79 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto, ON M6R 2K6, Canada
Cherry Bomb is on holiday! The shop will be closed from August 1 - August 7. Reopening with regular hours on August 8.
My favourite local coffee shop in the neighbourhood. Been a regular for 4 years now. Great coffee and fast service! The croissants are arguably the best in the city.
We’ve been going here regularly for the past three years. Cherry Bomb definitely has some of the best croissants in Toronto! And the price is not bad either. I loove their apple pie croissants, which they make on occasion. Sometimes they’ll have day-old croissants for half price too.
Best croissants in the area! I visited here with a friend the other day and they were very impressed by the quality. Pesto Havarti is the best flavour but you really can’t go wrong.
Cherry Bomb is a cozy spot with a great vibe and consistently delicious coffee. The atmosphere is inviting, making it perfect for a quick stop or a relaxed break. The staff is friendly, and there’s something special about the experience here that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend checking it out!
I have eaten a lot of croissants. May e too many. Some were better than others. The Cherry Bomb croissants are very good. Flaky and buttery. I also bought a bag of coffee that smells sooooo gooood I want to live in it. The staff is friendly, and I'll probably go back tomorrow.
My all time favourite coffee in the whole city. Their normal caff blend is delicious, their oat milk is so frothy and perfect. I also looove their decaf coffee! Scones and desserts are just as good.
Recently stopped by and absolutely loved the vibes! Very chill and laid back, the baristas were playing great music! We grabbed their cortado with oat milk and butter croissant. The coffee was great, loved the cortado! The croissants were very fresh and still warm! Highly recommend stopping by!
I was surprised by the long line for this place but I guess they’re one of the best coffee shops in this side of downtown. I tried their latte, date pecan scone, and gruyere croissant. Latte was slightly colder than I expected and the scone wasn’t that exceptional but croissant was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had.
Best coffee ever!
Great place for specialty coffee and fresh baked goods.
Very rare to find a place with both excellent baked goods and excellent espresso drinks Vegetarian options: Vegan banana bread
Pretty much the best banana bread I have had in the city. 10/10 flavour, even at 3pm. Must try
The butter Croissant is Thiccc and dense
the croissant is easily one of the best in the city. yes its a little pricey but its delicious and supports a local business!
EXCELLENT baked goods, delicious drinks, and amazing staff! #contestentry Food
Coffee and the croissants are the best in the city IMO. Most of the staff I have encountered are a little on the cold side so don t expect a bubbly Starbucks interaction, but the coffee and croissants keep you coming back.
Best croissant flavours, coolest staff and vibes on the strip
Great cortado and amazing service every time!
Ice cream is good, pastry not that much, the staff wasn t friendly
The coffee and baked goods are enjoyable, but after many visits over the years, the atmosphere can sometimes feel a bit unfriendly.
The London fog was so good and the butter croissant was stellar. The staff was very friendly. Highly recommend
The croissants were okay, nothing to write home about. I was expecting more given all the great reviews.
Coffee is great, but croissants are so flavourful and fresh! Definitely a must try.
The coffee shop has a nice community feel in the morning when a lot of locals rush there for their caffeine fix. The black coffee and black americano is pretty bland ( no flavour profile) despite them offering a medium and dark roast . The pastries are better than your average cafe. The baristas are not very friendly.
Great croissants, but the gentlemen that works the front sometimes is unpleasant.
Classic cafe in roncey. Very consistent coffee, never had a bad cup there. I usually get an iced vanilla latte and the sweetness is always perfect. Great space, kind staff
Great coffee and popular place - a fave in the hood!
The coffee is really one the the best in town
Great food, good coffee
I love Cherry Bomb. Quality coffee - not cheap, but not overly expensive. My only issue is that they dont take debit. At first, I loved that fact, it makes it seem like the small coffee shop that it is, it just has a nice feel that way. But if I forget to take money out (which is EVERY DAY) then I cant get my morning coffee from there, which is too bad. But overall, really lovely place with lovely staff. Edit: Since COVID, they now take debit/credit, so this is no longer an issue. This place is still the go to place for a good cup of coffee even after all these years. One of the best!
