Decor and drinks were nice. The plate was very very sparse. My partner and I both left still hungry. A lot of empty space on the plates and even half the space is filled with just salad. Extremely overpriced for what you're getting and compared to nearby brunches.
Outside eating is the best way to dine here. The staff are so quick with orders and helping in whatever you need, super friendly. The food came fast than I expected even with all the other customers, everything we ordered was better than expected and all are reasonably priced. Definitely want to come back and try the smoked salmon toast as I didn't want to try it before, but after seeing it pass by me I reconsidered (smelled and looked amazing). I will definitely be coming back as this little shop packs a punch!
Best breakfast I have ever had! So worth the drive all the way from Montreal. The staff is amazing and the owner is very hands on. We came back twice in the same weekend.Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend.
Overall it was good! The seating is cozy and limited. Friendly staff. Food was good, their cookies were great! Ditch the avocado egg toast and get the croissant egg platter instead. The Turkish breakfast is recommended too if u like sausages. Surprisingly, the baklava was warm and chewy and not cold and crispy… and priced similarly to the cookie.. so def go with the cookies ^^’ The side salad was AMAZING and sweet from the molasses added. Would come back for sure ^_^
I come here often, I try different menu items, always delicious, always great service. Nice patio and seating inside too. Great coffees with espresso machine.
My rating: 8.2/10. The highlight of this place for me is the location. Nestled right inside Kensington market with a great outdoor patio area, offering both covered and uncovered tables and backing on to the street, there are few nicer places to sit on a beautiful sunny morning in Toronto. The food and Turkish fusion aspect to it was yum, but the platter sizes were small by Canadian standards and the seasoning of the dishes left a little to be desired. The platters however were plated nicely and the cafe clearly knows it offers a very Instagramable experience. Staff were friendly and helpful but obviously very busy with only 2/3 of the for the whole cafe, and there were quite a few guests. I enjoyed it most of all for the location, and would go back, but it certainly isn’t one my favourite Toronto brunch spots.
Tried the Avocado toast platter and the grilled cheese, hibiscus tea & watermelon Found an egg shell in the platter, wilted cucumbers and dirty cutlery. The drink was not even full and a lot of it was ice. Avocado toast had 1 slice of bread, 1 egg and everything else was potatoes and salad. Could do so much better but sadly the experience was not good at all. Grilled cheese was great however.
The ratings of this place is not accurate at all. We ordered the first Turkish platter on the menu which was supposed to have beef sausage but they didn’t even give a whole slice of sausage but 3-4 circles cut. The bagels they gave wasn’t even a full circle of a bagel. And the picture on the platter menu had fruits but ours didn’t. The servers didn’t even greet us when we entered. Or bring us a glass of water even when she brought our food to the table. The next to us had 3 meals by himself and now I understand why because the portions are too small. We paid 27+ for the platter and even though we shared it, I am sure it’s still not enough for even one person. I was excited to check out this place as they said it’s halal. We did see water bottles on other tables.
The food is consistently delicious, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. The prices are fair and offer great value for the quality. Highly recommended!
Good flavours, a bit rough interior
Beautiful place for a brunch Dietary restrictions: Halal Kid-friendliness: Sufficient space
We enjoyed the breakfast
Great Brunch, the turkish plate was delightful!
Nice atmoshphere, beautiful people
The coffee is super good. If you like it non-burnt and least bitter (proper Arabica) then this is the spot to go. The Chocolate cookie is amazing too.
I love Middle Eastern food and eat it all the time and Turkish is one of my favorites. I found the presentation to be beautiful but all the food to be pretty bland.
Overpriced, long wait times to get food (close to 40 minutes), terrible service; no smiles, no thank you s, no positivity. No A/C/working fan, no blinds for the sun. We got the Turkish breakfast and the only great thing about it was the sausage and a cookie we got on the side. Don t know if they were just having a bad day or this is how it s like every time. Overall wouldn t recommend unless you have an hour to kill in the heat and want to try something new.
