Figs Breakfast & Lunch is a family-run restaurant located in downtown Toronto. The menu consists of many traditional breakfast and lunch items, including the best Eggs Benedict in Toronto.
I ordered Greek Omlette, which had maaaaybe only ONE black olive cut to 2-3 pieces:)). Please name it differently:)) The toasts were good and buttery. Recommendation to the Figs’: I didn't get that why there were two types of fried potatoes :)). Would it be better to replace it with fruits or something else? The atmosphere was ok, as you can see in the picture, nothing eye catching.
They have a pretty good amount of seating and wasn’t hard to get a table for two on a weekday afternoon. One complaint I have with the space is that it definitely gets cold anytime someone opens the door to come in or come out and you’re anywhere near the entrance. There’s no vestibule to break the wind. Had the Meat Lovers breakfast, which was a lot of food. I didn’t really like the taste of the beans much, and I can’t say that the rest of the food was that tasty either. It is a lot of food though for an affordable price, so if you’re hungry and need a quick bite in the area, it’s a good option to come by.
Worst. Diner. Ever. This place is by FAR the worst restaurant I’ve stepped into over a decade. Never returning and it’s shocking that they’re still operating with high star reviews. Food: The gravy was cold when it arrived and what was present in it was clearly questionable. Even though we flagged it and he noticed it as a food quality issue, we never got an apology and he shrugged it off as a harmless mistake. The chicken was beyond dry and tasted like sand. Fries were cold and tasted like old oil. Service: This one was beyond me. Leo (one of the owners apparently) really shouldn’t be working on the floor. His service was horrible. He was happy to seat another couple at a four person table, and even though another four table was open, insisted that we sit at a two seater next to the door. We never had our waters re-filled the entire duration we were there, even though other tables got it refilled twice. Best of all, he treats you like you owe him a thousand dollars. If you want your day ruined by poor service, and tasteless food, this is the place to go, it won’t disappoint. I know I’ll be avoiding it like the plague.
We ate well, the service was fast and efficient, but there was still pressure to leave your seat for others, which makes sense given how busy it is. Please note that coffee is not included with breakfast, which surprised us, since filter coffee is usually included with a meal in Quebec. Otherwise good service, courteous and friendly staff. Affordable price and generous portions. I'll go back if I'm back in Toronto.
Figs is a gem! The eggs benedict was cooked to perfection, and the hot chocolate was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience wonderful. The cozy atmosphere and generous portions make this place a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning—and I recommend coming with a friend or family to enjoy it even more! ☺️
If you appreciate good food, specifically eggs Benedict and being served attentive, kind staff please come here. The owner who established this restaurant 15 years ago is mild mannered and humble. I was introduced to eggs Benedict in my early teens and at some point realized there is a huge difference between good ones and not so good ones. In my 3 decades of trying different ones I can honestly say this was one of the best if not the best I have had. Thank you for the comfortable special experience. I will be back. Charming brunch spot which serves classics done to perfection. The pancakes and meat dish are a blunt weapon, softening you up for the precise slice of the sublime eggs Benedict, which are as well cooked and balanced as any I’ve ever had. The food isn’t greasy or oily, meaning that you leave feeling pleasantly full and ready to take on the day. Great value as well.
it’s great value, not the fanciest brunch place but it’s the spot if you want great thoughtful taste for good value. portions of fries could be more generous, otherwise all plates we ordered were quite satisfying. the eggs benedict are AMAZING. must try, one of my faves in the city, absolute best in this end of town. cash or debit only.
No seperate Bills ?
I got the English breakfast, the potatoes were a bit bland but the rest of the items were adequately seasoned. Decent value and service.
Great breakfast spot with a nice neighborhood feel and very decently priced!
Classic Eggs Benedict were 10/10! Staff were very friendly and quick! Hidden gem for sure Food : 5/5
Best Scrambled in town!
Delicious lunch, courteous and friendly service, lovely atmosphere.
