We’re Lamoon cafe which is Thai inspired cafe that serve drinks, sweets, savoury and snacks with the flavours we grew up with back in Thailand with some twists.
AMAZING!!! got a lovely lavender latte and it was perfectly sweet and very lavendery. i also got the chicken curry puffs and they are definitely something i will be getting again and again. the pastry was perfectly crispy and soft inside. the curry could be a bit spicier but its has a delicious warm flavour!
Loved this cafe, it was very cozy and quiet with lots of natural light. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The Pandan coconut cake was amazing and the Thai green tea was excellent as well. Update: I went again and tried the Rose Earl Grey and Vanilla Sky. Both were amazing!!
Perfect, cozy, and delightful dining environment, whether you're stopping by for a cup of coffee or enjoying a full meal. We ordered the uniquely Thai pandan coffee (ใบเตย), and it was surprisingly good. The sparkling drink series was rather ordinary. They also offer a wide range of dishes. It would be even better if their basil pork had a bit more spice and basil flavor. Overall, it's quite good. Worth a try.
Very artsy cafe! Gives out a Bangkok cafe vibe. The meals are good but a little too sweet for my taste. The drinks are good. Excellent portion sizes!
Very cute cafe with a great selection of drinks. Their menu is all very aesthetic and they use a lot of southeast Asian ingredients across all their drinks. Love the heavy use of pandan here. They also have a nice food menu with some tasty and spicy choices. Tom yum fried rice was really flavourful!
We ordered the Tom yum shrimp fried rice, the BBQ pork sandwich, Thai tea brownie, pandan bunny dessert and 3 different drinks. The Tom yum fried rice was so so delicious i came here last week and am still dreaming of it. The sandwich was also sooo good and just as expected. Desserts were yummy. The drinks we had however was not giving what it's supposed to :( all three were like iced milk/water and lacked matcha + strawberry flavor. Im giving this place a 4/5 star because we did come 30 mins before close after all! I will come here next time at an earlier time and try the drinks again :))) Update: I came back a week after at opening hours to give the drinks another try along with the dishes I’ve been craving. I got the iced pandan latte and another caramel drink. Pandan latte was watered down just like the previous drinks I tried. Note: ask for less ice anytime you order a drink.
This is our second time visiting Lamoon. This time we brought furbaby with us. Thankfully they are pet friendly. Initially we planned on staying on their patio and then they offered us to stay inside since it’s already raining. 🥰 The last time we visited, they didn’t have much of the food items, more of dessert and drinks. Thru social media I learned that they are already serving meals. I’m really happy for this. We really love thailand since it’s the last out the country trip we had in 2019 before the COVID lockdown. So we ordered their Thai Shrimp Fried Rice. One bite and you can’t stop taking the next ones. It was really tasty. The shrimps are big and the portion is for sharing. We also tried their Chicken Satay Thai Pizza. It was really really really good! The crust is thin and crispy. The topping is full of cheese, chicken satay and sauce. Imagine a chicken satay dipped in sauce on a pizza! It’s exactly that. The play of different taste in your palate - a little bit of saltiness, sweetness, nutty and umami. It was really good. For me, their serving is good for 2 people. For the drink, I still got their First Kiss. My husband got their Mango Milk, which was really good too. Lastly, their service is topnotch, very considerate, accommodating and everyone has a smile on their face. We will definitely visit again. 😍
Follow @bredgyeats for more food photos! Tom Yum Shrimp Fried Rice - The fried rice was very fragrant, with that complex tom yum flavour throughout each individual grain of rice. Topped with an oozing and creamy egg and tomatoes just made it so juicy and just that much more satisfying. Massaman Beef - The massaman beef was served with rice noodles that soaked up the tangy and rich curry sauce excellently, topped with delicate pieces of beef and another creamy egg. Ube Puffs - Very distinct and aromatic ube filling inside, with a good filling to pastry ratio. The pastry was flaky and buttery, but was a little soft. EDIT: I was totally craving cake today, and this pandan cake slice graciously satisfied my cravings and beyond. Constructed beautifully with a light green hue and evenly built layers that alternate between a fragrant pandan sponge and moderately sweet frosting. I especially loved the coconut strips on top, that add another dimension of creaminess as well as a tender crisp to each bite of airy sponge cake.
They let dogs in
Just so lovely and the best place in the area to go and get a great Thai lunch. The atmosphere is so nice and the space is so bright just a great spot! Definitely recommend:)
The cafe has such a cozy vibe and I love coming here for studying or just reading a book. Staff are always so friendly and cheerful.
A great cozy environment with the best comfort thai food and drinks!
This place is hidden gem!! The ambiance, food, and service is wonderful - so cozy and comforting. The food and drinks are so aesthetic and delicious. Highly recommend
The staff here are very friendly and welcoming, love the atmosphere as well. Drinks and place are beautiful for photos. Recommend the Thai milk tea.
Had the Thai milk tea and the Pandan coffee. Both were fantastic: the milk tea was on the sweeter side, while the Pandan coffee had a more roasted flavour.
