slow service and inconsistent food quality made for a frustrating brunch. I hope they can improve, but I won t be rushing back anytime soon.

Came to Boom breakfast, however the time to get our food was absolutely insane- we waited over 35 minutes for food. For a breakfast place this is crazy. Food was good though but not worth the wait. Also very disappointed with service- we were sitting with empty water glasses for about 20 minutes before waitress came around to refill water.

Rude management, they said 15m wait to be seated. we were waiting for half and hour then they said we have to wait another 45m or more because the kitchen is busy.

Marella the owner was amazing, looked after our group so well and we were seated quickly considering it was a busy long weekend! Food was incredible! Thank you to the team and chefs!! Will be back.

Came here for breakfast last Sunday with my family. Very busy place but TOP natch service from the owner herself right to the dishwasher. We were served waffle at the door WOW !!! Wait was long but it s a brunch place expect to wait a bit. Bravo BOOM !! This behavior reflects the owners attitude toward customer feedback and the quality of the place. ================================================ I have had brunch at this place a couple of times. Each time, I promise myself not to go back, but I end up returning because the brunch, especially the salmon benedict, is incredibly delicious. However, the service here is very poor. The staff just bring you the food without offering any good service, and it often takes 30 minutes to an hour for the food to arrive after you get a table. If you want good service and value your time, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE

A staple in the neighbourhood! The food is excellent, service is great and everything is fresh and clean. Love it! Boom on Eglinton has been my go-to in the neighbourhood for at least 15 years!

When I say the best brunch spot you ll ever go to, I mean it! My boyfriend and I go every week and will ALWAYS KEEP GOING BACK. The food is delicious, the staff is the best! Feels like one big family that you want to be apart of. Love Boom on Eglinton so much <3

Excellent service! Everyone was busy but still very attentive and the food was delicious.

Service was a little slow, but otherwise the vibe was good and the food was great. They even gave us some free fries to compensate for the wait.

After 7 years of keeping this place on our brunch list, I think this was our last visit. This once-exceptional spot has sadly become like any other diner. They used to make delicious potato wedges with unique flavors and spices, but now, they ve stopped. The charming patio, which was once a highlight, has become unbearably noisy due to a broken AC thats been left unfixed for several years. Its truly disappointing to see how much this place has changed. So sad.

This is THE spot to visit. The food is great, everything is seasoned to perfection and they are always great for food accommodations. My favourite dish is the tonys chicken club - great flavours and the shoestring fries are to die for!!! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, a truly one of a kind spot! Patio is clean and fresh. Boom breakfast exceeds my expectations and I love good food because I am French. But, the highlight of this cozy and comfortable place is the service. The waiters are attentive and extremely friendly. Boom breakfast will continue to be my choice number one for a delicious breakfast experience.

The short gray hair white lady who serves during Saturday mornings is rude and aggresive as hell. We waited for food for close to 30 minutes, and the restaurant was not even packed. I nicely asked her if the food is coming soon, and she was so aggresively saying well its weekend and its busy with the attitude look. Too bad other staffs were nice but this lady is super mean and now I am not going back or recommend because of her.

This is a spot my daughter and I go for brunch now and then, but I am not sure I want to come back. We went today for lunch at 1 pm and we got a table right away. The place was not as busy as other weekends but still the food took a long time to arrive more then half an hour and after I signalled out our waitress. When I paid for the food and was asked how was my meal, I told the lady at the cash counter that it was ok but slow and she just said: oh, is normal with the Sunday rush. I feel they are using the same line, no matter if they are busy or not, no apology.

Wonderful food, excellent service with attentive and friendly waiters, especially Victoria, who not only served us very well but also suggested the burger that is one of the best weve ever had in Toronto. We loved the experience and will definitely be back to try other options.

Boom is an excellent, low-key brunch place with a few locations scattered around GTA. This was our first time here and we loved every part of it. It s unpretentious and the waiters were really friendly and attentive. At no time did we feel rushed even though there were a few groups waiting by the time we left. We both got the High Energy Omelete which had turkey bacon, roasted red peppers, and caramelized onions. There was a good amount of all the ingredients in each bite. It also came with some of the Boom Frites, which were probably the best potato wedges that we ve ever had. Not even joking. They were well seasoned without being overly salty and they had this massive crunch that I m sure the next table could hear and we bit into them. Our waiter came by regularly to make sure to top off our cups of coffee. We will be back again!

