245 Eglinton Ave E, Toronto, ON M4P 3B7, Canada
Family owned and operated brewpub in midtown Toronto since 1991. On-site brewery, restaurant and retail store selling beer-to-go until 11 PM, seven nights a week. The restaurant has over 200 seats and two beautiful patios to enjoy in the summer months. With ample space, Granite Brewery is an ideal location to host private events, whether it's a small gathering of friends or a formal wedding up to 120 guests.
Edit: I've also had dinner here, just as a restaurant, and would also give it 5 stars! Tasty food, cozy atmosphere, and great beers! My wife and I had our wedding here in September and it was absolutely perfect!! I'm so glad we picked Granite as our venue - they made it a totally stress-free experience and our guests had so many compliments about our choice The space is beautiful, the food was delicious (they were so accommodating to dietary restrictions!), and the setup was ideal for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception Highly recommend if you're looking for a wedding venue - I also really appreciate that they post all the costs for everything on their website so you can see before committing! Thank you to the Granite team for the most perfect day <3 Lgbtq friendly, free parking, and fully accessible!
Cant comment on the food bc i just came for beer - what a great selection on tap! There were also complimentary tasters at certain times of the day which was great to try beers i wouldnt typically gravitate towards. Our bartender was super nice too and made some good recommendations based on my preferences! The inside of the pub is cozier than i expected and i really like the “library nook” they have going on. Street parking available around the area.
No wonder this place has been around since 1991; a true Toronto institution. Excellent beer, friendly service and very good food. The beer flights are great. Strongly recommend!
We hosted our wedding reception and dinner at Granite in mid August and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!!! The whole planning process was transparent and easy. No weird random fee are added! The manager was super responsive and accommodated all our requests! The reception and dinner were excellent executed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We all had an amazing time at Granite!!!
My husband and I had our wedding here on 08.24.2024. It was the most amazing day ever, the staff were incredible and the food was amazing! Definitely looking forward to going back for dinner! And if you need a wedding venue or party venue this is an awesome place! Well priced and different areas to celebrate
This place has been around for ages. Always has great beer (brewed in house) and good food. The atmosphere is a bit 90’s pub but that’s fine. Good selection on the menu (curries are good) and the best bitter is top notch. Indoor, street patio and back patio plus free parking. What’s not to like.
We hosted our wedding at the Granite Brewery in May 2024. Sam and Jess were so helpful with every step along the way. We were very indecisive and they helped us with all the various planning decisions. They made it so easy and stress-free. On the morning of the wedding it was pouring rain and they were ready with a back up plan to move indoors, but the sun came out and we had the most beautiful ceremony in the back courtyard. The staff working that evening were amazing. The place looked great, the food was fantastic, and everything worked perfectly. Our guests had a great time and so did we. Thanks again!
Great service and amazing beer selection. The food was fresh and the coldness of the beer just right. Amazing attention from the staff and fast service. Definitely a place I will return often when looking for a relaxing time in Midtown. Spacious place with a large patio as well.
Do not recommend it at all! Simply one of the worst places. That includes the staff, the beer here and the vibe. I cannot believe how or why someone would rate it 5 stars! Hope it goes out of business soon so something better can pop up in the area. Service : 1/5
The service was great. Heads-up: the classic poutine has shredded cheddar on it, not cheese curds.
Edit: November 2024. I may have gotten someone on a bad day. Met with the owner and have gone back a few times since the moody server and had an awesome experience. Best sweet potato fries! Very good beer, super fast service. Male server on patio middle aged very rude. Beer was good and young lady waitress we had before him was great. But this guy ruined it for us and we won t be returning.
Good vibes, excellent food.
We recently had a private party at the Granite, and we couldnt be happier with how it worked out. Organizing it was super easy, with Sam answering all of our questions. And the staff on the night of were lovely and helpful. Everyone had a great time!
cosy neighborhood pub with a unique ambience. elderly clientele. best for long conversations or reading a book while watching the fireplace beer = service > food
Nice beer and wings
We couldn t be happier with our experience at Granite Brewery & Tied House. From the initial planning stages to the day of our wedding, Sam and his team made the entire process effortless, handling every detail with a level of professionalism and care that put us at ease. Sam was incredibly accommodating, always ensuring that all our requests were met and even going the extra mile to make our day truly special. On the day itself, Owen was fantastic, running the show smoothly and making sure everything went off without a hitch. The garden setting for our ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and the reception was equally perfect. Our guests loved the food and raved about the variety of drinks from their house ales to the specialty beers, there was something for everyone. Granite Brewery s longstanding reputation as one of Toronto s original craft breweries speaks to their dedication to quality, and it really showed in both their hospitality and their menu offerings. We re so grateful to the entire team for making our day as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. We would highly recommend Granite Brewery & Tied House to anyone looking for a venue that combines excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Have been in back patio which is great - been by fireplace which is great Most recent was lady my weekend in library for my birthday. Always great food and service. Love Granite!
I recently threw a 30th birthday party for my son. I have to say that the people at Granite were amazing. From Jessica helping us get everything organized, planning out the meals, and advising us on the best presentation while sticking to a budget, to Owen who meticulously saw to everyones needs during the party. The food was great, I wouldnt hesitate for a minute to plan another occasion at the Granite. Thanks everyone for making the occasion memorable.
Good food, excellent service. The ambience needs a bit of an update and unfortunately there were only 3 Tv screens (1 very small). But the service (all waiters very nice and attentive) and the food compensates. The Beers are the high point of the place.
We could not have been happier with our Granite Brewery wedding! From viewing the venue to the execution of our big day, it was smooth and flawless. All of the information we needed was available on the website and Sam was so accommodating and responsive for all other questions. The space looked beautiful, we got lots of compliments on the food and beer, and staff were wonderful from start to finish. I d highly recommend the venue for any event and absolutely loved our Granite wedding!
Galactic pale ale, hopping mad
Try the 4x sample than go for a real size. Great menu and team!
We ve eaten here many many times over the years for dinner and it s one of our favourite spots. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Granite earlier in 2024. They really know what they are doing and make the whole process leading up so simple and as stress-free as possible. The staff are excellent with set up and clean up. They clean up for you and let you pick up the next day. Excellent communication. Very decently priced, especially compared to other brewery venues in the city. The food and drinks were fantastic, received many compliments, and they accommodated allergy requests well. My family were thrilled about the whole place and we had an amazing time there.
Did our wedding there in the summer of 2024 and they were fantastic. The courtyard and back patio are beautiful. Sam and the entire team were amazing to work with the entire time. A great option for a Toronto wedding that can offer everything in one place.
Along with a great collection of in house beer, they had good food as well and served with a smile!
Wonderful staff - all of them. Good prices and quality food and drinks. Great for family, friends and even business meetings.
