From-scratch brunch plates, locally sourced fare & burgers offered up in an airy dining room.
the duck confit poutine is Unreal. super crispy fries, tender meat and not overly saucy. absolute best part is the butter trickling down into the fries which makes the fries taste almost milky, BUT without making the fries soggy somehow!! also tried the chicken and waffles, the crunchiness of the chicken with the Amazing blueberry jam genuinely makes it taste like funnel cake. so good
I recently dined at O'Somae, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The service was impressively fast, which I really appreciated, especially during busy brunch hours. Now, let’s talk about the food—WOW! Every dish I tried was bursting with flavor and creativity. Whether it was their fluffy pancakes or the chicken and waffle, each bite left me craving more. It’s safe to say I’ll be dreaming about their delicious menu for weeks to come! If you're looking for a brunch spot that combines amazing service with mouthwatering food, O'Somae is the place to be. I can't wait to return! Highly recommend! 🌟🥞🍳
Food was delicious ordered the farmers breakfast box & salmon Benny. Highly recommended. Also I’m very impressed how it was packaged! 10/10!
Had Sat lunch there. Arrived at peak hour, got the last table, so service was a bit slow (about 20-25 min to get our food). But food was great. Trufle benny was good, truffle taste is very subtle. Chicken burger was very good, chicken is moist, perfectly deep fried and seasoning is good. In both, french fries were very good. Blueberry pancakes were fluffy and very tasty. Ended up $52 (before tip) including 5% discount for cash payment.. so very happy with our experience.
The ducker confit and regular Eggs Benedict is one of the best in the city. The beet smoothie was to die for. Amazing menu, amazing customer service and very cheap parking around the area. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful spot for brunch. Everything was fresh and delicious from Eggs Benny to smoothies and lattes. Can't wait to come back.
A breakfast feast! Chicken and waffles were perfect! Juicy, tender, plentiful. Even the fries were delicious. I look forward to eating my way through the menu, in the coming months.
As I was reading the reviews a common theme of patrons seems to be that people intended to go to Lady Marmalade but the line was too long so they came to O’Somae instead and were blown away by this gem. I am definitely in that category of people too. The inside is nicely decorated and feels spacious, with bright white walls and lots of natural light coming in. They have many brunch items available. We got the crab cake eggs Benny and the chicken and waffle. I must say, I was disappointed that my crab cake eggs Benny didn’t have actual crab claws on it like photos from previous reviews (apparently it was a cost-cutting measure which makes sense given the price of inflation) but that minor thing aside, I really enjoyed it. The crab cakes replacing the English muffins were super tasty, and the eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was taste. HOWEVER, the star of the meal for us was the chicken and waffle. We were greeted by a mountain of fried chicken on top of a crispy and soft waffle. Everyone who ordered this had plenty of leftovers to take home. Service was friendly and attentive. All in all, a great brunch experience. I’m also eager to come back to try their duck confit brunch dishes too.
Wonderful chicken n waffles! Huge portions, enough to share.
duck so good! yummers!
Chicken and waffles were great!
The brisket eggs benedict was really good. Definitely gonna be going back.
Service was friendly and quick. Seating available immediately - no wait. The food was delicious. Love the Sailor Moon mural!
1. service is good; 2. The duck burger is good with special taste; 3. Objectively speaking, fries is so so Food : 4/5
Loved this brunch spot, highly recommended
Please order the chicken and waffles. It is outstanding. Perfectly cooked and juicy even though it is white meat. How? I dont know. The crunchy batter is fantastic. Waffle is flavorful and also perfectly cooked. Tasty syrup and blueberry compote. Fresh salad with a yummy dressing but not too much. Husband liked the fries too. For me they were too soft. I ordered the crab Mac and cheese. Sadly it was just ok. Still, for us this breakfast was better than both White Lily or Lady Marmalade overall. I mention them because they are also a short walk from our hotel. Were so glad we tried ODomae! Service here was great. Atmosphere good too. If we lived here we would be back soon for chicken and waffles and to try the eggs benedict.
Truffle benny is a MUST!!!
A hidden gem of a brunch spot in china town! I got the truffle Benny and it was super taste and flavorful.
Excellent food and service! The ladies there are very nice. The menu has options for everyone and it s a good place for brunch!
Honestly, I don t understand how this place have 4.5 rating, it is hard to believe google reviews anymore. We arrived there and I was surprise to see so many tables available when all the other brunch places around you have to line up, now I know why. The waitress did not even smile and took our order, the brought the coffees, and my americano taste like water and was trying to be patient so I said nothing, 10 min later they bring my partner food and they asked me f I order anything, so somehow they forgot I order the chicken and waffles. My partner ordered the beef brisket Benny s, everything; fries, brisket and hollandaise was tasteless, at that point I told my partner to leave. We went to the cashier and she have the audacity to try charge for the food and coffee, my partner just paid for the coffee. Anyway terrible experience after all.
