Cafe Paradise in Toronto

It s a cute spot but the coffee machine was broken and it closed 3 hours earlier than it said on google which abruptly cut me and my friends meet up short. Im sure I just got a bad experience but overall I would try again based on the ambience and vibe alone

Best brunch Ive ever had in Toronto.

The bacon benny was excellent!

Don t support Paradise. It s not worth it, especially with so many gems nearby that actually care about you. What changed? Is it the management? The staff? Priorities? Whatever it was, has rotted what used to be the highlight of Bloor St W. The hours say they re open until 9pm but numerous times now they ve kicked everyone out early (!!!). The first time it happened around 8pm (no apology, no explanation; they just come up to you and tell you you have a few minutes to pack up before they close ). There were no announcements anywhere prior; not in person or social media that this is a thing. The last time it happened, they kicked everyone out at 6pm, 3 HOURS before their alleged closing hours (mind you, there were multiple people who arrived less than 30 minutes before the announcement and paid for drinks to stay. The staff didn t warn them of the potential early closures, of course.) The staff are catty and lifeless; hard to tell if that s a job requirement here or if it s because of how they re treated. The girl with dark hair and heavy bulky eyeliner was awful; kept rushing us, gave attitude, and would just stare blankly when asked basic questions. Zero social cues in that gal. The food, as others have said, is overpriced and mediocre. The manager seems to prioritize profit over basic human decency. As a customer, you just leave with a sour taste and disappointment that you keep hoping for the better but leave (3 hours early) having experienced the worst. Paradise, just change your hours. Or make an announcement EARLY. Don t let customers arrive and spend money expecting shelter from the cold or a place to have a meeting and proceed to kick them out less than 30 minutes after taking their money.It s not only scummy, but a sad sign that your business, when not doing well, throws your customers under the bus first. That s genuinely the most baffling thing I ve ever encountered and I ve worked in the industry. Plain embarrassing for the business. Do better.

Food was decent but Service was surprising bad. We were two couples and one child. The kid s meal (pasta and tomatoe sauce) arrived 15 minutes after all our meals! They also brought us the wrong dish and didn t offer to bring the right one. The wrong meal was still included on our bill. As an apology they offered us free desert but it took too long so we had to take it to go. Not sure if I d go back.

Echoing the negative reviews of a recent fellow reviewer who I was there with. But adding that the restaurant was clearly very understaffed - which is presumably the fault of poor management. I would also note that there was one server (fella with the beard) who was lovely and genuinely seemed to be doing his best under the circumstances.

Bad customer service and cold, expensive coffee - similar to their decor and general vibe. I stood at the counter for a solid 3 minutes before the barista (1 foot away from me) even acknowledged me and they seemed pissed that I was even there. I tipped because I didnt want to risk them spitting in my $8 chai latte. Strange, restrictive seating policy. I guess because theyre trying the restaurant thing again. Honestly, theyve already failed at having a full-on restaurant once (Rialto) -- Im not sure why they need to beat a dead horse and try again.

The coffee was cold, bitter and the entire experience was over priced. Do not recommend.

Been here a few times and really tried to like it, but the food is subpar, especially given the prices. One time, I ordered a pasta dish that was overly salty. When I sent it back to the kitchen, I was shocked to see staff picking at a few noodles and eating directly from my bowl before returning it to me, saying, That s just the way it tastes. It s a decent spot to hang out and grab a coffee, but I d steer clear of the food.

The staff was rude and completely unprepared to serve customers. I arrived with my friend and noticed several available tables for four people in the area designated for using laptops. When we tried to sit at one of these tables, a staff member shouted from the counter: Only two people? Sit over there! and pointed to the back of the café. We were waiting for another friend to join us so we could study and have coffee together, but we followed her instructions and sat where she indicated. After ordering our food and setting up our tablets, I started a meeting. About 10 minutes later, another staff member approached our table and, in a very rude manner, said we were not allowed to use laptops at that table. Since I was in the middle of my meeting, I simply replied okay to avoid any argument, even though the situation was already uncomfortable. We felt extremely embarrassed. As soon as our other friend arrived, we decided to pay the bill and leave. It is unacceptable to treat customers this way. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone. Terrible service and experience! The staff urgently needs to learn how to deliver effective customer service.