Omg what a hidden gem! The vibe was lovely, the staff were friendly, the Thai coffee and pandan coconut cookie were incredible. We sat on the cozy and quiet back patio that you d never know was there! Better yet, the whole place is very accessible. Cannot wait to go back! Kid-friendliness: Welcomed our mom group with ease! Wheelchair accessibility: Side entrance with ramp and automatic door plus a spacious interior and patio
Its such a cute cafe!! They have a lot of Thai flavours and options to choose from. Their drinks are aesthetically cute and taste good too! They have a cute dining area as well! Their pandan cake and mango sticky rice are delicious, would recommend everyone to try them! Things to try: Matcha latte, Latte, Nutella brownie, blondie, pandan cake, mango sticky rice, lychee butterfly (comes in a cute bag!), and lemonade. They have an outdoor seating area, and Lamoon merch.
Super tasty and fun cute spot! Cozy atmosphere with friendly staff! Drinks were really good, food was delicious and dessert was yumm.
Very calm and tiny place in the middle of cabbagetown. The pandan iced coffee was a bit on the sweeter side, but tasted absolutely amazing. The staff are very polite and allow you to work uninterrupted for a good chunk of time. Bathrooms were very very clean, which is so rare these days!!
Torontos Cafes scenes are next level and welcome to a series where I bring you the best cafes Toronto has to offer! If you are new here, Hello and Namaskar, my name is Avani and I bring you the best things Toronto has to offer! So today I got a chance to visit a Thai inspired Cafe located in Downtown Toronto! & trust me when I say this, this place is indeed a hidden gem! This is a family run business and which is why you will sense a feeling of warmth and belonging the minute you enter this place! & this place is dog-friendly too! If only I had a pet! Okay, so the idea was to have a place which is more than a cafe, they wanted to make a place where if you come to work from this cafe you don t have to end up leaving after a coffee and starve yourself on bakery good! Because at La moon they serve home cooked Thai meals!! Like what!! I ordered myself a Pandan Coffee, which was so delicious almost tasted like maple but better, I guess LOL. Next up was the Pineapple Lemonade, holy moly gaucamole! Probably my go to drink!! & as for food I tried their signature dish which Pulled Dry Chicken Noodles! & lemme just say, this reminded me of Thailand!! So so yummy! bomb.commmm!
I had the sticky piggy burger which was essentially meat between two slabs of sticky rice. Cant really pick it up like an actual burger, but was very delicious. I also tried their signature Red Lime Sparkling soda. Extremely tart and extremely refreshing. Not for those weak to sour, but delicious for sure. Staff is also super nice. They might be socializing, which is intimidating, but they will not hesitate to help if you have questions and concerns. Lastly the ambience is great, super chill. Although quite small, the space extends deep and each section is quite distinct, so it doesnt feel like you share the space with too many people while youre there! Potentially great place to read or study :)
My wife and I agree Lamoon have the best coffee and tea drinks in the city. Thai Green tea, Earl Grey rose, Thai coffee, and Thai tea are all perfection. But there are so many other drinks wed recommend. The staff are also incredibly friendly and lovely to speak to. we cant recommend Lamoon enough.
Very cute cafe with absolutely delicious food - worth the stop! Everything looked interesting on the menu..was hard to decide. Took the whole family and everyone loved everything. Bunny shaped mini cakes at the front till were adorable.
Honestly one of my favourite spots in the city. The drinks are amazing, the vibes are lovely, and the patio HITS in the summer. The owners are the sweetest people, and if you re lucky, their corgi makes an appearance :)
A gem on Gerrard East! ..wandered into Lamoon on consecutive days, its a very nice coffee shop to sit in and then theres the back patio which is secluded from traffic and so tranquil.
Beautiful and great Thai coffee shop. The drinks were decent.
Perfect place for a date
Cute cafe with a nice atmosphere. Enjoyed their lychee butterfly and matching Thai tea. Want to go back to try their food options.
Beautiful café! Really stands out in the neighborhood. Charming interior with outdoor tables. The cold drinks are delicious.
The food was way too sweet. Theres a lot of potential but the proportions spices used were off. Also the prices were ridiculous. $22+ before tax for an entree is too much.
Honestly one of my favourite places of all time! The interiors are so cozy, and there s an extensive Thai drink/food menu. My favorite dish on their menu is definitely the yen ta fo it has so many different flavours and textures! Service is also really nice. I would highly recommend coming here for a hangout with friends or for studying.
Delicious food and very friendly staff! I LOVED the rice that is molded in a heart shape!
Such a cute cozy cafe. I came here to work and fully enjoyed my time here. Ordered the lychee espresso (would recommend)!!! The wifi was a bit slow though, so I had to use my hot spot :/
I love love love this place and the staff here so much!!!
The best coffee shop in the area .
Great atmosphere ; great vibe ; they have a cafe menu with great options for snacks s and 1 person meals . It s a bit expensive though. We going cashew chicken little bit sweet ; Thai green curry was good
Employees not good
No good work, hand no making globes
no good work employed
Very creative menu. If rainbow is drinkable this is the place to find it. Their staffs are super duper cute too Recommended dishes
Super cool spot and lovely space! Definitely got the cozy part down to the smallest details! Would recommend Yen Ta Fo and their Puff! The staffs are really friendly and give great suggestions based on our taste! Would visit again! P.s. The patio space is surprisingly quiet and the owner mentioned there is live music once a month I believe
My wife and I visited recently. She had the pandan coffee with oat milk and I had an americano. Both were excellent. The pandan coffee grew on her as she drank it. The staff are kind, and the interior has a really pleasant vibe and decorations, especially on sunny evenings, when sunlight streams in through the windows. It really lights the place up.