I love OSomae! We live right around the corner and come here fairly regularly. Between ourselves and our guests, weve sampled most of the menu and can confirm its all delicious. Particular favourites for me are the Chicken and Waffles (the breading and seasoning on the chicken is fantastic!) and the Smoked Salmon Benny. My wife enjoys the duck confit menu items, and Ive seen friends enjoy various Mac & Cheeses as well. The service is great, theres almost always a table available, and the space is welcoming. Lastly, I highly recommend the Watermelon Margarita smoothie. That hit of cayenne works for me every time! Kid-friendliness: Theyve been happy to provide a high chair and recommend some kid friendly sides! Wheelchair accessibility: All one level, no steps, and accessible bathrooms on main floor.
Such a cute brunch spot downtown! The food was great, with a spacious and comforting interior. The staff were very friendly and the playlist was also amazing. I ordered basic waffles and also got chicken and waffles which were really filling and worth the price for the portions!
Delicious chicken and waffles!
Stumbled into this place after lady marmalade was lined up out the door- so happy we did! Awesome pancakes and Bennies, reasonably priced. Very happy!
The Chicken & Waffles is amazing! Easily my favorite chicken & waffles in Toronto! I just wish they were open later so that I could also eat it as a dinner option and not just for brunch.
Great spot for brunch! Reasonable prices, quick service, good food, and ice coffee? What more could you ask for!
Great brunch spot, love the decor, its all so cute. Food is also good, I like the kids sized meals, especially if you dont want salad or fruit.
I had the duck confit burger. It was messy to eat, but delicious! I ll definitely come back. I saw the chicken and waffles at a neighbouring table and it looked amazing. Huge portion!
The service was quick and friendly, food was absolutely delicious and they provide a variety of dishes to meet most dietary needs! Its a very cute and bright place that feels very welcoming, and a great place for pics (they have a giant wall mural as you come in)! Came in on a Sunday morning for brunch and left wanting to come back again and again.
Had a good experience for brunch. We tried the duck Waffles and duck eggs Benny.
Duck and waffles are phenomenal. Great brunch-y cocktails too!
Overwhelmingly average No drip coffee for a brunch place is odd
Exceptional brunch experience at O Somae! The duck confit Benny and brisket Benny were incredibly tasty, paired perfectly with mimosas and coffee. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the place was charming and clean. Definitely worth a visit for brunch!
Beautiful Brunch place!! Lovely ambiance. The duck confit Benny and Brisket Benny were amazing!! Food
The americano and avocado toast were great! The waffles here are cooked perfectly.
We had intended on having brunch at a different, nearby establishment. But there was an outdoor line and we didnt feel like waiting in the cold. So, we went to OSomae instead. It definitely didnt feel like settling though. The atmosphere was nice, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious (and also pretty)! Our group shared, so I got to sample different menu items. The quality really was top-notch! Even the side salads were delish, thanks to the high-quality greens and amazing dressing! There are good options here for omnivores, pescatarians, and vegetarians (the truffle benny is so good). As far as vegan options, there was a vegan avocado toast on the menu (which was quite tasty). But that was pretty much it for vegan options, so this restaurant may not be a good choice if theres a vegan in your group. All in all, this was a great experience. Im definitely glad that we ended up going to OSomae! Vegetarian options: Truffle benny.
I have questions what are these WAFFLES made of?!?!? They are soooo delicious, cripsy and chewy (maybe it has mochi) and the duck confit was so moist with a perfect crispy skin. Got a latte which could have been hotter but overall great service, even provided baby hair chair. (came on weekday)
Came here for brunch with my friend on Sunday, ordered duck and waffles, so delicious. Price is very reasonable and portion is pretty big for an Asian like me
My favourite brunch place in the city! Been coming since they first opened. Great food, generous portions and friendly staff. The chicken is so good!
Amazing brunch!
Had a lovely brunch, I didn t get the recommendation of waffles and fried chicken or the duck Benny. I did really enjoy the light salmon Benny I did get. The food came quick and the service was nice. Enjoyed the experience on the whole!
Great brunch spot - fresh, innovative options, very lovely staff!
Being a big fan of duck I went for the duck confit waffles box . The done-to-perfection duck comes with waffles + maple syrup, home fries, salad, wedges of watermelon, piña and some tasty berries. If the word box throws you off, rest assured, this is an excellent full meal. Wheelchair accessibility: While visiting the toilet, I noticed a sign which said there was wheelchair accessibility.
We went to O Somae for weekend brunch. They were so kind to seat us even with our newborn and stroller. O Somae has an amazing community feel, which was part of the reason the owner s chose its east end location. They are known for their breakfast poutine. However, we far better preferred the egg benedicts. The fries were well seasoned but the poutine lacked gravy and overall balance. The pears were insignificant in this dish providing no sweetness or texture. We tried the truffle mushroom and brisket benedicts. I am usually not one for truffle oil but the umami from the mushrooms, the perfectly poached egg and the well seasoned hollandaise made the benedict a delight. The biggest disappoint however were the home fries - soggy, and unseasoned. It was a pleasure trying O Somae for the first time still unsure if I would come back again.
Extremely low quality food. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Their Benny was soak in butter, I feel nauseous after eating. Chicken was ok, not juicy, not much favour.
