I had high hopes for Canoe as a fine dining establishment, but my experience was nothing short of a disappointment. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend, expecting a memorable evening, but it was the opposite. The only positive aspect of our meal was the wine—it had a fantastic selection. Unfortunately, everything else fell flat. Ambiance and Seating: The seating arrangement was incredibly crowded. We were so close to the next table that I could overhear their entire conversation. Fine dining should provide guests with privacy and space, but this setup made the experience feel cramped and uncomfortable. Service: The service was another letdown. Our waiter repeatedly touched my boyfriend every time he passed by, which made him extremely uncomfortable. This level of behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable in any setting, let alone at a restaurant of this caliber. The Food: This was the most disappointing part of the evening. My boyfriend ordered the rack of lamb, and it arrived as two pieces of nearly raw meat. The lamb was tasteless with seasoning coated, and accompanied by some green leaves. The waiter didn’t even bother to ask how we wanted it cooked. I had the salmon and prawn farci. While the salmon was slightly overcooked but edible, the "prawn farci" was unrecognizable—it came as a rectangular crab cake with an overpowering fishy smell. I couldn’t even finish it. The "pommes frites" were the most underwhelming dish. With such a fancy name, I expected hand-cut, restaurant-quality fries. Instead, they served what tasted like store-bought fries—similar to McDonald’s—alongside a basic mayo sauce. It was a complete letdown. For dessert, my black forest cake was decent, but my boyfriend’s “Screeched tarte au sucre” was overly sweet and nearly inedible. He couldn’t finish half of it. Value: For a $350 bill for two, I expected so much more. The food was mediocre at best, and the overall experience didn’t justify the hefty price tag. I appreciate the wine list and the presentation of the dishes, but I would rather go back to Chop Steakhouse, where the quality of food and service is far superior for the price. I won’t be returning to Canoe, nor would I recommend it to anyone I know. This was an expensive lesson in expectations versus reality.

Canoe delivered one of the most extraordinary dining experiences of my life. From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely impeccable. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring every moment of the meal felt special. Over the course of three hours, a team of about 10-12 staff members carefully explained each dish, checked in on us regularly, and made us feel completely cared for. The tasting menu was nothing short of spectacular. The standouts for me included the smoked oyster with venison—a perfect balance of rich, smoky, and tart flavors—the chicken wing dish, which was a delightful mix of creativity and comfort, the veal with sweetbreads and shank tatin, and the preserved pine dessert, which was one of the most unique and refreshing desserts I’ve ever had. The sommelier helped us select a single bottle of wine that perfectly complemented the entire meal, making the experience even more memorable. It’s honestly a shame that Canoe doesn’t have a Michelin star. While stars aren’t everything, the level of craftsmanship, creativity, and service absolutely deserves that recognition. This wasn’t just a meal—it was an event, a celebration, and an unforgettable memory. I can’t recommend Canoe highly enough to anyone looking for a truly extraordinary dining experience. Worth every moment and every penny.

This is a restaurant where the main selling point is the view and the decor. Located on the 54th floor, you get a stunning view of Toronto. You see the TD tower and the CN tower clearly. The view gets even better after dark. This makes it a great place for business functions and if you are looking to impress guests. The service was also great. Staff was polite, attentive, and took the time to explain each dish. The food is pretty good. I had better elsewhere, and it is extremely expensive. Not just the price itself, but they give you a much smaller portion than you might expect. Overall it was a good experience if you know what to expect. Being a big eater, I had to get Chick-fil-A after to feel satiated.

Amazing! Amazing views from the 54th floor of the TD building with panoramic views over the Toronto waterfront. We picked a sunny day during sunset, but this was a bonus! The seasonal menu of local produce was concise but offered a delight for most - all, I would suggest! All our dishes were well prepared, presented and, most importantly tasted sublime. Staff were spot on, knowledgeable & welcoming. Highly recommended from these happy diners!