Food was delicious, owners are super friendly. The best part was that this place is dog friendly! We were able to bring in our pet and got to enjoy the wonderful meal, even got a treat at the end by the wonderful staff! The iced pandan coffee was also amazing, highly recommend.
Was there with my wife for coffees and had both an iced and a regular lattes with oat milk. Both were really great! My wife is very particular when it comes to coffee and she absolutely loved it. Great service and great atmosphere, too, worthy a stop.
Beautiful Cafe with nice presentation.
Lamoon is such a hidden gem in the neighbourhood. Everything is made with care and the ambiance makes it nice to do work on a quiet weekday morning or gather with friends. In the summers, they have live jazz on their back patio on certain days (check their IG for details). They have so many interesting drinks. My favourite is the pandan coffee or matcha strawberry drink. The baked goods are super tasty and the Thai dishes like tom kha gai soup are authentic and delicious (some dishes like curry and pizza run on the sweet side fyi). The staff are always kind and friendly. The resident dog Kati is often there and so adorable! It is also one of the few places where you can bring your dog (on leash) to sit with you indoors. Definitely one of my favourite east end spots! There is free street parking on First Ave (unlimited) and De Grassi St (1 hour max).
I had the toffee iced coffee and massaman beef. Food here is better than a lot of Thai food I had in Thailand. Staff is so cool and pride themselves on their food and drink. The ambience is great. I hope they expand and open more locations because this is a special place.
We ordered a Two Tone Sandwich and Thai tea. Thai tea was okay but we don t like the Two Tone Sandwich. The shredded pork in the sandwich is not pulled pork but pork floss. Also it was very pricey.
Tried the Iced Thai Green Tea, very tasty and refreshing! Very nice interior, friendly staff. Update: Im addicted to the Strawberry Matcha
Everything is so good, atmosphere, food for lunch. Recommend!
We love this place for its drinks, its atmosphere, and its food. The puffs are delicious, the massaman curry is great on rice, and the boat noodles have a slight acidic kick which makes it addictive. Our go to spot by East Chinatown!
2024 March 4 A nice cozy cafe that serves many things Thai. Drinks, snacks, buffet, soup, pizza. People here also speak Thai. Pandan coffee $7 cold Matcha Thai tea $7 cold Both drinks were very good. Would order again and try other items. Seating for about 20. Street parking available.
It is a charming place, but easy to miss on the busy Gerrard Street East. the place offers a variety of espresso drinks (in hot and cold versions) - with some interesting additions like pandan latte. (Pandan Latte doesnt have coffee in it, but there is pandan coffee with milk which I tried - a very unique and interesting taste!). the food menu is quite impressive too, with some vegetarian options. The place is very spacious - with a back room that can accommodate groups and families (with enough room for strollers). Lovely decorations, with beautiful pot plants. There are books for customers to read while at the cafe, and you can purchase pictures by a local artist, and some other products (scarves, canvas bags). overall a great experience and worth recommending. Wheelchair accessibility: fully accessible.
we went right after our candlelight concert and they were about to close in 15 minutes. we felt really bad but they still made our orders and very friendly and welcoming staffs, thank you for bearing with us and making our drinks. i got the thai tea and it was really good. the atmosphere is really nice and they got good seating space.
We have been seeing this cafe everytime we are in the area to watch Candlelight concert. They actually have a good rating. So last night we decided to try it out. We have visited thailand before the pandemic and I can say that so far Thailand is my favorite Asian country to visit. Their food is just unforgettable and really affordable. Honestly, my favorite was the Thai Milk tea and the Pink Drink. Anyway, this cafe reminded us of our time in Thailand, so we ordered Thai Iced Coffee and Matcha Latte. Their iced coffee was so good, it s full of flavor. Not too strong, not too sweet. The Matcha Latte for me was definitely on point. I have had matcha latte from famous coffee shops but ended up disliking it since they were sweet. But in Lamoon, you can really savour the matcha flavor, it s not sweet at all. We also had some desserts, their blondie was so good, it s a good match for their drinks. We tried some of their cookies, the taro cookie and pandan, it was ok for me, but my husband finished them all. Since we were waiting for the concert to start, we decided to stay at the cafe and ended up buying their First Kiss it was a really nice drink, with 3 layers. Butterfly Pea, Milk and Sala. It was really good and fancy! Nice for pics! We really enjoyed their cozy place! Not to mention, I did t realize that Thai-pop is also nice! I ll start listening to Thai-pop!
There is a little Corgi that you can t stop masturbating at all. It s so cute. It s a treasure shop in Toronto. It s delicious and delicious.
Amazing place with best customer service (see photo)! Try the Thai pizza and the coconut cake!
The staff are sooo friendly. Great coffee and great little place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. I love it here. Haven t tried the food yet!
Really cute cafe! Would be a great place for a smaller group to chat and enjoy drinks Ordered: vanilla sky and mango milky Vanilla sky 5/5 Mango milky 3/5 - not enough mango, just tasted like milk
I love this Thai inspired cafe. They have the best drinks and I tried the BBQ pork sandwich for the first time. It was delicious and soooo cheesy.
