Join us for tasty breakfast or lunch made fresh daily. Friendly service and fast take-out! Proudly Canadian since 1985.
my friend and I arrived at the place around 11:30am on Sunday Dec 15 and it was busy. The girl gave us a table too close to each other’s table but it was okay. It took awhile to get our orders again it was okay because they were busy. When we ordered, my friend had BLT sandwich and I had Salmon, Avocado toast. Again it took awhile so I just kept on drinking coffee. After almost 20mins our order came and we’re so excited to eat because we were so hungry, but we realized we didn’t have any tissues and cutlery so I asked. While I was eating my order I just can’t really find the taste of salmon. It was almost half and there’s no salmon, so I asked the server and she said “ oh we’re sorry, we’re so busy that’s why the one in the kitchen messed up and then she asked “ Would you like me to replace it?” I was thinking does she really need to ask me after giving me a toast with like avocado dip spread on bread with lots of thinly sliced tomatoes, red onion and some feta cheese and cut olives on the side. I said, yes please replace it. It was replaced with a much smaller bread and some salmon on top. Not really a good experience for my first dining experience because usually we just order pancakes and take it to the office because I work close to this place. Now I will have a second thought to go back to this place. I hope they will improve their service because we pay properly and give tips, so we deserve a good service.
On Sundays, we usually dine at the Sunset Grill located at Yonge & Richmond which is consistently excellent each time. We tried this location and it was a major disappointment. The quality of the food/drink was not the same, surprising since it is a franchise. The orange juice was watered down, similar to frozen orange juice in a can. The bacon was very fat, ate about 25%. Potatoes were soggy, and not cooked on each side, and too salty. Eggs were bland and soggy.
If you’re looking for the perfect spot to start your day, also offers a delightful experience with hearty meals and a cozy atmosphere. Located in the heart of the city, this restaurant is known for its fresh ingredients, friendly service, and a menu that caters to every palate. The star of the menu is undoubtedly their classic breakfast platter, featuring fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, golden hash browns, and toast. Their pancakes are a must-try, served with a generous drizzle of maple syrup and fresh berries. If you’re a coffee lover, the locally roasted brew pairs perfectly with any dish. What sets this place apart is its welcoming vibe and the attention to detail in both food and service. The staff are attentive and ensure that diners feel at home, even during busy weekend brunch hours. The only downside is that it can get crowded, so a reservation or an early visit is recommended. Overall, this place is a gem for anyone craving a satisfying breakfast to fuel their day.
An OK place for some quick breakfast, food quality is a bit of to a lower standards since bacons are dry and overly cooked, 3 eggs looked 1-1/2 compare to a better restaurant Service and decor is nice
We waited an hour to get our food and was told they just opened the restaurant (but we’ve been here before?) while the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. Everyone was looking around cause they were also waiting for their food. Finally after receiving our food, I got what looked like 1 egg (I ordered 3) and undercooked bacon. They got most peoples orders wrong as they finally got food to everyone’s tables. I asked them to comp our juices at the very least which they were nice enough to do. But I don’t think they should have continued seating new customers or opened that day if the kitchen staff wasn’t properly trained. Food was still good and on par with sunset grill but just be prepared to wait and potentially get your order mixed up.
A cozy spot with great coffee and delicious breakfast options. I had the avocado toast with poached eggs, and it was perfectly balanced. Service was quick, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely return!
We ordered Sunset Super and French Connection with bacon. It was a good portion for the price and the taste was good. They gave us our check before we finish our meal and although we haven't asked for it. It was a one check for both and they didn't even ask us if we would like to split or go with one check for both.
Staff was amazing but food was lacking a bit. The server we had was really great, positive attitude and did so much! Amazing service, coffee kept coming without us asking. Staff was very tentative and made sure we had everything we need. We did not feel like we were rushed and felt that we were consistently serviced without asking. The food was a little bit lacking. Their "Light Breakfast" section was removed from the menu and some of our favourites were gone. The omelettes still looked decent and there seems to be more home fries than needed (was like half the plate). Not sure if it was this location for the compressed menu and too much home fries.. At least, we were still full and service was great!