Its stated its the best coffee shop in Toronto - its hard to disagree. Flat white coffee was simply AMAZING, the one i am used to in Europe. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is super cosy when sitting outside. Would come back! Food : 5/5
Just wanted a coffee and that s what i got a perfect cup of coffee and barista was very nice and i felt like i was making her confused but she did a great job with the coffee. Will surely comeback with rest of my party.
Incredible representation of typical Turkish breakfast includes sucuk, menemen, best feta cheese, honey with kaymak etc Olives are authentic. Beautiful atmosphere and good service. They are working hard to make this place as well reviwed as it deserves to be. *Hoping those who understand the drops of Turkish words in this review will give Pera Cafe a try
Amazing little cafe with great breakfast options and fresh and delicious baklava and pistachio rolls. Turkish coffee is pretty awesome too.
Delicious! Make sure to try the Turkish breakfast!
Not worth the money spend .
Had brunch here: Americano and a smoked salmon toast which came with salad and roasted potatoes. It was all flavourful and well balanced. Sampled my friends sandwich (with their permission), so delicious! The staff is very nice and service is prompt. The environment is very welcoming, my only suggestion is for shades/blinds because the sunlight was intense through the large windows. Other than that, dont change a thing. I plan to go back and try everything on the menu.
This has easily become my favourite cafe in Toronto. I will not order a Mocha anywhere else anymore!!! The staff are so friendly and lovely and always remember me. Gives total part of the neighbourhood vibes. The service is quick. Prices are great. The food is unreal, there is seriously nothing I wouldnt recommend trying. I bring all my friends and fam here and will continue to do so!
I and my friend went there a couple of weeks ago. Patio was pretty cute. Food was extremely expensive for that portions. I dont think Ill dine in here again. I could eat in other places with same price, a lot more food and quality. It was nice though. Good experience.
The service was so bad and the food isn t that good compare to other Turkish restaurants I wouldn t recommend going there.
I was excited to have Turkish breakfast and the location is good but the food was below the expectation. The Turkish breakfast platter was disappointing to find the ratio of the menemen to the toast is not balanced and the service was not that good, it could have been better. Unfortunately, I wouldn t come again.
I am so disappointed with the food it was cold and doesn t not taste good at all. The staff was so rude as well.
Today I tried Menemen platter and It was so delicious. One of the best recommendation in Kensington Area.
The place is very nice, the food I ordered was very tasty, and the staff was very attentive. Additionally, the patio is a lovely space, perfect for enjoying breakfast. Also the cookies were delicious
Amazing food and great service!
The place is great if youre visiting Toronto, the food is delicious, and the staffs service is very efficient. I would definitely return to this place and recommend it.
The service is good, I loved the egg croissant platter and the coffee. I will return to try the Smoked salmon toast, which has been highly recommended to me.
food and service was super good
The place is lovely for breakfast and brunch. The coffee is excellent, and the dishes are fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!
I recently celebrated my moms birthday at Pera Cafe with my parents, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
The food was really good and the quality of de service was the best
The food and service are really good here! The cafe and the kind girls who work here are the best!
Great experience, few wait time and also treatment was great, whole service was really good.
I went last weekend with my friends and I really enjoyed the food and service!!
It is a very pleasant place, the breakfast is excellent, I especially loved the meleme, the desserts are very good, I definitely recommend you to go and spend time in this establishment, I left the place happy in every aspect
One of the best cafe for turkish patisserie and breakfast. Service was excellent, atmosphere is super cozy. Loved it and be back there again for sure.
This cafe has quickly become my go-to spot in town. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The selection of food and snacks is top-notch. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making every visit enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Great workers and Turkish food, and of course coffee is one of the best ones!!
I loved this place. Foods are so delicious. This place is my favorite for my Toronto trips.
I had been away from Turkey for a long time. I encountered staff and flavors that made me feel like I was in Türkiye. Everything was great!!
The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
The Avocado Toast Platter and Watermelon Hibiscus I had today at Pera Café in Kensington Market was the most enjoyable meal I ve had in a long time. Everything was wonderful, and I especially want to thank you for the warm smiles.
Brunch was amazing!
good service and everything delicious
Great place to have a new tastes!

I loved it!! Beautiful place !!!!!
