Great time catching up with my university friends that I met 30 years ago this month

We waited 20 minutes for a server to give us menus (we seated inside). Even though the person in the computer was working next to us all the time we were waiting. We realized she spoke spanish so we asked for the bill in that language. It was weird to notice that when a white party entered she stood up and gave them the menus when she ignored us for 20 minutes. The server told us in the least offensive way she thought we worked there and that s why she kept forgetting about us. So I wonder if that s the way the employees are treated. Know that I never send bad reviews but this was a lot. Hopefully this is not racism.

This is a great pub. Very tasty craft beer, especially liked their signature strong beer and beer with the smell of smoke. For food, I definitely recommend the burger, it s excellent here. The service is also great. I would especially like to mention the bartender, he is a master of his craft. You can also buy povo in an original bottle for a gift

I really wanted to like this place, the food was great. I ordered some beers online and there was an issue with my order. I called several times, emailed several times, reached out across social media and to this day (two months later), I have not heard a response back. Terrible customer service in my opinion.

OMG. They have Bourbon County Barrel Stout (BCBS) on draught for less than the cost of a bottle in the US. Thats crazy! This is honestly THE BENCHMARK for beer (period).

The service was insufferably slow. The waiter did the best he could despite being so spread out on a Saturday afternoon, but my friends and I waited what felt like centuries to get our orders. I would not recommend Goose Island as it is now, though I know my friends had great experiences years ago. It appears to be a shell of its former self. Also the food was not good and the beer was lukewarm.

They had nothing from the menu - beer menu wasnt updated, out of ingredients to make things. Nice patio.

Beer orders completely mixed up: server had no idea. Worst beef dip I ve ever had (lukewarm, nasty meat, no dip?!, overcooked burgers, tiny salads). And we were the only table in the bar, we had their full attention.

Hard to believe that a brewery like this one, making the awesome BCBS series every year, never have any good beers on draught all year long

We had heard from a friend about this brewery so we thought we gave it a try since we were going downtown.....we had reservation . It was a little busy. The service wasnt that great as we sat at our table for 20 minutes without any one coming. We agree that we will wait 10 more minutes ( 30 minutes since walking in the door) that we would leave. But my wife decided that she will go ask the hostess. Finally after 25 minutes our waitress showed up. The food is very good. We founded out that its from the same kitchen as bier market as they are connected. The waitress seems overwhelmed as she didnt really show up after taking our order. Didnt ask how our meal was & didnt refill our soda automatically ( we had to ask at the end of our meal). Over all food & the beer was very good. The service ruined it for me as we probably wont come back.

Went there as a group of four. Biermarket and Goose are two restaurants under the same roof like. Was not busy today, service was good and friendly. It was overall a good experience. Bier was also good. Nice selection of IPA. Solid 4 stars.

The beer at goose is great but the service is even better. I love interacting with Nat in particular and learning about all the new brews.

Nice spot. Good atmosphere. We had their light lager, good beer. Food was 50/50. I had a chicken guacamole burger that was delicious, with a house salad that was kale. Im not a lover of kale so that wasnt great for me. We also had the schnitzel, chicken was a little pink, and gravy that we had with fries was saltless. Decent spot, worth checking out, not worth rushing back to.

I very much enjoy going to Goose. From the service to the drinks, I love the vibe, location and environment. Natalie is such a treat; I love seeing her when I go for a Juice or Nutbutter. I appreciate her kindness along with that of the other staff. I look forward to my next visit!

Went to goose island for some food and a pint before the raptors game last night and Natalie exceeded our expectations as a server!! Amazing experience will definitely be back.

Awesome place to meet up for drinks...big space...had a flight with 4 goose island branded beers, and fries ... good atmosphere, tvs for sports, background music, loud enough to have a conversation and not disturb others...recommend.

My partner and I ordered a flight to try out the selection as part of a quick 20 minute stop. While we enjoyed the beer, only getting a flight is definitely not advised if you want to be treated well.