Beer selection is top notch. Staff is the friendliest in Toronto. I would recommend the Granite to anyone who loves craft beers and wants a unique dining experience.
The food we re not as much as we expected to be, like the burger was over burnt, the bacon was dried, the fries were not fresh, the subalacki chicken was not fresh overall the food were awful
The back patio is nice. Service was okay. The food is good, and the ribs are especially good.
Nice place to have a beer. Like the ambience and the service
Beer good, food is middle of the road, pub food.
At our table of 4 with service beginning about 7 pm on Sunday August 11th, 1 of us ordered the jambalaya dish to be shared between 2 along with another dish between them. The other 2 main dishes were delayed as a result of preparation time needed for the jambalaya to the point that we requested the other 2 dishes be brought thinking the jambalaya would follow soon after. It didnt to the point that I almost finished my dish before the jambalaya dish was served. Im told it was delicious but the wait time and fact that the 4 of us didnt eat together should have resulted in an real effort to make it right. A vague offer of a single beer can to take home for the 1 most affected was, in my opinion, not a serious effort to make it right. Hence my review.
The beer selection was extremely limited, and the ones they had were overpriced. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, and the manager is bald.
Absolutely love this place. The beer selection is great and is really accessible for a novice like myself. Prices are quite fair all things considered. Great value! The staff is exceptional, really helpful and attentive, but like not in an overbearing way. They really know their stuff and are excited to share their knowledge. Kitchen is great, fresh inputs. None of this refried from frozen garbage that most places serve. Have to give a shoutout to the manager as well! Really accommodating, super friendly and just really elevates the whole operation. 10/10. Will be back.
Disappointed with the service from the waiter in the back patio today. This place has really gone downhill in terms of overall customer experience, would NOT recommend anymore! Lots of better options around compared to Granite Brewery. Will not be returning!
Pathetic place!
All the staff here are super friendly and have always made the moment right! Love their veggie burger and appreciate a house made patty over going with the beyond meat! The back patio is nice and quiet, but I personally prefer the coziness of the library at the front!
Granite club house sandwich and garden salad, the salad was not fresh. Carrots, cucumbers and lettuce were dry, some leaves turned brown. The crab cakes were fishy. From Calgary Alberta
Service was friendly. Atmosphere was welcoming, actual food was another story. No issues with front end. I ordered a Club Sandwich w/fries. Asked for Mayo to be IN the sandwich. I get my sandwich and I was told that I have mayo included, but not in the sandwich. So am I supposed to individually spread mayo on 12 pieces of toast? My choices seem to be a sandwich as dry as the Sahara or I can play around and build my own deconstructed Club. Either way, not impressed.
This place is my favorite brewery in Toronto. The bitter they do is exceptional. They are also one of the few places I ve found in the city that do cask ale.
Drinks were great but service was atrocious.
So the food was slow, not the waitresses fault but it wasnt quick getting fed in there even with kids. To be fair my venison burger was excellent though the fries need some work.
Great patio!! Food was ok beer was OK wine was OK.. ( but to be expected its a brewery ! Not a winery service was great
I keep riding past this place, and now Im glad I stopped in. The back patio is like a little oasis! I had the beet and sunflower burger and really liked it. More importantly, there were two signs that made it feel like a Queer safe space: not only is there a Drag Brunch/Bingo, but the restrooms are inclusive. Super pleased, for sure Ill be back!
Best beer in Toronto, good food, and a comfortable pub ambiance. Been coming here for years. Here again in 2024. Still an excellent experience.
excellent beers
Such a cozy bar. One of my favourites
Originally gave a low rating due to a takeout meal I had a few years back, gave this place another shot today and omg I m happy I did , food was 10/10.
Officiated another wedding here and once again, it was perfect. Staff are so friendly and easy to work with.
Great local micro brewery that has great beer, good food and enough space to accommodate a big party. Cozy and relaxed place with 2 outdoor patios: one in front and a quiet one at the back. Very friendly waiting staff.
Backyard patio is so nice!
Recently we were at the Granite on a busy Friday night, our server treated us as if we were the only patrons. My wife has serious food allergies and he worked very hard to ensure that every thing she ordered was prepared perfectly! We will be back ! Dietary restrictions: Our server worked with my wife to add and subtract whatever she needed. Parking: In the building, many spots but a little tricky to find initially.
we went to Granite Brewery to attend Opera Revue event! The performance was amazing and food was great! Highly recommend to attend Opera Revue events!
Food was okay (standard bar food), but we had to wait for about 50 mins to get it and the place wasnt even packed, we came on a Thursday at 8 pm. The table was also dirty with what looked like milk and instead of cleaning it with a towel, the waiter just wiped it with his hand. The poutine had a net total of 14 fries and was not impressive. Not worth the time, just go to any other bar.
Cool place, just not my vibe. Authentic old school british public house, but not a new modern micro brew.
Great pub, delicious food, and amazing service! They split our pint to share and returned the purse I left by accident with all contents fully intact when I came back a few hours later to check if it was there. Very nice service team!
Great food in the brewpub, beer is also high quality
They have a nice patio outside where you can enjoy your beer.
Best fish and chips in the city. Their burgers are also delicious. We usually order the Slow and Low cider, not too sweet, very good
Fantastic drinks, delicious food, and great service! The menu is incredible with something on it for everyone. I would definitely recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner and trying one of their specialty beers as well. Food
I ve held two major events at this restaurant. Sam and his team go out of their way to make sure everything is wonderful. Food is great and the price is just right. They are extremely accommodating.
Loved this place and will be back soon! Beer is next level delicious.
Best food...best beer in Toronto
Best service and atmosphere.
I hadnt been in awhile, and Im glad they kept the vibe while updating some important elements Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant and bathroom are fully accessible
This is some of the best beer thats microbrewed. The menu is pretty good, pairs well with the beer. Wish the flavors were a bit more inventive but overall wouldnt pass on visiting whenever in the area.
Great beer and good atmosphere. Service great as well. Food your standard pub food. Definitely place worth going.
We have just attended their 30th anniversary Robbie Burns supper here and had a great time. Food/Service/Drinks/Atmosphere fun and authentic. Can recommend highly if you are looking for a special evening in the depths of January!
Amazing fn food, out of this world flight of beers and phenomenal plethora of rye. Ada is supreme with her attention to customer questions and offering the best god damn service. Google reviews need to get real.
We had a group of 10 people. The food and service was excellent.
Staff are always friendly! The burgers here are probably one of the best in the area as well.
Robbie Burns night is the best at the Granite
Great beer selection, service is usually very friendly and quick, the food is pub food. The wings are pretty reliable. The back patio is the best vibe in the summer. Vegetarian options: The veggie burger is pretty good!