Its has a very pleasant environment to go with friends
I ordered the avocado toast and it really looked really good. Very fresh coffee and uncompared service. Ill be back soon.
Nice!
Great place, great food, amazing service. :)
The price is completely worth it, the food was great
As a bagel lover from Ankara, thank you for making me feel in my hometown! I loved the breakfast
This is the place where you will eat the best desserts :)
I am a very picky and obsessive person. It got full marks from me for its cleanliness, service and friendly staff. We waited a while because it was very busy, but I plan to stop by often during quieter hours. Also San Sebastian was great Kid-friendliness: It has a quality environment to spend enjoyable time with children.
Fantastic. Great coffee
Very Good
Really good experience, went with some friends and the food and services where on point. We had a really good time.
Its a very cute café but I was very disappointed by the food. I ordered a simple grilled cheese with tomatoes and pickles, but it was the saddest sandwich I ever had. I also ordered a matcha latte which was OK, but nothing great. Service was pretty basic.
Nutella cookie and mixed chip cookie were so amazing! Chewy, tasty, perfectly baked! I didnt have the baklava and that will have to be next time!!
I really loved this place. Big and small breakfast options, Turkish coffee and tea. Desserts looked great.
Turkish style panini and cookies are yummy. Service is good.
The cashier/waitress was smoking weed in between and they all were rude/tired/angry for some reason Plus the Turkish bagels (simit) werent fresh they were thick as a stone Food
You should definitely try it. The service is good. The food is fresh.
Everything was very delicious and fresh. The employees are caring and friendly. Good luck
Pera Café is an amazing business providing a plethora of delicacies ranging from breakfast, brunch, and lunch menus. The business is well run, and Tugçe does an amazing job in making sure the cafe is clean, welcoming, and conducive. Their pastires are delicious, and their drinks are second to none. Internet connection is amazing here if you want to work out of the cafe. I would recommend Pera Café to anyone looking for a welcoming café to eat and work out off
Kid-friendliness: Lovely service, they were very kind to us and our kids. Food
Nice and quiet spot in busy Kensington - great coffee and friendly staff. We will be back soon!
Great service, very good tastes, they take care of the customers very well
The best coffee place of Kensington. The employees are helpful, friendly and warm. The foods and dessert are delicious. You should definitely visit here.
Food is fresh, olive oil added into the salad which is very tasty! I like it very much and will definitely come again!
Extremely UNFRIENDLY staff. We did not feel welcome and we did not stay!!
Really great service. Thank you. Food tastes authentic. Food : 5/5
The sandwich was good. And has a really good service. Ordered 5 plates only 3 came out and the other 2 were a bit late but the server made it right by giving us sweets for the small delay! Awesome service. Thanks for sweets
I had breakfast there and everything was incredibly delicious. The employees were n ce.
Brought mom and sister for breakfast. Good food, pleasant service they even gave my puppy water bowl
Potato
Nice little coffee shop with lot of space outside in Kensington Market area. Staff was very friendly and suggested me that I try their pistachio cookie - delicious indeed! Coffee was tasty as well - soy, almond and other milks offered.
Very good atmosphere.
Already a Kensington Market institution. Beautiful place with fantastic Turkish food and great service. Indoor and (covered and uncovered) patio seating. There s a reason it was written up in The Globe. The baklava is obviously amazing, but it s not the only thing!
Great brunch spot , the Turkish breakfast plate was absolutely delicious with a lot of options ! Definitely recommend this place
Nicely located right at the middle of the Kensington Market and next to Ozzys Burger. Parking is somewhat difficult to find at the market and driving there is tricky. Parking is a paid street parking. Coffee (i had flat white) and Nutella croissant tastes amazing, the Nutella croissant was really sweeeet thought. The cafe provides a variety of choices in pastries and has baklava. Its perfect for a quick brunch and/or a light lunch. Indoor seating and patio available and the cafe wasnt crowded around lunch time. The staff were nice and friendly. Service was quick and efficient.