First of all.. expensive and not worth the bang for your buck. Would not return. The puffs are $12 for 3 pieces and while pricey... were flakey and flavourful. If you want something similar, FB marketplace ladies are selling them for $2/ piece. Would rather buy again from them in the future than return here. But the biggest reason its only 2 stars.. is that they put 3 orders of mango coconut sticky rice ($15/ order) in a glass jar for my takeout order. Im sure they tried to make it visually appealing.. but they fail to understand basic food biology in that the rice will absorb the moisture in the jar and turn into 1 giant mush ball that God help you try to eat it with their provided plastic cutlery that will break on the first attempt to hack at what is arguably supposed to be one of the best desserts on the planet. So disappointed.
Update (Dec. 2022): Since my first review, Lamoon (previously known as Namwan) has become one of my safe places. The drinks and foods continue to impress. The team has expanded. The staff have become friends. If you are looking for a great place to relax with delicious Thai inspired dishes, Lamoon is your place. See you there! Original: A definite gem in the area! Superb friendly service. This is my first time a store owner introduced herself and shared her story about the café at a visit. It really shows that she cares and tries to create a community. Ive tried 2 cold drinks and a food item on the main menu so far. Both are delicious and handled with care. Ill definitely go back.
The Thai milk tea is fantastic hot or cold
Delicious food and drinks!
A very cute Asian cafe. The Pandan and Nutella mochi brownie was a bit sweet for my taste, but I enjoyed the Pandan latte.
Great food, ambience, and staff!
This might be my all-time favourite restaurant. And now that I have found their Thai-inspired croissant, I seem to be returning weekly. Thai-inspired is the way to describe this place because of the slight twist that they put on things. You must come!
I love Lamoon so much! Very cute comfortable space, warm and friendly staff, and really inventive takes on familiar dishes. I have tried their Massaman Curry, their Larb Burger (which is such a welcome, pleasant flavour combination!) and their Basil Pork with Rice. I saw some people before saying its inauthentic and Im not Thai, so I cant speak to that, but I will say that Lamoons unique approach to combining unexpected flavors was the thing that sold me. I love the idea that some of the more traditional recipes could be turned into spaghetti! Some of the tea lattes are made with additional condensed milk and I really like them! Highly recommend!
Really good spot. Vegetarian options: Lots of options. Food : 4/5 |
The foods good but the tea is so much better
PANDAN COCONUT CAKE WAS PUNGENT. LITERALLY BLUE CHEESE SCENT BC IT WAS ROTTING. DISGUSTING.
We ve been many times. Menu is quite original. Cute spot for a daytime date or with friends. Some food plates are good others are not. I d suggest having the waffle sandwich, buttery and yummy. For the teas, go with the classic: Thai tea. If you want them more sweet they have plenty of options.
Awesome place to get some work done, good wifi, outlets, and amazing food.
I had never tried Thai coffee until this day, nor had I had Pandan cake; they were both delicious. The ladies that worked there were very kind and helped me decide what I should try. Im looking forward to visiting again.
Dairy free options and very nice people
Love this cafe!! The desserts and drinks are so good and really pretty. The pizza and bowls were great too!
Beautiful atmosphere and food tasted amazing! Great place to hang out with your friends
Very cute coffee shop
Great drinks! Very nice atmosphere.
Deeelicious burgers, soup and pandan coffee! Lovely people! Can t wait to go back and try the other dishes!
Recommended
This is my new fav cafe in the east end. All the things we tried were incredible. I was a little skeptical of the green curry pizza but it blew my mind. The two tone sandwich was great as well. We ended the meal with lychee and rose sparkling water... just the perfect amount of favouring served in these cute cups. So impressed! Highly recommend. The service is fantastic as well.
Good quality, low price and economical
Such a beautiful and nice place.
The best place ever!!
Been here twice and they have very nice and authentic thai snacks and food. The staff are really kind and friendly. I got free pia cakes today too! Thank you!
Great little spot to study or chill and have a cool Thai inspired drink! I like the ideas they have from this place and they sell their Thai teas too! This time I had the pandan coffee, quite interesting, the pandan was a really nice touch to it, although I find it was unfortunately a bit overpowered by the coffee. I would definitely come back to try more of their drinks and food!
The food and desserts are very delicious. The shop is cute. The drinks are cute. I really like it.
Nothing brings me happy like good food, drinks and Kati!! During the summer their back patio is so nice too. My favorite is pandan latte with extra shot, It s so goodddddd*10
Actually one of my most memorable restaurant meals. I mean, how about that blue rice, for starters? In terms of portions, I would have wanted at least one more spoonful of the massaman beef, but that s because I love protein and am a bottomless pit. Otherwise, I would change nothing. They have friendly staff members, a cute and photogenic restaurant, and yummy food I high-fived myself for choosing to dine in. Had their Lychee Butterfly and First Kiss drinks at a food festival, and that s how I got introduced to their restaurant. I ve liked everything I ve had from them so far, and I will not ever forget my massaman beef order. Going back if I m in the area again.
The place is very cozy, I appreciate the friendly service, and the food is incredible and has amazing color, definetly I will return for more Thai cousini :)
One of my favourite cafes in Toronto (east end). Love their fusion of flavours. Their sweet drinks are all amazing and creative and actually delicious! They have meals and snacks are so good - you gotta check them out!
Amazing food & drinks, everything was really tasty. Great service and the ambiance is perfect for lunch with friends/family. I definitely recommend it.