Great coffee and pastry!
Good coffee. Delicious pastries! Parking can be annoying.
I enjoy the coffee here and it is on my way to work. Unfortunately I m leaving this review because the service is consistently cold and unwelcoming. I ve stopped tipping completely as I don t feel the people working the counter are delivering any service worthy of a compliment. If you can t even respond to my hello with no other customers in the shop, you aren t really working in customer service. I find this to be true for almost all of the front of house staff working here - usually too preoccupied with gossiping about other coworkers than acknowledging customers. It s unfortunate because all the pastries are wonderful! And I say that as someone who worked in and managed a bakery for over a decade.
Terribly rude and conceited staff who only seemed to acknowledge each other, coffee is nothing to write home about either.
Loved the coffee and croissants. Makes for a great stop while wandering around Roncy
Lovely cute cafe, with great pastries and drinks. Atmosphere is great too, just wish they had a public bathroom as I had to go down the street to find one and pay another store to use theirs and came back.
Cute hole-in-the-wall with excellent coffee and baked goods. Not always consistent, but even the worst coffee Ive had there is a million times better than most other places.
AMAZING pastries and great coffee. The croissants are baked in house.. we saw the staff making various items. Was a rainy sat morning but the place was very busy. Possibly because they open early
Stopped here on my way to the lovely High Park and what a cute place. The staff was so hecking friendly and complimented my dog which always gets a flutter in my heart (he was seated outside looking grumpy as ever because life is awful duh) and waiting for me to get my fuel. The Americano was good and espresso they used was TASTY. It gave me the boost I needed for my hike. I also got the breakfast cookie and HOLY CHRIST ON A CRACKER that thing was actually the bomb. It was like a delicious hearty bowl of summer oats smashed into a cookie and I am so happy I ate it. Love this place.
Small ramp on the outside makes the restaurant accessible however there is no accessible washroom. You can get both ground coffee beans as well. Whole beans in a variety of roast and locations of origins. It s my go to spot after any visit to the area. Wheelchair accessibility: Small outside ramp with high-grade, which is OK for Power wheelchairs as well as manual wheel. No access to a washroom on the first floor.
Visited on a Saturday morning. Very busy, and a small coffee shop. Great coffee. Great staff. Not a lot of space. Due to its size and volume it was a bit difficult to figure out where the line to order was as there were 15 people waiting for their coffee. Once we got situated, there was a very smooth operation. Staff were very nice and quick to greet you and take your order. They were hustling to make sure you didnt have to wait too long. There also had some of the most delicious looking pastries all home made. Biggest down fall is the lack of seating. This is more of a grab your coffee and pastries and go kinda place, but with the heart of a bigger sit and stay type coffee shop. Note that they also sell coffee blends as well to take and make at home. Coffee is delicious. Parking: Standard issue city Street parking outside Kid-friendliness: You could definitely bring kids here but do you really want to give them caffeine? Wheelchair accessibility: Step up to get into the cafe
Still the best croissants Ive had in the Roncey area. Update. These have been downsized and destuffed. Couple instances of zero almond paste in croissant. Taking a pass on future croissants Food
Staff was friendly, baked goods were awesome
For the owners info !!! : We got sick by eating here last weekend. It might be because of the Pesto- Havarti croissant. Both me and my partner got really sick. We basically got food poisoning. Please check your inventory as there is a salmonella outbreak. Thanks
Great croissants
I wish they could train all the employees to make the same standard of Americano as the one tall guy there makes. He makes the best Americano in the city. The grinds they use are very good. I just wish this place was consistent. When they pour a proper Americano like I said its the best in the city. Just train all your staff to that level.
Not sure why but the people who work here are nasty, terrible service.