Best breakfast ever. Very rich and delicious breakfast and all served by super friendly and authentic staff. I can only recommend it to everyone. Gladly again
Great food even better staff, 10/10 would recommend, I ve tried now 5 items off the menu now and all have exceeded expectations
I just happened to be working in the area and Googled breakfast spots. After reading some reviews, which were either 5 stars or 1 star, I decided to try. I ordered the corn beef hash breakfast, and when it arrived, I was skeptical. The corn beef was just shaved corn beef, like the stuff you get in sandwiches, not chunks or ground up (my favorite style). The hash itself was delicious. Shredded potatoes, onions, and peppers. It was so good, it didnt need corn beef. The over easy eggs were perfectly cooked. It didnt come with toast, which is perfect for me since I dont usually eat the toast. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Im hoping I work in the area more.
Figs is a local breakfast restaurant, I come here every time Im in the mood for a big breakfast. The price to value is really good, the staff has always been wonderful. This is a quiet little neighborhood spot, and thats what you come here for.
It was tasty and service was great
Delicious breakfast !
Fantastic first try. Great service and atmosphere. The food was amazing. Highly recommend it!
Good prices, quality home style meal
Best breakfast Ive found yet. Clean washroom, Im blown away. Price is fantastic, I would come here weekly if I lived here. The eggs bennectic was one of the best Ive had AND it comes with 3! As it should lol what a find!
Rushed in rushed out -. Plates were removed before we were done eating, the waitress goal was to just get people out as fast as possible. Not a good vibe not a good experience. there are better alternatives nearby for a good breakfast. Food
Food was very scrumptious and filling. I am very hard to fill up at most restaurants I need to order two servings. That was not a requirement here. Id recommend the eggs Benedict with peamale bacon, and their fresh orange juice. On another note, the staff were the most friendly and happy (genuinely it seemed no fake smiles) out of anywhere Ive been. Their positive mood was contagious.
5-star breakfast place in the city.
Phenominal breakfast considering the price. Typical eggs benedict only include 2 eggs which is never enough. Here the default is 3. The food is great and the price is fair. Highly recommend for breakfast!
Wont let you sit at a table until your full party arrives. $75 for 3 meals and coffee is absurd. They only take cash or debit. Food is not worth the price.
best service with the best food
I love this place. Service is invariably friendly and fast. The food is diner-style, perfectly prepared: the cooks in their tiny galley kitchen really know their stuff. Hours are limited: closing time is listed as 3pm, but ive arrived at 2:30 to find the blinds pulled and floor mid-mopping. Kid friendly, high chairs available. Washrooms on main level. No splitting cheques.
Great food and very friendly staff :)
The lady in charge of cashing needs to rethink her attitude - she is execrable and unfriendly! Low-end coffee, nothing exceptional. Nearby places are worth stopping, dont waste your time.
Always so good! Service is always great :)
Great little spot. Great food and excellent service
I love this place. The entire vibe and atmosphere is breakfast greasy spoon, but then the presentation of food, and the attentive and accommodating employees that elevate the experience make this my go-to spot most weekend mornings with my partner. Once youve tried their potato hash, going anywhere else for potatoes isnt a thing. Quite literally a gem given the surrounding area, but its one that has certainly stood the test time and remains a community staple.
LOVE ! Quick , delicious and extremely friendly . What a great place :)
Delicious food for great prices! was prepared quick
This is the second time Ive visited this restaurant with my mother of 89 years. On both occassions we have had a negatve interaction with the owner. Today my mother arrived 5 minutes earlier than I, was seated then approached and pressured by the owner to order her food immediately despite being told that I would be there shortly. If you actually want to sit down and enjoy a meal with friends/family and not feel rushed this is not the place for you. Despite having very good food (compliments to the kitchen staff) the owner either wants to churn tables as fast as he can or he wanted us out quickly because we don t fit the profile of his preferred clientele. We won t be returning.
This restaurant is one of my happy places. The service is impeccable and the food has so much heart!