Service is fast and courteous, and the interior is cozy. It is small, so it may be best for takeout or a short stay. I got the Tom yum rice, which was quite flavourful and tangy, but the shrimp were overcooked and a bit dry. Even so, I would probably get it again just for the rice. Next time I would like to try the vegetarian options. Drinks are really nice and theres decent variety, I would recommend those.
This place honestly blew my expectations out of the water. The food was extremely good and they had a perfectly sized menu with a good selection and variety. Both their drink and their food menu seemed like they had no bad options. The owner and management of this place cleary put time and care into selecting their menu items with the intention of making it an inviting/chill but equally as professional cuisine. The employees (and I presume owner/manager?) were jumping at every opportunity to help with our experience and make sure we were taken care of. This is a really special spot and I highly recommend anyone to come here for a casual lunch with a friend. I will be returning in the future. (Also all of the pastries we tried were unreal. Do not go here without trying them :])
The best Thai cafe in all of Toronto. Lamoon has a warm and cute vibe! The sticky piggy burger is exquisite with complex textures and flavours. I also had a Massaman curry, with the (very beautiful) drink First Kiss. Highly recommend everyone to come here if you re in China Town east! Recommended dishes
Very cute cafe! Cheery quick customer service, had a beautifully crafted drink in my hand within minutes of ordering. Would definitely drop by here again if Im in the area
Coconut cake I want to eat it again :) So sweet and good
Every single time Im here, Im met with lots of smiles and positive energy! The servers and batistas are clearly so happy to be working there and I love seeing that :) I come here for the Coffee Toffee drink quite often. They make their toffee in-house and the drink itself is not too sweet, which I appreciate. Their little mungbean bites, pandan cake, mango sticky rice, sticky rice piggy burger and their basil egg toast are what I tried so far and everything gets a 10/10. The interior of the restaurant is also well thought out - I always feel like Im not in Toronto when I visit. I cant wait to explore more of the menu!
Cute little cafe with yummy food
Fantastic little shop with genuine Thai sandwiches, bowls, baked goods, drinks and more! We had an amazing dinner here tonight! Thai soups,, pizza and curry... just fantastic.
Delicious food and drinks, great interior, and very friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back here! Dietary restrictions: Dairy free options
My favourite cafe in Riverdale. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the drinks and food are great. Love the Thai vibes and theres a patio in the back
My wife and I had dinner date at Lamoon Thai Cafe, in the heart of mini China Town, to find one of the most authentic spots weve been to in the GTA. The décor was reminiscent of many Thai cafes that we had been to in Thailand and the service was spot on. We ordered the massaman curry and chicken cashew as our entrees and were cooked perfectly, super flavorful!
Its a Thai cafe. You can have food as well here. Staff is amazing, polite and positive. Love the ambience and food there :) little on expensive side.
Loved it here! The staff were so hospitable, the drinks were phenomenal, and the ambiance was so cozy! Lamoon is definitely an underrated cafe, and honestly a wonderful gem in the neighbourhood. They have a good amount of seating for the space, and everything in the cafe is very well curated to make you feel cozy. Definitely coming back for more lazy afternoons :)
Very cute cafe! Unique drinks with non dairy milk options. Taro puffs and purple yam puffs are vegan!
Best mango sticky rice in the city
Tasty sandwiches and snacks. Im looking forward to trying the curry puffs on our next visit. We had take-out, but it looks like they have a nice seating area at the back.
perfect place for Saturday afternoon chill
I tried the tom yum shrimp fried rice after my 13k run. This place had great interior design and a nice patio at the back. Service was friendly and thoughtful. Food exceeded my expectation -- a little pricy, but justified by the quality of the ingredients (you would know what I am saying the second your taste buds contact the tomato on the rice). It is a real gem.
Cool little cafe with great atmosphere
A very cute cafe with nice ambiance. I got the Thai milk tea to try and loved it. Will be back to try the food. I loved the efficiency of the service as quick as it should be. Food : 5/5
Finest Thai cafe
Came here to meet some friends and it was the perfect spot! I got the sweet Thai iced tea and it was good, but a bit too sweet for me (might need to ask for less sweetener next time!) I also tried a bite of the curry puffs and it was sooo good. Very cute glassware and nicely presented food. Decent amount of seating and tables dispersed around the cafe. Clean washrooms! There s a back patio but it was closed when we were there because of the rain. There s also a self-serve water station near the back of the cafe. Will definitely go back and try more things on the menu!!!
very yummmm
very cute cafe, theres seating in the front, back and theres a back patio. cutely decorated supa aesthetic. yummy drinks a little sweet but good nonetheless
The drinks here ARE AMAZING!!! I love the Thai inspired fruity drinks. The restaurant serves not only drinks but baked goods and savoury dishes such as curry rice bowls. The decor of the LaMoon reminds me so much of those cafes I ve been to in Japan, very kawaii and welcoming with a lot of bright colours. They also sell merch such as tote bags, canvas bags and scarfs. I ll definitely be back to try the other menu items. Everything looks SO GOOD!! Staff here is also very friendly. FYI - They take credit cards here.
This is a gem that I found. Nice place with great atmosphere and service. Theres a lovely patio in the back too. Ive tried one of theirs specialties the Milky Mango and it was delicious. They also have an variety of food that Ill definitely go back to try.