I know this place recently reopened, but it seems like the staff is largely untrained. Especially in the kitchen. Ordered streak and eggs. The eggs were cold the steak was warm. The eggs, ordered over easy had clearly been sitting out for a while before the steak was done. Steak came (oddly) on a separate plate. Perhaps in a few weeks things will improve, but right now, I cannot recommend.
Jen was are Server and was amazing since it was busy being morning and on a Saturday
Service was a bit slow but overall a decent experience.
Sunset Grill is a deliable go-to spot with lots of tempting offers and excellent service! Convenient locations as well. Try the Canadian omelette or the eggs benny! You wont regret it!
This joint has small coffee mugs, so I had to ask for refills many times. The home fries were a bit soft, not as crunchy as I expected.
Kid-friendliness: Just one spot for a stroller Food
Never been to this location. I was impressed, very clean, and very friendly staff. Food was great as always. Loved the location. Dietary restrictions: I am Diabetic and I have food allergies. All of the sunset grills have been accommodating
Good food, good service, great price. Perfect place to pop into for a casual breakfast or lunchm
A quick brunch getaway in the city.
GREAT!
Had eggs and bacon. Barely warm fries, smallest chicken eggs I ve every seen, 2 tiny strips of bacon. It s inexpensive for a reason
Food here is so good
had it this morning, nothing was seasoned no salt no pepper not on the eggs or the steak or the burger. everything was so bland.
Love their food. I come to this location often. The best part of their menu is the food is reasonably priced, yet fresh, love their pancakes. And the staff has always been friendly and helpful.
The waitresses are very friendly
My first time visit the location, the food was good. Service was ok. I do love the sausage here, very yummy and not too salty. Recommend
Wonderful food for very reasonable prices. Its simple in the best of ways, as breakfast should be.
On the mornings where things seemed to be a little rushed, we always love stopping by for a filling breakfast. Have been coming here for years! Friendly staff and clean location
Limited options but amazing pancakes and fabulous omelettes!
Delicious! I was surprised to find this breakfast in the region. The ingredients are top notch, especially the eggs, the oozing yolk was tasty! Bacon was made to perfection.
It was a pretty standard breakfast place. My omelet was good, but it could have used more fillings, and perhaps a different side dish. Service was attentive, but the restaurant wasnt busy when I went. They had dark rye toast (a nice change) but only strawberry jam or peanut butter. I think a little variety would have been nice.
Classic diner eats done right. Wait staff is friendly and lets you eat in peace.
Excellent, I loved it!!!
Decent diner, good food, friendly atmosphere.
Two stars for trying... if you like potatoes this might be a place for you but not sure
Finally! Found a greasy spoon breakfast joint that still has halfway reasonable prices. Classic breaky and yummy!
Great front row seats for the parade on sidewalk patio
Easy simple all day breakfast
Solid breakfast food and super fast service. Staff is always friendly.
Ordered eggs with bacon and sausage cooked just the way I like. Great coffee Vegetarian options: Egg dishes offered some vegetarian choices Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant and patio are at street level
Wheelchair accessibility: No
Great place for a nice and simple breakfast. Staff is very nice and the Yonge and Bloor location is perfect for breakfast before shopping..
The staff is very curtious, friendly, simply amazing. The lady that cooked both my lunch and breakfast did a wonderful job. I clearly tasted the love that was put into making both. This is a great place.!!! You will not regret eating here!!!! Thank you ladies!!!
my wife and i met for lunch on Friday afternoon, she had a chicken club i had southwest chicken on the hamburger bun. immediately after leaving i started to feel stomached pain and throwing up. that last till 12pm Saturday and Im just able to leave bed to write this review cause the restaurant is now closed.