Used to go here in 2020, their croissants were the best. Now, not only they arent as good as they used to be but the service is even worse. I ordered an almond croissant today with my friend who got the chocolate one. I was served a plain croissant with powdered sugar on top and all the almond croissants in the shelves had roasted almonds on top. I asked for it to be changed to one of those and I got the worst attitude ever with a comment saying they are all filled anyways. Customer service is below 0 here unfortunately!
The drip is amazing here!
Nice local coffee shop with a very interesting chewy bomb espresso shot. I took the latte; it was a strong shot for a small cup but you can add milk afterwards to tailor the taste. It was quite nice (despite the Canadian paper cups altering the taste). Too far from where I live, but I really liked it.
Stopped in for a quick snack on a cold day. Had a pizza croissant and a chai latte. Hit the spot. I would go back again. Friendly and atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday afternoon.
Loved the baked goods.will drop by again when in the neighbourhood. Thanks.
Great food and coffee. Mediocre (at best) service and worn-out exterior. I am always pleased to get something out of here, regardless.
My fave croissants in the city! And I love th coffee and the staff too.
Cherry bombs croissants are the absolute best
Great coffee, pastries and service! We loved stopping by here on our trip and will definitely head back next time we re in the area!
everything s perfect!!!
Probably some of the best coffee in toronto
It was closed for holidays. Usually it is very good. Love the London fog latte Open for in store orders. Cards only at this point.
The chocolate chip cookie, while huge, was hard and not very enjoyable.
Always nice to come home. Coffee is the best. Parking: Park around the corner. Not close to the hospital. Food : 5/5 |
Ngl this is perhaps the best croissant Ive ever had, anywhere in the world.
They have the best almond croissants and wonderful coffee
Okay this is our FAVORITE coffee place and we buy our espresso coffee beans (cherry bomb special) from here every weekend. Must try their coffee capp with oat milk or their cortado with their best croissant. I love their staff they always have good energy and theyre warm even when its hectic. Also. The coffee is relatively cheaper for the quality and quantity of the coffee bag. Absolutely must try and you will thank me later :). If you have a dog, grab a bagel from Am bagel, the cherry bomb for coffee then hit high park dog off leash and enjoy ur best weekend morning :).
Great
One of my more recent city faves. Perfect coffee and even better croissants.
One of the best coffee shops in Toronto, hands down. The coffee and treats are always amazing, and the folks who run the shop are wonderful. Go in and grab a coffee! Vegetarian options: They have vegan and vegetarian food and drink options Dietary restrictions: They have options for vegan and gluten free Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp
Great croissants with unique flavors and crispy outsides!
Coffee was good. Banana bread was amazing. Staff were grumpy/unfriendly both times Ive been. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan treats. :)
Welcoming & quaint little coffee shop in Roncesvalles. Big fan of their beans, esp for espresso Cherry Blossom Special - makes for a delicious espresso / lattes @ home. Ordered the oat milk latte, regular croissant & chocolate croissant. Latte - tasty & just the right temp. Croissant - while delicious, def not a traditional or fluffy French croissant. Had a crunchy exterior (v good) but interior is more doughy than flakey. Same goes w the chocolate croissant. Taste great.
I was walking on Roncy when I saw a crazy long line outside this place on a Saturday morning. I figured, if it s raining and folks are waiting in the line it must be good. Hell yeah it s good. Probably the best croissants I ve tried in Toronto. The smoked cheddar and freshly baked butter croissants are out of this world. We wanted to try, ended up buying two bags of them. The americano is tasty and perfectly blended and pairs sublimely with the baked goodies. Keep bakin cherry bomb! [Update on February 2023] changing my 5 star to 3 star. Success has sadly changed the attitude of the staff and quality of the coffee. Plus now they re out of croissants more often than not, I ve visited them 3 more times and haven t been able to find the cheddar croissants any more. Their brewed coffee this time was watery and when I brought this up to the staff they were indifferent, didn t even offer to change it and only offered to top it up with yes more watery coffee. Couldn t drink it. The cherry on top was when my wife asked for the washroom to change our baby s diaper and was refused. Unexpected indifference from the 4 women behind the counter. Won t be coming back.