First time here yesterday evening about 6pm. Seated at a table with no light, making reading the menu challenging. No one came to take our order. After 10 minutes, I went over and asked the host how we order our drinks, and do we need to go to the bar or will someone come and take our order. Was told someone will come to take our order. Lots of staff wandering around, and walking past our table. Not one of them stopped. A few minutes later a server in a burgundy tshirt walked passed us stating she will be right with us. 10 more minutes went by, nothing, so we left. Staff behind the bar shifting glassware, another staff member wandering around not doing anything and headed into the kitchen - I presume this was a manager of some sort. Tons of staff wandering around, very few customers, yet no one came to take our order. Even if the host who sat us took our order and passed it on to a server would have been better then just letting us sit there, until we got fed up and left. This entire scenario was avoidable and should be raised by management as a teaching point to staff. Not sure or not if we will be back. Not sure we want to potentially have this horrid experience again. Management is free to reach out to me if they would like to discuss this negative experience further.

Sat outside with a group of colleagues and had a Diet Pepsi. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Id definitely go back (and, next time, try the food)!

Severely understaffed and very inexperienced staff on a Wednesday evening. We waited for 15 minutes and had to wave at a server to take orders. Then we waited for another 15 minutes, in vain, before we walked to the bar to place a bigger drink order to get drinks for the entire table. We were at a table for five but in that 30min no one paid attention to the table at all, more like servers walked by multiple times but they were too busy and tried not to make any eye contact. Eventually they brought us beer but 5 minutes later came back with an extra one, when all of us had our own beer and none of us ordered a second round. Also, no one brought us a glass of water or what so ever. They also delivered wrong food. The zoning of waiters were very odd, and inefficient, that we were served by a waitress who at the beginning claimed that shes not the waitress in our zone. We then waited for half an hour for the food to come out. Brewhouse burger was dry and gross. I wonder why it gets 4.2 stars on Google. I should have picked something else on front Street instead should I know I would get zero service and bad food.

The steak frites was awful. I asked for medium but got rare. The only thing I could smell/taste was old meat and pepper. Even the sauce was bad. I do not leave bad reviews often but this one deserves it. I would have rathered be eating anything else.

Avoid! Came here after a Jay game on a Saturday. Had the driest and coldest wings in my life. Fish and chips served dry and Luke warm. Waited 30 plus minutes and tables around us were missing orders. Had two sodas with our meals and came out to $85. No one came and checked if we needed anything. Worst dining experience at the Esplanade area.

I ordered four types of beer with Flight and it was a truly worthwhile experience. As a lager lover, Mexican Lager was the most delicious. I also ordered a sour drink (raspberry...whatever), and it was relatively very soft and light, so it wasnt bad even for someone like me who has a bit of an aversion to sour beer. The patio atmosphere was comfortable and nice.

Dont like to leave negative reviews, but it was the worst dining in Toronto. The food was below average but the service was horrible. I had to get up and find a server three times, two for waters one for asking coffee and one for coffee refill. The waiter who was a very nice guy, he basically did not show up at all on the table, bus persons bringing the plates, he later admitted that service was bad because he was understaff and busy, probably looking after 15 tables at one area. One more, dont sit near the big screen TV technology is so behind, if u are watching a game, the speed is so slow, you can not clearly folllow ball or players moving. Too bad for a real nice place and location

This place is connected to Biermarket and is quite spacious. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Beer great (aside from ordering one I didn t quite like) and service was great. Only complaint is that the riblets were dry and seemed like they were old. I would recommend NOT to order them. The calamari was nice and tender though. The beef dip sandwich was delicious but also very messy to eat (beware).

Fantastic beer options. Dont normally enjoy coffee porter, too heavy and smoky, but the Goose Island in house coffee porter was excellent. Amazing clean coffee finish. Paired it up with the poutine, classic and simple, and had a great experience.

Nice brewery in the Esplanade. Kinda dark but has a lot of screens for sports games on. Lots of options on tap with seasonal changes if youre into local craft beer. I tend to like smaller menus better that focuses on just a few things and this place does just that. I got the duck wings, French onion soup, and the chicken schnitzel. All were really solid options. They also have pizzas and burgers.

The Brewhouse Burger is the best burger I have ever had. My friend also loved the Brie Burger. This is my third time eating here and am looking forward to the forth. This time I drove into the city and paid for parking just to eat here. Service has always been amazing! I almost forgot to mention the beer. I love beer and always find something great to drink. My two friends dont drink beer and both found something they really enjoyed. Great indoor and outdoor experience. All in all an amazing time.