Greasy diner place okay when youre hungry
Had breakfast for 4 of us. Everything was quick and efficient and tasty. Prices are higher but not unreasonably so in the current environment. I have never been disappointed going here and I have been there A LOT
Dear owner, your Store manager there needs extensive customer service trainings courses..: please invest in that or simply hire someone who knows how to talk to customers. I ordered I take out, the waitress who took my order told me it shouldn t take more than 5-10 mins, it actually took closers to 20 mins. If I was told it would take that long I wouldn t have waited. So I asked the manager why the order takes that long she said well this is how it usually takes, if you wanted something quicker you are more than welcome to go to Tim Hortons. I told her it is my choice where I want to eat, if I was told an accurate estimated time for waiting for my take out. Thank you for the lovely experience. TIM HORTONS IT IS NEXT TIME . Maybe TIM Hortons should also give her commission for advertising.
Very good breakfast, great waffles and omelete, with coffee and tea being refilled, love it! Nice staff! Can only recommend :)
Good brunch. Ok service.
Fantastic staff beautiful food if I ever come back to Canada I will be sure to come back here.
The best breakfast in Toronto
It was not so busy but the order came so late, But the fresh taste and being delicious totally worth it.
Daily breakfast special ($6.99, available before 10AM on weekdays) and 3 eggs with turkey bacon ($12.99). Typical breakfast diner food, as expected, with decent prices and good portions. Pleasantly surprised that they had gluten free toast available, especially without extra charge. Good customer service!
Coffee mug is always full Generous portions
Nice food and nice service
Nice service by our waiter on the patio but the food was terrible and plain.
This is the worst Sunset Grill Ive been to. Staff was nice and attentive but the food was not very hot or fresh. The toast I got was the warmest part of my meal. 3 people at the table, food was served within 7 minutes of ordering, we all had the same issue with the freshness.
Great breakfast that has many options to choose from. I really love their orange juice so much. It was busy but the waitress was super sweet and made sure we were okay every second.
Good food, not expensive, nice people.
Best breakfast in the city. I feel like I am being filmed and wouldnt be shocked to see Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramse walk out of the kitchen. The potatoes are simply epic.
Clean. Very conscious of following COVID rules. Great service.
Fast service, great specials before 11, wait staff is really nice. Kadeem was amazing, and made my morning.
Always good everytime!
Speedy.
An easygoing spot to get a comfortable brunch for a decent price. Always has great service and great flavours
Standard breakfast fair for a chain restaurant. Nothing exceptional but also not disappointing. Service is good and they follow standard COVID protocols.
Poor customer service Had a table ready for us outside but then oh these people were here first and we had to leave. NEVER again will I honor this establishment. Rudest of rude behaviour
So pleased with our brinch meal and the courteous service. Also very impressed with the thorough sanitizing after each table left!
Very good
Good quick and cheap breakfast option
Consistently tasty brunches from here, always seems to be well run too
Very accommodating, good food, reasonable prices
Service and food was decent, giant roach I had to kill didnt set the mood.
Good people good environment
Great breakfast diner. Service is good, its not too loud and the food is very tasty, albeit a little oily, but its a diner, so what do you expect?
Great food and wide selection on the menu - great location as well. Amazing wait staff!
Third time here, great coffee and breakfast. There is a huge ventilation issue in this place, I barely can breath, every time I eat here have to go back home and wash all my clothes
Cheap and filling breakfast. $9.95 for 3 eggs, 5 slices of bacon, home fries and texas toast.
Always love coming here after an overnight shift! Reasonable prices, delicious food and superb service!
Love it here
Fast efficient service. My coffee cup was never empty and everything was cooked to order.
Looking for a great breakfast joint located all across Toronto? Sunset never fails. This location near Yonge and Bloor is a little smaller but very cozy. A large breakfast menu and spectacular all day breakfast. Service is VERY fast and the food is great. We chose three eggs with sausage which comes with thick toast, home fries. Add any of an array of sides - although four slices of tomato for $2.99 seemed a little bit pricey. Add unending coffee and our bill topped $30. Not too shabby. Another Sunset gem in our City. Guest WiFi also available.
The prices are great, the staff is friendly and the food is decent.
Nice breakfast place
Good and easy place for breakfast food. Just as you would expect.
