Roti shop is the best in Scarborough they wrap the roti properly and the roti is freshly made if it’s not roti shop the second best i go to Kori roti in Oakville far drive but it is dam worth it same way I would drive from Hamilton to get roti from the Roti shop you guys keep doing your thing because I alway leave with a smile on my face bigg ups !!
Good double. Would’ve liked to have tried the saheena but was sold out when I went.
Tried the doubles and roti, not bad, but I've had better. The small goat roti is quite small and pricey, but the large bone-in chicken roti fed two ppl and was a good price. I enjoyed the chicken roti, the curry had a nice flavor. The doubles lacked chutney and other sauces, which would make it taste closer to a Trini doubles. The bara was tender but the channa could cook a bit more. Service was pleasant with a smile, please note that they currently accept cash or debit only--- they also don't have a public bathroom there. It's takeout only. Overall, I'd have their food again but will try something else
Just included the new menu board images as of Nov 2024. Wonderful and friendly staff. I’ve only had the various curry meats and jerk chicken roti and dinner plate with plain rice or rice and peas. All excellent. This is mainly a take out place although there is enough room in the small customer area to eat standing. Cash or debit card only accepted.
This is mainly a take out place but it does have a tiny tiny area that you can eat in. I had three doubles as my early dinner snack. Each one is a bit bigger than the size of my palm. The taste reminds me of the doubles from Trinidad. They were very good and I would recommend. Next time I would ask for a bit more tamarind sauce in the doubles.
Food : 7 Service : 7 Price: 6 I got the chicken with rice and peas that comes with a bit of coleslaw. It wasn't anything amazing, but it was good. Feel like a mom and pop type of food Price was a bit high for me as my plate cost ~$18. I'll be coming again to try the roti next time
Excellent take out roti shop. Came in just after opening on a Thursday and was served immediately by a friendly and kind worker. He asked me if I wanted hot sauce on my two rotis. Waited a few mins while it was being prepared. Paid by debit - they accept cash or debit only. Delicious!
Was craving island food and luckily found this place not too far from me. Small hole in the wall take out place. The guy behind the counter was super friendly, courteous and d9uble checked my order several times ro make sure he got it right. No line but I came at 2pm on Friday. Ordered 2 doubles and 1 boneless goat roti to go waited not even 10 minutes which was greatly appreciated. Doubles had that nice soft chewy bread were always looking for and channa filling was lightly spiced and flavourful without being overly spices. The sweetness of the channa came out which was nice and the dabs of hotsauce gave it the small kick I was looking for. Small goat roti was generously stuffed without too much potato filling (thank you) and had a nice thick sauce. Goat was tender and had a great flavour. Will definitely be back here when I'm craving island food again. Thanks guys for the great meal.
Very disappointed. I ve been coming here for a few years now and have always enjoyed the food. Today I got the Large Boneless Chicken Roti for $13.99 +hst. What I received though was pretty much a Potato roti with maybe 2-3 small pieces of chicken but with a lot of fat. I understand with inflation the cost of buying chicken might be a bit high, but if I am paying $13.99 for a Chicken Roti then I want Chicken. The Potato roti is $8.99, so a big difference. Also the Doubles tastes a lot different then before. Not very good at all!
Yummy doubles, prepared quickly.
DRS was the place for real trini style doubles and roti quality, that is before the orginal owners sold the shop. The food has change from texture and lacking seasoning, and not to mention pricy. Maybe I will give another go if I am feeling it but my last experience with hard channa/chick pea in the doubles, lack of chutn ey turned my mind.
Great food
I heard sm great things about this place like 5 years ago. I always meant to go but life happens. So I was over the moon when I just happened to be in the neighbourhood. The food is unnecessarily oily. Which means the oil temperature when cooking aint right. The price to quantity ratio was a rip off. $12 for a MINI roti, nah man. That full size price. I would be embarrassed to take any family visiting from Trinidad here. Its aiiiight. Like, if youre feening for roti and aloo pie, itll pass the test. But if ur looking for GOOD trini food, like rell good?! You can miss this place. Dunno why anyone would say you HAVE TO go here. Its just alright. Maybe it was a better spot 5 years ago.