I had my wedding reception dinner here for 30 guests in the private rooms (east and west room). Staff was extremely helpful, courteous and thoughtful (Amanda, the head server, would bring a straw to me for my drinks on her own accord to preserve my lipstick - thanks!). Everything was executed professionally with care and professionalism. Food was delicious. Planning process was easy and clear communication provided - I was actually impressed staff would remember instructions I had provided during the planning process with the event coordinator which means everyone is communicating behind-the-scenes on what my expectations were and ensured they were met. I highly recommend Canoe for any event! Thank you everyone, really made my wedding day special.

Great view, good food. Only downside is having a prix fixed menu doesn’t allow you to order anything else off the main menu. We tried to spend more money by ordering a few appetizers and entrées from the primary dinner menu, we were told we weren’t allowed and had to stick to the prefix menu. Still a great dinner with good service and an excellent view overall.

My husband planned a wonderful surprise for our 25th anniversary by taking us to Canoe. The dining experience there is truly exceptional, with a great atmosphere and fantastic vibes. The breathtaking view of the Toronto skyline from the 54th floor was absolutely stunning and remarkable. The customer service was top-notch, with knowledgeable, attentive staff who were genuinely passionate about the food. The food itself was spectacular, not only in taste but also in beautiful presentation. The wine and bourbon options were equally wonderful, offering a wide range to choose from. As an added bonus, they provide a complimentary parking voucher for the nearby parking garage in the TD tower. The elegant ambiance and meticulous attention to detail at Canoe truly elevate every visit to make it a memorable experience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or enjoy a sophisticated night out in Toronto.

I’m here to share my experience dining in the Canoe restaurant. As my wife has a birthday, I have been booking a table a week ahead. Honestly, it was a long-time idea to visit the restaurant. But I just wanted to make an occasion more appropriate. Alright, about the Atmosphere: the view and interior are 5/5, and the location and vibe are good. Service: 5/5 Yes, the waiter was amiable and kind, always trying to do their job well. Food: 4.5/5. Yeah, it’s just 4.5, and I will tell you why. The food looks excellent, and all elements and textures are high-level, but taste was missing in dishes with protein. Maybe I need to order squab or rabbit for better taste. Dining time: 2 hours Dishes: 3 starters, two mains, two desserts Drinks: 2 cocktails Bill: $390 before tips, and $450 after tips. So yeah, if you consider it in this place, be ready to spend.

I have been to Canoe many times and was really happy with the Christmas lunch menu. Loved the beef Wellington and French onion soup. My friend had the tuna, which was perfect. For desert we shared the white chocolate cheesecake (so good!). The atmosphere was incredible, as always and so was the service.

Everything was exceptional! Perfect Paper Plane cocktails to start. Then the BEST Onion Soup of my life -- served in an actual hollowed out onion, no less! Then impeccable Lamb (something). Followed with Peaches and Cream dessert. All of which I had no idea I was ordering!.... because in a restaurant as wonderful as Canoe, I simply ask the waiter at the beginning to surprise me with every course. They know best! And my waiter last night made exceptional picks for me! (Wish I had caught his name -- if the manager is reading this, he was the waiter for the Fastly group table just behind the hostess desk! Superb service!) Loved every dish. Oh, and the sunset view is stunning, even those working in the kitchen have big windows to the west. Glorious experience all around!

Nice view of Toronto tower as expected. The interior design is very nice as well. But bad point is that it s super noisy, feels like eating in a bistro. Not romantic at all if busy. Food is average, I d say even low for the price (expect minimum 550$ for the tasting menu for 2). Also, it s pretty hard to understand what we re eating because the staff accent is strong. They re nice and helpful tho. That s a positive point. I d recommend you to go a late afternoon for drinks rather than eating there. Parking is free but not easy to find , and you ll have to switch elevators as well which should be better indicated . Overall no regrets but wouldn t recommend either.

I was deeply disappointed with my recent experience at a restaurant I once considered a favourite in Toronto. The quality of the food has dropped to a level I find shocking. The veal prime rib tasted no better than something from a low end supermarket, and the presentation was a far cry from what it used to be. The short rib dish had such an off-putting aroma that I had to send it back immediately. The service also left much to be desired. Our Indian server seemed disinterested and unenthusiastic, making us feel like we were inconveniencing him. Additionally, the support staff struggled with their English and communication. They were unable to explain the type of oysters on the platter and initially served it without the necessary vinaigrette. It took another 10 minutes for them to prepare it, which gave us the impression they were hoping we wouldn t notice missing. After checking recent reviews while we were dining, I realized our experience wasn t an isolated one, many customers have expressed similar concerns over the past few months. It s disappointing to see such a dramatic decline in what was once an excellent dining spot.