The Victory Burger was glorious! Killer fries, and fantastic cappuccino, too!

The food is good, although the coffee isn t the best; it s acceptable. However, this is not an ideal place to work on your computer. I went and, as usual, left my jacket on the table to reserve my spot while I went to the counter to order my coffee. When I returned, my jacket had been stolen. I understand that sometimes these things can happen, but what really surprised me was the lack of empathy from the staff. I informed the cashier, who told the manager, but I didn t receive any sign of understanding or even a simple apology. Not even an I m so sorry or It s unfortunate this happened here. I don t recommend this place for working or just enjoying a coffee. If you need to go to the bathroom, be careful and take everything with you, or you might lose your seat or your belongings. It is definitely not a safe place for remote work.

After visiting this place I m convinced they use cafe as a cover up this place is a gold mine. It s a busy street if you re not from the city it will be a little challenging. Parking is not far. The place has no business have the best smash burger in Toronto I was like wow . The pancake was amazing the kitchen deserves a big hug. Can t wait to try the dinner menu. And to add their fries damn! this place is highly recommended.

Came here for brunch, they got my order wrong but fixed it, the food was fine for what it was, but the coffee was probably the worst coffee Ive ever had. I dont know if maybe their machine needs to be cleaned, or theyre just cutting corners, but this place is noticeably worse than it used to be Also they jacked up the prices. 2 eggs on toast for 2 people shouldnt be 60 bucks

I recently went to Cafe Paradise for a solo breakfast, and after tax, tip, and coffee, my breakfast came to $50. I don t mind paying more for a good meal, but unfortunately, this one didn t justify the price. The biggest issue was the breakfast scone. It was hard, cold, and dry definitely not fresh. I asked for butter to go with it, and was shocked to be charged an additional $1.05 in a separate transaction for butter on top of the $50 breakfast. For a scone that needed butter just to be edible, that charge felt completely unreasonable. Butter should come with the scone, especially when its needed to make it more palatable.

Annoyed and disappointed. I went in this morning to get the breakfast sandwich with bacon (only $12, $15 with tax) and found that it had been taken off the menu. Now, instead of that perfectly balanced sandwich (the sauce was really good too), there is this hunk of junk of a sausage and egg, burger-size sandwich that isnt nearly as good and costs almost double the price. If the sauce on this new sandwich is the same as what was on the one before, it loses all distinction in the massive, overwhelmingly large chunks of sausage and egg. I will say, the front of house staff is kind, friendly, and good at what they do. The food is never bad, per se, but Ive been going to this place since they opened and I swear it just gets more mediocre as the prices get higher. If you are reading this and you own the place, listen to your staff more-- especially FOH-- because they deal with the people directly and know what we want. If you are reading this and you work in the kitchen, grow some balls and tell The Man to stop changing the menu because it was great before and its only getting worse.

they gave my friend with a peanut allergy a peanut butter chocolate donut instead of a salted caramel donut and kept denying their mistake instead of owning up to it also, we got greeted rudely by their pretentious manager cuz he stopped us at the door with lots of attitude asking if we re eating there???

Now that the restaurant next door has sadly closed, I m looking forward to trying their dinner here. Picked up a couple of delicious items and received the same excellent and friendly service that we experienced previously at the restaurant. Excellent cookies and focaccia.

New Review. Last year, I wrote a one-star review extremely disappointed in the Cafe. I would say they have come a long way since then. The food has improved, the service has also improved greatly (the attitude that used to be there has dissipated) and we enjoy very much going every week! Old Review: Place looks nice but it s so hot in there that s it s unbearable. Also they ve spent all this money on decor and then they place a freezer at the front that is so loud that it made it uncomfortable to be there.

Comfy vibes!! The food and drink were much more expensive than most places but overall I had a good experience, so if you want a comfy place to work and have a cup of coffee I recommend it. There are even designated sitting for laptops.

The place is so beautiful! The girl who took our order was really kind and had a great attitude. This place feels like it belongs in a movie. Dietary restrictions: They have milk options and food options for you to chose from. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs and the tables are well spaced.

This place is awesome. My neighbor suggested it and now I to regularly. The coffee is good quality and the baked goods are excellent. The staff are friendly and professional and everything about the place is high quality and clean.