My family and I got two curry chicken rotis, one curry goat roti and a small curry chicken roti plate. Portions were nice size but sadly lacking in flavor. I did not get any coleslaw with my plate. Will give this place another try down the road. Food
Planned & waited hours to pull off a pickup dinner while grabbing the little one from daycare. As a Caribbean local I find it very challenging to find authentic roti or doubles in the area. I tried to purchase a small duck and a side of paratha but I was told I would have to upsize to large to pay extra for paratha as I can t just pay extra for paratha with the small ? Anyways not only is that not justifiable to spend and purchase a large meal as a single parent and the only one eating this food. I am also against food waste and know I didn t want to commit to such a large portion. So I tried to figure out ways to still support and try this restaurant but for a large duck with paratha and double is 29$ minus tax and tip which is a must sadly will have to update rating when I have more money to spend to just TRY this restaurant my gosh. In these times we need to make sure our people can access our food !! Please change the rules to add paratha to any size meal or make an option to buy paratha.
One of the best places to grab Doubles in the Greater Toronto Area, hands down. Ajay and his family are warm and welcoming folks and I always drop by when I m in the Danforth area. Food : 5/5
Great doubles! Would definitely ask for more hot sauce, medium was not very spicy
Always good
A friend took me to this place over 10 years ago when I just moved to Toronto from a teeny tiny town east of the city and said this is the best roti youll ever have! And my goodnes he was right! I still have yet to taste anything that even comes close! You guys are amazing!!
Roti Shop Shines with Five-Star Excellence! My recent experience at Roti Shop was nothing short of exceptional, earning this establishment a well-deserved five stars! From the moment I entered, the warm and inviting aroma of freshly prepared rotis filled the air. The menu offered a delightful variety of choices, each promising an authentic taste of culinary excellence. I opted for the classic chicken curry roti, and it was a revelation. The roti was perfectly flaky, and the chicken curry was an explosion of flavours that left my taste buds dancing with joy.
This place is fantastic. food is always great service is exceptional. Well worth visiting, would highly recommend going here instead of Ritz at vp and Danforth
The food is good at times but the lady there has a bad attitude she messed up my order and gets upset with me I was a regular but never going back. However amazing customer service from the young gentleman.
Super tasty doubles
This is definitely one of the more authentic Caribbean restaurants in the city. I would recommend their doubles it really brought me back to the Caribbean.
Got the rice and peas, pumpkin, channa, potato and mango. Delicious vegan meal, thanks again! Staff was friendly as well
They have the best Goat roti , Polorie, & doubles . I would eat here everyday of if I could finger licking good Food
Great food and great people. Omatee makes the best food and is a great person. Had Danforth Roti served at my Wedding and guests only had amazing things to say. The doubles here are called doubles for a reason. You cant have just one. Vegetarian options: Great options for vegans and vegetarians Parking: Parking on Danforth ave
Searched and tried numerous rotti places after cool running closed down. I tried the large boneless goat rotti, and it was exactly like cool running made it, and better. The taste is very good, and I was stuffed. This is my new to go to rotti place, and I was in and out in 10min! Highly recommend this place if your searching for a good rotti place or used to be a cool running customer..
Best doubles in East end Toronto
Goat curry is so good
Always a treat! Great food and great staff.
Hey now! This place was actually really good. Had the boneless curry goat roti and it did not disappoint. Requested Spicy and a side of their pepper sauce and it had good flavor and heat. Nice portion but nearly $20 for one roti is pricey in my books. Will probably return when I can save up enough money for a treat.
Best Roti in the east end!
Shrimp doubles hit right
The Doubles here was making and the price was great
this place is my favourite spot for roti! my best friend said she was missing food from home so i surprised her with some chicken curry roti and she loved it :) quality food and quality service!
Best tasting Trini style roti in Toronto
My first time goin last year the lovely lady told me I would be back. Now its the only place I go. Closest to Trinidad I have tasted in Toronto. Hard to pick my favorite thing on the menu but dat GOAT!!! Trust me...if u want Roti head to Danforth Roti Shop.
Proper homemade Trini food. My go to in the area for doubles and roti shells.
Awesome snacks
hands down best roti shop in toronto! quality hasn t changed in years. been going since early 2012 and still crave it even though i ve moved away from the city. definitely a must try. reasonable prices and portion sizes.
