Ive been coming here since I was a baby and I go here every sunday. I love everyone there and the service is unmatched. Not to mention the best pancakes EVER. the whole place is just warm and cozy and perfect for brunch. Kid-friendliness: They are SOOO nice the my baby brother and they have even memorized his name

Our server, Olive was friendly and made great recommendations (so glad I had the huevos rancheros, eggs cooked perfectly, REALLY good cheddar, fresh and nourishing. Quite possibly the worst breakfast Ive eaten in my life. French toast that was cardboard dry and tasted like old frying pan. Sausages that seemed like theyd been cooked last week and had such a tough skin, cutting through them was difficult. Forty one dollars for one French toast order, an order of French toast with scrambled eggs inside, the leathery sausages and one grapefruit juice. Poor value. Truth is youd be better off eating at Tim Hortons across the street. Avoid this place. One star for the outdoor dining option

Goat cheese omelet, pancakes, and home fries were all excellent.

Went there for the first time today, and it will be my last. The portions are very small, and very pricey of what you get. With the french toast, it was only 2 slices!! In other restaurants you get 3 slices. And the sausages were disgusting

Very upset leaving this place each time. I have been there 5x. The last one was the worst. It looks family run, so I keep going back, because it isnt loud and crazy and really the only place I can find in the surrounding area... I keep hoping they will get their act together. They dont. The food is mediocre. Here are some of the cons: They see you, tell you to find a seat, dont come to take your drink order for sometimes 10 minutes, 5 is the norm. The potatoes are overseasoned and inconsistent. I got Burned pancakes and old and cold bacon this last time. The same time as the hair in the coffee mentioned below. On one occasion, I ordering well done eggs and when I asked for them to make sure, he told me if you ask for well done well make well done. My eggs came gooey inside and left on my dish. They didnt even ask why when they took the dish. Again, no one came to check on us. They never come by to top up coffee. My boyfriend got a hair in his coffee and since they never came to check on us, didnt get a new one and didnt get any. They walk by your table without checking in even once. Been several times hoping for an improvement once they recognized us, but it got worse. Waitress brought another tables food with her to our table (they were the table behind us). She held it at my head level (while sitting) and would have hit me in the head with the loaded dish had I not moved quickly and dodged it! The plate still brushed the side of my head! Then she served it to the other table! All the while she didnt say a word - completely unsanitary and disgusting to operate a restaurant this way. Water, sometimes it comes, sometimes not. Its NOT busy. There are 3 tables at most. I was giving 3 stars out of kindness but boyfriend suggested 1 star because we have given them enough chances. We wont be going back unfortunately. At this point it just seems they dont care.

Its just delicious its kind of homemade food. Definitely come back when we are in Toronto

I ve never seen a restaurant use the heel of the loaf to make a sandwich.

So expensive for the tiny portions you receive. One small vegetable panini, a side of toast, and a side of home fries cost $27. Vegetable panini was bagel sized and the sides were not large either.

Always nice presentation- good service but short staff. They are looking for help. Girl was busy serving guests and preparing take out orders. Check out their specials Vegetarian options: Florentine omelette is fantastic

The outside seating is available as well as inside the restaurant. Such a nice spot for breakfast and lunch! Great meal on a cool day.

Ordered from Skip. The side if fruit was put in the box on top of the sandwich. The fruit was also dried out and not very good. The sandwich was slapped together and the meat tasted old. Sad

Gonna be harsh because I actually want them to do well as one of the only brunch spots in Roncy. The dishes were quite sad and sparse. My huevos rancheros was flavourless. If you re not going to give quality, at least give better quantity. Unfortunately, that wasn t the case either. The portions are tiny and I left hungry. Server was very kind.

Came here for an early morning breakfast. Loved the fluffy pancakes, they melt in your mouth. Service was quick and efficient.