Ive enjoyed breakfast here on two occasions, and each time, the service was very friendly, and the food proved to be delicious. While there are cheaper places for breakfast, I think Cafe Paradise is excellent value.

I didnt have a good experience, I wanted my latte in a regular mug but the barista made it in a to-go cup. And when I pointed it out she just poured it into another cup instead of redoing the coffee. Then when we sat down the waitress kept hovering around to take away our cups as soon as they are done. Then said we have to leave because the table is reserved for someone else and they will come soon. We were there to have a business meeting and because we got kicked out we had to end our meeting early. Wont be going there again.

Lots of seating!

Have been to both the restaurant and the cafe. The restaurant is good. The cafe was very expensive, and they give out vouchers to use the internet that only last 45 minutes. Does not make you feel very welcome.

This is my go to coffee shop. They have space for folks working at the front and a place to sit with friends in the back. I always feel welcome. Bread and other baked goods are excellent.

Had brunch here with friends. Grab the turkey club sandwich!

The place it s pretty service it s ok, I think they are a bit under staff. Restaurant was busy and was just 2 ppl in the floor , 1 on coffee and the other was, server bartender and runner. Anyways she was kind. Food was average 3/10. Not really tasty very plain flavour, portion was ok, but when the food it s boring it s hard enjoy. Cocktails 5/10 Expresso martini was good Caesar overpowered Coffee good but nothing special. They have good location nice looking but it s not enjoyable.

This is the best cafe in bloor, easily. Prices are great for baked goods, service is impeccable, they have a great set up for laptop work, and a really clean beautiful space. Highly recommended

I can accept laptop-free zones, I can accept a laptop-free cafe, and I can even accept that a croissant may sometimes cost $6 -- but only allowing your customers to use the wifi for 45 minutes *in a half-empty cafe* makes no sense to me. If Im going to work or study in a cafe, I will gladly buy drinks/snacks every hour or so to make sure that Im supporting them and not just taking up space. But if youre only going to allow people to use the wifi for 45 minutes before they have to leave, then you might as well make your cafe a laptop-free zone and have done with it. Why not recognize that cafes want customers and that some customers want to use their laptops for more than 45 minutes? Everything else -- the space, the food, the location -- was lovely, but I will not bother coming back here again.

The soup was incredible and affordable. The staff are sweet and its clean and beautiful. I love coming here to study and will be back to enjoy more of the menu!

Great foccacia!

Johan Sebastian Bach wrote cantatas and oratorios to celebrate the glory of God and the wonders of Creation. I wonder, however, what miraculous music the great German composer would have written to celebrate the deliciousness of the Apple Fritter (capital letters intended) at the Paradise Cafe. It is a revelation. I am happy to do a 7 km walk round trip from my house just for a single bite of what is the best apple fritter I ve ever tasted - and I ve been on a quest to find the best for years. Get there before 14:00 hours to find one. They go quickly. Still, should you arrive and not find the fritter, try the chocolate brownie, pain au chocolat or the focaccia and take a loaf of their sourdough bread home. Everything they make is the best in its category in Toronto- and maybe the whole of Canada. I want to stress how delicious and authentic the olive or tomato focaccias are; delicious olive oil and just the right dose of salt. Understand that I m no carbohydrate amateur. I m from Naples, Italy: home of pizzza and various related baked items; and in Naples breakfast is often a croissant with coffee. So, understand dear reader, that I understand the subject about which I m deliberating. I am writing this review; because the baker at Paradise Cafe deserves the highest praise, as do the lovely staff who serve them. But I was reluctant to do so: these fritters, croissants, breads and brownies (and then some) are so delicious that I was trying to keep this wonder of carbohydrate excellence all to myself. I realize now that after this review is posted, I will have to leave the house at least two hours earlier to make sure I find my fritter. But in the finest catholic tradition, I was taught to share what is good. And the baker at Paradise - not so accidentally perhaps - is aiming to please divine clients as we as ordinary ones like me. Let s just say that Dante Alighieri would surely have been a fan.

This cafe is a gem. It is very pretty, has great attention from the staff and is very welcoming. Every time I come to this part of the city I come here. I love it.