One of the best roti places in Toronto!!! The staff are nice and friendly and the food is definitely delicious!!! Curry chicken on rice, doubles, poularie, curry potatoes, coleslaw, and of course the rotis are what I have eaten from there so far...
Chickpea roti was good
Vegetarian options: Their doubles melt in your mouth. Best in the city! Food
Good tasting food and prices ok Vegetarian options: Ok for the price. Wheelchair accessibility: Not, the ownership should work towards getting rectified.
Ive been meaning to eat here, and now Im upset I waited. Super friendly, super clean, super chill, and super duper delicious. I had a small goat (boneless!) roti and a doubles. Doubles was incredible. Roti was fantastic. Not a dine in joint! But the roti was wrapped up very well.
Fantastic food!
This is my favourite roti spot in Toronto! I ve brought my Trini partner and her family here and they also loved it. I m happy my friend introduced me to this place.
I ordered a roti with two vegetarian items. Everything was delicious. I thought I was in Trinidad for a moment. Really good quality food at a reasonable price. The woman who served me was very friendly and kind. Highly recommend
Food is moderately expensive but authentic caribbean food close to downtown toronto.
Second visit. Doubles melt in your mouth. Goat plate delicious. Veggie roti delicious. Service is friendly & fast! My new east side fave. Food
Loved the goat roti and doubles! Been looking for a good West Indian place in the east end and I think I found it.
Doubles with hot sauce were amazing
Ital (5 veg) and jerk chicken rotis + doubles, picked up on the way home from a cold day urban hike. Fantastic food served up by friendly people - wonderful!
I had the jerk chicken with rice and beans. Delicious!
Finally found curry chicken roti that is as good as the first roti I had, in the 80s!!! Mmmm this place is great!
They make the boom roti! Kicking
Authentic trini food
We ve been buying here for years; love it. Usually get the chickpea Roti. My son requested it for his birthday this year. Always nice service too.
This is my only and favorite roti spot! SOOO friendly, great variety of veggies for their vegg roti. Prices are a tad high BUT completely worth every penny for me!
Great food and really really good boneless curry lamb
Best Roti in town!
Good food but the portions are way too small for the price
Recently tried this roti shop .It was very good and comparable prices to other roti or Caribbean restaurants. Delicious I ll be back.
I drive from an hour north of the Danforth to visit my daughter and always have and love the food at Danforth Roti
The Roti are great but the doubles are extraordinary, service is top notch as well
The food and service was great
Meh.
Food is alright. A little bland and needs more flavor. Small chicken curry roti had (3) pieces of small chicken meat inside for $9.00. If you order a large size, probably only the roti itself will increase in size but NOT the quantity of the meat. The lady at the counter is friendly.
Finally! A doubles place closer to home. Cashier was very friendly and I enjoyed the soca music in the background. Doubles and pholourie were made fresh to order Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu
The best roti in all of Toronto. Easy. Doubles....near perfection. Bone-in roti. Great prices with excellent chutney options and Tamarind saucem Vegetarian options: Doubles Kid-friendliness: Kids love roti
Discovered doubles from this place years ago and they never disappoint
Tried doubles from many retaurants. These guys have one of the best. Asked for spicy and I got exactly that. Taste was amazing. People were friendly. Im definitely coming back. The doubles were 10/10.
Their Doubles and Jerk Chicken Roti are amazing
Amazing roti (I went with eggplant + pumpkin), and very nice guy behind the counter. Highly recommended
The BEST ROTI Ive ever eaten in my 25 years in Toronto... So good, that I travelled from the West end to the east end just for one !! Food
Food is not bad however; hardly any chicken in the roti I have came here a few times in hopes they would stop being cheap. Iiterally buy a roti and open it and its all potatoes and two small pieces of chicken. The roti hut has a proper good size roti and good portions of meat, however they are on the other side of scarborough
Best Roti!
Great food and service.
Amazing food. Amazing people
Awesome Roti shop! Warning hot us super awesome hot! Staff were great.
Like that u can order different sizes of rotis depending on your hunger level plus your level of heat rots very good
My whole family has been going here for over 10 years now, great food and great people.
Legit the best rotis and doubles in the city. Love the hot sauce too!
Food is fresh and tasty...doubles is best
Best roti
Food is well made. Tastes like home.
Doubles are dope!!! Will go there again to get some more and try something new!!!