Food 10/10. Prices amazing given inflation and eating out now. I went for the first time today on a Sunday at noon, didnt have to wait and the place didnt fill up again until about 1:10 but still no lineups ever while I was there. Food came out fast and fresh, water refilled often, our satisfaction our our meals and if we needed anything else was checked on 2x. BUT 3 staff tried to take my plate before I was done and 11x staff came up to hurry us to choose our order, hurry us to pay, take our plates away, take our cash, hurry us to leave. I even made a comment to my server (male) you guys really want us to leave. He said take your time and pay when youre ready however with over 12 visits from staff in less than 90min sitting there I felt a pressure I should not for a Sunday afternoon lunch
some of the best eggs Benny I ve had in a long time. And the fruit was super fresh and sweet!! New favourite place
Reuben Benedict! Wow !
Came here one weekend to check out a new neighborhood spot. The service was good but unfortunately my husband and I didnt really enjoy the food, especially for the prices. I got the eggs benedict with bacon and he got the philly burger. Everything felt very dry.
It was a great experience. Delicious Benedict and their hollandaise sauce was the best I ve ever had. The waitress who took care of us was the nicest and can t wait to go back there again. Vegetarian options: California Benedict and other option.
We tried American omelette and smoked salmon omelette. Both tasted really delicious and the portions were big. Each omelette came with two toast breads (white and whole options). We also got coffee which was good too. My only complaint is that we had gotten our espresso drinks on the way of walking there and they asked us to finish them before heading to our table. This was kind of unfair because they had a line and we knew we would be waiting before being seated and eventually we ordered more coffee too.
My wife and I have come to Figs before, but it is consistently great. I had the peameal eggs Benny and my wife had the waffle. The food is great and fresh, the wait staff was amazing, and the prices were very decent, especially for downtown
Good food, good service, small place tho, thankfully we got there early and got a table without having to wait in line. But after we sat, we saw people waiting outside for long time, food is yummy and prices are very decent for the portions. Would recommend.
I love this cheerful, unpretentious little diner. Still delicious, homey, affordable. They definitely know their way around a griddle!
The staff was friendly and quick to respond to your request.
Great place for tasty breakfast.
Food was delicious on my first time visit. Definitely will return again.
The eggs Benedict (this is the florentine) was to diiiiiie for. So flavorful, fresh. I think we got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Will definitely be returning !
Wonderful coffee. I came back to Brazil and Im sad, drinking not so good hot chocolate here in Brazil. The male waiter is very helpful. The older female waitress is surly.
My go to place when in the area.
Great service and clean establishment! The food is also great at an affordable price.
This morning two of us ordered the variety breakfast, and it was amazing. Food was ready quickly, and for what we were paying, the portions were awesome. Service was divided between two staff members, both of whom were friendly, extremely polite & helpful. Definitely my go to place to take someone for breakfast to!
Tidy place with high quality simple fresh food choices. Lots of breakfast, brunch, lunch options. Reasonable prices, friendly service.
Fantastic brunch spot with tons to choose from on their menu, I got the Florentine eggs Benny and French toast. Great brunch spot for something sweet and savoury to start off your day.
Cash or debit only. But boy! The Reuben egg Benedict is beyond the world
Was not allowed to sit and wait for my brother-in law at a table, while there were only three tables occupied in the restaurant. Not warm customer service, instead controlling, rigid customer service on a Tuesday, mid week. Won t be back to the Fig!
I use a great mechanic ( Vortech motors ) near by so I have come to figs 4 x a year when I get my car serviced . I arrived at 8 am and asked to te seated at a table in the shade. I explained to the owner that I would be less than an hour eating my breakfast . The only table they offered to me was a table for 2 by the cash register and I would have to face a wall away from the entire restaurant to avoid the sunlight . There were 12 empty tables but most were tables of 4) in the past I have dined solo and I have been allowed to sit at a table of 4). The owner refused to let me sit at a table of 4 where it was shady and said all the tables were reserved for large groups . It s unfortunate because I would have continued to be a customer at figs . I don t linger at the restaurant just eat and go and as it was not a weekend and at 8 am there were only 3 tables used ( only 1 group of 4) rest were parties of 2 , I no longer will recommend Figs. It was not a weekend or stat holiday : ironically I have conversed with the owner before as she knows my mechanic so it s disappointing she was unreasonable since 80% of the restaurant tables were empty when I arrived . I went elsewhere for breakfast and wanted to say whether I am a weekly regular or seasonal customer why not show flexibility when it s a weekday rather than offer me only one table next to the cash register. Usually I go in and seat myself but today I waited to be seated .