I hadn t been here in a long time, and I was dismayed by the food. It s deceptively complex and not very good. Admittedly, it looks nice, but the flavors are mediocre, even unpleasant. The service is downright inadequate. Only the price matches that of the best restaurants. Best avoided, despite the stunning panoramic view, which remains unchanged. Success doesn t always come from making things complicated but sometimes from flawlessly executing simple dishes.

I was invited this week to this restaurant where I had eaten frequently between 2000 and 2010 The kitchen is pretentious and poorly executed - 30 minutes to take the order. Overrated and under delivered. We thought that Canoe would be the place to celebrate a milestone birthday, but what a colossal disappointment. First, a deposit of $100 for a reservation. The decent service could not offset the 45 min wait for food, the stingy portions or the underwhelming taste. At this price point, I expected much better, and there are numerous options in the city. For a great view of the city which is only impressive for about 10 min, you should just book a meal at the CN tower itself instead of staring at it. In my years of eating out, this is one of the worst experiences. This scar will never heal.

I am really disappointed with the quality of the service and the food. We took the tasting menu and it was really expensive for the experience we received. We felt like we were in a cafeteria where there was no relationship with the waiters. The only strong point is the view for the sunset. I only recommend it for a drink. Dont go there for the food.

October 23, 2024

The food and service are not remotely on par with the price. The service is comparable to that of a basic steakhouse at best. Sometimes, the busboy doubles as the waiter, delivering dishes mechanically as if he s repeated the same lines 2,000 times. The staff rotation seems completely random, which detracts from the experience. It feels like the owners are cutting corners when it comes to service quality. The only redeeming factor is the view.

Had a really disappointing experience for a belated birthday and international visit from my sister. We made our order and the server asked if there were any allergies to which I said I had a mollusc allergy which can be severe. The server had no clue what the allergy was which was disappointing in a restaurant of this standard but I went through numerous examples of my allergy. We werent offered and didnt receive any bread which was always included on previous visits. I ordered a soup which was served inside of an onion which was ok but not wow. For the mains I ordered the rabbit saddle and a braised beef dish which I was going to share with my girlfriend. These dishes arrived and were beautifully presented so we started eating. We started on the rabbit dish which had all kinds of obscure and whacky ingredients. The server came by after a few minutes and I asked what one of the items were and the server said it was squid ink pasta. I immediately said so this is exactly the allergy I told you about? - the server looked like a rabbit in headlights and said yes. I then told him I had already eaten some of it - he went and checked with the chef/manager and then confirmed it did have squid ink which was an allergen. We tried to make the best of the situation but it really affected our experience and overall enjoyment of the restaurant and the rest of the food. In the past my allergy has generally taken 30-45 minutes to affect me with a tight throat and extreme stomach pain so even though I wasnt immediately feeling these symptoms I was nervously waiting to see if they would come whilst also trying to continue with the rest of the meal. My girlfriend then had to eat the rest of the rabbit dish (which wasnt particularly good anyway and she was looking forward to sharing the beef) and I had the beef dish which was pretty nice but in all the turbulence couldnt be enjoyed properly. On top of this the restaurant was really cold - I had asked the server if it was possible to reduce the air conditioning because all of the guests had there blazers or jumpers on and it was clear everyone was cold. The server said ok but nothing changed and it wasnt referenced again. My sister and girlfriend only had 1 blazer between them so went back and forth sharing it to warm up and I just had a dress shirt on and was also cold. Its worth mentioning that all of the staff had waistcoats or blazers on so they were probable nice and warm. During all of this drama a manager did come and speak to us and was very apologetic and said she hoped I was ok and that she would comp a round of drinks and remove the rabbit dish from our meal. I didnt want to make a scene but this was the very least that should have been done. The server at no point apologised or really showed much concern for the blunder. Having worked in the industry for over 15 years I expected much, much more from my experience in a michelin restaurant. Even with the discounts given for this experience the bill was still close to $400 when all was said and done. I have long seen Canoe as the pinnacle in dining and have on many occasions recommended the restaurant to my guests when they have asked for suggestions of other restaurants but I couldnt in good faith do that moving forward. Very disappointing.