Came here at 12pm first , joined waiting list which was supposedly for 30 mins so we gave our numbers and went out. They didn t call us for 45 mins. When we called we were told to come in and for sure were seated. We ordered food at 12:55pm and weren t served until 1:40pm, that was again after checking about the status of our order. Our server forgot to note down the order for coffee despite checking with us on the kind of milk needed in the coffee. My BFF chicken sandwich had chicken nuggets stuffed, the kind I buy from Rabba for my 5 year old - it was a bad and greasy sandwich. So overall bad customer service and bad food. Not recommended!

Boom breakfast is my go-to after yoga class, I don t even eat gluten but I make the exception here for their incredible blueberry pancakes with warm maple butter sauce. The staff is warm and inviting, the food is delicious! Highly recommend

I love the place, environment, service, staffs and of course, food! Fresh meals with high standard quality of products. I ve tried many things on menu, but Chef s toast has my heart! Love the guacamole and perfect poached eggs. It ll always be my fav spot in Toronto for me the perfect brunch!

The staff is very friendly, service is quick, and the hot chocolate is very good (if youre a sweet tooth). I ordered the classic kitchen toast and I left feeling full and satisfied.

The rest of the food was just ok, but the peameal bacon didnt smell right...like it had gone bad. Could not finish the meal. Would not go back here, or would at least order something other than the bacon...

This restaurant has an extensive menu with any brunch item you can think of. The service was exceptional and while the food was not perfect, was quite good.

Im a regular and they treated me not very nicely today. I asked for medium pouched eggs and when she brought my plate over the yolk was running down all over the plate. i said nothing as i go there a lot. They havent been getting my eggs right for a while now, not sure why. The waitress seemed very unhappy from the beginning and picked up the plates while we were still having our last few bites. We still gave her 22% tip hoping that might brighten up her day.

My first time at Boom, Eglinton was on Dec. 27, 2022. What a great place. Extremely friendly staff and servers. The food was fantastic, fresh and the portions were huge. A family oriented place where it seems the owner knows every customer by name. I highly recommend this great breakfast spot and help support our local businesses.

The entrance to the restaurant isnt the prettiest, but the food served there is really good. The value for money is excellent. We were served quickly and in large quantities. I was very surprised by my meal, because I was afraid when I saw the general rating of the restaurant, but it does not reflect reality at all. Its a very good place for breakfast or even just a good dessert.

A busy diner with great staff, and a cute vibe! My food wasnt amazing (tasteless hollandaise, dry ham and fries) but my partner seemed to enjoy his food, and the Waitress we had was very lovely.

Had chicken and waffles. Chicken was a bit dry. A savoury sauce would be helpful to pair up with the chicken. Large portion sizes. Wonderful staff. Mango mimosa was delicious.

Good coffee good fries and good service but the eggs florentine were watery which made the English muffin soggy and the hollandaise sauce had no taste. My husband found the bacon hard.

This place used to have an absolutely lovely patio. Now there is something that sounds like an extremely noisy AC installed on their roof top which ruins the atmosphere.

Boom Eglinton is literally my favourite breakfast place! I ve been to the st.Clair location and it s not even half as good as this location. The food here was stellar and the service is some of the best I ve received in Toronto. Cannot recommend this place enough. The food was good! They kept rushing us. I guess because they close at 3 p.m. This restaurant is not really design to accommodate a large group. When the bill came I was surprised that they had included a twenty percent tip.

My go-to Breakfast spot! Specifically the Eglinton West location. They are extremely consistent, every time I go I know my food will be delicious and the service will be lovely. Was excited to try the place, but was unfortunately disappointed. The place was very noisy (how busy it is cant be blamed on the staff, however). The food - when it came - was also not what I expected. My eggs benedict had basically no hollandaise sauce, and the pancakes were undercooked. While I recognize this was likely due to how busy things were, it was still a shame. A saving grace was that the server brought some fruit to occupy our kid who was getting really overwhelmed by how noisy it was, so thank you for that!