The best roti Ive ever had. Everything is perfect. The roti dough is soft and chewy, and doesnt fall apart. The meat is so juicy and flavourful; no stringy dry meat here. The curry is delicious and goes very well with the hot chili sauce. Great variety of options too.
Years and years on consintantly the best stewed curry on the East side.. Thank you DRS!
Trinidadian roti, snacks, doubles - tasty.
Amazing place, amazing food. Every time I go there, it always exceeds my expectations. The hot sauce is really good and the guy that takes the orders is also super nice and cute :). However, he is a little short which is why I cannot see him past the counter sometimes.
The roti pastry is dahl puri, which is already great. I ordered a large curry chicken boneless and a small jerk chicken boneless, both xtra hot. And yes, both rotis had the perfect amount of heat, borderline at just beginning to get tearful !!!!! The only minor drawback on the day i went was the wait time. It was only one cook ( maybe the owner ? I dunno...) and there 6 of us waiting. It was a good 15 mins at least, but it was well worth waiting for. When in the area again, i will visit and order again for sure !!! Next time i will get some pics too...
Love this place. Their doubles are the best in the city.
The best roti place in Toronto!!!! Im Irish but the wife is trini but the food is superb
The roti, curry goat and everything else here is just absolutely amazing. I live in Markham and drive down just to get the bus up shut with curry goat.
So yummy!! Fresh and fast!
they need to wear gloves not sure if they di in the back but its about optics. you cant be touching the cash register then touching the food.
o my gooooodness!! honestly by far and hands down my FaVorite place to go fur my boneless curry~goat !! Moved into the hood about 15 yrs. back...Ive tried so many places for Roti and have never come close to this Delicious Gem ...Totally a family vibe 2...(i guess when you order ur Roti from the same place for 15, u ki da get to know the people behind the food..and they are just as authentic see ya soon
This roti shop is by far the best even considering if we were in Trinidad
Simply the best doubles there is, in all of Toronto. This place has been consistently delicious for years and years.
Amazing food. Amazing owners. I LOVE this place!! Danforth Roti has a special place in my heart.
Got the goat roti large with some doubles and they were all amazing. The doubles were way spicier than the roti which makes for an amazing side for your roti.
Best roti in Toronto
Very tasty doubles and roti. I always go for the curry fillings.
Friendly service. The roti (boneless chicken curry) was fresh and tasty. Definitely one of the better rotis Ive ever eaten.
Bestest curry ever! I ordered for a party ( 3rd time) and as before, I was not disappointed. The flavor was beyond amazing. Thank you Omatie and staff...yummm! Rick G
Authentic Trinidadian food. Very tasty.
The BEST roti in all of Toronto. Its up there in my top 3. The others being Koris in Oakville and The Hot Shoppe in Burlington. Ive tried over 50 Caribbean/Roti places and this place is absolutely incredible. 5 Stars all day long.
Delicious food, the curry goat roti is the one of the best things I have ever eaten.
Excellent doubles!
Food is phenomenal
Great Roti skins
taste is nothing special,, had better roti else where
One of the best Roti Ive had in a long time! Boneless chicken with extra gravy and extra extra spicy!!! Best Roti in east Toronto hands down!
Love the chicken roti here.
Excellent vegan roti options! Channa and pumpkin curry are to die for. The meat curries are excellent too! Cheap doubles, agreeable roti prices given what you get, all wrapped up in lightly greasy sandwich paper. Favourite west indian roti in the city.
A hole-in-the-wall gem:) I had the doubles and theyre #1 superseding my previous #1 :) Awesome the pepper sauce tastes made in house, the fried patty is thin and light
Yeah man best doubles in the 6. Every divali they share food.
This roti place is the amazing. The food here is legit. So good. Moved from west end to east end, and finally found some GOOD food.
Best doubles in the GTA in my humble opinion. Great service too
Proper roti. Got the potato with slight pepper delicious
Danforth roti is always a pleasure to go staff are always pleasant and off course food is amazing big up to them.
Love their variety of freshly made Roti shells. Their sides and homemade Trini condiments are amazing. The curry dishes are pretty good too.
Rotis are delicious the paratha and dalpourie are soft & light...portions are plentiful too. This Trini roti shop is top notch and the food is yummy
Its been better. Order was not ready as promised had to wait an extra 15 minutes.