Extremely overpriced for what it is. I used to go here all the time for a basic breakfast, nothing fancy. Now the food quality has gotten worse and the prices have gone way up. $15 for burnt sausage and eggs with bland potatoes. $16.50 for a western omelet. Not worth it. There are so many better restaurants in the area for the same price. The server was very nice so I gave it a star for that, but I will not be coming back here.

I really like this little spot in Roncy. Great service and food. The eggs Blackstone is my go-to. Nice patio out front for the warmer months. Definitely worth a try if you re in the hood.

My last visit was less than ok. I never expected much from this typical greasy breakfast place but my food, the heavy hitter seemed like it was warmed up instead of made fresh to order. The bacon was dry and old, the fruit that came with the meal looked like it was scooped from the bottom of a two week old jar. This place is a missed opportunity because there isnt another breakfast place in the area. It would do well if they just put a bit more effort into the business.

As a regular customer for years, I should have written this review a while ago. But it could also be a better time to write it now as the restaurant and staffs have managed to overcome the pandemic by continuously delivering high quality foods and services in normal, abnormal and unusually busy time. Irash and Mo are like part of the family to everyone in the neighborhood. Very friendly. Special credit to Lindsay despite being the youngest, who demonstrates great leadership in managing the place and helping customers and colleagues during the busiest time.

Just went into this place with my eight year old. Noticing there were no less than 4 empty booths open at the back she sweetly asked the gentleman Could we please sit in a booth? to which he replied This is the only table I have got you. pointing to the table closest to the drafty door (why this would be the only table available for us is beyond me..... in addition to 4 open booths there were 3 other open tables. It was NOT busy). I honestly thought he was joking at first, like old men do with little girls and then was surprised to see he was completely serious. When I told him that if he wasnt able to accommodate us wed go eat elsewhere he basically told me Do what you want. and walked away. I wanted to try to support what appears to be one of the only remaining small old businesses in the neighborhood but the attitude given to me and my child over not wanting to give us a table built for 4 in a restaurant with no line, and multiple open tables has ensured that they will never receive it, and hopefully whoever moves into that spot next is a little more inviting for the neighborhoods residents. The customer doesnt have to ALWAYS be right, but this gentlemans (I use that term loosely) attitude was completely uncalled for. We walked over to Loons and were told to take whatever seats we wanted.

I love this place. Great service, perfect amount of items to choose from on the menu, the food comes out fast, delicious, well priced, and they are wonderful with kids. They even have a little play area in the back. The best!

We (4) were there for brunch. Despite only selecting options from their menu (eg ham vs bacon), several errors were made and we had repeatedly ask waiter for corrections. Food was good. Good selection of fruit that accompanied some meals.

We had attempted to call last week to make a large reso for 30 people at 11:30am. The person we spoke to on the phone said that this would not be a problem but they wanted us to call back the day before our intended reservation date to make it. On Thursday afternoon we called the restaurant to make the reservation for 30 people as instructed to which we were met by staff member who informed us that this was ridiculous and that they would have to bring an extra staff on such short notice, and that we would need to all pre-order food. It was an interesting customer experience to say the least but since they were willing to accommodate our reservation we went ahead with our brunch plans and submitted our preorder. We were the only table there when we arrived but I will reiterate that there were 30 of us (a volleyball team and parents). Upon arrival the server did not greet our table she just asked for drink orders. We had sent in our preorders already but had accidentally missed our coaches! This was entirely our mistake but when we attempted to order a french toast and an eggs and meat type breakfast on the fly, we were told by the server that the kitchen would not be preparing anymore food for our group (no one had received their food yet, it was caught as soon as they sat down) It was shocking that they were refusing service to 2/30 of our large group. This happened at about 12:20pm and the restaurant is open until 3pm. This place has an open kitchen which we were sitting directly infront of and the line cook must have overheard this conversation and let us know he would be able to prepare these two extra plates for us. This was super strange so we re not sure if maybe chef said no more or the server just did not want to serve us anymore. The two on the fly plates were excellent so i can only assume they have wonderful food on a regular day, but multiple pre order plates were cold upon arrival. It was an overall uncomfortable experience for everyone involved as we felt like a huge burden to the staff and just wanted to leave. In the future I would suggest that this restaurant not take reservations larger than they can handle in turn upsetting their staff beyond wanting to even offer service to our group. Would not recommend this place for any table larger than 4 people.