Prices are slightly higher than I would like, but they aren t bad compared to other diners in Toronto. Other than that, everything is spot on; the food is great, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is classic but not forced.

Well, Im sad Im writing this, to be honest. Ive come to the Boom almost every weekend to have breakfast by myself. Its always a pleasant experience, the food is great and I like eating alone, what can I say? Anyway, I come in on a busy Saturday morning, I see people waiting. I ask the host if theres a wait-list I can be put on. She says For how many? I say Just one. She looks around and makes a face. She comes back and says they have large groups coming in so theres no space for one. Not even on the wait-list I guess. I textually asked so youre telling me to go away? She said yes, sorry. So here I am, hungry and sad, walking over to the Burger Shack, see if theyll have space for one.

I absolutely love this spot. I have been going here regularly for a while. The eggs are always so good no matter how they re prepared. The hollandaise sauce is so delicious I could bathe in it. The yogurt parfaits are noteworthy too. Everything is so reasonably priced and I ve never been disappointed with the food and the service is stellar too. Everybody is super friendly. Will be back again and again!

The blueberry pancakes are genuinely the best value Ive come across in Toronto vs their taste. Not at all dry and deflated. Unbeatable for the price. Just make sure you use pure maple syrup not the table stuff.

Came here for brunch and got an eggs Benedict and a smoothie. Everything tasted delicious and service was quick (but they also weren t super packed when I came). The staff here were very friendly and even when they were ready to close, they didn t force us out.

We have been going here for many years. Prices keep raising and food has gotten worse. We had a bad experience recently where there wifi was down and their debit machine and cc was not working. Apparently an ongoing problem in the area. Actually probably a problem with just your resteraunt. We offered them the cash we had on us but that was not enough and told us to go get money out of a bank machine. The owner was very rude and kept telling us this was not her problem no apologies just attitude We will never go back here again. Update to the owners response: Im sorry that your server was upset. We were too because of your hostility and rudeness. Maybe instead of sitting in the back room and allowing your server to deal with this difficult situation, you could have taken a more active role in dealing with this yourself instead of making your server deal with it. You did agree to pay my ATM fee, after I asked. This is probably something you should be volunteering to do for your customers considering how long this situation has been going on for. We have been coming to your resteraunt for years, literally since you first opened. The fact that you did not recognize us is evidence of how oblivious you are to your customers. In fact the last several times we have been in the food quality has taken a turn for the worse and the prices have gone up. The economy is bad but that does not give you the right to overcharge for sub par food. Reading over some of your reviews, it appears that this has been an ongoing issue for MANY months. It does not appear that any of the other business in the area are being affected by this crosslinx internet issue so maybe for the sake of your customers, you can take a more active role in finding a solution to your wifi issues.

Went to Boombreakfast on Eglinton for brunch on the weekend on a recommendation and I m so glad I went. The place has this nice diner feeling and when you walk in, you are greeted by a friendly hostess. Although it gets busy on the weekends, they try really hard to get you seated quickly. When we were seated, our server was both friendly and knowledgeable helpful when you can t decide what to have. I opted for the Monte Christo sandwich served with mixed greens. Now you can have it straight up or if you re feeling sweet a little maple syrup will elevate that sandwich to another level. My friend decided to try their Benny Boom, a smoked salmon Benny and you can have that served with their potato wedges or mixed greens. She went for the wedges and in her words the Benny was devoone . All in all a great brunch and we are definitely coming back. They have so many great dishes to try out. And everyone is so welcoming and that includes the owner who will drop by and say a hello. Oh did I mention that they also bake their own sweets? Absolutely amazing experience, recommending to everyone I know.

