I am not sure if I met the owner but the clerk was super friendly and nice. Also, they have unlimited 3$ espresso which is astonishing!

Delicious. However sometimes the pancakes comes hard on the outside. Like melted cheese that already cool down. Great selections except square one that has a very limited menu. But In general ,depending on location, very delicioouusss

Always a delight to come back to Fuwa Fuwa. I decided to try something new this time and got the strawberry pancakes and they are so good! Thank you to the wonderful server behind the counter who was very kind and accommodating. Lots of good memories here and a very relaxing environment to hang out with friends over fluffy pancakes!

The Japanese girl who looks like the manager was very polite and always wore a big smile all the time. It really made me feel like I am in Japan. Be sure you are not in a hurry cuz the store is small and only 2 staffs are there. They need time to prepare the sweet and delicious fuwa.

More than an hour of waiting for a pancake, even though the place was not crowded. 17 dollars for a pancake with an hour wait, welcome to Fuwa Fuwa. The place opened a few weeks ago, it looks like its already several years old, not clean, no aesthetic decoration, cables lying around, greasy plastic menus, very disappointed with the experience and the broken promises .

Pancakes were light and fluffy in texture and perfectly cooked. The strawberries and cream adds a refreshing taste. There is a bit of waiting time for the food to be served, given that they make the pancakes fresh.

DISAPPOINTED!! THEY DIDN T LET ME ENTER!! Weird experience, haha !! They should update their closing time. The closing time is 10PM. I reached here at 9:40PM, the staff told me that they were closed. They didn t even let me enter. People were still dining in. It took me 30mins to reach here. I commuted just to take out from this place but I was very disappointed ! I don t understand why would they mention closing time 10PM if they don t even want to allow the customer to come in at 9:40PM!! I would highly recommend to call & ask before you come here. Because the staff might not allow you to enter !

10/10 Big, light & fluffy pancakes. Not too filling, so you can order as much as you can handle. I traveled all the way from Michigan to try them.

Store is not clean, the two staffs are very inexperienced. I ordered a sesame latte, it tastes like sesame powder poorly blended with milk. Also they over charged me at a different price from their poster, and put a default 18% tips on top of that, even tho I was only getting a latte for take out. In the end I spent 9 dollar on a cup of sesame pasted and it tastes awful

I really liked the pancakes, they re super fuffly, with the perfect sweetness and a great menu to choose based on what you prefer. Personally I love matcha so the options here are amazingg!! Also the service is a 10/10, everyone is really nice.

I have gone here three times and all three times have gotten different quality. My first time here it was the best pancakes I ve ever had, second one was pretty good but not as good, and the third one was undercooked/spilled over/lacked flavour. It s really sad because the first time I went here I thought it would be my #1 go to spot but now I won t go back. It s way too expensive for such inconsistent results.

Wanted to try these for awhile. Cannot find them anywhere near home. They did not disappoint. Soft, fluffy, and great flavor. Best pancakes I have ever had. Would definitely return.

The place is good, The service is amazing and the foods variety and presentation is amazing, my issue with the pancakes is that they tasted exactly like an omelette, it was like I was eating a very fluffy omelette with sweet toppings, I got the tiramisu pancake and a raspberry lemonade, the toppings on the pancake tasted so good but once the toppings taste went away I was left with eggs in my mouth. the lemonade was really good tho. Id come again I just wouldnt get pancakes again. the place also is in deep need for better ventilation, we came out smelling like ghee and were choking inside as it was really hot and smelly.

The place is a little small, but the dishes, flavors, and so on are amazing and fluffy, I recommend this place 100% for breakfast.

Fuwa fuwa can be great, but the quality control needs some serious work. On my most recent visit, I was disappointed by deflated and almost burnt pancakes. Compare to photos posted by other reviewers and you will see the difference. Food : 2/5

A little bit pricey for me, but the desserts are great

My first order was made perfectly and tasted yummy but the 2nd order was burnt black where it tasted like bbq charcoal. Inconsistency here it seems.

I was completely looking forward to this and I enjoyed every bite. A little under seasoned if anything.

Not to be dramatic but it was the BEST pancake I have ever had! I tried the tiramisu one and I really like they add the coffee in a separate container so you can decide how much of you want or if you want it at all (I personally chose not add it as I m not a big fan of coffee). The only thing I didn t like is the size of the place, is really narrow and small, so not so comfortable to eat there. Also they open at 12pm, so you can t have it as breakfast.