The waiter was amazing super friendly and outgoing! Food was awesome especially the gluten vegetarian pasta! And their beer was so good my husband bought a jug to take home. Will definitely be back and highly recommend! Its a must if your in the area! Kid-friendliness: We were there with our 12 year old son and 6 month old son.
Warm, friendly atmosphere summer or winter. Whether with family or friends or just a quiet drink alone. Love this place.
Visit 2 - Josh was super nice and helped my friends and I out really well. Love his energy! I was not in the mood for alcohol so Josh recommended a tasty Shirley Temple, which was so good! 6/5! Food was great and the brewed beers were great (is what my friends tell me). I had the 20 bees Pinot Grigio. We ate the roast beef sandwich, the pulled pork and chorizo sandwich and 2 lbs of honey garlic and BBQ wings.
I finally made it to Granite Brewery and attended with a couple friends to try some craft beer and food. This pub is both cozy and spacious. The server Natasha was outstanding, she recommended the stout with a hint of scotch and it was so good and not filling. I had the greek salad and Currie chicken/shrimp main course and it was so fresh and tasty. The dessert was the icing on the cake. I will be back and I can see now why they have been in business for 31 years.
Ive added this bar to my must-go list since moving to Toronto, and overall it was pretty good. We arrived around 5:30 pm, and there werent many people; we couldn t speak loudly because the whole bar was super quiet. We ordered Cobb salad and beet burger. My partner misread the beet burger as a beef burger, but he loved it so much! The Cobb salad I ordered was also great, with a lot of ingredients in the salad, and I didn t even need dressing to taste rich enough. We also ordered a flight to try their beers, but half was plain. I especially liked their Ringberry ale, which was a rich, fruity taste and was not too sweet; very refreshing! The servers were amiable, and the decoration of the whole bar was very cozy. I wish they could play some music, tho! Because it was so quiet. Overall, great food, plenty of space, and clean toilets! We will be back next time!
I m not sure if I need to say much as the picture might say it all but that s what they serviced as Eggs Benedict for Brunch! I had other family members with the same order and pretty much the same portion on the plate with the few rolling blue berries and minimal potatoes with barely any hollandaise sauce. The poached eggs were over cooked and the initial order was actually incorrect when it came out with sausage instead of peameal bacon. Service was a little slow. The restaurant is nice and there s free parking available, hence the 2 stars. I would suggest to use smaller plates to make it less naked looking. Our server seemed annoyed and less eager to serve but honestly the food wasn t bad just not amazing. I would go back and maybe go for dinner instead of brunch. The portions look better and probably better services in the evening. I hope to update my review to give a better star rating.
Awesome beers, delicious food in warm and cozy space with great staff
Their food was tasty, and it was super cozy there. We enjoyed our time, and we received great service. Absolutely worth it!
I recently attended this place, I have been here a number of times live in the the area so always considered this one of my local stops, I have had the waiter Mike now a couple of times and every single time our experience has been far from a good time. I m not one to normally write reviews but I don t know if I ll be coming back after my last experience. He is very dismissive and completely not engaged in his duty as a waiter. Never once came over to see how we were doing, consistently had to chase him down for a drink, and food. I hate to consider leaving this place but if there s even a 10 percent chance of getting Mike, I would consider another establishment.
5 star for Joshs amazing service and friendly attitude that made our night! 4.5 for the beer selection! And food... well it was ok but so little chicken (150g at most) for so much rice (chicken souvlaki)
The Granite Brewery is one of my happy places in the city and walking distance from my girlfriends place in the neighbourhood. Being a semi regular, I get an opportunity to try the specials, usually I get the pasta but this time around I went for the Chicken Brie Sandwich that was on special the last full week of February. Most pubs these days have a Nashville style chicken sandwich on the menu, the Chicken with Brie is a something different, much better and I hope it makes the core menu, please put it on the core menu! As for the beer, what is there to say? The Hopping Mad IPA, Best Bitter, the Irish Dry Stout and the Black IPA when it comes onto rotation are some of my favourite craft beers, and glady buy cans to take home with me to Oakville. The Granite owners and staff care about the beer, food and experience their customers get, and coming by for a pint along with lunch or dinner is always a treat!
The atmosphere and food and drinks and service at this pub are excellent. A very inviting, cozy place with so much friendliness and attentiveness. Unfortunately the prices have become absurdly high, which is becoming common in pubs. I had an amazing experience when there on February 25, 2023 (food quality, craft beer quality, service) but the bill was so high, I wont return.
Wedding at The Granite Brewery & Tied House: The Granite Brewery and team were amazing to work with. We were quite stressed with the amount of planning we had to do for our wedding. Thankfully we were collaborating with Sam, who helped us plan every step of the way. We felt relieved after he explained what he and his team could offer, and communicated with us regularly (even during his vacation time, which was just outstanding). He and his team were very accommodating as they were ready to assist us with anything we needed, even last-minute changes. Without their flexibility, we could not have had such a beautiful and unforgettable wedding. This review in itself is not enough to express our gratitude and appreciation for The Granite Brewery and the team!
Very nice classic brewery with lots of traditional styles and amazing food! Very good fries!!
Full disclosure - this restaurant wasnt even on my radar before I photographed a wedding here at the end of last summer. Well, you can consider me a fan now! There arent many restaurants in the city that can host a ceremony in a stunning outdoor green space before moving indoors for the reception in a private room. Granite Brewery & Tied House arguably does this in the best way possible! On top of Granite being the a beautifully decorated space to host your wedding or event, their food selections were really on point as well. With a buffet style dinner, I was able to try a wide variety of different menu items and each one was more remarkable than the last. The real standout for me was the chicken, but Ive always been a bit biased towards chicken. Finally, the service and attention to detail by all the staff was second to none for my entire stay at Granite. They really take care of all their guests exceptionally and I could tell my clients were really impressed. Thanks for making this wedding a real highlight of my summer Granite! Hope to see you again soon
In all of my visits I have never once been disappointed with the food or the beer. All of the beer is brewed in house and since its even sold at a few LCBO stores in the city
Very clean and relaxed environment. The fireplace adds a nice touch. Staff was very friendly. Good was great. Had a great time
We held our daughters 4th birthday party at the Granite and things worked out better than we couldve expected! Yes a brewery isnt typically a top choice for a kids birthday party, but the combination of a Midtown Tiny Tots event (45 second walk down the road) followed by some prime quality brews and food put a smile on all the parents faces. The event was seamless and easy to plan with Sam who was very flexible with every request we had. The library room was set up with a kids table and the enclosed area kept the munchkins contained. Josh was our lead server and his relaxed and adaptable approach (often with a joke and a smile) was above and beyond what anyone could expect for service. Id recommend this place as an excellent overall choice. Theres a cozy & laid back atmosphere and the kids menu options are great. The adult food is also well above average especially for a pub; in particular the weekly feature dishes (not a common pub thing) are consistently great. Parking: Parking is free in the underground lot downstairs. You bring your parking stub and they will give you a token. Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is rarely busy or cramped. Our kids always eat the food. They love the mac & cheese every time... and they eat a LOT of mac & cheese.