Hakan provided great service! The tap I ordered from was out of service, but he gave me a free mini beer while I waited for him to fix it and gave great alternative suggestions. Nice guy.

Beer was great. Unfortunately a few problems with the food service: received the appetizer and mains at the same time, food menus were never taken away, was never asked if the food was okay - had to go ask for sauce ourselves, dirty plates were not taken away for 20mins after finishing. Not sure if our waiter was new, if so would have been good to be made aware of that in advance! Edit: wrote this review 20mins after waiting for the bill. Downgrading this to 1 star now after having waited a further 45mins. Our dirty plates are still in front of us!!!

Amazing experience! Came to Toronto with my mother as Im on a holiday visiting from BC. Natalie was our server and we couldnt be more pleased with her incredible service! She is quirky, fun and full of life. She knew the menu well and had great suggestions for us. Would absolutely recommend goose island to friends and would return for the immaculate service from Natalie!

I ve enjoyed their beer for years but going to the Brewery was a whole new level! I ordered Calamari and it was excellent, with the entire vibe of the restaurant being great. It is a brewery AND a restaurant, dine here next time!

Excellent selection of craft beers and a good food menu too! Our favourites include the nachos and the wings but the flatbread is underwhelming. Great atmosphere inside with lots of room for big groups and they have a really nice front and back patio. The back patio includes a view of a framed Banksy which was cool to check out!

Stopped here during a food tour around lunch time & had their poutine. It was amazingly delicious. The fries were crispy, gravy was delicious without being clumpy, & a generous serving of cheese curds. Portion was more than enough for two people and they didn t ruin a classic by adding extras that don t need to be there. Our waiter was very friendly, efficient, & professional, unfortunately I forgot his name but would 10/10 recommend!!!

Came here for an event and loved it! The brewhouse is connected to bier markt with a good amount of seating inside and a cute patio out back. Had the beer flight so I could sample more of the beers which were perfectly refreshing after a hot summer run. I also had the nachos with beef and they were fantastic. The servers were really great and had helpful recommendations. I will definitely be coming back!

Good costumer service, they have live music on sundays. The beer variety is huge, the pint is 8.5 cad, the pizza flavour is amazing, but be aware that they close kitchen at 10:20pm so if you are hungry arrive before thar time.

Came in on a Saturday night (October 1) at 7:30pm for a walk-in, tables were approximately 20% occupied. We were turned away because they did not have the waitstaff to serve our party (6 people). Maybe management should hire more people for a Saturday night if they want to keep the business open

Came here for some drinks and snacks with friends and probably would not return. The drinks were fine but the food was subpar to say in the least. I had a burger and a side poutine and the poutine was probably the worst Ive ever had in my life. The fries were mushy and nowhere near crisp and way way too much gravy, which I didnt think was possible. To make it worse the gravy tasted like water, 0 flavour. Again didnt think that was possible. Burger was fine but nothing memorable. Also of note, I believe it shares a kitchen with Biermarket next door and the space actually merges with Biermarket. Two stars for the drinks, 0 stars for the food.

Come one, come all to try the a great variety of pints at a Goose Island pub . When COVID ends, walk in you won t regret it.

Place has a nice variety of craft brews and a great patio with slightly above average food as they share the kitchen with Bier Markt. With more condos building around, it will lose its sunlight pretty quickly.

A perfect patio spot to enjoy some pints in the sun. The staff are friendly but still clearly taking all COVID safety precautions seriously and the tables are well-distanced. Theyre also still offering a good selection of beers on tap as well as a varied food menu whether youre looking for snacks or a full meal!

Love the vibe, nice patio. Great selection of drinks, you can find very popular food like chicken wing, pizza, burger, salad, beefsteak etc. We order Paloma and Pineapple mojito, the Paloma is recommended. Wings are yummy, next time I will try it with the sauce.

It rained pretty hard on our visit there but the canopy was big enough to keep us somewhat dry while we waited for the storm to pass. The waitresses were nice and the burgers /drinks were delicious

They had a dead mouse just chilling on the patio rotting with a bunch of flies. Not sure how the staff didnt notice on a busy Saturday afternoon but we sure did as soon as we sat down. To their credit the staff apologized but uh....not someplace I wanted to eat after seeing that. Went to another place.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Smoked Gouda Burger with fries. Their in-house beers were really great with my favourite being the Bamburger beer. I also appreciated how large their patio space is and how COVID-19 measures were put into place such as ample space between tables with barriers in between. Last but not least, I thought the customer service was good and everybody was super friendly, adding to the relaxed vibe of the neighbourhood.