I visited your restaurant yesterday, and as a food influencer active in Toronto, I have to be honest I was quite disappointed. I initially made a reservation for 7 PM by the window, but then I was told it would be difficult to get a window seat at that time. So, I changed my reservation to 5 PM. When I arrived, the blinds were down until almost 8 PM, and we couldn t see any of the views. I understand it might be because of the sunset, but if you re going to keep the blinds down for two hours, what s the point of coming to this restaurant? You need to rethink this from a management perspective. The two guys explaining the dishes had such poor pronunciation that I couldn t understand a word they were saying. Seriously, you should listen to them yourselves! I was shocked that you have people with such bad pronunciation explaining the food in a fine dining setting. Another thing that was baffling: we hadn t even finished our main courses, but the dessert was brought out early. Who serves a course meal like that? Rushing us through the experience and bringing plates before we ve finished what kind of service is that? I spent about 500 CAD, and I don t think this level of service is acceptable. I hope the manager takes this seriously, re-trains the staff, and rethinks how to run the restaurant.

Im from out of town and came here as part of my tourist experience. In terms of what is offered as an experience, there is nothing like this where I am from, so the ticket price is inconsequential to me. I opted in for a tasting with premium wine pairings while my friend had the tasting with the regular wine pairings. As a developing student of wine, the regular wine pairing is incredibly sound and intelligent while the premium experience feels a little bit nerdier and a smidge ostentatious - but thats exactly what I would expect. The pairings were strong overall for both experiences and my only point of contention was that I felt that the lamb, as a dish in its entirety, was too lean to play nicely with the tanins on the brunello - still, its not very often that I get to sip a brunello, so I was thrilled for the opportunity. Our server was great. She allowed us to order the tartare in addition to our tasting menu and caught the vibe that Im just a regular guy. All the points of service were hit nicely and both her crumbing and mise were quick and unobtrusive. Afterwards, she made some nice recommendations for cocktail bars as well, tactfully steering us away from touristy haunts towards trendier options. In short, she was as professional as she was just plain cool. I only had one cocktail and it was a Penicillin. It was on point. The tasting menu is cool, the build up is phenomenal. The scallop was one of my favorite dishes from my time spent in Toronto as a whole. The denouement after the lamb was also impressive, the strawberry and the petit fours will stay with me for quite some time. Once again, I will mention that the lamb was less optimal for me and felt surrounded by far more noteworthy dishes on either side. Overall, I had a great time. Thanks for having me.

It was my first experience at this place and I must say the city views at night from this 54th floor restaurant is simply amazing. The food and was average if I compare to other high end restaurants in TO in the similar price range where I have experienced before but the ambience here with the TO city views is spectacular for sure and thats what I guess people are paying for. Overall it was a great experience and the service is good!

Stunning view of the CN Tower, downtown Toronto, and the lake. The main course and starters were very good. The attention to detail in both taste and presentation was very good. However, my experience wasn t good because of the service. Unfortunately, the server displayed an arrogant demeanor that detracted from the overall enjoyment of the evening. For instance, when I asked for recommendations, the server seemed uninterested, which made me feel uncomfortable. Instead of engaging in a friendly conversation about the menu, their responses were curt and lacked enthusiasm. Additionally, when I had a question about a specific dishs ingredients due to dietary restrictions, the server appeared impatient and did not take the time to listen carefully. This lack of attentiveness created a negative atmosphere

Restaurant, service and atmosphere was great. Views are incredible and nice vibe. Restaurant had a nice table set and personalized for us which was a nice touch. Food was very delicious but only complaint was portions and size were very underwhelming. We ordered the ravioli as an appetizer and were surprised to receive only a single lonely ravioli. We ordered drinks, apps and main courses and still left hungry after.