The best trini food in the city and it s not even close. Support local!
Just had the goat roti. It was delicious!!!
Excellent doubles with a good hot sauce. They are cash or debit only (no credit cards). Looking forward to going back and trying the roti in the future!
Great Food Trinidad style.
Best doubles outside of Trinidad!
Love this Trinidad roti shop. Fast friendly and delicious
First time trying and I gotta say the best doubles I have had in a long time
We love this place for fresh, delicious Trinidadian food.
Awesome family owned and operated spot. Delicious curry and roti! Good amount of vegetarian options as well. Prices have gotten a bit steep and there is very limited seating. But I love this place!
Authentic. Love it.
The best Trinidad doubles and roti.... U just have to have it there
I am from Trinidad, and I think this place is closest to home cooking for me in the city. Excellent food.
Good fresh food
Best food and prices
Authentic Trini roti
This place does not serve authentic Trini doubles. Poor service, really expensive food for very poor quality. Not enough seasoning, and regular doubles for $5. They only care about collecting money but very poor customer service. They messed up my order (literally didn t finish it and left out a whole item) and after waiting in line to address the issue, the cashier tried to make me wait for the item in a line of 10 people, and argued with me when I asked her to correct my order because of the inconvenience. If you re looking for authentic Trinidadian food, skip this place.
I always come here for roti.
Shrimp roti is the best. And very nice customer service
A bit disappointed with the roti and doubles here....
My favourite roti place ever. Danforth roti shop reminds me so much if my mothers cooking growing up. I try to stop in for their amazing goat curry and roti every time Im in Toronto.
Excellent Doubles
Love this place. One of the Best doubles i have ever eaten in Toronto.
I went there to get some food because I was on the Danforth . It was a good thing I got 2 doubles after seeing a woman and her child eating it . It was yummy but the worse mistake I made was to buy a large bone in roti with skin on the side. I pay almost $20 and when I reach home it was 2 little chicken in the bowl with no taste ... I really thought the Roti was going to taste good.
Best roti ever
Trinidadian cuisine at its finest
Its alright, absolutely horrible service though
Very good jerk chicken roti. Friendly and nice. A +
The doubles are amazing
Knows how to make that roti and is one of the few places that do
Best doubles
The food is a bit on the steep side but totally worth it.I love love love their chicken roti.Im from Caribbean and have been to a few roti shops , but this one is my favorite.the ladies at danforth roti shop know their stuff.omg their cassava pone is delicious.Im definitely going back there again. Wish I could give them 100 stars.
Awesome!
Favorite roti place ever and been coming here 10+years now and I still drive from far to come here
Love this place friendly service and food is awesome
Best roti in the city. Consistent everytime deeeeeelicious
Best Trini restaurant in the city
Im suprised that many people think they have the best roti. Its the worst roti I ever had. I could taste raw flour and there isnt much of curry taste. Just salty yellow paste. I ordered spicy and it wasnt spicy at all.. just salty. On top of bad roti, customer service was pretty bad. A lady comes out from the kitchen in 5 min and took the order from bunch of us and disappears in rush without transaction. I did not have time to tell her that I want bone-in. Then some other lady comes out with the order and tells me I get the bonless chicken because I did not mention bone-in. Arent they supposed to ask when they take the order? Usually, 4 star restaurant is good. This one is just shocking. The only plus is their portion. You wont be hungry for next 6 hours after their large size roti. If you want the best roti, go to Island Food on don mills.
Great Food Resalable Prices Now HALAL
delicious doubles! mac pie was good too
My husband and I just tried this place for the first time. If you have not yet had a roti from here, do it, and do it NOW. Huge and packed with beautifully marinated chicken and lots of it. So juicy and flavourful you HAVE NO IDEA! I will not eat roti from another restaurant, ever again. Step aside other roti shops, there s no competition.
Very good doubles and roti skins
Great service, and even better food. Very authentic.
Amazing Trini food and warm staff.
Best roti in town!
Fantastic doubles
The food is incredible even if management is super cheap.
Very delicious food! Great to eat home cooked Caribbean food on the Danforth. Very friendly family owned business.
very good
decent portion size at a fairly decent price. Had the jerk chicken and rice and peas lunch special..cant go wrong with it, plenty tasteful