I had a delicious first kiss, I even knew it as possible at my age ;) and it was delicious.
love this Cafe! workers are the sweetest drinks are a bit on the pricey side but the atmosphere is wonderful. great place to meet up with a friend
Pandan coffee is really nice. Good Ambience for working as well. Nice service :-)
Great little cafe with wonderful food! The staff at this cafe are great! I would highly recommend the pizzas!
I had assorted puffs and the tom yum fried rice. Loved all of it.
Cute little cafe with Thai & southeast Asian flavours like pandan & basil. It offers both snacks and drinks as well as a few popular Thai staples like boat noodles, massaging curry, etc. Both the pandan latte (hot) and pandan and strawberry jam cake had a nice pandan flavour.
I recently discovered a hidden cafe located in the east side of Toronto that offers a variety of interesting beverage combinations. I tried their Lychee-presso during my visit, which tasted okay but didnt have a noticeable lychee or coffee flavor. Nonetheless, I appreciate the fact that the drink wasnt excessively sweet. As for the food, I was impressed by the chicken curry puffs, which had a great balance of flavors despite my general dislike for curry. The dish had a subtle sweetness without being overpowering or grassy . The Turkey & Cheese Croissant Waffle Sandwich I ordered also had a pleasant flavour, while the BBQ Pork Sandwich was particularly delicious and generously portioned. Im looking forward to returning to try more of their menu offerings.
Great location in the middle of Chinatown. Beautiful interior decoration and design. This would be a great place to grab a quick drink and have a nice chat with some good friends. Their food menu are unique and they seem to put a lot of effort into creating something different for Toronto. Very interesting place.
Bad customer service. Rude staff! Too expensive! You can t bring outside food or you ll get blasted by staff! I had a container with my leftover bbq food. The waitress quickly told me, no outside food allowed! She didn t even let me explain to her that my outside food is just leftover food and I wasn t going to eat it at her facility. I just came over to her facility to join my friends who were having their refreshments there. Before you assume that I m bringing outside food please take the time to find out the truth lady! Your policy is stupid! Anyway I wouldn t eat any of your fake-coloured food and waiste my money
The food was so good but the owner was rude. We ve been visiting this place for a long time and this is the first time we dine in and met owner however it s so disappointing because after we ate she made us clean up our utensils and plates. We didn t know after giving a tip your the one who s going to clean up.
We had dinner on a Friday night and although the food was not bad, the service was very poor for the following reasons: - the owner was very pushy on us to finish 10 minutes before they close, although we were on track to finish dinner by closing time - the owner asked us to clear up the table and place the plates and the glasses on a certain area, even though their staff members are not doing anything - unlike in previous times when we would order desert to-go 15 minutes before closing, the owner refused to take our order 30 before this time around, saying that the kitchen had already closed - the owner never smiled nor thanked us during our entire stay, but instead kept an angry face during our time Unfortunately, the service level had dramatically become worse recently.
So much to explore, coffee, pandan drinks and sweets and also food. We ordered coffee and sweets only and they were indeed delicious. Great service and quality.
Super cute hidden gem in this iconic neighborhood! Highly recommend for some good coffee, food and good vibes
Love the patio, friendly service an excellent coffee
Have yet to try food but this place is a wonderful local cafe and eatery. Im looking forward to the menu though they do close often at 4pm. The seating and patio is awesome.
Must get the mango sticky rice!!
Very intimate and cozy. A very cute Thai cafe. Very yummy cute drinks and foods!
Good food, friendly service and amazing drinks! Perfect for when you can t decide where to eat next or if you just want a refreshing & tasty meal with a calm ambience. The Massaman beef curry with rice noodles was delicious! I just find the potato s to be too hard for my liking. I also ordered the Basil pork fried rice and the flavour was fantastic, but probably too spicy if you have a sensitive stomach lol! I will be returning though!
Drinks and food are top notch!!! Such a cozy place to hangout and do work! I had the pandan iced coffee and green thai curry- both are hard to top anywhere else in TO. I was surprised at how good the savoury food options were, will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
A quiet, and a nice place !
The pizza had lots of sodium and the staff was rude
The cutest cafe! Love the options for snacks and drinks. Ordered an oat milk Milo milk and two taro/one purple yam puff pastry. Also ordered the matcha jam bunny shaped cake. So mouthwatering and delicious. Cannot wait to revisit this spot!
The Atmosphere is great and I really like Thai ice tea. I looking forward to come back and try more menu.
Really delicious Thai iced tea. I ve tried some of their dishes as well and they were quite tasty!
Happened to walk by while looking for a coffee shop to sit and type in for a while. Very cozy, with plants and books and fairy lights, and friendly helpful staff! I had a thai coffee, an iced pandan coffee, and the grilled cheese, which is blue from butterfly peaflower-infused mozzarella: all were delicious. (But I confirmed that blue savouries give me the willies. ) Plus they have different goodies by local artists for sale, so bonus points there.