If only I could give zero stars. This place is such a disaster. During the pandemic we went a couple times to go sit on the patio and were turned away as they were too busy to clean the tables or there were too many flies, rain was expected, excuse after excuse. Called every time beforehand to check if the patio was open multiple times but no one answered. When we got there and complained that no one answers the phone upon arrival (they were open for takeout only), they retorted very rudely that theyre very busy. Went again today after months to give it another shot around 2:30pm as their website explicitly says their hours are 7am to 4pm, but were turned away as they apparently decided to close at 2pm nowadays and just havent bothered to update their website. My mom is elderly and has trouble walking and I live far away, so every time we get turned away, its much more than just a simple disappointment, its a waste of time and is tiring particularly for my mom. We love brunch, but have only managed to actually eat there once. Will definitely never return. Every time weve gotten turned away, we have ended up at Pickle Barrel, which is great, so I would highly recommend that place over Boom any day. Not sure if its the staff or the owner, but i hope they get their act together and stop blaming the pandemic for their poor service. Update: The owner has replied and has lied. We went twice last year and both times the patio was closed due to flies and potential rain. Also, we showed up at 2:30pm recently and were turned away, when the hours posted on their website were until 4pm. However in the owners response they say they are open till 3pm when the waitress told us they were closed at 2:30pm and advised that they were only open until 2pm. Make up your minds. Is it 2pm? 3pm? 4pm? So chaotic. Dont waste your time with this place

Great food, definitely one of my go-to places for breakfast/brunch food. And it doesnt hurt that they have a patio, especially during COVID. One complaint, though. The smoothies are terrible. Revamp your smoothie recipe, Im begging you.

Nice atmosphere when you step inside this restaurant, friendly staffs, cozy spot for weekend brunch. Various options to choose from including sandwiches, omelettes, eggs benedict, smoothies, etc. Ordered their signature BLT sandwich (claimed the best BLT sandwich in Toronto) with multi-grains bread (multiple choices for bread, only one option for bagel), signature eggs benedict called Benny Boom i think? And mango smoothie. Overall pretty decent food, however the eggs benedict are overcooked and turned hard, my friend ordered the coffee which she claimed just average, the mango smoothie likewise, not super refreshing, the BLT sandwich is indeed delicious.

**Visited in Aug 2022 ** We have visited this place few times pre-pandemic and its quality/service had detoriated since. Recent visit was a bit too uncomfortable due to a grumpy waitress. She was unhappy about some staff shortage and taking it out on the customers rudely . A couple beside ours with a toddler got spoken rudely and our service was pretty ordinary Food was cold and not as tasty. Good breakfast . 38$ plus tip so I left 50$. But frozen macains potato wedges ?? I expect real skillet hash not pre seasoned macains wedges.

Food is always great

This place was so good. On the outside I would say it could definitely do with some renovations, but it also gives it the homey vibes. Don t get intimidated by the outside because it is so beautiful on the inside and the food is so good. My friend and I went and it was so cheap and the staff was so nice. The only thing that sucks is that there is not much parking and there is so much construction happening on the street. I will definitely go again and recommended it to everyone.

I dined at the Eglinton Ave West location for brunch. At 11 oclock, they were out of bagels which meant I couldnt order my meal of choice. For my second choice, the side that came with the dish was incorrect. When I asked if I could keep the incorrect side while they brought the correct side, I was told no. When they brought the correct side, the potatoes, they were cool to touch and few in number. At the end of the meal, we were waiting for the waiter to come for our payment but no one came. Eventually we read the fine print at the bottom of the bill that said payment must be made at the cash register. Overall, it wasnt a horrible experience but it wasnt a great one either.

If youre a vegetarian, its better to go somewhere else. They have limited options and didnt offer any substitutions for meats (like getting a different side dish instead). The vegetarian wrap was bland and served with squeeze bottle salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. Ambience and service was nice. Vegetarian options: No substitutions were offered (they declined the request) and the wrap was bland. I would recommend going elsewhere if youre vegetarian or with a vegetarian.

Wowie, best breakfast place in Eglinton. We tried chocolate monkey waffles and selfie omlette with brioche bread and boom fries. So good , great portions. The boom fries were so crisp, must try dish from their menu. I would definitely visit this place again for their fries.

I typically dont bother reviewing restaurants that I order from on Uber eats, but I have to. The frites are the best potatoes Ive ever had. So, so tasty! Love the power breakfast.

Overall we like their food.. However today ive placed an order online, first ever delivery that never made it to my house. I was having a nightmare on how and what to do. Madeline their waitress I presume or just the ladt who answers the phone, she was ao kind enough to help me out and take out her own uber app to help my navigate. Im finally satisfies with my refund. I will try to order again by any means cause I enjoy their food. Hope the family that recieved my food enjoy it at a free charge!! God bless madeline :)

Fantastic! The food is really good, the place is nice and the people very friendly. I think in summer they have a patio so can be perfect for sunny days!