I can tell theyre making an effort to improve service after many issues over the last few years and it shows. Quality of food has increased as well. Some things are prepped ahead of time and the prices have modestly increased comparatively speaking in the area. Overall a good brunch spot if you cant get seated at the Ace

Always a win for weekend brunch! The Mexican jalapeños omelette special is amazing as are the blueberry pancakes- you can t go wrong! Quant and cosy for a lazy weekend!

It was a great lunch at this small restaurant.

They are rare breakfast place around our area that open so early in the morning. Having a child who likes to get up at 7 a.m., sunrise saved me many times.

A classic neighborhood cafe with a good breakfast/lunch menu. Nothing fancy but quick and tasty. Better to come early in the morning as the patior is open to Roncesvalles so after 10am traffic can be very loud.

We were taking a stop at Niagara on the lake on our way to Toronto and wanted an outdoor venue for a nice brunch. Nothing fancy in this place was perfect. The service was very good. The food was well prepared and the atmosphere on the outside patio was great on a perfect sunny day. I had a vegetarian omelette, and it was prepared perfectly.

A little understaffed but servers still checked in several times. Solid classic breakfast and the berry crepe was good. Great neighbourhood to be in.

Home fries tasted like burnt herbs. The deep fryer needs cleaning. Eggs Benedict, 1 order of plain crepes, 1 tea, 1 coffee, 1 orange juice $53. Would not recommend. Will not go back.

The food was meh. The service was meh. The prices are ridiculous. The price on the website says one thing, then the price on the menu at the actual restaurant is higher, then finally the bill is even higher! Brunch for 2 people was almost $100...

Today I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast .The warm and cozy atmosphere. The ingredients were clearly fresh and high-quality.The staff was friendly I highly recommend trying it.

Sunrise Burger was just a frozen store baught burger. Fruit was also past its prime and bland tasting.

Super good portion sizes, an old timey diner feel, a perfect place to take your parents if theyre visiting you. But just like you dont expect to get a blizzard when you go to McDonalds dont expect to get a cold drink here as they dont have any ice.

Fast and well priced, the classic breakfast diner. I would go back, however I have to say as we discovered other options in the area, I am more inclined to go to those options if I want more eclectic breakfast fare. But if you want a classic diner breakfast. This is the place I would recommend.

Went here for brunch on Sunday with some friends. The food was excellent and the service was good. Medium-sized portions and average coffee. The freshly-squeezed orange juice is 10/10. Kind of expensive for what you get, but would definitely recommend if youre looking for a good breakfast place on Roncy.

My friend Karen and I had a great brunch today. We picked the Fruit cup which was the best I ve had for a long time: delicious fruits ( strawberries, pineapple, orange, grapes, ..) and yogurt ! There was enough for both of us to splurge on. The service is pleasant and the owner even came our table to chat. I highly recommend it.

Food was absolutely gross and over priced

It had been 5 years since I was here. Looked forward to my favorite veggie omelet. I was hugely disappointed to see it off the menu. When I asked the owner if they could still make me one, he refused saying that they didn t make them anymore and steered me instead to something more expensive that I didn t want. In the end I ordered a western sandwich where the egg was over cooked and the toasted bread was super soggy. To top things off the server gave lousy service and I had to keep asking for things. I m no longer disappointed that I haven t been here for five years as I ll never go back again. If you are looking for good value for your money, don t look here.

Tasty food for a decent price. It was busy but service was fast. Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free bread for a small fee. Most of their dishes can be modified too if you have intolerances. Kid-friendliness: There were a bunch of kids in there when I went. Im not sure if they have highchairs but they have a kids menu.