The duck poutine was delicious, however, the fries were too salty as the duck itself is salty. Vegetarian options: There is one vegetarian option which could be improved.
Every time I come here the staff at O Somae give excellent service. It s a beautiful restaurant with great food. Both the chicken and waffles and the duck and waffles are fantastic but anything on the menu is great. I d love a drip coffee option but that s my only small complaint. Love this place.
Such a great place. Super friendly staff. The food is always great. And the chicken and waffles is enormous! Lol. Highly recommend.
We stumbled in here looking for a brunch place on a rainy Sunday morning. Amazing choice. Latte and mimosa were delicious. Beer was collective arts which is our new fave brewery in Hamilton. The food is the familiar brunch fare but with a welcome twist. Duck confit waffles came with a yummy tangy sauce for the duck. Crab cake bennie was absolutely delicious with a little crab claw served on the side. 10/10. Brunch Bliss!
Fantastic breakfast!
Highly recommend O somae!! the menu is super delicious, great portion sizes, and had a good selection for everyone in our group. Tim and the staff were so lovely and took such good care of our very large group! From making the reservation to ensuring we all had drinks/quick food service and spilt bills it made our big family brunch out a very amazing and warm/inviting experience. Thank you!
Loved the chicken waffles and avocado toast.
Food was underwhelming. I got the fried chicken and waffles: huge portion but underseasoned, 50% of it was just the breading which fell off the chicken very easily. And the chicken itself didnt taste like it was great quality. My partner had eggs benny with sausage add on: eggs were over done, sausage wasnt great. Coffee also not great. Service was good, and didnt have to wait for a table. Hash browns/potatoes were good and crispy. Overall overpriced.
Good brunch. The deal is really big. Good and honest food.
Really great tasting food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere isn t too loud. Good alternative to Lady Marmalade down the road that has a one hour wait on Saturdays. We only waited for five minutes.
Excellent breakfast/brunch spot opened a year and a half ago with surprisingly creative menu offering dishes such as duck confit & waffles and crab cake eggs benedict in a modern industrial airy space. Walked in on a Sunday at 10am and got seated right away after trying to get into nearby White Lily Diner & Lady Marmalade, both with hour long queues.
Went with my wife Family Day and glad we found this tiny but delicious gem of an eatery. Chicken waffles were massive and the Salmon Benny was just right. Great service (attentive and pleasant), great atmosphere. Planning on going back with wifey for another awesome meal. Reasonably priced and affordable for two....date destination .
Great spot for brunch. They make the best smoothies. Also love their picnic boxes!
Most delicious crab cake eggs benedict Ive ever had. Eggs were cooked medium, allowing for that soft outer and a slight ooze once broken. Paired well with my matcha latte For sure a hidden gem Food : 5/5
Cute brunch spot with amazing food and good coffee! I love their classic eggs Benny and if you get any of their dishes make sure to try the hot sauce its reaaaally good. Their pistachio icecream was also amazing.
Delicious food, coffee, and smoothies. Loved the chicken and waffles. Their Pina colada smoothie tasted like a beach in Mexico.
Everything was delicious. Great vibe. Clean, modern, friendly and prompt service, relaxed atmosphere. large portions. Nothing to dislike here! Great experience
We are having a quick business lunch here. The environment is clean and cozy. The staff are nice and helpful. The duck confit burger is a must-try item as it comes with a whole duck thigh. My Classic Benny (Egg Benedict) is cooked perfectly. The york is juicy and comes out like lava. Their latte are good. The duck benny comes with duck meat covered with poached egg is very innovative. After this meal, I have enough energy to focus my work in the afternoon.
I ve come here a couple times with friends and it s always delicious! The breakfast poutine is a must!
Cute and clean brunch and lunch location on Broadview with delicious food, creative drinks, and massive portions. We went as a group and were honestly surprised at the portions and quality of the food. Staff were friendly and prompt with their service and food was brought out quickly after ordering. I had the duck confit waffles and everything was prepared perfectly. Waffles were fresh and the duck easily came off rhe bone. The portion was two to three times what I would have for lunch so its definitely shareable! I was surprised the restaurant wasnt as busy as the other popular brunch location just down the street that always has a line up. Hopefully more people learn about OSomae and consider it as well!
Amazing interior decor, nice food. It was a business lunch, weekday, not crowded at all, everyone enjoyed. Egg Benedicts are probably one of their signatures, perfectly made. Duck confit is superb superb superb! So tender, juicy, seasoned just right, so soft that the bone comes out with a soft pull. Another stunning thing is, they dont use cheese slice in the burger, but grilled mac&cheese, omg, I cant resist it. Service was ok. The fries are too salty.