2023.19.19 Order and pay at the counter; grab one of the limited number of tables and they deliver your foods to your table. Beautiful food presentation. Although on the salty side, the Panang Curry Pizza has the authentic flavor. However, the thin crust pizza dough needs a major work. The outer edges crust is solid hard more like very old dried-up cookies and is very hard to chew. The middle part is a combination of soggy and crispy texture and is very hard to cut even with a knife. Pulling it hard with hands to tear it apart is the only way. Unfortunately, the toppings easily fall off from the dough since they are wet curry. Eating this tough dough pizza is a challenge since either cutting, tearing or chewing will end up with messy toppings all over the table. Also, the salty taste becomes overwhelming after several bites. If keeping the salt content as it is, plain steamed rice would probably a better choice to balance the saltiness. The Iced Matcha Thai Tea looks pretty. After being stirred and mixed, it turns into a greenish milk tea. However, the matcha and Thai tea flavors seem to cancel each other and taste like regular milk tea. The distinctive match and Thai tea flavors are unnoticeable. 2023.10.07 Sticky Piggy Burger looks like a burger. It could be eaten like a regular burger with your hands and tastes like marinated pork patty and sticky rice. However, the sauce which comes with it is in runny liquid form. Since we only get a tiny cup of the sauce, if we don t want to waste the sauce, the only way to apply the sauce to the burger is by cutting it into bite size portions and dipping it into the sauce in the tiny cup. Tom-yum Shrimp Fried Rice includes 5 large shrimps. It bursts with Tom-yum flavor and it s not spicy as long as you don t eat the fried red chilli. The tomato slices give a fresh taste to the rices bold flavor.
The pandan cake was DIVINE and topped with fresh shaved coconut no less. What a neighborhood gem
Ordered a lychee drink for my first time. It was delightful!
Genuinely excellent food with a wonderful space (and, if youre lucky, sometimes a corgi!). The people who run this shop are friendly, welcoming, and very on-the-ball. The basil pork is incredible great flavour with some heat, gorgeous rice, and that egg is always perfectly cooked. If you dont know what to order, just get that it wont disappoint. Dont skip on their dairy-free espresso drinks; I find the caffeine in most drinks here is more sweet than strong, but drinks like the cocospresso are a refreshing change of pace!
East end cafes hit different. The cafe is small but definitely a good place to meet a friend or two for a catch up. The mango sticky rice is a beautiful sight and taste really good. I tried their Thai style croissant, a good bite size snack to pair with any of their drink (I paired with matcha Thai tea). The staff was also pretty cool and caual. We need more cafes like this in the city. [Swadeeka means hello in Thai] as a board says by counter, which reflects the hospitality of this cafe.
Prices so high.
The bus
Love trying new East End spots and this one has been on my list for way too long and did not disappoint! I ordered the Vegetable Green Curry for takeout and it was delicious! I will definitely be back!! Cutest presentation, too!
2023-12-01. Our first impression was very negative. it was our first visit there. we came in a wonderful mood after a beautiful concert of 2Cellos at the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto. they took our order and received our payment with a smile (and with tips!) and then (afterwards!) announced to us that they were closing in 10 minutes. we were too elated and nice and didnt cancel our order right there and then. we ate in a hurry and tumbled out because one of them silently started sweeping the floor towards us. we felt so wonderful after the concert, but, man, what a rude awakening they did to us as they dipped us into the squalor and cheating of the disgusting impersonal business world. Were never coming back. P.S.: Judging from a similar comment of 3 months ago, this place is not doing anything to improve their service, no matter what they say in their replies.
They have great selection of special lattes and pastries Their food might not be the best as it is only a small cafe but their service is excellent. Highlight : Great for moms hang out!
This cozy café is just the best place to hang out. The drinks are really unique, tasty, and make you feel warm and relaxed. We sat closer to the windows, and it felt like a familiar place we ve known for years. The service is beyond amazing. They seem to have really tasty food, which we smelled, and might come back for soon. They allow dogs, and it made our experience even better getting to hang out with cute, furry friends. Will come back!
Literally my favorite place in all of Toronto!!! To call it a cafe is an understatement - it feels like home. It is filled with the most loving and positive vibes radiating from all the AMAZING angels who work there. Honestly just sitting there you feel like youre floating on a cloud. I cant rave enough about the food and drinks. Everything tastes and feels like a big warm hug that you never want to end. The flavours are so well balanced and the ingredients so fresh. They have so many options - something for everyone. The decor is so cute and theyve chosen really nice warm tones and lighting that makes you feel so relaxed. Everyone Ive taken there immediately loves it. Im so sad I only recently discovered it and am moving away, but whenever Im back for a visit I will take it as an excuse to work through their whole menu. I always leave with a full stomach and a full heart. I dont personally know any of the staff but they always feel like family. Thank you Lamoon P.S. my friend who is a big Thai cuisine fan prefers this over the Michelin rated Thai restaurants in the city.
The coziest café you can find in the east end! You enter to a breeze of warm air, and the warmth extends throughout the café and even to the team working there. A wonderful selection of creative drinks and treats, served by kind and helpful staff. An excellent place to get some creative work done.
Great ambience. Place is relaxing and also student friendly.
A very friendly cafe with a lovely atmosphere. The drinks are very pretty and theres a wide variety of food and desserts. They also sell bags, tea leaves, and other cute things. It is dog friendly.
A very relaxing environment to enjoy the special meal. Integrating Green Curry into Pizza. It s surprisingly tasty! It is my first time to try this amazing combination. Will definitely come back to have this again and again. Bonus: pandan latte. Super strong pandan scent. It s so refreshing! 5/5 experience!!