Waited weeks for these highly anticipated pancakes and they did not disappoint! We all loved the food, service, and cozy space while we ate. 10/10 recommend the Nutella and Signature Pancakes, the strawberry latte, and time with the friends or family you bring with you!!!

Would have been 5 stars if we didnt have to wait 30+ mins to place an order. Forget about seating there. They need more people working there and less management doing what they do best - understaff to increase the bottom-line.

I came in on Friday for a little birthday breakfast and it was so nice. The staff were so friendly and kind. All of the staff smiled and greeted all the guests. Deserts are amazing. Service is good. Chairs are uncomfortable and unhygienic (cannot be disinfected). The tipping point for my negative review is the NON-STOP Christian rock and rap music playing. I would not be able to bring any of my friends here, or recommend any 2SLGBTQ+ people come here as it is not a safe space. It ruins the atmosphere and makes $17 for 2 small deserts a painful pill to swallow while waiting for the food - that is sitting in a display cabinet - seriously what am I waiting for?? Usually in casual food service like a cafe you are presented with each item as its ready. So give me the cheesecake slices while you make the croffle? Keeps customers happy...

Had a very pleasant experience today at Fuwa Fuwa. Its a nice, cozy cafe perfect for dates (assuming you can get a seat because it can get busy). Had the Fuwa Fuwa latte, hazelnut espresso, avocado croffle (got lucky because they only had one left), and the raspberry pancake with carmelized banana. They all tasted good but in particular I really recommend the raspberry pancake which was light and fluffy enough to eat without a knife. Obviously, the owners thought so too because theres a star on it on the menu. I probably recommend sharing it with someone simply because the cream can be filling. Hazelnut espresso was my personal favourite due to its fragrant flavour. Service was very good. They were all friendly and quick despite being short-staffed. (Theyre hiring if anyone is interested.) 10/10 would come back but not during rush hour!

Loved my experience and the service was great. The pancakes do take some time to be served because they make it fresh each time which is a plus. The restaurants exhaust might not be the best though, you might smell like pancakes after you leave the store. But overall it was great, would suggest sharing it with another person!

Few things first. Everything is made fresh to order so that has a significant upside in terms of quality of the food but means its a bit pricey and takes a minute after you order (20mins maybe). So adjust your expectations. They have a LOT of flavor choices but TBH the basic puffy pancakes with cream and berries are my personal fave. Id skip the french toast (the batter just takes away from the fluffiness) but Ive liked basically all the flavors to some degree and I dont really thing you can go wrong. The drinks are fine but not up to other places on this strip of bloor. Go for the pancakes. Seating is somewhat tight and if I have a singular gripe - its the ventilation, I often find the smell slightly offputting. Still this place is 100% worth a try. Pancakes and a drink with tip/tax were 23$/person in early 2024. No coupons. Kid-friendliness: Good for families but seating beyond 2 people is limited to counters and its too tight for a stroller imo.

Very delicious pan cake. Its not regular pan cake. Very soft, bouncy and light. Taste is so different. One of the best souffle pancake and dessert cafe. Except pancake, there are Macarons, Drinks and other dessert items available. Parking is the issue. Limited parking on street.

Not a fan of their drinks. Banana latte was just banana flavor with milk and sugar. Way too sweet and tastes horrible. Still give this place a 3* because their pancakes are suppose to be really good; did not get a chance to try since wait time is half an hour. I do not recommend coming for the drinks.

Fuwa Fuwa Pancake is a cozy little Japanese soufflé pancake spot between Spadina and Bathurst Station. Their pancakes are fluffy and delicious to eat in person. Service was great and it was a nice break for delicious food. We would recommend stopping by! The soufflé and dessert cafe has a small and narrow layout with 5 tables for 2-seaters and 6-7 high bar stool seats. For the first time, we tried the Fuwa Fuwa Signature Pancake, which was very fluffy and had a delicious texture. The Japanese pancakes typically take about 20 minutes to make, but they are worth the wait. We also ordered two beverages - the refreshing mango soda and the unique strawberry genmaicha. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially with their menu recommendations and their attentiveness to the assembly of the pancakes. The cafe is eco-conscious, as they use eco-friendly utensils. Note, that the bathrooms are located past the curtains in the back, which might be a bit tricky to find at first.

Yummy light fluffy pancakes! Its quite a small space - six tables. Noisy when its full. You order your food and then they will bring it to your table. No macarons. It was quick for us - I think less than 10 minutes for the two pancake dishes. We got the strawberry - really yummy with the strawberry sauce. And we got the fruit explosion.