One of my fav places for brunch in downtown. Very tasty, flavorful food and friendly staff ! However, there is not enough seating inside ! Food
Such a lovely spot in Kensington Market. Food and service were excellent! Perfect place for a meal or snack! Definitely worth a visit!
lovely place.. they customized food as per my request.. good portion for the cost..only problem was the person in the cash counter.. had a cold face in all 3 interactions. felt as if she was doing us a favor by serving us.. must be a one off day..else why such great reviews overall.
Unfortunately; and due to the fact that it is located in a touristy place in Toronto, this was a way below average experience for me. However; if I have known how it operates and what to expect maybe the experience would have been better. The service is still very good; but food, ambience and overall experience was a disappointment. If you live in Toronto and do not care much for being in the hip Kensigton Market don t bother; the city offer WAY better breakfast places.
I love this place!
The menu offers a variety of breakfast plates and paninis, alongside a wide selection of espresso-based coffees and numerous dessert options. I particularly enjoy their San Sebastian/Basque cheesecake and Tiramisu which I prefer to pair with an iced Americano. The customer service is exceptionally polite and the price-to-performance ratio is outstanding. Thank you for everything.
Delicious.
Parking situation is eh but would 100% recommend and come again. Food was fresh and tasteful. Coffee was beautiful and balanced. Halal as well. Great atmosphere
Quarter of a simit for 22$ platter is just funny Quality of this place got so bad
Its not real Turkish taste.
Lovely cafe with one of the best patios in Kensington and friendly staff. Highly recommend the roast beef and smoked turkey sandwiches. Cheers
The Best breakfast in the city! Breakfast plate was phenomenal. Definitely will come back !
Friendly service
Very friendly service and the egg croissant platter is very delicious. Highly recommended
Warm and modern turkish café Delicious menu, best customer service in Toronto Food
such a lovely place. quality food and nice staff.
we eated turkish breakfast and it was awesome also we loved lemonade very kind staff and good decorated. definetely we will visit again
10/10 experience! The food, service quality and the cafe itself is outstanding. I definetely recommend.
The food was great!
Went to this place on a Saturday morning. There is not much space and not many tables available to sit inside. There is no service from the staff, you have to go to the cashier and order. No one asked us after if we need anything. Food is okay nothing special just classic Turkish breakfast and when we went around 11 the Menemen platter was not even available. Overall, a chill place and good food.
Really great dishes!
Lovely iced coffee and big breakfast sando for only $20. Sandwich was liberal on the ingredients and the chorizo spice complimented the pickles. Lovely seating area on a quiet road. Took 25 minutes for my sando to come, other people who ordered food after got food was before and I had to chase. Must of forgotten, not a busy day. Would come again as long as I m not in a rush
Follow @bredgyeats for yummy food pictures! Started with the Turkish Style Panini - Buttery toasted basic panini bread, with havarti, beef pepperoni, sausage, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayo and mustard. Overall flavours are well balanced but lacking some filling. Then finally, my favourite part, sweets. Cheesecake done two ways, both resulting in a tangy, creamy dessert thats not too heavy or sweet, my preference going to the Basque version for its gooier texture and more complex flavour profile from the browning.
Food decent. A bit pricey. Great service and very cute.
Pretty pricy place but super kind workers! June 7/24- at around 9:00 I came and asked if I could use their P house, without purchasing anything yet they allowed me to! I offered to buy something but they didn t make me! In the end I got a couple compliments and P house privileges! I ll make it up to you, hug promise!
I recently had one of the best breakfast experiences at Pera Cafe. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff made a great impression. The outdoor seating area is a gem, offering a relaxing ambiance perfect for a morning meal. We sampled a variety of items from the menu, and not a single dish disappointed. Our beverages included a rich Mocha, traditional Turkish tea, and a perfectly crafted cappuccino, each providing a unique and satisfying taste. The food was equally impressive. The Shakshuka platter was flavorful and hearty, while the Avocado toast platter was fresh and beautifully presented. The almond butter toast offered a delightful combination of textures and flavors, and the cheesecakes were simply divine, making for a perfect ending to our meal. Every aspect of our visit to Pera Cafe exceeded our expectations. The quality of the food and drinks, coupled with the exceptional service and charming setting, has undoubtedly made this one of our favorite places. Whether you re looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a coffee or a full breakfast, Pera Cafe is a must-visit. We ll definitely be returning to savor more of their delightful offerings.