My best friend hosted her birthday party in their Library room. Our host was named Josh, and he was attentive, welcoming and very friendly. He was fantastic. A++ for the party and for Josh!
Is it an area only for white people? I tried this place last night to quickly grab a beer while Im waiting for my friend. I was the only asian there and I decided to leave this place after 10 mins. The reason why is simply they just let me have a seat inside and did nothing for me. The table was dirty, no one came to me to wipe the table, they didnt even bring me their menu. It was my first time being there, so I got no idea what kind of beer they have and what to order. The servers were watching the sport match and chatting each other. I felt like Im being neglected in this place completely... Its understandable that they had busy hours on Saturday night, I couldve been waited more until someone brings me the menu(I usually have no problem with waiting when restaurant gets packed), but I already felt like Im not welcomed in this place from the front door. And everything just made me uncomfortable, so I had to leave
We had a great time at the Brewery celebrating a birthday. Opera Revue concert was great (as always)!
The Granite has been my regular for years. Good food, good drinks, excellent service.
Amazing place and good beer but the day we went either they didnt have enough people or didnt care, they refused to serve a sampler pack and kept forgetting to check on us for food or another round of beers! I will visit again to try their beer and hope to have a more pleasant experience
This place has been here for many years. They have a large variety of craft beer. For sure you will find something you like. The food is good pub food, nothing crazy burgers, fries, etc. the place is big outside and inside plus a big outside space in the back that is really pretty. Apart from the beer I have a soft spot for the lamb burger they offer.
This is a great restaurant to hold small events in. The food and drink are quite good. The event I saw was opera, but the scenes were explained in English before they were sang in Italian, I would recommend this!
Great food, beer and service, plus they will accommodate you if you have a lot of people. I most definitely will go back
We just had our wedding here last Saturday and cannot say enough good things about Granite, Chris, Sam and the whole staff. We got so many compliments on the food, beer, our signature cocktail and on how friendly and helpful the staff were - the manager Chris even helped fix my cousin s shoes when they completely fell apart on the day. From the first time we emailed them, they ve been incredibly helpful and responded to all our questions and concerns so promptly. As a somewhat nervous bride, I was reassured by their 20 years of experience and massive wedding related binder they pulled out during our first meeting. We re so grateful for all the hard work they put in and feel so lucky to have booked our wedding here.
Amazing food, beer, and service! Getting married here! Food : 5/5
The back patio is nice. It was weirdly loud inside even through the place was empty. The food was not good imo, I had a wrap and tried my friend s burger - both were really greasy. Drinks were alright but my Cesar didn t have any garnish - nothing special. our server seemed nice but wasn t great, she kept forgetting stuff I wouldn t return Vegetarian options: Had a few options, not many Dietary restrictions: Definitely not great for that, as most food is already prepared Parking: No parking, there s parking on mount pleasant (paid) if you re lucky on weekends Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: I don t believe it s accessible by wheelchair as it s a very old building
We had our wedding at the Granite about a month ago and we are still raving about the day! For anyone looking for a place to host your wedding, we definitely recommend the Granite wholeheartedly! A huge shoutout to all of the wonderful staff (Sam, Chris, Owen, etc) who were involved in the planning stages for the big day and for the day itself! Sam has been incredibly responsive during our consultation and as we worked out the details of how the day would go - he has so much knowledge and advice to share with you to make your day as best as possible. Accommodations for any dietary restrictions and decor were always discussed and ironed out. Chris and his team were awesome, always right there to make sure things were going smoothly - he helped keep everything on track and was so quick to help with even the tiniest of things - like when we needed a box for our cupcakes! Apart from all of the wonderful food (the vegan pasta was top-notch!), we really want to thank everyone at the Granite for their professionalism and skill. You literally took all of our worries away and we are so happy to have worked with you. Thank you for your organization and warmth that day!
Love the place
We had our wedding at the Granite Brewery this spring and we absolutely cannot say enough good things about them! From the very first interaction, Sam was so welcoming, accommodating, and always promptly responded to questions. Chris and the rest of the event staff on the day-of were equally as incredible. So kind, attentive, and great at their jobs. The food and drinks were wonderful too! I would highly recommend the Granite for any mid-sized wedding in Toronto! It was affordable without skimping on quality. Well done, Granite!
Servers need to take some better care of their customers Waiting for a coke for 15 minutes Food
Always a great time at Granite. We were here to celebrate some birthdays and had a blast. The beers are great! I highly recommend the Best Bitter. Its hard to find an English style bitter normally, but this one is amazing. Staff and service was fantastic. Shout out to our server Lindsay! She was super attentive, and gave some great recommendations. It always helps when your server is personable, and Lindsay takes it to another level. Food is perfect pub food with great selection. My wife had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and I had the Vindaloo. Both were great! The Granite is a staple stop for us every time we are in Toronto, make it yours too, you wont regret it.
Best patio in city. Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible. Can take elevator upstairs from garage, there is room to manoeuvre in restaurant, and bathrooms are accessible. Food : 5/5 |
Granite Brewery is a fantastic spot with something for everyone. They have an excellent patio; sunny out front and shaded seating out back. Dont miss out on their incredible chicken fingers and sweet potato fries (best well done). Its time to experience it for yourself finally!
Beautiful patio to enjoy cold draught beer.
We had our wedding at the Granite this passed weekend. Everything went so smoothly it took away every bit of stress I had. The people that run this establishment are just quality people, and it shows in the rest of the staff they keep; I was delighted for them to be part of the night. Sam is attentive, prompt, and will make the coordination of your event easy and stress-free. He will do everything he is able to to make sure any of your needs for the event are met. The buffet food is delicious and of great quality, and he will make sure any dietary restrictions of you or your guests are taken care of. Chris is a pro. Full stop. He will make whatever you need to happen within the venue, on a whim, on the night of - happen. He lives for this, and he will not let you down. I can t recommend a place enough. There is a lot of love here, and it is apparent! In the future I ll be able to remember that the Granite was as big a part of my wedding night as the people attending it.
Found a hair in my burger, otherwise, tasted great and the hostess was nice
We called ahead to ask if our dog would be allowed on the patio and we were told that dogs were welcome on the front patio. We seated ourselves and got service fairly quickly. The two staff we interacted with were friendly and efficient. Food was pretty good and decently priced. I appreciated the signage on the doors of the washrooms indicating an inclusive and safe space, welcoming people to use whichever restroom they felt comfortable in.