Delicious croissants and cookies! Try the apple pie croissant!
Very good and fast service. I really like the espresso they use. Fairly priced for a locally owned coffee place.
Best coffee I have had. Wish you weetein BC
Can never go wrong with a cappucino and croissant from Cherry Bomb. One of the best in entire GTA!
I work around the corner and always hear about this coffee shop. The croissant was amazing, fresh and fluffy. The coffee also great i got a Latte with almond milk and Ive been back numerous times.
Great community spot for croissants. The restaurant has limited seating and can be busy, but it is worth the wait. The staff is kind and fast moving. The croissants are delicious.
Its a very bustling place during the weekend and for good reasons. They have amazing bakeries and good coffee (hit and miss). Though I feel the service good but its a bit rushed because its always so busy. Try their croissant and Almond flour meringue ball, delicious !
Great coffee, their banana bread was very tasty. A must go place if you in that neighbourhood.
Almond croissant was amazing!
Used to come more regularly but dont anymore. If two customers order same thing like Americano, I dont see or hear them ground fresh beans between cups. Cutting corners? Anyway, keep an eye out and expect fresh beans for full price coffee... I should not have to ask for it each time.
Coffee heaven
The finest cappuccino with outrageously good pastries
Best coffee and pastries youll find outside of Paris.
Don t really know how you re going to sell diuretics without having a bathroom
Great place for coffee and cookies, pastry.
Friendly staff and amazing pastries! Coffee is the best!
This was my favourite spot to grab coffee and if course a croissant or two during my week in Roncevalles area. The coffee is great and the croissants are even better!
I havent written a review for a while but Im breaking my silence to hype this place. My Oat milk latte was $5!!! That is amazing!!! It was delicious and the texture of the foam was perfect and these are all important things but I was gobsmacked by the price and asked the barista if she was making it with oat milk and she said Yes. We dont charge for alternative milks. I love this inclusivity. Please give this business all your money
Not everyone knows how to make cafe latte there. Check your coffee cup before you leave and, if it is too light, it is because the foam. After a sip that foam gets down and there is like not even half a cup of coffee left in a cup. For $5.25 there should be right amount of coffee for that money. This is rip off. Pastries are not bad. But, the way they make coffee is way below expectations.
Popular Roncesvalles takeaway coffee institution. The coffee is average but the baked goods are next level. Just make sure you get there before 11 am. The goodies go fast.
The coffee and croissant were excellent! Very quick and friendly service. Seating is limited inside and out.
Great local coffee spot!
Weird vibes from a weird Place. Won t be back. Food
Incredible ice coffee and lovely staff
Best coffee in toronto. And croissants.
Chocolate croissant fresh from the oven.. still warm and iced coffee were delicious!
Used to be the best coffee and croissant in the city. Now it s the opposite. It s a no go for me. I ve tried several times to see if it was a one off but there have been too many visits for it to be a one off. Food: Croissants are dense and less tasty. The milk drinks all made the same - like a latte. Service: always unfriendly
One of favourites spots. Great service and atmosphere and just about every item on their menu is so yummy! Best scones in the city too.
The croissants and other baked goods are ABSOLUTELY amazing. The coffee is a nice addition to wash it down. More of a grab and go vibe but you can sit and people watch by the window.
So delicious
The croissant are so delicious and fresh! The latte as well very good!
Best croissants in the city!!! Obsessed with the fig and Brie one - hope it comes back soon!
Most EXCELLENT coffee and Croissants
Never been ...
It happens to be in a pretty good neighborhood. I had a cappuccino and banana bread (vegan). Both were good.