Views incredible, food great, service good, wine was sorely lacking. We had the premium pairing and the sommelier didn t describe the wines really at all and when asked to replace the dessert wine they told me to pick one from the pairings (of which we previously had). The wine was majorly disappointing. From what we could tell there was little differentiation between the premium and standard pairing. The meal was overall good but a little polishing of the service and an overhaul of the wine pairings would elevate this restaurant. The bar is absolutely phenomenal though. Amazing cocktails and all of the elegance and views too.

Apart from the 10/10 view and the 10/10 service we were provided, the food is a huge disappointment. Extremely overpriced for the size of meals, they were fine dining sizes, but the overall dining experience did not cater to a well rounded and complete meal - it left me extremely hungry, even though we had a shareable (oysters), entrees, desserts and drinks. Doubt I would return, as it left an extremely bad aftertaste towards the food. However the service and the atmosphere are truly second to none - maybe that s what you re paying for.

What an utter disappointment at Canoe last night! Guests from out of town treated US to dinner and we chose Canoe for what we had come to understand as a great Toronto experience. Things started out badly when the server tried to guilt me out for not getting an appetizer. Then when I was mulling over the limited menu, suggested what would be one of several time to get the short ribs - which also happened to be the most expensive item on the menu (aside from the tasting). My husband and I shared the onion soup which was unremarkable and appeared in an onion sitting on some weird grass in a bowl. Then we both ordered the rabbit saddle. Quite simply, it was disgusting. It had a few components to the dish, all cold. The squid ink pasta wrapped around the rabbit sausage was inedible. The spinach wrapped shoulder tasted like it had been frozen and not cooked properly. I dont even know what the black salty blob was on the plate. When the server came over to inquire how the meal was, I told him I couldnt eat it. He suggested, again, the short ribs. At this point, I wasnt hungry at all. My husband didnt finish his meal. The third diner in our party had explained she wanted the tartar as her main. The server stated it was an appetizer, which she understood and didnt need to be told. The fourth diner was tolerating all of this with his cold pork chop. At the end of the meal, the bread guy comes by, when the plates were being cleared and offered us more bread. Michelin rated restaurant? What? Overall this was an embarrassing and very disappointing experience.

First time here, came for my birthday! Waiter was super friendly! They were informed thay it was my birthday but still put us ina table roght beside the bussing station which was definitely a miss here. We were told that we were going to have the best table Im the restaurant but what they actually gave us definitely wasnt the best table. In any event, on to the food! I had the oysters and rabbit, both were delicious! Oysters were smaller (which I like and from the east coast I believe). Rabbit was interesting and tasted like chicken! The actual meat was a bit more leaner than expected. My daugther had the short ribs and they were fantastic!!! Super tender! My GF had the lamb which was also delicious and super tender! I finished with the cherry cake and my gf had the cheese cake. I liked both. Great views but really only if you sit near the windows. Not sure if I would want to sit right by the windows as there were quite a few people just coming up and taking pictures roght beside the windows/tables so it seemed a bit awkward for the patrons sitting there. Overall I had a great time here and would definitely return for another special occasion. I also do recommend to those who like fine dining with a great view to check this place out! Note, its not an inexpensive place!

Short and sweet, I would not recommend this place. The view is stunning and the service was quick, but those are the only good things I can say. We had a very disappointing experience for the price, and I think most good reviews here are given by people who are not used to go to good restaurants. We had the tasting menu with the 100$ wine pairing, for a total bill of 740$ for 2. Out of 7 or 8 courses, I can remember 2 good ones, a really bad one (a confused plate of zitti that tasted like a frozen meal) and all the others were just forgettable. For the quarter of the price, we both had a much better experience at R&D Spadina 2 days before. The view, though, is obviously beautiful. July 23, 2024

I have no idea how this place has 4.4 rating, we got the tasting menu, $200+ per person, half the dishes are mediocre at best and the others are just bad. Too salty, and flavors dont combine well. The last deserts item was literally just gummy bears and some cheap sugar coated chocolates combined, I cannot believe how cheaply done it was. After we paid the waitress came back and confronted us why we only tipped $10, we expressed we did not like the food so we are not going to tip 10% on a $400+ bill, she was clearly not happy with the tip, but honestly I cannot justify paying more tip for a meal so unpleasant like this. To be fair, the view was good, from our angle we can see a big chunk of downtown skyscrapers and some of lakeshore. But just remember you are paying a big, big surcharge for it, because the food was definitly not worth the cost.