Came for Summerlicious 2023 tasting menu. Love the Crispy Avocado Wedges and the Lamb Shank.
Nice place to drink with some dishes!
Came here for their lunch summerlicious menu and it was fantastic. We sat out in the covered patio and it was so serene with all the greenery and plants despite the busyness of the restaurant with all the people. Service was amazing. They were really busy and only had like 2 or 3 servers but still kept checking on on us to make sure everything was good. To start I had the bruschetta, main was pan fried trout and dessert was tiramisu. Everything was very tasty and portions are big. A good place for some casual dining and drinking. I got their Ringberry Ale and it was so nice you can actually taste the raspberry aromas. Parking: Free parking garage for people eating at the restaurant. You need to get a token from the waiter to exit the garage.
We had our wedding last weekend at Granite, and we have so many positive things to say that even our guests still chat about it. The staff was absolutely fantastic, very polite and organized. My husband and I did not feel an ounce of worry working with the Granite team. They made us and the guest feel welcomed and ensured we were all comfortable throughout the night. The courtyard where the ceremony took place was beautiful. After the ceremony, the staff was quick to set up for cocktail hour. It put our minds at ease because while we were busy taking pictures, granite ensured our guests were fed and drinks provided. The food for the reception was delicious. We had the buffet. My husband and I have eaten at Granite for dinner, so we we knew the buffet was going to be good. We recommend Granite if you want a more intimate wedding and feel like you are having one large family dinner. I could go on, but Im trying to keep it short and sweet for their review. But I literally have no complaints, only positive feedback!
A mom group from another one of our classes recommended this spot which is close to Midtown s Tiny Tots where we meet. I made an online reservation and noted that we were a large group finishing a mom and baby session, so there would be many strollers, and we were happy to sit wherever convenient as the only option I could select online for a party our size was the back patio. The server who received us - an older lady with mid length white/light blonde hair - was very rude about and to our group, berating us, giving us exasperated sighs and eye rolls even though the place was empty at the time (11:45am) as we tried to line all the strollers against the back wall out of the way. Luckily a different server, Heather, took great care of us for the entire meal, which was delicious (I had the blackened salmon salad - yum). The back patio was a great space, nicely shaded and relaxed atmosphere. It would have been 5 stars if we didn t have an unpleasant welcome. For the most part we had a good time, delicious lunch and were well taken care of. Though the initial server did exclaim an unnecessarily barbed excellent to us as we left
Great place for your wedding ceremony and reception. Amazing staff
My husband and I have been long-time customers of the Granite and recently had our wedding here! Everything was extremely well-organized and really helped us be able to relax and enjoy our wedding. The courtyard is a beautiful place for a ceremony and the back patio was perfect for our cocktail hour! The food for dinner was excellent and had a good variety of options for our friends and family with dietary restrictions. The staff were very attentive and extremely helpful and worked well with us to make sure everything went seamlessly. Plus the prices are very reasonable for the wedding package! Overall I would highly, highly recommend having your next event, wedding or otherwise, at the Granite!
My partner and I fortunately live close by this place and are so grateful that we can walk in whenever a craving for fantastic food/beer hits. This place is huge and I m always surprised by the size/ space the place has indoors plus a large back patio/garden - most recently we were lucky to have had the entire front section by the library available for us late night and to have access to their new brew A Brand New Day which is our new favourite and a must-try full of citric juicy flavours perfect for a summer day/night! The food here is always great - the meatloaf is a staple of theirs but don t shy away from the special menu we had the shrimp and vegetable linguine most recently that was delicious. We ll be back soon!
I consider myself a wing guy, and I must say that the wings here are the best iv tried in the city. Massive portion of fries and sauce town on the wings.
Its a great place that makes their own beer. The food is very good. The back patio is very peaceful and features a large awning that keeps the sun off you. I enjoyed the special Back in the Day beer. It was very delicious and better than the Belgian Moon which is ubiquitous at Toronto bars. Great beer is the specialty. Enjoy in winter and summer.
I cannot thank Granite Brewery enough. I had the best experience for my wedding. Sam and Chris made the process so easy for us. They told me not to stress, and that they had everything under control. They were right. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful. The food and service was incredible. All of my guests had such a fun night. A+++ Thank you
Extremely satisfying food and beverage choices. Service is also excellent. Would return anytime
Consistent good quality food and drinks! Cozy backyard patio! Love it here! Food : 5/5
We haven t dinned in yet, but have been coming to their beer store for a couple of years now. Their growlers are the best, we re very partial to the peculiar in particular. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and service. Its a nice place to chill with friends and has a warm vibe to it. The courtyard especially is very beautiful. They have a variety of beers available and the service is really good. They have a lot of seating available indoors and in the courtyard. Id come here again to chill with friends and have a beer.
My server Peyton was the absolute best. Incredibly attentive and kind, they made my experience at Granite Brewery remarkable.
The back patio was an incredible place to enjoy a couple beers. Quiet, cool, and relaxing on a warm day. Their IPAs were pretty impressive, and the jerk burger was good too.
love the atmosphere, and theres free garage parking def not dog friendly as some suggested. one of the server, alexi was rude af. Food
This place is fantastic. My wife and I held our 95-person wedding reception/party in the backroom and on the patio and it went absolutely perfectly. First off, the space, drinks, and food were all excellent. Delicious appetizers, a great dinner buffet that included pasta, beef, and salmon (along with a multitude of sides), and some amazing late night snacks to keep the party going as the night went on. The kitchen was incredibly sensative to some of our guests dietary needs/restrictions/allergies and it meant everyone was happy and got their fill! The staff were fantastic. Sam (the venue manager) was incredibly communicative in the lead-up to the event, working with us to make sure no detail was spared, even while we communicated with him through time-zone differences (from Australia!). The staff on the night of the event were amazing, making sure everyone was happy, and making several last-minute changes to seating, A/V, and evening schedule with no issues at all to accomodate the usual bumps and hiccups that come with an event this size. I really cant say enough about how great a night it was. Both my wife and I couldnt have had more fun and we got repeated compliments from friends and family telling us it was one of their favourite weddings theyd attended. Thanks Granite team - you guys rule!
The beer collection was not very good. There is no sour one, and most of them taste a little over fermented. The back patio was nice tho
Great food, really nice staff and awesome beer. We ll be back soon!
I have been here for both a wedding and casually whenever we are craving fantastic food/beer. (They brew their own beer and it is awesome!) The space is very big and inviting and the large back patio/garden is very pretty. The staff is always super friendly. Love it here, one of my fave local spots. Will be back soon!
A neighbourhood favourite. Great food and drink and a nice place to relax.