The wait staff were lovely and the food was delicious
Food excellent but nowhere quiet to sit without servers or patrons standing over us constantly. A quiet table became free before we ordered and when we tried to move to it and were told that the people who just came in requested that table. Unimpressed. Wont go back to this location... will go to Frans next time in TO
Great all day breakfast thats a good price
Very
Love the pancakes with chocochips and maple syrup
I am pretty much a regular here for breakfast, going once or twice a week for quite a while. My timing is random, anything from 715 am to 12 noon. The staff are almost always polite, speedy and diligent. The food is good, and usually delivered within 10 minutes of ordering. They do on occasion run say pancake specials which slow down the kitchen. I very much like the 3 eggs with bacon and toast. ($13.5 for 3 eggs n bacon) The eggs benny is also good. I find the coffee hit and miss, some of my friends love it, I score it as 3/10 and on par with coffee time. A big reason why I give them 4 stars instead of 5. If you get there before 11 they even have a few specials.
I dont know if its because today was sunny and the weather was lovely, but I thoroughly enjoyed this place. The food was delicious, the waitress was friendly and the coffee was good. Would definitely come back.
Great location used to go all the time
Delivery food quality and portion have been gone downhill. A bite size portion of homefries and mediocre food in a giant plastic container but charge for $14.70 just not worth it.
Very nice clean and service ans amazing definitely recommend it.
Not a bad place near bloor and church. There is a public parking spot opposite street. 10 bux on sat and sunday for the whole day. I thought that was pretty neat for the area. The joint itself is very clean inside. Its a bfast place so service is good for the place. I ordered the veggie omelette with baby spinach and tomatoes and mushrooms. Pretty good. Cheers.
Super nice Ecuadorian guy was very communicative and had a great attitude. Reccomend this place
Seating always feels cramped as they try to fit as many tables and chairs in the restaurant as possible and the aisles become a little too narrow to navigate. Hard to stretch my legs at times. Otherwise, good spot for a brunch in the city.
CBC BROADCAST CENTER. METRO HALL RITZ CARLTON CANCELLED $4.99 BREAKFAST WITHOUT NOTICE AND WILL NOT INFORM YOU WHEN YOU ORDER BEFORE 11AM. ARROGANT AND THE STAFF SMOKES NEXT TO THE OUTDOOR PATIO MAKING NOXIOUS TOXIC SECOND HAND SMOKE IN YOUR DINING AREA. $4.99 IS POSTED ON THE WINDOW AND THEY REFUSE TO REMOVE IT
I don t care for this place as it is as basic as it gets. However it is an affordable breakfast option in the yorkville area, even cheaper if you go before a certain time.
The service was very good -- fast, friendly, and thorough. But the food was sub-par. Undercooked potatoes, huge clumps of onion and cheese in the omelet. For a dedicated breakfast place, I expect them to nail these basics.
Always great. It keeps the awesome level of food and service. One of my favorite place for brunch.
Awesome breakfast, really tasty food . I didnt get his name but really friendly staff when ever I went. A must visit and taste
Enjoyed my waffle also very slick service and coffee refills, Ill be back!!
Update July 2019: Seriously hungry for breakfast, I order the crab cakes with soft poached eggs. When an item on a menu includes the word cake, the last thing that should come to mind when the dish is served are terms like: pie, thin or flat. Served by a well organized and attentive Carlos, his only failure was to not steer me clear of the soft mush I was about to scoop up without the need for the steak knife it came with. The darn things weren t even crispy. My gentle Mother would have smacked the cook in the back of the head for she knew what crab cakes were all about. The spoon was of better use than the fork. As for said crab, well that would need a paragraph all its own so I ll spare you and just say this: Stay clear of the crab cakes. For 15 dollars, you will NOT be impressed and still be hungry. Luckily, they are only available for a limited time. *** Jan/2018. Steak & eggs done to perfection? Nice piece of meat, medium rare and well seasoned. So why doesnt it taste like anything? I scraped the seasoning off the steak and it was as bland as can be. A real shame. Well greeted by attentive Staff who follow through after the meal is served. Restaurant misses: A/ Main glass door entrance lacks power to be fully accessible for those in wheel/power chairs. B/ Mobility scooters, park em outside as the tight interior will leave you frustrated. C/ The aroma of grease from the kitchen invades your clothing and follows you around for hours after your meal. Note to office workers. Two hours doing errands in the morning air and it was still with me...my cat was never so happy to see me. The meal: Corned beef hash with eggs. Perfectly cooked eggs properly laid over the hash. Fine roasted potatoes and thick, Texas style toast with two jams so you dont have to bother the waiter for the constantly illusive second one. The hash was full of flavour but a tad on the gritty side. The restaurant is clean with good views of Bloor Street. All in all a fair meal for a fair price.