Cute place to go Their drinks are amazing, price a bit higher comparing to other boba or coffee shop, but the taste worths the price Service supper nice! I miss their mango sticky rice already, really authentic! Will come back very soon
This place had a very new, clean, and relaxed atmosphere. The vibes were really chill. I had the Massaman Beef which was packed with many different strange flavours which ended up working very well together. I think my favourite part was the blue rice (since I d never had it before). If you end up going, get a table in the back patio - it s very peaceful back there and a perfect place chow down on some delicious Thai food.
Wow. Wow! WOW! Had ordered takeout and it was phenomenal. Everything is so flavourful. The Massaman Beef, Basil Pork Pizza, Curry Chicken Puffs, all the noodle soups stand out. Ill be a regular because this is some of the most flavourful, innovative and yummy Thai Ive had. Cant wait to work my way through the menu.
Hidden gem! You might assume it s just a cafe with some drinks/snacks but the food is amazing - especially the green curry and massaman beef bowl.
Pandan latte was my fav. I forgot what I ordered but it tasted really good!
Prices are higher than most cafés here, but its not every day that you see a Thai cafe - with such cute and tasteful interior, no less! They have a lot of unique Thai-inspired beverages and desserts as well. I got the Thai lime milk tea and the First Kiss, which is Thai milk tea with butterfly pea (giving it its blue hue) and a Thai fruit syrup. Both drinks were tasty, though nothing too amazing as Im familiar with Thai milk tea. The real winner for me was the piggy burger. The glutinous rice was a little hard, but I loved the pork filling and everything went so well with the sweet chilli sauce! It almost felt like a savory dessert. I wish I could try more items on the menu but alas, its too far from where I live. Overall, its worth a visit if youre in the area.
Discreet Thai cafe near east Chinatown, where drinks and food are made fresh to order. They carry traditional Thai food fare and some items are a twist. Recommend to get their Thai inspired Chicken Satay pizza. Food is flavorful. Ambiance is warm and welcoming.
One of the top Thai restaurants in Toronto! It is family owned and they are all so friendly. You might even get a chance to see their adorable corgi! You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. I especially liked the Pandan coconut cake! I ordered a whole cake for take out and all my friends were asking about it.
Such good quality and taste ! Totally in love with this Thai place!!! Service is great so friendly and fast ! Beautiful Atmosphere
good taste but it still has a lot room to improve ..
cute cafe and been here a couple times, decided to come back and try the food. the mamasan curry was very sugary and the potatoes were very hard / raw. the jasmine tea with vanilla syrup just tasted like sweetened milk. the place is very cute and aesthetic but I probably wont make the trip to get the drinks and food. the Thai tea cookie also has faint Thai tea flavor. very cute place for vibes and some snacks but otherwise not a foodie favorite
Really cool locally owned family spot. Awesome menu with a lot of food and drink options you can t find anywhere else.
Drinks: First Kiss: 1/5 tasted like childrens strawberry/milky cough syrup Lychee Butterfly: 1/5 very sour and just odd flavor Coconut thai soup: 1/5 omg so so sweet, just ruined the whole dish. Masaman beef curry: 1/5 it was soo sweet, the beef was super dry, the potatoes were really undercooked, and the dish was slightly warm only as if they just reheated it. Yen Ta Fo: 2/5 sweet and sour notes were overwhelming, didnt taste too yummy, and small portion for the price. Tom Yum fried rice: 2.5/5 very sour taste, spice level was good, rice was freshly cooked, and generous portion of rice and jumbo shrimps. Overall, I do NOT recommend coming here to eat. We were going to buy dessert as well but after the weird food and drinks we were a little traumatized.
Loved the interior design, decor, and atmosphere of this restaurant! Theres a decent amount of space - a few small tables, some chairs with coffee tables and a higher barstool area. The presentation of the food was great and the portions were generous. The green curry chicken spaghetti was creamy, slightly sweet, had a light spice, and so flavourful - the curry coated the noodles very well and there was a good amount of chicken and vegetables. The basil pork rice was saucy and the basil was fried and crispy. Loved that half the rice was butterfly pea rice. Definitely coming back to try other items and some of the baked goods.
A bit pricy, but well worth it. The drinks not only looks good but they taste good also. The food and pastries are tasty. And the decor is cute and give a sense of warmth. Very friendly service. Overall, a very good cafe
Got the mango and taro yam drink! It s pretty good. Really spacious cafe with lots of seatings. They don t offer their drinks in bags here (only at the night markets).
The Thai coffee was just right.
I had never had a Thai Tea or Thai inspired coffee before. Both delicious!
The cutest little cafe with delicious iced Chai tea, and some of the best Thai food Ive ever had. The cookies were really good too! Will definitely be returning.
My go-to for their fresh tasting Pandan Coffee! They have a beautiful hidden patio in the summertime that is enclosed by the adjacent church. I thought this was a place for just really good Thai milk teas when it first opened, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The selection of dishes are unique in comparison to most Thai places in Toronto with their café approach. You can get things quite spicy on request. Meal portions are good but a tad bit pricey for everything. However, for the experience of sitting here, the price is worth the atmosphere.
I love this cafe! Their matcha brownie is amazing! So is their coffee and tea!
I love this little East Chinatown Thai cafe. Very cute space, friendly staff, good prices.
I had a delicious flat white and Tom Kha soup here today. Nice and relaxing atmosphere. Will be back again soon!