So their products remain super good quality, but I agree with another review that all the milk drinks are made like lattes. They even call out latte when you ordered something else and get mad when you ask what you ordered for. Oh well, it s not like there s a lack of good coffee in Toronto.
The food and coffee is great. The service is stale.. the girl making my drinks seemed rude and like she didn t want to be there..her attitude instantly made me regret my tip lol I want to note the taller girl at the cash with the glasses is the only person in my opinion that should be interacting with customers. I was in a great mood and I didn t like starting my morning speaking with person who clearly didn t want to interact with me. I like to go to places that make me feel good about going in. There are other businesses in the neighbourhood that better represent the attitude of Roncy.. let s go to those .
The best croissants in town
First visit was nearly eight years ago and they have always been serving great coffee, hire friendly staff, and have delicious baked goods. More of a take-away spot than a hangout place, and I miss their date squares, but I still make a trip for a treat or a spro whenever I am in the area!
Delicious iced Americano! Would come back.
This place is a cute find on my first stay in Roncesvalles, by the reviews evidently an institution in the area. Steady business when I arrived Sunday 8:30am, but no line. Croissant was excellent, but coffee did not make it up to my moderate expectations.
This is my fave place to get croissants and a latte. They are perfect! Anyone who visits me in Toronto gets to enjoy them too. Thanks for being so consistent, friendly and delicious. I love all the staff too!
Butter croissant (inconspicuous look but surprisingly delicious. Very unique texture, like pretzel? Super dense chewy but still get the buttery flakey layering? Had nothing like this before. Love
Amazing croissants, go early on weekends as they sell out. Love that they can make drinks actually extra hot when I ask
Service is really unfriendly here which is too bad.
Amazing pastries and coffee! Fresh made on site. My go go place on Roncy on Sunday mornings Also I am French and never had a cheddar and I was soooo delicious
Lots of good coffee shops on Roncy but this is by far the best. The establishment itself has its own charm. The location, closer to the lake and on the quieter south side of Roncy which still has its fair share of traffic. The coffee and the pastries are fantastic, can t wait to go back!
Exceptionally good coffee!!
Simply the best!!! Better than all the rest!! I absolutely cannot say anything that could go above a 5 star rating than Wow!! It was so FUGGIN spectacular, we went back again today!! Staff amazing... Best in the bizz.. food..organic and although Ive never had, it just made me think... I couldnt tell the difference except it was the best banana bread and morning cookie.. total orgazmic if I can describe..So, if ya never been then just take the time..tell emm ya saw this and Marlin made you come. If ya hate it (which ya wont) I pay for it!! Hahahaha ... Its that good and its that amazing.. 10 Stars... And a Cherry on Top...
Amazing coffee and croissants!!!
Wonderful, lattes, great croissants, and yummy cookies. A great little spot.
Cherry Bomb definitely has the best baked goods and good coffee, but their service is really terrible. It isnt just slow, they actually treat customers with contempt. Go there for great product but be prepared to be treated like an inconvience for being there.
Theres no wifi at this cafe so you cant work here.
Met a friend for coffee here a couple times and the coffee is delicious and the baked goods are always good as well. Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp into the cafe and lots of floor space to accommodate turning around
Great coffee!
Excellent americano misto with oat milk. Definitely a stand out coffee shop. Expect a bit of a wait in line with the current pick-up window setup.
Amazing Coffee and Croissants, but Im convinced they are intentionally slow serving to create excessive lines as advertising and hype.
Great local place with delicious pastries and best decaf on Roncy
Cortado had a bitter aftertaste and coffee is never supposed to be bitter. Their medium roast brewed is nothing to write home about and lacking flavour. The service isnt the greatest either. The 2 star is because the milk was the right temperature for the cortado. Their baristas seem to know what theyre doing but the coffee beans arent helping. I suggest they change their roaster and perhaps invest more in customer experience.
Espresso is excellent
Dark roast Americano is the best way to experience their dark roast beans fro my experience. Great service and super quick.