Rude staff I just got up and left. They actually said, if you dont like it you can always leave from Elaine the manager so I did. Cause I asked for another table. Glad I did cause the food didnt look all that great anyways

Amazing place. The drinks are great, nice music and the food is incredible. I recommend the chocolate brownie and the prosciutto sandwich is something else! Super aesthetically pleasing and the staff is super kind. They have a sit down restaurant area and another are if you just wanna grab a coffee and work on your computer. They give you the wifi password and you can enjoy 2 hours of free wifi. Amazing place!

A beautiful space, but that s it. The coffee and food is ok . Their wifi and seating rules make absolutely no sense. It is clear they want to be known as a restaurant and not a cafe. However, they should consider different rules during the week in the middle of the day when the entire restaurant is empty. There was one time I came to eat lunch and I needed to work at the same time. after being seated, I was told if I had a laptop I had to move from my seat to the laptop area which was full. Another time I was working in the laptop area and my wifi stopped working after 45 min. I went to buy food and I also asked if something was wrong with the wifi (I didn t know I had a 45 limit) and I was told during busy hours it s 45 min limit per person only. This is after I ordered a $25 salad. I had to convince the staff to make an exception and provide me with another wifi code.

Really relaxed vibe and the friendliest service ever!!!

Awesome food. Only thing is with espresso or whatever milk based coffee they offer; you have to ask for double. Otherwise, like my partner had flat white, which tastes like watered down or too milky with very little espresso taste.

The mortadella sandwich here is one my favourite big sandwiches in the city (comes with delicious fries) and I think about it regularly. What s not to love about crispy, salt doused focaccia, loads of mortadella and tangy bitter greens? Great vibe, extremely friendly staff, and a great place to eat, drink and work. Only qualm is needing to get an internet access code from one of the staff in order to connect - but the rest is worth it.

A very cozy and comfortable spot to get work done, with good coffee and baked goods. Lunch dishes are hit or miss but I go for the atmosphere/wifi/tables with outlets!

i love this cafe but to the chef: pleaseeeee bring back the quejadas. they were my favorite dessert ever!! slightly lemony and i loveeeeeeed them. (they maybe had glutinous rice flour, sort of mochi like texture) im a baker and i LOVED these, no idea what they were exactly but would love to eat them again

We had the breakfast plates on a Sunday morning. The food was ok but on the pricier side for what we got. The bacon was nice and crispy without being too overdone and brown...though they were on the smaller side Our favourite part was the smashed mini potatoes. We also tried a croissant which seemed freshly baked since it was crispy on the outside, but unfortunately had a strange taste like the batter was in the freezer for too long. The coffee was nice and would have been perfect if it was hotter. Enjoyed the misto but was weaker than expected - ordered a double. Love the fresh, bright, clean space here but could use some real live plants instead of all those plastic plants by the window. The service was okay...a little strange that theyd bring you the breakfast plates but you need to go up and get the baked goods and coffees yourself. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu with smaller portions.

Good pastries, nice ambiance but they cannot make coffee. They have two options for americano single and double. I assumed single would be a smaller cup. Instead they use same cup size but fill it with ton of water. It s basically brown water. Really weird. I asked to pour half water out, add a little bit of milk. She poured out half water and fill the cup again with milk. I threw the whole thing out. Feel bad about wasting cup and plastic lid. Coffee should be about quality not about obsession to fill it up.

This is a great dinner spot! Casual yet classy vibes, amazing food and drinks, and really warm hospitality. Seems like a perfect spot for a coffee date, too, plus the brunch menu looked great will definitely be back to enjoy the space at all hours of the day. Edit: great spot to bring your laptop and work. Almond milk is unfortunately my only milk option and a lot of cafes use a generic, bitter brand whatever they use here is super smooth and tasty!