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at how good the Turkish breakfast and cheesecake were.
It s a sit down restaurant but you have to order from the front first, which is funny because the place is way too small to even stand. Overall, had better Turkish food and service.
Delicious food experience, everything is fresh , coffee is delicious, service is friendly. The place is small but cozy and clean. It will surprise you and definitely worth trying it!!! Food
Delicious sandwiches and coffee
Best coffee and food from kingston market
This cafe has definitely become one of my favorites, it is small but has tables outside where there is a heated dome if it is cold , I ordered the Turkish coffee and the breakfast plate. Everything was very delicious, the coffee came with assorted nuts, and the breakfast plate was balanced with honey, black olives, sausage, bagel and salad and cheese. I loved the place and the food, I will be a frequent customer here.
Patio is nice
food was okay but everything was extremely expensive
Staff was very efficient. The food was good, nothing too special but still good nonetheless. Drinks were delicious though!! Seating inside the cafe can be a little tight, I imagine their outdoor seating was probably more spacious. Otherwise, great experience overall! Food
A gem. Superb food, unpretentious service.
Definitely a place u need to go! Lovely Owners and good Turkish breakfast, also try the Sandwiches with a çay (Turkish tea) !
Wonderful place, food and coffee were perfect, nice service
Super delicious The portions was generous The tea was perfect Food : 5/5 |
This is a lovely cafe I stumbled across while I was in the area. Its small, cute and cozy. The coffee was great, but their Nutella croissant was amazing. I usually dont load up on sugars at 8 am, but I am so glad I did it. The service wasnt the friendliest, but it didnt really bother me at all. The lady at the counter smiled, charged me and brought me my food. I am not huge on small talk anyway. I will come back here for more of that Nutella goodness.
Beautiful patio! Very nice French seats! Delicious Turkish coffee, they serve complementary nuts and Turkish delight with the coffee. An absolute must have. The patio is dog friendly. Also, the people who own and run the cafe are wonderful and very sweet.
Got the sandwiches, tastes amazingly fresh! But the presentation could be better :)
Very aesthetic and calming, but limited seats. Still loved the food and staff + vibe !!
Lets tackle this review systemically __Food__ We got 2 drinks the house-made lemonade and turkish coffee. Lemonade, my personal preference, did not appeal. I think others could enjoy this taste, but not me. Looks wise, I didnt like the presentation, was expecting some mint leaves and a slice of citrus like the picture, but neither was given despite the $7 price tag. Turkish coffee, tasted like the coffee grinds were still in there. Presentation was nice, but the execution was poor. Was expecting a smooth, strong, clean Turkish taste, but ended up chewing on coffee grinds... 1/5 __Service __ When we went to the counter the cashier was chatting with a friend. She made us (only 2 in line at the time) wait until her conversation naturally ended. Its ok we get it, people have friends these things happen from time to time, but still not the best first impression. Only after the friend left were we given menus to make an order on the spot. We initially asked to order the hibiscus watermelon drink. The prompt reply was We dont have that., in a very direct and unapologetic way. This response couldve been done better, either with a Sorry, we dont have that anymore or a Thats not available right now. 1/5 __Atmosphere __ Its Kensington-Market. Either you love it or you dont. I like it, its really nice and different from the rest of Toronto. This place, the ran-down, poorly maintained, crammed and cozy aesthetics: 5/5
BEST BRUNCH EVER !! Service was incredible, they are warm people. Food was amazing, I ordered the smoked salmon, the combination of the flavours was exquisite and also the presentation was amazing. The place is so beautiful, everything organized. If you are coming to Kensington Market, you should visit this amazing coffee shop !!