Granite is an incredible wedding venue! The space has a beautiful outdoor courtyard for the ceremony, a covered back patio for cocktail hour, and an indoor restaurant space for the reception. It was great having everything in one place so guests didn t have to travel, while still feeling like a good flow of the day from one space to the next. Truly amazing to have everything in a downtown location. The staff were absolutely incredible to work with. They were so helpful and responsive in the lead up to the wedding, and provided excellent service on the day. Sam and Chris in particular made it such a smooth process and took care of everything we could have possibly needed. We did appetizers, a plated dinner and late night snacks, and all of it was wonderful. Our guests were very impressed with the food and drinks! We love Granite s beers and were so happy to have the full beer list available. But not to worry for any non-beer drinkers, there are also wine and bar rail options available. We have received so many compliments on our wedding, and I could not be happier with how it turned out. Thank you so much to the Granite team for making it such a special day!
We visited Granite Brewery for an Opera Revue performance, which is good by themselves. We tried two local beers, light and nice, I liked a Raspberry blonde ale - Ringberry - a bit more than Ringwood one. A garden salad with grilled chicken breast was OK, Almonds salmon and trout were really good! And I have to say that the service is very good!
A group of us had lunch after many years of not seeing much of each other. Food was good beer even better! Service was great. We have been going to the Brewery every since it opened. Love the place!
Great beers!l Lovely outdoor area at the back
We attended a wedding here on the Thanksgiving long weekend and it was amazing! The decor, the service, the food, the drinks, everything was excellent. Im not a beer person but hands down the only beer that I could tolerate and that was a discussion at our table of how beautiful it looked in terms of colour and the taste was*chefs kiss*. Everybody from the bride to the groom to the wedding party to the guests were very happy with the venue!
We used to love this place, but we visited here for lunch today and it was mediocre at best. My husband had the wings and I had the pulled pork poutine. The food was ok, but not great. The experience with the beer was really disappointing. My husband ordered the Peculiar. He knows he likes it, and it came room temperature. He didnt complain. I like IPAs but I didnt know which one to get. I was allowed one sample, and if I didnt like that beer, I was told I would have to order a flight of several beers to figure out which one I wanted. I didnt love the one sample, so I ordered a $12 flight of four IPAs suggested by the server, and really liked one called Cascadia Common. It seemed a waste of my $12 and of a lot of beer just to figure out which beer I wanted to drink with my lunch. Instead of immediately posting a review, I asked if it would be preferred to give feedback to the owner or manager. The server said she would see if hes around, and walked away. We waited a few minutes and decided to leave. He did catch us as we were leaving and defended the buying a flight policy, but offered a free can of beer. I wanted him to say they would work on improving things so that we could have a better experience next time. We did buy a few cans of beer before going home, but nothing about this experience makes us want to return. And I feel bad about that because we had our second date here (and others) and thought it was a really special place. Now it feels like a mediocre place. It definitely was not worth the drive, especially being close to the Eglinton crosstown construction mess.
Our favorite place for the last 15 years. Great food, out favorite beer, and the staff who always makes you feel welcome! We also love that this is actually a very rare bar where you can have a conversation with the people around your table. I guess its because of the spacious rooms and no music.
I attended a wedding at Granite this weekend and it was delightful! The courtyard is a beautiful tucked away spot that was perfect for the ceremony. Even mid October the garden was beautiful. The food was great, and all dietary needs seemed to be met for everyone. The staff there were so kind and even helped me arrange to get the mother of the groom slippers delivered when her feet were sore. Thank you for a beautiful time!
Attended a wedding here on the weekend and holy moly the food was SO good, much better than a typical wedding venue. The soup (butternut squash) was probably my favourite part.
Loved it, great beer and burgers. Fish and chips were awesome too!! Definitely going back
This has become our local, We have lived in the area for 3 years searching for such a place and now found it. Jimmy so helpful and kind.
Finally, a restaurant that serves curry meal. I enjoy curry meals. This place served a great chicken curry. One day, I should try a lamb curry.
Awesome Chicken Quesadillas!!
A hidden gem of a brewery with some great beers!
Delicious food and excellent beer. The atmosphere is cozy and prices reasonable. Highly recommended.
Disappointing to see standards of service fall here. Had another poor experience here yesterday. Server didnt bring menus, or the water asked for, or check to notice that the wings didnt have sauce on them when brought out, or care that the fries were cold, that the wings were lukewarm, or that the cutlery was missing. At least I knew where the condiments were kept, so I could get them myself. Beers still good, but sheesh, its good at a lot of places now. Cmon. Standards have fallen.
It pains me to write this review, but it needs to get off my chest. Years ago I ate here on a regular basis, and the food was acceptable pub grub. We moved up north to get away from psychos in face diapers spraying disinfectant all over their bodies, so we hadnt been to Granite Brewery since before the Scamdemic. I was initially glad to see it had survived. Manager Owen is an asset to the venue; a very pleasant, decent man. As for the food, it was atrocious. Im Greek, so I know food. The guacamole bruschetta was a failed attempt at Mexi-Ital fusion. The key to bruschetta is toasting the bread so that the moist topping doesnt make it soggy. Instead, they used fresh, soft bread, which quickly became soggy and had an unpleasant chew. Also, they appear to have added cheddar or some other hard cheese on top, which they appear to have attempted in futility to melt. I wouldnt serve the souvlaki dinner in a refugee camp. The chicken meat was BRINED! Who brines souvlaki? It tasted SOGGY. When basmati is cooked properly, it has some bite and the flavour of the aged rice comes through. This rice was was WET AND FLAVOURLESS! The tzatziki tasted off, as if they were using mayo or a past-expiry, unstrained yogurt, and not putting in enough garlic or shredded cucumber. The Greek salad tasted like the dressing was out of a jar, though to their credit, they didnt skimp on feta. Youd think they couldnt screw up my sons chicken fingers with fries because the fingers were frozen, but they did! The chicken and the fries were both fried in old oil (I can tell). Both chicken and fries were dark and had unpleasant flavour overtones. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The calamari was rubbery (overcooked by about a minute to a minute and a half), like donkey foreskin. My son was having trouble chewing it, but he loves calamari so much and was so hungry, he did his best to get through it. You could see the poor little guy really working each piece. At one point while I was chatting with Owen, my son began to choke on an extra-rubbery piece that he spit out, then he gave up on the dish. Thats when I tried it and realized what the problem was. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The mashed potatoes were good, but the meatloaf had very little meat in it. A good meatloaf has a meaty chew to it (Rebel House used to make a fantastic one, as did The Canary). A pubs meatloaf will make or break the place. This meatloaf was clearly full of breadcrumbs or some other filler. I was given two thin slices of it. It was covered in gravy. I had to eat it quickly because it was disintegrating on my plate. It had the consistency of stuffing covered in gravy (except stuffing has awesome flavour). I was so hungry after I was done my meal that we had to get takeout on the way home so that I could kill the hunger pangs. Granite Brewery is basically a drinking hole and retail brewery that happens to serve food. Reading the positive reviews for this place, I can only assume that people primarily go here to drink. A drunk will think that a man wearing a dress looks like Marilyn Monroe; and hell think that waterlogged chicken souvlaki tastes like manna teleported down from Mount Olympus. FYI, I didnt see any attractive women there, so dont expect any action (God I miss the Chick N Deli). I regret not sending all our food back, but I really wanted to like my old stomping grounds, and the degree of awfulness of the food did not fully sink in until we were walking back to our car. Our experience at this venue last night is so indicative of everything wrong with our society. Customer service & product quality have plummeted, yet people keep stoically lining up at the trough to consume the slop. $120 (no drinks) down the drain. I could have bought my son 3 Lego building kits for that! Actually, for 1/3 the price the three of us could have eaten like royalty at Square Boy or Johnnys Hamburgers, and had enough left over for 2 Lego building kits. I feel pickpocketed. But I blame myself. I allowed my sentimentality to get in the way of my sensibilities.