For a crepe place, this place has no crepes. The spinach and feta crepe, was not a crepe. It was too thick and greasy, and had only 2 walnuts and hardly any feta. For French toast, they charge an absurd price of $3 for maple syrup. They are unwilling to make *any* substitutes on their menu. Servers forgot about our table, as they seated us in a strange back room. Very poor atmosphere and experience. Vegetarian options: Few options. Not willing to substitute meat for eggs, etc. Dietary restrictions: No substitution on their menu period.

Not a pleasant experience unfortunately. i ordered scramble eggs, well, they were not scrambled at all, but they brought me some flat like tortilla base bottom burnt flat thing. terrible flavour. I had to send them back. I ended up having just coffee and toast for brunch. extremely disappointed. my friends bacon and eggs were bland and not even looking appealing to eat. service was not great either. I am not coming back to this place. it seems they dont try hard.

Waited 35 minutes for breakfast. When I finally got it the 3 eggs were the size of one large egg. Also the home fries were burnt. Apparently its a common thing as the waitress told us. $20 for the large breakfast not worth it.

Dec 17 2022 Decided to take my wife for brunch today. It seemed like a nice choice considering we were in the area for a few other things. My wife ordered the Special: Spinach goat cheese omelette. And it was quite special. So special that the omelette came charred. Too bad we did not take any photos. Same with the home fries. She could not touch it as it looked disgusting. She tried to have a bite of the omelette but put the fork down after the first bite. It just felt like if was done a while back and just reheated before handing it to her. However, it was charred all around. I ordered the Chocolate crepes. They were edible but They did not seem fresh at all and certainly they were not hot. When you have fresh made crepes they are normally hot. I ate crepes at many places as if is one of my fav brunch food but never tasted that old . My question is how is possible to get the food in just 3 minutes after we put the order in. Although it is nice to get your food fast, i would gladly wait 20 minutes for great quality food versus getting bad and fast. Something was not right and i hope this is just an isolated case as i had much higher expectations from this place. We took note and will never eat here again.

I highly recommend Sunrise Grill. Friendly staff and great hamburgers. My husband and I have really enjoyed their take-out food during the pandemic.

Really good local spot. The food is great and the service is excellent. The staff really take pride in making sure you enjoy your meal and want to come back. Ive just been getting food to go recently, but its my preferred breakfast spot in the area and hope theyre allowed to open up again soon!

Went for a quick breakfast this morning with friends, Service was really slow, presentation was not good at all. Usually, we take pictures for Instagram but didn t feel like taking it at all so just imagine how it might be.

Cute place with a more diverse and flavourful menu than your standard breakfast joint. Huevos rancheros were delicious but the avocados in the dish tasted off, which was too bad! Good portions, good coffee, slightly slow service despite signs enforcing a 30 minute seating limit.

Do yourself a favor and eat here, both breakfasts were delicious, the wife had eggs bene, and I had the Mexican omelet, maybe one of the best omelets Ive ever had, the wife said the same about hers as well. I would of 5 it, but the patio was small with alot of tables crammed on it. Will be back forsure!

We just had lunch at Sunrise Grill and Crepe. The five of us were so impressed with our meals. With brunch style meals, I often rate establishments by the quality of the home fried potatoes. These were excellent! I highly recommend this place. I will be back. Lee M

Mediocre service, mediocre food, and their sanitization practices are non-existent. Asked for water and a latte; received no water, and my latte was 95% milk (whole) - little to no espresso in it at all, and one came to check on our order. I then got the Sunrise Benedict, which came with the smallest poached eggs on virtually untoasted muffins and absolutely flavourless potatoes. I could correct the latter with ketchup, which I then watched them take from our table and drop to another right away without even wiping down; this is mid-pandemic, so I can t imagine how seldom their salt, pepper, and other condiments are sanitized. Someone walked inside without a mask and they didn t even bat an eye, so don t come here if you re expecting a safe or satisfactory dining experience.