Veggie sandwich was great Greek omelet was nice eggs Benny was over cooked amd pemeal was a bit tough but taste was beautiful. Homefries are amazing amd coffee was good. Portion size was good.
Forced fully charged 20% tip. Service was bad.
They don t accept credit card. Food quality was meh. Server/Owner fake laugh and forcefully adding extra amount as tip is scam.
Love this place!!
Delicious breakfast and brunch diner. Highly recommend it and for the diner ambiance.
I had a great breakfast experience . The food was absolutely delicious, even the simple tomato on the side was a treat. The service was super speedy and the prices were very reasonable. We paid $56 CAD, including tip, for three plates and two coffees. Im already looking forward to going back and trying the eggs benedict!
Best food near me
One of the last few family owned breakfast spots that are good value for money. Loved the English breakfast here. Food
Variety breakfast was good based on quality, taste,price-wise and portion size. Waitresses were welcoming and helpful(I give them 5 stars) The only reason I give them 3 stars for Service, is that for weekend brunch they won t split bills, they won t accept credit cards, they charge more if you wanna pay with Debit card and they only accept cash. That s nonsense for such a nice restaurant. Hope they fix this issue.
So glad we discovered this place! We were seated right away and the host was attentive, friendly, and professional. The menu options were diverse and everything came out hot and fresh and DELICIOUS! The chef was meticulous about quality and cleanliness. All of our diverse meals were cooked to perfection, and he was also thorough about cleaning the cooking space. The portions were generous and they gave BOTH potatoes and hash browns! All at a very reasonable price! The only inconvenience was that they only accept cash or debit and we are from out of town, but that was not a big problem at all. We had a wonderful experience here and highly recommend!
The Eggs Benny here are probably about the best Ive ever had in my life; I had the Florentine. My recommendation for Sunday brunch is to come as early as possible. The server was very attentive and the food comes quick. Table space is at a premium here, which is the reason you might want to get here a little early. Parking is on either side of the street.
So Im writing this review after two visits and I gotta say this place is quickly climbing up to the top pound for pound spot for my brunch spot. 1st visit - I got the English breakfast. Excellent. Between the beans, toast and hash I was very satisfied. The big appetites should be aware you only get 2 sausage links, but it was perfect for me. The mushroom and grilled tomato was also nicely done. 2nd visit - I got the Corned Beef Hash. Pretty good. Solid CBH overall that was quite tasty with slices of corned beef and 3 eggs to top it off. Very good portion for me and I had a tasty meal. I think the next time, Ill get a side of hollandaise to take it to the next level. So Ill be a little real and add that on my second visit, it was a bit of tough morning and the vibe at the table wasnt great. Between the servers and the owner (who takes the order and processes the check) they were really fantastic about noticing that vibe, getting our food quickly and taking care of our refills. I did notice that (used to work in the industry) and was silently grateful for effort. The thing that I was the MOST impressed by was when I was paying the check. The owner was processing the transaction and made a couple of lighthearted comments that literally made me chuckle the first time all morning. I have to say that this place seems like another diner brunch spot, but the quality of the food and the service is absolute class. That guy did not have to try to make my day better but he got me to smile and changed my whole day. I did not expect that. 5 out of 5. This is a place you can hang your hat.
Great service, friendly staff and yummy foood
Love this place! Amazing team and food! Unique diner style spot! Great for brunch!
Good portions, reasonably priced, fast, kind service - a bit of a throwback, in the best way. They take cash or debit. Food
Really great brunch spot, food is excellent and reasonably priced, served fast and usually no wait time like other brunch spots in the area.
great breakfast and great price
Service was sufficient but lackluster. Arrived to be greeted with a miserable stare. Couldnt choose my preferred seat i.e. I, a guest of one was seated in a table with the capacitance for 4, there existed plenty tables for two (min seat cap per table). Choosing wasnt an option. Average pancakes and egg, bacon and potatoes. decent sausage. And acceptable portion size. All in all, a forgettable but filling meal.
was a very nice place to go for a nice meal
One of the best brunches I ve had in the city! It s also very affordable. I got the variety breakfast, which came with three eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, and bread for just $12!! In this economy?! My friend got one of the egg bennys. We both enjoyed our food very much, and sitting near the door with the breeze coming in on a hot summer day was a good vibe indeed. The service was excellent and the food came out so fast. What a neighborhood gem! Can t wait to come back and try something else
Only go here if you wanna get berated by the cleaning lady while you are having food
The waiter didn t hear my request of no sausages, which ended up in them having to take back the food. That was inconvenient but we got waffles after that, which were nice. Place is small and was busy, so we felt quite rushed to get out asap.