This is an amazing establishment. The food is so tasty with great value and portions. The staff is friendly and kind. The wait staff is knowledgeable about ingredients and the variety of drinks. The atmosphere reminds me of a pub in the uk. Over all I am very pleased with the whole place, everything was perfect for our event and we cant wait to go back. Thank you to all who work here as you Made a surprise extra special and we appreciate it so much
Great place. Great service, great atmosphere. My peeve: Fish batter way too thick. Even taking off batter to get to fish there was still so much stuff to scrape off Service
BEST EVERYTHING. STAFF? EVEN BETTER! :)
Over 30yrs as a Brew Pub in the same location with the best craftsmen where perfection is the standard, not just an unattainable goal. The experience was perfect.
This place has easily become a go-to for drinks with friends or to watch the game. Great selection of beer that has yet to disappoint. Ive found several seasonal favorites that I know Ill be anticipating each year. Take home cans of their beers are also available from their beer store. Food wise: In the times Ive had a meal here, Id say its hit or miss. Sometimes its amazing, sometimes its just okay. Fish and chips are a must, one of the best items on the menu. Pulled pork poutine (really pulled pork cheese fries as they use shredded cheese not curds) is a great quick bite. If youre lucky enough to pop in when the veal parm sandwich special is around, get it. Drink selection: They have a great selection. No matter your taste theres something for you. Ringwood has become an easy drinking go to and is available year round. Dark side is a great dark ipa, Shiro is also a great choice if you like brown ales. Theyre part of their rotating selection though so grab them when theyre on tap (right now). I also enjoy their stouts, nice flavourful and smooth. Service: Ive not been disappointed by the service here. The bartenders and wait staff are courteous and efficient and quick to resolve any issues you might have with your order. Anytime Ive mentioned an allergy they ensure that its a non-issue with my food. Atmosphere/seating: Up front they have two small seating areas and the bar with stools, and the rear has a full dining area thats regularly rented for events. It has a cozy, comfortable homey feel. During the summer they have patio seating available. TVs are set up around the bar area to catch the game. Parking: Street parking is nearby, but theres also a garage that you can park in that they offer validation for. Entrance to the parking garage is just south of the restaurant entrance, after where the old Shoppers used to be. Beers pictured: Shiro (Fuller dark beer), Ringwood and Dark side (Mostly finished dark). Vegetarian options: Theres some vegetarian offerings on the menu like a beet and sunflower burger and salads. Dietary restrictions: They do have gluten free offerings on the menu, though I am unsure of how they handle potential cross contamination.
Food is good. Beer is great. Staff friendly. Ron is an absolute champion in the beer industry. The location has a big back room and even a patio. A decent front room and bar, and another patio. This place is a must. Bring friends and a sense of humour. Parking: The beer is much better than the parking.
For those who like a good pub with its own beer production, good food, good location and accessibility this is definitely the right place. Granite is very well located on Avenida Egliton, close to many shops, private parking, public parking and the metro station. The brewery has an outdoor area for the spring and summer periods, a bar lounge area, and an indoor area with a fireplace. Local production takes place right there at the brewery, and you can see the boilers when you go to the washrooms. Speaking of accessibility: the house has an accessible entrance with a spring door, but without automatic activation (which makes it difficult for wheelchair users, users of crutches or walkers to enter. They have an adapted bathroom with support bars and spring doors (the bathroom door it also requires automatic opening). All the sink taps are automatic and so is the waste disposal container. They have no internal steps and the tables are spacious for aligning supports for walking. I asked the restaurant when the menu was in Braille, but the attendant couldnt answer me, so the person I was with needed my help with the order. The service at the house is very pleasant, but now at the end of the year, everything is very busy and it may take a while for you to be served at the table. They have their own store, with souvenir items and beers to take home or as a gift. The menu is wonderful and the fish and cheaps is certainly one of the best Ive ever tasted. For those thinking of going with children, the restaurant has seats for older children and high chairs for younger ones, as well as a childrens menu for lunch and brunch. Its really worth visiting, especially since the beers are great. Vegetarian options: They have a menu with snacks without the addition of animal products, as well as salads, pasta and portions of cheese, fries and onions. Parking: Parking lots are public parking lots on the street, where you need to park your car in a space and enter the amount of time you will stay. If it passes, you need to update the application. They also have covered parking in some buildings in the region and cost on average 15 dollars an hour Kid-friendliness: They have a menu for children, both for lunch and brunch. And they have a seat adapted for older children and a high chair for babies. Wheelchair accessibility: They have adapted bathrooms with support bars, no internal or external steps, tables that accommodate wheelchairs and other items to support mobility. Doors use springs, I dont try to activate them automatically
The food and atmosphere was fantastic, Im a regular
5 stars but honestly should be higher. From the outside this hidden gem goes unnoticed. However, beyond the pub-like bar in the front is a beautiful place to have a wedding or event with a mix of an outdoor green space, patio, and inside venue. The food was absolutely amazing, the cook there needs a raise! The organizing staff was an absolute delight and they really cater to the guests and are very experienced and adapt well to last minute changes. The bar staff is pleasant and the owners have near perfected their own brews. After having our wedding here, I would have liked to come back the next day to do it all over again. My guests for my wedding loved everything about this place and everyone is hoping to return again very soon for the ale, food, and hospitality. Well done granite brewery staff. I will be trying to find any reason to celebrate just to book there again. Thank you everyone! Final words: Unforgettable, hidden gem, and Exceptional! Vegetarian options: Vegetables were plenty and cooked to perfection. Parking: Hard to find the underground but easy to not pay for parking as you mat free exit with visiting the brewery.