Finally went in to try the good looking food at this brunch spot with the family. No doubt the food looks beautiful as it comes out, and the menu is also fun with a lot of comfort food options - such as mac n cheese, fried chicken, and even duck confit. I really wanted to love it and have another brunch spot to add to our repertoire, but I think the kicker for me was ordering the Beet and fruit smoothie and expecting to taste beets and fruit. Instead it was just overpowered by the simple syrup that was used to sweeten it. When I order fruits and veggies in a smoothie, I never expect it to be sweetened by anything other than its own fresh ingredients (maybe offer additional artificial sweetening for those who want it). Smoothie = health boost in the mornings for me and my 4 yr old and even he commented on the sweetness (we have green smoothies at home on the regular). So if ordering smoothies here, make it a point to ask for no additional sweetening. From there, while our plates of food were bountiful I found my duck confit dish a tad bit on the salty side (think the fried herbed Mac n cheese was the culprit). Also I found the fries on both plates a bit too much. When having something as rich as the duck, a side salad would have been more balanced or much fewer fries. The farmers market breakfast was by far our favourite dish - which to me says that keeping it simpler is the way to go here. My son loved his chicken and waffles and even the parents thought that was a decent enough plate again, with too many home fries. The salad and dressing on there was top notch though! I d like to give this place another try, simply because the staff are great, the menu is fun, and the place is comfortable and available (unlike the lineup outside lady marmalade). Perhaps we should give the eggs Benny a try next time.
Food is not good. Coffee cant be more mediocre. Food
A very cute brunch restaurant that actually has very good food. The portions are great and definitely worth the money. The fried chicken is super juicy and flavourful while they give you maple syrup AND a blueberry chutney which compliments it well. I highly recommend going here if you are in the mood for a delicious brunch. It s located in small chinatown so its easy to find parking on the street.
Great place at Gerrard and Broadview Ave. Attentive staff and fast service. Chicken waffle is a must try but theres other options too. Big serving so come hungry. Food can be shareable. Fries and burgers options are great too.
Their chicken and waffles are my fave!
Amazing brunch spot! All the dishes we tried were amazing! The latte was so delicious.
This is probably the best brunch I ve had in Toronto in a long time! The staff were very kind, the service was fast and the food was EXCELLENT. We had the chicken and waffles and it was devine. Huge portions and beautiful presentation. I would HIGHLY recommend!
Great brunch place. I got the farmers breakfast, my wife the chicken and waffles. Food is fantastic, portion is fair for the price and its very nicely plated. Service was very good as well. Friendly and fast. Walked in on a Saturday at 1230 and was able to be seated right away. Place is steady but not overly busy to where its chaotic and you wait forever. Best brunch spot weve been to in a bit.
Interesting dishes. Friendly staff. Food is alright. Worth the experience.
Great spot for brunch and drinks! Staff are friendly
When we first found and tried this place we became obsessed and ordered it every week. The quality became very inconsistent. At one point I had raw bacon in my box (not just chewy bacon, parts were uncooked and slimy like it was bunched up when put on the grill. It was noticeable because my husbands box had cooked bacon in it). Given it was around $75 each time we ordered, this was pretty unacceptable and weve stopped ordering every week.
They looked very disorganized when I ate there today. They bring the food and dont know who to give it to, I asked for ketchup, they gave me hot sauce, I also asked for a bag, but they forgot to give it to me. They also took forever to ask the couple next to me what they would like to eat, and they made other people order first even though they came after. The food was also mid. Just go to marmalade tbh.
Had the truffle mac and cheese, and my partner had chicken and waffles. Tasted wonderful
Best Chicken and Waffles ever! And the Duck Benny is amazing as well. Everything down to the side salad is perfect. Best brunch in Toronto
Nice little brunch spot in the east end.
Great menu options for both food and drink.
The food is great, the atmosphere is nice and the staff is very polite and attentive True gem on Bayview Highly recommend smoothies that taste and look like vacation! Main protein options are duck, chicken or crab Go to place for brunch
Great place for brunch, great addition to neighborhood. We had Matcha Latte, Papina Colada, Crab Cake Benny & Duck confit Waffles. All delicious, service excellent, clean restaurant and washrooms.
Good food. Worth the wait. The waffles are yum yum.
Great food, especially the fried chicken. I would go there just for that! Everything about the food was really pleasant, and the staff and service were super!
Food - 4.5/5 Service & Staff - 5/5 Atmosphere - 4/5 Been wanting to try this place for a while, and so happy that I did! We appreciated the friendly and attentive staff, and how well they accommodated our toddler. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The portion was generous and the chicken was delicious! It was well-seasoned and juicy, without being too greasy. The home fries were classic and yummy. The salad had a tasty and interesting pineapple dressing and there was quite a bunch of fresh fruit included on the plate. The only thing Id say could improve was the waffle. The flavour was great, but it was pretty overcooked. Rather than soft and chewy, it was hard and crunchy. The atmosphere could be cozier. Also, perhaps theres a better process or area for UberEats and other food delivery services to collect food, as they kept walking through the restaurant and standing right next to our table with their dirty carriers. Overall, great experience and delicious food. Excited to come back and try other things on the menu.
For brunch, we ate the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, small farmers and chicken waffle. The eggs benedict are served with a salad of young shoots, a very good vinaigrette which is a change from the ordinary (with pineapple I think) and the hollandaise sauce is excellent! The homemade waffle was very good: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! The chicken was breaded/fried, very crispy and tender but a little fatty all the same.