I have new meaning to try this place and I m quite happy that I did. The decor is lovely. It appears you get a mixture of people here. I came to do some work, and I noticed others were too. Some came just to dine-in for breakfast or lunch. There are small and large tables, as well as a communal table if you don t mind sitting with strangers. I personally prefer the seats by the window. The double espresso latte was delicious and they offer non-lactose substitutes. The Paradise Breakfast was recommended to me because it was their most popular. I was actually blown away by the home fries. It was crispy but soft inside. The seasoning was great. I kind of did a happy dance each time I had a home fry. However, the house sausage and eggs tasted like any others I had, and the bread had a nice sour undertone. Overall, I enjoyed it and felt the price (before tip and tax) was justifiable. Ah, I also bought a peach danish later and it came to $5 or so. I was a little bit shocked at how much it came to but then again it tasted very good and the quality of the ingredients may be why it was a lot more expensive than the other danishes I had. Lastly, the staff were very kind. One of them offered me a water pitcher to save me the trouble from constantly going up for water. I will definitely be coming again.

Heard great things about this place so we checked it out. When we arrived and got a seat, we sat there for over 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging our existence. Looked at the server multiple times to get there attention and they didn t get the hint. Left after trying again and seeing the three servers chatting together. I d love to know if this place is actually good but didn t even get the chance. From people who ve worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, it was disappointing to see.

Gorgeous space, delicious gnocchi, but from the couple times I ve been in, the portions are too small if you re hungry for lunch. If the service was warm I d take it but I keep getting a saucy host/server who spoils the vibe and makes the $40+ lunch bill (gnocchi, side salad, side toast, coffee) not worth it for one. This is my first surly review on the interwebs, sorry Paradise.

The place we needed in this neighborhood, perfect for meetings, Sunday brunch or to read a book sipping coffee and eating a croissant.

Been twice and gotten the burger as well as prosciutto and Brie sandwich, both an excellent choice in my opinion! Not the most affordable but the environment is cozy and clean plus great washrooms too, which you don t really think about until you need them

Nice clean space with friendly service. The front of the cafe is available for laptop use and to-go service, where the back of the cafe functions more like a restaurant with table service. Pasties, sandwiches, pancakes and more available..and of course coffee.

Great place for breakfast or lunch, the atmosphere is lovely and they have a friendly staff. The americano is smooth and the homemade pappardelle is delicious!

Ok its great but its really expensive, club sandwich no side is $20 after tax. A double Americano is about $5.50 after tax which felt pretty expensive

New cafe shop with decent barista

We stopped in for coffee and a pastry. Coffee is a superb dark roast. Full of body and not bitter. The salted caramel basque cheesecake was truly one of the best cheesecakes I have had in my life. Service was friendly and excellent. We will be back to try a meal and hope that the cheesecake is a menu regular! Wheelchair accessibility: Love the no steps and main floor bathrooms

Really nice brunch-y place! Great service and really yummy dishes. My friend tried the Strawberry Matcha drink and the Paradise burger, I tried the Paradise Breakfast. Would love to try the Ricotta pancakes and other things next time!

Had the breakfast today and was disappointed. The sunny side eggs were over cooked and a round sausage patty for $22.00. The food and coffee were mediocre at best. Hoping for something better at those prices- service was good though.

Good, but odd. Ive been here twice and both times Ive had a really awkward service experience. The food is good, the restaurant itself is cute and clean, and overall, the vibes are nice! There are two things that are weird. First, you dont have a designated server. This might be the way the business is run - maybe servers share tips. But it makes for a confusing and strange experience as the customer because you get asked the same questions you might have just been asked by a previous server (would you like cream and sugar?) or the server asks are these your drinks? when its probably on the order what table were at? Generally, it feels like you have to initiate contact with a server to get things if you need them, so I dont love that. Secondly, never heard of a sit down restaurant charging for another cup of brewed coffee. I understand if its a latte or cappuccino or something of that ilk, but a brew coffee should be free refills imo. Pancakes are great tho :)

Quality food was good now it s just ok

I love the decor, the spaciousness and airiness of this cafe. The pastry display is beautiful. My brunch was underwhelming. Small portions, rather than fine portions, missing dessert options and cheese delivered on a plate when strictly specified as no-cheese. But Id give this cafe another chance. And so should you. Its a lovely place.

Nice ambience but 18 dollars for a mediocre chicken sandwich with white sliced bread? And it doesn t even come with a salad? Cmon people, we can t let these businesses rip us off like that.

Club Sandwich and Cobb salad were delicious, and freshly made. Some Staff are new so be patient and just ask. Lots of space and a good place to have a conversation while having lunch with a friend.