Dont order the stout, they just give you half a beer instead of pouring it properly

Awesome place. Flights of their brewed beers are delicious and theres a ton of variety. Wait staff are nice too and the food portions are reasonable for the price. Combine that with a very nice interior decor and a great soundtrack and its a pretty awesome time.

Good patio! It was still sunny when we went so we had an enjoyable experience. Good service and they let us enjoy their patio with our small dog which was very nice of them. We ordered the Easy Target beer, pretty standard but good quality and shared the chicken nachos. Also good. If i lived around that neighborhood I would come back.

I decided last minute to stop in during a trip to Toronto, and Im beyond glad I did! My server, Shanel, made sure that my orders were taken quickly and never let my glass run dry! The space itself is attached onto Biermarkt and theres outdoor seating, but I opted to be inside. The facility has a spectacular and authentic design that is pristinely clean. The beers were significantly better than what I expected, with a ton of variety that would please any type of palate. Didnt order any food this time around, but I know I will be back!

Just went in there to buy beer and it was extremely strange and frustrating. No one seemed interested in helping us and even though they were open, we couldnt buy bere. We went out of our way to come here. I would never try again

I have found my out of town pub close to a market place middle of core everywhere. Stopped for burger and beverage and found myself ingaged on a wonderful sitting of upbeat. Tbe Atmosphere is exciting for any age of crowd second to none for hospitality Not knowing how or what to expect I found myself lost watching and observing talents of the servers far superior to most pubs. To see such a place that seats up to 500 and watch how each and everyone working make people feel invited and welcome. Hats off and please make Goose Island Pub a destination of choice while in Toronto. You will not be disappointed

All the beers were delicious overall and the fish and chips were a snack. Recommendation: The price is a bit expensive after eating, and the servers English speaking speed was at KTX level, so it was a bit difficult to understand.

Great location and atmosphere. The waft of that signature brewery smell as you walk in the door is pleasant, appetizing, and brings on the thirst! The pretzel was to die for, highly recommend. The beef dip, tasty as it was, was not dippable as the bread was quite large. Trying to pour the jus/gravy on the sandwich kind of worked, but allowed for the toppings to begin sliding out. I cant wait to try the rest of the menu!

Waited for five minutes at the to go window I was directed to, was ignored by multiple staff, left. What a waste of time.

This is my favourite bar/patio in the city since Prohibition closed down. The food is awesome, but the selection of beers is even better. Thanks for introducing me to my favourite new drink - the frulirium! The patio is very well socially-distanced, and the last time we went our server Maryanne (spelling?) was an absolute joy to have around and had the most bubbly personality. Definitely check it out if you haven t yet, and be sure to tip well!

Staff is wonderful. Went for the anniversary event, the menu was great. Each beer paired well with the food and was well enjoyed on its own. Every question I had was answered knowledgabley. Very clean which is important in these times and just all around good atmosphere

The beer is delicious and the ducks are cute! You can buy it in Japan too, so every time I see it for sale, I think of Toronto.

The beers here are amazing! I only came to try the several on the tap beer they offer. They do have huge selection but my server Nina she helped me during the ordering process. The staff service is impeccable. Next time I gotta bring someone to tag along.

Loved it! The chicken schnitzel was superb. Everyone loved their food. Service was courteous and friendly. Would definitely come back next time Im in town. Highly recommend this.

Was in for lunch today and ordered the poutine, calamari and french onion soup.The soup was delicious though Im unable to say the same for the other 2 dishes.Calamari was exceptionally tender but so greasy and a tad too salty. Poutine was a disappointment. Tasteless melted cheese paired with an average gravy over frozen fries.The place was nice. Service was good.Beer is great but wouldnt recommend ordering wine.For the price of a glass I would expect something of better quality.

Beer is delicious, but I bought a bunch and every single one of them foamed 25% of its contents all over the table. No shaking, no mishandling, hours between each one opening. The first two made an absolute mess, the rest didnt because I had to hold over the sink and crack open slightly first. Not impressed at all, never had this issue with any other brand...