Nice little restaurant!
Figs is a very cozy restaurant. We went there for brunch and enjoyed the food a lot. The waiter and waitress over here welcomed us happily. Their food and service was amazing. Food : 5/5
Good food at reasonable prices. The hash browns were especially delicious!
Very nice staff and food is always good.
Nice environment with friendly, smiling service and good tasty food. Highly recommended.
Fast, fresh, hot. Always good service and you can tell there s love put into it. Everything a local breakfast spot should be.
- It s an egg place - The lady owner/manager is rude and not friendly - They don t accept credit cards - They don t split your bill Enough reasons not to go there again
What a place
The servers where nice the food was good
Really nice place to have breakfast. Generous portions and good service.
Had the special salmon sandwich, the sandwich had plenty of salmon, plus onions, capers, spinach and feta; and included a very nice house salad. Great value.
The food was great and excellent service
Figs is a reliable place for good fresh breakfast fare. The service is always good and they include some fresh veg on some of the plates, which I appreciate. Eggs Benedict options are great and lrge portions - enough to share if you don t want to eat that much.
Such a lovely brunch spot! Really fresh ingredients, huge portions, affordable pricing and outstanding service. Can t recommend this place enough!!
Best eggs Benedict in town. My favorite is the Reuben style
was a nice place with great food and good service
Service was 20/10, very hospitable from the moment we walked in. Great vibe for breakfast and excellent prices. Highly recommend.
What a lovely little restaurant! Noticed the nice signage while passing by and decided to stop in (Tuesday morning around 11:30am). Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming the moment we walked in. Adorable atmosphere, and very quick service. Food was very delicious and a great value for the portion sizes. I can imagine they are very busy on a weekend morning but definitely worth any wait. Only thing to note in advance is they are cash and debit only (which is prominently displayed when you arrive so it s not a surprise when you get your bill!) but would be something to know in advance.
Nice little restaurant, good service
Fast, affordable, and good food. I enjoyed my breakfast and the staff were nice. This place is busy, a good sign. Try the Corn Beef hash, very tasty
Great value and exactly the menu you want from a breakfast diner.
My favourite breakfast spot in Toronto!!! Been going to them for years and every time I go it s amazing
Was there for the first time and would recommend it whole heartely. Ill definitely be adding it to my list of places to eat when Im in town. The food was good (got the latkes ) and the staff was super nice and friendly. And to quickly touch upon a comment below...they did ask to use debit if I had it but I was still given the option to use a credit card.
Best Benedict in the city! Leo & the Figs family are a Toronto gem. Cant recommend this place enough!
We were delighted with our experience at this breakfast place. The service was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The selection of fresh ingredients and variety of dishes made the breakfast not only tasty but also healthy. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious start to the day!
Service is so attentive and thoughtful and the food is great. One of my favourites
Weve been to many all day breakfast restaurants over the years, and this was the best one yet! It was clean, the service was fantastic, and the staff friendly.
This place is poppin on the weekend but they know how to keep it flowing. Great food, great service. I didnt get any photos but go check it out you wont be disappointed!
This was hands down the best breakfast place I ve had in Toronto. Food was great, got the food within 5 to 10 minutes and the service was the best we ve experienced in Toronto
it has this homey vibe
A spot for breakfast featuring good service. While the food didnt leave me amazed, the attentive service more than made up for it. The location boasts large windows offering a charming street view, and the straightforward menu provides a variety of breakfast choices to enjoy.
It was busy but we were seated very fast, service was great and quick especially during a busy Sunday morning. Food was really really good! Prices were great. It s cash only or debit only and no atm inside so come prepared but everything was phenomenal.