Not impressed with the food, and the service was quite possibly the worst I ve seen in the city - servers are either on Prozac or Drunk manager didn t seem to be fully their either.

Others should definitely dine here. Food and drinks were amazing. Staff alone deserves 5 star. Went for my friends birthday, and they went above and beyond to make him feel special! The trivia every Wednesday from 6 to 8 was also very entertaining! Will definitely dine here again!

Really good coffee and croissants My personal favourite chai latte Food

We showed up, the nice waitress sat us down with our menus and water. Then she left and never came back again, not even to the other tables around us. No waiter walked around for the whole time we sat there and the only 2 workers we saw were behind the counter, one of which was polishing silverware. I had seen the family next to us try and flag the male worker down but he completely ignored them. I thought he just didnt see them until we had sat there about 10mins and my partner had tried to flag him down as he walked past us. It was then that I realized he was ignoring the customers on purpose. I can understand the bad service if you guys are pooling tips but if not then..?

The serving size was tiny. This is a $16 plate, plus tax and tip. I ate the quiche in 5 bites.

I enjoyed a tasty sweet pastry at Cafe Paradise; it was some kind of tart but I forget what it was called. The ambience is pleasant, but the noise level makes it less ideal for a group since it s difficult to hear each other talk.

Nice looking place, but the seating policy here is absolutely absurd. Half the place is empty, yet they literally refused to seat me or serve me for dine in because I wanted to work on my laptop because their laptop section was full. INSANITY. The food is a bit overpriced and they wont make substitutions like Id rather have fruit on the breakfast plate instead of potatoes or salad. Theres a $4 upcharge for gluten free toast even though you only get ONE slice. But, its the only place in the hood with real food and work space so I put up with it when Im lucky enough to get a seat. And dont even get me started on the wifi limits.

They will literally tell you to leave while half of their cafe is empty if you want to EAT, DRINK and work on your laptop if their laptop section is full. The non-laptop section is always empty. Its the dumbest thing Ive ever seen. You can tell the servers hate the policy as they sheepishly enforce it like abused children. I always spend at least $30 on their overpriced food and coffee just to work, yet was literally told I was not allowed to dine there if I was going to pull my laptop out while HALF THE CAFE IS ON THEIR LAPTOP IN PLAIN SIGHT. DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB.

Some of the items here are better than others but overall I think you would be pleased. Its a pretty good place. I went here one afternoon to take a zoom call and meeting. Its not a quiet place but the service is pretty good and the nibbles are decent. The food went down well too. Kid-friendliness: They have baby chairs.

Loved the vanilla latte, however I didn t personally enjoy the chai tea latte. The chai tea flavour isn t overly strong. The cookies are excellent. Service is great. Lots of options for dining in.

Nice looking cafe, but I paid 20$ for a cortado, canele, and the worst hot chocolate I ve ever tasted and I had to get up and remind the staff to make the cortado after waiting ten minutes as they forgot to make it for some reason. Wanted to ask for a refund but couldn t be bothered. Won t come back

Managment is the worst. Got served the worst food iv ever had in my life. Save your money. Management should just shut this dump down.

The ambience of the place looks great

Wasnt sure what to expect but ended up being thrilled! From the first bite of foccasia to the last bite of steak our mouths sang with pleasure at the flavors!

Almost crushed these pancakes before I remembered to take a pic. There was also a prosciutto brie sandwich, but it was long gone. Both delicious though

Opening day was September 8. Friends and I ordered varied coffees and sweets. Everything was good. Today I went with a friend and we had the complete breakfast and everything came just as wed asked. We were surprised that there was no bacon on the menu -- the server came back in a few minutes to tell us we could do a side order of bacon with the sausage breakfast. That was fine with us. At both visits the servers were simply great! The place has been renovated beautifully. Banquettes are comfortable. Washrooms are large. The Cafe replaces our beloved Courense Bakery which was the neighbourhood gathering place where you could meet a friend almost any time of day or night, read the newspaper for an hour alone, sit at a table with just a cup of coffee or order wine with lunch. The customers were young, old, shabby and chic and we felt at home. I hope Cafe Paradise can continue as beautifully as it started AND carry on some of that community feeling it would be divine.