Average breakfast, nothing stood out!
Server was really nice and friendly. Breakfast was good even tho they were quite busy. :)
. Good morning Service was great And so was the food..The best crab cake benedict ever.
Food was ok but not good, and servers are rude
Sunset Grill is a great place for breakfast (they do also have lunch items as well). The food is good and fresh. Reasonable prices, good coffee and excellent service.
Food was good. FIX YOUR AIR CONDITIONING!!
Popular place ... easy access to TTC Yonge-Bloor steps away. Good menu.
Service was decent, but the food quality is low. Home fries were boiled potato cut up, barely fried or seasoned, and the fruit salad was a bowl of melon with maybe 2 strawberries cut up on top. $5 for freshly squeezed orange juice, but we can see the bottles of Oasis orange juice from my table, and definitely does not taste freshly squeezed. Breakfast sausages were good and eggs were average. Quality could be a lot better.
Place is really nice..the best pan cakes I ever had..fresh and fluffy
Good service, food was soso..
Good food. Few vegan and veggie options but there are some choices.
Fast service. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Yummy home fries.
I feel it is overrated. The food is subpar. Actually surprised by the high rating. Quite bland food. The staff is good though.
Fast, efficient service. Good food.
Wonderful time
Good food and service in good location
Sometimes you just want a classic breakfast and only bacon and eggs will do. When thats the case, this is the perfect spot. And when I say bacon and eggs, expect a full plate of bacon with 4 or 5 slices -- all beautifully lean and cooked perfectly! Joined a friend for a quick lunch hour and its the perfect spot to get quick, efficient service and enjoy an omelette, western sandwich or classic eggs dish. Very reasonably priced, friendly service and great good so a great affordable spot in a high rent district! Enjoy sitting out on the patio in the good weather!
Great food, well priced and super service
Very quick to sit you down and then forget about you. Home fries were undercooked. Salmon Egg Sunsets isnt as well made as other branches.
Sunset Grill is really very good in Pan Cakes.
Great service, good food and I love the coffee! Convenient Bloor and Yonge location.
Great place to eat
Good food and a pleasant experience. Service was fast
Nice breakfast place.
I think its one of the best for breakfast and lunch and me with my family we go every Sunday
Yummy pancakes and just healthy breakfast. The food didnt even have greasy residue. Thoroughly impressed
Nice place, liked the food, they just rush us a little bit with the bill, all the 3 times I have been there
Wonderful food, great breakfast menu all day. Very popular.
This is my second time visiting this restaurant for take out. The first time I went was yesterday, the man who took my order was very pleasant. I sat down to wait for my order and when it was ready, he politely called me to receive my food. It was nice and warm. His service made me want to come back today. I unfortunately didn t like the service today. The lady that took my order was pleasant but failed to call me when the food was ready so by the time I went back to work to eat my food EVERYTHING WAS COLD! It was eatable but far from enjoyable. Please keep in mind I work directly in front of Sunset Grill. (30 second walk!) For next time please be more attentive to the dine in and take out customers.
Just as good as the others. Friendly but felt like I was being rushed for dining as one during breakfast but not a big deal really. If that bothers you, try a larger location, otherwise great place for a good old fashioned breakfast.
Best blueberry pancakes Ive had in a long time. And not greasy like your get in some other places. Service was good...restaurant is popular and space fills up even for weekday breakfast. Generally enjoyed it and its worth a try.