Went in for a brunch with my daughter after getting the COVID vaccine next door. The brunch burger and the chocolate monkey waffle were excellent and Isabel is extra nice. Even though it s right at Eglinton, the back patio is quiet and nice, surrounded by trees and natural shade.

Really good place! Back patio is cute, Isabel was a helpful, friendly & funny server, eggs Florentine were perfect, home fries are INCREDIBLE. The waffles are amazingly fluffy but also crisp, wish the portions were a bit bigger for them though. Would come again :)

By far the worst dining experience since Covid. It all started when one of the workers yelled at my four-year-old son. He was outside standing in front of the door and she came out to give food to the Uber driver and said watch where you re going in a nasty voice. Then they made us wake up my one-year-old baby because they said no strollers were allowed on the patio. They escort us to the patio and the first thing we saw was another stroller. My Son was crying the entire time when he could ve been sleeping during our lunch. Then the waitress gave us a hard time for adjusting the umbrella because we shouldn t touch anything due to Covid and yet they couldn t clean the bathrooms. The food was OK but I have never experienced a more unfriendly hostile environment. Boom! Regarding the owners response, I dont understand what shes referring to regarding compassion to other human beings, but she certainly did not act compassionately when she yelled at my 4 year-old son when she could have simply asked him nicely to move away from the door. I think it is a cop out to blame Covid for your restaurants lack of hospitality and to suggest that your harsh tone is the result of a focus on safety. If it is true that workplace culture tends to stem from the example set by its leadership, I now understand where the unfriendly attitude is coming from.

This spot gives a welcome to my home, eat more, eat more feel. Friendly service and delicious food. Service is prompt and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended! Always a pleasant visit every single time!

Went here on a Sunday morning. The line management was terrible and had to waist an hour before being seated despite tables being free. The hostess wouldnt even ask if anyone wanted to be seated outside and everyone ended up just being stood up under the sun and the tables left open. Food was OK but nothing amazing. Sausages and fries were nice but the breakfast steak was extremely dry and chewy and the waffles were mediocre. The coffee was also very bland and they charged for milk which is odd. Overall we paid 120 for 5 people which is rather expensive for the quality of food and service we received I wouldnt recommend this place.

Best breakfast place I have ever been. The food here is very simple and dont expect for anything fancy. But the chefs are amazing and its delicious. After you order the food will be on the table in less then 20 min!! Thats a big bonus. Ive been here 3 times now and its my favorite places to go for good meals. The service there is also fantastic, there friendly and polite. Prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of food. Dont forget to tip them well cuz they all deserve it. Id have my breakfast or brunch here rather then anywhere else and pay good tip instead for going anywhere fancy and paying more for the food and less tip.

There is not a better home fry in the city of Toronto. Staff are the nicest, friendliest Ive ever met. Prices are, frankly, cheap considering how high quality the food is. But dont listen to this review, this is my weekend brunch place, I dont want you taking my table!!

Food... no way. Waitress? Nice, kind. Customer Service? Rude, no care. Answering to your reply: I wish your business can fly, but my review stands. It was told that you couldnt run the Moneris while I was already eating. And I told that I could pay only by credit card, first because under pandemic no cash is ever used, secondly if I had cash on hand for my own business and I just kindky asked to come back later to pay by credit card you should find a solution, you said that cannot and you wanted me to walk a block to use an ATM. So, finally you won to made pull my paper bill from my wallet that I use from my own emergency, I just suggest you to BE BETTER. Be polite and seek for solutions to make the customers happy. Cappuccino? Change coffe brand. You can make it! Just with some extra efforts. Good luck. Pancake was good!

The first time was good I like the ambiance , the second time was ok , but this time service was ok , what I notice is the server didnt have enough time to clear tables even though the place was not busy , but needs a better action plan between floor management and server to satisfy customer demand

Delicious food with a big menu to choose from, decent prices too. Friendly staff. You can park in the community parking next door for $1/hour.