The Duck burger and service was phenomenal. Food came out quick and servers were very attentive and with a smile. Hot sauce was actually spicy and delicious.
Friendly service, great food and drinks, we will definitely be back!
Left to Right: 1. Chicken and waffles- rating 4.5 stars The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Potatoes were also well seasoned crispy on the outside and soft on the inside The only reason I took off the .5 is because the waffle was not fluffy and moist on the inside like I like it. For the people who enjoy a crispy waffle texture, you will like it. 2. Pulled Duck Benny- rating 5 ++ stars This dish was amazing and I have nothing to say about it except TRY IT!!! I will be going back for this many times. 3. Crab Cake Mac & Cheese- rating 2 stars This dish did not do it for me at all. The crab cake was not to my liking. I was chewing into crunchy bits that felt like shell and the flavour was too fishy but not in a good way. I ended up taking off all the crab and eating only the Mac and Cheese because anything that hadn t touched the crab was actually not bad. Overall I give this restaurant 4 stars. But the Duck Benny has won me in and I will definitely be back. The service was also pretty good and the restaurant itself is really well decorated. Minimal but playfully romantic.
definitely the best place for brunch
Food so amazing
Service needs serious improvement. They were not attentive and unfriendly. the duck confit waffle is mid. I d suggest a brunch place elsewhere such as Mildred s Temple or Lady Marmalade! so much better and worth your $$$
Their service and atmosphere in this place is great 4/5! However, their food was horrible, especially for the price. I had their Salmon Eggs Benny ($19), egg was soft boiled and was not runny - little to no sauce so it was very dry. I also had their Matcha Tea Latte ($7.50) - no matcha flavour and felt like I was drinking 2% milk with a HINT of matcha (also had to point out that half of the drink was ICE )?? Overall, the worst experience I had for food and their drinks. However servers were very nice and the place was clean. Would not recommend their food.
I ordered the duck waffles and it was super good. But the portion is very big, I got bloated the whole day after. I think you should share that instead of ordering a whole thing for yourself. The matcha I ordered was not good. No flavour. Overall, I like the waffles.
Really well executed brunch, artisan coffee, and licensed with a couple of cocktails and a solid beer. Really liked the food, friendly service. Some neat options for benedicts. Home made hollandaise! My only qualm: its open concept, laminate-floored and brick-walked, so its very loud.
I ve come to this spot multiple times and believe that it s a great brunch spot. I love their avocado toast and their vegetarian eggs benny. Great portions and convenient location.
Had to try the chicken waffles after seeing so many loving them and have to agree. The chicken batter is crisp and flavourful. The waffles are light and also crispy in the most perfect way. Salad was also yummy.
Great brunch spot with a solid menu, great service
After having a hard morning, I ordered some breakfast from this place. This place is really good. It s a really good restaurant.
Dietary restrictions: Milk alternatives for lattes are available. Food
The fruits were a nice touch to brighten this breakfast. The eggs were runny and perfect for the bread and bacon. I just wished they were open longer. This would be a great late night spot for studying and hangover meals.
I came to O Somae on Saturday for brunch. Having heard about their Chicken waffle I decided to give it a try and ordered it along with a latte. When the order came I was immediately impressed with the presentation and arrangement of the plate. There was a good mix of savoury sweet and fresh, giving me plenty of options to satisfy and cleanse my palate. There are 2 large servings of lightly battered chicken, very tender on the inside and the batter was just the right crispiness. As a slow eater I could appreciate that the chicken remained succulent as I slowly worked my way through it. The waffle was made with a unique batter that settles a perfect crisp on the outside and soft light sweetness on the inside. Adding some maple syrup on top makes them literally melt in your mouth. It s also served with a side of wedges, fresh fruits and salad. The wedges are salted to perfection while the salad topped with pineapple sauce offers the perfect palate cleanser. The fresh fruit on the side completes the meal as healthy light dessert. The service was friendly waitress was very patient in answering my questions about the different types of caffeinated drinks, and respondent when I needed help. The restaurant had a nice ambience to it as well, the interior design made the restaurant feel spacious despite not being that large of a space, I felt that the distance between the tables were just right to feel like you had a private space to yourself. Overall, I had a very pleasant brunch experience and would definitely recommend O Somae to friends and family. Next time I come I will be trying their Eggs Benny.
The food was really good, I got the Brisket Benny and Chicken and Waffles. I feel the place could use a little attention to aesthetics. It currently seems too plain and boring. Dietary restrictions: Had Oat Milk.
We ordered by Uber Eats. Super fast delivery of scrumptious food. The chicken and waffles had super crispy and crunchy chicken. Two huge pieces so I have leftovers for tomorrow. A nice green salad with fruit to round out the home fries which were spot on.
One of the best Chicken Waffles in Toronto
Food was really good and it came out fast
This place is vastly overrated. Both our dishes crab cake Benny and truffle Mac and cheese have been pretty mediocre. Can t recommend and would not come back.
Ordered duck confit burger. It was delicious although slightly on the fatty side. The service was great! All the dishes were served at the same time and water was refilled promptly.