After our wedding, I made a lunch reservation for 12 people at Canoe to treat my family visiting from the US. When an additional person joined, the restaurant kindly made an exception to accommodate 13 guests, for which we were grateful. I also made a separate reservation for two close friends. Upon arrival, I requested that the bill for the two-person reservation be combined with the bill for the 13-person reservation (so I could pay for both) while keeping the tables separate. The manager, appearing stressed, loudly refused, citing the exception already made for our group. The manager s attitude was quite rude as she did not listen or allow me to finish my sentence, instead reprimanding me for expecting additional accommodations. My husband had to explain the situation again, and only then did she agree, but without an initial apology. Later, she apologized in passing, claiming she had misunderstood my request. When I clarified that my request had been clear from the start, she insisted it was not and raised her voice again. It was very clear that what she was doing was not a sincere apology. I left the spot since it made me very intimidated. Our table was served by an excellent server who provided great service, which I appreciated. However, considering Canoe is known for fine dining with great service and is not a cheap restaurant, the managers unprofessional attitude was unacceptable and fell far short of my expectations. The restaurants view was beautiful and the food was satisfactory, but the managers behavior significantly marred our experience.I also felt like this could be racism, as my clear explanation was totally denied and I did not even get a chance to speak to her comfortably. I cannot recommend Canoe to others. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously and lead to improvements in customer service.

The server in the bar was such a lovely guy and very helpful and on point. It was also fun to watch the train of servers arrive at the table and play musical dishes as they try to figure out what goes where. The washroom, however, was a beast -- with strange customers and no accessibility stall. I used it twice and both trips were weirdly unpleasant. That has more to say about the clientel than the restaurant, but the addition of an accessibility stall would be an upgrade. Wheelchair accessibility: No accessible stall in the womens washroom.

Dining with such breathtaking vistas definitely enhances the experience. As for the cuisine, I wouldnt say it blew me away; it was tasty but not exceptional. However, the local oysters were a highlight for me they were delicious and fresh. The second course, a fish dish with potatoes and vegetables, was decent but unremarkable, as was the dessert. On a positive note, the espresso was excellent, unlike many other Canadian establishments Ive tried. I also appreciate the staff accommodating my lactose-free needs. Canoe tasting menu review: I liked the eccentricity of the selection - haggis and pig ear portions were more out there. However, overall the flavours did not impress me too much. It started off strong with the oyster/truffle combo. The rest was a little more flat and dull. Pigs trotter dish needs improvement - ~5 pieces of pasta on a sauce that tastes like ketchup. Also, did not like the peas with the lamb. Dessert was great. Not sure where they draw their Canadian inspiration from though. There are better tasting menus in the city. However, the atmosphere is great here and I would recommend to come for a simple dinner.

I made an advance reservation for the spring chefs tasting menu at $185 per person. It included eight courses from 9:30 to 12:00. Apart from the first course of oysters with black truffle and one later dish with lamb, I honestly had no idea what I was eating. The flavors were confusing not bland but not distinctly flavored either, making it hard to describe whether it was sour, sweet, bitter, or spicy. The fresh ingredients didnt come through, and there were no unique flavors. I also felt unsatisfied, like I hadnt eaten enough. This restaurant is only good for the view and some drinks. Don t expect much from the ingredients or flavors. Also, the service was rushed. The waiter would chat briefly and then quickly move on. Honestly, the food at the CN Tower was better. There were four of us, and including tips and taxes, the bill was nearly $1,000 (my husband was too kind and gave a 20% tip because we stayed late). The hostess was impatient. Although we had requested a window seat when reserving, she seated us far from the window without asking if it was okay. When we complained, she looked annoyed and said we would have to wait for a window seat. After we agreed to wait, she came back in less than a minute saying it was ready. It was really frustrating.