Adequate seating indoors and outside (be kind to staff when asking them to clear outdoor tables for you to sit down). Mocha latte was delicious, chai tea was actually a teabag from Genuine (popular tea brand nowadays but I don t love it personally, I love authentic chai, you might still enjoy the tea however!!) and the outdoor covered area was quite warm. Some groups were hot spotting and doing laptop work. They had tote bags for $20 and branded grocery bags for $5. Cute spot!! Parking: Lots of street parking available Kid-friendliness: Yes bring your kids! Lots of room for them
We visited this place during a long weekend for brunch. It s a very cute spot in kensington market and I believe they are fairly new. We were excited because we love turkish food and the breakfast itself was good but unfortunately the service was very slow. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our food and they were clearly understaffed. They should have a better system in place especially for weekends. The table next to us waited almost 40 minutes for a simit which needs absolutely no preparation. Everything took a long time, even for our table to be cleaned so we can be have a seat I hope they would improve in service and time so we can visit again.
I really like their Turkish style. They serve Chai! Very nice.
Really cute cafe the food and coffee is really good I like eating outside under the tent.
Great freshly handmade breakfast.
Super cute little restaurant with a gorgeous morning sun patio. Food was excellent
The Smoked Turkish Sandwich is 10/10. One of the best lattes I ve ever had in the City
The culinary experience was superb, complemented by a pleasing ambiance. The establishment exuded cleanliness and charm, fostering a serene dining atmosphere enhanced by subtle background music. Two out of the three dishes I sampled were exceptional, further adding to the overall satisfaction of the visit.
In the heart of the market. Small bright space with additional covered patio outside. Cappuccino had good crema and robust flavour.
Cute and cozy spot with a ton of natural light and airy atmosphere. The service is friendly, and the food is excellent - love the breakfast platters! Will be going back soon to try to desserts which look amazing.
Food was great but very less quantity for the price I paid. Not worth the money.
i was not asked about any utensils or given them which is kind of disappointing for a $20 order.
Great food!
I am in love!!! Been wanting to try this cafe and they do not disappoint. The simit (turkish bagel) sandwich is warm, crispy and full of flavor with fresh fillings. The basque cheesecake that many talk about lived up to my expectation; so smooth and creamy with the perfect cheesy flavor. Also, the workers are really nice and the ambience is so lively, perfect for brunch. Definitely going to come back!
Stumbled on this place and what a lovely surprise. We ordered two brunch dishes. They were so good we ordered another bagel on top. Plus we added a couple of cookies to our order with coffee. Chef s kiss to this place. We will definitely come again!
Drinks are good. Food is highly priced with less value.
Cute little Turkish cafe with great breakfast Turkish coffee and tea. The staff is very nice and friendly. Highly recommend. Food
Great turkey experience!
The definition of perfect food & atmosphere at Kensington Market!
The server/ barista were really unpleasant while taking the order when I was asking the girls something about the menu.
the cheesecake and smoked turkey sandwich were delicious. the owner was so sweet and went out of their way to make our experience even better, overall a really cute spot!!
The food is a bit expensive I think although it is delicious ,other than that the place is very small .
found this place while walking around kensington. Service was excellent and food was great! thank you
I came by for the first time today. I had the turkey sandwich, Turkish tea, and a slice of cheesecake. The sandwich was delicious. The tea was superb. And I devoured the cheesecake. I think it was their Spanish cheesecake--very very creamy. It was recommended by the owner, who was lovely. Will never go to cheesecake factory ever again. Heard great things about the creme brulee cheesecake--will need to try this next time. This is my new favourite cafe! Staff was very friendly, certainly a welcoming atmosphere. The washroom was clean. I highly recommend checking them out!
I had a very odd experience compared to other reviews. I don t know if these guys were working overtime or not compensated for their family day work. But there was something in the air. Everyone was unpleasant and angry even with simple questions such as Is it ok to sit here? Or exchanging pleasantries such as thank you . Me and my friends did not argue or discuss. But the employees here made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. They also seemed very upset when we asked for our ordered Turkish tea (which was not served till later in the meal after asking for it). The food was tasty I cannot deny. But the service made this experience very unpleasant and I would not come back. This place can do a lot better in terms of improving the guest experience, the food and Turkish bagel were good.
I prefer for breakfast on the weekend. By far the best oat milk latte Ive ever had is here. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience.
We chose this place for breakfast with my friend. Everything was great, the staff was very polite and attentive, I definitely recommend it.