Good food + vibe.
I go to this place occasionally; the food is great, and I love it. However, something I didnt like is that we didnt ask for the receipt, and the waitress brought it to our table while we were still eating. We were planning to order more, but we decided to finish quickly and leave. Nothing against the waitress she was very nice and sweet. We had waited outside for about 15 minutes to get a table, and it felt like a quick eat-and-leave situation. Also not split bill?
Easily the best place for a great brunch with amazing service and passionate chefs in a cozy and unique space! A super quick drive from Kincardine for me and so, so worth it every time!!
Experienced Figs for the first time today for a Sunday Brunch. There was 6 of us. A few things to note up front: Payment is only Debit or Cash No split bills Only one coffee refill No alcohol The food service was very fast and it was delicious. Their Benedict s were delicious. Lucky food is so fast just one coffee refill ends up being almost enough. Their mugs are very small and personally I would prefer more coffee if there is not alcohol available. I opted for the Ruben s corn beef Benedict, it comes with 3 poached eggs on English muffins with potatoes and hash browns. They also add a separate bowl of fresh fruit.
I really enjoy eating here! The menu selection is considerable and includes what youd expect from a breakfast place. Portions are big and taste great! Very reasonably priced, fast and friendly service. The staff are warm and welcoming, attentive and polite. Check this restaurant out!
A wee little gem. A favourite neighbourhood gathering place. Great service, mellow atmosphere and fabulous food! Food : 5/5
Great food at a good price. Ive lived in the neighbourhood for years and never realized this place was here. They make great eggs, bacon, and french toast!
Love this place! Eaten here a fair few times now on the weekend and the service is always great, food is solid, and the portions are generous. Their eggs bennies are a good option - you get three of them, instead of the standard two, and the price is comparable to bennies at other places. This is one of our weekend favorites - we always have leftovers for lunch! Cash or debit only and you pay at the counter. Service is always spot on, even when they are busy!
Interior design seems like you are in the 1960s, the food was not delicious, they don t accept credit cards, and I paid $6 for non fresh fruits. Probably it was my first and last time
We cane by this place by chance and decided to have a brunch just based on the reviews and it was really good. We had California egg Benedict, American omelet and two servings of pancake. It is a small place but clean with a warm atmosphier. The staff were nice, friendly and checked on our coffee/ water frequently. All the dishes that we tried were big portions and tasted very good. Just notice that they don t split the bill and accept only cash or debit
Had a great breakfast at Figs! I love that theyre open early, even on weekends. The menu has a great variety, all the food was prepared with care and was perfectly cooked, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I found the prices to be reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. My only wish was that their eggs bennies had a two egg option (vs 3). Highly recommend the Belgian waffle and the big salmon breakfast.
Amazing little diner. Staff are so happy to serve. Food is traditional diner fare done exceptionally well.
First time at Figs today. Superb florentine eggs Benedict with fresh fruit and delicious latke to accompany it.
We ordered Veggie Omelette, English Breakfast, and California Eggs Benedict. My favourite was Eggs Benedict and I don t suggest English breakfast and sausages.
Unbelievably great coffee!!!
Superb quality, integrity and service! Will return. Food
Friendly service and excellent food!
Good food and reasonable prices. Really good home fries and latkes. Sun shines through the ample windows during operating hours for a pleasantly warm and comfortably bright breakfast/brunch experience. Staff are just as warm and friendly with bright smiles. Ask for the owner s homemade hot sauce if you like things a bit spicier than the tabletop option. He makes a tasty sauce with quite a kick!
Owner told me I couldn t pay with credit card when the machine was right in front of me. I said I had no other way to pay so she finally let me use my card, She was also incredibly rude. Food wasn t that good either.
We had the worst customer service experience from the old lady who may be the owner/manager. We came for lunch, there was no line up and we (2 adults and a child) were seated at an empty table we requested for 5 people. After sitting at the table for 10mins, while our child was drinking the milk we ordered, the old lady came up to us to say that they can t hold the table if our two friends still haven t arrived. I told her they were arriving in a few mins (they were 5 mins away). We had only been there for 10mins! There was no line, no one waiting for a table and there was an empty table next to us! She told us to leave. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE is very NEGATIVE. I would not recommend this place.