Probably my favourite dessert spot downtown! I ve been to japan and had soufflé pancakes many times and fuwa does it really well! Soufflé pancakes take at least 20 min to wait (same as in japan), and it is worth the wait. Order one of their delicious and beautiful looking $5 drinks while you wait. Super Light and fluffy! Stay away from the CNE installation in the Food Building!! They had a tray of stale pancakes sitting out and that s what they served. The sign shows lovely pictures of 2 (TWO) pancakes and you re given 1 (ONE) flat, stale pancake for $12. Extremely misleading and the staff did not care. Save yourself some time and money.

I ordered for the first time through Uber Eats and I was really disappointed. Just like the other reviews, food is really so small. Nothing special about their croffle as it was so bad and it tasted like cooking oil. They used the same oil over and over again. Quality is beyond mediocre and unfortunately, I m not recommending this to anyone I know.

The pancakes are spectacular, super soft, delicious, excellent temperature and they dont use added sugar (Im not too sure about this hahaha), and the drinks are delicious, I was only craving the flambéed cheesecake. I came here twice and although it was quite the wait, I knew why it was like so. Pancakes generally need a lot of time to complete, let alone souffle pancakes. Once cooked, when it came out, it was so moist, warm and jiggly! I loved it! It was my first time going there with a friend and then I came back to this same location with my mom and even she liked it! Im happy now Fuwa Fuwa expanded their franchise to uptown so I dont have to travel so far for some infamous pancakes! The atmosphere here however was too loud because the music was blaring a little bit too loud, but its ok. Its my ADHD and autism that were magnifying the situation too that day. The florescent lights were too bright as well but its because I wasnt familiar with the place as is and everything felt foreign to me. Whether its downtown or Scarborough, the consistency of how they make the most perfect jiggly pancakes is amazing! I just wish they made the pancakes bigger in size though!

I had been craving Japanese pancakes for the longest time and Fuwa Fuwa delivered. The pancakes were soooo fluffy and delicious & just the right amount of sweet. We got the signature pancakes and it was perfect. We also ordered croffle - cookies and cream with a side of vanilla ice cream. This was the perfect dessert- crunchy and delicious. Love this place and will be back again! Parking: We easily found paid street parking even though it was the weekend- no issues

Pretty good fluffy pancakes. I got the raspberry banana which was okay. The raspberries were sour and the glaze on the banana was a bit too burnt. The tiramisu was better and id recommend that.

Small, tightly seated, cafe. The staff were very friendly, but they seemed to be getting overrun by online orders to the detriment of the in person customers. Our food was beautiful looking and delicious though. I forgot to get a photo of my yuzu soda, but it was basically sprite with bitter sugared yuzu rinds on the bottom. I had to throw out the drink because I couldn t finish it. How long your food takes does seem to be reliant on what you order as well. We got a soufflé pancake and people who came in 10-15 minutes after us were able to get their croffles and other items, eat them, and leave before we received our order. I believe start to end time was over 30 minutes before our order came out. I was heavily entertained by the unintentionally comedic, unironic marketing/influencer buzzword filled conversation of the table next to mine, so at least my wait wasn t boring.

I had never seen this kind of ugly croffle in my life before. It did not come out as picture. Taste was okay. Souffle served as I expected it to be. I ordered a crople, but I was embarrassed because it was so different from the picture. It was delicious, but honestly, its hard to not like the combination of banana and Nutella... The soufflé came out similar to the picture. Ive never had a soufflé before, so I dont know what it tastes like, but it wasnt bad... the taste of plain bread mixed with meringue...

I ordered a Fuwa Fuwa Signature and French toast, and they looked just as delicious as they did in the photos. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, and I will definitely visit again.

A great spot for desserts. I ve had the takeout version and definitely prefer doing dine-in instead as it tastes much better when it s fresh and on a plate. The pancakes are light and fluffy. The menu is quite extensive with various of drinks and other desserts like croffles. Note that you have to pay at the front counter before you place a seat. It s a bit more on the casual side for service and a bit limited in space so the seating will get filled up quickly. Overall, had a great experience at this Fuwa Fuwa location!

I ordered a slice of original basque cheesecake and it was so good! It was smooth and the berries add nice balance. My friend bought the tiramisu pancake, it was the softest pancake I have ever tasted best pancake in the city. The strawberry matcha drink was also good, it sounds weird at the beginning but the taste really blends well between the green tea and strawberry. All in all, this place is amazing definitely will come back.