Went here yesterday and we did the tasting menu. When our 3rd dish came out - there was a bug crawling around in my food. I showed the server and he took the plates away. I had to request for a manager - as I m not sure if others will also have bugs in their food since it s all from the same batch. The manager came and said he does not know what to do for me. After talking - he ended up comping my meal but had charged my partner for the full meal - regardless of not even getting one of the dishes on the tasting menu. We love going to restaurants all over the word and even in Toronto. We will definitely not be coming back or recommending canoe to anyone. Not worth it at all. Yes, the view is impressive. The food lacked seasoning and texture. Only 2 of the 8 dishes we tried were decent in flavour and worth ordering again. Too many waiters come at once. No need for all that, really. Having one that is alert and listens would be more than enough. When we mentioned the lack of seasoning, one replied well, its better that it lacks salt as you can always add more. Not quite true... if you cook the fish without salt, no matter how much you add on top, the center still tastes off. Cannot recommend this place at all.

I initially had a wonderful experience at Canoe. Our first waiter, an older gentleman with grey, longer hair, provided exceptional service, and the food was absolutely amazing. However, I am giving this experience one star because the initial positive impression quickly deteriorated. Later, a waitress with black hair and glasses served us with an undeserved attitude and a lack of understanding of basic menu requests. I was appalled by her behaviour, which was unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone a fine dining establishment like Canoe. Customer service is extremely important to me, as it greatly affects the overall atmosphere and experience. Unfortunately, having to leave this restaurant with the memory of the disappointing customer service is the impression this place has left me with. This incident has made me reconsider returning to Canoe, and I would caution against taking clients here due to the inconsistency in service quality. I hope management addresses this promptly to ensure a consistently high level of service and to prevent giving people the wrong impression of Canadian hospitality.

Came for an anniversary dinner. I had high expectations, as Canoe is well known. Service was poor for the price, and the server did not check in on the meal or table as often as other high end restaurants I have been to. Portions were very small, especially the sides. The portions were so small, that we had to order two sides of fries so we could feel satisfied at the end of the meal. Did not get the warm feeling I typically get from the service and atmosphere from high end restaurants. Underwhelming experience.

Awesome atmosphere and great service. Unique serving style for commonly loved dishes and extremely well crafted menu. Less elaborate but extremely precise. Try the cocktails. Super delish!! Menu needs tonhave variety. Vegetarian options: They had just basic veggie option. Kid-friendliness: No kids. And better not bring them. Spaces between tables is less and this is more date like or business environment. However, tweens and teens were seen with families. Which was nice. Wheelchair accessibility: Didnt see soecific area fir wheelchair accessible tables. Hence cant commentnif they have it or not. If they do the choice is very low for tables. But looking at service, i am sure if the reservation mentions wheelchair, they could organize something. So better check when you call. Dont rely only on online reaervation in this case

Canoe Restaurant offers an extraordinary dining experience that deserves five stars. The stunning views from the 54th floor provide a breathtaking backdrop to an exquisite meal. The cuisine is exceptional, featuring creative, Canadian-inspired dishes that are both beautifully presented and delicious. The service is also impeccable, with staff who are knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food. The elegant ambiance and attention to detail make every visit memorable. Highly recommended for a special occasion or a sophisticated night out in Toronto.

We booked 6 weeks ahead of time with a specific request for a window table facing west (I m a visiting photographer so this was very important to me). Normally I eat early but I specifically postponed the reservation to coincide with sunset (for the view). When we arrived they said the window tables were first come first served and we would have had to come at 5pm to get one of those tables (sunset was 8:39pm, the reservation was 7:30pm). I recognize everyone wants a window table but it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. They don t appear to read or honour requests in reservations, or state anywhere on the website that window tables are not reservable. They placed us at a table basically in the centre of the restaurant. The food was very good, and most of the staff were friendly, but due to my disappointment at how they handled the reservation, the value for price and waiting for long stretches for service I would not return. *I am vegan and they accommodated my preferences well. Vegetarian options: They have a green bean salad appie and a mushroom risoni main that were vegan and delicious.