I had lasagna, berry lemonade and fresh pasta ($6.99) through ToGoodToGo app and picked up around 7pm. I didn t prepare for dinner that night so it turned out nice one thanks to cafe paradise. Especially, beef lasagna was delicious!

What a treat it was to discover this place! Cafe Paradise is a cafe, a brunch spot, and a lunch spot. I had a hot chocolate which was delicious, one of the best I ve had and not too sweet. We got the vegetarian lasagna to take home and it tasted so fresh - great noodles, delicious zucchini and mushrooms. We also got a focaccia to take home and it was so fresh! I spoke to the staff there for a while, he was so kind and also filled up our water bottles. They have an in house baker so all of their treats are homemade and fresh. They have a beautiful and giant space which would be great for working or for a fun brunch/lunch with friends. Given how great the food and drinks were, I m keen to go back and try again soon for lunch. Highly recommend! This is a place that opened recently but I expect it will be a super popular cafe soon.

Almost 50 minutes to get a single prosciutto sandwich to go. The flavour was great, though, but the size of the sandwich and the wait time are not worth it. I stopped by to get a quick sandwich and it ended up being even longer than taking a table and eating there.

Almost made me reconsider Toronto as a city. Really good coffee and food. Vibe is also really nice. Get the fried calamari you wont regret it.

This review is based on my morning coffee and treat purchase, as I understand this place has a broader offering. For my first time, grab and go, 5 stars. Friendly staff and good pricing; not to mention a delicious miso chocolate chip cookie (didnt know that was even a thing). I think the interior is beautiful and look forward to coming back to spend some time in here. EDIT: this review is based off my second visit - another coffee and treat purchase. Coffee was good today, and it costs $5 for a. chocolate croissant. Perhaps Im channeling my inflation frustration here but thats not preferable. Also, the fridge unit is really loud. The place is still beautiful but its hard to want to dine-in with how loud the unit is. Edited review from 5-stars to 4-stars.

Great addition to the neighbourhood. Visited when the light was hitting through the windows just right. Friendly service too :)

Dropped by for a quick coffee and pastry. Was pleasantly surprised by the spacious interior, cleanliness and friendly environment. Great place to catch up with someone or do some work. I d go back again! Highly recommend.

My spouse and I were in this neighbourhood and decided to try Cafe Paradise after seeing a video from IG! What a cute breakfast place, we came here for brunch and ordered cappuccinos, the burrata, gnocchi and the parpadelle. EVERYTHING TASTED DELICIOUS! The staff were also super friendly. Losing a star because I was a bit disappointed that the burrata was cut in half. The serving was way too small for a $17 dish. We got more veggies if anything.

In a word: frustrating. In more words: generally, Im not a fan of places where returns can only be processed by a few people on staff; this means management does not trust their employees, it also makes for an unpleasant experience for the customer as they have to wait for someone with enough seniority. Why I needed the refund: the pastries were mislabeled and what I paid for was out of stock. The service staff didnt realize this until after I had paid. My server didnt have authority to process my refund, but the person who did, couldnt, because although I paid with debit, apparently I had to accept a refund to a visa card, which I do not have. I then waited for a manager to issue me a cash refund. Prior to this, while waiting for my 2 hot chocolate orders, my server preparing them tells another staff member (within my earshot) that they are out of chocolate. Upon later tasting, the drinks were mostly hot milk with just a hint of chocolate. Needless to say, my first impression will be my last.

I found this cafe really enjoyable. Ambience and interior design was on point, staff was really welcoming and kind (shoutout to Kuz!!).

Very friendly staff, coffee was amazing.

The pasta is SO delicious. And I got the latte with a pumpkin spiced syrup and oat milk. The waitresses were so kind and let me stay for a bit to work on my computer for a bit. Will definitely be back!!! I also want to visit the theatre next door some time.

A huge cafe in Bloor is always a surprise. More so if this huge cafe is run like a small coffee shop with great food and hospitality. Cafe Paradise has managed to achieve this. I love the vibes. Simple, no over load at all. Good quick coffee. Delicious savouries. I am a fan of their bar type seating options that forms the spine of their cafe. They also have breakfast and brunch options. Will have to try this some day.