I attended a wedding ceremony and reception here this July 1st weekend. The Granite Brewery facility was great, and the staff was FABULOUS. If I could give higher than 5 stars I surely would. Extraordinary job folks!
We just had our wedding at Granite and it was the most perfect experience we could have had! We were looking for an intimate and chill vibe, and Granite definitely delivered. Sam was really helpful in helping us figure out everything that made the most sense for us, and on the day of the wedding, Chris was the MVP of the day. He immediately helped whenever we were looking for something, and when we had issues, he responded within seconds. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking for a smaller venue who really cares about the experience of the bride and groom <3
Great place, I really enjoy it here. Food is great, drinks are good and the selection is great!
Despite having made my presence known I waited 15mins for service which never came. Took my business elsewhere. Doubt I will be back.
We really enjoyed our night here! Great food quality with nice service & drinks. Highly recommended. The patio has also good vibes.
Visited here multiple times and love the food and atmosphere. They have a dog-friendly patio, friendly staff and even sell their beer next door. Definitely worth the visit for anyone in the area.
We held our wedding here last weekend and it was beautiful. Little would I have known about the cosy courtyard Granite had out back if we hadnt dropped by for a drink. Would we have our wedding here again? 100% yes. We have only the best to say about our experience. Sam did everything he could to make sure we could plan the most amazing wedding at Granite. Chris, Owen, Ada, Tiffany, and Tina helped make the day itself a success and made sure every guest was taken care of. Our guests loved how private and intimate the whole venue was and each of them had such a good time especially with the food, drinks, and the dance floor.
Great brewery. Very good fresh ilocally brewed beer. Huge place inside and rear patio! Generous tasty portions. Our waitress Lindsay was very nice. Will be back!
Amazing experience! The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly! We will definitely come back!
Such a hidden midtown gem! The patio in the back is such a respite from the neverending construction in the area. The beers and food are great too!
Had a dark stout, and a Mediterranean lamb burger with fries, both were awesome! Staff were friendly and quick.
Lovely bar. Specialty in English bitters and ales - very nice American style beers and IPAs as well. Very friendly staff - cheers!
Excellent service & Excellent food , definitely go back again.
Absolutely love this place, the traditional English beer is by far the most authentic you will find anywhere, the best bitter special is better than the bitters I used to drink back home in England. But it doesnt stop there, the new styles that they are putting out certainly dont fall short, they are amazing examples of new and exciting styles with something new being brewed all the time. The pub has the real traditional English charm and is also family friendly. The lamb curry is probably one of the best I have had in the city and the fish and chips are my two daughters favourite. If you want an awesome pint and some great pub grub to go with it then this is a must try. Cheers.
Wedding: We had our wedding at the Granite in October 2022. Sam and the team at the Granite were phenomenal in making our wedding experience lovely and smooth. Their pricing is very transparent, and available on their website, vs a lot of venues that have a lot of extra and hidden add-ons. They were also very accommodating with our requests like setting up an additional area for a tea ceremony, bringing in our own desserts from our cultures, and even bringing in a mariachi band during the reception! Sam was always very responsive to our emails, which made things easy while we were planning. All in all, we would 101982039482% recommend booking your wedding at the Granite! Non-wedding: The Granite has awesome beers, food, and service. We discovered it when we were looking for venues for our wedding, and have been back several times! We will definitely be back soon. Another plus is the free parking in the basement!
Great atmosphere with friendly service.
My partner and I went for dinner at this place. The food and beer were ok, but the servers were AWFUL. Probably our WORST EXPERIENCE when it comes to service in Toronto (so far)... When we arrived, a waiter TOSSED the menu on our table... We waited for 15 MINUTES to finally be able to order a beer. After that, we wanted some food and it was SO HARD to get our waitress to simply look at our table - it felt like she was trying to avoid us! I were finally able to get the attention of ANOTHER waiter, who instead of taking our order rudely went away to get our waitress (which IS NOT common at all). I would generally understand long waiting times when a place is packed, but the place wasnt full at all... theres no reason for this kind of behaviour. You should provide a better training for your servers.
Food is always delicious. Beer always fresh Parking: Free underground parking Food : 5/5 |
We had out wedding at the granite in September of 2022 and it was absolutely PHENOMENAL. The staff were amazing, the food delicious and they served good sized portions (not too big or too small). The team was incredibly responsive in the planning process and flawlessly executed the vision on the day-of. Really great, nothing bad to say. Oh, and lastly - it was a very fair and reasonable price. A total gem - we got service beyond what we would have expected and felt good about supporting a local business with a long history in the neighbourhood. Win-win!
No idea how this place has such good reviews. Maybe purely based on price as it is cheap. Neither food nor drinks were good. Food was pretty appalling, chicken tenders cooked in oil that had clearly been used many times already, quality of food and way it was cooked were terrible. My friends weren t impressed with beer either. Sadly I would avoid this place at all costs and won t be going back. Worst meal by a long shot of my recent trip in Toronto. Shame as the servers are very friendly so if the place seriously improved food and drink it could actually be a decent place to go and location is good.
Wedding: We had our wedding at the Granite in mid-October 2022 and cannot say enough good things about our experience. We originally met with Ron in November 2021 to view the venue, discuss dates and options as we do not live in the GTA (but both our families do). Needless to say, that first meeting went great & we locked in our date. During the months leading up to the wedding we were dealing with Sam who was more than helpful with all of our questions and getting everything in order for us. Again, being located in Ottawa and only using email & phone calls to communicate worked great for us and our minds were at ease. A couple days before the event we met with Chris (manager) to drop off some decorations and discuss the final few items (seating, final numbers, food allergies, etc.), and he was very professional with us, and you could see he knew what he was doing (I think he said it was their 35th wedding of the year, so that tells you a few things). Day of the wedding, everything went seamlessly, all was well organized with the guests being seated in the courtyard for the ceremony, followed by cocktails under the tent afterwards. Dinner service was also well organized (buffet), the food was fantastic, and there was more than enough for all of our guests, a lot of which went for second helpings. Desserts, coffee, tea, etc were all served immediately after dinner and all tasted great as well. We did late night snacks as well, which were appreciated by all of our guests and Sams recommendations for the amounts to order were spot on. Drink services were well done all evening with no one waiting too long at any point. All of our guests have been complimenting how good the venue was, the staff, the food, and the atmosphere. We would have absolutely no concerns in recommending the Granite for someones wedding in the future.
Ive been going here for years and I maintain, youll go for either the food or beer and marvel at how good the other is as well! Good food, good, drink good times await!
Very good place with friends
Great pub, great food and great beer creations!