Solid breakfast. I have enjoyed the Benny, the standard breakfast but the huevos rancheros is dull and not worth ordering, my kids love the chocolate banana crepe .. what kid wouldnt, always too much for her to finish...

Mediocre service. The server rushed us out. We were probably there around 30-40 min lol. The cappuccino was okay I liked it. Food was alright, I had a steak sandwich and only liked the steak. My date liked their meal, however was also disappointed by the service as well. Didn t get water, had to ask. Probably won t go back just because there s so many other nice places with better service but I guess if you re in the area or looking for take out it s not too bad.

Had breakfast yesterday on their cozy front patio. It was national waffle day so i went with waffles. Had their omelets and huevos rancheros before. Everything delicious

The server was so bad. She is so unprofessional. I guess she was a just girl who was server. But it wasnt my problem. We ordered two kids pancakes for kids. But only one came. So I asked them we ordered two of them. She said you ordered one. Than she left even she wasnt looking at me. So I was try to talk to her, she yelled at me. What!? Its coming!! Did I do something wrong?? Maybe I ordered one of them. But she didnt have to yell at me front of every costumers. I was just asking as a costumer to her as server. The cook guy came to us, he asked us one more pancake. She brought it and say its no change. So did I have to appreciate?! She never come back to ask us is everything okay or what we need. She just glared at me. I was so disappointed because we wanted to have just family lunch there. She didnt say anything like thank you or have a good day when we left the restaurant. The cook seems he is the one owner he didnt say anything. I guess they are family business. We wanted to help to local businesses. But we will never come there. I hope they will get a new professional sever or at least who will do their job.

Fantastic place for brunch or breakfast. It is a family owned business and it is obvious they take pride in what they do. Its not super fancy but the food is delicious with some very creative dishes.

I would have given it 3 stars if the service wasnt so bad. The food was okay but overrated and overpriced... expected for this area, but was very disappointed. Not going to bother going into detail, see for yourself if you want. Very unprofessional, just not the level of professionalism you would expect for a place that charges double what they should be. Im positive that other people have better experiences and impressions of this place so yeah totally see for yourself, but if you want my honest recommendation: dont bother, try somewhere else. There are plenty of support local intending people to keep a place like this in business.

One of the best brunch spots Ive been in Toronto - down to earth feel, amazing home fries, and quick service. I had the eggs benny and they totally nailed it. I also got to try a bit of the Mexican scramble and it, too, was perfection. Will be back for sure to try more :).

This is my favorite place for breakfast. They are friendly and the food is served fast and it s delicious! They are open for take out during the Covina-19 pandemic. Just picked up today s breakfast...Strawberry delight French toast and it comes with fresh fruit.

Excellent food, atmosphere and coffees/lattes. Staff are wonderfully pleasant and friendly. The German pancakes are delicious the breakfasts are plentiful and the coffees are really good. The outdoor patio is quaint. Great food and great service.

Meh. The Americano was made with a flavoured puck and was gross. The meal came out super quick (good and bad I guess) then they were lightning quick with the bill. Feel like Im being ushered out. The food though was ok. Eggs Benny with home fries. Not special, not terrible, it was ok. Sauce tasted good and the eggs were cooked perf. Expensive for what I got.

The owner is a lovely guy and the food is solid. A nice local dinner in the hood. We re lucky to have them still serving up great brunch

This place is definitely a hidden gem if you want great breakfast.

Decent food but barely enough of it on the plate. Not so reasonable price in relation to the food quantity.

Roncesvalles and Howard Park. Good breakfast ..brunch place. Right seating or booth with straight back. More seating in the back and small patio out front in summer. Kinda smokey due to open kitchen area. Food delicious and fresh. Big servings. Have high chairs. Wheelchair access might be a bit tight. TV screen. Background music. Busy Sunday mornings..but people usually come and go so there is a table available most of the time.

Burnt omelette with hair in it. And way over priced. Go to aris down the street instead.