Fantastic Breakfast Lunch Spot good variety and fresh produce
First time having brunch here, despite the power being out they were still cooking up large delicious meals. Flavours, portions, variety, customer service all on point.
Lovely
Good food. They dont take credit
Very nice place, came to eat brunch with my father yesterday and ended ul bringing the whole family back there today:) good food, attentive servers and nice ac:) will come back Vegetarian options: My sisters and mother ate their vegetarian dishes, my mother got a veggie sandwich, sisters got a salmon salad and the other sister a light breakfast. All of them were very deligthed!
I go to this place regularly and Ive never disappointed. If youre dining in, go early or expect to be waiting in line. Its not a huge place, and they will seat you when all of your party members have arrived. I 100% agree with that policy.
Service is friendly and food is wonderful. Would highly recommend any of their eggs Benedict dishes
Ive been going to Figs for a few years now and always provides a satisfying breakfast with the large portions and made to order. If you decide to order the Benny it comes in 3 set poach eggs so be hungry. The service is amazing, always friendly, and making sure you got your coffee cup filled and condiments in hand. The atmosphere on the weekdays is relaxing and weekends well can be a bit crowded like most breakfast places on the weekend but you wont have to wait longer than maybe 20mins.
Best french toasts ever!!! Scrumptious food!!! Very courteous staff!!! Only thing is they accept cash or debit only and no credit thats why deduct one star. Food : 5/5
Best eggs bennys in town!
Great people and good food at decent prices.
Small, chill and amazing place with the best service and amazing food!
such an adorable little diner, super friendly staff, food so yummy and fresh.
Ive been here twice. Its a small spot. Very cozy. Both times our order came out very fast and exactly as ordered. The staff is super friendly and very efficient. This is the first breakfast spot Ive been to that serves both home fries and potato hash. A very welcome surprise. Super delicious. Yesterday I asked what the waitress recommends. She said theyre famous for their eggs Benedict. And she was certainly right. Im skeptical every time an establishment says theyre famous for a certain item, but Figs has no issue backing up their claim to fame. Very impressed. I got the Rueben style eggs Benedict and it was the best thing Ive had in this city in ages. A must try.
Great food and service. Nice small place to have a great breakfast.
I went to Figs for brunch today. Hadnt been since before Covid. The service has gone very downhill. I used to work in a breakfast diner. I understand the behind the scenes pressures servers are under. Hoping my feedback can provide ways to improve customer/server experience all around. My friend and I went for Brunch this morning. We were seated and served coffee and our meal quickly. The food was exactly what you would want. These qualities alone would warrant a 5 star review. When we finished our meals, we were immediately brought the bill. There was no attempt to upsell us on anything or provide more coffee etc. We checked to see if there was a line. At most, there were one or two parties waiting. We wanted more coffee, so decided to stay. We would have happily bought more food or beverages. However, as we stayed every server came to our table to tell us to go and pay. They became ridiculously pushy about it. If there had been a line we would have left, but it was dying down. It was strange to have the servers continue to try to make us uncomfortable - especially when we hadnt tipped yet. This is a more flies with honey situation. My friend and I stayed for at most 2 hours (admittedly long for a breakfast spot, but not unreasonable given said lack of line). We would have ordered more food and tipped well had the service been offered. Pressuring diners to leave is not acceptable and reduces the tip and likelihood of returning. Bad for business and take home tips all around Trust that people are reasonable and would leave if there were a line or it was close to closing... Hoping Im expressing this well. My friend and i had a good catch up and the food was good despite the rude service. Whoever is training the serving staff could implement small changes to fix these issues quickly. As is, I likely wont be returning for a long time.
My warning to International people If you are are an international person, please dont go there! Because they will want cash from you and if you want to pay via debit or credit card, they want to charge you more! They are making excuses like this is an intl card etc but it is not true as they want to get more money for you as a tip without tour consent! I didnt agree to their extra charge suggestion, rejected as saying that they were doing discrimination to intl people for payments! Otherwise food and service lady was nice. So please be careful!!!