Excellent food and service. Perfect poached eggs, excellent avocado, and really nice home fries. A bit noisy with a lot of echo, but Id be happy to visit again and again. Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegetarian options such as Mac and cheese, avocado toast, veggie breakfast.
I had brunch here today with my husband and daughter and everything was amazing. We had the chicken and waffles (probably the best I ve ever tasted) and the smoked salmon eggs benny. Everything tasted very fresh and even though it was quite busy the servers were very attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back to try other items.
The chicken and waffles are DELICIOUS! I haven t been into the store but I always get them on UberEats. The chicken is crunchy, flavourful and HUGE but the waffle is the star of the show. Its so tasty and it has a different bite compared to other waffles. This one has a chewy texture that I can t seem to get enough of. The box comes with a simple salad, home fries, fruit and 2 sauces for the chicken/ waffles. Definitely looking forward to trying the other items!
Ordered an overpriced iced matcha latte from these guys and it came out lukewarm. Wouldnt recommend.
Great spot for brunch! Theyre big on chicken & waffles but have many other things like duck confit, eggs Benny, and others. Food and drinks were great. The best part are the half portions!!! You dont have to stuff your face or let it go to waste, but get a more sensible portion! Food
Really pleased with this place! Food is delicious! Food : 5/5
i just had breakfast here everything was perfect. i used to visit other places but this one was something different. Food was delicious.
Went here for brunch with my family today (including 2 kids). The portions were very generous, the food was yummy and came quickly, my latte was great, all of the servers were friendly and attentive. Casual atmosphere, high ceilings (acoustics a touch loud) with a cute mural, tables reasonably spaced apart. Clean restaurant and washrooms. Wheelchair accessible Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, kid menu options Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible entry and wheelchair accessible washroom on main level
Great food! Wish there were more vegetarian options but what I had was great
amazing service and staff. Gemma was a very kind and helpful waiter. Food was high quality and very good. Will be returning asap!
Super nice staff and the chef made a special shared plate for us to accommodate our mixed food preferences for our mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters. Flat white was great as well.
Yup
Past by this place many times and decided to go today. Ordered the Farmers Breakfast. The food looked great and tasted better. Jemma or Gemma looked beautiful and was very helpful. Picture of my meal while I was eating.
Really really delicious chicken and waffles!! The chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy on the inside. The waffle was also really good - soft and fluffy, with perfect amount of sweetness to go with the chicken. Everything on the plate went really well together and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the dish!
Its such a perfect place for brunch! Everything exceeds expectations, the eggs are super soft and yolk was nice and runny just like i asked for. The little cute latte art made my day:) Preordered 10 of the oso hot sauces two days before hand for my family and friends as gifts since they love it so much.
I did not like the food at all. Ordered duck egg Benny and it was made into pulled duck meat form placed on Benny. It didnt have any flavor. Any pulled meat should be marinated or cooked with bbq sauce, it couldve been more tasty. Also ordered matcha latte, didnt think it taste particularly satisfying either. Not sure if it was a off day but itll be my first and only time here.
So good. 100% recommend trying, delicious.
Food was good, generous portions. Fries were so good! It was a busy long weekend and with the lack of staff, even that, the wait staff did her best. Overall positive experience!
I came here about 2pm and lucky to get a table. The staff were extremely friendly. I ordered a crab cake benny and it arrived within 10 mins. The crab cake was very delicious in combination with the creamy avocado. However, the little crab claw on top of the egg was a bit dry. The egg was just a bit over cooked. However the salad and potato were still very delicious. I loved the toasted nuts (so golden brown and crunchy) on the salad. Coffee was nice too... In terms of deco, I wish they use real plants, not plastics stuff on their wall... Overall, I still like the place. Will definitely come back.
This place is great , i Love how chill it is and the food is great. You can tell by the quality its made fresh
Loved my duck and waffle brunch! Friendly and helpful staff. The raspberry smoothie was ok. Better get coffe instead.
Had the chicken and waffles. Really tasty and great portion size. Wish they had drip coffee, but 5 stars nonetheless.
The tasting menu is gorgeous and delicious. Food, and service are impeccable.
This place is amazing!!!! The eggs benedict is so tasty - and with such a variety :)
I ll start off by saying I NEVER write reviews. Came for brunch at around 12, stood at the front waiting to grab someone s attention for at least 10 minutes finally was able to ask to be put on the wait list, I was told someone else would come to get my info. Waited another 10 minutes for someone else to put us on the wait list. Fine. Waited for about 20 minutes to be seated which is also fine. We got seated and asked for water. 20 minutes went by. No waters, no check in. Nothing. Still, I understand it s busy. Got our orders in finally, food arrived at the table within 30 minutes. No one checked in to see how things were, or if we needed anything else. Multiple things had been asked for and not delivered. We felt forgotten about. I ordered the crab Mac N Cheese, it was severely under seasoned, hardly any flavour. Definitely would not recommend. Staff was ?pleasant? I guess, but very inattentive. We waited for our bill for about 20 minutes. Waiting is fine, but this was excessive. Maybe they were understaffed? Overall it was a very underwhelming experience. It s such a beautiful spot and I was very excited to dine there, unfortunately I will not be back.