Best coffee taste and I enjoyed a lot
Love the dark roast coffee (whatever it s called!). I always grab a bag of beans when I go there. Fresh cookies are good too!
BEST BAKED GOODS! Get there early in the morning for an amazing assortment. There is a line out the door always and that should tell you everything. Their coffee is awesome and its a good place to grab an iced coffee year round.
Good coffee and the croissant was good too: I love croissants and have had them *everywhere* so, in my books, this is not a top 5 croissant that I heard reported, but it was pretty good. Service is fine but it is more of a take out counter than a sit-in café. For that, and the friendly service, I would come back!
Crossiants are amazing.
So cute inside!
You should try their ALMOND CROISSANT ! Sooo good and their coffee is so aromatic and flavourful! This place will become your favourite place! :)
Awesome coffee
Amazing scones.
Definitely one of the top coffee spots in the area. We buy our beans from here as well - just as delicious at home.
My favorite place on Roncy. Amazing pastry and coffee. Definitely recommend checking out this place and getting croissants and coffee here for your breakfast.
Best coffee in the city. Amazing beans. Banana bread to die for.
They have the best coffee and the most delicious almond croissants in town
One of our go to coffee spots when we walk the dog. Super friendly and accommodating for dietary restrictions (ie: oat milk). Also always happy to use our reusable cups for our orders. If there are any jalapeño and cheddar croissants while you re there, grab one.
Best croissants, consistent service, Sarah are always polite to everyone despite being crazy busy.
Stopped in for a quick jolt of caffeine and was presently surprised with the different variety of coffees and the reasonable prices. I would return when in the area.
Very nice coffee and baked goods! Banana bread was very flavourful and moist
Great local place for coffee & baked goods. Croissants and brioche are our favourites. We appreciate that staff continue to mask - the pandemic is sadly not over and it is good to see local business showing community solidarity.
Great coffee and treats. Hugely popular. Def worth a visit.
Great coffee and fresh homemade baked goods. Solid spot.
Fabulous brew. Simple, yet functional decor. Worth a the stop.
One of the better experience with bakeries/cafés in Toronto. Few suggestions: 1. What you sell is not a chocolate croissant. It is a chocolatine/pain au chocolat. I bought one thinking youd give me a croissant au chocolat but ended up let down. The chocolatine was good nevertheless. 2. Your almond croissant filling could be definitely be better. You should use frangipane instead of that siruppy almond filling you currently use.
Cmon! The croissants! Great coffee and great, friendly staff.
They have the BEST croissants. Also very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.
I always buy 12 croissants in a box when i go there....but Lately the croissants has become way smaller for the same price, and the girls are not nice
They bake all their things in house and they are so so good - especially their croissants which come with fancy cheeses - gruyere, aged cheddar, etc. They sometimes have these thumbprint cookies which are to die for so if they have them get it. Oh and the coffee is great too! They dont accept card so bring cash otherwise there is an atm next door.
Great local coffee place when Im in need of a midday coffee! Would be great if they had more gf options but the coffee is really great!
Their cortado is excellent! And the service was quick and personable
Good coffee. Even better baked goods. If you want to treat yourself get a croissant
Best scones in kilometers...friendly staff, decent coffee -- whats not to like??
Great service and fantastic food
Staff is usually friendly, but not always. Wide choice of croissants. Im not allowed to walk in with my dog, which makes me choose other coffee shops over this one.
Cherry Bomb is quite possibly one of my favourite cafes in the world. The staff are so kind and remember my order (I go there quite often so it s probably hard to forget lol). Along with friendliness the cafe itself is so charming and is a part of why Roncy village is so magical. Cherry bomb truly is a staple. I get ground beans and coffee to go here. Super sweet. The banana bread is to die for as well :) Cheers!
The amazing food
Be early enough to get a scone. They are AMAZING!!!!
Great coffee! Could use a few more tables & chairs though.... Food