I do not recommend this place at all since they raised the costs of each dish I ordered, please check the prices of your ticket with the prices on the menu, they take advantage of people and raise costs. The waitress was friendly but the person at the cashier is a nasty and angry lady. I seriously dont recommend this place at all, I had a very uncomfortable moment.
Such a great spot! The food was amazing and the staff are so kind! Definitely will be going back
Charged us 8 dollars for a tiny glass of freshly squeezed orange juice that came out of a plastic bottle. Service was slow. Sitting area is loud and cramped. You could clearly see how disgusting the kitchen was. None of the food tasted right. They dont allow you to split the bill for some inane reason.
Preparation error on the variety breakfast: the 2 sausages were forgotten....after telling us that the orange juices were homemade with oranges freshly squeezed by themselves, we were served orange juice in can (stored in a refrigerator in the restaurant room...).. No excuses, they offer to give us the sausages in a box, they give us a discount but add 2 dollars because we pay with an international Visa card...not normal
The best service in Toronto!! Great food; a real community institution !
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Always amazing. My regular hangout three times a week. Fresh veggies, tomatoes, and amazing sausage and the best pea meal and best eggs Bennie s in toronto, several ways! I ll be back Saturday!
We enjoyed the hashbrowns, and steak Benedicts
It was my first time coming here and I enjoyed my experience. The portions are large and the meal was good. I got the variety breakfast plate and it was a lot of food. If you re a light eater they have a plate for that. My eggs were cooked the way I liked it. Not too busy but I heard sometimes it can be!
I have always enjoyed my time this great restaurant. Over the years the owner and servers have become good friends. This is the number 1 spot where my friends and I go to catch up, have a great meal, and very often, it is the start to my day. I could not recommend it more!
Sooo comforting! I got the California eggs benedict and we also had the breakfast plate with peameal bacon on the side. They were both delicious. And yes benedict comes with 3 eggs! They were perfectly poached. I loooved the hash brown. The coffee was good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. You can see the kitchen through a glass and experience breakfast in progress. It makes it very homey and relaxed. Definitely recommend their breakfast. Thank you! Vegetarian options: You can definitely get full and have a delicious meal with the vegetarian options! Eggs benedict is very tasty.
No frills type of diner. When I went it was super busy and as I went solo, I was given the table right by the toilets (not ideal but I cant complain as I got a table to myself!) Service is fast and friendly! I opted for eggs (poached and soft), rye bread, and a small fruit salad, plus a coffee. Coffee is a bottomless cup. It came quickly and was the perfect size for something light. Surprisingly (and delightfully) they had alternative dairy milk, so I had oat milk with my coffee. Hurray! I only came across this place because I was attending a wedding nearby. Happy coincidence. I can see by the crowd that its a local go-to. Dietary restrictions: Dairy-free options available here.
Excellent service, the servers were so nice, smiling and accommodating, unfortunately the latkes here were EXTREMELY heavily salted, and just didnt have the crunch. Its a regular diner really, didnt exactly hit the spot for us.
Hadnt been in awhile. Was still very good. Friendly service.
Its a great local place for a quick, homemade, delicious food. Dont expect 100 options for each taste, but for sure they have something youll crave. The Stake breakfast is GOOD!
Had a great breakfast with wonderful friends who live here! So glad we were here!
amazing food at a decent price
Perfect place for a Sunday brunch.
Lady that runs this place annoys me... shes a penny pincher. Claims they take all debit cards... but they dont take Visa or MasterCard debit cards.
The breakfast and coffee were amazing at Figs. We got the California eggs benedict and an omelette, both were incredibly delicious. The hollandaise sauce was perfect and just the right amount. The staff were friendly and service was fast as well. I will definitely be coming back here again!
Eggs benedict were great and so were the sides. Baked beans were just what I needed on a cold November morning. Hollandaise sauce is a bit different, a bit spicy and sweet, but I liked it! Food
Great food, not so great service. Some days they don t have menu items, some days they do, some days they ll complete a takeout order, some days they won t.
Went here for brunch, the restaurant experience was ok, it gets busy and you would have to ask for something and be very patient about it. Least favorite part was lining up after eating to pay at the cashier