Definitely the best brunch in Toronto with excellent services.
Could not be more impressed with this place, honestly. On a Saturday morning when EVERYWHERE else had a waitlist, O Somae got us a table for two right away- no wait at all We were served quickly and the food holy MOLY it was amazing, and reasonably priced! For two amazing meals and an iced tea was about $55 plus tip. The avocado toast is literally amazing, and the salad that comes with is to die for! The only constructive feedback we have for the restaurant is that the serving of eggs in the farmer s breakfast was a bit small. But everything was beautiful and I would absolutely recommend this place
Amazing food and service
Good food, fast service
Great brunch place and even better service. They are all great but Minsoo is awesome with his ways.
Underrated. Great presentation and flavour!
The waitresses were so nice and attentative, and the food was great. Their bathroom is also very nice. 10/10 would come again
The place was very cute and clean. The waitress was very kind and our food arrived in a timely manner. Everything delicious and very filling. Will be coming back again!!
The place is really cute and the food was really good! The staff were all also very nice and attentive (I m sorry for making you guys fill my water cup every 5 minutes thank you 10/10 would come again :D)
Lovely atmosphere and delicious food! Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely bring family and friends here again 10/10!
The food was really good, the service was good, everyone was really nice and it was also very clean. I would definitely come back again.
Amazing experience! Food was great, had the duck waffles, service was amazing, would come back again!
I really enjoyed Duck Benny and I thought the pear paired perfectly with the hollandaise sauce, a beautiful dish. I will definitely come back soon!
Very clean interior design and washrooms were also really clean. Food and drinks came on time and were solid as well. Salmon Eggs Benedict was fantastic, and the blueberry sauce was also very good
Duck and Waffle is to die for.
Lovely experience everytime I come here. I started coming as covid restrictions were lifting and it was easy to get a seat. Happy for the owner but this can get packed. Chicken and waffles is top top top. My fav for chick n waff, alongside Dirty Bird. Juicy and crispy, me a solid balance of sweet and savory. To.die.for. Good variety of items on the menu. Only improvement is I wish they offered drip coffee too. :)
Delicious food, beautiful restaurant and amazing staff. Highly recommend to try crab cakes benedicts !! Will definitely return back :)
I love this brunch place! Super cozy inside, and not too busy on a Sunday brunch. Their chicken and waffles are top notch-- it also comes with salad, fruit, and Cajun home fries. This dish definitely lives up the hype. I also got to try their crab mac and cheese, which was pretty good, if youre a fan. For drinks, I ordered their matcha latte, and kudos to the barista who made a Pac Man art on the latte! Overall, Im so glad I tried this place out and I would definitely come back again!
Fresh delicious food and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Highly recommend giving this place a try. Portions are generous.
This place HAS to be tried. I would say the best bennies in Toronto. I came to try the regular Benny and vow to come back for the duck Benny and the chicken waffles.
Super cute brunch boxes!
Had a lovely brunch there with my family. They were very friendly and the food was great
Brunch was amazing very reasonably priced considering serving sizes, presentation was great, food was tasty and unique, and the service was excellent. We ll definitely be back our new favourite brunch spot!
Great options. Had the hot cheetos mac/cheese and breakfast sandwich. Coffee was great. Very busy but we had reservations.
First time here. They opened about a year ago. Extremely creative menu, with favour palates that will rock your world. Try the chicken burger with watermelon. Wow!
Ordered takeout. Everything was great, absolutely worth the money. A really solid brunch, no complaints. Chicken and waffles great!
Cute little brunch spot with some fancy and fun options! They have the regular eggs Benny etc, but they are really known for their something and waffles! The waffles are made fresh to order, and the atmosphere was clean and inviting! Good service and good offerings!
Amazing atmosphere, great service, delicious beverages and food that is presented so beautifully!! Thank you O smae for a wonderful brunch!
Its an actual, real, proper cappuccino
Outstanding value. High quality, thoughtfully prepared, chill environment with great service. The fried chicken and waffles - tender chicken and super light and crispy waffles. Quite different and really good.
Good food and my fav was hojicha latte
The food is so fire here.
This is the best brunch place ever!!!
The taste is good. Small portion compares to other places with the current price. Not enough servers, only one person for everything. If you are expecting a better service, go to other brunch place. If no rush and willing to wait, it s a good choice. It seems all new stuff and not familiar with the machine. Won t come again, not recommend.
My new favorite brunch restaurant. Everyone knows Saturday/Sunday brunch is the most important meal of the week, and OSOMAE knocks it out of the park with their duck benny. If youre starving, go for the chicken waffles. YUM!!
One of the best I ve had.
Amazing service, aesthetic environment, and of course amazing food. I paid for both quality and quantity. I was full by the end of my visit which is something I always look for when dining out.
Great brunch place in East Chinatown Toronto!
Had the farmers breakfast, possibly the freshest eggs Ive ever had. My dad got the duck burger and it was so soft and delicious. Matcha latte was excellent, too. Love the vibes and aesthetic.
Great brunch spot! Love the atmosphere and food, simple and effective brunch menu, try the duck benny, or add the pulled duck to any breakfast- it is delicious! Beet the berries smoothie is awesome. Highly recommend this b fast spot.
Ive had this spot on my to-go list and finally made it there for a self-care day yesterday. The space is large and clean. It was pretty empty (expected for a Monday afternoon) so service was prompt and the waitstaff were friendly. I wanted freshly squeezed OJ but they only serve tropicana :(. I got a herbs & Berries Ice Fusion Tea which was super refreshing! For food, I ordered the crab cake benny and this was AMAZING! everything tasted fresh and even the salad on the side (which I usually ignore) was delicious! The fries were a bit dry but the rest of the meal made up for that shortcoming. Im curious to try other things on the menu and Ill be back. Update: Included photo of the cutest avocado toast I had last week on my second visit!
Amazing breakfast and generous portions!
The food here is soooo delicious!! So flavourful so delicious!! The watermelon smoothie is Devine! The duck confit poutine is so yummy! Will definitely be coming back!!
Went with my friend, we got the duck poutine, and I got the chicken and waffles. Everything was delicious and crispppppy! We also got a matcha latte, watermelon margarita and iced green tea which all were great. Our server greeted us warmly and the overall vibe was welcoming and wholesome. Would definitely come back and refer friends for brunch!
Duck Penny & Farmer Breakfast with Hotjilatte. The food very nice and delicious
Went in a group of 7 including 4 kids. Service was friendly, warm and attentive, all the food was delicious. The kids loved it all and so did we. Will be back for sure.
Wow! Amazing food and awesome service! Duck Bennie and the chicken wrap - can t wait to go back!
Friendly staff, good food. Usually there s no line up which makes it great for a weekend brunch!
Good breakfast/brunch or coffee place in East Chinatown. Duck confit eggs benny was delicious!
Really clean environment with friendly staff. Loved their brunch menu and the chicken & waffles were a 10/10. Just wow - everything on the plate went together so well, highly recommended. Friend got the duck confit benedict and said it was amazing too! Will be back to try the poutine, truffle fries and other duck based items :)
Very cute brunch spot. Eggs benedict was great and the hollandaise sauce was perfect. Only complaint - wish there was a bit more seasoning on the avocado toast and the sides.
What is the 4.8 here? I arrived after reserving at the same time as another couple walked in, they got their food 30 minutes before us and also other people coming after us. We were sitting in FRONT of them the whole time and they didn t even notice how long they were taking. They said they were understaffed which is okay, but so why take more customers when you can t handle it? Also upon asking them to check TWICE on the order, the cook comes to us and apologizes and says the order wasn t punched in. What did you check on? The understaffed excuse was brought up many times yet everyone else was actually being served . Terrible experience.
It is a small brunch restaurant.
Clean cafe with very friendly staff
Cute place, went in around 1pm on Sunday for brunch. Was standing around for 15 minutes and nobody approached us to even say hello or offer us one of the many empty tables. Finally flagged someone down and asked to sit. Food came super quickly and was tasteful (we got classic bennys) but they forgot about our smoothies and that came way after we were done eating. We were also asked if we wanted hot sauce which we replied yes, and the guy never came back with it. I think the service needs better organization
We went there around 11:40 on Saturday morning, no need to line up. Really cozy and clean environment with friendly staff. When they brought us the food, wow, it s big portion. The waffle is really tasty, the duck is amazing, highly recommended! BTW, their bathroom is also super clean!
I shouldnt be telling anyone about OSomae. I want to keep it secret for me. It is my favourite breakfast place. It is spacious and comfortable. The service is second to none. The menu is great. Traditional breakfast with bacon and eggs, bennys, and other items, served with fresh fruit, wonderful home fries, and green salad with house dressing. The farmers breakfast is a personal favourite, And the servers are all amazing. They are personally invested in your dining experience. Best brunch place ever. Best ever. Vegetarian options: They have a full selection of vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: They have done gluten free for me. I have celiac and Ive never had a problem.
Amazing food and amazing service
Fast service, tasty food and attentive servers! Friends and I enjoyed the food and will come again.
Does not deserve the 4.7 at all
Great food. Service was inattentive.
I had chicken and waffles. The chicken was soggy and a bit flavourless, while the waffles were overcooked and hard.
Can I just say that this place not only has great brunch but also one of the best baristas in Toronto? Her name is Rose and sometimes she makes these adorable, relatable drawings on your coffee - thanks for making us feel seen and understood Rose!
I recently had the pleasure of trying the chicken and waffles at Osomae and I was impressed. I have tried a lot of chicken and waffles around the city, and Osomae ranks up near the top. The meat was deboned dark meat and well seasoned, resulting in a juicy and flavorful dish. The batter was light, giving the chicken a nice crispy mouth feel thats not too battery to chew on. The waffle was fluffy, and the blueberry sauce and syrup added the perfect amount of sweetness. The service was also great - the staff were attentive and friendly. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying the chicken and waffles here.
